Speaker 1 (00:00):
From the sports field to the shearing shed. It's the
Country Sport Breakfast with Brian Kelly on Gold Sport.

Speaker 2 (00:08):
We Are, we Are, We Share.

Speaker 3 (00:30):
You thirteen away from eight, as he corresponded as Jim Dolan,
first thing I have to say is Ryan Kelly played
well for the Titans on Saturday afternoon.

Speaker 4 (00:43):
The morning, Jim, I.

Speaker 1 (00:46):
Think everyone played well for the Titans, Brian, but Warriors
fans and like a lot of people who were just
casual observers going what has happened there aside that you
know was promising so much last year in the even
better things this year and just yeah, it was a
horrible afternoon for the for the Warriors. And I was

(01:06):
on the Gold Coast and almost went to that game.
I'm glad I didn't.

Speaker 4 (01:10):
We were sitting here like stunned mullets. And at halftime,
you know, they were the Titans rough thirty nil, I
think it was I thought, and somebody with me said
they'll score sixty and I laughed at them. Oh they
did it easily.

Speaker 1 (01:23):
Yeah, yes, it's one they want to move on and
interesting how the coach can get them to move on
and put that behind them to spark up again. Next week.

Speaker 4 (01:33):
A week's a long time in forty really, isn't it?
Across the weekend with various results, yes.

Speaker 1 (01:39):
And in one in particular, there were reports just the
last time that rookie Lucky Galvin for the West Tigers,
he set out a game, everyone thought he had a
broken wrist and he was telling everyone that he wanted
out of the West Tigers, according to reports going around,
because of the way they'd played and they'd been thrashed. Well,
he's come back from that hand injury, and if it

(02:00):
was broken risk, he certainly didn't seem to have any
issues with it. Galvin showed the Tigers the way and
really sparked them to that forty eight twenty four thrashing
the Raiders in Campbelltown. And the Raiders another team that
we're expected to press for top eight this year, and
it would give a few teams a bit of trouble.
But boy, they were just dreadful. And I went to

(02:21):
Ricky Stewart, who's a very competitive man. He would not
have been happy with that. Probably had a Feuston would
say after the game, and when they get back to training,
that won't be great. And the other thing is that
the West Tigers. Campbelltown might be their home ground, but
they haven't won there for three years, so what a
way to do it. And the fans will certainly want
to see them again. There's plenty of them there and
yeah it was great win. And the other exciting thing

(02:44):
if you're a West Tigers fan is he's had three
knee reconstructions, so he hasn't played for four hundred and
something days. Adam Dewey made a successful return and not
only was involved in everything, he certainly put that knee
to the test when he had an eighty five meter
intercept and ran away to score. So I guess if
you want to see if your knees okay and if

(03:06):
you've lost the yard to speed, that's the way to
do it.

Speaker 2 (03:08):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (03:09):
Absolutely. And the Roosters, what's the story there wanting Australian
rugby to play ball?

Speaker 1 (03:14):
Yeah, after they've lost one of their players. You may
remember in Origin one when he's come out and made
that high tackle get us sent off to change the game.
Now he's the replacement. When the Rooster's played the Bulldogs
on the weekend, Junior Paler gave he was sent off.

(03:35):
He's expected to be suspended for four to five weeks.
So the Roosters now are so thin in the outside backs.
With Joseph Swale he's sent off as I spoke about,
needs suspension. They're hoping that the Australian Rugby will play
ball with an early release for Marko. Need to take
you wazy now that he's been able to look. For
the Wallabies, they certainly need some depth in the outside backs,

(03:58):
and international in another code would be very handy for
them and the new Wallabies coach Joe Schmidt is fine
for he and Titans bound Carter Gordon to be released.
The only snag is the one Ways is hoping to
be picked in the seventh squad for the Paris Olympics.
That decision on that squad will be made this week,

(04:20):
so he could be Rooster's bound, but he's hoping he's
Paris bound first. The Wallabies, of course, are in their
first camp under the new coach currently. It'd be interesting
to see what he puts them through today. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (04:33):
Absolutely, and not a great start for Eddie Jones's tenure
as Japanese coach. They went down on the weekend.

Speaker 1 (04:39):
Yeah, a little bit of luster wears off Eddie's shine
in Japan there and I'm sure he'll be able to
talk his way out of that one.

Speaker 4 (04:48):
Good signs for Rossie tennis. What's that story about.

Speaker 1 (04:51):
Yes, we had a few strong performances in Paris that
people were excited about. Now, of course we moved to
Australian's preferred service scrat and ahead of Wimbledon isler Tomilanowich
has made the final of the WTA event in Birmingham,
but went down in three sets to Julia Punt and Savor.
While Jordan Thompson made the semis at Queens. He was

(05:13):
beaten in that semi by Lorenzo Merseaid he also in
three sets. Had he made it through to the final,
he would have earned a seated spot at Wimbledon. But
I'm pretty sure he's got plenty of confidence heading into
the grass court event in the most famous tennis event
in the world at Wimbledon.

Speaker 4 (05:29):
And should I mention Afghanistan beating the Aussies and.

Speaker 1 (05:32):
The T twenty you're breaking up, Brian, I can't.

Speaker 3 (05:35):
He sorry, Sorry Australia.

Speaker 4 (05:39):
Oh well, they joined New Zealand, so Afghanistan beat us
there as well, so we've got something in common.

Speaker 1 (05:44):
Yeah, yeah, not a great idea to leave Metell Stark
out and not the best fielding performance, not that anyone's
seeing it because it's on Amazon Prime here. Not even
sure what that is. But yeah, the Ausies now they've
got to do and as you know on the West Indies,
commercial travel by flight isn't exactly the greatest thing. So
they've got to two hours of delays at the airport

(06:06):
where they'll make another trip than a long bus ride,
and then they take on India on a pitch that's
going to suit India SA. Yeah, the Autho suit have
no one to blame but themselves, but they've certainly got
to do it the hard way now if they want
to get through to the.

Speaker 4 (06:19):
Final nice one, Jim, go to Chant maybe or catch
you again next week.

Speaker 2 (06:24):
Look forward to it.
