Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome to another episode.
Speaker 2 (00:01):
Uh, I tell you what.
Speaker 3 (00:03):
You know, how what a cat walks into a room
after maybe you adjust the furniture or something.
Speaker 1 (00:08):
It comes back into the room and it's like, whoa,
what happened?
Speaker 3 (00:12):
Ears go back and it's like, well, the whole the
whole world changed here.
Speaker 1 (00:16):
What's happening. Yeah, that's what it's like.
Speaker 3 (00:19):
When you do early morning shift, like say radio, and
you drive to work and they change one exit.
Speaker 2 (00:26):
It is so rude of them to do that. And
it's not just one exit. It is like all the
exits that could possibly be used to work around the
one exit that might be closed, because yeah, this exit
is closed and it is disrupting every single morning. And
I could talk about this for the next hour. And
then I tried differently by the way, we won't we won't,
we won't, But I tried different alternative roots. And then
(00:47):
they're more closed and more inconvenient than this one.
Speaker 3 (00:50):
They're not just closed, they're more closed. Well, you're more
closed than this is closed.
Speaker 2 (00:55):
Okay, See you think I can I say.
Speaker 1 (00:57):
Something real quick. You can get on this thing. They're
not doing anything to it that's abodied.
Speaker 4 (01:02):
I thought about it because that little median is just
like a little fuff I'm like, yes, should I just
do it?
Speaker 2 (01:06):
I thought about it too. I was like, what are
the odds that there's a traffic camera that's gonna be
right right?
Speaker 1 (01:11):
It doesn't matter.
Speaker 3 (01:11):
And I've got a big truck. I'm just more right
over that measly little thing. Yeah, but I look at him, like,
where are the people?
Speaker 1 (01:18):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (01:18):
On Monday they had workers. There were like worker trucks there.
Speaker 3 (01:22):
It's like setting stuff, putting cones down and stuff. But
they haven't been there since.
Speaker 2 (01:26):
No. I felt a little bit less peeved on Mondays.
I was like, Okay, they're working on it, but now
there's nothing.
Speaker 1 (01:31):
It's been two days of not working out.
Speaker 3 (01:32):
Yeah. By the way, we love our highway worker people. No,
we love you guys.
Speaker 1 (01:36):
It's not you.
Speaker 3 (01:36):
But whatever plan they gave you, is it to get
us used to blocking off that exit?
Speaker 1 (01:41):
Because can we get used to it?
Speaker 3 (01:43):
Like right from the moment you start working at it
as opposed to, Hey, let's get them used to it.
Speaker 1 (01:46):
Because Louisiana is closed. Huh.
Speaker 3 (01:48):
I say it like a Southerner. Sorry, I used to
live in Florida. We called it Louisiana all the Louisiana
people corrected us. Louisiana's closed, the Louisiana and then Zenias closed.
Speaker 2 (01:58):
Yes, and a stretch of high Way fifty five all
directions just a block is also close. So if I
want to try to like take one hundred and then
try to come in that way, no you can't. So
alternative routes are also more inconvenience.
Speaker 1 (02:12):
This is getting up there, like with World Wars and
World Hunter.
Speaker 2 (02:17):
Like I get it, we're privileged to have but drive
on but it totally throws things up.
Speaker 1 (02:23):
Isn't it so weird?
Speaker 3 (02:24):
How there is some kind of little chemistry thing or
something going on in our heads or brains or bodies,
and something in the area of our lives when we're
going to work and you just shift one little if
you put one little thing out of place, and it
just joggles you. I come in here and I feel
like I've walked in and I have to like reassemble
myself for a moment. It's like something isn't right because
I had to think on my way in. You never
(02:45):
have to think on your way in exactly go in.
Speaker 2 (02:48):
It's so discombobulating. And again, like you said, I don't
blame people that like construction workers, highway workers, anyone that's
working on these things. I don't blame you at all.
I blame city planning, maybe you somewhat somebody at mindot
who planned that.
Speaker 3 (03:03):
I understand you have to fix it when yeah, there's
something to fix, but then start.
Speaker 2 (03:08):
Yeah, but there's no way that we are doing this
in the most efficient way possible because I have not
seen even You can make an argument. Okay, maybe it's
because it's really early in the morning, but I don't
see anybody there later in the day.
Speaker 1 (03:19):
I looked because I looked for it out the other day.
I'm looking.
Speaker 3 (03:22):
I was looking for a way to kind of sneak
around the system because it's not blocked off at Xenia.
It's only blocked off like the exits blocked off. So
I'm like, okay, could I cheat hop over that median again?
Because I looked at it yesterday and the day before,
and I'm like, I wonder if I could do that.
But then you wonder if I can be the truck
that falls through the exit like there's they're working on.
Speaker 1 (03:44):
Something underneath, you know what I mean. And it's like,
oh see.
Speaker 2 (03:48):
We're all peeved. But really they're they've got some kind
of underground project going on. It's just a cavernous pit.
Speaker 1 (03:54):
Yeah, and you go down there and then all these
workers and hats. GoF I told you man to be
the median jumper, didn't you add to be the median jumper.
Speaker 2 (04:03):
It's like when you see it in a cartoon or
a movie or something where they have a big pit
in the ground and they just throw some leaves and sticks.
Speaker 3 (04:10):
Yes, that's that's what it is. But you would think
that if that were to be the case, they would
put the pylons all the way up the exit of
supposed and up the median as opposed to because there's
other people you know, oh you know that are like
I'm skipping this thing.
Speaker 4 (04:23):
Yeah, but those detour signs, now, I was on the
way here, I was looking at them. One of them
is like, oh, it ends November November twenty five, and
then the one for Xenia goes ends fall of twenty
twenty five.
Speaker 1 (04:35):
Well one's fall really.
Speaker 3 (04:36):
No, doesen't. Yeah, the Xenia one is is November fall.
I don't think there's a honestly, that's it.
Speaker 1 (04:42):
Yeah. Nothing. There's like two of them there is a
Zenia one.
Speaker 3 (04:45):
Yeah, I saw the one about Louisiana that was like
fall of twenty twenty five, and then another one said
November twenty twenty five, the Xenial one. I haven't seen
anything specifically.
Speaker 1 (04:55):
Was xeni on it?
Speaker 4 (04:56):
Well maybe yeah, but then maybe it's both. But I'm like,
you're getving us two different I'm going to use a helicopter.
Speaker 2 (05:03):
Lucky for you guys, we have something called the internet.
Speaker 3 (05:07):
We do.
Speaker 2 (05:08):
I have not actually looked up any going to start.
Speaker 1 (05:12):
There's no sign.
Speaker 3 (05:15):
Relationship because I've been looking for the last few days.
I'm like, Xenie isn't mentioned anywhere other than closed.
Speaker 1 (05:21):
It just closed.
Speaker 2 (05:22):
This is It looks like this is mostly a part
of their project on Louisiana Avenue because they're we're trying
to reduce congestion, improve traffic flow on eastboundree and four.
Speaker 4 (05:31):
Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah, Well they're not doing that here.
Speaker 1 (05:33):
Yeah yeah.
Speaker 2 (05:33):
It says that they're adding a nude acceleration and deceleration
lane on.
Speaker 1 (05:37):
East new nude lane.
Speaker 2 (05:40):
Yeah. It's it's no wonder for.
Speaker 1 (05:42):
The uh that I can't take that lane.
Speaker 2 (05:46):
It says these clean closures go for about lane closure
lane closures Monday August fourth through mid November, just has
mid no family, I.
Speaker 1 (05:57):
Can't, I'm taking I'm going to use PTO. I have
no wait.
Speaker 2 (06:02):
July through Spring twenty twenty six. The ramp from Eastbound
I three ninety four to park Plays Boulevard is closed
till spring. They're gonna have it closed till spring.
Speaker 1 (06:12):
By that point, we won't even remember where it was.
Why did they can we just like this is terrible?
Speaker 2 (06:18):
Are you serious?
Speaker 1 (06:18):
We may not even be working here in.
Speaker 2 (06:20):
Spring spring twenty twenty six.
Speaker 1 (06:21):
Why well, I don't know it's radio Spring twenty.
Speaker 2 (06:23):
Twenty twenty six. I would have a baby bay the
time we can use.
Speaker 3 (06:26):
That exit, you're gonna be out for like twelve weeks. Dude,
You're not gonna have to deal with it anyway. Dubs
and I are still going to have to come in
here and fight for your freedoms every ye We're.
Speaker 4 (06:36):
Still gonna have to come in here one hundred, get off,
get back.
Speaker 1 (06:40):
On twelve weeks.
Speaker 2 (06:41):
I thought you wanted me to take like twelve hours.
Speaker 1 (06:43):
I do now I don't want you to take any time.
We should have it on the air. You're real lucky
you get six months. But you be able to take.
Speaker 3 (06:49):
Louisiana or Louisiana and then just head over maybe on
a front of drop not a big deal. But you
can't even get off on the Louisiana. No, or you
get off Louisiana and go down a little bit farther
and maybe take seventh or whatever zip.
Speaker 1 (07:00):
Up, but no, you can't even do that. Wow, And you.
Speaker 3 (07:02):
Can't take fifty five over because they're working on that. Yeah,
it's a helicopter or nothing. I'm gonna put that in
my contract. I won't win that.
Speaker 2 (07:10):
I just feel it still spring. Yeah, why are they
gonna work through the winter on this? To go do
what every other construction project does and take a break?
Speaker 3 (07:21):
What I mean, take a break like during the wintertime.
That'll be but they're gonna rip it up and then
there's not gonna be fixed. If they take a break,
at least get it done so we don't have to
deal with that next summer.
Speaker 2 (07:31):
I just don't understand we're.
Speaker 3 (07:33):
