Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome to another episode of I Tell You What. What
makes the perfect Minnesota gift basket. We're heading into the
holiday season. Maybe you know people out of state and
you take pride in your state. There's a lot of
stuff that Minnesota is known for, and you're like, hey,
you know, I want to I want to kind of
show off what we got.

Speaker 2 (00:17):
Up here a little bit.

Speaker 1 (00:18):
I mean, people think of Minnesota, they think it's snow
and cold and dead car batteries.

Speaker 2 (00:23):
You know, they're a little more to it than that.

Speaker 1 (00:24):
You know, you don't want to stick a dead car
battery in a gift bag, But talkback some of the
stuff Minnesota's most known for.

Speaker 2 (00:31):
What are we missing?

Speaker 1 (00:31):
Talk back on the iHeart Radio app, and let's put
together a little gift basket here from the state of Minnesota.

Speaker 3 (00:36):
Morning, Kristen Dobbs.

Speaker 1 (00:38):
Perfect thing to add to the Minnesota gift basket old
Dutch potato chips.

Speaker 3 (00:42):
You can only get them in Minnesota. That's the best
thing to add.

Speaker 1 (00:46):
Have a great day, guess as genius.

Speaker 2 (00:47):
It's a very good point. I like that. Talk back
on the iHeart Radio app.

Speaker 1 (00:51):
What do you put in a Minnesota exclusively a Minnesota
gift bag.

Speaker 4 (00:55):
Yep, Minnesota gift basket. Of course, you got to have
a good snow shovel. And then yep, some lefsa. Gotta
have some good old lefsa. It's the potato Norwegian version
of the tortilla a shovel. It's a lefsa.

Speaker 1 (01:10):
Lefsa is awesome. I kind of I gotta kind of
have some sugar in it. We I grew up with
sugar and lefsa, white sugar and lefsa. My wife grew
up with brown sugar and lefsa. I didn't like it
at first. It wasn't tradition. I thought it was like,
you can't do that. It's it's like sacrilegious, you just
don't do that to lefsa. And then but now I'm
really in it. It's got to be brown sugar. So

(01:31):
I kind of changed my own family tradition there. And
I don't get the people that do plain lefsa. It's
like eating just like a raw potato.

Speaker 2 (01:37):
Kind of.

Speaker 3 (01:38):
I've never had it, so I would love to try it.
So I don't know if there's any place that just
hasn't already made.

Speaker 2 (01:43):
Yeah, go to dude, you could go.

Speaker 1 (01:45):
Imagine even cub probably makes you if you go back
to the I'm on the LEFSA station or what Yeah,
the baker, that's right.

Speaker 3 (01:50):
Do you guys have any Norwegian tortilla?

Speaker 2 (01:53):
Yeah, pretty much be it.

Speaker 1 (01:55):
I think it'd be the big surprise if you tried
to load it with meat and stuff.

Speaker 2 (01:59):
I don't think it would. I think I don't think
you would like it as much. I think it's made
for sugar.

Speaker 3 (02:05):
My guy, I have the beef, cheese, lettuce, tomatoes.

Speaker 1 (02:08):
Potatoes and sugar don't really mix until you've had Leufsa.

Speaker 2 (02:12):
You get it's kind of weird. You gotta try it. Yeah, okay,
I'll definitely have to.

Speaker 1 (02:15):
Talk back on the iHeartRadio app. Let's build the perfect
Minnesota gift basket.

Speaker 3 (02:20):
Or multi meal spam?

Speaker 4 (02:22):
We got quite the variety in Minnesota.

Speaker 2 (02:25):
Yeah, multi meal.

Speaker 1 (02:26):
Well, spam is here, spam is made here. Yeah, and
multimeals Minnesota makes multi meal.

Speaker 2 (02:31):
I guess, huh. I don't know what. I don't know.
I don't know. I feel awful though, I feel like
I should know that, right.

Speaker 1 (02:37):
A blanket from the Vertibile Willa Mills.

Speaker 2 (02:39):
This is Mike Inferable, no kidding, he must work there
a blanket is key this time of year.

Speaker 1 (02:47):
That's a good personal touch. Yeah, it's probably one of
the best blankets you can get.

Speaker 3 (02:51):
You might own the company.

Speaker 1 (02:52):
It's probably a serious yes, dude, you know if you
want to send us one. Yeah, looking for stuff from
my wife. She's always cold.

Speaker 2 (03:00):
Else. Yeah, talk back In the iHeartRadio app, you have.

Speaker 5 (03:02):
To include Top the Tater.

Speaker 4 (03:03):
It's like Minnesota crack. You eat the top potater and
some ruffles or any wavy Plaine potato chips.

Speaker 3 (03:10):
You will eat them for hour. Top potato and old
Dutch my guy, yep, rippled chips to Top the Tater,
give me it all day long. Should have had that, Yes, that's.

Speaker 1 (03:17):
The only the only thing I missed yesterday. Dude, I
wouldn't even be here if I had that yesterday. It
would be like a big block of concrete sitting in
my ripped up leather recliner.

Speaker 3 (03:26):
And now that they got like the different like they
have like Buffalo and they got like a Mexican dip
for it, I'm.

Speaker 1 (03:31):
Like, I gotta tell you, I really like what everybody's
doing to the chips lately, all the different chip flavors.

Speaker 2 (03:37):
Oh yeah, I did.

Speaker 1 (03:38):
We did that with the episodes of Chris Carr Tries
What m and I think it's really cool some of
the strange varieties that they're all that they're all putting
on these chips. I mean, they're delicious. And then what
Oreo did? That post malone Oreo was incredible. That was
one of the best oreos I've ever had in my life.
All the things that I tried doing those episodes of
Chris Carr Tries, What with Our Boss, that's the most memorable.

(04:01):
The post malone Oreole was absolutely delicious. But they I
don't think they're made here, so that doesn't count for
a Minnesota gift basket. Let's take one more.

Speaker 2 (04:09):
What do you got hey?

Speaker 5 (04:10):
You know, well you need in that basket? There's some
jumper cables when you're CARDI starting, good luck finding someone
to jump you though. They need some cappron chens Can's chili,
and you know what, you need some good old kwon
on towel. Yeah, maybe maybe maybe a jacket jacket.

Speaker 2 (04:34):
I love that guy.

Speaker 1 (04:36):
That guy's like, he's like the talkback Captain every morning man.
That dude's Air Force. Thank you, Yeah, great job?

Speaker 2 (04:42):
All right?

Speaker 1 (04:43):
Anything else you want to add, we'd love to hear
it talkback on the iHeartRadio app. We're trying to build
the perfect Minnesota gift basket. Holiday gift card isn't in there.
Gotta get a gift card from holiday. There's holiday around
every corner. I think wolf socks, that's gotta be in there.

Speaker 3 (04:57):
Let's throw some pool tabs in there.

Speaker 2 (04:59):
I'm a big fan a live bait. You gotta throw
the live bait in there.

Speaker 1 (05:03):
Absolutely put that in your little gift basket there, Shiner's flatheads,
it's gotta be. Yeah, it's gotta be. Uh, gotta be
from Minnesota. Many appreciate you listening to this episode of
I Tell You What. Please rate, review, subscribe, download, share
