and then probably into the next although I'm taking some
bagels home.
Speaker 3 (00:56):
Oh, for the love of God, do you need a
couple of bucks?
Speaker 2 (01:00):
You know what? Yeah? I do, lindsay, would you do me
a favorite?
Speaker 1 (01:02):
Would you or Shannon get a to go bag, you know,
one of those classic bags, and we'll uh, I'll take
some bagels to go before get some pocket and Zelmans
is free giving away free samples Zelman's Mint, Team Mouth
and Neil and I talk about and introducing the new
(01:25):
Spearman Zelmans and come on by get.
Speaker 2 (01:28):
Get some free sample. Just took that's part of that
is part of my morning habit. Yeah, yep, I yeah,
I do Zelmons too.
Speaker 1 (01:36):
I wake up. Do I take Selmons before I pee?
Or I pee first?
Speaker 2 (01:40):
I pee first and then I take Zelman's. I'm surprised
you don't do it during your time. Yeah, what do
you mean?
Speaker 4 (01:49):
Multitas?
Speaker 1 (01:50):
As I said earlier, at the top of every hour,
and we're going to be doing this all day. I
think Michelle sets this up is we talk about well,
I give you the announcement or someone tells you what
our totals are. So at the seven o'clock hour, at
the end of the first hour of the show, we
were at thirty thousand dollars and six thousand pounds give
(02:10):
or take of pasta and sauce.
Speaker 2 (02:13):
Which is ahead of last year.
Speaker 1 (02:15):
Okay, Now, in the hour that we have been on
the air since during the seven o'clock hour, the total
is now one hundred thousand dollars saw and eleven thousand
pounds and some change. You have pasta and sauce. Last
year we were able to raise one point three million
(02:38):
dollars for Katerina's Club.
Speaker 2 (02:40):
Oh, I have gone and Neil Amy, you'll appreciate this.
Speaker 1 (02:43):
I have met DJs and hosts from other stations, I
mean major market stations.
Speaker 2 (02:49):
Oh, let me tell you about our charity.
Speaker 1 (02:50):
We raised eighty thousand dollars, we raised sixty thousand, We
raised over one hundred thousand dollars ago. How about one
point three million dollars for a local station.
Speaker 2 (03:01):
It stuns them.
Speaker 3 (03:02):
I love when you charity shame. One of my favorite
things during this time of giving.
Speaker 4 (03:07):
Yeah, it's such a beautiful thing.
Speaker 2 (03:10):
Yeah, only Handle.
Speaker 3 (03:11):
It's the only time Handle ever wants to pull out
a ruler. Let me assure you of that.
Speaker 5 (03:17):
Look at how much we raise, you know, KFI listeners
bar I mean, there is nothing that compares to them
as far as the giving and the way they mobilize.
Speaker 2 (03:28):
Well, think about this.
Speaker 1 (03:29):
The most giving society in the world are Americans, and
that there's a bunch of reasons for that. We don't
have a safety net they do otherwise, But we are
in the most generous people on the planet. KFI listeners
are probably the most generous people that exist in terms
of a local market yeah, other than Bill Gates or
Warren Buffett, you know, write checks for fifty billion dollars.
Speaker 2 (03:52):
So we are well.
Speaker 4 (03:54):
And you know what you mentioned huge checks, which is great.
Speaker 6 (03:57):
We love the big bucks, but it's I think it's
also the collective of a dollar here, five dollars there,
ten dollars there.
Speaker 4 (04:03):
It's what you can afford. We know that everybody's a
little strapped, but if you can, if you can donate
a little bit, we'll take that.
Speaker 2 (04:09):
That's up quickly. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (04:10):
I love the little kids, the five year old the
six year olds come with their little piggy banks and
you know coming, this is all my money, and I go.
Speaker 2 (04:19):
You're gonna starve, you stupid idiot. Don't get that.
Speaker 1 (04:23):
That's okay, daddy?
Speaker 2 (04:26):
Is that the Devil? Yes, honey, you keep your money. Okay,
you're gonna need it at not.
Speaker 3 (04:33):
The department stoarege devil. That's the real one, not just
one of his helpers.
Speaker 2 (04:37):
All right, we're gonna come back.
Speaker 1 (04:39):
Oh I have the auction items are terrific this year,
and there's so much fun and these raise a pile
of money actually, so yeah, we got a lot of
stuff to talk about it, so please come on by
if you happen to be anywhere near Orange County. North
Orange County. We're in Anaheim and that's the Anaheim White
(04:59):
House restaurant Bruno's Place, and it's absolutely gorgeous and what
a destination restaurant without the destination prices. By the way,
the kind of food that he has is actually it's
as good as those places you charge one hundred and
fifty dollars ahead kind of place, and here it's only
one hundred and forty dollars ahead.
Speaker 2 (05:17):
That's not true. But we're going to come back.
Speaker 3 (05:20):
And it's great during the holidays. I love this place
during the holidays.
Speaker 1 (05:24):
Yeah, it super dressed up and feels festive. Festive that's
the word. I don't know the holidays, I don't know.
KFI is here in Anaheim, which we do every year
for pastathon.
Speaker 2 (05:37):
You come on buy.
Speaker 1 (05:38):
I have some bagels, coffee, Coachella, cot Shella, Colli val Yeah, rally.
Speaker 2 (05:46):
So the guys Falley Valley Coffee are here. Coachella, Coachella, yeah,
Coachella and great coffee.
Speaker 1 (05:54):
Bagels of course are Cure silent, and we have a
Zelman's minty Mouth. They're here with free samples and introducing
their new Expeerimid flavor.
Speaker 2 (06:04):
Also, lindsay, would you do me a favorite?
Speaker 1 (06:05):
Hunt? Uh is grab some of those bagels? Oh you
already got them? Okay, thank you?
Speaker 2 (06:12):
Seriously you're gonna hell? Yes, those are great bagels. What
I'm not gonna take them home?
Speaker 7 (06:18):
Wow?
Speaker 2 (06:18):
Thanks for breaking the stereotype. Yeah, I forgot say.
Speaker 3 (06:22):
These are great bagels and the chairs are nice. Yeah,
throw a couple in the back of the car.
Speaker 1 (06:27):
If you can get a dozen free bagels, you go
for it, all right.
Speaker 3 (06:31):
So I do want to give a huge thanks to
the folks they gave accommodations to the crew.
Speaker 2 (06:38):
This takes a lot of work here.
Speaker 3 (06:40):
Obviously the KFI pastathon through loved their accommodations at the
newly transformed Hilton Anaheim. So discover all the new guest
rooms modern California. Look, you can relax at the rooftop
pool deck and the Salt.
Speaker 2 (06:58):
Salt Flour poolside. Is that a little eatery there? Did
you eat? Well?
Speaker 4 (07:04):
I didn't because that must be down on the ground level.
Speaker 3 (07:07):
Oh, or dine at the new Poppies restaurant There didnt.
Speaker 6 (07:10):
Have a Poppy's burger last night? It was great and
their French fries are to die for.
Speaker 3 (07:16):
Oh well, don't die, whether it's a family's staycation or
a weekend escape. Escape, rather make your next day unforgettable.
At Hilton Anaheim Hotel dot com.
Speaker 2 (07:27):
Did you have leftovers that you.
Speaker 4 (07:31):
Can take with your baby? Yes, actually I have a
half a hamburger and it's in the trunk.
Speaker 2 (07:35):
Okay, in the trunk, so let it sit there for
a few hours. Well, she had to, I had to
check out. I had to feed the guy. She took right,
all right, I just really quickly the door.
Speaker 1 (07:47):
Obviously, we're raising money, very funny for Katerina's Club, and
it's Chef Bruno's charity providing twenty five thousand meals every
week to the kids in need. And you can donate
any time, and we obviously ask you to help us
make this happen, because without you, it doesn't happen.
Speaker 2 (08:05):
And last year we raised one point.
Speaker 1 (08:08):
Three million dollars and one hundred thousand pounds of Positan sauce.
Speaker 2 (08:11):
Right now. We just started too this morning. One hundred
thousand dollars so.
Speaker 4 (08:14):
Far and one thirteenth of the way there.
Speaker 2 (08:17):
Yep, yep, we're on our way.
Speaker 1 (08:18):
We'll get there and real quickly you can go to
any Smart and Final and donate there at the counter
at checkout Yamabab Resort and Casino, cash your winning ticket
in if you want to donate your change if a
winning ticket, you say yes.
Speaker 8 (08:33):
Also, Wendy's is a partner of ours.
Speaker 1 (08:35):
So we thank you a ton and come on out
here because we're going to be here for the entire day,
not us, not the morning crew, but everybody else. Cary
and Shannon following up. And then the items for donation.
These are always fun.
Speaker 2 (08:49):
And this year somewhere.
Speaker 1 (08:51):
Basically it goes year after year and they're huge, hugely successful.
Dodger Game with Dantina Sharp for example, a Dodger Game
with Gary and Shannon, an Hour to get to co.
Speaker 2 (09:03):
Host an Hour with John Coebilt. Have you ever listened
to that though?
Speaker 3 (09:07):
It really is no never have, wildly fascinating and entertaining
and John gets a kicked out.
Speaker 1 (09:15):
Yeah, and it's uh, it always does very very well.
And then something that has never been done, and that
is a broadcast of the Fork Report, Neil's broadcast Saturdays
two to five, and we're gonna be broadcasting live at
my house and we're gonna have a major kokathon where
we're gonna be grilling all kinds of meats, and Anaheim
(09:38):
white House is catering it, which of course is Santa
I'm white House. They I had my daughter's wedding here
that worked out and.
Speaker 2 (09:48):
Her next one. You want to be here.
Speaker 4 (09:50):
Well, the wedding was great.
Speaker 2 (09:52):
The wedding was great. The wedding.
Speaker 1 (09:55):
Yeah, and then so anyway, it's so, what we're gonna
do at my place is we're going to broadcast the show.
Speaker 2 (10:02):
Neil and I are broadcasting his show.
Speaker 1 (10:05):
The Top Bidder will be invited to this broadcast. It
is a private broadcast of which we're not going to
do an event like this is going to be just
very small group of people, family and friends. I have
no friends, family, and it will be about twenty people
there and the Top Bidder will be invited to join
us for the day.
Speaker 2 (10:26):
And we've never ever done that at my house. And huge,
I mean the house is not huge.
Speaker 3 (10:32):
No, I think it's a lovely home. But that's a
huge thing for you to open up.
Speaker 2 (10:37):
Yeah, we've never done this before.
Speaker 3 (10:39):
It right, you didn't let me finish to your coworkers,
that's correct. Yeah, that's very nice.
Speaker 2 (10:45):
I was thrilled to be Well, we do it in
the backyard, and we have a gate.
Speaker 1 (10:49):
That actually you have to the backyard. No one actually
walks through the front door. In any case, it's gonna
be a lot of fun. And Neil wrote this, you
can ride in my home elevator.
Speaker 3 (11:01):
Oh yeah, your lovely wife Lindsey and I worked tirelessly
two marketing.
Speaker 9 (11:07):
Maven's putting to get the copy for So you get
to ride in the elevator from ground floor to penthouse,
two story house. It's just a magazine, yes, also a
tour of my broadcast studio.
Speaker 2 (11:22):
It's one room.
Speaker 1 (11:23):
And then the chair that I sit on you get
to sit It's like the President's chair. You get to
sit in my broadcast chair and I sit on it
naked most of the time, and I sweat a lot
in the morning. So you get to sit on Let
me put it this way. I'll dry it off a
little bit. I'll take a hair I'll take a hair
dryer to it before you sit on it.
Speaker 3 (11:44):
He actually has a full sheep that he sits on
just to be absorbing.
Speaker 2 (11:49):
And the morning crew will be there, Amy will be
there hopefully, and that chair. None of us are going
that chair. I should bring that outside. That's currently at
eight thousand dollars.
Speaker 3 (12:02):
We'd love to see that go up because it goes
to such a great cause. Co host An Hour with
John Copelt is now at thirty eight hundred. Dodgers Game
with Gary and Shannon is now at twenty eight hundred.
Dodger Game with Dian and Tina is at sixteen, so
there's still room to grow there for a great cause.
Speaker 1 (12:21):
We are broadcasting obviously live from the Anaheim White House
restaurant in Anaheim, raising money, donations, etc. For the motel kids.
And here is what one of the Chef Bruno's programs
through Katarina's Club is folks who have lived in a hotel,
Families who let's say, lost their jobs and have some
(12:42):
financial issues and then have to move into well motels.
And I want to introduce you to Abel. Abel has
two kids, a single dad, and he is he lost
his job and it was over a year ago and
he has as well. He was in one of these
(13:03):
facilities and next week he moves into one of the
apartments in this case for that great so able thanks
for joining us, greatly appreciate you for having me.
Speaker 2 (13:15):
Oh well, yeah, no kidding. We want your story.
Speaker 1 (13:19):
So let me ask you you were how long.
Speaker 2 (13:23):
Were you out of a job? Almost a year?
Speaker 1 (13:26):
Okay, so you lost the place you were living in correct,
because you couldn't afford it.
Speaker 2 (13:31):
I assume that's right, it right, all right?
Speaker 1 (13:33):
So here you are a single dad, two kids, and
so tell us what happened from then to now.
Speaker 7 (13:41):
So basically, you know the office that I was working
for at that time, because my sales rep went under,
there's a starting office and so at that point I
had saved up enough money, but I knew that I
wasn't going to be able to keep the apartment. So
once we let go of the apartment, my sailings only
went so far when it came to like a motel.
And then my family's out in Corona, and I'm trying
(14:04):
to work here in Orange County and so, and that
was door dashing.
Speaker 2 (14:09):
Odd jobs here and there.
Speaker 7 (14:11):
I did a little bit of plumbing or as a
plumbing helper, but it just didn't make enough. And sometimes
we did have to sleep in the car until I
got done with one of those jobs to get back
into the motel. And it just was in this cycle
consistently consistent cycle, and I wanted to get out of it.
Speaker 1 (14:30):
And so.
Speaker 7 (14:32):
I'm also I'm also part of a fellowship, and in
that fellowship, one of my friends came up to me
and we talked.
Speaker 2 (14:40):
A little bit.
Speaker 7 (14:41):
I tell them about my situation, and then he was
able to offer me. And this was just a couple
of months ago. He was able to offer me a
room for me and the cads. But at this point,
I'm already knowing that we need to get back into
it and back into an apartment for us. And basically
I needed to find work, and in the field of
work that I do, there's not always an opening in
(15:03):
the offices, so I had to literally just wait and
wait and wait until one became available. And a year
after everything that have occurred, one became available. And now
I'm connected with Katrina's club at this point, and it's honestly,
it's a complete relief off of my shoulders right now.
(15:27):
At the same time, I feel like our lives are
going to get back on track.
Speaker 2 (15:32):
Yeah, clearly.
Speaker 1 (15:34):
And it's how did you connect with Katerina's club?
Speaker 2 (15:38):
We were told about it, so I'm going to approach you.
How was that connection.
Speaker 7 (15:43):
The gentleman who offered us a room to stay in
and came he works at an organization that.
Speaker 2 (15:51):
Is affiliated or works with these types.
Speaker 7 (15:54):
Of organizations, and so he handed me Katrina's club's number,
and that's how I got ahold of them. And I
want to honestly say, like they were. I was surprised
on how quick everything the process was. Like I was
just in awe, like wow, I'm already approved, I'm okay,
now I find a place, and now everything is just
(16:16):
coming together and it just seems like a blink of
an eye.
Speaker 1 (16:20):
Yeah, even by the way, even working and so you
start working, I mean in an apartment today, first last security.
I mean, it's almost impossible for someone to come up
with that kind of money. It's huge, huge dollars. And
there you go. You're gonna be an apartment with your kids.
How old are your kids?
Speaker 7 (16:37):
My son, he's fifteen and my baby girls she's nine,
she's nine year old.
Speaker 1 (16:44):
Your daughter, Yeah, let me tell you, you're gonna be
very sorry you have a daughter.
Speaker 2 (16:50):
But that we'll do that. We'll do that show in
about three four years. Abel.
Speaker 1 (16:56):
Thank you for sharing that story, because it's, uh, you know,
this is what kind Aerna's Club does, and that you're
clearly a poster child or poster man as two hundred
other families are raising money for Katerina's Club.
Speaker 3 (17:10):
But what a testament to the system and the way
they're running things. Able to hear that that it turned
around that quick, quickly relief.
Speaker 1 (17:19):
If Able had gone to the government, able your daughter
would have been through three marriages, four kids and already
on Social Security if you.
Speaker 2 (17:28):
Had gotten through, and they'd be starting the paperwork. That's correct. Yeah.
The other thing is really.
Speaker 6 (17:32):
Cool about it is the success rate that Silvanah was
telling me early, like everybody that they've placed, everybody still
in a home.
Speaker 1 (17:39):
Yeah, because they have to pay, they have to pick
up the rent. I mean, it's not going to go
on forever. But with a job, it it all works able.
Thank you, Joy, I know you go next week.
Speaker 2 (17:50):
Thanks very much.
Speaker 1 (17:53):
Yeah, you know, I'm trying to make fun of that.
Speaker 2 (17:56):
Somehow, you can't.
Speaker 4 (17:58):
I can't even you can't.
Speaker 1 (17:59):
It kills me and I can't completely derive something. It
just rips my heart. Shots that you you know, I
love the story.
Speaker 3 (18:06):
You help people out of situations, not lifestyle people can
get in a situation so quickly. Yeah, you're hearing his
story and to have that leg up is really.
Speaker 2 (18:17):
Really it's it's magic.
Speaker 1 (18:19):
Well, it's Bruno and you put it all together and
it's just it's simply extraordinary. All Right, we're gonna come
back and we're going to finish all of this up
on a Tuesday morning, Giving Tuesday, and then Garyan.
Speaker 8 (18:31):
Channon, we're coming aboard at nine o'clock.
Speaker 4 (18:33):
Hey Bill, how do people donate?
Speaker 3 (18:36):
How do they even say giving? He's a good guy.
What is that word giving?
Speaker 2 (18:40):
How do people donate?
Speaker 1 (18:41):
They can go to kfi A M six forty dot
com slash pastathon and of course all of your donation.
Speaker 8 (18:48):
Goes directly to Caterina's Club.
Speaker 1 (18:49):

it would be ninety percent overhead. You can go to
any Smart and Final store and donate at checkout Yamavah
Resort and Casine. You can donate at Wendy's by a
five dollars a coupon book and you get a lot.
We put five dollars donation, you get a lot more
than five dollars back, and.
Speaker 2 (19:09):
Then come here.
Speaker 8 (19:09):
You can come to the Anaheim.
Speaker 1 (19:11):
White House where We're gonna be broadcasting all day every
show here right up until eight o'clock tonight, and take
donations and have well until the bagels run out.
Speaker 8 (19:22):
I'm taking the rest of them home. Yeah, I'm getting
the thumbs up.
Speaker 2 (19:26):
Damn right.
Speaker 1 (19:26):
If you think I'm gonna leave bagels for Gary and
Shannon's crowd, You're crazy, all right. One of our partners
are pastathon partners.
Speaker 2 (19:36):
Is Wendy's.
Speaker 1 (19:38):
Yes, and Wendy's has been with us for a couple
of years and they're wonderful in terms of helping us
raise money. So Michelle just came by and they had
come by with a plate of their chicken fingers, which are,
by the way, the contender chicken ten is actually actually
a cut Yeah. Yeah, it's not a finger because you've
ever eating the chicken fingers I'm talking about, yes, chicken
(20:03):
tender right lower part of the breast, and it is
literally and I know my chicken tenders, believe me. I'm
a big fan and I'm an expert on this stuff.
Speaker 2 (20:11):
He knows nothing about breast. I that's well, I'm not
gonna go there. It is.
Speaker 1 (20:17):
It's the best chicken tender you're ever going to taste
the breading the tank.
Speaker 2 (20:20):
They're excellent.
Speaker 1 (20:21):
They're just superb, so thank you, and we got of
course ours for free. You're gonna have to pay for yours,
but still worth it, especially you don't pay for it, Okay,
we are nail.
Speaker 2 (20:34):
Stop that well.
Speaker 3 (20:35):
I do want to, you know, remind people that there
are different ways, including Wendy's. If you go to any

Speaker 1 (21:25):

Speaker 1 (21:34):
They're going to give you the total so far, which
is we're going at a pretty good clip last year
one point three million dollars you folks help us raise,
and we're ahead at this point at this time, so
we're pacing ahead of that.
Speaker 2 (21:49):
And well, well the rest of it's going to be
back tomorrow.
Speaker 1 (21:53):
Oh, don't forget the auction items that we have for
sale and what we have forbidding, and it's going to
be the best one.
Speaker 2 (22:01):
With us, Neil. Yes, And this is where these are bids.
Speaker 1 (22:05):
These are auction items, and all the hosts are doing
something and what we are don't you've.
Speaker 2 (22:11):

for a very private event twenty people only, family and
friends and the highest bigger bidder So never opened up
our house house before, old.

probably give you a cavity search. And I want to
point something out. Dana with our security is wonderful.

Speaker 1 (22:44):
Is suffering from Parkinson's, so when he attempts to shoot someone,
it's just a.
Speaker 2 (22:49):
Kind of goal, just sort of just duck. You'll be fine.
That's it, guys. We are done. Tomorrow. We're all back
into studio. Oh, don't forget. Zelman's is here giving out
free samples. Yes, take them up on this.
