Speaker 1 (00:00):
You're listening to KFI AM six on demand.
Speaker 2 (00:04):
I'm Andy Reestmeyer. We're live everywhere on the iHeartRadio app.
Lots of news tonight here in southern California. Dodgers playing Toronto,
Game one of the World Series, tied at two right now,
top of the six two outs.
Speaker 3 (00:17):
Oh and it looks like I can't tell.
Speaker 2 (00:21):
What happened because I I'm very bad at reading lips.
We also have a pursuit happening right now LAPD in
pursuit of a possible du I suspect.
Speaker 3 (00:31):
We're listening to audio there from Sky five.
Speaker 4 (00:35):
And staying in that carpool line.
Speaker 2 (00:37):
So we saw him on the one thirty four earlier,
hopping off into North Hollywood. Possible du I suspect, according
to the Los Angeles Police Department. Now back on the
freeway through North Hollywood. So I've been doing some some doughnuts,
if you will. Currently at the one seventy north at
(00:58):
Sherman Way, heading north there on the So we saw
some North Hollywood a little bit earlier, maybe a little
bit of Van Nis popped over to Sun Valley and
Valley Glen and now back in.
Speaker 3 (01:07):
North Hollywood's been on the set.
Speaker 2 (01:09):
Like I said, heading north on the one seventy, it
looks to be a silver sedan of some sort crossing
the double yellow line out of the HOV lane. Added
to the list of violations there mixing the valley though.
Speaker 3 (01:24):
You know, as I've probably told.
Speaker 2 (01:26):
You before, this is my neck of the woods, because
we don't haven't had had a good valley pursuit in
a while. Last week we had a pursuit I guess
that was still this week on Monday ended pretty terribly.
Hopefully this does not end horribly. Hopefully this ends safely.
But the concern here is that he may be armed,
and so there was some distance from those units hanging.
Speaker 4 (01:47):
Back, and we do see that traffic starting to get
a little bit heavier up ahead here, So he's going
to run into that same problem he did at the
five Freeway going north where it starts to slow down
quite a bit. But for.
Speaker 2 (02:01):
Yeah, this is the point where do you hear share
Calvin and Rick Chambers there from KTLA.
Speaker 5 (02:06):
As this car starts making its way, you know, eighty
plus miles per hour and then you know you have
the pursuit package following him. You know, these moments get
even more dangerous as they you know, as the roads
start to get more congested, right and they're not seeing
this coming their way.
Speaker 3 (02:26):
Yeah, that's a Friday night.
Speaker 6 (02:27):
And if he heads down into the North Hollywood area,
which it appears that he is going to be doing here,
And then.
Speaker 2 (02:32):
I was saying he was heading northbound on one seventies
headed southbound from running like basically into North Hollywood into
Sherman Oaks into Studio City, crossing over Magnolia Boulevard. Right now,
he's got basically two options here. You can go one
thirty four east and head out towards Burbank, and that
looks like what the Laney's in right now. Or he
could go to the one on one south and head
(02:53):
down towards Hollywood, which is now he's making a left there,
crossing into the open lanes.
Speaker 5 (02:59):
Well, it looks like he's in here for some time now.
Speaker 2 (03:01):
Or is he cutting over under the one thirty four eastbound? Oh,
getting off at Riverside gil where are we? This is
a valley village, would be this area.
Speaker 4 (03:10):
The exiting off surface streets here, He's gonna go through
that and.
Speaker 2 (03:13):
Making a left turn there on the riverside, gonna go
under the one seventy freeway.
Speaker 4 (03:17):
So now he's back.
Speaker 3 (03:18):
He's yeah, we're gonna be able to see him in
just a minute here.
Speaker 4 (03:20):
How about that that light?
Speaker 3 (03:22):
Oh he blew the stop.
Speaker 2 (03:24):
You know you never get through that Tohunga riverside intersection
under the one seventies one on one split one thirty
four split rather without uh, without sitting and waiting forever.
He said, it's outbound on to Hunga now through valley village,
heading towards Studio City. He's going to really quickly come
up to Tahunga Village here, so uh to bud he's
but before he had a chance to hit up the
(03:44):
creation on too Hunga, he's taken it right here and
getting back on to the freeway. And it looks like
it's the one on one north which is gonna get
back into the la traffic on this Friday night.
Speaker 3 (03:56):
No easy ride.
Speaker 4 (03:57):
So we'll see what the driver does.
Speaker 2 (03:58):
The next opportunity has to do anything would be hop
off at Laurel Canyon after that cold Water, have.
Speaker 6 (04:03):
A few exits ahead of them that he can before
he gets to the four oh five out there.
Speaker 3 (04:07):
But you can hear Rick Chambers as you were breading
my mind.
Speaker 6 (04:09):
I'm a night seven ten on a Friday night, Traffic
is going to be heavy in various areas. People you know,
may be focused on other things, unaware that this guy
is going to be doing eighty.
Speaker 2 (04:20):
You've ever seen a pursuit from in real life before,
You've ever been on the freeway and seen one blow
by you like this, or I've seen him coming from
the other direction. It's a freak out team control of that.
It is a real scary thing. You don't know what's happening,
You don't know what like. You can be grooving to
your music, road went up the Hey.
Speaker 3 (04:35):
You know something that.
Speaker 2 (04:35):
I love that Conway always says is, whenever you're looking
at these pursuits, if you're listening to KF I am
six forty this evening, go ahead and flash your high
beams just for a second. One and you're in the
you're the pursuit car, Just to go flash flash your
high beams. We know now, well, no, it's you.
Speaker 5 (04:52):
The traffic is on the one oh.
Speaker 2 (04:53):
One crossing down Laurel Canyon here on the one oh
one northbound though really it's you know they're going west.
Speaker 6 (04:58):
He's heading north right now, so moving up past.
Speaker 3 (05:01):
Laurel Brick and I will have a meeting about that
later new minutes.
Speaker 6 (05:04):
Then Woodman will be coming up, and then he'll be
probably be about two or three miles from getting to
the four or five.
Speaker 2 (05:11):
So then he has another choice to make, because he
could obviously go back to the west side of la
or go back north to the valley. And I think
what we've seen so far is a lot of the
decisions that he's made have been heading up, going into
the deeper parts of the valley. He was in Sun
Valley earlier. We saw him all the way up in
North Hollywood and Arlita and.
Speaker 4 (05:26):
Then and out of traffic and passing these cars fairly easy.
But as he gets closer to that four or five,
it definitely has break lights ahead.
Speaker 2 (05:35):
That's for always really loads up there around Woodmember. So
if he's going to make a move here and avoid
the traffic, he's got one chance of cold Water, and
then he may be a chance of Woodman, and that's
probably yes.
Speaker 4 (05:45):
Here they're talking about trying to get a canine unit
into the pursuit in case that the driver bails out,
So we'll see if that happens.
Speaker 3 (05:54):
I hope not on the freeway.
Speaker 4 (05:55):
He is not in the pursuit, but are aware.
Speaker 6 (06:00):
Yeah, we had that last night. We had that pursuit
that came to an end on a cul de sac.
I think it was in Stanton where we had a
couple of K nine unit in case the people in
that car one on one North.
Speaker 3 (06:11):
But again, this gentleman that west there the traffic been
around that area a couple of times.
Speaker 6 (06:17):
Now the police cars behind you can see the brake
lights there as people moved to the right, which is
a great thing to be doing.
Speaker 2 (06:23):
When this guy's look at speeds though an hour it's
the bug on the case's passing you buy so quick
on screen graphics in traffic starting to build up in
front of him.
Speaker 6 (06:35):
We'll have to watch and see exactly what he plans
to do if he stays in one lane or again.
Speaker 3 (06:41):
Starts win there he go go, starts cutting over. This
is what we were waiting for.
Speaker 5 (06:47):
What will he do.
Speaker 2 (06:48):
Looking for a chance to get off here? Possibly woodman
at Van Nye's.
Speaker 3 (06:53):
We'll see if he stays on it or if.
Speaker 2 (06:54):
You were ever commuting to the west side from this
part of the valley. Van Nights is pretty much in
the morning, your last off and to get off, not
sitting bumper to bumper traffic. So but he's not going
to take the van's exit. He's still going to keep
going down here, uh on one.
Speaker 4 (07:08):
On one towards the four or five with the vehicle
l a p D of a possible DUI suspect. The
vehicle was splitting lanes between cars, which is really dangerous
and you know, people not knowing what's coming. All it
takes is a quick blane change.
Speaker 3 (07:25):
And I'm usually pretty good at identifying cars.
Speaker 2 (07:27):
I got to tell you, with the way that sedan's
look these days, merging.
Speaker 3 (07:31):
With they're all the same. He's got a number of
exits that could be a Toyota Camry.
Speaker 6 (07:35):
And people are not going to get a laundra by
in the slow lane, so again things could be a Chevy.
Speaker 3 (07:44):
It's hard to tell. There.
Speaker 6 (07:45):
We may see him turn off and take one of
those exits that's coming up.
Speaker 2 (07:50):
Next opportunity, and it looks like the exit will.
Speaker 3 (07:53):
Be some nights. Seeing the beam coming from the.
Speaker 2 (07:57):
One to one from the northbound lped interested of a.
Speaker 5 (08:00):
Possible du as he's going through. But now it looks
like there's some smoke coming out of the exhaust.
Speaker 3 (08:06):
Right, Maybe this is up it's a Nissan CenTra. There
we go. Did anybody have Nissan CenTra on your bingo card?
Speaker 4 (08:15):
Here's a look at the traffic.
Speaker 3 (08:16):
No, they're also non descript. They do look the same.
They all look the same.
Speaker 4 (08:20):
This is up ahead here, no doubt, four or five
freeway coming up on that.
Speaker 2 (08:24):
Okay, so here's the opportunity we're hedging. We're straddling. Oh,
looks like we're going to be going west bound one
on one roar four or five, not taking the opportunity
to take the exits to go north or south.
Speaker 6 (08:38):
Or up north again. So he's going to be staying
on what looks like this.
Speaker 2 (08:41):
I swear Rick Chambers is reading my mind there, because
I'll say a thing and then he says the thing
still on the right. But could it possibly be because
I'm looking at a feed ahead of.
Speaker 5 (08:50):
His, I don't know, and not just increases.
Speaker 2 (08:54):
Well, we're going to keep following this. I know that
mister Ronner wants to hop in with us.
Speaker 3 (08:58):
Don't rush on my account. What time do we have
to be out of here? I mean, what's the protocol
here for fifteen? A little give or take?
Speaker 2 (09:05):
Okay, all let's see if something happens here in the
next forty seconds or so, still on the one to
one freeway, here, next opportunity to get off will be
have in Hurst.
Speaker 3 (09:15):
I think if we go further towards the west.
Speaker 7 (09:17):
I am impressed with your knowledge of the of the
valley freeways.
Speaker 3 (09:21):
Oh yeah, that's nice. It was I right, which way
is he going to go? I think you have a
career in uber. You're strong at this. Thanks Bud. It's
especially good because that's right. Well, but you know what
I did when I moved to La You read the guide.
Speaker 2 (09:39):
I didn't get a GPS because I thought I want
to learn how to navigate these streets. But also, to
be fair, this is like a neighborhood that I've lived
in for about twelve years.
Speaker 7 (09:48):
So you were and you were abused with the Thomas
Guide in your younger years. It's all right, no, Tom, Tom,
you're going to learn the Thomas Guide. It's the wheel
or it's the wheel of pain. That's exactly right.
Speaker 2 (09:57):
Maybe so still on the one on one northbound year
through what is now in Cino, crossing over the four
or five freeway. Like I said, haven Hurst will be
another opportunity here followed.
Speaker 4 (10:06):
Up traffic in the slower pace a CHP.
Speaker 3 (10:10):
Sorry, I'm just listening.
Speaker 4 (10:12):
Possibly take it over here just a short.
Speaker 2 (10:14):
So they're talking about handing it off from the LAPD
to the CHP. A little more aggressive units who are
also the other police agencies out there. They may be
more willing to pit this.
Speaker 6 (10:24):
This drafts what's important than some of the others. And
obviously they know the highways.
Speaker 2 (10:28):
Weaven in and out of traffic, though now in the
number one lane, maybe looking for an opportunity to get
off the freeway here because we were going eighty ninety
miles an hour unobstructed, and now this Nissan CenTra, silver
Nissan CenTra that pursuits aspect we can, but not able
to do much except sort of weave in and out
of traffic.
Speaker 3 (10:45):
We saw him on.
Speaker 2 (10:47):
The the shoulder there as well a little bit earlier,
so that's it. We know that the four wheeling isn't
is not out of the question for this drive.
Speaker 5 (10:56):
We don't know if there are any other occupants inside
this vehicle.
Speaker 3 (11:00):
I'll tell you what. We're gonna keep looking at this.
Speaker 2 (11:02):
I'm gonna study the map a little bit that he
might have next time I see you, we'll have some updates.
Speaker 1 (11:07):
Andy Reesemyer here, you're listening to KFI AM six forty
on demand.
Speaker 2 (11:12):
Dodgers down by one, Toronto leading three to two in
Game one of the World Series. Dodgers pitching here. We've
got no outs, bases loaded, not looking good, and we've
got foul ball which was just hit there. So we
are also watching a pursuit here in the West Valley,
(11:34):
just passing Winetka here on the one to one north
a silver Nissan Centro, which I think is as far
as I can tell.
Speaker 3 (11:43):
These types of things. Now pretty much clear.
Speaker 2 (11:46):
To go all the way to Calabasas, down the Canato
Hoo Grade into Ventura County and more much thinner gil
seventy two miles an hour. Now, traffic really starting to
let up here past Winetka on our way to De
Soto Avenue one northbound, which remember, through this part of
the valley is technically west.
Speaker 3 (12:04):
It's a weird thing.
Speaker 2 (12:06):
But what we're expecting here in the next probably five
or six minutes or so, is that c HP will
pop in here and take over from the Los Angeles
Police Department. The suspect is a possible d UI suspect.
Speaker 4 (12:18):
They're not going anywhere.
Speaker 3 (12:19):
Possibly armed, at least according to the scanners there.
Speaker 7 (12:22):
Didn't it look for a moment like he was going
to get stuck in a traffic jam and the cops
who were just going to get him, which would have
been the most LA thing.
Speaker 3 (12:28):
Oh, it's terrible in what you would think was.
Speaker 2 (12:31):
You know, choosing to run on a Friday night and
go towards the four oh five freeway. I hope for
the I hope that he is d UI for that
only reason.
Speaker 3 (12:41):
So he's doing really well. Oh that's actually a good point.
Speaker 1 (12:45):
Yeah, what did he like?
Speaker 3 (12:46):
We were just talking about that. What is he suspected
to have taken? Creative? Wait a second, are we trying
to decide who to root for here? What the hell? Roner?
You know the rule?
Speaker 8 (12:57):
Yeah?
Speaker 7 (12:57):
You know?
Speaker 2 (12:57):
The rule in LA is like you kind of always
I don't know what it is you want. You want
to see justice serve, but there's a part of you
that also wants to see.
Speaker 3 (13:04):
Them get away. No, damn you. I believe in the law.
I can't the man.
Speaker 2 (13:09):
I agree with you. I just it's just the natural thing.
I don't know what it is. I don't like criminals.
I don't want criminals. I would say that the increase
in criminal behavior in California over the past ten years
or so has been a net negative. But it's something
within you when you're watching these pursuits. I don't know
what it is that makes you think maybe if you're
that person that you want to get away.
Speaker 3 (13:31):
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (13:32):
But they're crossing over now to Panga Canyon, the twenty
seven West Valley, coming up to Calabasas, were probably through
most of Woodland Hills at this point, but speed's now
in excess of eighty miles an hour. As Ronner was
saying earlier, a lot of traffic through the four or
five one on one interchange there and Sino in Sherman Oaks,
(13:53):
but now not a lot to get in the way
of that Nissan CenTra. By the way, I was curious
Nissan's centric gets between thirty and forty miles to the gallon,
you know, so this could be going on for quite
some time. It surprisingly only one hundred and forty nine
horsepower as equipped.
Speaker 3 (14:12):
Now did this.
Speaker 2 (14:12):
Driver spring for the sport package? These are details I
could never know, but I will say the uh, the
speed at which this car is moving, you know, holding
it at eighty or ninety miles an hour or one
hundred and forty nine horsepower, it's got to probably do
something to your gas mileage.
Speaker 7 (14:30):
Can I just say that the advent of showing the
speedometer in the top corner of the screen is a
great advancement in technology.
Speaker 2 (14:37):
Yeah, it is helpful, though I think it's it's kind
of not totally accurate because sometimes it'll go crazy and
sometimes it'll stop, and I think that it actually is
the air speed of the helicopter. So in this scenario
where we're tracking like Sky five, if you turn on
Channel five right now, you'd see we're right above this
Nissan CenTra in this pursuit, So that's probably around seventy five.
Speaker 3 (14:59):
Miles an hour.
Speaker 2 (15:00):
But if we're way behind and we're looking from a
long distance and we're trying to catch up, I don't think.
Speaker 3 (15:04):
That's super accurate.
Speaker 2 (15:05):
I will say that the addition of the locator as
well pretty amazing.
Speaker 3 (15:10):
We're living in the future.
Speaker 2 (15:11):
That tells you exactly where you are and where the
streets are, where of the roads are. They can bring
all up all kinds of details. KTLA by the way,
seven thirty. They're going into their regularly scheduled programming. They're
no longer interested in this possible DUI suspect I'm interested.
I'm curious. What's happened? And channel channel Yeah, sure, we'll
(15:33):
switch over to channel nine if you want. Channel four
still has them Channel eleven of course, Dodgers Game one, Tony,
any thoughts on the Dodgers. Now, we just had Toronto
score another three runs, five to two. Blue Jays back
up to bat faces loaded again, bottom of the sixth.
(15:57):
That's not looking good, right, that's not what we want.
Speaker 3 (16:00):
No, No, that's not how that's not supposed to go, right,
that's not how it's supposed to go.
Speaker 2 (16:06):
At least we got one out now here, five to two,
Dodgers down by three. All the broadcast networks are off this,
and I wonder if that's because they just expect this
to go on without much I don't know much fanfare.
As it moves. The pursuit moves here to the West Valley.
(16:28):
I kind of feel like I lost my momentum here.
I had a whole bunch. I had like thirty more
exits to go through. Okay, what an interesting thing. So
I guess the pursuit is still happening. We will be
carrying it Katla, rather will be carrying it on the website.
So if we want to find that, we can still
find that. As I think one of those things is
(16:49):
especially on a Friday night game one of the World
Series in Los Angeles. Game is obviously in Toronto, but
in Los Angeles, I think many people are tuned into that.
Maybe there's a sense of let's not take over the
airwaves when most people are watching Fox. Perhaps maybe there's
a calculated guess. But pursuits still going on now past
(17:12):
exit twenty two to thirty two, rather in Calabasas, which
would put CHP firmly behind this Nissan CenTra still going
about seventy five miles an hour. And I'll tell you what,
all the way towards Ventura County, there's not another car
in the way. So updates when we get them, we'll
bring them to you as soon as they become available.
Ron or how you been, Bud, In what sense do
(17:33):
you mean that you know, any sense that feels like
like that you want to share and that people might want.
Speaker 7 (17:38):
To I spent the afternoon on the phone with my
credit Union because they made a typo in my address,
and I realized that all my banking stuff was being
sent to the cornfield where the kid in the Twilight
Zone sends people that he doesn't like. So it's like
I got to work a little stressed out at how
about you?
Speaker 2 (17:56):
How are you doing? Hey, I'm great. I had a
much more chill day. I just editing. Yeah, I was
working on a piece for KTLA where I think I've
told you this before, like fifty percent of men think
that they can land an airplane in case of an emergency.
You know, it's like the airplane scenario where the pilot
had the fish. The copilot had the fish, and now
(18:16):
somebody has to land this plane. Is anybody able to
do it honestly? In the air is that's the last
place you want. The Dunning Krueger effect is that one
where people think that they're better at things than they
actually are.
Speaker 3 (18:28):
That's one way of putting it.
Speaker 7 (18:29):
Another way is that they're so stupid that they don't
realize how stupid they are.
Speaker 3 (18:32):
Oh that should be the name of my book. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (18:34):
Yeah, Because the less you know, the less you can
be you can be self conscious about and maybe the
better because you're not in your head about anything.
Speaker 3 (18:42):
Yeah, you don't want that in a pilot. No, you
don't want that in a pilot.
Speaker 2 (18:45):
But we went to a place called we Fly in
Pasadena and I tried it. I tried to land the simulator,
a seven thirty seven simulator in various situations.
Speaker 3 (18:55):
Did people live? And I survived every time? Oh? Nice? Mostly,
So we'll have that pretty soon.
Speaker 1 (19:01):
Here you're listening to KFI AM six forty on demand
by Mandy Reesemeyer.
Speaker 3 (19:09):
Did you see what just happened?
Speaker 2 (19:12):
Dodgers first game of the World Series tonight in Toronto,
Blue Jays versus Dodgers. Blue Jays now lead eleven to two.
I believe that you would say they are on fire.
And I'm watching I'm watching here on Fox this game.
(19:36):
Of course it's in Canada. They're showing the crowd shots.
A lot of very polite celebrating happening. There a lot
of very reserved cheering. You would not know from the
crowd that it is eleven to two. You would think
it was like maybe they were up by one. There's
a lot of reserved celebrating going on. We also got
(19:59):
that police chase started in La County, possible Dui suspect
LAPD was pursuing a silver Nissan CenTra through the San
Fernando Valley now all the way down the one oh
one west towards Venture County near one thousand Oaks, going
around eighty miles an hour.
Speaker 3 (20:15):
Nothing, nothing in the way.
Speaker 2 (20:18):
I don't know if there's going to be a spike strip,
pit maneuver, what's going to happen, But we're watching it here.
All the major broadcast stations except for k COL. Sorry,
so all the major broadcast stations have cut off from
from the Sorry, it's just it's a little jocularity here
for you this evening have cut off of the pursuit,
(20:39):
but that's still being carried on KTLA dot com. So
we'll check in here and there in case something interesting happens.
But I've got a guest who offered to call in
the kindest thing he could have done. Gary Cannon. He's
a comedian, a good friend of Casey Montoya, who's the
weather lady over at KTLA. He's been warming up audiences
for Hitch like the masked singer of the Voice Jennifer
(21:02):
Hudson's show. He calls Ken John a bud and joining
us now via the telephone. It's mister Gary Cannon. Thanks
for being on the phone with us.
Speaker 9 (21:13):
First of all, what an honor. I've been a fan
of this show for almost ten years. How long you've
been doing this show for?
Speaker 3 (21:21):
But I fill in two days a week, so, like
I said.
Speaker 9 (21:26):
I've been a fan for almost thirty six hours. This
is one of the major goals that I wanted to
accomplish when I moved to LA I said, I wanted
to get onto a KFI show on a Friday night
during forty AM radio, right during the.
Speaker 2 (21:40):
World Series Game one and when there's a police pursuit
going on.
Speaker 9 (21:46):
Two things. Let me say this, first of all, thank
you for having me. All kidding aside, thank you. I
will tell you were talking about why people think they
can land planes, and I will tell you this. Yeah,
I am in Michigan right now, and I don't want
to brag. I flew out here on Spirit Airlines, and
I will tell you when you see those pilots, that
is why other people think that they can fly the plane.
Speaker 3 (22:08):
That is why they look a little homely.
Speaker 9 (22:11):
You say they look like they just got out of prison.
I mean, honestly, it is one of those things, you
can you can see why people truly believe that they
can do it. Because listen, you're not going to say
that when you're taking a triple seven from LA to Australia.
Those those pilots look official right right, But these pilots
on spirit.
Speaker 2 (22:34):
Right, who's just doing the puddle jump from O'Hare to Detroit.
Speaker 9 (22:39):
Are that There is that situation where you see those people,
those pilots are fourteen years old, and you're like, wow,
this is a little insane. But I will tell you
I do believe that. That's why you guys think that. Now,
let me get to the police chase. I have KTLA
the app on my phone, and there's nothing better that
when I'm traveling. I was just driving home from the event,
(23:01):
and when I see that pop up that there is
a police chase in progress, There's nothing andy that brings
me more joy than seeing police chase in movement.
Speaker 1 (23:11):
Its great?
Speaker 2 (23:12):
Why do we want them to get away so badly?
Rona and I have the news anchor. We were just talking.
We had a bit of a disagreement, a friendly gentleman's quarrel. Okay,
I think part of me, a lot of me looks
at these pursuits, and I'm always like, go go, go go,
even though I know that they're criminals, and I don't
like that.
Speaker 9 (23:32):
We'll say this, if I were in a police chase,
two things I would do. I would either head north
on the five and head for the Grapevine because the
police helicopters are gone at that point, right, they can't
clear that. Two or two, because I watch enough of
these to know andy or two. I would go under
an underpass or in a shopping mall parking lot, and
(23:54):
you are as good as free.
Speaker 2 (23:57):
A very yes, a very well known spot. Go avoid
the police. Uh these days not as busy, so it
may be easier to stand out. But yes, we have
seen a lot of that. Also downtown Los Angeles, going
into one of the parking garage there because you're right,
the helicopters can't get over there.
Speaker 3 (24:12):
But I'm you know, don't I don't.
Speaker 2 (24:15):
Know that everybody would love us giving away secrets, But
I don't think that these are uncommonly commonly known things
in the world.
Speaker 9 (24:22):
We're in the business. Say you know this, doesn't it
bother you? When you see a guy park his car,
he gets out and he must be walking around for
thirteen fourteen, fifteen minutes before anybody even approaches them. You're like,
I could get to this guy quicker. Where is everybody?
Speaker 2 (24:37):
Yeah, well it depends on where you are, because if
you if you're running in Burbank or you're running in
in Santa Clarita, like, they'll be on you. They'll be
on you like flies on you know what. Yeah, that's
the place where you don't want to stop. But I
will say, here's an update in that pursuit. The helicopter
had to turn around in Thousand Oaks because of fog. Ooh, okay,
(24:58):
we got a new one. Now we got a new out. Potentially,
he's head on down to the to the coast. Try
to catch yourself. A little bit of a marine layer
there for a cover.
Speaker 9 (25:08):
That is That is another good one. But there is
nothing better. There is nothing. I will be at home
one in the afternoon and I'll hear that little jingle
breaking news and it is just I don't put pants on.
I keep drinking. It is just unbelievable. Let me ask
you this, Let me ask you this. Obviously you're bringing
(25:29):
me onto the show. The guest list must be slim
pickings so mad because if you're if you're calling me
and asking like who are you? Who are you throwing
up there, Randy, because I I this is I mean,
if you're calling me to do this show.
Speaker 3 (25:42):
Well we I assume I don't want to. I don't
want to aggressive lady. Yeah, well flow is flow.
Speaker 2 (25:47):
Actually it was our standing guest when she canceled, she's
she's gonna be I think that they're putting her in
a pinch hit for the Dodgers.
Speaker 3 (25:53):
They're doing so bad Ton.
Speaker 1 (25:55):
But I say it too.
Speaker 2 (25:56):
I will say I think that we had John Tash
a week ago. So that's pretty good. That's a pretty great. Okay,
he was great, good name.
Speaker 3 (26:03):
That's pretty much.
Speaker 2 (26:03):
Hey, you know, I mean, the reality is when you're
doing these shows kind of haphazard. Sometimes you're on, sometimes
you're not. It's tough to book that far in advance.
But I will tell you what, I'm happy that you're hearing.
You're such a great comedian. You've been a friend of
the show. I can't JLA for so long. I know
that you also work saving animals.
Speaker 3 (26:23):
We love that. We really respect it very k.
Speaker 9 (26:26):
I did Casey's event a couple of weeks ago for
fixing five ohs down in where was that? It was
mission Bah. I would do anything during the pandemic. I
had fifteen dogs. I was married. My wife eventually.
Speaker 3 (26:40):
Left, Yeah too much. Sure, we get.
Speaker 9 (26:43):
Divorced, nine with a guy. It worked out perfectly, happened.
Speaker 2 (26:48):
And that was just because you've saved fifteen dogs.
Speaker 9 (26:53):
She left me and then I was like, let me
explore the other path, which is men. And then I'm
now in a relationship with a bella. But I think
that all had something to do with my passion for animals.
Speaker 2 (27:03):
Maybe what I wish I had the uh, the education
to unpack that in a righteous way.
Speaker 3 (27:12):
I do.
Speaker 9 (27:13):
It's a lot. It's a lot thrown in a statement
over radio, trying to unpack that very quickly. But yes,
so that is true. But I do you know, Casey
has helped out, as you know, so many of my
dogs that have needed help and have gotten fostered and adopted,
and there's nothing better.
Speaker 10 (27:30):
I love it.
Speaker 9 (27:31):
Well, you were not at the golf outing. I didn't
see you down there two weeks ago.
Speaker 2 (27:35):
Casey and I don't speak in person. You know, we've
we've re established communication on the radio, but later in
real life we haven't we haven't figured that one out yet.
Speaker 3 (27:43):
Hey, a couple of things before I let you go here.
Speaker 2 (27:45):
First of all, Dodgers show, Hey just hit a home run.
Speaker 3 (27:48):
That's exciting.
Speaker 9 (27:49):
Okay.
Speaker 2 (27:50):
So now Dodgers at four to eleven, Toronto leading, of course,
eleven to four.
Speaker 3 (27:55):
What do you are? You a Dodger fan? What do
you think? What's happening here in this world right now?
Speaker 9 (27:58):
I am a Dodger fan. Let me ask you something,
because this is a million dollar question. I have friends
that if the game were this far apart, Toronto up
eleven by four, Yeah, are you a guy that would
leave the game in the eighth inning? Or do you
stay to the very end?
Speaker 2 (28:14):
I tell you what, this is a really kind of
dumb thing to say, or it's it's kind of a
jerk thing to say.
Speaker 3 (28:21):
Did I pay for the ticket? Well, that's what it
comes down to.
Speaker 2 (28:25):
If I paid for it. If I paid for it,
I'm sticking through all the way till the end. If
I paid a lot of money for it, I'm sticking
through all the way to the bitter end. If I
didn't pay for it, Ah, I'm saying hello, I'm saying
I'm checking out. You know, I'm thinking, I'm looking at
what you know. I will say this at the top
of the seventh. I guess it's not impossible for something
to happen here, but I don't.
Speaker 3 (28:45):
It doesn't look great. It doesn't look great for.
Speaker 9 (28:48):
Non World Series game a Wednesday against Tampa Bay. Yeah,
or the Marl idiot you sit through the whole thing.
Speaker 3 (28:56):
I'm checking. I'm checking the uber to see the rates
and how much it is to to get home.
Speaker 9 (29:00):
So, Gary, Andy, I have a buddy that will not
leave you. I don't care if it's twenty five to three,
he will not leave. I hate those kind of people.
Speaker 2 (29:07):
We'll tell you what. We could continue this conversation sometimes.
Please come in on a normal night when you're back in.
Speaker 9 (29:13):
Town being cut off.
Speaker 2 (29:16):
Coming John tesh Is you warmed him up. This is
your life as a warm up, right, you warm up
John tesh so he can come in and blow our minds.
But no, Gary, please come in and uh spend some
time with us. We'll have you back on a non
World Series night, on a non pursuit night.
Speaker 3 (29:30):
And we really appreciate it. Gary, Gary Cannon, where can
people find you?
Speaker 2 (29:35):
He?
Speaker 7 (29:35):
Uh?
Speaker 9 (29:36):
Just my website, Gary Sandon dot com I chose all
over the town in l a play the Improv Laugh
Factory almost place.
Speaker 2 (29:43):
Did you just get into a car? Did you just
turn like a like a beautiless saber on? I just
heard the chis a grandma chime?
Speaker 9 (29:54):
You may have heard that, but I thought you had
to go. Let's sen Andy, we have to let this
call go. You said, yes, now you're making it okay?
Speaker 4 (30:00):
All right.
Speaker 8 (30:00):
I love you everybody, and I'd love to come in.
Speaker 3 (30:03):
Yes, talk to you later. Gary Cannon, there you go.
Speaker 1 (30:06):
You're listening to KFI AM six forty on demand.
Speaker 3 (30:10):
Up ahead eight pm hour.
Speaker 2 (30:11):
We've got a lot more show to talk about, obviously,
the game that we've been watching, Game one of the
World Series, that will be wrapped up. If it's not
already wrapped up, you know, there's a little delay here.
We are just at the top of the eighth right now,
four to eleven Blue Jays, way ahead of the Dodgers.
But I guess it's it's not over until it's over,
(30:31):
as they say. Joining me now my co host from
a show that I do on KTLA plus the KTLA
streaming app that airs Saturday at eleven am and then
other times also I don't know when those are. Bobby Gonzalez,
Thanks for calling in, Bud. How are you doing this
Friday evening?
Speaker 8 (30:53):
This Dodger game is not going good.
Speaker 3 (30:56):
No, you're not happy about it.
Speaker 10 (30:58):
No, I just kind of came in towards the middle
of the game here.
Speaker 8 (31:03):
I was dealing with some dog stuff and then tuned
into the game and it was tied, and then now
it's not.
Speaker 2 (31:10):
Yeah, it's pretty crazy. And I know you're a huge
and pretty bad You're a huge Dodger fan, so this
is pretty heartbreaking. How how long is this bad mood
gonna last for you?
Speaker 8 (31:20):
Not very long, I should clarify, though, I'm like an
okay Dodger fan. I'm mostly a big fan of like
when things go well and you get all the free
food from the local fast food chains.
Speaker 10 (31:32):
I don't know if that's going to happen tonight.
Speaker 3 (31:33):
No, I don't think so.
Speaker 2 (31:34):
I don't think Panta Express is going to be giving
us any any orange chicken for free tonight.
Speaker 8 (31:39):
Chipotle, well, not even know if they do that in
the postseason.
Speaker 3 (31:42):
But you know, a man can dream, A man can dream.
Speaker 2 (31:45):
Indeed, by the way, tomorrow we've got a great episode
of Do It live we do. I want to play
a clip here, and then I want to ask your
your POV on this. This is from the most recent episode,
and this is about this is something that came up
randomly a conversation about Travis kelce the fiance of Taylor
Swift and also.
Speaker 3 (32:05):
Someone who's famous for other things, has just purchased Oh wait, yeah,
they're not married yet.
Speaker 2 (32:10):
No no, no, they're not married yet, but just purchased
or at least I purchased an interest in six Flags.
Speaker 3 (32:16):
Do you think that they asked him?
Speaker 2 (32:19):
Do you think the financial advisor is like, hey, would
you like to get an interest in six Flags?
Speaker 3 (32:24):
And he was like, well, sure if they did.
Speaker 10 (32:27):
That's the smartest business person ever to go to Travis
kelcey and ask if he wants to buy a portion
of their a stake in their scene parts.
Speaker 2 (32:38):
Well, I want to play this clip and let me
tell me, tell me some more. I'll stop it here
in a second and you can give me some more context.
Speaker 11 (32:43):
I remember one time when I went to six Flags
and I was warned, watch out a child, just like
you might get stabbed.
Speaker 3 (32:50):
Serious, right now, that someone warned you you might get
stabbed at six Flags? Yes, which street gang were you
going with? Though the Colors were a tweety bird. Everybody
in the gang name tweety.
Speaker 11 (33:05):
Before anybody comes at me, I just want to read
you this headline from the La Times from We're back
in eighteen eighty five, three years before I was six,
are stabbed, twenty one arrested and gang violence at Magic Mountain.
Speaker 3 (33:18):
Okay, So that didn't come from the very.
Speaker 2 (33:21):
Much parent behavior for like something to have happened three
years before you were born and still be bad about it.
Speaker 3 (33:25):
Yeah, ten years later.
Speaker 2 (33:26):
I mean my mom when I moved to La she
was like the Mansons lived there.
Speaker 11 (33:31):
I was like everybody thou and ten still so yeah,
in the nineties of the Mansons were one of my
biggest fears.
Speaker 3 (33:40):
Yes, have you got over the Mansons, Bobby Uh?
Speaker 10 (33:46):
I think so.
Speaker 8 (33:47):
I think I'm good with the Mansons now. I'm not
very afraid of them anymore, mostly because Charles Manson is
no longer with us I suppose.
Speaker 3 (33:55):
Yes, and he was in prison for like, do.
Speaker 8 (33:56):
You say no longer? Do you do you say no
longer with us for somebody that has an awful reputation?
Speaker 2 (34:04):
Yeah, I don't think you have to sugarcoat it okay, yeah, yeah,
he's dead.
Speaker 3 (34:08):
There you go. Well, thank you for calling in. It's
eight o'clock.
Speaker 2 (34:11):
I have to go for legal reasons, not because I
don't want to keep talking to you, but you're You're
a gem, a scholar, a gentleman, and I always love
your hot takes. So thank you for calling in, and
thank you for listening. And go Dodgers.
Speaker 3 (34:22):
I guess, go Dodgers.
Speaker 2 (34:24):
Thanks Bobby Gonzalez. It's kf I AM six forty. We're
