Speaker 1 (00:00):
From the sports field to the shearing shed. It's the
Country Sport Breakfast with Brian Kelly on gold Sport.
Speaker 2 (00:10):
Everywhere minutes after eight o'clock here on the Country Sport
Breakfast on gold Sport. We're talking about the weather. It
isn't looking three bed across the country at the moment
as we join Lewis Ferris out of the met Service
morning Lewis.
Speaker 1 (00:26):
Good morning. You're absolutely the right, big high pressure around
our shores keeping those big rain makers that day. But
there's bits and pieces of moisture around the country over
the weekend and today. Even with actually Nelson being about
the wettest place in the country right now.
Speaker 2 (00:40):
They probably need the rain down there, actually, I would imagine.
Speaker 1 (00:43):
I mean, it's typical that they do, but I'm not
actually completely up to date with the state of play there.
I mean, we did have a few months of pretty
Southwest stuff that I usually pretty shouted from that, but
I'm sure that they'll be complaining about today that it
might be one of those necessary eagle type things.
Speaker 2 (00:59):
Well, we've got a lot of rugby finals coming up
this weekend. We've got the little hor Meads Cup in
Heartland Rugby. We've got bunnings m PC semis around the country.
So let's take a look North Island, Tarong and do
Main for four o'clock tomorrow afternoon for the first bunnings
in PC semi what's it going to do?
Speaker 1 (01:16):
Looking all right, it is on shore when northeasterly breezes
doesn't mean it's going to be pretty cloudy. There is
the chance of a shower around, but I'd probably bet
against that. But I mean, if you're going to be cautious,
take a little jacket along to the stadium.
Speaker 2 (01:29):
And Auckland FC there well, their very first game being
played in Auckland on Saturday evening at five o'clock. What's
the forecast for Ukland?
Speaker 1 (01:38):
Like same sort of thing. Those northeasterly winds are going
to be bringing in some cloud There could be some
passing showers around that time. Maybe looking a little bit
more well put together versus the total longer forecast. So yeah,
again you might want to bet against it, but you
might be might be looking to pack that jacket.
Speaker 2 (01:55):
Wellington tomorrow night ten past seven Sky Stadium were Ellington
host Whitehadow in the other semi final of the rugby
Sours are looking in the Capitol.
Speaker 1 (02:05):
We're actually looking to have a good weekend hand well
and not too much wind, just north northerly breezes throughout
the weekend, so it's going to be warm, maybe a
little bit of cloud around, but it does look to
be dry for the game.
Speaker 2 (02:16):
And Sunday the same because we've got the Phoenix playing
on Sunday.
Speaker 1 (02:20):
Yeah, it's looking like an even better down Sunday. We
might see a bit more sun. I think people might
be shouting out, welly on a good day.
Speaker 2 (02:28):
And I'm heading to Timaru for the weekend. We've got
motor racing there at Levels Raceway. How's how's it looking
in sort of mid.
Speaker 1 (02:36):
Canterbury Looking pretty good. Do just have like a sort
of broadly northerly flow across the South Island, so it's
going to keep it pretty clear. It does look like
it'll be on shore winds but maybe a little bit cool,
but you know, nothing really to complain about.
Speaker 2 (02:51):
I'm looking into next week as well. It looks a
little messy out there in the Tasman. What's it doing
next week?
Speaker 1 (02:56):
Yeah, we've had sort of broad low pressure just sat
in the peasant. Well, we've had high over us so
that's kind of bringing the moisture today. As we get
through the weekend, most of that moisture goes away a
few afternoon showers. Heading into next week, that high still
looks to hang around through the beginning of next week,
but as we get towards the middle of next week,
we're going to see some moisture start to make its
(03:18):
way up to the south end. This is probably the
longest stationary high pressure that we've had in a wee while,
but it's not without a few of those flies in
the ointment terms of moisture passing over the country.
Speaker 2 (03:28):
Long as it stays away for Labor weekend next weekend.
Speaker 1 (03:31):
Fingers cross. I've got a bike trip plan, so that
would be very nice.
Speaker 2 (03:34):
There you go, Lewis, thanks for joining us this morning
on the show. Have a good one.
Speaker 1 (03:39):
We'll do you too.
