Speaker 1 (00:00):
This is the Country Sport Breakfast with Brian Kelly on
gold Sport.
Speaker 2 (00:06):
Everywhere you go, everywhere, go sake the weather everywhere.
Speaker 3 (00:19):
Coming up nineteen minutes after eight o'clock here on the
Country Small Breakfast on gold Sport. We talk with her
right now. I notice is a mess of high to
the east of New Zealand. It's kind of keeping the
cold front away, joining us out of the mid service.
Speaker 1 (00:32):
John Law Morning, John Koda, Good morning. That high has
been a friendly neighbor for well for days now, almost
a week or so, and it's kept like say that
low pressure out towards the west fest it would bring
the fun in towards north. Then to the other day
and they clopped a firmand of rain one hundred and
twenty milimeters of rainfall across the far northern parts there.
But for the rest of us it's been really dominated
(00:54):
by that high pressure.
Speaker 3 (00:55):
The big question. And I saw a story on the
news the other day the North Canterbury, the North Otaga
region desperately, desperately need rain patch conditions down there. Are
they going to get any in the near future.
Speaker 1 (01:07):
Well, it's a tricky one. With the bit of an
easterly seed they've had summer wet weather this week, but
you know, not a huge totals, which as I know
what they're looking for, it has been amazingly dries through there.
As we head in towards the next week, we will
perhaps find it a little bit more of an eastly
comes back towards us as we head into perhaps Saturday Sunday.
I think perhaps the heaviest rainfall in a little bit further north,
(01:27):
but hopefully a little bit there just to kind of
give them something to be going on with it. As
we said, heavier rainfall further north, but I think hopefully
they'll catch something as we head in towards the star
of next week.
Speaker 3 (01:37):
All right, big footy match on Saturday night at Auckland's
Eden Park. So what's the weather going to be like
for it?
Speaker 1 (01:44):
Well, Saturday night, I think we'll be one to be
keeping a very close eye on the forecast. There is
wet weather waiting out towards the west west and it
is edging closer towards US as we head through the weekend.
I think Saturday night will profind it stays dry at
Mountain Eden, but it will be done in cloudy air
and I think overnight Saturday Sunday, we'll find that rain
on us and so I think it will get wetter
as we head through the nighttime, but hopefully the rainfall
(02:05):
stain off for the game itself.
Speaker 3 (02:07):
And looking down South and Southland this weekend around of
the New Zealand Rally Championship is happening, how's the weather
looking around the Southland region.
Speaker 1 (02:14):
Well, that's probably one of the better places to be
if you're looking for dry weather. It should be pretty decent.
I think throughout the weekend a good southeast of the
up Roam northeast. Thesters well go through into there, so
jumping up too bad in that sense, it looks pretty decent.
So I think hopefully some some dry weather for them
and a pretty decent looking weekend.
Speaker 3 (02:31):
In for that, it looks like they're getting very cold
temperatures down south too through central Low Tago.
Speaker 1 (02:36):
Yeah, the downside of those cliff guys, dying cliff guys
at night helping to lose that temperature. I think we'll
find our tempature at back down below freezing for a
few of those, so some chili mornings. But you know,
hopefully that means that nice blue sky and some sunshine
through the day, but just still watch out. That is
always the condition that you could might find in some
of those valleys with mist and fog. Who might take
it's time just a clear off first thing, I think, Yeah,
(02:57):
some chilly mornings down through those areas.
Speaker 3 (03:00):
Next week, prepare for a little bit of witness around
the North Island in particular.
Speaker 1 (03:04):
Yeah, definitely. So while we find that high pressures helped
keep things away from us this week, as that shift
a little bit further away towards the east, we'll start
finding that the lost pressure systems moving back in from
the west, and they could bring with them some wetter
weather keep places like North and Auckland the Commando they
have plenty, and perhaps the top of the South find
as well those northerly winds come back towards us, So
more systems and perhaps some wetter weather for those northern
(03:26):
western facing areas worth keeping a close arm there as
we're heading towards the start of next week.
Speaker 3 (03:30):
And John, who are you picking the Blues or the
Chiefs for the Super Rugby final? Mate?
Speaker 1 (03:34):
Come on, come on, that's a good question. I feel
like Blues is a better choice. Really, surely, all right.
Speaker 3 (03:39):
We'll wait and see okay, nice one, have a great weekend.
Stay out of the puddles. J.
Speaker 1 (03:44):
You do.
Speaker 3 (03:44):
How a good John law joining us out of the
meat service here
