Speaker 1 (00:00):
Okay, it's time for True Crime Tuesday.

Speaker 2 (00:02):
This is the stories are true, but the story is true.
That's true.

Speaker 1 (00:08):
No, it sounds made up.

Speaker 2 (00:10):
I don't know. I feel like we know that Guy,
Parry and Shannon present True.

Speaker 3 (00:15):
Crime Netflix is True Haunting quickly rose to the top
ten on Netflix following its release. The first three episodes
are titled Eerie Hall, and they focus on a chilling
story from the nineteen eighties.

Speaker 1 (00:32):
It's about a guy named.

Speaker 3 (00:34):
Chris dezser sessar CSI.

Speaker 1 (00:39):
Yeah, that's good, CCEI sounds good.

Speaker 3 (00:41):
Chris claims he was haunted by a spirit nicknamed Tommy
for several months when he was a college sophomore.

Speaker 4 (00:51):
Fall of eighty four. He goes to uh New York
College Sunni Genesio.

Speaker 1 (00:58):
State University of New York.

Speaker 4 (00:59):
Yeah, moves into Eerie Hall's C two D one dorm
and just after he moves in, he's an athlete, by
the way, scholarship cross country runner, he starts hearing a
disembodied voice calling his name. This presence that eventually manifested
into a full blown apparition that he and his neighbor.

(01:21):
It's always nice to have a corroborating story called Tommy.
He talked about how this experience impacted him years after.
They said, the last forty years of my life have
been in large part shaped by my time in Eerie Hall.

Speaker 3 (01:38):
It was the fall of nineteen eighty four, like you said,
when he was living there in that new dorm with
his roommate Paul, And he says it was after he
attended a meet and greet with Ed and Lorraine Warren.

Speaker 1 (01:55):
Ed and Lorraine Warren.

Speaker 3 (01:56):
Had come to campus to discuss their history with the paranormal,
playing electronic voice phenomena alongside insights into their work side note.
When we were just in Nashville for the game at
our team hotel there right on Broadway downtown Nashville.

Speaker 1 (02:18):
I had gone out for the day, I'd come back.

Speaker 3 (02:20):
And there was a line of people snaking around the
Hyatt there, lined up to go to some event and
there was just tons of people crawling in the hotel.

Speaker 1 (02:31):
And I'm like, what is this?

Speaker 3 (02:33):
I asked one of the women, and she says, Oh,
it's a supernatural convention. And I go, oh, we should
have gone to this. You know, it's all about the supernatural.
She's like, no, the show Supernatural. WHOA And This was
a show that ran from like two thousands.

Speaker 2 (02:51):
My kids used to watch it all the time.

Speaker 3 (02:53):
Really, I know of it devoted fans. I mean these
people had dressed up, there.

Speaker 1 (02:59):
Were a hundreds of them.

Speaker 3 (03:01):
I mean they had filled the whole neighborhood, the whole hotel.
I was insane, predominantly women. I never watched an episode
of it, but it piqued my interest.

Speaker 1 (03:11):
I mean, what a devoted following.

Speaker 2 (03:13):
I think Hardy Boys meets The X Files.

Speaker 4 (03:16):
Okay, that's okay, that's cool, A simple discribtion.

Speaker 1 (03:19):
Yeah, that's a cool description. Okay.

Speaker 4 (03:21):
Well, during this meeting Ed and Lorraine Warren again, these
supernatural Explorers and Chris. Lorraine told Chris she wasn't going
to shake his hand because she didn't want to know
his future, and he was then thrown off stage by Ed.
About eleven days later, Chris began hearing what he said
was a disembodied voice calling out his name from his room,

(03:46):
and it progressed over the next few days, eventually materializing
into a full blown, full body apparition.

Speaker 3 (03:55):
He wasn't sure at the time if he was going
completely crazy or or something was happening that he couldn't
explain he thought, He said, I thought I'm losing my mind.
I couldn't tell if what I was seeing or hearing
was true. I didn't know if this was reality or
if I'm just caught up in this never ending nightmare.
Up until that point, no one could see it but me,
and I didn't know how to.

Speaker 4 (04:16):
Live with that, he said. The spirit eventually spread to
his roommates. The roommate could see it, who later left
the room entirely after concluding that there was a dead
thing in the dorm.

Speaker 1 (04:29):
They said they recognized the severity of the situation February fourteenth,
nineteen eighty five, and decided to test the validity of
their claims by attempting to photograph the ghost.

Speaker 2 (04:44):
So how do you invite a ghost into your room?

Speaker 4 (04:46):
Well, in this case, they said, Chris just stood there
by putting his arms out wide to invite the ghost in,
and the closet door opens and he comes face to
face with what he said appeared to be a face.
The roommate sees that Chris's stun decides to take a
photo of the closet, but he didn't capture anything. Chris

(05:06):
said the photo must have infuriated the ghost because the
spirit then came right at and right through them, which
forced him to fall to the ground. We all saw
that in Ghostbusters in March.

Speaker 3 (05:21):
The next month, he says he was physically wounded in
the shower by the ghost too. They started calling Tommy
that the ghost left three deep wounds, including claw marks
on the runner's back. There was an exorcism, there was
a spirit of a lieutenant that was talked about. We

(05:41):
don't want to spoil it for you in case you want.

Speaker 2 (05:44):
To watch a great Halloween watch.

Speaker 1 (05:46):
But I would love for us to have a ghost
in here. Wouldn't that be great? Now?

Speaker 3 (05:52):
It probably one of us will see the ghost and
then the other we'll see it, just like what happened
with Eerie Hall.

Speaker 1 (05:58):
But I would love a ghost to be in here.
The spice things up a little bit.

Speaker 2 (06:01):
Well, just do what Christa just opened your arms?

Speaker 1 (06:03):
Open my arms, Hello ghosts.

Speaker 2 (06:05):
I'm sure I want to play with that ghost, But what.

Speaker 3 (06:08):
Do you mean to play with it? It's just gonna
hang out and do the show with us. What do
you want to name them? You're assuming you come with
a name, or do we name them?

Speaker 4 (06:15):
Probably if it's a disembodied spirit from a past person.

Speaker 1 (06:19):
It's going to be female.

Speaker 2 (06:21):
Oh great.

Speaker 3 (06:22):
I think that she is going to come with baggage because,
trust me, the stuffed animals
