(01:11):
but the team captain of the wakeup Call Wigglers. You should wear
you know, you should sort ofwear a pope hat. Now you don't

just as well. But it isyou should be out there in full regalia.
Great, I'll think about it,please please, and then we'll put
it. Then we post it andit's wonderful stuff. All right. Here's

(01:34):
what happened. We've been covering thisand it is quote breaking news and it
was the biggest international story yesterday. Is Israel did carry out a strike inside
Iran. Iran after what happened afterOctober seventh, and you had Husbala,
for example, launching missiles into Israel, which happens all the time. Iran

(01:57):
had never launched missiles or attacked Israelproper within the confines of Israeli airspace and
what the country of Israel past itssovereign territory or into its sovereign territory.
And they did, and they didlast Saturday, launching three hundred missiles and

(02:23):
drones and rockets into Israel. Notonly was it unprecedented, but the number
of attacks, the just the thesheer level and magnitude of these attacks sort

(02:44):
of had everybody stunned. Iran hadsaid over and over again, it is
going to get involved and it isgoing to do something. Okay, So
Israelis were waiting for it, soIsrael preemptively takes out the Iranian counsulate in

(03:05):
the Damascus, Syria. Most ofthe groups in Syria, A lot of
groups in Syria are proxies of Iran. As Is, the Huthis, as
hes Blah are simply proxies. Iranfunds them, trains them, supplies arms
to them, and it's pretty sophisticatedstuff. So income the rockets, three
hundred of them, the Iron Dome, the Patriot missile system that Israel has,

(03:30):
the most sophisticated anti missile system thatappears in the world, was able
to shoot down ninety nine percent ofthem. In reality, ninety percent of
the missiles never even made it overIsraeli soil. They were shot down by
American Air Force fighters, French SaudiArabia Air Force. Now, how is

(03:55):
it one Arab country would shoot downthe miss of another Arab country, Although
the Uranians don't consider themselves Arabs.I'll tell you why, because Iran.
Because Saudi Arabia is more frightened ofIran than any other country. If Saudi
Arabia falls, it will be becauseof Iran, and Iran will hang every

(04:19):
one of that royal family, everymember, I mean it is, they're
ready to go. So what happened? So down comes the consulate in Damascus,
I mean just rubble. It's atargeted attack. Goes if you look
at it, goes to show youthe targeting abilities of Israel in the United

(04:42):
States and other countries that use veryhigh precision munitions. Only the building was
leveled on either side. The buildingsare standing. It's gotten the point now
where you could put a cruise missilefired from three thousand miles away through the
window of a building if you aimit. So down goes the Consulate Iran,

(05:06):
and Iran retaliates by sending the missilesand the rockets, three hundred of
them, no damage or virtually nodamage. Nobody killed, few people injured,
one little girl fighting for her life. So now Israel says we are
going to retaliate against Iran. JoeBiden calls N'atanyahu and says absolutely not.

(05:27):
Hey, Iran, attacking you isa win for you. You were able
to take out every single missile exceptjust one percent that came through and did
virtually no damage. Now, withour help, with the help of Saudi
Arabia, with the Allies help,we were able to do it. You
have to consider this a win, especially since you're talking about the magnitude of

(05:51):
the attack. So Israel says we'regoing to retaliate. Remember this is the
most right wing pro war government thathas ever been in Israel. So ISRAEL'SNNA
attack Iran effectively says, okay, you've got our embassy. We attacked you.

(06:11):
Even Stephen or even Mahmud, whateverthey call themselves, over there,
Iran sent over missiles and rockets thatwere hundreds of miles away, thousands of
miles away, and no damage shotdown. And so they made a point.
They knew the air superiority, theyknew the defense aspects of Israel,

(06:34):
and they figured, okay, wemade our point. We retaliated for the
Damascus bombing of the consulate, andso now it's over. Israel says we're
going to retaliate. We're going toretaliate. How badly did they retaliate?
To what extent did Israel retaliate?Almost nothing? Almost nothing. It's basically

(06:58):
over. Nobody wants a regional war, not Iran, not the government of
Lebanon, certainly not Israel. Becauseif this thing explodes, it is.
That's World War three. That's whereWorld War three is going to start in
the Mid East. And Iran actuallytamped it down and they simply retaliated by
an unprovoked attack on their consulate. So Israel starts it. Iran retaliates in

(07:27):
a modified degree, not very much, and now Israel has to go ahead
and retaliate, and they did minorly, not a big deal, and Iran
said we're done even before the missilesreached. While the missiles were in the
air, they said, that's it, We're done. Did the United States

(07:48):
know about it? Yep. Israelalways tells the United States what an attack
is going to happen and what they'regoing to do. This time they were
simply told. The US was simplytold it's going to happen, were launching,
not specifics. And so out ofthis disaster comes pretty good news.

(08:09):
It looks like World War IIE AmidEast War has been averted. So talking
about Iran and Israel, a littlebit of history between Israel and the United
States. As you know, weare the Great Satan, and there are
constant demonstrations in Tehran and other cities. American flag is burnt. I mean
by the tens of thousands, andIsraeli flags are burnt. And every time

(08:31):
there is anything anti Israeli, whenthere is an attack on Israel, for
example, the October Sephar of theattack, they celebrated in Iran, but
it was always not the case.Iran and the United States have a very
interesting relationship going back to the establishmentof the Shaw of Iran in nineteen fifty

(08:52):
three. And for those of usthat are old enough to remember the Shaw,
you were around in the late seventies, the Shah of Iran was deposed.
I guess if you want to depose. There was a revolution where Iyotola
Romani came in and he then tookover. The mulahs took over, and
it became a theocracy. It basicallybecame a dictatorship of the religious leaders to

(09:18):
this day, and now you havean anti Israel. By the way that
was, it wasn't a takeover. You had the people in the streets wanting
the Shaw to be overturned. Therewas so much corruption that they welcomed the
Iotol into the country. So duringthe Shaw's period, the United States and

(09:43):
Israel actually got along. The UnitedStates and Iran got along. The Israel
and Iran got along. It wasa time when Jews did great in Iran,
and then comes to nineteen seventy ninerevolution. Jews leave and a lot
of them leave with nothing, andthey did very well in the United States.

(10:05):
Matter of fact, the chandelier businessexploded when they came to the US.
US lighting did very, very well, and so the US ties disappeared.
Certainly, the Israeli ties disappeared.Nineteen fifty three, the CIA got
involved in helping the Shah take power. So it has gone from nineteen forty

(10:28):
seven. Nineteen forty nine is whenNATO was created. Nineteen forty eight was
when Israel declared itself a sovereign country. Iran was the second Arab country to
recognize Israel. That was nineteen fiftythat was two years after the declaration of
Israel as a country. And itgot very friendly under the Shaw lots of

(10:50):
corruption, and then come the revolutionin nineteen seventy nine and it started going
into the toilet. The relation Iran, obviously it's very anti Jewish, is
very anti Israel. Basically leads theArab world against Israel, and now Israel

(11:11):
and Iran are mortal enemies and wejust had this recent attack. Iran came
into it for basically no reason otherthan its hatred of Israel and its solidarity
with anybody who would attack Israel proPalestinian since the inception of the new regime

(11:35):
in Iran. And so we thoughtthis was going to go balsa law.
I thought regional war was going tostart. But Iran and the United States
and particularly Israel, United States pressuringthe parties, particularly Israel, to calm
down. Yeah, there's retaliation, not too much proportional moderate making the point

(11:58):
here it is we have the powerto screw with you. Don't attack us.
Israel says, we have the power. Of course, Israel has the
power. Israel has the bomb.Iran actually, until Trump took us out
of the treaty with Iran, actuallywas not building the bomb according to intelligence.

(12:20):
Then as soon as Trump pulled out, they went balls of the wall.
They still don't have a bomb. They're still being fairly moderate about it,
even though they're moving in that direction. So we're seeing Israel, the
United States, with its influence Iranpulling back from this regional war confrontation.
So we'll see what happens. Ithas gone from under the Pavli dynasty nineteen

(12:45):
fifty three to nineteen seventy nine propro Israel, pro Jewish to the revolution
where it become the most anti Jewishstate in the world. So are we
ever going to be friends with They'reon Well, if the overthrow of the
regime happens and the economy isn't doingwell, the regime is not particularly well

(13:07):
liked by particularly young people, becauseremember, this is a fundament this is
a fundamentalist Muslim philosophy, and theyfollow Sharia law. You don't wear a
hey job. Then you join JoeBiden's uncle and you get your head removed
and they eat you. No,I'm conflating it, aren't I Yeah,

(13:31):
okay, so they don't take yourhead off, but it's pretty close.
Now. I want to end ourme monologuing before we get to Oh,
Neil's going to join us. Nextsegment, and that is how much bird
crap do you eat? Constantly? And it's a lot the race to keep

(13:58):
the Amtrak train from falling into thePacific. If you take Amtrak along the
Pacific route, which is absolutely gorgeous. It's one of the most beautiful route
trains in the world. It spentaround since eighteen eighty eight, by the
way, is when they first camefirst ran the train along the coast.
Well, on the bottom line isyou better learn how to swim, because
it's the only question of time whenit falls in the ocean unless they move

(14:22):
it way inland. And then you'renot talking about ocean views anymore. Now
you're talking about driving to Las Vegasvia Highway five where there's nothing there,
and there have been shutdowns over theyears. And why Well, because you
have erosion and lots of it.You have boulders coming down off the mountain

(14:43):
right next to it. Go toPacific Palisades, go to Santa Monica,
and you'll see these huge steel barriers, these steel walls, and then occasionally
you'll see netting over the rocks andthey it's just it's going to cost a
fortune. Howlifornia is disappearing. Climatechange has done it. You've seen beaches
that a road. You know whatthey do at beaches that a road.

(15:05):
They bring in sand, thousands andthousands of cubic yards of sand. And
where does the sand go, goesout to the ocean. It lasts for
a little while. If you're goingto pay fourteen million dollars for a home
in Malibu on the water. Beprepared that you should be building it on
stilts like they do in New Orleansand in parts of Louisiana. It is

(15:28):
going to be that bad. Soyou've got boulders that have been installed,
steel pilings, concrete walls that allowthe surfliners just to operate. So Big
Sur on the coast, and thisis one of the areas that is most
at risk. They want to theengineers want to dig a tunnel underneath Big

(15:52):
Sir, so the train can stillgo along the coast except for this little
section. Well, whenever there isis any kind of a major change of
anything, rezoning, putting up newbuildings, establishing some kind of a park,
it doesn't matter what happens. Theneighbors file lawsuits. And in this
case, guess what happened. Thepeople in Big Sur filed lawsuits. And

(16:18):
they're saying. One of them issaying, why change one disaster for another?
So don't change at all. Wedon't want to trade off one unsafe
situation for another. And this isthe Coalition for Safer Trains, coalition of
people who ride trains that don't swim. That's another coalition that's very strong and

(16:41):
relocating the tracks has been done acouple of times where they have relocated the
track from the coast inland several milesor at least several hundred yards in some
cases. It's billions and billions ofdollars. So what's going to happen?
I think that a train is goingto go not maybe not into the ocean.

(17:03):
I mean they've already it's have youseen photos videos of the landslide right
up to the tracks. It's likephotos of houses where the house the swimming
pool ends literally at the end ofthe ridge and then it disappears. That's

(17:25):
what's going to happen to and didhappen to the train system to the Pacific
surf lineer. Have you ever beenon it? By the way, Amy
Neil, And it is gorgeous. We took it up as Santa Barbara March
Apps. It is absolutely gorgeous. It's on our list. We want to
take max maybe the Santa Barbara SanDiego, that type of thing. Yeah,

(17:49):
it's pretty neat. Not cheap.Train rides are not treat cheap.
Amtrak was created, took this thingover in the seventies and Amtrak had a
horrible reputation because it was horrible.Today it's not bad. I mean,
the food is still inedible, butthey have the dome. I've always wanted

(18:11):
to take a train across the country, actually in Canada, across the Canadian
Rockies, which is supposed to bespectacular and you don't have too much erosion
across the Canadian the Rockies. Andthen everybody tells me it is it is
stunning, it is beautiful. Youwill love every minute for about ten minutes,

(18:34):
and then you've seen it, andthen you go, now what for
the next three days. That's likepeople that take a cruise ship and they
have them up the Amazon, andyou go twenty five hundred miles from Bim,
which is the eastern most port inBrazil, and you can literally go

(18:55):
to the middle of Brazil up theAmazon. It's probably the only ocean going
river on the planet where you canput big ships. And I have to
tell you, it is spectacular forten minutes, and then you're looking at
the same greenery for twenty five hundredmiles and you realize, I'm paying money
for this, but you have theattention span of a net. That's true,

(19:17):
but that doesn't mean that after okay, several hours and you're looking at
the same pile of green and you'rehearing all these noises, which, in
fact, if you look carefully, there are speakers that are placed along the
brush and along the foliage by thecruise company, so you have something to

(19:37):
hear. Neil is joining us becausethis is a food topic, well not
quite a food topic. It's yes, it is. Poop equals food.
And here is the story out ofthe La Times epidem epidemi epidemiologists, we'll
figure that one out. To figureout how dairy cows through the Midwest have

(20:03):
been infected with the avian flu.We know that millions and millions of birds
have been destroyed, which is whychicken is so cheap now in the market,
because they have plenty of avian fludead chickens. And here's what's going
on. And I'll bet you didn'tknow this. I didn't. In order
to raise livestock, it's expensive forthe meal, the grain, the food

(20:30):
for livestock. What they do,what the people that raise the livestock do
is they use the animal waste, chickens, chicken crap and eat. That's
what's used for human conception. Soyou got chickens not for us, no,

(20:51):
but we eat it. It's justa yeah, I understand, But
say how about antibiotics. They takethem, we get them, So it's
still bird crap that's used to feedthe animals that we eat. Now,
is there a transfer of avian flu? Which is pretty rare, I mean,
very few cows fly, but itis there a transfer of avian flu

(21:15):
from an animal? There's been oneto humans one however, you know,
scientists are a little bit worried aboutthat. By the way, that's perfectly
legal and common practice. Chicken litteris what they call it chicken crap.
It accumulates on the floor of chickengrowing facilities and then fed to cattle.

(21:37):
Neil, did you know that?Yes, that's disgusting. Here's the thing.
The law is different for cows you'regonna eat versus milking cows. You
can't do It's not legal to dothis for a milking cow because the transfer
of those things is different into thelactation of the cow that it is,
into the meat of the cow,but all the cows. But it's all

(22:00):
pasteur eyes. You know, themilk is heated up and it kills pathogens.
Yeah, but why would they sayno, it's still not a practice
that is legal in the United States. They the federal government. Yeah,
does have an allowance for certain thingsthat you might be surprised in. As
a matter of fact, that's rodenthair. You can have, you know,

(22:22):
one rodent hair per I think it'sone hundred grams of peanut butter or
something mold and rot and you knowapple's rot. So yes, there's a
certain amount I think it's twelve percentor less of mold than the like can
be in apple products. Animal feces, Yeah, as gross as it seems,

(22:44):
you're gonna have this stuff. Evenfruitflies, their maggots, parasites,
insect feces. I'm sorry, butthese all end up in food to a
certain degree. Now, when itcomes to what they you referred to as
as you know, bird stuff,it's you know, the poultry. This
is what's underneath them. That couldbe their poop, that could be feathers,
it could be even part of thebedding. There's a certain amount of

(23:08):
that that is allowed to be fedto cows because there is nutrient value in
it, no train value, butit's because it's a fertilizer. Yeah,
oh buy that there is no trainvalue because plants and greenery absorb the nitrogen
in there. I'll buy that thereare things in it so that chicken litter

(23:29):
or what they call poultry litter. As far as it transferring the bird flu,
which is what this article is aboutvia this feed, it's not impossible
but incredibly unlikely. So this storyis kind of like there's one knows,
but it's just disgusting. And Ithink some writers said woke up and said,

(23:52):
how am I going to discuss everybodytoday? That's kind of how I
feel, which as you, becauseit's pretty improbable that this is how it
transferred from birds to you know, cows. Like this great story, but
yeah, it's really just to getus to talk about and it got me
excited. And I'm gonna end withthe national dish of Brazil, which I'm

(24:15):
going to share with you. It'scalled feud. It's a bean stew that's
poured on white rice and it isthe meat that is used in or chicken
lips and cows well where you don'twant to go very often, and ears

(24:36):
and snouts, and it's pretty goodstuff. It really is. You gotta
love Portuguese. It makes even cowbumsound beautiful. Yeah, and that's exactly
where they get it, cow's buttholes. It's a little chewy if you've ever
had it, but very good. This is a disgusting I Am six forty
