Speaker 1 (00:00):
From the sports field to the shearing shed. It's the
Country Sport Breakfast with Brian Kelly on gold Sport, Stay
away from Well.

Speaker 2 (00:14):
Now that the dust has settled on the US elections,
we move right along. We catch up with our US
correspondent Amy Saylor. Morning Amy, Good morning BK.

Speaker 3 (00:24):
It's a beautiful sunny fall day here today.

Speaker 2 (00:27):
Fantastic. The temperatures are only going to get colder. You
know that, don't you a over there?

Speaker 3 (00:31):
I do, I do. I don't mind the cold, No
bad weather, just bad gear, right right exactly.

Speaker 2 (00:36):
Well, now the dust has settled after the elections, you
know that Donald Trump's going to be the next president
of the US. The finger pointing, it's blown me away.
The finger pointing has started on what went wrong with
the Democrats, and everybody's blaming everyone.

Speaker 3 (00:52):
They are. We call it Monday morning quarterbacking over here
in the US. And it is interesting. Before the election,
I think I may have mentioned I read this article
about how Kamala has just run a perfect campaign. Well
that's certainly changed. Everyone is pointing the finger. I mean,
it's just remarkable. The clause have come out. They are

(01:13):
just eviscerting her and the strategy and the Dems the
fighting is just, I mean, really kind of appalling. But
much of the analysis really shows that it was just
a shift in voters. I saw this analysis on one
of the major stations that talked about freeing Trump being
involved in any election and now, and about twelve percent

(01:38):
of under thirties have shifted to Trump, twenty five percent
of people making less than fifty thousand shifted to Trump,
eighteen percent of those with no college degree, fifteen percent
of the black vote, thirty eight percent of Latinos, thirty
two percent of Asians. I mean, just huge shifts in
demographics that you just really would not have expected. And

(01:59):
it's really been kind of the Democrats going after the
you know, kind of educated upper middle class and ignoring
the working class. And it's reflected in the stats for her,
she picked up eleven percent of college educated and fifteen
percent of those with income over one hundred k. And
so that's really I think when it comes down to it.

(02:22):
There's another thing that I'll get into, but you know,
it's really going after the difference between the working class
and the white the white collar Americans.

Speaker 2 (02:32):
And I just wondered, too, is the US ready for
a woman president. I mean Hillary Clinton came close but
didn't get there. And we saw the same this time
round didn't get there. So are they ready for it yet?

Speaker 3 (02:45):
Well, let me tell you a little story. I have
a friend who did a lot of canvassing in Pennsylvania
and Maryland and Virginia for months. She was out and
about and she told me a story. We caught up
on Thursday. She was chatting with this one guy in
Virginia and said, oh, it's really important to you know,
vote for the DEM's down ballot. And he said, yeah, yeah,

(03:05):
I agree with you. And then he proclaimed, well that
he wasn't going to vote for Kamala and she said
why and he said, well, you know, there's just something
about her that he couldn't put his finger on it,
but he just he just didn't trust her, didn't like her.
And he had mentioned earlier that he liked that he
liked vivid Rumswami, you know, so he wasn't wasn't that

(03:27):
she was a person of color or anything. Not really
sure why he liked Vivic, but anyway, and he said,
you know, I really liked that other guy from California.
Who was it? And she said, Gavin Newsom. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
And he said that I would have voted for him.
And now you got to keep in mind from a
political perspective, Kama basically was raised at the feet of

(03:49):
Gavin Newsom. I mean, in many ways, she is Gavin
Newsom politically in a woman's body. And so you know
the fact that he didn't something about her he didn't like,
and he liked Gavin. I mean, could it possibly maybe
perhaps be that she was a woman, because you know,

(04:10):
I'm not saying that all those stats are wrong about
the people that shifted, but I really hate to admit that,
you know, the facts are still pointing to the issue
that America is just I don't think ready to give
women the rights we deserve, like bodily autonomy, pay equity,
job parody. And I'm sad to say electing a woman
to be president of the United States, I just I

(04:34):
don't see it at this point.

Speaker 2 (04:35):
Well, what we do know is that Democrats have got
four years to rebuild and find a suitable candidate for
the knixt election. In the meantime, I think, you know,
it's been accepted pretty well positively. Trump is going to
be the next president. The world has settled down, the
markets have reacted, and then things move on, really, don't they.

Speaker 3 (04:51):
Yeah, I mean, look, it is what it is, and
at some point you just have to change your mindset.
Like many things, you know, I think part of the
what in the work that I do for you know,
I have a seminar in resiliency, and the first step
is you have to allow yourself to wallow. But then
you've got to move on and you've got to page
your mindset and be positive and you know, see things

(05:15):
for the good side. I mean, the markets did rally,
you know, so my portfolio is looking great right now.
So I'll take that and you know, we'll see if
he can really, you know, do some positive things and
that's great. Absolutely hopefully he can.

Speaker 2 (05:29):
Absolutely. I mean alrighty, nice to catch up. Enjoy the
well as we say it heading towards winter, and we'll
talk again next week.

Speaker 3 (05:37):
Thanks, BK, have a good one.
