the team at Fontira, and today we're joined by Hailey Ryan,
general manager for Global quick Service Restaurants. Hailey, good morning,
welcome to the show.

You've got some exciting news to share with us today,
don't you.
Speaker 1 (00:23):
Yeah. Last week Fontira was named the supplier of the
Year by McDonald's A and ZED And I know everyone
coin knows McDonald's, but just the context, they're the world's
largest restaurant brand. They've got forty thousand restaurants globally and
you know they seed more than sixty million customers every day,
so they are one of our strategic spread service customers.
(00:45):
So to be named supplier of the Year, it's just
a huge achievement and a great recognition for the whole
team that works with McDonald's and has been delivering to
them for years and years and years.
Speaker 2 (00:56):
See that's great news. Congratulations. So what products does Fontira
supply to McDonald's And we supply.
Speaker 1 (01:02):
Lots of dairy products to McDonald's but I guess the
one that is the key product that stands out is
the beautiful golden slice and sliced cheese that don their
big macs and quarter pounders all over the world. And
so we supply about twenty seven thousand metric tons of
cheese to McDonald's in the Asia Pacific region, So if

you're eating a cheeseburger and anywhere into that region, there's
a very high chance but that cheese has come from
alpham which is our site in Taranaki. And outside of that,
we also supply shaking sundaymics, which if anyone's got children,
they're probably hearing about the grammar shake that's going absolutely
(01:46):
gamebusters around the country.

Wow, absolutely fantastic. So what makes Fontira standout as a
supplier to global customers like McDonald's, Hailey, I think they.
Speaker 1 (01:57):
Really value the depth of knowledge and experience that we
have in the dairy industry. They really value the quality
of our products, but also our supply chain in the
robustness and resistancy that we can provide, because you know,
if you don't have the cheese siga on your burger,
you can't open your restaurants. So that's really key for them.

What makes you John's quite unique is that they offer
it what they call a three legged still model, So
they really had an emphasis on themselves, their franchisees, and
their suppliers really just delivering to their best so they
can deliver a great experience with your consumers. So I
guess how I see this award is that we're really

doing a great job on all those fronts with McDonald's.

So it's a great customer to have that, So sure,
and I reckon this is a great achievement for your
food service channel as well, isn't it.
Speaker 1 (02:48):
Yeah, it is, because whether you're making a big Mac
in China, do buy New Zealand, you know, you really
want that same flavor and same experience for you consume it,
And that's actually really important to the food service and
as a whole. So being able to deliver that consistent
result for the largest restaurant brand in the world is

a really great testament to the amazing progress that we've
made in the food service channel. And it's really a
great recognition and demonstrates that the progress and that that
is a really key part of the cult strategy growing
forward in an area where we're just going to keep
going from strength to strength.
