here on gold Sport, interrupting our Olympic coverage to head
into the All Black camp kicking off the twenty twenty
four Rugby Championship against Argentina at a Sky Stadium in

(00:20):
Wellington tomorrow night. Kick off just after seven o'clock and
we'll have a commentary from Elliot Smith live here on
gold Sport, joining us on the CSP this morning, All
Blacklock and the man wearing the number nineteen jersey Josh Lord.

Speaker 2 (00:33):
Morning, Josh, morning running.

Speaker 1 (00:36):
How's how's the body feeling, mate? How are you feeling
a day out from the big one?

Speaker 2 (00:41):
Yep, body's feeling pretty good. Yeah, pretty excited and stick
the nerves to start kickman to the game tomorrow.

Speaker 1 (00:49):
So what happens in the course of today? Obviously you
always have a captain's run. Don't you much training today?

Speaker 2 (00:56):
No, it's pretty light day today. We've got the morning
off and then we'll head over to the stadium for
captain's run. This afternoon. I took that off and then yeah,
the rest of the day will be ours to be
a lot too much going on, maybe a bit of
cards and for the league and what's for the MTC
as well.

Speaker 1 (01:14):
Okay, let's talk about you. You made your first appearance
since March in a preseason hit out for Tarann Neck
infect We've had a couple of preseason games for the
Neck last weekend in fact, you beat our Bay Potty Steamers.
How did the body feel after that?

Speaker 2 (01:30):
Yeah, body is selling pretty good after that. It's pretty
good to get those two games out and get a
bit of confidence in and the body and the lungs,
mostly the lungs to be fair. But now it was
a good game. Boys played well and Naky we should
have a pretty good team this year. Is I expect
him to have a deep run into the season.

Speaker 1 (01:51):
Been a big step up though for you, going from
playing you know, provincial rugby and away for the Naki
then into the All Black camp. What's that transition being like?

Speaker 2 (02:01):
Yeah, it's definitely a big step up. But I was
in with a Haybees for the last couple of weeks
during those England tests. Just do my rehab and watching
watching all the notes and learning all the players in that.
So I'm feeling feeling pretty confident. I know what I'm
going to do and I'm just going to focus on
my role and the boys will do all their stuff
and I'll just do mind for the team.

Speaker 1 (02:22):
For you in recovery mode, what's been the big work
ons for you? I mean a lot of weights. What
what have you been doing?

Speaker 2 (02:31):
Probably just that itself, just getting getting the body right.
I'm looking after my knees, ankles, a little bit of
shoulder stuff, lots lots of rehab, prehead tab of jazz,
and yeah, just trying to put on a bit of weight. Wait,
it's pretty sitting a pretty good spot at the moment,
so I'm just trying to maintain that for the rest

(02:52):
of the season. I'll be pretty happy.

Speaker 1 (02:54):
How frustrating has it been the start of your All
Black career? With all the injuries that just come along,
You sort of goes through your mind, Oh no, not
a not another one.

Speaker 2 (03:04):
Yeah, it has been a bit of a rollercoaster, to
be fair. I think this year has been probably my
most frustrating year, just because it's been an injury after injury.
There's a couple of years that ago I did my
a cl I kind of knew what I have been for.
I knew I was in for nine months, but yeah,
this year has just been ankle out for a bit,

(03:26):
ankle out for a bit again, and had to get
a clean up of my knee. So yeah, it's been
a bit of a roll location of emotions. But I'm
here where I want to be, and I just need
to work hard to keep the body body right and
play good footing and hopefully stay here and stepping.

Speaker 1 (03:43):
Into some big boots. So's thirteen or whatever, Sam light Lock,
Brody Retell it hanging out. They're all black boots. Do
you feel like this is your time now to lock
in that locking spot?

Speaker 2 (03:54):
Yeah, definitely a great opportunity. It's obviously you just named
two of the probably the greatest all black locks. There's
a pretty big shoes to fill. But yeah, I know
what I can offer, and like I said, it's just
about staying healthy and playing good footy and put my
hand up for selection in the future.

Speaker 1 (04:12):
What's it been working out with with Razor. Have you
noticed sort of a difference in his coaching style?

Speaker 2 (04:20):
Yeah, it is different. Yeah, it's really good. You can
see why the Crusaders have been so dominant for LUs
or what seven eight years, And obviously he's brought in
a new crow of assistant coaches as well, and I
guess for met Jase, Ryan's still there. Uh worked with
him last year and he's a bloody top man and

(04:43):
he's he knows what he's doing and he will get the.

Speaker 1 (04:45):
Fords firing fantastic and of course Argentina tomorrow. You would
have watched some of them on film. So what do
they do well that you're going to have to watch
out for.

Speaker 2 (04:55):
Yeah, they're big boys, aren't they. Yeah, big strong, physical,
you know, a type of prisons that will be felt
around the right time. So you're luck. We're kind of
touched on before. We just need to do our job,
provide top top more for the backs at the backs
of weekly magic out wide, Ford Tolay a good platform

(05:15):
for them.

Speaker 1 (05:16):
Well, Josh wish you Andy all Black's the very very
best of luck tomorrow night out of Sky Stadium in Wellington.
Go well mate.

Speaker 2 (05:23):
So they think very much think
