Speaker 1 (00:00):
The Country Sport Breakfast with Brian Kelly on Gold Sport.
Well half we go to the Land of Hope and Glory.
Almost twenty minutes after seven o'clock, John Norman joins us
out of Talk Sport UK money.

Speaker 2 (00:20):
John good mor than to your BK.

Speaker 1 (00:22):
Hope you will I hope you are well and have
recovered from that narrow defeat by the All Blacks. What
a game last Saturday, Well it was.

Speaker 2 (00:30):
It was an incredible game actually, and once again, you
know England and the All Blacks have played out some
really close encounters both in New Zealand and England, and
for the third match in the row, definitely England have
walked away kind of wondering how they've lost. It was
and it was down to essentially the kicking, wasn't it.

(00:51):
Well that's the English take anyway. Look, it went right
to the end as we'd expect. Obviously All Blacks coming
into this series not quite the all conquering side that
we've kind of got used to over the last ten
to fifteen years. So the feeling was they were kind
of there. English English observers kind of felt that the
two tests that were played in in New Zealand had,

(01:14):
you know, a little bit of fortune had gone the
way of the home side, so they kind of facted
it was going to come back England's way. But decision
makings taking Marcus Smith off and obviously those two well
there was three attempted drop goals. They were all pretty
pretty poor and then of course the miss penalty as
well it cost England in the end.

Speaker 1 (01:35):
Yeah, absolutely, all right, Well it's two our attention to
the round ball game. Now Manchester City losing their third
game in a row.

Speaker 2 (01:44):
Yeah, absolutely unbelievable. Well is it unbelievable? I suppose when
we saw that Rodriy was going to be missing the season,
you know, everybody was very quick to point to Manchester
City's record when he played as opposed to when he didn't.
I think it was something that we spoke about. And
now here you find here we find ourselves in a
position where Manchester City are not just losing in the league,

(02:08):
they're losing in Europe as well, and when they're won
in up big loss for them against Sporting during the week,
last night and away at Bournemouth, and it means that
actually quite a lot of pressure is starting to be
rammed on them and the feeling is that, you know,
the dominance that they've enjoyed over the Premier League, which

(02:30):
hadn't really been you know, computed or done to the
same degree in Europe, they've really won the one Champions
League might be about to come to an end, certainly
was the likes of Kevin de Bruyne and Roger are
out the side and you've.

Speaker 1 (02:44):
Got Champions League. I think there's a game this morning,
isn't it. The Gunners are away at Intero Malayan.

Speaker 2 (02:50):
Yeah. Look, I don't know about you guys over there.
I always found when I was in New Zealand, actually,
in a weird way, the Europa or rather the European
football was easier to follow because of the time of
day that it took place, so you know, it gets
underway at a decent time in the morning. But conversely,

(03:11):
following Europe and European football has never been more difficult.
With this new Swiss league in place, nobody can make
head or tail about who's doing well or who isn't,
and it seems like only the fans of the club's
involved are really you know, watching and enjoying. But when
it comes to a game like Arsenal away into Milan,

(03:33):
two of the big clubs of European football. Then yeah,
absolutely everybody is back engaged and really interested to see
what's going on. Inter haven't actually been as strong as
they have been over the last couple of years this season.
And then Arsenal of course, you know, just as Manchester
City seemed to be, you know, running out of gas
and dropping points left, right and center. It's not Arsenal

(03:55):
that are seeking to capitalize because they themselves are losing
points in ground, so they couldn't have picked the worst
time to go and visit one of the famous old
teams in Italian and European football.

Speaker 1 (04:07):
That game kicks up at nine o'clock this morning, New
Zealand time. Hey John, always good to catch up mate.
We're looking forward to the match the All Blacks against
Ireland on Saturday morning our time.

Speaker 2 (04:17):
Yep, look forward to that, no doubt that will be
mentioned when we chat next week.

Speaker 1 (04:21):
Absolutely. John Norman, our UK correspondent,
