KFI AM six forty.

Speaker 2 (00:08):
It's Later with mo Kelly. Time to talk free Movies

Visio Watch Free Plus App.

Speaker 3 (00:24):
Kfis Later with Mo Kelly and Chris Woolsey will Live
Everywhere on the iHeartRadio app. And Chris is so good
to see. It's been a minute since you've been in.
But I know you've been busy going out there evangelizing
all things Visio and the Watch Free Plus App.

Speaker 2 (00:37):
How you been, man? Oh, but I am better now
that I'm in your presence.

Speaker 3 (00:42):
We're better because you're in our presence because you actually
brought some food. You know, the easiest way to our
heart is through our stomach. Well, I got to keep
you guys well fed. You got to be energized when
I'm here, right. I think it's because you know that
whenever you come in, you always hear about us, how
we always have food or someone bringing us food, usually
on Tuesday nights, for example, Nick Poliochini. This weekend with Nick,

(01:05):
he will bring us food. Nice And he just said,
let me just go ahead and get on this food thing.
So you brought us some some crab cakes.

Speaker 2 (01:12):
You brought us some shrimp, ca what did you bring?

Speaker 4 (01:15):
I think there's like shrimp and pork burritos. There's crabcake sliders.
I had crabcake Slider's some sort of avocado rolls going on. So,
you know, I'd just like to keep you guys hopped
up while I'm here.

Speaker 3 (01:29):
We definitely appreciate that, but that's not why you're here.
You're here to talk about some movies, the latest offerings,
free offerings, visio Watch, free plus app.

Speaker 2 (01:39):
What do we have going on? As we are midway
through September?

Speaker 4 (01:43):
Sure, so you know September the kids are going back
to school. Things have been a little weird the last
few years maybe, but particularly the last couple of weeks,
and we thought, you know, with school and everybody could
use some laughs. We've got some school related comedies going

(02:04):
on currently. I'm gonna start with one of my favorites.
This is the nineteen ninety comedy Classics starring Arnold Schwarzenegger
Kindergarten Cop.

Speaker 2 (02:18):
No You No. I love that movie. It's so much fun.
It's not a tuma, that's it. It's one of the
most is not a duma.

Speaker 4 (02:29):
I was talking to my wife the other day, I'm like,
you know, for somebody that a lot of people don't
think is really a great actor, which I disagree wholeheartedly with.
But he has some of the most iconic lines in
all of cinema history.

Speaker 3 (02:44):
He has, I should say, he back at that point
in his career, he improved greatly. Let's listen to this.

Speaker 2 (02:54):
I just hold you lunches. You mean you other people's lunches, bagage.
Now we are going to do something extremely fun. We're
going to play a wonderful game called Who is My Daddy?
And what does he do? Yes? Is your daddy a fireman?

(03:18):
He's probably bid.

Speaker 5 (03:19):
Is he a wrestler?

Speaker 2 (03:20):
Is he a basketball coach?

Speaker 3 (03:22):
No?

Speaker 2 (03:22):
No, no, no, no, no, no no, it's a matter.
Oh I have a headache. It might be a tumor.
It's not a tuma. It's not a tumor at all, exactly.
I just told you. I'm sorry, but go ahead. I
just had to play that.

Speaker 4 (03:35):
It's so good and how cow cute is Penelope and Miller.
She's in one of my favorite comedies of all time,
The Freshmen, which I adore that film and I feel
like nobody talks about it, and they should.

Speaker 3 (03:46):
That movie was thirty five years ago. Yeah, thirty five college.
I know, I know, it's so depressing. I don't know
what happened. Sam wasn't even born yet.

Speaker 2 (03:56):
I was born. I was just in high school. Mark
was like twenty eight.

Speaker 5 (04:00):
I was a toddler, A toddler, a tuba.

Speaker 2 (04:06):
I'm sorry, good, No, But.

Speaker 4 (04:08):
To continue on the the educational theme, we're gonna go
with nineteen ninety two's in Sino Man, which is in
under talked about.

Speaker 2 (04:20):
Jim.

Speaker 4 (04:20):
I love this film. It is so stupid and it
makes no sense whatsoever. The science is completely bogus. Look,
I am a poly Shore fan. Yeah, and he's actually
been a guest on this show. Hes he Yes he
has been, Yes, he has been.

Speaker 3 (04:36):
Oh my gosh, he's still doing all things comedy.

Speaker 2 (04:39):
Yep.

Speaker 3 (04:40):
But it's one of those things where like it's one
of those guilty pleasure. I like Polly Shore, I like
Will Ferrell, I like the Jim Carrey the physicality in humor.

Speaker 4 (04:52):
Yes, and I love I think Brendan Fraser is brilliant
in this film.

Speaker 3 (04:57):
He's he's really really good. His his acting ability has
never been in doubt. It was just a matter of
whether he still wanted to do it.

Speaker 5 (05:05):
Yeah, yeah, sure, as you're suggesting the science in Encino
Man doesn't hold up to a rigorous review.

Speaker 2 (05:11):
Is that? Did you just ruin it for everybody?

Speaker 4 (05:13):
The fact that there is a glacier underneath the pool
they're digging in in Sino California like one of the
hottest cities in America.

Speaker 2 (05:22):
Yeah, what's next? What's what's left to believe him? Oh?
I know it?

Speaker 4 (05:26):
And you know who is great in this film is
Michael Delowiz And yes, yes, the bully, and I don't
think he acts anymore.

Speaker 2 (05:33):
I looked him up on IMDb and it like sort
of drifts it off and they like he was in
twenty one Chump Street. He was no Peter. That was Peter,
That's right.

Speaker 4 (05:42):
So I once got to meet the whole Deloise clan.
I tell the story really quick because I love it.
So I had just moved to la and I was
working at Tony Roma's a place for ribs at the
West Pavilion, which doesn't exist anymore on Pico And like
my third night, I go walking up to the table

(06:03):
and I look and it's Dom DeLuise sitting at the
table the Dom DeLuise. I bet Dom could put away
a rack. Oh it was all you can eat rib night.
That's all I'm saying. That's all I'm saying. But I
almost fell over. I couldn't be I didn't know what
to say. And the whole clan was there. So Michael
was there, Peter was there, Dom was there, and and

(06:25):
the mom was there, and they were, without a doubt,
the loveliest family. So Dom starts asking me about myself,
what I'm doing in Los Angeles where I was from, moves,
moves everybody down at the table and says, please, Chris
sit down with us. So he asked me to sit
down at the table with his family and talk.

Speaker 2 (06:47):
The Dom Delouise. Captain Chaos, I'm telling you, JJ, nobody
can tell.

Speaker 6 (06:54):
Us now, nobody, what are you? Some kind of nuts?
Who do you think you are?

Speaker 5 (07:18):
Of it?

Speaker 6 (07:19):
I I'm Captain Chaos.

Speaker 2 (07:24):
I'm sorry. I just had to shout out to Doc Delawize,
rest in peace, yep, God bless him.

Speaker 4 (07:29):
So anyway, lovely family, Michael Delouiz, love him in and Sino, man.

Speaker 2 (07:34):
I know you got one more before we go to
break hmm.

Speaker 4 (07:37):
Yes, I do. And this is actually one of my
it's non educational. This is one of my favorite comedies
of all time. If if I turned the TV on
and any part of this movie is playing, I have
to sit down and watch the entire film. And that
is the two thousand comedy classic Caper Classic Snatch, directed
by Guy Richie.

Speaker 3 (07:56):
I'm glad when you say caper classic, yeah, because I
think of it more of a caper than a comedy.

Speaker 2 (08:00):
It definitely is. It's a caper with massive comedic moments. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (08:04):
And you don't think of generally Brad Pitt comedy. You
don't think of Jason Statham generally comedy, even de Yeah.

Speaker 2 (08:15):
Yeah, like.

Speaker 4 (08:18):
Yeah, but not like you don't think of anybody's like,
laugh out loud. Everything in this movie is funny. I mean,
the cast is unbelievable. Vinnie Jones, Stephen Graham, God bless him.
We just lost Dennis Farina a little while ago, one
of my favorite character actors of all time from Law
and Order. Yes, absolutely, but Brad Pitt is so good

(08:41):
in this movie. I mean, his his so he's he's
like a Pikey, which I guess is a British Gypsy,
and his accent is so strong that when you watch
the movie, at one point the guy who is doing
the subtitles just put question marks at the bottom of
the screen because he had no idea what Brad Pitt
was saying.

Speaker 2 (09:00):
It's bonkers, but what a great movie.

Speaker 3 (09:03):
Joining us in studio is Chris Wolsey. He's finally back
from Visio TV. We're talking about the Watch Free Plus app,
some of the free offerings of the thousands upon thousands
of movies which are available right now. More with Chris
Woolsey and just a moment with KF I AM six
forty left everywhere the Heart Radio app.

Speaker 1 (09:18):
You're listening to later with Moe Kelly on demand from
KFI AM six forty.

Speaker 2 (09:26):
KFI. Mister Kelly, you're Chris Woolsey. We're live everywhere on
YouTube and the iHeartRadio app. And let's get back into
these movies.

Speaker 3 (09:34):
We were enjoying the shrimp and crab cakes and all
the other good stuff that Chris brought for us to
eat during the show. Again, thank you very much for that, Chris.

Speaker 2 (09:45):
Turn us Mike, please all right, here we go. Chris.

Speaker 3 (09:49):
You told us about some great movies and comedies in
the first portion of our conversation.

Speaker 2 (09:55):
What do you have for the second portion?

Speaker 4 (09:57):
Well, I think besides laughter, I think we could also
use a little escapism right now as well. So we've
got some great adventure flicks on watch Tree Plus for
free this month. Now, this first one, it's it's gone
down in film history as one of the greatest flops

(10:18):
in cinema history. I am here to tell you that
not only is it not a fantastic film, it is
a fantastic film.

Speaker 2 (10:28):
It's also not a flop. It actually made money.

Speaker 3 (10:31):
Well wait, you're saying that this movie is not bad
and it made money.

Speaker 2 (10:36):
Yes, both things be true.

Speaker 4 (10:39):
Absolutely. First of all, you know good bad. That's you know,
a little subjective. But I love this film. I think
it's super fun. So this is nineteen ninety five Kevin
Costner's you know, no, yes, no, yes, no. You may
know it as Fish Tar or or or Kevin's Gate,

(11:02):
but this is Battle Costner.

Speaker 2 (11:06):
Nice.

Speaker 4 (11:07):
Nice, But this is the nineteen ninety five apocalyptic dystopian
classic water World.

Speaker 3 (11:14):
Okay, this is the first time I think we're going
to have to have a misunderstanding. Yes, here, I rewatched
water World about maybe three or four months ago in
preparing for a day of that movie called Classic. Yes
I didn't pull it, but I was watching it and
I saw how much money. You could really see how
much money was spent on that movie, and I remember

(11:37):
how it was vilified it when it came out. You
say it made money, are we talking about tens of dollars.

Speaker 4 (11:45):
Or well so it it made one hundred So it
made two hundred and sixty four million against what was
supposed to be one hundred million dollar budget. So if
they had not had the disasters on set, I think
they Yes, they had a hurrican fire four times a day,
like people were like severely injured. They had to shut
down filming like one hundred and seventy five times. It

(12:08):
ended up the budget ended up ballooning to one hundred
and seventy five million.

Speaker 2 (12:12):
But between the long tail of streaming.

Speaker 4 (12:16):
And the studios re release, well, no, the theme park
show ran.

Speaker 2 (12:25):
The water World show ran for like thirty years. I
think it's the longest live theme park show in like
theme park history or some crazy thing like that.

Speaker 3 (12:37):
I thought that it was going to be when it
first came out, that it was going to be mad
Max to Road Warrior on water. Yeah, that was my
comparison point, sure, and I think that's probably a pretty
fair comparison. But you do you well, Now, the science
in this also a little bit hinky.

Speaker 4 (12:58):
He had guilty evolved gills over a single generation generation?
Did your parents honeymoon at Like? How did you get
gills in one generation?

Speaker 2 (13:09):
Oh? We can't do that? Yeahs yet, we don't know
that it can be done.

Speaker 4 (13:14):
What else are you going to ruin tonight, Chris, Well,
we're not going to ruin it, but we are going
to tell folks about Desperado nineteen ninety five. Okay, the
so a lot of people say that this is the
sequel to El Mariachi, but Mark backed me up on
this one.

Speaker 2 (13:32):
It's a hot take. It's not a sequel, it's a remake.

Speaker 5 (13:35):
It's just more like, right, yes, yeah, it's more like
Evil Dead too.

Speaker 2 (13:39):
Is not a sequel to Evil Deadly?

Speaker 4 (13:41):
Yes, that that's the exact comparison I made earlier today.
Oh yep, psychic, I know we're simpotica. We have gills
in one generation? Right, but yeah, so much fun. Written
and directed Robert Ariguez. This was his second film. He
he wellossibly apocryphal, but he produced El Mariachi for seven

(14:05):
thousand dollars.

Speaker 2 (14:05):
Whether it's his credit card or something. Yeah, that's the legend,
isn't it.

Speaker 5 (14:09):
Yes, And I don't know if I ever bought that's
that's a preposterously low amount of money.

Speaker 4 (14:13):
I have been told if you don't put post production
into it.

Speaker 2 (14:17):
It was seven thousand dollars. Okay, so just the cost
of film.

Speaker 4 (14:20):
But then they like when he got just distribution, they
actually gave him a chunk of money to go back
and like polish it up. So I'm not sure what's true,
but I will say the book Rebel Without a Crew
is one of the that it's his diary making El
Mariachi is one of the most fascinating reads you'll ever
I mean, it's a miracle a that everybody involved didn't die,

(14:43):
and that he didn't I'm.

Speaker 3 (14:45):
Thinking about death fro It was like Daddy Trejo, Salma Hayek,
Quentin tarant Antonio Ben DAAs. I mean, you know they
had they had a hell of a cast. Steve Buscemi,
that's right. You wouldn't be able to get that cast
back together. No, no, absolutely not. But it is so
much fun. I love this movie.

Speaker 4 (15:05):
I think they did a great job of like making
it a sequel, but really like remaking the original because
it's such a great story.

Speaker 2 (15:12):
We got one more minute, give us one more. If
you can't, I can.

Speaker 4 (15:15):
This is a movie that I want to I want
to know Mark's take on this, because a lot of
people love this film and I am one of them,
and a lot of people do not like this film.
And it's nineteen ninety five. Wolfgang Peterson's in the line
of fire.

Speaker 3 (15:30):
Love it me too, Sean Malcovich so creepy it Eastwood?

Speaker 2 (15:34):
Yes, yes, you love it. Mark. If you disagree, I'll
turn off your bike. No he brought food. No, it's
legitimately a decent movie. It's it's not.

Speaker 5 (15:45):
I didn't think it was great, but I thought it
was watchable, and I'm going to watch anything Eastwood is in.

Speaker 2 (15:50):
Totally. It's a great popcorn film.

Speaker 3 (15:52):
Look, I think it set the standard for John Malkovich
as a villain.

Speaker 2 (15:56):
Yep. Yeah, I think it all spirals back from this one.
He was outstanding as a villain in that film. I
think it atally underrate agreed, Agreed?

Speaker 3 (16:07):
Was he originally the person who's supposed to play Kevin
Spacey's part and seven.

Speaker 2 (16:11):
Did I read that somewhere? I want to believe I
have not heard that, but that's fascinating. I think there
that might be true. If not, then let me just
make up that rumor right now. But I'm actually being serious.

Speaker 3 (16:21):
I thought that he originally was supposed to play the
serial killerod casting. I love that, but instead we got
skip Kevin Spacey and the rest. As they say, it's history, Yes,
yes it is, and around that time.

Speaker 2 (16:33):
Yeah. Uh, in the Line of Fire. It's one of
my favorites.

Speaker 3 (16:36):
Love it. Yeah, beautiful. I'm so glad that Mark at
least thought it was a decent movie.

Speaker 5 (16:40):
No, you want to see Wolfgange Peterson get a shot
at a big budget Yankee movie after dost Boot.

Speaker 4 (16:46):
Yes, true, of course and dost Boot. Gosh, just I
could watch it once a month. It's so good.

Speaker 2 (16:52):
Did you watch it as dost Boot or the boat?
I watched it as dost Boot because.

Speaker 3 (16:57):
Depending on the version you saw, you know, yep, never mind,
you don't yep. Chris is always great to see you,
always great to be seen by you. Make sure you
bring us some food in the future.

Speaker 2 (17:06):
Done and done.
