Speaker 1 (00:06):
This week, we're going out and about to an iconic
Halloween haunt in LA. It's the La Haunted hay Ride
at Griffith Park and I've never been to this one.
I've wanted to go for years, but we got to
catch up with Jen Bendick with the Haunted hay Ride.
So Jen tell us about the frightening fun we'll find
at the Haunted hay Ride this year.

Speaker 2 (00:28):
I can't believe, first of all, that you've never been here.
I know, how in the world have you missed this
iconic event that's been going on for seventeen years in
Los Angeles nowth Park.

Speaker 1 (00:36):
It's ridiculous And I like drive by on I five
and I go, I gotta go to the Haunted hay Ride. Yeah,
which is one of the reasons we do are out
and about the Boop preview, because there's all these things
going on and we've kind of sort of sometimes forget
about them. Yeah, we want to bring them into the spotlights.
So it's packed. So we got the spotlight tonight.

Speaker 2 (00:52):
Absolutely we here in the town of Midnight Falls.

Speaker 1 (00:55):
We are.

Speaker 2 (00:57):
We have our iconic hay Ride okay, and her three
Mazes Okay, So we have Elvira's takeover of Trick or Treat.

Speaker 1 (01:05):
And that's a new one the ship.

Speaker 2 (01:07):
Yes, that's the new that's the new maze this year. So,
I don't know if you noticed there was a house
for sale in Midnight Falls. Yes, these are some of
our town characters here do they live in midnight They
all live in Midnight Falls, and they wander around the grounds.
They wander around the grounds, they take care of things.

Speaker 1 (01:25):
They Yeah, that doesn't freak me out at all about.

Speaker 2 (01:30):
Okay, So there was a house for sailing mid Night
Falls earlier this year, and it was purchased by none
other than Elvira herself. Okay, so she has moved in.
She's taken over Trick or Treat. It's Elvira's trick Treat mayhem. Okay.
It is so fantastic and so fun there are Elvira
is all over the maze, sot and then the scaring
around this year has uh, don't takeover, it's been it's.

Speaker 1 (01:52):
A takeover dunk her little dog.

Speaker 2 (01:54):
Oh okay, Yeah, so all of the horses are dressed
up to look like her little dog and it's very adorable.
Then you moved to the end of the block and
there's hell Billy and that is the Jasper family. They
are absolutely terrifying, okay. And every night they are on
the hunt for a victim that come out into town
square with their chainsaws. Okay, go searching the grounds for

(02:16):
the new victim. They grab them and drag them back
to the maze where they are slaughtered. Oh great, that
sounds like so love wonderful fun for the whole family.

Speaker 1 (02:25):
Okay, all right. And then the hay Ride itself, so
you get on the wagon and off you go.

Speaker 2 (02:30):
Hay Ride itself is absolutely fantastic. This year, we had
brought back some of our iconic scenes from years past. Okay,
if you remember the old hay Ride, which you don't
because this is your first time here because I'm just
scared to do these. For those who have been here
in the past, you will recognize some of the iconic.

Speaker 1 (02:44):
Scenes, okay. And then something else that's new this year
is I know we were talking about the food, and
you've kind of expanded the food offerings, so there's lots
of things like a bunch of tasty treats this year.

Speaker 2 (02:55):
Absolutely, the food is fantastic. This year we have themed
food booths throughout the entire part. So it really feels
like we are a Halloween festival.

Speaker 1 (03:03):
And we are.

Speaker 2 (03:03):
We are the Los Angeles Haunted hay Ride and Halloween Festival,
and it really does feel like that. You know, you're
you're on the grounds with the trees and the it's
so beautiful hey in the fall, and it's just it's
a really really nice way to celebrate the season.

Speaker 1 (03:16):
Beautiful and spooky. So tell us when it is open
and where we get tickets.

Speaker 2 (03:20):
Absolutely, so you can get your tickets at Los Angeles
Haunted Hayride dot com easy and we are open until
November second, select nights, so we're gonna start to go
into those long weekends.

Speaker 1 (03:28):
Okay, and get tickets early because you do sell out sometimes.

Speaker 2 (03:30):
We absolutely do sell out timeslots will sell out. The
event is open at seven pm every night that we
are open, so no matter what time slot you have,
you could still get here at seven, and I recommend
it because that is when our opening Scaramonies takes place.
You don't want to miss that, all right. So again,
if you have a ten pm ticket, still get here
at seven o'clock right when the door's open at six
forty five because you can.

Speaker 1 (03:50):
Go and you can get yourself scared and then you
can get scared again.

Speaker 2 (03:53):
You can if I get some food, you can get
some treats. You can go to our immersive cider mill. Okay,
it's really it's adorable in the cider, hot apple cider
and a donut. It's delicious, sounds delicious, and Jen, I
think that we should.

Speaker 1 (04:06):
Kind of go in. All right, let's do it, all right?
Are you going into the Pumpkin Tunnel? Are you brave
enough for now? I'm gonna I'm gonna do it. I'm
going to do it all right, Jen Bendick, thank you
so much for the La Haunted Hay Ride. That's where
we're out and about for our Boo preview this week.
Come on, let's go. It was a lot of fun.

(04:26):
It was a lot of fun, and you can check
it out. I'm going to post it on my Instagram
at Amy k King. It'll also be posted at KF.
I am six forty And of course I would invite
you to follow me. I would love that. But we
give you a little sneak peek at what it looks like.
And it was very cool though, and I love that
there's the Haunted Hay ride, which is the iconic thing.

(04:48):
And then also three scare houses, and Jen told me that,
like the al Viral, one is not super scary. There's
some stuff, there's some jump scares and stuff like that,
but it's not super scary. I'm getting so brave. I
didn't two at Dark Harbor too. That one actually looked
really scary. Okay, so there's one more that I'm looking
at you guys, and I want to tell you about

(05:09):
it because I don't know that I could do it.
There are some people from seventeenth Floor. I don't know
if you've heard of this one. I believe it's in
downtown LA. And they were listening and they said, hey,
we heard so you went to Dark Harbor. Do you
want to come to seventeenth Floor? And I'm like, oh
my gosh, that sounds great. I'm so tough now and
I can do these haunted houses.

Speaker 2 (05:28):
Well.

Speaker 1 (05:29):
Then I reached out to Nick Poliochini, who is mister Halloween.
Oh yeah, and he said, oh, no, that's not for you, Amy.

Speaker 2 (05:38):
Oh.

Speaker 1 (05:39):
And then I was just talking to producer and and
she was telling me some of the stuff that they do,
and I know people love to be scared and good
on you. I don't think I can do this. I
need to talk to them a little bit more. But
it sounds terrifying, like really terrifying. So anyway, seventeenth floor,

(05:59):
go check it out if you like to be scared,
that one might be the one for you. And like
I said, I'm going to see if we can set
up an interview with them. I don't know that I
can go through their base, so okay, anyway at Amy
K King on Instagram and also we're going to post
it at KFI AM six forty. That was our boo preview.
A lot of fun. Go check out the La Haunted
