a broken down banana boat.
Speaker 1 (00:26):
What's going to happen from Ecuador?
Speaker 3 (00:28):

which is.

More than one or two boxes bananas, so to be.
Speaker 3 (00:35):
The Philippines are okay though, so we will be limited
on supplies of bananas during October. Okay, so don't go
telling everybody you're right.

Speaker 2 (00:44):
The main crop of bananas that they come from what
South America and the Philippines.
Speaker 3 (00:47):

Is well and truly in the spring. With this weekend,
it's daylight saving. The temperatures are all over the place.

Speaker 3 (01:06):
We've got between six and ten degrees every morning here
for this week or so.
Speaker 1 (01:10):
You know.
Speaker 3 (01:10):
Down south it was twenty one degrees and hastings yesterday
and the afternoon and.
Speaker 1 (01:14):
The blossoms and the fruit were going.
Speaker 3 (01:16):
Yeah, yeah, yes, we'll talk about that later. Cherries in
a month. Yeah, it's all the asparagu is sitting in
the ground and I want to get out of here,
you know, golden wit in here, but the weather is
just holding it back. Your volumes are sitting there. But yeah,
it's just it's difficult at this time of the year.
There's still plenty of other good things around. Lots of
brocoli around. The asparagus is coming on. It's getting better, cheaper,
you know, it should be around five dollars now, folks,
(01:38):
no more.
Speaker 1 (01:38):
It's very good.
Speaker 3 (01:39):
Salads, you know, increased from the hot houses, cucumbers and capscums,
a lot of caps coms around. Prices are down about
half of what they were a couple of weeks ago.
That's a good one. Iceberg lettuce is the same. Tomato
has got about two weeks mate to wait for those.
A bit of the export stuff going out, so price
is still sitting up there a little bit, but not
too bad for these New Zealand to marches. Yeah, I
was the ones who all gone, we don't like them
anymore after last said day.
Speaker 1 (02:02):
They were lucky that they were lucky it didn't win. Unlucky.
Speaker 3 (02:05):
Well that's right, at least they fought back. It's my heart.
Plenty of spuds, pumpkins cameras around. Still apples, Yeah, supplies
are getting lower. Price is going to move up soon,
so buy your apples now. You know a couple of
weeks here good New Zealand oranges, Aussie oranges, quy fruit
supplies okay, and good strawberries. Our local strawberries will be
available and about good supplies in three weeks time, so
(02:27):
you know, leading into Labor WEEKND is always good strawberry supplies.
Speaker 1 (02:31):
So that's having to look forward to.
Speaker 3 (02:32):
And then you've got cherries and stone for it coming
on in November, so you're heading towards Christmas. Make we've
got some really good news.
Speaker 2 (02:38):
Well yeah, I mean it's three months today it will
be Christmas day, which is a scary.
Speaker 3 (02:43):
Thought too, too, scary what happened last Christmas the other week?
Speaker 1 (02:47):
I know it's incredible, isn't it?
Speaker 3 (02:49):
Oh? I know, ridiculous And the other thing too. There's
lots of grapes around the moment, USA grapes, lots and
lots very very reasonably prices, reasonable prices year, punnets and
loose grapes.
Speaker 1 (03:00):

Speaker 3 (03:00):
They're lovely and very very good for you too, very
healthy like grapes.
Speaker 1 (03:04):
Yeah, like grapes, indeed. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (03:05):
The bicolor planets are my favorite ones. You know, those
are nice, two different colors.
Speaker 1 (03:10):
Yeah, and pumpkin. How are they going? Are they sort
of going up a week I mentioned earlier?
Speaker 3 (03:13):
Yes, they are, yes, been in stories for a while now,
and supplies getting wee bit low, and so prices are
moving up at touch, but they won't be hitting the
twenty bucks like we were last year. You know, you
play great big ones. You play a maximum ten dollars,
so you're still doing well, folks. Lots and lots of
cheap products out there, very very good growing produce to
lovely qualities, lovely, it's good.
Speaker 1 (03:32):
Buy them. And when the sun comes out and then
warms up a bit.
Speaker 3 (03:34):

and stuff like that, you know, yeah things we look
forward to the countdown.
