Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome to another episode of I Tell You I wonder
if we're kind of screwed as a society. The test
was yesterday. Literally, did you hear the tornado test?
Speaker 2 (00:10):
I did two?
Speaker 1 (00:11):
Yeah, okay, so the forty five and six forty five.
Speaker 2 (00:14):
Okay, I knew or I know that normally there's like
tests that happened at one o'clock on what Wednesdays?
Speaker 1 (00:20):
Yeah, and so the first Wednesday of the month.
Speaker 2 (00:22):
Yeah, I did notice that we had one at one
forty five and then one later. When I heard the
later one, I didn't know that there were going to
be extra tests or anything yesterday. So when I heard
the one later, I was like, what's going on? But
I clearly wasn't that concerned because I just ignored it.
Speaker 1 (00:34):
You you are part of the problem. Yes, Did you
not see the signs everywhere? No, you didn't see the
even on overhead signs. It's like tornado tests six forty
five or what signs? Yeah, where, and there's stuff all
over I mean all over the internet really phones, I
mean we do news here. I knew it was yesterday. Yeah.
I picked up Lando from school down at U E
(00:56):
M yesterday. Yeah, yesterday. Yeah, he comes home on Thursday.
She doesn't have class on Friday. So there I am
in the glorious new traffic system without a functioning ninety
four by the way, just that's a side note. And
so we're down right in the middle of campus and
here are at six forty five. Here is a clueless society.
(01:20):
Some of them completely oblivious to everything. Some of them
just don't care. Some of them are looking to the
sky like Godzilla's about to attack all of them in
our hip, trendy school system, you know, in the you know,
U of m. The highly educated. They're up on everything.
They're always on their phones. They see whatever's coming up. Everything.
(01:42):
None of them new, None of them new. None of
the students. They look like some of them are like
running into buildings, I mean, and they're all looking to
the sky. Yeah, and I'm looking out and I'm like,
I just want to roll out of the window and
just go. It's the test they've been taking talking about
the last three weeks.
Speaker 2 (02:02):
That's so funny because I work here with you. I'm
in media, and you do many news. Yeah, I do
many news. I look for these stories. I had no
idea there was an extra test yesterday.
Speaker 1 (02:13):
I don't know. I'm not grandstanding. It's just like we
just you know, we read a lot, we see everything,
and I just figured you have them, you know. And
then I'm sitting there for a second, I'm going, oh gosh,
this is like the last place I probably want to be,
you know, with some kind of chaos going out, you know,
one of the largest campuses, if not the largest student
body in all the land, right, I mean, U of
(02:35):
M is big, how big in the country. Used to
be the used to be like the biggest university as
far as student body. I don't know if that, but
it's still you know, it's huge. It's a large, large
campus and a lot of students and they were clueless,
and I'm just like, oh yeah, please don't freak out.
And I'm just sitting at a light. And then there's
some people that just sit there. They're on their phones
(02:55):
and they've got their head you know, you can see
their headphones on there. A lot of headphones down there.
They got the full They should be doing the crosswalks
the way they do with headphone. They're not looking at
anything but their phone.
Speaker 2 (03:05):
Their giant noise canceling headphones.
Speaker 1 (03:07):
And they're just walking around those people are just blubbing
a line. They're just fine with everything. Yeah, and then
there's others that you see them grab the headphone and
then they just kind of turn it back and they're
like and then they immediately look up like is it
a missile? Is it? God? What is it? You know?
And they're like communicating. It's probably the only time they
ever talked to each other. All of a sudden, they're
(03:28):
all like, what's going on, what's going on?
Speaker 2 (03:29):
Let's go.
Speaker 1 (03:29):
I just I wanted to just yell, but I didn't
want to embarrass my son sitting in the front seat.
Like it's a test. That's a test if you just
look at other things on your phone every now and then, like,
maybe what's happening in the real world, Yeah, outside of Instagram,
you may know it's I felt like the old guy.
Speaker 2 (03:47):
I had no idea. Yeah, yeah, I would have been
just as lost. I didn't see anything about it. Where
did you see things about it?
Speaker 1 (03:55):
Here? For my own peace of mind, I went and
looked up the story. I mean, that's the thing. Sirens
was sound twice in Minnesota and Wisconsin for annual tornado drills.
Speaker 2 (04:04):
I don't know, I heard it and I was like,
wh my.
Speaker 1 (04:06):
Dog was from last Wednesday?
Speaker 2 (04:10):
I heard it and then uh, my dog was looking
out the window and I was I just like looked
at her and then I was like, eh, well, what
is that? And then she looked at me and she
didn't know she's a dog, and then I just ignored it.
It was like it's fine.
Speaker 1 (04:22):
Staren was was blipping in the middle of the night
last Neky. He was going because he sleeps with us,
right in between us, Like, yeah, I'm like, what's going on?
Speaker 2 (04:33):
My dog does that sometimes too. And then last night,
that's so weird that Aaron was doing like goofy things
last night because our dog Cody was doing weird stuff too.
He was doing like this mournful howl in the middle
of the night. It was like, I know, it was
like he was howling to the moon or something, and
it was sad.
Speaker 1 (04:51):
I don't know what if it was about the same time.
What if God's doing a canine download.
Speaker 2 (04:56):
It's like he's updating their hard drives.
Speaker 1 (04:58):
Yeah, a little bit, and he probably acting Cody a
little different than Aaron was. You know, he's a little loler.
Speaker 2 (05:02):
His is just Cody was like, oh, he just would
sit there howling like something was wrong with him. And
then it woke up Hawthorne too. I was already wake
so I was gonna.
Speaker 1 (05:12):
Get start howling.
Speaker 2 (05:13):
He did not, but He's like, what is that? And
I was like, that's your doss the dog. And I
got up because I was getting up anyway, and I
looked at him and Cody's just He's just in his
normal spot, laying on the couch, and I'm like, I'm
sure it was him. We do have another adult dog.
It could have been Emma, but it sounded like him
to me. And he just looked at me and I
was like, what are you doing. You're just laying on
the couch. You look like you were just sleeping, but
(05:35):
I know you were howling.
Speaker 1 (05:36):
Yeah, Sam with Aaron, he was just just I just
thought maybe he had a bad dream, But now I'm
thinking it was it was the next canine down load. Yeah, yes,
provides a canine download in the middle of the night,
like like Tornado test, you know, the test warnings that
kind of stuff. So was it schedule? Did you see
it in the news that the canine downloaded? I did not.
Speaker 2 (05:53):
Maybe we have to look around maybe in addition to
testing that testing the tornado whatever is. They also were
testing dogs howls. Yeah, Emma must have failed it because
she was quiet.
Speaker 1 (06:03):
Well, yeah, so did Aaron. He just couldn't even get anything.
He got kind of annoying. Yeah, but it was very rhythmic.
It's like when you it's like, set my heart.
Speaker 2 (06:13):
It's like when you have a fire do you have
a fire alarm? That's one battery.
Speaker 1 (06:16):
That was him, That's what I thought it was, But
I knew it was Aaron after about the second one.
It's like, that's the air and when he gets warmed
up to bark, he starts with that little yeah, and
then it turns into.
Speaker 2 (06:25):
It was he dreaming?
Speaker 1 (06:29):
Yeah, probably, Yeah, he must have been. But if we
find out, if you guys jump on talkback, what if
we you know, everybody, what if they were all going
to go about their day to day people would have
dogs and they're just like, oh, my dog was just
up at two thirty in the morning, you know, howling
your make a little bit. And then but now we
find out all of a sudden, what if it's everybody's dog.
Speaker 2 (06:46):
I'd love to know if other people's dogs were kind
of being weird overnight.
Speaker 1 (06:49):
Because the is there a full moon? There is a
full moon pretty close.
Speaker 2 (06:53):
The odds of both of our dogs being kind of
weird last night, that's so random.
Speaker 1 (06:59):
Yeah, and Aaron was not the phone I checked, so
he wasn't like communicating with anybody else.
Speaker 2 (07:03):
He didn't text Cody. No, well, here's your signal.
Speaker 1 (07:06):
He doesn't have apposable thumbs, so it's kind of difficult
for him text. He has to put out flat on
the bed.
Speaker 2 (07:11):
When he does, he needs like an iPad so that
he can fit his whole pod.
Speaker 1 (07:15):
Yeah, probably be a little bit better, but we can't.
We're not. That's just not in the economy right now
for us.
Speaker 2 (07:19):
No, not these days.
Speaker 1 (07:21):
