Speaker 1 (00:00):
Horror Vibes Coffee. We love Horror Vibes Coffee. What a
cool idea. I mean, any business that can can mold
itself with the strange and the spooky and the macabre.

Speaker 2 (00:12):
I am here for I think a lot of people
are here for it.

Speaker 1 (00:15):
And this began in January of twenty twenty two, Horror
Vibes Coffee. Omyra is with us and she ran with it.
People are most successful in life when they deal in
things that they get excited about, and Omayra is excited
about all things horror.

Speaker 2 (00:30):
And so what did she do?

Speaker 1 (00:31):
She put that excitement and passion into her business and
that is where we find us today, right, yes.

Speaker 3 (00:37):
Correct, even during the other holidays, right, I mean you
guys are still the horror vibe themes sticks around year round?

Speaker 4 (00:46):
Oh absolutely, Yeah, it's definitely we are here year round,
not just Halloween time.

Speaker 2 (00:52):
So yeah, it's really exciting.

Speaker 3 (00:54):
And when we talked last you were working on the
plan to open in Vegas and now you have.

Speaker 4 (00:59):
Yeah, we opened this year.

Speaker 3 (01:03):
What's that process like, I mean just the background of
trying to open in another state, another place like that.

Speaker 4 (01:09):
Yeah, it's it was definitely a process.

Speaker 2 (01:12):
It took us a.

Speaker 4 (01:13):
Couple months to open, and then that helped create build
the hype, create the hype, and once we opened, our
customers just ran over to us and it's been really exciting.
It's exciting to see that location grow. I'm from Vegas,
so that location is really special to me.

Speaker 1 (01:30):
So you are on Langasham in North Hollywood. What can
people expect when they walk into Horror Vibes Coffee?

Speaker 4 (01:38):
They will expect amazing art. We have a resident artist,
his name is Phil. Really good spooky coffee. Our coffee
is amazing and we have a seasonal menu that changes
every season. So currently we have our holiday menu and
our location is very so when you walk in, you

(02:01):
immediately feel the ambiance and that's something that I'm really
proud of that we created. And our brand is really strong,
so you definitely come in for an experience and you
will get that experience.

Speaker 3 (02:12):
Talk about the menu itself in terms of how you
come up with names, recipes, that sort of thing for
the drinks.

Speaker 4 (02:18):
Yeah, so we have We've expanded our team. So I
have my socials manager, my mixologist, myself, and my graphic
designer and we all get together we decide what the
the dieasonal menu theme will be and we get started.
We decide what flavor profiles, what films should inspire the menu,

(02:40):
and we get to work and it's really it's really exciting.
It's a really fun process. This season, it's our winter season,
so we have the Naughty List and it's based off
of classic Christmas films and their villains.

Speaker 1 (02:55):
You don't even need to walk into Horror Vibes coffee
to get the vibe.

Speaker 2 (02:59):
The entire exterior of your.

Speaker 1 (03:02):
Coffee shop is painted, as you know, highlighting the art
you were referring to. It is a very cool, very
cool feeling that you get there. And then also I'm
looking at I don't know what you call it, but
whatever you do to the top of the coffee, like
sometimes it's a hard home art, you.

Speaker 2 (03:20):
Know, they are, Yeah, and this is a spider web,
you know.

Speaker 1 (03:23):
And there's just different horror type things incorporated in all
of the recipes as well. Yes, what are some of
the names of the coffees, Like, is there fun names? Yeah?

Speaker 4 (03:32):
So from our signature menu we have the Scissorhands, Latte
candy Man.

Speaker 2 (03:38):
The work of our.

Speaker 4 (03:40):
This this season. For our winter menu, we have the
Cookie bandit's the Oogis bug Brew and the Mean One.

Speaker 2 (03:48):
Watch it.

Speaker 3 (03:48):
Do you ever get in any trademark issues? Anybody ever
come in until you to stop using their character?

Speaker 4 (03:55):
No work, I work while way around that, So we're good.
Unless it's a partnership, then we can use the officials.

Speaker 1 (04:01):
They probably love it too, and who wouldn't love Amayra.
There's a lot of Chucky I can see in some
of these pictures.

Speaker 2 (04:08):
Yes, terrifying. Chucky still terrifies me.

Speaker 3 (04:11):
But croissants, foods, pastries, what kind of where do you
get those from?

Speaker 4 (04:15):
Yeah, we have a local bakery that we get our
everyday pastries from, like croissants and muffins, some savory pastries.
And then we also work with another small business called
Deadly Sweet, and they have horror theme treats, so they'll
have cakes, they have crunch bars like fun like they're
like KitKat type treats, and then they also have cookies

(04:40):
that are also horror themes.

Speaker 1 (04:41):
Fun and what a good idea, like that's a fun
thing to bring over to like a Christmas party or
something right, like something that's different out of the box,
like a bunch of pastries or fun treats.

Speaker 2 (04:51):
And stuff to bring to Christmas.

Speaker 3 (04:53):
Tell me again your history. Are you movie buff?

Speaker 2 (04:57):
Clearly?

Speaker 3 (04:57):
I mean you got to have enough knowledge to get
these get some of the jokes that you're you're laying
into these coffees. But did you study film or did
you study restaurant tour?

Speaker 4 (05:05):
What?

Speaker 3 (05:06):
What's your background?

Speaker 1 (05:08):
No?

Speaker 4 (05:08):
I didn't. I I'm really into film. I did acting
for a very short period of time. I went to
school for political science, so I just learned along the
way really and then in the beginning I had a
mentor that helped me get started. But ever since from there,
I figured the best experience is just going in there

(05:30):
and doing it yourself. And I learned a lot and
it was it was difficult obviously that I you know,
there's a lot of growing pains, but that was the
best way to learn for me.

Speaker 2 (05:39):
How long did that political science major last? I did too.
I went in as a police science major. It lasted
probably about two weeks.

Speaker 4 (05:48):
Yeah, it's it's collecting dust in my drawer, my diploma.

Speaker 1 (05:53):
Okay, so you've what you did the whole program? You
you graduated with that? Yow.

Speaker 2 (05:57):
Yeah, that's so that's cool. I love it when people
pivot like that. Yeah, that up in the restaurant, your diploma,
that would be that would be good.

Speaker 3 (06:06):
Yeah, that's scles some blood for the horror movie fame
something like that.

Speaker 4 (06:10):
Yeah, that would be cool.

Speaker 3 (06:12):
Omira from Horror Vibes Coffee again. You can find him
on Instagram at Horror Vibes Coffee, the place in North
Hollywood there on Lancasham and of course the new place
right there on Paradise Road in Vegas.

Speaker 1 (06:23):
I'm sensing a collab with John Cobelt like heads on
a stick politician, that's right, Yeah, it would be great,
maybe something for the new year.

Speaker 3 (06:33):
Well, thanks for coming in, Omaira, appreciate it.

Speaker 2 (06:35):
It's good to see you again.

Speaker 4 (06:36):
Thank you for having me.

Speaker 3 (06:37):
You bet.
