Speaker 1 (00:00):
It's KFI Am sixty and you're listening to the Conway
Show on demand on the iHeartRadio app. We had a
great night last night at the White House. A lot
of people there, raised a lot of money, over a
(00:20):
million dollars. And we are going to be talking to
Ruby here, who benefited from Katerina's Club Postanton donations, and
we're going to find out Ruby's story.
Speaker 2 (00:32):
So, Ruby, you're on KFI. How are you?
Speaker 3 (00:36):
We're getting it right this second.
Speaker 2 (00:38):
That's a great introduction it was.
Speaker 3 (00:40):
Did you try doing it again?
Speaker 2 (00:42):
You nailed it?
Speaker 4 (00:43):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (00:44):
I think I nailed the first time. All right, let's
talk to Ruby here on KFI. Ruby, how are you?
Speaker 5 (00:51):
Hi?
Speaker 4 (00:51):
I'm doing fine in yourself.
Speaker 1 (00:53):
We're doing great. So when did you when did you
run into the chef Bruno for the first time?
Speaker 4 (01:01):
For the first time. I actually met him during their
winter event that they did recently had.
Speaker 1 (01:07):
Oh good, Okay, were you aware of what he what
he does for all these kids?
Speaker 4 (01:14):
Yes, I was aware, and I've never had the opportunity
to actually meet him till this event recently.
Speaker 1 (01:21):
Okay, that's great. And how has he helped you out?
Not only has he by the way, how big is
your family.
Speaker 2 (01:25):
Do you have kids?
Speaker 4 (01:27):
Yes, my family. It's me, my husband and my four boys.
Speaker 2 (01:31):
Oh four boys. What are the age range are the boys?
Speaker 4 (01:35):
I have a twelve year old, a six year old,
a five year old, and a two year old.
Speaker 1 (01:40):
Oh good for you. Oh that's great. What are their
names if you can remember em?
Speaker 4 (01:46):
I know right, so many. The oldest one is Elmer, Leland, Titus,
and Stephan.
Speaker 2 (01:53):
Oh Stephan, we got it. Stephan here, that's a great name.
Speaker 4 (01:57):
That's so awesome.
Speaker 2 (01:58):
That's great. So where where are you guys living? And
where are you now?
Speaker 4 (02:03):
We used to live in the city of Los Angeles,
and that was two years ago, and now we live
here in Anaheim, and we lived like the happiest we
have ever been.
Speaker 2 (02:14):
Oh, that is so great to hear. That is awesome
to hear.
Speaker 1 (02:17):
Maybe you can put those four boys on each other's
shoulders and change the battery in that smoke detector. Pile
those kids up, what the hell? And so you have
a bigger place now? Where were you living? How big
was your place before?
Speaker 4 (02:34):
It was actually pretty small. We were living at my
grandma's house. Oh no, and it was just a small room.
It was just a small room at that time. Of course,
my kids were smaller and I had recently had a baby,
so it was a very difficult situation. So when they
called me and offered this place that I'm in now,
(02:55):
we kind of were just struggling to find the help
and we came across Cass Katerina's clubs and when they
said that they were able to help us, it was
like something like the biggest it's been the biggest change
of our life.
Speaker 1 (03:11):
Wow, that is so great. And so you were all
six of you were in one room at your grandmother's house. Yes,
oh my god, that's been really tight and probably led
to some really tough.
Speaker 4 (03:24):
Nights too, very very much.
Speaker 2 (03:27):
And then how big is your new place?
Speaker 4 (03:30):
We live in a two floor town home, three rooms,
and it is. They all have their space, from the
biggest one to the you know, the middle children, and
even my husband and I we have our own space.
Oh my god, we love it here.
Speaker 2 (03:45):
That's so great.
Speaker 1 (03:46):
I bet you've seen an improvement in their attitude and
their school work and their whole life.
Speaker 4 (03:51):
Oh yes, most definitely. I've seen it. From my oldest one,
he was this the area we were living in before
was this gang related shootings all the time, and now
he comes. I wouldn't even allow him to go outside
for the same reason, and now he's like, Mom, I'm
glad we live over here. I have friends that can't
go on and we don't have to worry about anything.
I loved it.
Speaker 2 (04:12):
Awesome. That is so great, Ruby, that's such a great story.
Speaker 1 (04:16):
I'm glad that you hooked up with you know, with
Bruno and this this could and it sounds like it
changed the dynamic of your entire family forever.
Speaker 4 (04:26):
Yes, it has very much, and I'm so grateful.
Speaker 1 (04:29):
Oh, that is so great. How far from the White
House do you live.
Speaker 4 (04:35):
It's about five minutes.
Speaker 2 (04:37):
Oh, okay, so you probably see Bruno often.
Speaker 4 (04:42):
Something sometimes when we go past.
Speaker 1 (04:45):
Yeah, that is so great. I'm glad you're gonna And
when did you move into your new place?
Speaker 2 (04:49):
What recently?
Speaker 4 (04:52):
Two years ago? Two years ago?
Speaker 2 (04:54):
Okay?
Speaker 1 (04:55):
And so you have Thanksgiving there and Christmas and you
got the tree and it's a whole new life. That's
so great and I'm so I'm so happy for you
and your whole family. And I'm sure that you know
your your kids are happier and it's just a really
cool vibe or what do they want to do for
Are they athletes? Are they Are they into sports? So
(05:15):
they they like to?
Speaker 2 (05:16):
Uh, I don't know.
Speaker 1 (05:18):
Are they into science or math or English or what?
Are they into?
Speaker 4 (05:25):
My oldest one and my six year old they're into soccer,
so they play soccer in school, and I have them
soccer outside of School's great. Yes. And then my other
smaller too. They don't have a toddler, so he doesn't
really know what he likes to. And then my five
year old, he says he wants to play basketball.
Speaker 2 (05:44):
Oh, that's awesome. That is great. And what does your
husband's name Delano Delano?
Speaker 1 (05:50):
Oh, that's awesome name as well. What do you What
do you and Delano do for a living?
Speaker 2 (05:54):
What does he do?
Speaker 4 (05:57):
He does donatorial work, okay? And then and I am
an instructional assistant, so I work as basically a PA
with the teachers in schools.
Speaker 1 (06:06):
Oh nice. Well, I couldn't be happier for you. That
is really cool. And I hope you have a merry
Christmas and the best of luck to you.
Speaker 2 (06:14):
And your family.
Speaker 1 (06:15):
And I'm really happy this worked out for you, and
I hope you guys have the best and greatest life.
And please check in with us. We'd love to hear,
you know, the success stories.
Speaker 2 (06:24):
Over the years.
Speaker 4 (06:26):
Yes, thank you so much.
Speaker 2 (06:27):
Okay, thank you, Ruby, God bless you.
Speaker 4 (06:30):
Thank you LifeWise for me, thank you all right.
Speaker 2 (06:32):
What a story this guy is, the chef Bruno.
Speaker 1 (06:36):
You know, not only running a restaurant, which is eighteen
hours a day. When you run a restaurant, from what
I understand, you think about it every second of every day,
every day. And then on top of that, he takes
on feeding these kids up to twenty five thousand meals
a week. And then on top of that, he's putting
(06:59):
families and taking them from Grandma's house where all six
of them, four kids and two parents were sleeping in
one room. And now they have a two story townhouse
that they live in and the kids are happy, and
the kids are prosperous, and the kids are going to
become part of society in a great way. That's a
(07:19):
great story. That's a great story, and it makes me
thrilled that we do this with Bruno every year when
we hear stories like that, we got to hear more
stories like that, and more people will get involved. But ma'am,
we raised over a million dollars last night a million dollars,
and we have to think. There's a photo journalist Jose
(07:43):
Hernandez who came down from KTLA very beautiful, ma'am, coming
down and putting out that story about Steph Fuch and
howe almost got killed in a car accident. And Sandra
Mitchell introduced the story and then we all sort of
photographer there. I think his name was Michael, was it?
Speaker 6 (08:00):
Yeah, with the Vital Excess Photography so on Instagram at
Vital Excess Photography.
Speaker 1 (08:08):
Yes, and we'll come back. We'll play the ktlaps. That'd
be a lot of fun. Yeah, yeah, play the audio
all right. We're live on kf I AM six forty Ruby.
Congratulations to you and your family.
Speaker 7 (08:21):
You're listening to Tim Conway Junior on demand from KFI
AM six forty.
Speaker 1 (08:27):
Let's flip on channel four real quick and see what's
going on here in Lakewood. There's a major boulevard close
because of a deputy involved crash after a pursuit. Let's
flip the audio up here and see what wee can
nine you pot it up in there.
Speaker 8 (08:42):
At the termination here in liquid, that's the latest frum
Liquid in your shopper for.
Speaker 2 (08:47):
Here's my timing.
Speaker 5 (08:48):
We'll be right back after the brink.
Speaker 2 (08:50):
It's crazy, how good you are.
Speaker 1 (08:51):
I'm the best. Nobody's better at me than getting the lockouts.
The king of all lockouts, that's what we get. So
we'll find out what happened. Belly O will grab that.
But a pursuit in Lakewood ended with a traffic accident
that involved I believe La County Sheriff. So we'll keep
(09:12):
our fingers crossed and get the audio as soon as
we can on that. Here's something that I thought is
puzzling in Hawaii. There's only one gas refinery in Hawaii.
It's located in Ali Beach on the island of O
(09:34):
Wahoo and it's operated by par Hawaii. The refinery has
a capacity of ninety four thousand barrels of crude oil
per day and it's located on O Wahoo and they
have one refinery. So once they refine the oil at
(09:55):
the refinery in O Wahoo, they've got to send it
out to all the other islands by ship. I don't
think there's pipelines under the ocean out there. Maybe there is,
but it's probably sent out by ship to o Wahu, Maui.
The big island of Hawaii, and then it's brought to
local gas stations and then people buy it and they
(10:17):
put it in their car, and that's how it works.
And a buddy of mine is over there right now
and they're paying three dollars and seventy nine cents a gallon.
I paid four dollars and eighty cents a dollar more
yesterday after the White House. So they're paying a dollar
(10:37):
less a gallon. All the oil has to be shipped
over to Hawaii, it has to be refined in o
Wahu and then put back on a ship and send
it to all the other islands. And they're paying a
dollar less a gallon. How the f did that happen?
How did that happen? But it has happened, so it's
(11:03):
it's unbelievable, unbelievable. The amount of money we have to
pay in services that everybody else around the country is
getting for much less is really annoying and there's no
real answer for it. It's all taxes and fees and
bs and it's breaking all of us. All Right, here's
(11:24):
the end of the pursuit in Lakewood. Let's find out
what happened here in Lakewood. Moments ago.
Speaker 8 (11:29):
This pursuit happened at about five forty five a County
Sheriff's apartment in a Lakewood. Deputies were in pursuit of
a stolen car and the pursuit only lasted a few
minutes before I ended here in a crash on South
Street near Bellflower. Now we are getting worried at that
at least one deputy was involved in a collision at
the termination of this pursuit. But at this point the
(11:50):
other county sheriff's department is telling us that they are
they are unaware of any injuries as a result of
that collision. Now I'm going to move the shot over
to the west down South Street. I want to show
you a vehicle that overturned as a result of this collision.
At this point, it is unknown that was the vehicle
that was in the pursuit or perhaps another driver. But
(12:10):
we're still trying to get a little more information here
from the EAI County Sheriff's Department as the investigate this
pursuit crash at the termination here in lakewuiod. That's the
latest from Liquid in News Chopper four. I'm Alliam Marino.
Speaker 1 (12:22):
I so Lakewood at Sold Street, the six oh five,
and you know where sald Street that's not actually near
the six o five maybe it is, but major accident there,
so that area is going to be busy for quite
some time.
Speaker 2 (12:37):
The Fouch Steph fuche back in business.
Speaker 1 (12:40):
He was there last night and KTLA and Sandra Mitchell
they covered it as law as well as Jose Hernandez.
So thank you very much for doing that. Let's find
out how that sounded last night on KTL.
Speaker 5 (12:53):
It's been four months.
Speaker 9 (12:54):
Susi Love, member of the KFI radio family, was severely
injured in a horrific car accident, and tonight he's making
a comeback. Thirty seven year old stefan Ca Bezas affectionately
nicknamed the Fush, got a chance to meet the heroes
who saved his life.
Speaker 8 (13:10):
Sandra much alive in the KHLA a news center with
Fousch's return and tonight's emotional reunion center.
Speaker 6 (13:18):
Well and the Cairn says Stephan the foosh fo.
Speaker 10 (13:24):
Yeah, Mike and Cher, how do you thank someone for
saving your life? Well, tonight it was hugs, a lot
of encouraging words and an audience of KFI fans not
to witness it all last week.
Speaker 1 (13:36):
Could have died on the freeways of Los Angeles.
Speaker 10 (13:39):
Four months after they found him flipped upside down under
his burning car on the one oh five Freeway. An
emotional embrace with the men who saved his life.
Speaker 5 (13:49):
It was the moment where I hugged.
Speaker 10 (13:51):
My save here KFI technical director Stefan the fusch cub Basis.
Speaker 2 (13:56):
Fine think he was talking about me at that point.
Speaker 5 (13:58):
It was the moment where I hug my savior.
Speaker 2 (14:01):
Ah, thank you man, Very nice of you to say that.
Speaker 10 (14:03):
Kaf I Technical Director Stefan the fush cup Basis. Finally
out of the hospital and for the first time meeting
the two men who pulled him to save you.
Speaker 1 (14:13):
To actually be able to wrap my arms around the
person who saved my life was something that you can't compare.
Speaker 10 (14:19):
Back in August, the thirty seven year old, a popular
part of the Tim Conway Junior radio show, was in
a tragic accident, his left arm pinned under.
Speaker 2 (14:28):
The fiery repular part Let's find out.
Speaker 10 (14:32):
Back in August, the thirty seven year old, a popular
part of the Tim Conway Junior.
Speaker 2 (14:36):
A popular part, okay.
Speaker 10 (14:37):
Popular part of the Tim con also questionable. Popular part
of the Tim Conway junior radio show was in a
tragic accident, his left arm pinned under the fiery rap.
Two men jumped out of their own cars and into action.
Speaker 4 (14:52):
I knew he needed.
Speaker 11 (14:52):
Help, and I knew it was the right thing to
do to get out and help him.
Speaker 2 (14:56):
In this time of me, we need more guys like that,
more guys like that.
Speaker 1 (15:00):
You've got to wonder how much this happens outside of
the notoriety or the media attention that it got about
your right staff in the show.
Speaker 2 (15:10):
How much do people do that you would hope more.
Speaker 1 (15:13):
I think you just don't hear about it, right, I
think it's a lot, and then those people never get recognized.
Speaker 2 (15:19):
I think you're right. I think you're absolutely right.
Speaker 10 (15:21):
Tonight, in Anaheim, at a KFI fundraiser for Katerina's Club,
a charity that feeds children in need, rescuers ken Yatte
Hubbard and Paul Ruffino were a surprise guest.
Speaker 11 (15:33):
I said it bro I said, I don't think he's
going to survive this, and if he does, he's definitely
not gonna be able to say that arm to lose
his arm.
Speaker 5 (15:44):
So I was just worried about it.
Speaker 2 (15:46):
That was Paul, that was Paul Rafino. That guy's great too.
Speaker 10 (15:49):
Raffino says he wasn't sure that the Foush would survive,
and for all these days after the accident, he thought
about the man under the burning car with me and.
Speaker 11 (16:00):
So this point, and that's why I'm so emotional. You know,
I'm just glad he's doing well and I looks great.
Speaker 1 (16:09):
And they saved that man's life. Those two guys, along
with two other people, saved that man's life.
Speaker 3 (16:18):
Jonathan Garray, he would have been dead.
Speaker 2 (16:21):
If it wasn't for these guys.
Speaker 6 (16:23):
Absolutely or lost his arm because they tied the tourniquet
and held his arm up, which saved it.
Speaker 1 (16:31):
Right, and they didn't pour water on it, which also
would have risked his arm as well.
Speaker 6 (16:35):
Kenyati's wife, I believe, is a nurse and was kind
of directing them all as what to do with the arm.
So so so fortunate, unbelievable.
Speaker 10 (16:44):
Nine surgeries later, Foush is recovering his left arm, still bandage,
but he's smiling and he's grateful for the two men
who on a busy LA freeway risk their own lives
to save his or.
Speaker 11 (16:57):
Worlds in all different directs. Then we got to just
help each other and.
Speaker 5 (17:05):
Well here for each other.
Speaker 10 (17:07):
Also, tonight radio host Tim Conway Junior gave KTLA a
special shout out because back in August we were the
first to track down the rescuers and put them in
touch with KFI. We are so happy to see the
fush is much better and with those two heroes tonight
live in the news center.
Speaker 2 (17:23):
I'm Sandra Mitchell.
Speaker 3 (17:24):
That's just so great and great piece they did.
Speaker 1 (17:27):
And we would have never found those people if it
wasn't for KTLA. That's so true, not even close. So
thank you to everybody KTLA. Beautiful, beautiful job.
Speaker 7 (17:36):
You're listening to Tim Conway Junior on demand from KFI
AM six forty.
Speaker 2 (17:42):
It is The Conway Show.
Speaker 1 (17:44):
Every single weekend, I do a weekend show with a
with a really great guy who knows a lot about
gold and silver and precious metals.
Speaker 2 (17:52):
His name is Rich Jacoby.
Speaker 1 (17:54):
And since we've been doing the show, gold has gone
through the roof. It closed today at four two hundred
and thirty five dollars and eighty cents an ounce, and
Rich Jacoby joins us, Rich.
Speaker 5 (18:07):
How you bob?
Speaker 12 (18:09):
Great Tim, how you doing Buddy?
Speaker 1 (18:11):
You told everybody eight weeks ago we started doing the
show that gold was going to go through the roof,
and you are exactly right. You deserve to tell these
people I told you so.
Speaker 12 (18:22):
Yeah, so gold went through the roof, and so did silver.
Silver closed it fifty eight seventy one, which is eighty
percent up this year.
Speaker 2 (18:30):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (18:31):
Now, for people that want to get involved with gold
and silver, it's very simple to do. And you're offering
a special for KFI listeners, is that correct?
Speaker 2 (18:44):
Yeah?
Speaker 12 (18:44):
So for KFI listeners, I'm offering actually I'm upping the
offer to fifteen percent free silver on any purchase.
Speaker 2 (18:51):
Wow.
Speaker 12 (18:52):
And that's only for tonight.
Speaker 1 (18:53):
Okay, just tonight. And I'm going to give out the
number here in a second. And so here's the deal.
If they buy gold mintage premium gold mintage coins, they're
gonna get matching fifteen percent in free silver. That's correct, Okay,
that is a great offer, up to I guess two
(19:14):
hundred and fifty thousand dollars. I think you have to
sort of cap that or else say, you know, somebody
could wipe you out.
Speaker 2 (19:19):
Yeah, okay, so call.
Speaker 1 (19:22):
This number right now and talk to Rich and get
yourself free silver. He's never done this before. Fifteen percent
in free silver. That is an unbelievable deal. Eight three
three three six two three eight four three eight three
three three six two three eight four three. It's only
(19:42):
good for today. It all comes to an end tonight
at midnight. Eight three three three six two three eight
four three Rich on one of the shows that we
did over the past weekend. I think it was two
or three weeks ago, you said that gold might they
might reset the value of it. Can you tell the
audio what that means for the average owner of gold.
Speaker 12 (20:05):
So with resetting the price of gold, you know it
could according to Morgan standing of Goldman Sacks, it could
actually hit six thousand dollars in the first quarter of
next year, which it's like, like Ted said, it's over
four thousand dollars announce right now, and they're saying silver
could actually almost double to one hundred dollars announce in
(20:26):
the first quarter of next year. So these are actually
not my predictions. These are actually coming from Goldman Sacks
and Morgan Stanley, right.
Speaker 1 (20:32):
And when we started working together eight weeks ago, gold
was below I think it was like thirty eight or
thirty nine hundred dollars announce and now it closed today
at four two hundred and thirty four.
Speaker 2 (20:44):
That's a huge increase.
Speaker 12 (20:48):
It's a huge increase. People are already calling to add
on to their orders that they've already placed a couple
months ago, that they were at thirty eight hundred or
thirty nine hundred, and especially with silver or silver because
of the semiconductors and electric cars, solar panels, everything else,
it's highly in demand. So it's kind of been treated
(21:10):
as a step child, but as a percentage, it's up
eighty percent. You've got to get into silver.
Speaker 1 (21:16):
Yeah, it's easier to get into silver as well. But
here's a stat that I know, rich, you know, but
the audience may not year to date. So one year
ago today gold was one thousand, five hundred and sixty
four dollars less expensive. In one year, your investment went
up fifty eight and a half percent.
Speaker 2 (21:38):
That's incredible, that's correct.
Speaker 12 (21:41):
All right, here's it beats the stock market.
Speaker 1 (21:44):
Ye, one hundred percent. All right, call Golden Crest Metals
right now. Fifteen percent in free silver. When you buy
premium mintage gold coins. You've got to call before midnight though,
and then this deal ends at midnight. Tonight eight three
three three six two three eight four three. Get the
(22:05):
fifteen percent in free silver eight three three three six
two three eight four three. Now, Rich, the economy not
doing so great, But for people that own gold or
about to buy gold or silver, it's just the exact opposite.
Gold and silver is something that takes off during a
bad economy or a questionable economy.
Speaker 5 (22:28):
It does.
Speaker 12 (22:29):
It actually has an inverse reaction to the stock market.
So as the stock market goes down and inflation goes up,
the gold and silver go up. So as you can see,
a lot of people are talking about physical assets, not
the et apps, but physical assets are actually going up
as we're as we're talking about it.
Speaker 1 (22:47):
And when you retire, the old rule of thumb was
I think five or ten percent in precious metals, but
the new rule of thumb for retiring is considerably more.
Speaker 2 (22:56):
Isn't that correct?
Speaker 12 (22:58):
Yeah, it's absolute.
Speaker 5 (23:00):
I know.
Speaker 12 (23:00):
That's actually percent of the Brookern jobs. So they're both.
Speaker 2 (23:07):
We're losing it.
Speaker 1 (23:07):
We're losing it here, so I'll take over. We're sorry,
we had a bad connection here. I've may have been
on our end. Call Rich Jacoby right now and get
yourself the fifteen percent in matching free silver. You have
to call before midnight tonight. I know you're sitting around
not thinking about buying gold and silver. Now you are
with fifteen percent matching eight three three three six two
(23:29):
three eight four three eight three three three six two
three eight four three or go to the website Goldencrest
Metals dot com Goldencrest Metals dot com.
Speaker 2 (23:39):
It's Conway Show.
Speaker 7 (23:40):
You're listening to Tim Conway Junior on demand from KFI
Am six forty.
Speaker 1 (23:48):
Miguel Rojas, who hit that home run in the bottom
of on the top of the ninth inning in Toronto
to save the Dodgers season, has just signed a one
year deal with the Dods, I think for five and
a half million dollars. So you're gonna have an opportunity
at least eighty one eighty two home games eighty one
(24:09):
eighty one home games to go out to Dodgers Stadium
to somehow figure out if you can get close enough
to Miguel Rojas and say thank you, thank you, thank you.
That man hit a home run that saved the Dodgers' season,
saved the season. Also with Will Smith had a hand
in that and a couple other guys Yamamoto as well.
(24:32):
But man, that Miguel Rojas home run was unbelievable. We
played the audio a little while ago in the four
o'clock hour, but if you want to hear it again,
all right, I'll play it again. Miguel Rojas hitting a
home run, bases empty, top of the ninth, one out.
Speaker 2 (24:53):
Three to two pitch.
Speaker 1 (24:55):
Let's see what happens here, and what a crisp sound
it was when that ball hit that back.
Speaker 5 (25:04):
Pay All drill did I field? Indeed? Good way, go rollo.
(25:25):
Dave Redderds played his gun. The guy hadn't had a.
Speaker 1 (25:29):
Head in a month, hadn't had a hit in a month,
and he had a home run to tie the game.
Will Smith won it in the eleventh inning for the Dodgers.
Speaker 5 (25:40):
Got the guy hadn't had a head in a month.
They of Game seven, he said, a tie in home run.
Speaker 2 (25:51):
Wow, what a night for these Dodgers. I got to
hear it again.
Speaker 12 (25:55):
So hey, off.
Speaker 1 (25:58):
Field, it can't stop listening and I can't stop watching
this game.
Speaker 5 (26:04):
Pay Off thrilled dollar PhMe.
Speaker 1 (26:13):
Like, great comment, No way a hell that that happened.
We got news here. The guy that created ring doorbell.
I think a lot of people listening right now you
have your ring doorbell or ring cameras. And he's written
a book. What do you think the title of the
guy who invented the ring camera? What's the title of
(26:35):
his book? Let's find out.
Speaker 13 (26:37):
Jamie Simonov started ring in twenty eleven, working out of
his backyard garage. He was frustrated that his doorbell didn't
ring his new iPhone.
Speaker 5 (26:46):
I looked online for a WiFi doorbell.
Speaker 13 (26:48):
They didn't exist.
Speaker 5 (26:49):
So what do you do when you're in a garage?
You build one? If I built the doorbot and put it.
Speaker 13 (26:53):
On my front door, and my wife said it made
her feel safer at home. Now, fourteen years later, in
a one billion dollar sale to Amazon, simonof Off is
detailing rings rise to success in a new book called
ding Dong.
Speaker 2 (27:06):
Mine Simonov is.
Speaker 13 (27:08):
Detailing rings rise to success in a new book called
ding Dong.
Speaker 4 (27:13):
Hmm.
Speaker 2 (27:15):
Interesting.
Speaker 3 (27:16):
You know you had him on the show.
Speaker 1 (27:19):
Yeah, I know, we haven't a couple of times. Yeah, yeah,
And now he's writing a book called ding Dong.
Speaker 5 (27:26):
Called ding Dong.
Speaker 13 (27:28):
It's not like a one two three book of here's advice.
It's it's like you're learning by seeing the experiences that
we went through. Ring now has more than one hundred
million cameras worldwide and a massive headquarters where they're building
the next generation of products.
Speaker 2 (27:43):
It really is a great product. Do you have it
at home, belly?
Speaker 1 (27:45):
Do you have Ring?
Speaker 5 (27:46):
Yep?
Speaker 1 (27:46):
Yeah, I got it too, man. That's a sweet product.
It just keeps getting better and better. The newer ones
are have facial recognition, so if somebody, like, let's say,
you know your husband, like in your case, Bellio, John
comes home, the RING camera won't go on because it
will recognize Yeah, it'll recognize that it's John's face or
your brilliant But if it's a stranger, cameras go on
(28:09):
records and you get to you know, turn that over
to the cops if they do anything.
Speaker 3 (28:14):
And they also helped find lost pets.
Speaker 1 (28:16):
Yes, that's right. What was that story you were telling me?
We'll cover that tomorrow. We have time.
Speaker 2 (28:20):
Today, a dog got loose and in the ocean.
Speaker 3 (28:23):
Was San Diego.
Speaker 6 (28:25):
A dog got caught up in the rip current and
was taken out, you know, I think it was ocean
beach and the lifeguards are looking for him, and for
about an hour they had been looking for him, and
they're about to call.
Speaker 3 (28:38):
It off, and they spotted Sadie, a.
Speaker 6 (28:40):
Five year old lab mix I believe, paddling for her
life and we're able to rescue her.
Speaker 2 (28:46):
Wow, that's a great dog story.
Speaker 3 (28:50):
Poor baby.
Speaker 1 (28:50):
Yeah, all right, Chris Merrill is coming up next. He'll
be live right here with the whole crew and Ronner
as well. Ronne, we missed you last night, Buddy.
Speaker 2 (28:58):
I wish i'd been there. Sound like he had a
lot of fun. Yeah, and some really really good meals too.
How are you feeling? I feel great. Little coffee.
Speaker 1 (29:05):
