Yes, our friendly fruit or David Stewart arrives morning, David's walling.
Speaker 2 (00:11):
Brian, we'll talk about.
Speaker 1 (00:12):
Winter because we're still in the throes of winter.
Speaker 2 (00:14):
That morning's are chili.
Speaker 1 (00:16):
The frost's around down south, there's black eyes, so that
must have an effect on delivery of fruit and.
Speaker 2 (00:24):
Even really Brian, it's winter, you know, like tomatoes, capscomb's
cucumbers are or short supply at the moment because of winter,
like grown in hot houses mainly, and so there's not
enough sunlight and enough warmth. And yeah, prices are up there,
but not actually as high as what there were a
few years ago. You need to get up around there.
Fifteen to twenty dollars on tomatoes running really around the
ten dollar mark at the moment, so it's not too bad.
Speaker 1 (00:44):
Do we put tomatoes as well?
Speaker 2 (00:46):
We do a few ozsie ones coming, but not a
fan I think I've spoken about. That is just tomatoes,
red things, that's all. And there's ossie caps comes around,
so it does help it out a little bit, you know,
brings the average down so sure it's not too bad.
But it's just it's normal winter though, you know, mate,
like this, Yeah, that's what happens.
Speaker 1 (01:01):
But the winter.
Speaker 2 (01:02):
But the winter crops, I mean, beautiful vegetables around, you know,
everything broccoli, colie flower, cabbage, celery, leaks, Brussels sprouts, silver
beat the whole lot, selling a lot of silver beet.
Actually the moment blood it's good. I don't care the
girls saying yesterday David is sommer, silvery going. What the
hell is going on? I don't know, but keep on going.
Where does the silver bea? Where's the silver? All over? Really? Yeah,
(01:24):
all over the place, all over the country, right down
right down through Livin Parmesan, down the South Island again
south of Canterbury. So yeah, you know it's no good
good splies of everything. Fruit. People are buying oranges and apples,
nice and healthy stuff, gold and green kiwy fruit going
it well, they are trying to push the price up
on the on the both kiwi fruit actually because the
fight well just sesprey. Yeah that's I wasn't going to
(01:49):
say that. All the good stuff, Yes, that's correct, Brian.
Don't worry about how looks outside it's like a human being.
It's the inside that matters. That's interesting. Summer it is inside. Yes, no,
they're good. So it's getting a little bit. Greens reasonably priced,
(02:11):
but gold are trying to push up because you don't
have a lot of shelf life on gold. So yeah,
you know it's all right though you can't complain, you know.
And the pumpkins, potatoes, the cumra, the onions, the carrots,
all that's still selling.
Speaker 1 (02:22):
Well.
Speaker 2 (02:22):
Everyone's buying a nice winter ergies and cooking the big
roast up and everything on the weekend here. So no,
it's good. It's good at the moment.
Speaker 1 (02:29):
And we're not far from spring when you think about it, really,
I mean now the week or.
Speaker 2 (02:33):
So out from August Christmas was a couple of weeks ago.
It is, you know, you look forward to asparagus and
things coming on in the spring. So I'm being a
wee bit early with that, but it is, but there
are good things to look forward to. Nice warm days.
Apparently they reckons come be out at seventeen eighty degrees
here this afternoon. Really, yeah it was six this morning,
but no talking about that. Where was seventeen down South
(02:54):
Island somewhere in the afternoon. At the moment it is crazy,
but parts of Canby still need rain. Yeah, and it's
very dry down there and plenty here last week they
could have had some of ours tip some down. So
there we go, stell grepe vies and fruit and veggies.
There is there we go. All right, We'll have a
good one, Thank you, Brian.
Speaker 1 (03:10):
