Speaker 1 (00:00):
Guess what time it is.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
We are taking our Southern California sleigh ride a little
bit out of town. So you're kind of feeling like
seventy seventy five degrees. That doesn't make you feel very christmasy.
You can take a ride out to Calabasas. We're at
the King Gillette Branch for Holiday Road with us today.
We have the event producer, Tyler Mittendorf. Thank you so

(00:26):
much for having us out this year.

Speaker 1 (00:28):
Thanks for coming out. We're happy to have you.

Speaker 2 (00:30):
I'm telling you that when you get in here, you
really do start to feel like Christmasy.

Speaker 1 (00:36):
You are surrounded by Christmas.

Speaker 3 (00:38):
The moment come through the front door, and there's something
to see left, right, top, bottom, It's everywhere.

Speaker 2 (00:42):
Okay, And the main draw of this is the Christmas Trail,
the Holiday Trail.

Speaker 1 (00:48):
Correct, Yeah, right where we are is the Holiday Trail.

Speaker 3 (00:50):
And this is a mile long, looping trail, thirty plus
immersive scenes. Everything is represented of the season. There's millions
of lights. It really does have something forever.

Speaker 1 (01:00):
Every I love it.

Speaker 2 (01:01):
And right now we're in the village, which is so adorable. Look,
there's a little tavern and a blacksmith, a toy shop
of course, of course absolutely. And then I mean it's
just like it's just Christmas.

Speaker 1 (01:16):
I know, I'm with.

Speaker 2 (01:17):
You, and I love I love like the trees that
behind us. That's quite a feat because those trees are
probably what fifty feet.

Speaker 1 (01:24):
Tall at least.

Speaker 3 (01:25):
Yeah, this property just is such gorgeous and its topography
and the natural nature that we're surrounded with already, and
then we kind of come in and bring a new
light and life to it. And these trees top to
bottom are covered in lights. Again, as you can see
behind us, there's also bigger trees along the trail that
really just take your breath away once you see them.

Speaker 2 (01:44):
Cool and there's some cool arches and it's all just lights,
and there's snow. And the other thing about coming out
all the way out to Calabasas is that it's cold
out here.

Speaker 1 (01:54):
It can drop.

Speaker 3 (01:55):
We are in the Santa Monica Mountains, so you know,
once the sun sets, it can get a little chill
out here. Bring a coat, bring a jacket, and if
you don't, we obviously have holiday road hoodies as well.
Got to sneak that in there, absolutely.

Speaker 2 (02:05):
And you can also get warmed up with a little.

Speaker 3 (02:07):
Hot chocolate Oh yes, we have some amazing hot chocolate beverages,
both for kids as well as adults. So everyone's feeling nice,
warm and toasty when they go out on the truck.

Speaker 2 (02:15):
Okay, and speaking of the adult places, there's.

Speaker 1 (02:17):
The North Pole.

Speaker 3 (02:18):
Yes, the North Pole bar that we have in our
pre show has a full bevy of cocktails and mocktails
for everyone, and they're all themed. You know, some ho
ho ho Coco, Margarita's, you name it. It's out there and it's.

Speaker 2 (02:31):
It's awesome Christmas Margarite is not.

Speaker 1 (02:33):
I there we go, and.

Speaker 2 (02:35):
Then if you're hungry, like, don't have dinner before you
come out, because there's a ton of food trucks.

Speaker 3 (02:40):
Yes, we have a rotating selection of LA's top food trucks,
everything from you know, Philly cheese steaks to burrito bowls,
anything you can think of. It's out there and it
rotates nightly, so if you come on a Thursday, it
might be different than a Saturday. So kind of adds
that repeatability to the event as well.

Speaker 1 (02:56):
So if you want to come.

Speaker 2 (02:56):
More than once, correct, I like the way you're thinking. Okay, So, Tyler,
what do you hope people get out of this experience.

Speaker 3 (03:04):
I think one of the I mean, outside of just
getting that time together and you know, kind of connecting
with family, this is.

Speaker 1 (03:09):
A great event for photos.

Speaker 3 (03:11):
So whether you're updating Yoto, updating your Christmas cards, updating
your Instagram, there's really something for everybody. But capturing those
family memories and kind of looking back on them through
the year is really special.

Speaker 2 (03:24):
I love that.

Speaker 1 (03:24):
And the Big Man's here.

Speaker 3 (03:25):
Too, Santa is here and this year new he's joined
by Missus Claus, so they are both here on Fridays
and Saturdays greeting families and getting those photos and those
memories as well.

Speaker 2 (03:35):
Okay, so tell us when can people come out and
how long are you.

Speaker 1 (03:38):
Going to be open.

Speaker 3 (03:39):
We are open now through December twenty seventh, okay, So
you can check our website Holiday ROADUSA dot com for
our exact event dates. But we're open till December twenty seventh,
and there's plenty of opportunity to come out.

Speaker 1 (03:50):
And join us. Okay.

Speaker 2 (03:51):
And do you need to make reservations before.

Speaker 1 (03:52):
We come out?

Speaker 3 (03:53):
Yes, you do need to buy tickets ahead of time,
so again at Holiday ROADUSA dot com and you can
book your time slot. And we can't wait to have
the these families.

Speaker 1 (04:00):
Another cool thing.

Speaker 2 (04:01):
So when you are when you're on the trail, because
you're booking a time slot, it's staggered, so it's not
just a crush of people.

Speaker 1 (04:07):
Correct.

Speaker 3 (04:07):
Yeah, you book your time slot and you can go
at your own pace. That's what's really great about this experience.
You're not rushed through it. You can really take your
time and appreciate every scene that you're going to see.

Speaker 1 (04:16):
On the trail.

Speaker 2 (04:16):
Tyler Mendar, thank you so much for having us out.
I can't wait to go and walk the rest of
the trail. Come on out to the King Julette Ranch.
Our Southern California sleigh ride took us to Holiday Road
and it was quite lovely. So I love that some
of the places that we've gone to this year, they're
all a little bit different. This one was a little
more homey, Like the enchant was very blitz and.

Speaker 1 (04:41):
Glamour, kind of honorn too.

Speaker 2 (04:43):
Yeah, and this was, you know, taking a stroll in
the King Jelette Ranch and stuff. Is really really cool
and what a fun way to spend the evening. And
you can check it out. I'm posting it on my
Instagram so you can get a little sneak peek at it.
If you're thinking about heading out there at amy K King,
we'll put it up on the KFI website too at
KFI A M six forty And of course I would
love for you to follow me again. It's at amy

(05:05):
K King and hope you take a little southern California
sleigh ride
