Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome to another episode of.

Speaker 2 (00:01):
I Tell You What.

Speaker 3 (00:03):
This is just Me and Dubs this morning.

Speaker 2 (00:06):
Yeah, it's been crazy twenty four hours, real crazy.

Speaker 3 (00:12):
Chris is still out of town.

Speaker 4 (00:14):
He's down in Nashville to cheer on our boss while
he accepts his Hall of Fame induction into the Country
Radio Hall of Fame.

Speaker 3 (00:21):
Very very cool.

Speaker 4 (00:22):
He posted a picture on the Chris Car Company Facebook
page of Greg looking pretty snazzy up there.

Speaker 2 (00:27):
Purple tie. Purple tie. First Vikings loves his Vikings.

Speaker 4 (00:32):
Yep, very very natural, so we're super super happy for them.
It was kind of late night, I think, and I
assume it's radio people, so they're probably wasted and.

Speaker 3 (00:41):
So needed to take two days off.

Speaker 4 (00:44):
But he will be back tomorrow, I'm sure, much to
the relief of many.

Speaker 2 (00:49):
Yeah, he'll be back tomorrow and I can hand the
rains back over.

Speaker 4 (00:55):
You and I both here you go Wednesday morning. Dubs
and I are going to be in here taking a
napple at Chris run things right, Yes, so sure we'll
be It'll be fun. I'm glad that he trusts us
to do the show without him, because it's his baby,
like his name's on it. Usually generally it's like if
Chris isn't here, maybe we wouldn't do stuff.

Speaker 3 (01:16):
But Dubs and I are like, we got it.

Speaker 1 (01:18):
Yeah. They were like, you guys can get a choice,
and them We're like, I we'll do it. Yeah, what happens, And.

Speaker 4 (01:22):
We mostly had things handled, things didn't burn down. I'm
sure if you heard any mistakes yesterday, in our defense,
we were having legitimate technical issues which happened at the
most inconvenient time because I felt like we were doing
things right. And you and I both come from a
production background, like I was for sure over on another station.

(01:42):
You've been done production forever, you fosted, and so like
we're not here. I mean, we joke about being like
a couple of blind mice run on a plane, right,
or at least I said that, But we're.

Speaker 3 (01:52):
Really not, like we know what we're doing.

Speaker 4 (01:54):
It's just that there is a lot of nuance to
running a music station that plays a lot of music,
does a lot of content.

Speaker 3 (02:00):
There's just a lot of timing things. But man, I
don't know.

Speaker 4 (02:03):
We were having the weirdest technical issues yesterday and it.

Speaker 1 (02:06):
Was making it when it should have been playing, Yes, and.

Speaker 4 (02:11):
Then things and then like one minute something wouldn't be
playing on like the way that.

Speaker 3 (02:15):
It was supposed to be.

Speaker 4 (02:16):
And then another minute, two things will play at once,
and like we actually know what we're doing. But somehow
these things were going on, and it was so weird.
I've never had it that happened like that. It happens
occasionally to Chris, but not to the extent.

Speaker 3 (02:30):
That it was happening yesterday.

Speaker 1 (02:32):
I think after that is when I got flustered.

Speaker 4 (02:34):
It's tough to come back from that, because yeah, but
we we we kind of like got those kinks out,
I feel like early and then after it, like about
seven o'clock, we were pretty smooth sailing. But man, for
anybody who stuck with us through that, we sure do
love you.

Speaker 1 (02:47):
Yeah, big time, big time. But we love the EVG crowd. Yes,
always a good time.

Speaker 4 (02:51):
Yes, so very very thankful for that. You were telling
me that you got a funny text about Lena.

Speaker 2 (02:57):
Yesterday, right, Okay, so I'm gonna set this up that.
Uh So yesterday MOFE was like, Hey, let's get dinner,
and I was like, all right, well what do you want?
And it took us like eighteen minutes to figure out
what we're gonna eat she wanted to cook, and I
was like, nah, I want I'm gonna I'm gonna do
takeout half the day I've.

Speaker 3 (03:14):
Had you take Yes, you need some takeout.

Speaker 4 (03:16):
And I hope you got like some dessert or something
somebody yeah, oh yeah, So we got Panchaeros and uh
so I'm at Panchero's and I get a text from Lauren.

Speaker 2 (03:25):
Lauren's deathly afraid of spiders any size, color, shape, deathly afraid.
And so I get a text, Hey, I just had
to kill a spider with a Kleenex box because Lena
was in the kitchen next to me as I was cleaning,
like her bottles and sippy cups, and she goes, She's quiet,
and all of a sudden, I look down and there's

(03:46):
a spider next to her and she's just poking it.

Speaker 1 (03:50):
It's not going anywhere, she goes.

Speaker 2 (03:53):
I snatched her up so quick and ran to the
other side of the room that I scared her. She
started crying and I was it's like, really, I go, huh,
I go, So the other person in this house that
afraid of spiders is you?

Speaker 1 (04:04):
Because Lena's just cooking the thing.

Speaker 4 (04:06):
Well, Lena might be scared of spiders. Now, oh yeah,
it became a big deal.

Speaker 2 (04:11):
And yeah, so Lord's telling me this like when I
get Also when I got home and uh just was
telling you know, we do not play with bugs.

Speaker 1 (04:20):
That was just like what, I go, how big was it?

Speaker 2 (04:24):
She goes, it's smushed as I hit it with the
clean xbox and I'm like, okay.

Speaker 3 (04:29):
The worst is when you feel the smush.

Speaker 2 (04:31):
Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, oh no, so yeah that's all
I heard all that. I can't believe I killed the
spider with the cleanex box. I'm like, take it easy
over there, it's not the Soundbie Apocalypse.

Speaker 3 (04:42):
Good for heruo she faced her fears and she went
for it. That's pretty cool. Oh my gosh. I don't know.
I will say I think it is good.

Speaker 4 (04:51):
I'm not a parent yet, I'm right, but being like
old at a five and having done top riding lessons,
worked with a lot of young kids, and I love
working with young kids, especially when I was teaching kids
to ride that like.

Speaker 3 (05:02):
Three three year old range three four or five. That's
such a fun age.

Speaker 4 (05:06):
Not that Lena's there yet, but so I love the
younger ones and I definitely learned over the years. It's
like your reaction to things can really shape how something goes.
But I understand Lauren's afraid of the spiders, so like
her reaction was natural.

Speaker 2 (05:23):
But I and I've told her. I go, when Lena
was born, I go, you know, you might have to
like kill an exector and look at you.

Speaker 1 (05:32):
No, that's your job, that's the dad's job.

Speaker 2 (05:34):
Go all right, I go, what if I'm not there
like yesterday, Yeah, she managed to do it, but I'm
here all about it. So she's a spider killer survivor.

Speaker 3 (05:41):
Look at that. You should get her a T shirt.

Speaker 4 (05:44):
Or she set her Facebook status updated marked safe from
the spider when people mark themselves safe from a tornado. Uh,
Lena's gonna get into plenty of weird stuff over the years.

Speaker 3 (06:01):
And I'm sure that Lauren will get more and more desensitized.

Speaker 1 (06:04):
Oh yeah, yeah, Like I already am like, all right,
let's go for it.

Speaker 2 (06:07):
And she's been She just crawls around the house and
just starts picking stuff up and like banging it around,
and I'm like, yeah, we're at that age where it's
all she does, just goes around the house.

Speaker 1 (06:18):
Thankfully, though baby Proof did so much good.

Speaker 4 (06:21):
Thankfully, Like for us, I mean, obviously there's babyproofing that
we'll have to do, but with our dogs, especially the
facts we have three dogs, especially the two spaniels. We've
got the two spaniels and then my and then a
lab and the two spaniels love to just eat things.

Speaker 3 (06:38):
And especially like the one.

Speaker 4 (06:40):
I don't know if you've heard a lot about this
because this happened before we work together so closely. But
I've got the one spaniel, Cody, who had has in
like his first two years of life. He had to
have two surgeries because he got like an impaction from eatings.
First it was a sock, oh yeah, and then the
next time it was like pieces of a bone and
so yeah, and so he had to have surgery for

(07:03):
both of them. And now we are so hyper vigilant
about things on the floor and things like the areas
that they have access to. We have to keep them
super tidy because otherwise we have to worry about them
like eating something they're not supposed to. And so so
I'm like, well, at least we've got that part down.

(07:23):
As far as like a little kid walking like rolling
around and grabbing things and getting into stuff on the floor,
We've got that covered. Because I'm like I would I
don't know, we have to already worry about that unless
they're gonna eat like a little hairball dust bunny thing
because they're all high shedding dogs, and no matter how
many times I run a room, but there's fluff everywhere.

Speaker 1 (07:41):
See.

Speaker 2 (07:41):
So this is why I wish that we still had
ava around because with all the stuff she drops from
her hyghchair, Like I'm up there like wiping.

Speaker 1 (07:49):
It up, and I'm like, I've got a dog, just
it'd be nice to go have at it, dude.

Speaker 4 (07:53):
That's like the big, biggest best reason to get another
dog when kid, because yes, when you have to just
up the mask, yeah, when you have to physically clean
things off the floor versus like otherwise you could have
that little like lick clean little tongue rolling around grabbing
all that stuff.

Speaker 2 (08:10):
That's better than me trying to wipe it up and
just smearing it on the floor.

Speaker 3 (08:14):
Because it's got to be every meal time, right, yeah, every.

Speaker 2 (08:17):
Time yep, because she eats like avocado toes waffles in
the morning, yeah, crackers for a snack, and it all
just runs down and it's on the floor and I'm.

Speaker 1 (08:28):
Like, oh, here we go.

Speaker 3 (08:29):
Yeah, dude, look at that.

Speaker 4 (08:30):
You gotta get another dog and then and then you
have like the tray or the just have the dogs
lick the tray clean. Right there, you go. That's the
way to do it. With our three dogs rolling around,
that's probably. I mean, we're gonna have no food scraps
on the floor. No, none, Yeah, yeah with three of them. Yeah,
you're good.

Speaker 1 (08:47):
Yeah, you're golden.

Speaker 4 (08:48):
Anytime we're cooking, even at home right now, it's like
they'll just sit there and they don't even look at us.

Speaker 3 (08:53):
Half times they're just looking at the floor waiting for.

Speaker 4 (08:56):
Yeah, yes, totally like veranas. Yeah, it's it's funny, but
it's effective and it keeps the floor clean.

Speaker 1 (09:06):
It does.

Speaker 2 (09:06):
Yes, that's my rule or not rule, but a reason
three thousand, four fifty six why it's good to.

Speaker 3 (09:13):
Have it out exactly. Yeah, if you guys get another
dog sometimes and.

Speaker 1 (09:16):
Then oh yeah we will.

Speaker 3 (09:17):
What breed do you think you'd kind of go for
or would it be like just anything?

Speaker 1 (09:20):
Probably like a kind of like Chrystal dog Aaron.

Speaker 3 (09:25):
Yeah, yeah, he's got a golden doodle life.

Speaker 2 (09:26):
Yeah yeah, yeh labordood, He's yeah, labordoodle, Golden doodle one
of those non shedding because Ava wasn't that's smart.

Speaker 1 (09:33):
She had had a double coat, so it was shed
city that.

Speaker 4 (09:38):
Ye get the non shutter as someone with three shedding dogs,
do yourself a favor, right.

Speaker 2 (09:43):
