Speaker 1 (00:00):
You're listening to KFI AM six forty on demand.
Speaker 2 (00:05):
In the last hour.
Speaker 3 (00:06):
I asked, does anybody know what music video might have
been filmed at Universal Studios Orlando, Florida in the early
two thousands where there was a scene of like New
York Street in the theme park, kind of the backlot,
but actually in the theme park where they flooded the street.
(00:26):
We put a call out to every single one of
the ten to fifteen million people in the in the
listening area. And it's night, so am radio goes even
further than usual, so it could be forty million people
at this point. You think that's right? Fush, you think
forty million people are listening right now.
Speaker 4 (00:44):
Give or take it?
Speaker 2 (00:44):
I think so.
Speaker 4 (00:46):
It could be listening to on the other side of
the world with the iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 2 (00:49):
That's right. So okay, there you go.
Speaker 3 (00:51):
Six and a half seven billion people are listening tonight.
We had two callers, one who couldn't hang through the
Zelman's commercial. Your mistake, sir, and Drew. Who is on
the line here? Drew, You're on caf I AM six forty.
Do you have an answer for us this evening?
Speaker 5 (01:14):
Yeah, and hopefully you give a little backstory on the
lead singer. If this is the right band. Yeah, his
name's his name's Richard Patrick. His brother was the T
one thousand in Terminator two Wow.
Speaker 3 (01:31):
Okay, so it is not it is not Richard Patrick,
and it is not the nine inch Nails. It is.
Speaker 5 (01:39):
Oh so it's not Filter.
Speaker 2 (01:41):
No, it's not Filter either. Oh that hurts. Foush foosh
hit you with us? That does hurt?
Speaker 3 (01:48):
Well, you know what if anybody o there, tell me
what your story about Filter then and Richard Patrick and
nine inch Nails.
Speaker 5 (01:58):
Well, no, well, not anything about nine inch Nails. The
music video called a Picture is like they're on a boat.
The whole scene is partially underwater, partially where he's on
top of a house sing in the band's playing underwater
as a girl in the boat. I figured that was it.
Speaker 3 (02:18):
That's a really good guess, and I will say, right
era maybe a little older, and it is, I guess
technically the same genre. And for the purpose of what
we're talking about here, take a Picture. This is a
cool song. And this is a song that I've mentioned
this on the show before, so I apologize to anybody
who I have told this before too. But Filters take
(02:39):
a Picture was a song that was playing when I
worked at the Gap in my gap year after high school.
It was like NonStop. It would play all the time,
and I thought it was kind of a jam. You
know this, this has got it's got like a beat
and you can dance to it. And you're right. He
(03:07):
is in the water floating and there is an airplane
crash and there's a beautiful girl on the boat looking
for him.
Speaker 2 (03:15):
He's underwater. It's a good song.
Speaker 3 (03:19):
So did you ever did you meet him? Did you
work with him?
Speaker 5 (03:23):
No? I worked in Hollywood for a while, but I
never met him. But he wrote that from the perspective
of a kit of a child want his parents to
take where he says, you want to take my picture
because I won't remember. Like he's a two three four
year old talking about the memories that their parents gave
(03:43):
them through pictures that they enjoyed when they got older.
Speaker 2 (03:47):
What a cool story. I had always heard that.
Speaker 3 (03:49):
It was that he had some kind of freak out
on an airplane and he literally woke up and took
his clothes off because he was having some kind of meltdown,
and then he and then he got sober after that
but either way, I like the story and I thank
you so much Drew for Colin. We don't have any
answers though to the to the song, and I think
that I don't think anybody's gonna call, but I'll just
tell you since you're here. The song was by a band.
(04:15):
M hold on, let me pull it up. This is
a good radio, right. We listen to somebody typing in
the background.
Speaker 2 (04:23):
Stand bye.
Speaker 3 (04:24):
We got to listen to a there's a there's a
commercial for uh, what is this taco bell? Okay, we're
not gonna go. Oh it's McDonald's for the McDonald's rap.
Speaker 4 (04:32):
Oh.
Speaker 3 (04:32):
Now, there's an American Airlines commercial. That's pretty cool. You
may be booking a flight sometime. You might go on
American Airlines. So thanks for the song.
Speaker 4 (04:42):
This is the.
Speaker 6 (04:43):
Song, that's right.
Speaker 3 (05:22):
Scott Staff in Creed, I was at the Creed My
Sacrifice music video.
Speaker 2 (05:28):
Nice Nice is indeed.
Speaker 3 (05:32):
And it was crazy because I saw it come out
on t r L, you know a few months later,
and I was like, I was there.
Speaker 2 (05:48):
Okay, so Christmas music or Creed?
Speaker 4 (05:51):
What do you think? Foods?
Speaker 2 (05:53):
What are we ready for?
Speaker 3 (05:54):
December nineteenth? Right right in the cusp here, we go.
I gotta hit the chorus. It's kind of a cool song.
I think with time, you know, people were really people
ragged on Creed. That band was huge. Three and fifty
(06:17):
two million views on that that song My sacrifice on
YouTube and I got to be there. That's the most
viewed video that I've been a part of.
Speaker 4 (06:30):
Shoot.
Speaker 2 (06:31):
Oh bummer.
Speaker 3 (06:33):
Oh we got a lot more callers though here everybody
knows the song now, dang it.
Speaker 2 (06:38):
Now we got it.
Speaker 3 (06:39):
Well, now you know the song because I've played it.
I think well, I think, oh yeah, line too. I
think knew before, they knew before. Okay, so let's see.
Let's hear can we hear? Karen from Montabello? Hello, Hi Karen?
You're on KFI.
Speaker 7 (06:59):
Oh my gosh, you know what?
Speaker 5 (07:00):
I have the wrong song because it's too old.
Speaker 4 (07:04):
What do you think it was?
Speaker 7 (07:06):
White Snake?
Speaker 2 (07:07):
Oh that's pretty good.
Speaker 4 (07:08):
No, I wasn't.
Speaker 2 (07:09):
I wasn't around when they were doing the White Snake
music video.
Speaker 7 (07:13):
With Tanya Kichin on the cars.
Speaker 2 (07:15):
Oh yeah, oh yeah, was that was it? Here I
go again?
Speaker 5 (07:19):
Here I go?
Speaker 8 (07:19):
Yeah, Here I go.
Speaker 2 (07:21):
Yeah, that is a killer song.
Speaker 8 (07:25):
Oh I just thought that was the one.
Speaker 7 (07:28):
Yeah, but my daughter just said, oh, no, I think
that was and here I go again as an eighties song.
Speaker 3 (07:35):
Yeah, yeah, I was. I was born a year after that.
But but I love that song. Uh, and the music
video is very cool. I think they shot that in La.
I think that's a downtown La. Yeah. But Karen, thank
you for calling on this on this Friday night. I
hope you have a wonderful evening, a happy Holidays, and
a merry Christmas.
Speaker 7 (07:52):
To you you too, Thank you very much.
Speaker 3 (07:56):
All right, let's check in with Marshall Collin from Mercida.
What's up by day?
Speaker 4 (08:01):
Why?
Speaker 2 (08:02):
How you doing?
Speaker 4 (08:02):
Fred? Hi?
Speaker 9 (08:04):
This isn't Fred?
Speaker 6 (08:05):
Is this Andy?
Speaker 10 (08:06):
No?
Speaker 2 (08:06):
I said, how are you doing? Friend? This is Andy?
Yeah I was. I've talked to you before, so you
act like we're not old friends.
Speaker 9 (08:12):
Now I'm sorry, okay, but this is Marshall. Yes, Hi,
how are you?
Speaker 4 (08:17):
Yes?
Speaker 2 (08:17):
Marshall? What can I do for you this Friday?
Speaker 9 (08:20):
I wanted to answer the music the music question?
Speaker 2 (08:24):
Okay, sure, why not we do?
Speaker 4 (08:26):
What?
Speaker 2 (08:27):
What do you think the song is?
Speaker 5 (08:29):
That was creed my sacrifice?
Speaker 4 (08:32):
Amazing?
Speaker 2 (08:33):
You got it, buddy, you got it absolutely.
Speaker 9 (08:36):
I want to I was so happy to call it
because you're my favorite weather Fortocaster.
Speaker 2 (08:40):
Oh, yes, thank you. I do I do my best.
Speaker 3 (08:43):
I do my best to fake my way through it.
And that's and that's that's all I'm going to say
about that, Marshall.
Speaker 2 (08:52):
I'm looking forward, Okay, go ahead.
Speaker 3 (08:54):
I was just gonna ask you what you were doing
on this Friday night that led you to listen into CAFI.
Speaker 9 (09:00):
Oh right now. I was actually watching two different programs.
David Letterman is on a reruner Johnny Carson. I love
David Letterman, and I'm also watching at the same time
Yoga's First Christmas on the CW.
Speaker 2 (09:11):
Hey, look at that.
Speaker 3 (09:12):
Are you going in between like when there's a commercial,
Rick you hop back between one and the other? Or
do you have both of them on at the same
time with the volume blow?
Speaker 9 (09:18):
No, I keep going back and forth because I could
do that, but I get my I go crazy doing that,
So I want to enjoy one by yourself, and then
I'm listening to you at the same time.
Speaker 3 (09:28):
You are multitasking for sure. Well, Marshall, thank you so
much for calling. As always, I'm out of time on
this on this block, but we're going to keep the
music vibes going for the next forty five minutes.
Speaker 2 (09:38):
Music man Jack Primavera is going to join me. A
couple of things.
Speaker 3 (09:41):
We're talking about new music for people who don't like
new music, love this. This is one of my favorite
things ever. It makes me still feel relevant. Heck yeah.
And also we're going to solo the solo. Can you
guess what solo this guitar or what song this guitar
solo is from? This sounds a lot easier than it
(10:02):
actually is, and I'm curious to see how this goes.
Speaker 2 (10:05):
Ronner, are you on board?
Speaker 4 (10:07):
Sure?
Speaker 2 (10:08):
How about the news?
Speaker 4 (10:09):
Is that convincing? Did that sound convincing?
Speaker 3 (10:11):
Well, you don't have a choice. You gotta be here
for I'm leaving at ten, So okay, it's up to you.
Speaker 4 (10:15):
I know I'm one hundred percent on board.
Speaker 1 (10:18):
You're listening to KFI AM six forty on demand.
Speaker 2 (10:25):
I've just a quick update out of Miami. Jake Paul.
Speaker 3 (10:30):
Has been knocked out on this Friday night fight. As expected,
Anthony Joshua knocked out Jake Paul. What was not expected
is that it took Paul until round six to finish
off the influencer turned boxer. That implies that he's like
done influencing. I don't maybe he is. I haven't seen
him do a slime video in quite some time. The
(10:51):
fight was ugly from the jump, CBS Sports says, with
Paul getting in on the proverbial bicycle and moving latterly
along the ropes, forcing Joshua to chase him around the ring.
The strategy was effective, though, is Paul did not take
clean shots round after round, and it allowed him to
have an argument to win one or two of the
four opening rounds. In round five, josh was finally able
(11:15):
to land a few clean shots that was enough to
hurt the smaller Paul. A left from Joshua buckled Paul's
legs and allowed josh to pounce and score his first
knockdown to the fight. A second knockdown followed as Joshua
landed a right hand counter. Paul escaped that round, but
he looked exhausted from the movement. Round six lasted not
(11:38):
very long. Josh landed a bomb of a right hand
to drop Paul.
Speaker 4 (11:41):
Paul was.
Speaker 3 (11:43):
Unable to beat the referees count and the fight ended
at the one thirty one mark. A round six and
I'm going to continue calling Anthony Joshua Josh Oh Boy
joining me right now, one of my oldest friends and
also somebody who I think is.
Speaker 2 (12:02):
Somebody I look up to in the industry.
Speaker 3 (12:04):
As they say, music man, Jack Primavera, you've been with
us before, you're with us again. Thank you so much
for being with us this evening, on this Friday. Happy
Friday to you. Happy Friday, Andy. I'm so happy to
be back. I'm always honored to be a guest here.
It's a lot of fun. I love chatting with you.
Speaker 2 (12:18):
Well, this voice a show which you work on.
Speaker 10 (12:21):
Yes, yes, finally week we crowned a new winner of
season twenty eight.
Speaker 2 (12:26):
This week, season twenty eight.
Speaker 3 (12:27):
I feel like when you first started coming doing the show,
you were only at season twenty two, and now here
we are three months later at season twenty eight.
Speaker 10 (12:35):
Yeah, we do like roughly six a month. But no,
it's definitely exciting. We have a new winner from Team
Nile Aiden Ross. Check him out, very very beautiful voice.
Speaker 3 (12:46):
Was it a good season? Are you Are you feeling
a little tired? Are you feeling good to have a
couple of weeks off?
Speaker 8 (12:50):
Yeah, man, I'm excited to have a couple of weeks off.
It was a good season.
Speaker 10 (12:54):
You know, for the first time ever, we had one
week of lives and packed into it as anyone could
have won in my opinion, like it was a stacked
like lineup of amazing singers, but Aiden took it home.
Speaker 3 (13:08):
America voted, well, you are a music expert, as evidenced
by your credentials working in music television. But also because
I don't know that I know anybody, and I know
a lot of people in the music world, but who
is as devoted to the craft of understanding music as
you are? So I wanted to bring you on to
do this new segment called New Music Friday for people
(13:30):
who don't like new music, because I feel like so
much of the music that comes out is all geared
towards kids, oh for sure.
Speaker 10 (13:37):
For sure, and a lot of people over a certain age.
You kind of have your favorites. You know what your
love song is, you know what your hype up song is.
Get you get stuck in your ways? Yeah, will yeah,
But here we are.
Speaker 3 (13:47):
We got some new music coming out, This first one
from Tyler Childers called Cut and Teeth. Give me a
little backstory here and then we'll play.
Speaker 10 (13:54):
So we got Tyler Childers it's from his new album,
Snipe Hunter. And so you know Tyler Childer big, big
Kentucky In huge in the you know, Midwest and the
country scene, but kind of did it his way. His
first couple of albums were produced by Sergel Simpson and
he has just this beautiful voice. But this new album,
Snipe Hunter, was actually produced by Rick Rubin, and it's
(14:16):
kind of like big, kind of I don't want to
say his breakout, because he's had some breakouts, but it's
very much a mainstream one and the sound is just
very different, very polished, that Rick Rubin, you know Rick
Rubin sound.
Speaker 8 (14:29):
Yeah, it's a lot of fun.
Speaker 3 (14:30):
Let's listen to Tyler Childer's cutting teeth. It's got this
real roomy vibe to it, Like you listen to him
singing and you listen to those instruments, like you could
really hear the room.
Speaker 8 (14:39):
Oh for sure. He's got a great band, the Food Stamps.
Speaker 10 (14:41):
They actually saw them at the Hollywood Bowl this last year.
Amazing live act and I think Rick Rubin and Tyler
like really kind of captured the live sound, but like
in a studio setting, yeah, totally. And you know, this
is actually pretty tame track. Some of the like the
sonic experiments on this album, you know, go you know,
pedal steel like.
Speaker 8 (15:00):
Pedals and effects to it.
Speaker 2 (15:01):
Awesome.
Speaker 10 (15:02):
But yeah, this is just if you like country or
that outlaw Merle Haggard like that kind of stuff. Like
I would highly recommend checking out Tyler Childers this album
or any of his albums.
Speaker 3 (15:11):
The album is called Snipe Hunter. It's Cutting Teeth by
Tyler Childers. It's hard for me to say Tyler Childers.
Tyler Tilders is what I keep wanting to say, which
means I probably have some wires crossed in my brain
the wrong way. This next band definitely does not have
any wires crossed in a bad way. It's Stanley Simmons,
which are the name is a combination of these two guys,
(15:33):
rock star dads, Geene Simmons and Paul Stanley.
Speaker 8 (15:37):
I've heard of them.
Speaker 3 (15:38):
You've heard them. They're in a band called Kiss. But
this new record from Evan Stanley and Nick Simmons is
completely different than Kiss, and I think harkens back to
the sort of Laurel Canyon, Crosby Sales, Nash and Young,
maybe even some Simon and Garfunks.
Speaker 8 (15:57):
Eagles as harmonies.
Speaker 3 (15:58):
Yeah, this song is called Bodied. I I'll say this
in full disclosure. I got to hear this song before
it came out because I interviewed just randomly the producer
of it, Rob Cavallo.
Speaker 2 (16:08):
I had him on the show.
Speaker 3 (16:09):
A big fan of his always, and sometimes when you
ask nicely and you have KFI behind you, you can
get somebody to.
Speaker 2 (16:15):
Come and talk to you.
Speaker 8 (16:16):
That's incredible.
Speaker 2 (16:17):
And they put this song out.
Speaker 3 (16:18):
They're doing a whole record, and I think that what's
exciting is that they're going away from what their dads
are doing to kind of carve their own niche.
Speaker 10 (16:25):
First thing I thought, this is not kiss you know,
this is very much its own you said, CSNY. Definitely
get those vibes from it, the Laurel Canyon sound. And
then when you share this song with me, one thing
I loved and would go into our next segment very well,
is there's an.
Speaker 8 (16:40):
Awesome guitar solo. That's right, it's got that bear that vibe.
Speaker 2 (16:44):
Well, I'll tell you what.
Speaker 3 (16:45):
Those are two very cool new songs for people who
do not like new songs. On this New Music Friday,
we are going to take a quick break. When we
come back, maybe we'll do one more song and then
we'll move to our game, and then we're gonna have
people call it. We gotta have them call in and
guess the solos. I think we'll do it is we'll
play a couple solos and then you can call in.
You can try to tell us what those solos were.
Speaker 1 (17:05):
You're listening to KFI AM six forty on demand.
Speaker 3 (17:10):
We're soloing a solo, and you got to call in
and tell us what it is. I think tell us
the name of the band, the name of the song,
and for a bonus point, who played the solo. So
we're gonna do one first that we'll have everybody. For
the listeners, you can call in and let us know
what it is, and then we'll while we get all
(17:31):
the calls coming in, we'll play a couple more and
the boys in studio here will have to guess. But
here's our first one for the listeners. We're soloing the solo.
(18:01):
That's all you get twenty seconds. Do you think it's
too easy, Jack, I mean you knew it, okay, don't
say one hundred five to zero one five three four.
That's one hundred five to zero one five three four.
I don't know if I would have known that immediately,
and I'm a guitar person, so I feel like I
don't know. Let's do another one here for all the
(18:21):
folks in studio. Mister Ronner, are you ready bring it?
Speaker 2 (18:24):
Foosh? Are you locked and loaded?
Speaker 4 (18:25):
Let's do it.
Speaker 3 (18:26):
Jack Primavera, go, Matt Toffler. I know you're there and
you're not gonna play, but screening, screening calls. I know,
here we go. Don't shout out your your answer, shout
out your name when you get it. Now, this one
(18:57):
is so easy. Jack thinks you know the answer, Roner.
Do you know it's on the tip of my tongue.
I think I know who it is at the very least. Foosh,
I think I know. Jack feels the most confident I know.
Jack knows push ah it guns and Roses? Yeah, yes, sir,
(19:21):
Oh the solo. What's the song?
Speaker 4 (19:25):
That's what I can't remember?
Speaker 2 (19:26):
Very good, Ronner.
Speaker 4 (19:27):
Do you know I'm blanking? I know I know it though.
Speaker 2 (19:31):
Guns and Roses is correct, Jackie Boy, bring it home.
Speaker 8 (19:34):
Sweet Child of Min's slash his finest.
Speaker 3 (19:38):
There it is there, it is. It's like crazy because
I was thinking about this earlier.
Speaker 2 (19:42):
You know it.
Speaker 3 (19:43):
You're like, I know I've heard this a million times,
but where what is it?
Speaker 4 (19:48):
Solo?
Speaker 2 (19:48):
The solo?
Speaker 4 (19:49):
Baby.
Speaker 3 (19:49):
It's also funny because solos sound so silly by themselves.
They just sound like a guy in guitar center, just
like ripping it. Just imagine like a neighbor being like,
turn it down. Don't you have a special connection? And
with Slash, since there's the whole Indiana.
Speaker 8 (20:02):
Thing, is he a hoosier?
Speaker 10 (20:04):
I thought, Oh, that's Axel the Axel axl Rose is
from Indiana.
Speaker 11 (20:08):
Yeah, okay, right, because I did some hard time in Lafayette, Indiana.
Speaker 8 (20:12):
I did some hard time there too.
Speaker 11 (20:13):
I wes Lafayette. Okay, same, Yeah, I went to grad
school at Purdue.
Speaker 3 (20:17):
Nice boiler up. How's your how's your team's going this year?
Speaker 4 (20:22):
Oh? I couldn't possibly care less.
Speaker 3 (20:25):
You all right, here's the next track, and we have
oh my god, we have so many callers. We have
so many callers. I'd made it too easy. We should
go to the calls because, uh, we have Jay on
the line. Jay, what's up?
Speaker 2 (20:41):
Brother?
Speaker 8 (20:45):
I did there too?
Speaker 4 (20:47):
Oh j J?
Speaker 2 (20:48):
Can you turn your radio down please?
Speaker 4 (20:49):
Another boiler there?
Speaker 8 (20:51):
Yeah, it's down alrighty, what.
Speaker 2 (20:54):
Is the solo that you listen to the first song there?
Speaker 3 (20:59):
The first one was Crazy Trained, Yes, sir.
Speaker 5 (21:03):
Of course Ozzy Osbourne. I think the guitarist is Zach Wilde.
Speaker 3 (21:09):
It is not you did you got partial credit though? Jay,
Thank you so much for calling, and uh, I appreciate
you calling about the Creed song too. And I'm sorry
weren't able to get you on there, but you you.
I would say ninety percent all the way there. That's
a pretty good answer.
Speaker 5 (21:23):
Thanky, Thank you, buddy.
Speaker 2 (21:25):
Let's see calling now. It's Mark from Northridge.
Speaker 4 (21:29):
To the first.
Speaker 2 (21:31):
Hello. Mark, you're on kf I.
Speaker 5 (21:33):
Guy.
Speaker 3 (21:34):
The first song was Crazy Tray, Yes, sir, bye, Ozzy
Osbourne from nineteen eighty one.
Speaker 2 (21:40):
Do you know who played the solo on that song?
Speaker 5 (21:44):
I member it was band, that's all I can say.
Speaker 2 (21:46):
All right, that's good. No, No, that's good. You're absolutely right.
Speaker 3 (21:49):
We're just gonna keep going until we get anybody who
has the name of the uh the guitarist.
Speaker 10 (21:54):
Legendary guitarist. Yeah, there you go, gone too soon.
Speaker 3 (21:57):
As a clue, We've got Doug Colin from Hollister, California.
Speaker 2 (22:00):
Doug, you're on kf I.
Speaker 3 (22:04):
What is the name of the song, the artist and
the guitarists who played the solo?
Speaker 5 (22:14):
Well, it was Ozzy Osbourne, Crazy Train, Randy Rhoads.
Speaker 2 (22:19):
Hey got it?
Speaker 3 (22:21):
You go, you go, Doug, thanks so much for calling.
Doug all right, the one and only. How's things going
down in Hollister?
Speaker 4 (22:31):
Oh it's all right, pretty pretty nice evening.
Speaker 3 (22:34):
I love to hear it. Well, thanks for calling. All right,
let's get to another caller here. We've got Mitch, Mitch
from Agore Hills.
Speaker 4 (22:42):
Mitch.
Speaker 3 (22:43):
Now, we've had everybody identify those solos or the the
the items from that solo where we had guitarist Randy Rhodes.
Ozzy Osbourne is the is the artist, and we've got
the song Crazy Train. Now I've got a new solo
for everybody here and Mark you can play along before
(23:03):
we go to break in and Mark, I'm sorry. Mitch
from mcgore Hills you can also play along.
Speaker 2 (23:10):
Are you with us?
Speaker 4 (23:11):
Mitch? Yep?
Speaker 2 (23:13):
All right, here we go. Did you get it?
Speaker 11 (23:30):
I'm stumped, but I like your head movements that nobody
on the radio can see. Are you doing the overbite too?
Speaker 3 (23:34):
Oh yeah, dude, I'm like a white guy dancing a Yeah,
this is I didn't realize that this game would just
be like the sounds of a guitar center on Saturday afternoon.
Speaker 2 (23:51):
This is just crazy, Mitch. Do you have any guesses
for that one?
Speaker 8 (23:54):
A couple of stairways they haven't thrown in?
Speaker 7 (23:56):
Huh, I don't.
Speaker 3 (23:58):
That's a tough one. Alrighty, Mitch, thanks for calling. We're
going to take a break. When we come back, we'll
wrap this game up. We've got lots of other people
who can guess maybe what this solo is.
Speaker 2 (24:09):
This is a tough one. One more time.
Speaker 4 (24:12):
As we got a.
Speaker 2 (24:12):
Break, Mark Runner turned that dang thing down.
Speaker 1 (24:27):
You're listening to KFI Am sixty on demand.
Speaker 3 (24:33):
Yeah, I just got a notification here that Sky five,
the helicopter that is associated with the day job that
I have at KTLA, has launched for an on again,
off again pursuit of a possible stolen ambulance. But unfortunately,
because of fog, we've had to turn around, so it
might be out there. Someone may have stolen an ambulance
(24:54):
somewhere in the Southland. Listen for sirens. That's right, those
stolen ambulances. You don't get a lot of those pursuits. Here,
we're playing a game called solo ing the solo, and
that is where, of course, you listen to a solo
track and we have people call in to try to
guess what the song is, who the artist is, and
(25:15):
for bonus points, who the guitarist who played the solo was.
This is the one that we talked about before we
went to break. Let's see if we have anybody the
lines of lit up. I've never in all of my
three months of working here, never seen the lines lit
up like this.
Speaker 2 (25:47):
Has some good picking.
Speaker 3 (25:49):
We've got Danny on the line calling Danny, where are
you calling from on this Friday night?
Speaker 5 (25:55):
From Verne?
Speaker 3 (25:56):
Hey, we love Laverne. What do you think that that's
song was that you just heard?
Speaker 7 (26:03):
Uh?
Speaker 5 (26:04):
Yeah, I got two guesses, but I'm gonna go my gut.
I think it's uh Eric Clapton Crossroads.
Speaker 3 (26:10):
Ooh, that's close. That's a good clothes, A good guess.
I'll tell you the year. It was nineteen seventy two,
so you're right in there. However, that is not right.
Do you have another guess? Because there's no rules.
Speaker 5 (26:20):
Here, Well, it wouldn't be Stevie worry Vaughn.
Speaker 3 (26:23):
No, it was not, but I'll tell you what. I
appreciate you calling Danny. We'll play the game again. Call
us next time and uh and we'll talk to you soon.
We've got Janelle on the line, who would like to
guess and participate. Here you're listening to Kfi. Janelle, do
you know the solo?
Speaker 7 (26:40):
Hello, dear Andy. I thought I was calling this for
the Auzie thing because nobody got the guitarist yet, right.
Speaker 3 (26:45):
Oh, no, we got it somebody I think, uh Mitch
maybe got it from maybe Doug from Hollister. I'm not sure,
but yeah, somebody got Randy Rhodes.
Speaker 7 (26:55):
Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, that was That would have been
my guest.
Speaker 2 (26:58):
You were right, Janete.
Speaker 7 (27:00):
Oh you know what the Ausy clip honestly was on
a one to ten scale, it was. It was probably
a one, like easy, and then this one is probably
like a seven or eight.
Speaker 3 (27:13):
This is super hard hard. Yeah, I know this one.
This one's really hard. It might be too hard. So uh,
I'll tell you what we were gonna We're gonna take
one more call and uh, if nobody gets the next one,
Janelle will go back to you. Mark from San Juan Capistrano,
do you have the answer to this solo.
Speaker 5 (27:32):
That's a tough one, but I'm just gonna guess.
Speaker 3 (27:34):
Leonard Skinnard, great guest, was you know, we were thinking
of one of those, but but unfortunately, no, that is
not correct.
Speaker 2 (27:41):
Any other guesses.
Speaker 3 (27:44):
This one's got me stumped.
Speaker 2 (27:46):
Me too. It's hard.
Speaker 3 (27:47):
Okay, I've got a good clue. Stay on the line
here for the next one. But yeah, drop a clue
and so the clue.
Speaker 10 (27:52):
As you were talking about how this game feels a
lot like something you hear at Guitar Center, uh huh,
Well this, I'll just say this band in question, I'll
hear a lot of a specific riff from this band,
a guitar sound that is.
Speaker 3 (28:03):
Almost impossibly unhelpful. But but I appreciate that. The try
Roland from Glendora, do you have a guest for what
solo we were just listening to?
Speaker 5 (28:13):
Oh my god, uh is it Space Truck in by
Deep Purple.
Speaker 1 (28:17):
It is rolling.
Speaker 2 (28:21):
I cannot believe it. I cannot believe.
Speaker 5 (28:26):
My dad loves that song.
Speaker 3 (28:28):
That's awesome. That's such a great moment.
Speaker 2 (28:33):
Well, thank you. I'm so glad we got to you.
Speaker 4 (28:34):
Roland.
Speaker 3 (28:35):
You are the You are the winner for sure on
that one. All right, we've got another solo here. Oh yeah,
one more time here with deep Purple Space truck in.
Speaker 8 (28:42):
Do we know the guitar player. The guitarist is.
Speaker 5 (28:49):
Quote, I'll just take a shot in the dark. Uh okay,
I know it's not it's not a.
Speaker 7 (28:59):
It's the guy.
Speaker 5 (29:00):
It's it's almost Ricky, Ricky Blackmore.
Speaker 3 (29:04):
You got it, Richie Blackmore, Richie Blackmore, man, were killing it.
Speaker 4 (29:08):
There's no there.
Speaker 3 (29:09):
I wish we could give away prizes because this is incredible.
That was amazing, rolland oh my god, you're killing it man,
Thank you so much, Glendora. Whatever is in the water
down there, we.
Speaker 8 (29:18):
Need to get Fender on board. Give a guitar away.
Speaker 2 (29:20):
That's right, that's right.
Speaker 3 (29:21):
Here we go one more time with deep Purple Space trucking.
Heck yeah, very good. All right, last one here, truly,
last one before we get out of here. Uh this uh,
this is I think this is a pretty easy one.
Speaker 2 (29:41):
Personally.
Speaker 3 (29:42):
We have some callers still and we'll just go one
by one. That is such a nasty sound, so distinctive.
Speaker 2 (30:05):
I'm gonna give I'll give a clue here.
Speaker 3 (30:07):
It's Steve Lucather and Eddie Van Halen, here, So let's
check in with Danny. Do you know what you were
just listening to? Can you spot the solo?
Speaker 5 (30:17):
Yeah, Steve Lucas from Toto obviously, and uh Michael Jackson's
beat it?
Speaker 2 (30:25):
Yes, sir, that is correct.
Speaker 4 (30:28):
What a game?
Speaker 2 (30:29):
What a night?
Speaker 8 (30:29):
And Hale?
Speaker 2 (30:31):
Yeah, was that eddievan Halen who's doing the solo on that?
Speaker 10 (30:33):
Steve did like the rhythm of it, and then the
solo was Eddie got it.
Speaker 2 (30:41):
Guitars in the song are just incredible. I could do that.
Speaker 4 (30:45):
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (30:46):
It's a great song.
Speaker 3 (30:47):
