Speaker 1 (00:00):
From the cricket field to the cow shed. It's the
Country Sport Breakfast with Brian Kelly on Gold Sport.

Speaker 2 (00:08):
Stay away from me.

Speaker 1 (00:12):
Well, the countdown clock is definitely ticking to the US selections.
Just over one week to go and it'll all be happening.
Amy Taylor joins us out of Washington, DC after following
the press on the Madison Square Garden appearance by the dawn. Amy,
good morning, Good morning.

Speaker 2 (00:32):
It was a fresh one this morning. Bk all of
whopping two degrees when I got up to walk the.

Speaker 1 (00:37):
Dog, Winter's sneaking up. So the countdown, as I said,
is on. And gee, the polls are still very, very
very tight, aren't they They are?

Speaker 2 (00:48):
Although I'd like to see the polls after what happened yesterday,
because all right, let's start with Harris. Harris continues to
talk policy. She's really been focusing on the middle class,
what some are saying, at the expense of the lower class,
which is I think going to be key. She really
needs blue collar, black and Latino voters. And so she

(01:10):
was out in Philadelphia yesterday courting, you know, courting Latino voters,
and she released her policies on Puerto Rico and how
she plans to improve things there and what's going on
with Puerto Rico. Meanwhile, Trump and his MAGA contingent were

(01:32):
in Madison Square Garden. You know, he likes to really
think he's the King of New York City, but not
so much. The New Yorkers really don't like him. And
something like eighty percent of the vote is not going
to go to him in New York is what they're saying.
But this event was frightening. It started off with this

(01:57):
this comedian who, in true fashion, without proving a shred
of evidence that he was a comedian, and it just
did not go over well. He offended pretty much every
minority there is to offend. He got the Latinos offended
in a way that the media has not even been

(02:18):
able to report on what he said because what he
said was so offensive. Really, he went after Puerto Rico,
he called it, They called it an island of garbage.
They went after the Blacks, they went after the Jews,
they went after Palestinians, pretty much everybody so and it
just went downhill from there. It was just shocking. It

(02:40):
was The New York Times called it a carnival of grievances,
misogyny and racism. Wow. And some are saying that this
is really going to cause Trump to lose the election,
and that when the political analysts look back on what happened,
they're going to point to this night as the pivot

(03:01):
point to him losing the election.

Speaker 1 (03:03):
Wow, that's amazing. You were seeing PRIs snippets of you know,
what he said and what happened, but we only see
all the people wearing the mega hats and the people
with the T shirts and everything else, the faithful filing
and absolutely loving them.

Speaker 2 (03:18):
Yeah, there was some statement that said that America is
for Americans and Americans only, and you know, immigrants have
taken over Times Square, which is just blocks.

Speaker 1 (03:29):
Away right right.

Speaker 2 (03:31):
What happened to America being you know, the land of
immigrants and that's how America started. It's just beyond and
you know, some say this is his biggest final act,
which is just blocks away from Broadway. You know, I
think I don't know, it's just all too much to
comprehend that that night, you know, hearkens back to an

(03:52):
event that was there in Madison Square Garden that was
just a Nazi event, a Nazi meeting years ago decades ago.
So just it was frightening really, well those posts.

Speaker 1 (04:02):
There's anything else going on now in the in the
US off a really with the with the elections looming
now just to you know, just have what six of
five or six days away?

Speaker 2 (04:11):
Yeah, very close, it's about just over a week away.
There was another report about this whistleblower out of the
Trump campaign who's speaking out about misuse of funds all around,
overspending on ad placement by top campaign officials who get
a percentage of ad placements as part of their compensation.
They've garnered about twenty two million from the campaign on

(04:35):
commissions from ads, and they're yeah, there's this whole thing
going on there, which is news, but no, the news
is all the news is the election all day, every day.
It's exhausting.

Speaker 1 (04:49):
I mean this time next week when we chat, it'll
be almost on our doorstair. It's going to be a
fascinating week, that's for sure. Always great to catch up.
So we'll talk again next week.

Speaker 2 (04:59):
Thanks BK, A good one.

Speaker 1 (05:00):
Amy Taylor are US correspondent out of Washington, d C.
You just had to imagine one week to
