Speaker 1 (00:00):
Either it's gun boots or rugby boots. The Country Sport
Breakfast has you covered on Gold Sport, your home of
live commentary.
Speaker 2 (00:07):
Everywhere eighteen past eight o'clock there would have been a
few Wellingtonians singing that song last night, You can Take
the weather with You was a bit of a stink
night in Wellington.
Speaker 3 (00:24):
Lewis Fairest choices out of the MIT Service morning.
Speaker 4 (00:26):
Lewis, good morning. Absolutely right. We did have that strong
northerly last night before that front moved and then now
we've got that cool call southerly. But I know there's
some sorty on tomorrow night and it does look like
it'll be prime conditions. Oh real will be on the coolest.
You will definitely wanted to be bringing the lays, but
the wind will have switched around to the normally and
not picked up just yet. So yeah, the good one
(00:48):
to be in the stadium.
Speaker 3 (00:49):
I was talking to one of our correspondents and Gore
this morning and he said they had light snow falling
down that way this morning.
Speaker 4 (00:57):
Good to know, yes, and that was looking as though
there was that chart that we'd get just the lights
smattering of snow down to low levels in those deep
southern parts because it was some very cool air that
moved in with that front, so that potential was there,
and we just hold on to some cooler air around
the country through the weekend. But we actually have some
prolonged settled weather high pressure lingering around the shores through
(01:18):
until next week, and I reckon just off the top
of the head, it's probably the longest stretch of high
pressure that I've had in at least six weeks. So
it'll be nice to actually have that chance, especially over
a weekend, to get outside and maybe tidy out some
loose ends if you haven't got through to in the
last few weekends.
Speaker 3 (01:33):
And a great start to the school holidays because the
school term ens today, too, doesn't it.
Speaker 4 (01:37):
Of course, yes, And I think for people down around
the south having to get up to the ski fields
with fresh snow over the last couple of weeks and
not really the warm temperatures to see too much mouth
it will be a good chance, although the crowds will
be up, but still to go and get some of
that snow action would be nice.
Speaker 3 (01:56):
And just looking at some of the sporting activities on
for the weekend. Counties Menico played Wellington in Counties Menico tonight.
What's it going to be like there?
Speaker 4 (02:05):
Oh, well, we do have that front moving through I
reckon by the time we get into this evening it
looks like it will have moved, but that quite breezy
southwesterly will be lingering around, so it might just be
a cool one. So it definitely packed the laders if
head and along, but.
Speaker 3 (02:20):
It all moves through the weekend looking pretty good. And
I'm looking at a weather map and there's a massive
high off Australia moving our way.
Speaker 4 (02:28):
Yes, yep, so we do hold on to that high
until around the middle of next week. Just seeing some pencils.
Actually a low perscure system bringing in some moisture from
the north, so we're also some warmer temperatures, but it
does also mean that potential for heavy rain around the
middle of next week's some strong northerly winds will be
a switch from the almost assistance southwesterly systems were seen recently.
(02:49):
But yes, people will need to keep an eye out
for the forecast come in the middle of the next week.
But really the weekend looks pretty settled for the.
Speaker 3 (02:54):
Most That's what I like to hear. The good news
out of the med service. Lews have a good weekend.
Well there you too, Lewis Ferris joining us from the
yacht meat Tip
