We're going to be little booties today and go.

Speaker 2 (00:13):
Chip jep jip jip. We are hoping.

Speaker 1 (00:15):
I noticed the other day tomatoes have come down a
lot in price, a.

Speaker 2 (00:19):
Lot bright like, well less than half of what they
were like six weeks ago. It's amazing, around twelve dollars
a kilo now anyway from four to six dollars a kilo.
There's cheap beautiful tomatoes too.

Speaker 1 (00:29):
I'm picking it's going to be a boomer tomato season.

Speaker 2 (00:31):
It looks like I don't want to say that too early,
it looks like it, mate. Ye you're coming on good.
All the salads are good. Actually, cucumbers caps comes are
down in price. They shut up for a while with
our backdown again.

Speaker 1 (00:40):
So we're going chep cheap, cheap, So tomatoes we know
they've dropped in price around the country.

Speaker 2 (00:44):
What else berry strawberries? Now you have six weeks of
strawberries right, We're halfway through November now, I believe it
or not. And then took Christmas to the strawberry, so
please buy the strawberries, folks are lovely. You know, around
four dollars a chip maximum you should be paying.

Speaker 1 (00:56):
Gave me a chip of strawberries the other day from
Pew pew down there somewhere someone grow.

Speaker 2 (01:01):
They were you'd some beautiful berries. The weather has been
nice for the berries. Blueberries and raspberries in there too,
so it's real summertime stuff in your salads and your
berries after dinner and stuff like that. It's good.

Speaker 1 (01:12):
And yet summer really hasn't kicked in, has it.

Speaker 2 (01:15):
No? No, the stone fruits at first love Apricots arrived
in the markets this morning too, which will be very early,
very small, and we really don't get excited about them.
Nectarines and cherries are there too, but like again, give
her two weeks in December, she will be on mate.
It's all we're talking about.

Speaker 1 (01:28):
Well, let's talk about vegetable prices as well around the country.

Speaker 2 (01:31):
Yeah, broccoli is reasonable. The supermacs are giving that away
around the North Island this week for nothing like a dollar.
She count down on TV advertising it's cheap, coulieflowers good buying.
Asparagus is lovely and again you got about six weeks
of good asparagus, maybe two months max. So enjoy that
while it's here. Local cousettes are on very reasonably priced too,
so veggis are good. Potatoes. You know, we spent one

(01:53):
billion dollars on potatoes in New Zealand last year, one billion,
one billion dollars with the potatoes we do.

Speaker 1 (02:01):
Hit the island.

Speaker 2 (02:01):
That's a lot of a lot of money and potatoes,
isn't it. Well, that's the fresh facts I gave you
the other week. You read it or not? No, typical
one billion, one billion on potatoes. There's a lot of
spuds in it. When you think about it.

Speaker 1 (02:15):
I suppose you know therese chips and them all up.

Speaker 2 (02:18):
Yeah, they all like the chips. So the new season
spuds are good. Pumpkins going down now. Things that aren't good,
you know that the lowering supplies apples, pears and kiwi
fruit supplies getting low. But that's typical. But when they
finished in two or three weeks time, bang all that
stone fruit things like that, so it covers it. So

(02:38):
give me very happy again.

Speaker 1 (02:40):
Forty three days till Christmas Day. Cherries. I suppose what's
the latest.

Speaker 2 (02:45):
Year well, we've got early cherries. They they're okay, give it,
as I just said a couple of times, give it
another two weeks. There'll be lots of cheries around them.
Be lovely, they'll be very very nice. You'll be happy.

Speaker 1 (02:55):
I imagine when we get into the same bill, just
be you know, the shot, the shells will be chocolate
with all every wonderful summer salad food.

Speaker 2 (03:03):
And everyone coming in shopping and demanding this and that
and want to be happy. Ye yeah, but the one.

Speaker 1 (03:07):
But on the on the downside of things that would yeah,
things like pumpkin and the camera.

Speaker 2 (03:12):
Yeah, all right, people aren't buying so much. Just not
winter anymore. It's summer. You know, the medals of change.
So it's okay, there's all there, Cumlin, everything's there. But
you know, and don't forget Ossie mangoes, who are to
eat you? Ossi Mango is very nice, reasonably priced, all
the cheaper in Australia. I should go and buy an
air ticket then you know, it's not two dollars about
two dollars fifty if that, if not this around the

(03:33):
five to seven here, you know that's not too bad.
It's just well that's right, you know, I know you
go and buy the ear ticket, so I know things
are looking good.

Speaker 1 (03:41):
Mates.

Speaker 2 (03:41):
He's reasonable. Buy your tomatoes are good, very good.

Speaker 1 (03:43):
That's the word from the Protoro David Stewant, have a
good Onedayvid, thank you. Coming up seventy to seven o'clock
here on the Country, sport Break
