Speaker 1 (00:22):
It's later with Mo Kelly.

Speaker 2 (00:24):
Can't I am says forty live everywhere on the iHeartRadio app.
You probably heard Tim Conway Junior talk about it, but
I'm also going to talk about it. It was insane,
still is insane on the highways and byeways.

Speaker 1 (00:39):
Today.

Speaker 2 (00:40):
You have the World Series going on right now at
Dodger Stadium. It's the top of the seventh Dodgers down
two one, fingers still crossed.

Speaker 1 (00:49):
The Lakers are going to be.

Speaker 2 (00:50):
Tipping off against the Phoenix Suns at Crypto dot Com
Arena in just moments. Here the USC Trojans at the
Coliseum against Rutgers. You have Sofi Stadium, a high school
football game going on. But in addition to that, and
this is all in the Englewood area, you have a
concert at YouTube Theater tonight. You have a concert at

(01:14):
the Key of Forum, and you have a concert at
the End to It Dome, also home of the La Clippers.
There is something going on in just about every major
arena or stadium in southern California, just about with the
exception of maybe Bebo Stadium. Right off the one ten

(01:35):
and I was asked by my wife and other people,
so what are you going to do about the traffic,
And I was reminded it's weird how pop culture can
inform how we approach things. And I was reminded by
the great wisdom of the Ai Joshua. We always talk
about Joshua Ai the Ai Joshua in the movie War Games,
and this was a perfect example of the only way

(01:58):
that you can avoid the traffic is to not get
in the traffic at all.

Speaker 1 (02:04):
There's no way of getting around it.

Speaker 2 (02:06):
There's absolutely no way that if you got into one
ten or a four h five or the one oh one,
that you were going to avoid the traffic. But we
all remember War Games and the computer Joshua had the
best advice.

Speaker 3 (02:19):
Trange game.

Speaker 4 (02:23):
Is not.

Speaker 1 (02:25):
The only winning.

Speaker 2 (02:26):
Move to avoid the traffic was to not have your
ass out there in traffic.

Speaker 1 (02:31):
Now.

Speaker 2 (02:31):
I can't speak for to Walla Sharp, I can't speak
for Mark Ronner. They had to deal with it, and
I'm glad to see and hear that they're physically okay.

Speaker 1 (02:40):
Mark Rounner, how long was your trip.

Speaker 5 (02:41):
In I actually left a half hour early and got
here a half hour early. If you've took the long
way up north, there was no problem at all.

Speaker 1 (02:50):
Okay, all right, and Steph, are you on the board yet?
I'm here? Okay. How was your drive in because your
drive is closest to mine.

Speaker 6 (02:59):
Yeah, so I left about twenty minutes earlier and I
got here ten minutes later. All right, all right, but
you had to get in for also Conway shows, so
you at least had the opportunity to avoid let's say,
the Lakers traffic. I did, but even when I was
on what is it the one thirty four that was

(03:21):
way more congested than it usually is.

Speaker 2 (03:24):
Well, I know that Thursdays and Fridays in general are
always bad, always bad, and when you add to it
these other events. I don't know if people took some
initiative and tried to get on the road earlier or
just tried not to get on the road at all
to avoid it. But if you were driving anywhere, you
probably dealt with it. From what I'm hearing, it wasn't

(03:45):
as bad as it could have been, but definitely it
was bad all things considered. When you think about what's
going on at all these venues. You can't get on
the one ten and avoid dodger traffic. And when I
say avoid dodger traffic, that's coming or going. If you're
getting on the one ten North today, you probably dealt
with Dodger traffic coming up the one ten or even

(04:06):
the one on one South like by Allegian Park. If
you're on the four h five, you'd have to deal
with all of that, or even the one oh five,
you would deal with all that Inglewood traffic. People going
to Sofi Stadium, people going to the YouTube Theater, people
going to the into a dome and the key of Forum.

Speaker 1 (04:24):
It's amazing. And you know what, I'm going to give
credit where credit is due.

Speaker 2 (04:29):
Inglewood Mayor James Buddz has made away for a lot
of money and economic growth to come to the city
of Inglewood.

Speaker 1 (04:36):
I don't know if.

Speaker 2 (04:38):
If the City of Inglewood will be able to handle
all this expansion. We were complaining and I'm like, one
minute outside of Inglewood, we were complaining about the traffic
just when the rams were here, just the rams, and
then we got the La Chargers also playing at so Far,
which means for the next four months or during this
four month period, there is always a game Sofi Stadium,

(05:01):
and then you have dates like tonight we have a
game on a Friday night and we have events at
YouTube Theater and the Key of Form and the End
to It Dome. If you don't know the geography, all
of these venues are within one mile of each other
on either Manchester or Century all of those venues. So

(05:24):
if you think that you're gonna get in and out
in any reasonable amount of time, no way in hell.
So if you stayed home, if you stayed off the roads,
you're like Joshua. The only way that you could win
is to not play the game at all. To that,

(05:45):
I gotta say, Joshua needs to upgrade its voice box
because I know it's been forty years and everything, but
you would think AI would have been much more advanced
at that point. But that's neither here nor there. We
have a huge show for you tonight. Oh and you know,
talking about events and venues, there's nothing bigger I would
say than WrestleMania.

Speaker 1 (06:06):
WrestleMania is coming up.

Speaker 2 (06:08):
When I say it's coming up, the season of WrestleMania
has officially begun. Tickets have now gone on sale for
WrestleMania forty one, which is going to be April nineteenth
and April twentieth at Allegiance Stadium in Las Vegas, and
to that end, the WWE superstar and United States Champion

(06:28):
La Night is going to be joining us kicking off
WrestleMania and everything which is going to be going across
that weekend in April. So if you're a big wrestling
fan like I am, now is the time to go
to ticketmaster dot com get your tickets now before they're
all sold out.

Speaker 1 (06:46):
It is sold out every single year.

Speaker 2 (06:48):
And I can't speak for anyone else, but I have
always been a pro wrestling fan since I was a kid,
and to be able to do this job and speak
with some of the luminaries and some of the stars
professional wrestling, it's an absolute treat.

Speaker 1 (07:03):
We'll be joined on the.

Speaker 2 (07:04):
Show by the superstar himself, La Knight, who is the
United States Wrestling Champion for the WWE. As we talk
about WrestleMania forty one, it's Later with Mo Kelly I
Am six forty one live everywhere on the iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 7 (07:19):
You're listening to Later with Moe Kelly on demand from
KFI AM six forty.

Speaker 2 (07:24):
And the World Series is here. It's still Game one
is still underway. It's the bottom of the seventh. The
doctors have a person on first first base and we'll
see what happens there. But something I do appreciate about
Major League Baseball when they get to their championship series,
obviously it's the World Series. When you're talking about Baseball,

(07:44):
they do not stretch out the series. If you're talking
about the NBA or even the NHL, they don't play
games back to back. There'll be a day or two
days in between each game. Even though there may not
be any travel. Baseball, no, they keep it push it by.
For example, there's Game one tonight and the first pick
was at five o five pm. Game two will be tomorrow,

(08:07):
same time at Dodger Stadium.

Speaker 1 (08:11):
There will be time one day only for travel.

Speaker 2 (08:14):
And if you don't know, they follow the two three
to two format, which means the first two games will
be at Dodger Stadium, the next three, if necessary, would
be at Yankee Stadium, and the final two if necessary,
Game six in Game seven would be at Dodger Stadium.
But the only days off in that seven game series
will be for travel. So you have Game one tonight,

(08:36):
which is a Friday, Game two Saturday. You have a
day off on Sunday to travel. You have Game three Monday,
in New York at Yankee Stadium. Game four Tuesday, and
if needed, Game five would be Wednesday in New York,
and if the series should be longer, they'll have one
day of travel and then Game six would be Friday,

(08:56):
November first, at Dodger Stadium, and if necessary, Game seven
will be Saturday, November two. For sports fans like me,
that's the best way to do it. That is the
absolute best way to do it, because I don't want.

Speaker 1 (09:10):
To have to keep waiting.

Speaker 2 (09:11):
It's almost like you want your players and team to
have momentum, but as a fan, you want to get
into the momentum and flow of the game. You want
this World Series to take place, and you don't want
to spread it out over two and a half or
even three weeks, which is not unusual for NHL and
also the NBA. This is a momentous time in sports,

(09:35):
especially baseball, and if you didn't get to see the
opening ceremony tonight, go back and check it out on YouTube.
They had Oral Herscheiser, who was the MVP for the
World Series of nineteen eighty eight against the Oakland A's,
and they had Steve Yeager, who was a teammate of
Fernando Valezuela on the nineteen eighty one World Series winning Dodgers,

(09:58):
and they both came out to memorialized and paid tribute
to Fernando Valenzuela. It was a real well done and
a very emotional moment. You had all of Fernando Valenzuela's
family there. You could tell his sons look exactly like him.
They had his wife who who was really trying to
keep it together and as best she could, she did.

(10:20):
And what they did is they had Oral Herscheizer come
out and place a ball behind the mound if you're
familiar with baseball, the pitching mound, and there was a
painted thirty four on the backside of the mound, and
they placed a ball there in tribute to Fernando Valezuela.
You could see as as part of the lead up
to the game, where fans were adorning his number at

(10:42):
the Dodger entrance. People were leaving mementos and flowers and
thoughts candles in remembrance of Fernando Valenzuela.

Speaker 1 (10:50):
And I gotta say I got choked up. I could not.

Speaker 2 (10:55):
Help but think about the nineteen eighty one World Series.
The Dodgers finally beat the Yankees in my lifetime. Yes,
they won in nineteen sixty three, but I didn't get
to see that. I wasn't born. I did see them
lose in nineteen seventy seven. In nineteen seventy eight, to
say it with me, the New York Yankees, I saw

(11:15):
and remembered Reggie Jackson hitting three home runs in the
game to close out the Dodgers in nineteen seventy seven.

Speaker 1 (11:24):
It still hurts me to this day.

Speaker 2 (11:26):
There's a lot of obviously nostalgia, there's a lot of history,
and this is something that you probably won't see again
in any sport for quite some time.

Speaker 1 (11:37):
It's really really rare.

Speaker 2 (11:38):
And I know, if you're not a Dodgers fan, let's
say you're an Angels fan, or let's say you're not
a Yankees fan. We have some people at our station
who are Mets fans. Shout out to Michelle Q, producer, Michelle,
and I know this may not be the optimal World
Series that you want to see, but if you are
a baseball fan, it does not get any better than
this because Baseball, unlike the others, is heavily predicated on history,

(12:04):
the records, the hallowed records, are all about history, and
it's all about stats and numbers. If you're a pitcher,
three hundred wins or three thousand strikeouts.

Speaker 1 (12:15):
If you're a.

Speaker 2 (12:15):
Batter, maybe sixty home runs in a year, or I mean,
before the steroid era, the home run record which I
don't know which is the real home run record at
this point, it's not Barry Bonds in my mind because
of all the steroids involved. But baseball has always been
about the business of protecting and also celebrating its history.

(12:37):
And when you have two of the biggest franchises, no
not too of the two biggest franchises in the sport,
the two biggest winners in the sport as far as
number of World Series, and you have the two biggest
players in the game in Shoho Tani and also Aaron Judge,
and you have them playing at their peak in the

(12:58):
World Series for all the world to see. And let's
not forget shoe he Otani is not just a star here.
Sho hey Atani is a star in Japan and around
the world. That makes this World Series very different because
the international interest is something that the World Series has
probably never seen on this level. There are people watching

(13:22):
in different continents watching to see show heyo Tani live
up to the hype and expectation. This was just supposed
to be the first year, and people were saying, there's
no way that this guy can actually be valued at
seven hundred million dollars, which was his contract. And yes,
I know they've deferred a lot of the money, but
it was thought that it was it was. It was ridiculous,

(13:43):
if only because he is now thirty years old and
ten years from now he will probably have considerably less
production and for the for the Dodgers organization, the only
way that this acquisition would have made any sense is
if the Dodgers win a World Series, probably two or three,

(14:04):
and this will be their first step. I don't given
the expectations and the pressure on the Dodgers organization, they've
only won one World Series, given all the success they've
had over the past twelve years of winning the Division,
there's a lot of pressure on the Dodgers to win
this World Series with Sho Hael Tani against the New
York Yankees because in the playoffs, especially the World Series,

(14:28):
that's when legacies are made. Think about Kurt Gibson's home
run back in nineteen eighty eight. They still play that today.

Speaker 1 (14:36):
Think about Reggie Jackson's three home runs in nineteen seventy
seven that made him Mister October. They still play those
highlights today.

Speaker 2 (14:44):
This is another one of those moments where you will
find people who will take their place in history by
doing something big on the largest stage, in the biggest
moment possible for the sport. They're gonna be some legends made,
and possibly some goats, some heroes and some goats. But
I say this to say this is must see TV

(15:05):
if you're a fan on any level, if you're a
fan of LA Sports, if you just happen to love
the city of Los Angeles and its history, it's inextricably
linked to Dodgers' history.

Speaker 1 (15:17):
And this is one of those moments.

Speaker 2 (15:18):
Go in, eyes open, play a pay close attention to
what is happening, and then you'd be able to better
enjoy it. Then, even if you're just a casual fan,
it's something that you want to be able to say, hey,
I was watching that when this happened. I was watching
when that happened, and then you'll be able to tell
your children, I remember when this happened and why it

(15:40):
was such a big deal for not only the city,
but also the country of Japan, the sport of baseball,
and also the Dodgers organization. It is now still two
to one bottom of the seventh in Game one of
the World Series, but the Dodgers are threatening runners at
second and third with two out. We will continue to
monitor the game. Maybe you just watching it right now

(16:01):
on Fox eleven and you can watch it there and
listen to us here when we come back. We have
an update to that coyote bite story. Remember I told
you about this ten year old boy in Irvine who
allegedly was bitten by a coyote. And you know how
I feel about coyotes. Kill them all, kill the coyotes
and bees. Well, it seems like the coyotes have their

(16:23):
own media outlets and they're trying to change the narrative,
and they're trying to say that it wasn't a coyote
which actually bit the child, it was just a garden
variety dog.

Speaker 1 (16:34):
Well are coyotes dogs? We'll talk about it next.

Speaker 7 (16:37):
You're listening to Later with Moe Kelly on demand from
KFI A six forty.

Speaker 2 (16:42):
Earlier in the week, we told you about a coyote
attack now in air quotes in Irvine where a ten
year old boy was bitten by what was thought to
be a coyote. Now, after a DNA test, it seems
that the boy who was bitten was bitten by a dog.

(17:03):
It does not say the breed, but was bitten by
a dog and not a coyote. And it's strange to me.
And I'm not trying to be a conspiracy theorist. I'm
saying it's strange you think of a ten year old boy,
and I would love to get your thoughts on this.

Speaker 1 (17:19):
Tulla.

Speaker 2 (17:20):
You have a ten year old boy who said that
he was bitten by a coyote. Now, I don't know
how savvy the average ten year old boy is to
be able to distinguish between a coyote and any other
dog breed. Coyotes are a breed which if you don't
know what you're looking at, you're not going to say coyote.
I don't know if that came from the boy or

(17:43):
it came from someone else who was treating the boy,
but it seems that it was a dog who bit
the coyote. Now the cynicism in me is saying, like, well,
the coyotes must have some sort of media department in
crisis PR to make sure that the Coyototes don't get
any type of bad news coverage, because for the most part,

(18:03):
when the Coyotes are in the news, bad things happen.
And now they're working overtime to make sure that we
don't think that this biting incident had anything to do
with the coyote My reading this wrong.

Speaker 5 (18:14):
No, but we need to make sure that we keep
the comparison of trying to clean up a name for
yourself but overlooking the wrong that's been going on for
so long. The Coyotes speaking out against this through their
press release and trying to make sure we know as

(18:37):
a dog. It's similar to the MTA saying you're worried.
You know, you're talking bad about the graffiti on the bus,
and it's like, but I've been talking about the murders
and the stabbings and the shootings and the robberies. You're
worried about the graffiti on one bus. I'm talking about
the entire line. This is what the Coyotes are doing
right now. You cannot try to put a pawn off
your victimization of neighborhoods across to Southland, but just trying

(19:01):
to call out one dog, you can't do that.

Speaker 2 (19:04):
To be very serious for a moment, there has been
an ongoing issue with coyotes, irrespective of neighborhood, all through
southern California.

Speaker 1 (19:12):
It does not matter. They are everywhere.

Speaker 2 (19:14):
And I'm not hoping or wishing for anything bad to happen,
but I know how city government usually works. Until something
bad happened, the city government is not really motivated to
do much of anything. We can use, like you mentioned Metro.
We can use Metro as an example. Now, bad things
have been happening on Metro for quite some time, but
it took a lot of bad things to happen before

(19:37):
we had the mayor, before we had the La County
Board of Supervisors as a group admit, acknowledge and address
the violence, the homelessness, and so forth on the Metro trains, buses,
and platforms.

Speaker 1 (19:54):
I think there's a go ahead now.

Speaker 5 (19:55):
I was gonna say, in all seriousness, it will take
someone losing their life to say a pack of coyotes
for local city government to take the coyote threat seriously.

Speaker 2 (20:06):
You can't do anything to them, you can't do anything
with them legally. I cannot harm a coyote. I legally
cannot run them down. Legally, I can't poison them. I can,
I guess call a relocation service. And they are out
there where they will set up traps, these humane traps

(20:26):
where they will trap the coyote, and I don't know
redistribute them somewhere. I don't know where that is. Maybe
it's out in the desert somewhere, but they never tell us.
But it's not in your neighborhood anymore. But they're not
dealing with the actual coyote threat, and I think it's
largely due to the fact that it's not perceived as
a threat. And they are absolutely a threat. They're a

(20:47):
threat to small children, they're a threat to pets, small pets,
and their threat as far as disease. And we're overlooking
them because I think some people wrongly look at them
as adjacent to pets. They're just they're just cute dogs
of a sort wandering the streets. Let's just leave them alone.
We're encroaching upon their natural habitat, and I agree, we

(21:09):
are encroaching upon where they live, but it doesn't make
them any less dangerous. In this story, even though it
may have been a dog. I'm not exactly sure whether
that's the case, but we're told that it was a
dog and not a coyote.

Speaker 1 (21:23):
Coyote is very specific.

Speaker 2 (21:24):
I don't know how you back that up or back
away from the coyote original thought to get the dog.
But if we don't actually look at this as something
that could be very serious, something that could be very dangerous, well,
we're just asking ourselves, we're begging ourselves.

Speaker 1 (21:43):
To have a real incident with coyotes.

Speaker 2 (21:45):
And then I have to get back on the radio
like I did with Metro and say, see, I told
you so. We could have done something in advance, but
now we're doing something after the fact and we can't
undo which was done.

Speaker 1 (21:54):
But before I go to break on this segment, not
a de la Cruz, I'm sure you're there. You joined us.

Speaker 2 (22:00):
I don't know which hat you wear it tonight. One
night you like the Dodgers, one night you like the Yankees.
I know, I know you grew up in New York,
you live in LA But you gotta choose a side
right now?

Speaker 8 (22:11):
Oh do I really know you?

Speaker 5 (22:13):
Do?

Speaker 4 (22:14):
I know?

Speaker 9 (22:14):
Hey, I gave you I'm a woman on my word.
I said the Dodgers, and I'm gonna stick with that.
But you know, I was just reminded. Yesterday my father
called me and he said, he said, I'm sending you
a package. And I said, okay, what's in it? He goes, listen,
I'm gonna send you a hat. I'm gonna send you
a sweatshirt. What size are you? I said, sh medium?

Speaker 1 (22:33):
And he said what? What?

Speaker 8 (22:34):
What size hat are you? I said I don't know.
I'm a small medium and he said, no, what's size?
Which you know those fitt of one? I said, I
don't know, seven in a quarter. I don't know.

Speaker 9 (22:44):
So he goes, I said, you know what, just give
me one of those snappy ones because I always have,
you know, my hair and a bun and a ponytail.
And he said okay, he goes, but you're gonna wear it, right,
don't forget where you're from?

Speaker 8 (22:53):
And I said, yes, sir. He goes, you gonna wear it? Yes,
of course, and very demanding him.

Speaker 9 (22:59):
So he said, don't forget where you're from and I said, yeah, dad,
And I said, but I don't know if I could
wear it to the station because I gave mo my word.
He goes, yeah, but don't forget where you're from. You
don't have to wear it to the station, but you
could wear it. And I want, I want to see
a picture.

Speaker 2 (23:12):
Does your dad know that the station that you're in
right now is down the hall from the Dodgers radio network.

Speaker 8 (23:20):
He doesn't need to know that. He does not. You
don't want to start nothing, No, sir, I do not.
I do not at all.

Speaker 9 (23:27):
But I am wearing a Vinskulli T shirt some peace,
and I am wearing a Brooklyn Dodgers hat. And if
you remember, yes, remember the Brooklyn Dodgers used to be
the Brooklyn Grays and they came to LA in nineteen
fifty seven. So regardless, Dodgers still represent a side of

(23:50):
New York.

Speaker 2 (23:51):
While I have you what is coming up on Friday
Nights with Ndica de la Cruz.

Speaker 8 (23:56):
Oh, So I went.

Speaker 9 (23:58):
I was in the beautiful city of Malibu, and I
went to the historic Adamson House in Malibu, and I
also went to this amazing restaurant called Jeffries in Malibu
and for.

Speaker 8 (24:11):
My hit and jam.

Speaker 9 (24:12):
You know, we're going to be talking about kind of
repurposing things. It's what an organization called Rediscovercenter dot org.
So it's all about repurposing things and maybe after I
talk about Antonio some of us could get motivated, and.

Speaker 2 (24:29):
That's coming up at the top of the hour, but
before we get there, joining me on the show. Next
will be WWE United States Champion and superstar La Night
as we kick off the lead up to wrestle Mania
forty one, which is going to be in Las Vegas
at Allegiance Stadium in April.

Speaker 1 (24:46):
That's next. Keep it right here.

Speaker 7 (24:48):
You're listening to Later with Moe Kelly on demand from
KFI AM six forty So Jimmy and.

Speaker 10 (24:55):
His proper Somo Sokoa the of course you're take on
John Sanna and La Night in this match. This I
spoke calla a Knight earlier today. I spoke La Night
earlier today, and he told me, guys that this is

(25:15):
indeed the biggest match of his life, the opportunity to
team up with John Cena on this grand stage against
the Bloodline. He understands what this means.

Speaker 3 (25:24):
This truly has the potential to be a make or
break matchup for La Night regarding the future of his
WWE career, But it may be the hardest task of
his entire life.

Speaker 5 (25:35):
And anytime you get the team up with a goat,
you're gonna learn some stuff too.

Speaker 7 (25:38):
So whatever happens tonight is gonna help La Night in
the future.

Speaker 1 (25:41):
In we got sena start to this.

Speaker 10 (25:45):
Match called sixteen times World Champion. I've dug him the
greatest of all time, and I firmly believed that John
Cena against Jimmy Usso.

Speaker 2 (25:55):
Of the Bloodline k if I Am six forty It's

WWE's WrestleMania forty one is coming to a Legion Stadium
in Las Vegas on April nineteenth and twentieth, and tickets
are available right now via Ticketmaster. Over the last four decades,
WrestleMania has evolved from a made for television spectacle to
a cultural phenomenon complete with stadium and arena events, fan festivities,

(26:18):
and a premium experience.

Speaker 1 (26:20):
I remember watching the very first one as a teenager.

Speaker 2 (26:22):
In addition to the two nights stadium event, WWE will
bring all of its television properties and the twenty twenty
five WWE Hall of Fame Ceremony to Las Vegas. Joining
me right now to help kick off WrestleMania forty one
season is none other than the WWE U United States
Champion himself, La Night.

Speaker 1 (26:40):
La Knight, is a pleasure to meet you, Champ. How
you doing tonight?

Speaker 4 (26:43):
I'm good man. I'm dying out of here in Brooklyn.
We got to snack down here. Of course, we have
WrestleMania coming up, and that's what we're here to talk about.

Speaker 11 (26:50):
We got tickets on sale now.

Speaker 2 (26:52):
It doesn't get bigger than WrestleMania. It doesn't get bigger
than Las Vegas. Did you, as a Maryland kid have
any idea whatsoever that life would lead you in this direction?

Speaker 11 (27:02):
I mean not as a kid, that's for sure.

Speaker 4 (27:05):
But you know, once I got to college is kind
of where I got the inkling of this idea to
go wrestle. And you know, once I did that, this
is kind of the aim was to you know, I
didn't want to do I didn't want to do it
as you know, maybe I'll make it for me. It
was like put everything I can into making this happen.
So in a way, no, I but at the same

(27:26):
time it was kind of this is where I always
had my eyes trained.

Speaker 2 (27:29):
I remember the WWE backham when it was the WWF
and how the talent was so very different than today.
The athleticism today is unreal. You grew up as a
kid during the WWE Attitude era. What do you remember
about that time as just a fan?

Speaker 11 (27:46):
I mean just just being larger life buddy.

Speaker 4 (27:50):
Everybody had a rap, everybody was able to talk, a
lot of trash. It was just a good like you know,
even people that I knew growing up as kids who
didn't traditionally like wrestling, all of a sudden.

Speaker 11 (28:02):
They were into it.

Speaker 4 (28:04):
And so that was always kind of like, Okay, wow,
now it's like more mainstream. And you know my brothers
for instance, who were a little bit more and be like, oh, I.

Speaker 11 (28:12):
Just watched for the talking. You know.

Speaker 4 (28:15):
Then it was kind of like that. That was kind
of a big thing to be able to talk and
then you know, backing it up with the matches. So yeah,
everybody's a lot more I would say, athletic now and
able to do crazy, flashy looking things.

Speaker 11 (28:27):
But at the same time, you got to be able.

Speaker 1 (28:28):
To talk and.

Speaker 11 (28:30):
Bring the people in, sell the fight, and then get in.

Speaker 2 (28:32):
There and do I find your story remarkable And if
there's anything really remarkable about your story is how humbling
it is. You worked at a ruby tuesdays, you worked
at a lumber mill, You had to drop out of
college because the financial issues. You have been at this
for a very very long time. You have not been
an overnight success. Did you ever think that you would

(28:52):
give up along the way?

Speaker 4 (28:54):
No, act, no point way where I really thought that
I would give up, except for during the pandemic, where
I was just like, this might really change things on
such an enormous level. I don't know, they're going to
be bringing people in now when the world's turned upside down.

Speaker 11 (29:11):
Like plus, you know a.

Speaker 4 (29:13):
Age where people kind of look negatively at oh, you know,
can he still do it?

Speaker 11 (29:17):
It's like, well, yeah, I'm an amazing shape. I can move.

Speaker 4 (29:20):
I'm I'm moving better than half the guys that I know.
They're in the twenties, So yeah, there's no problem there.
But with that in mind, you you think of the
optics of that and everything that was going on. That's
really the only time where I really started that there
was a time or ability for doubt.

Speaker 11 (29:38):
I had to keep pushing because I was due.

Speaker 4 (29:40):
It was connecting, even on those smaller circuits where it
was working.

Speaker 11 (29:45):
So no, I just just keep that in the faith.

Speaker 1 (29:49):
If you're just tuning in.

Speaker 2 (29:50):
My guess right now is the WWE United States Champion,
La Night, La Night. Let's get into WrestleMania forty one
Sin City Allegiance Stadium tickets on sale.

Speaker 1 (30:00):
Well, right now, what should we expect? Who should we expect?

Speaker 11 (30:04):
Man? Well, I tell you what. You're talking about a show.
It's so big.

Speaker 4 (30:07):
It's got to be two nights, and we're doing two
nights in Vegas, which is cool. Actually, if I'm honest,
WrestleMania's doing two nights in Vegas.

Speaker 11 (30:14):
We're doing a lot more than that.

Speaker 4 (30:14):
Because you got Friday Night, got smacked it.

Speaker 11 (30:17):
Monday, you're gonna have Raw.

Speaker 4 (30:19):
Saturday afternoon, you're gonna have NXT, You're gonna have the
Hall of Fame Friday night. There's so much happening that weekend.
It's gonna be action packed for sure. At the same time,
when you talk about what to expect, who to expect,
anything can happen. Anybody can show up and be there.
Celebrities will show up all the time. But at the
same time, it is going to be John Cena's last WrestleMania.
He's already announced this, He's caught his shop. It's gonna

(30:42):
be his last WrestleMania. Say, we know that's gonna happen
for sure, and when you're looking at April, it's gonna
come at us quick. But at the same time, there's
so much stuff that can develop, so who knows where
things are gonna end up by.

Speaker 2 (30:51):
That When you are on that mat and there are
literally ten to twenty thousand people around you screaming and
yelling and you're in the do you hear anyone? Do
you see anyone? Or are you just so locked in
that you don't notice anyone?

Speaker 4 (31:06):
Uh No, I always try and to get an eye
on everybody as much as I can, And yeah, I
mean you'll hear you can hear everyone. But at the
same time, it's like you can hear the little bits
of voices here and there every now and then too,
So I mean everybody kind of has a voice in
that room, which is crazy because it's like on TV especially,

(31:26):
you're pretty much the massive swallow of the crowd based
but like in there, standing there, you can hear every person.
So that's kind of the cool thing about being there
live is you really get to be truly a part
of the show.

Speaker 1 (31:39):
My time is growing short with you, La Night.

Speaker 2 (31:41):
But let me ask you this, Since you can hear
the voices, since you are aware of the people around you,
since you're obviously aware of the enormity of the event,
even at this portion of your career, do you still
get butterflies? Do you still get a little bit nervous
given the size of the moment?

Speaker 4 (31:58):
I don't think there's a way to not have that happen.
I feel like anybody who does this, no matter how
long you've done it, you always get a little bit
of that a little bit of those nerves just before
you go out the curtain. The weird thing about it, though,
is as soon as you cross that rubicon and you
go through that curtain.

Speaker 11 (32:16):
It's all gone. Announce time to do the work.

Speaker 2 (32:19):
Coming up on April nineteenth and twentieth, be sure to
check out La Knight, who is the WWE United States Champion,
and more who will be out there as part of
the Cavalcade of Stars for WrestleMania forty one at Allegiance Stadium.
Tickets are now on sale at Ticketmaster. La Night, this
is our first conversation. I've been a lifelong wrestling fan
WWFWWE fan, I wish you nothing but success and thank

(32:42):
you so much for coming on the show tonight.

Speaker 4 (32:44):
Thank you very much, man, I appreciate everybody. Go get
to WrestleMania tickets and I'll see that.

Speaker 2 (32:48):
It's later with Moe Kelly k IF I am six forty.
We're live everywhere on the iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 7 (32:54):
It's hard to keep tranking everything that's going on. Luckily
that's a little hobby of ours.
