Speaker 1 (00:00):
Sport, the latest from the land and just great rock.
It's the Country Sport Breakfast with Brian Kelly on gold Sport,
your home of live commentary everywhere.

Speaker 2 (00:16):
Sixteen minutes after eight o'clock here on gold Sport, it
is time to check whether around the country joining us
out of the met Service.

Speaker 3 (00:30):
Lewis, First morning, Lewis, Good morning. How are we doing today?

Speaker 2 (00:33):
Very very well? Thank you. I'm looking at a big
map of the country at the moment, massive high off
the North Island. But there's a whole lot of rubbish
coming into the South Island, isn't there.

Speaker 3 (00:44):
Yes, absolutely, and probably most people have noticed. Been quite
sticky these last couple of days. I've got some very
warm air that seemed to hope down from the North
Tasman Sea, so as bringing that baseline warm temperature watch.
Then in those eastern parts of the country were seeing
very warm temperatures. I think that's Hawk's Bay might have
thirty degrees either today, tomorrow, maybe even Saturday. But on

(01:06):
the other side of the country, down the west coast
of the South Ald, we're seeing very prolonged heavy rain
from today through until I think we're getting to until
the evening of Saturday. Yes, there's some long running warnings,
some bigger amounts of rain. That is a very wet
part of the country, but could still be the kind
of rain that would cause issues over the next couple
of days.

Speaker 2 (01:25):
It's going to make it quite challenging. The Tour of
Southland is underway today. Well it's the League six and
seven finishing tomorrow, so I think it's going to be
pretty wet down the Southland region.

Speaker 3 (01:36):
Yes, there's a heavy rain what en forced today until
seven pm this evening and I imagine they're probably going
to have some pretty good headwinds for parts of the day.
It does actually look like kind of easier around Southland
so the rest of today, so they might be lucky,
might not be the constant headwinds that will be dealing
with that wet weather.

Speaker 2 (01:53):
New Zealand Rally Championship wraps up in the Far North
and the funger A region tomorrow and Sunday, so what's
the weather going to be like there.

Speaker 3 (02:02):
It does look like we're getting to that time of
the year we're going to start seeing those heat showers,
those afternoon showers popping up, so there might be a
couple of a round. It does look back called more
away from the coast, but there is still that chance
of some drifting over towards the coast or wherever the
rally drivers might be. So it's not going to be
wet everywhere through the afternoon. It just does present that

(02:24):
risk maybe a little bit heavier on Sunday.

Speaker 2 (02:26):
And show week next week is in Canterbury. It's always
a big week. It all gets underwey on Tuesday. How's
it looking next week for the for the Canterbury region.

Speaker 3 (02:35):
It does look like after we get sort of through
the weekend, this wet weather making it fun into the
west coast, we do kind of still have a high
pressure system still lingering around our shores. So as we
move through into next week, things still look to remain
on the settled side, especially through the working week. That
does look like it almost breaks down just in time

(02:56):
for the weekend the next week. You know, that's that
sort of distance that not going to have that sitting
stone just yet. But yeah, high through next week looks
like they might break down as we get towards the.

Speaker 2 (03:06):
Weekend, at least some as slowly getting closer. Hey, Lewis,
have a great weekend mate, and we'll talk again.

Speaker 3 (03:11):
Next week, easy, easy to chat.

Speaker 2 (03:13):
Then Lewis Ferris out of the MIT service. See how
about that? Hi? What was it for Napil? Around the
thirty degree mark, very very warm and Dee
