Speaker 1 (00:00):
From the rugby field to the rotary shed. It's the
Country Sport Breakfast with Brian Kelly on gold Sport.

Speaker 2 (00:08):
I'm the daughter of the digger.

Speaker 1 (00:11):
We saw the marg below, came the woman on the holand.

Speaker 2 (00:19):
Dusty, I'm a child in the depression. I saw that's
according away here on gold Sport. In the Country Sport Breakfast,
we welcome him back from his World golf tour our
Rossie correspondent Jimmy Darlar.

Speaker 1 (00:35):
Morning Jim, Good morning, Brian.

Speaker 2 (00:38):
How are you going touring the world playing golf?

Speaker 1 (00:41):
There was some golf in fault. I got to go
out on the ground at Lord's where they don't let
you walk on, they let you perambulate during the innings
break and I decided to blide down and get my
photo taken on the hallowed turf. So if I'll never
be allowed back in that ground, but I had fumble.
I was here.

Speaker 2 (00:56):
Oh absolutely, did you play the odd odd golf course
over there?

Speaker 1 (01:01):
Had a number of very very nice golf courses, met
a lot of good people and as soon if they
found out we're Australian, they said, what's happened to the Wallabies?
And then they tell us how with Joe Smith, we'd
be all right. The second question was what's going on
with the All Blacks And they haven't got Joe Smith,
so how theyre going to improve?

Speaker 2 (01:16):
All right, Well, let's talk about the Wallabies and I'll
tell you what. They didn't turn up in the first
half on Saturday, but they turned up big time in
the second.

Speaker 1 (01:24):
Yes, well, after the record loss in Argentina and all
those points scored, it was just the All Blacks getting
the twenty one meal in the first couple of minutes.
We're thinking, you know, and it's on agamp, but should
they manage to rally after an hour? Who knows why
they'd hited it out to warm up against the All Blacks,
but they certainly would have known they're in a game.
James Slipper, he became the most capped Wallaby, got a

(01:46):
nice bottle of vintage red from George Gregan for take
going past his record. Great moment from the All Blacks
to give him a guard of honor at the end
of the game too, so it was pretty good Slipper.
It said, he's embarrassed by the fuss, but it just
throves him harder to want to win and return Australian
rugby to the top for the fans, because don't get
their hands on that trophy for another year. What's that

(02:06):
three hundred in a romeow or something. It seems like
that just gets further and further away. That led us,
like captain, Yeah, so hopefully with something there. Slipper was
also impressed by sixty eight thousand fans. Sure plenty of
them probably came from your side of the ditch, but
he thinks it's a good time that rugby's not dead
in Australia and maybe rock Bottom was last week and
they're on the way up.

Speaker 2 (02:27):
Well, we tried to lead, you weren't even by taking
two of our players off the field and the latter
part of the second half, you know, you still couldn't
quite do it.

Speaker 1 (02:34):
Yeah, I'd imagine there was some nervous energy coming from
across the ditch, that's for sure.

Speaker 2 (02:40):
All Right, we look forward to Saturday night, so let's
talk about the NRL. Who's going to stop the panthers?

Speaker 1 (02:45):
A Yeah, Well, we had twenty seven rounds to determine
the best eight teams, and of course the best four
teams are the ones that are still remaining with just
four teams left in it and the Roosters well, they
hadn't been able to beat the Panthers or the Storm
all year, but they certainly turned it on against Manly.
They're on top. Earlier when Tylukla he got trampled by

(03:07):
Jared arya Hargreaves trying to set some sort of tone,
but you don't get in front of that bloke. Even
when he's back from a couple of weeks suspension, he's
still not going to ease in. And then of course
Jake Trevoi, which also had to have an hia. Incredibly
he came back after coming up second best against Lindsay Collins.
The Roosters now head to Melbourne to play the Storm
in the Grand Final. This will be a big battle

(03:28):
for them, but they've got a lot of confidence saying
that this is their season. So the Rooster's trying hard there.
Cronulla had also had a difficult time in the Semis,
but they get a few calls go their way in
a penalty try they ended the Cowboys season. They fight again,
they play their fellow sixty seven is the team that
came into the compas at the same time. But then
Penrith at Penrith this week. And the difficult thing for

(03:49):
the Sharks is not only have they not beaten the
Panthers this season, they haven't scored a points against them.
So it's very much uphill for the Sharkis and the
Panthers could be the first team for a very very
long time. I win four Grand Finals in a row.

Speaker 2 (04:02):
Yeah, well watch this space with that one. And to
Formula One and overnight was it Daniel Riccardo's last Formula
One Grand.

Speaker 1 (04:11):
Prix unless as a miracle you got to think so
Oscar Piastri at the other end of the scale, he
got another podium, so things are looking bright for a
young or Daniel Riccardo showed one last glimpse of brilliant
s uf it was to be his last drive. At
least he'll be remembered for that. He set the fastest
lap of the race, still managed to finish eighteenth. He
just let it fly for one last time on that

(04:31):
fresh rubber, and Max of Stappin at the finish made
the point of thanking Riccardo on the radio, knowing that
the solitary point that he took from Lando Norris might
help Max reel in Norris in the title chase, but
that's yet to be determined. But yes, Daniel Riccardo just
showed it one more time. I'm sure he's still got
pall lenty of will there to drive fast and a

(04:53):
decent seat in the decent car. Who knows what it
could be that there's an awful lot of people out
there trying to get the decent seat in the decent car.

Speaker 2 (05:00):
And it looks like the one driver that will replace
them could be a key with actually Liam Lawson. That's
the big speculation, isn't it.

Speaker 1 (05:06):
Mm So you wouldn't be too disappointed.

Speaker 2 (05:08):
About that, No, he would not. All right, Well, good
to have you back, Jimmy. Nice to chat and good
luck this coming weekend against the All Blacks.

Speaker 1 (05:15):
And if anyone's tending to London's, please sell out of
my golf clubs and the luggage that's still going around
the carousel and.

Speaker 2 (05:22):
Prow you leave them behind, did you?

Speaker 1 (05:26):
I didn't, But they didn't make it.

Speaker 2 (05:29):
There could be a new set of golf clubs on
the insurance claim.

Speaker 1 (05:32):
Mate, Oh I just broke these one team.

Speaker 2 (05:37):
Good on you, Jym. Nice to catch up mate, Hope
you get your clubs back. Thanks beak Jim Dolan, how
Elsie correspondent, is that
