They've won the OFC Nations Cup, beating Vanaha to three
nil in the decider and Port Vela on the weekend,
scoring fifteen goals over there four games and not conceding any.

Choke Morning, Yep, you did right. Fifteen goals all now
against its regulation stuff. That's it's sort of a bit
of a free hit of the games in the Islands,
but they can prove to be banana skins if it
wasn't the case. It's got the job done.

Three nil over Vanuatu, but two of those goals came
late in the piece. Should we be beating these teams by more?
Speaker 1 (00:50):
Well probably yep. I mean playing in the Islands is
an easy The pitchers aren't great. It's it's hot and
it's sort of dusty, and the ground bobbles around a bit.
All the ball bobbles around it on the ground, so
it's not easy playing over there, so you take the win.
But it didn't mean that they had to wait late
for it. A good early goal by cam House and
killed the game. Really, the only way Banaartu were going

to win it if they kept it tight and stole
something sort of on the break. So it wasn't the
prettiest game of football in particularly when you're sitting watching
the Euros and you have to flick across and watch
the games of the island. There's no real comparison. In fact,
it makes it look pretty ordinary. But it was a
young side as well. It was sort of a bit
of a prelim to the Olympic Games team that will place.
It wasn't a full of white side. It was a

side full of young guys and I suppose they'll be
better for the experience. But yeah, pretty marginal in terms
of value for the all whites.
Speaker 2 (01:38):
As I mentioned three four games, scoring fifteen points and
not letting any in. Is that a case that the
defense is strong or the opponents are.
Speaker 1 (01:46):
Poor, bit of the bit of both. I suppose that
the latter is probably more true. I think if you
can see goals against these islands so it should be disappointed.
And it is a young defense of our Tyler Binders
only I think nineteen years of ah played there and
got them or some international football, some good experience, so
you know, alongside the Sid and Sermon, that's a very
young pairing. So it looks good for the all. It's

going forward in terms of experience. As I say, they're
after the Olympics down to twenty three, so they'll pair
up there again. So a good runout for them. But yeah,
I would say overall, job done. But no one's going
to get too excited about the football.
Speaker 2 (02:20):
So the side for the Olympics kids announced tomorrow they're
going to be in a pool with the hosts France
USA in Guinea. Can we can we make a splash
at the Olympics?
Speaker 1 (02:30):
Yeah, definitely. We've always or of recent times become more
and more competitive at age group level and that the
under twenty threes. Yeah we can be competitive. They can
get out of the group. That would be their aspiration
for sure. How far they can go? Who knows? Not easy? Well,
obviously the French in France that's going to be a
real tough one for them. But yeah, they'll be looking.
They'll be looking to try and get out of the group,

so they should be competitive. Remember they can take three
overage players can see who goes. I think Libby Kakatchi's
already said he'd like to go, so you know, someone
like that makes a different to a side at the
Olympic level, So it'll be interesting to see.

Hmm. Absolutely, we'll look forward to that naming tomorrow. Let's
go to the euro Show toy England squeezing by Slovakia

Yeah, they'll have the English fans moaning. You know, it
looks the best and they they're not happy with the
way England are playing, and they won't be any happier
after this one because they weren't great for the first

the English are still there, but they will be moaning,

Yeszland and they're a good side though, there's no doubt
about that. I think they'll give a Sturn a test
and perhaps even they got this morning, so they will
have to improve. They're going to go deep in the tournament.
But it's it's not how you start the tournament's how
you finish, I suppose. So they'll be happy if they're
just ticking over and getting through.

Thirteen teams still standing. Who are your favorites at this
point in the tournament?
Speaker 1 (04:11):
Shody Well will spain up until how they're playing currently,
they're up two running into Georgia, and Georgia will give
them a decent run. But the Spanish, for me, look
like they are a real well al machine. You've got
to see this sixteen year old kid playing them. You
me and your male just set up the second goal
with you're sixteen years of age and you're playing on
the world stage. That they're giving him the free kicks.
They've given him everything. So he's a huge talent. So

that's worth a watch. Just something saying, but I think
the Spanish a favorite. Germany in Germany obviously will be tough.
England win is his favorites. They're sort of losing that
favorite tag because of the way they're playing, so they're
sort of falling off the placement for me here, the
likes of the Germans and the Spanish probably the two
to look out for.
