Speaker 1 (00:00):
You're listening to Tim Conway Junior on demand from KFI
AM six FORTYFI.
Speaker 2 (00:09):
AM six forty. It is The Conway Show. It's October thirteenth,
twenty twenty five. I just to sum up quickly, the
weight of the water that landed on California between twenty
twenty two and twenty twenty three. That winter October twenty
twenty two to March twenty twenty three, the weight of
(00:30):
the water that landed on California, including the snowpack, is
six hundred and fifty trillion pounds. Well, you're probably asking yourself, Tim,
what is that in aircraft carriers, because those are heavy. Okay,
if you had an aircraft carrier like a you know,
like the USS Gerald Ford, one of these big, huge
(00:51):
ass nuclear aircraft carriers, the water that landed on California
in that winter twenty two to twenty three is the
equivalent of three million, two hundred and fifty thousand aircraft carriers.
Three million, two hundred and fifty thousand aircraft carriers. That's
incredible because each aircraft carries two hundred million pounds and
(01:14):
there's six hundred and fifty trillion pounds of water that
fell on California. There you go, here's the math for you.
All Right, we got rain coming in. Oh. By the way,
I'm prize Picks. It's good to be right. That's the
tag forgot it.
Speaker 3 (01:33):
Sorry.
Speaker 2 (01:35):
I like that Prize Picks. I enjoy that. Man, it
does does add to the fun of watching these games.
All right, let's talk about the flood, the weather, the
possible flood, the possible rain or are not possible but
almost certain they're talking about. This is a really you know,
you know, a storm that's gonna be big, but it's
(01:56):
gonna be short. It's not gonna be here for four
or five days. It might just be a day and
then it's gone gone. So let's find out what's going
on with this weather. I know, Santa Clarita, we have felly.
Speaker 4 (02:11):
Oh.
Speaker 2 (02:11):
I don't know if you know this. You probably do,
you're pretty sharp, but you know that that we have
thousands and thousands of listeners in Santa Clarita. Yeah, we're
huge in Santa Clarica. Huge love Santa Claria. Yes, I
if I tried to move out there with my wife
when we had our daughter, and my wife convinced me
that she wanted to be closer to my dad and
(02:32):
my stepmother and our family. And she's probably right, you know,
she's probably right. But if I do it all over again,
Santa Clarita, you say that a lot, I do say
that a lot. I also like Claremont as well. I'd
move out to the Inland Empire or Santa Clarita. I
enjoy those tours. Not Irvine. Oh, Irvine's too far and
there's too many you know, dog owners that are right
(02:55):
pooping on the street. Is that right? Yeah, we clean
up the poop. And Irvine seem like everybody Nervine's got
like nine dogs. Yeah, it's a lot, a lot of
dogs in Irvine. Don't you notice that? You know what
it's best you stay out of Irvine. Okay, I appreciate it,
thank you, and you got it. I do like Irvine.
I like the name. I like that it's a modern
(03:18):
community with modern streets, modern signs, modern people. I like
the modern in but not the dog owners too much
dog as for me, you know, I'd like to limit that.
All right, Let's find out where this rain is coming
and how wet you're going to go.
Speaker 5 (03:35):
The storm really arrives overnight tonight, and as we go
throughout the morning hours, so the peak intensity is really
for that morning commute.
Speaker 2 (03:42):
But I want to show you, Okay, morning commute, you
got to be aware of this when you're listening to
Bill Handle or before that, Amy King. You've got to
be aware that it's going to have an effect on
your morning commute. You may have to leave earlier.
Speaker 5 (03:54):
But I want to show you why the warnings, the advisories,
and the watches are up. Satellite and radar as showing
you there our storm, the center of it's still off
to our north, out across northern in central California. We've
got rain pressing into San Francisco and points to the south.
So as has sweeps on through, first, you're going to
notice the wind, and then here comes that rain later
on tonight. So we've got winds gusting up to thirty
(04:15):
eight miles per hour.
Speaker 2 (04:16):
Oh no, thirty eight miles.
Speaker 5 (04:18):
An hour, dusting close to thirty in Lancaster. We're already
there in Santa Clarita and gusting up to twenty nine miles.
Speaker 2 (04:25):
You know, if I want to make a billion dollars,
I would open up a lip bomb store in the
Antelope Valley. It seems like every day we are doing
whenever we do weather, we're talking about wind in the
Antelope Valley, Lancaster, Palmdale, Victorville to the east. I bet
(04:45):
ninety five percent of the people who live in the
Antelope Valley have a lip bomb in their car, in
their car with these dry ass chappy lips they got
out there. I think that's what Chipot lives. I think
that's a Lancaster means. We ask chappie lips per.
Speaker 5 (05:02):
Hour there in Anaheim. So future cast showing you as
we go throughout the overnight hours and as we get
into the very early hours of the day tomorrow, five
o'clock in the morning, you can see that moisture coming in,
spreading into our region from a west east direction.
Speaker 2 (05:15):
So first finder get away from which direction?
Speaker 5 (05:18):
Spreading into our region from a west east direction?
Speaker 2 (05:20):
So from the west east direction? Okay, from west to east. Okay,
from a.
Speaker 5 (05:24):
West east direction. So first FINDERA County, then La County.
Then eventually as we get into the late morning hours,
it travels out across areas in Orange County and the
Inland Empire.
Speaker 2 (05:33):
Okay, did you hear that Orange County? You're going to
get it later. We're going to get it at five
You're gonna get it around nine or ten am.
Speaker 5 (05:40):
It travels out across areas in Orange County and the
Inland Empire.
Speaker 2 (05:43):
Inland Empire late start nine am ten am.
Speaker 5 (05:46):
In terms of the peak intensity, so here's the rain
timeline for you, when and where the rain will spread
from west east across our region. The peak time is
from five am until we find some showers five am
until new find some showers. Well before then, absolutely, but
the peak intensity that we're tracking is within that window.
In terms of the amounts, anywhere from three quarters of
(06:08):
an inch to an inch and a half of rain.
Speaker 2 (06:09):
Giye, two inches in Santa Clarita two inches, Palmdale inch
and three quarters.
Speaker 5 (06:16):
The foothills and the mountains you can find an inch
and a half to three plus inches. Here's the issue,
the impacts. We've got flooding concerns.
Speaker 2 (06:23):
Wait where where is there gonna be three inches? Would
they say they're.
Speaker 5 (06:25):
The foothills and the mountain engine.
Speaker 2 (06:27):
All right, foothills and mountains.
Speaker 5 (06:29):
Find an inch and a half to three plus inches.
Speaker 2 (06:31):
Three plus inches in the foothills. Oh boy, these burn scars, man,
Oh boy, here's the issue.
Speaker 5 (06:38):
The impacts we've got flooding concerns for our burn Scar areas,
severe thunderstorms, possible down trees because of those gusty winds.
Will give yourself some extra time tomorrow.
Speaker 2 (06:47):
Okay, all right, So it's going to be rough, a
rough morning, especially if you're in the burn Scar area.
Let's take a stroll out to Mallible. Mallible and the
area of concern out and Mallible and.
Speaker 6 (07:02):
We're just off of Malibu Canyon Road. This area, of
course was one of them affected by the Palisades fire.
Speaker 2 (07:08):
That's you know, they're worried about Dukes getting flooded again,
the rain coming down that street and then dukes with
the floods. I hope they've done something. The hope they
put some.
Speaker 6 (07:17):
K rails up there affected by the Palisades fire. Just
over my shoulder, you can see one of the homes
that burned in the Palisades fire, and then of course
the land around it that was impacted. Now, these canyons
that were looking at of particular concern. With heavy rain,
which is what we are expecting, this could cause debris
flow and mudslides, which is why an evacuation warning is
(07:40):
in effect for the areas impacted by the Palisades Fire
and the Franklin fire that burned in twenty twenty four.
Now here's a map of the areas.
Speaker 2 (07:48):
You know, she's standing on PCH where the speed limit
is I think is still twenty five miles an hour,
and it sounds like she's in Indianapolis at the Indy
five hundred. Yeah, you gotta that speed. The sheriff's will
pull you over or highway patrol will pull you over.
And because the speed limit is twenty five, if you're
going fifty, you're going to get a major, major ticket,
(08:09):
and your insurance will probably go up. Mark Thompson discovered that.
Mark Thompson, I don't think I'm telling tales out of school.
I think he talked about it on the air. He
got a ticket, I think going I don't know, eighty
five or ninety on the freeway and he decided to
just pay it instead of fight it or go to
you know, traffic school. And he figured that that ticket
(08:31):
will probably end up costing him over the next five
ten years twenty five thousand dollars in additional fees and
premiums on his insurance. So if you do get a ticket,
try to go to you know, traffic school or fight it,
but don't let it go on your record. Your insurance
company will see that immediately and your rates will probably
(08:52):
go up. Insurance companies are doing everything they can to
raise our insurance. They're going broke because of the fires
and the floods and the damage, and so don't so
be careful. Go twenty five on pch Okay, you can
be home ten minutes later, but you're gonna be home,
and you're not going to kill any kids. You're not gonna,
you know, run over an animal. Twenty five and enjoy it.
(09:14):
You know, now you can see the ocean most of
the way, unfortunately because of the fires. But that's a
whole new drive for you. You know before when before
the fires, it was just like driving down a street
in West Hollywood. Now you can see the ocean almost
all the way up from Santa Monica all the way
to Malibu. So go twenty five, stay alive and enjoy it.
(09:35):
Enjoy the view by.
Speaker 6 (09:36):
The Palisades fire and the Franklin fire that burned in
twenty twenty four. Now here's a map of the areas
that we're talking about. Some of these affected areas that
we could see several inches of rain beginning overnight, and
there is a possibility of a flash flooded.
Speaker 2 (09:52):
Again, listen to the background. She's standing on PCH where
the speed limit is twenty five. There's nobody going past
are less than sixty five, and there is.
Speaker 6 (10:02):
A possibility of a flash flooding and also debris flow
near these burn scars. The police department, we're told, is
going door to door to each high risk property with
additional information, and local fire departments are also beefing up
staffing ahead of the expected range.
Speaker 2 (10:19):
All right, fire departments getting ready, cops are getting ready.
It's going to be wild out there on PCA now.
Speaker 7 (10:24):
In preparation, your Los Angeles City Fire Department, we will
increase staffing beginning at six pm tonight. Additional specialized resources
have been strategically pre positioned across the city, including fire engines,
swift water rescue teams, urban search and rescue personnel, heavy equipment,
(10:45):
air resources, in hand crews.
Speaker 6 (10:48):
From February, not long after the Palisades fire, where officials
put up miles of k rail and sandbags ahead of
a storm. Much of that is still in place, but again,
as you heard more storm preps.
Speaker 2 (11:02):
Are also if you're homeless and you listen to the radio,
we appreciate that. But you got to get out of
the La River. It's going to probably increase by you know,
seven eight nine feet, and it's going to wipe out
your tent and your you know whatever you got going
in the But the swift water Rescue has got to
be renamed. I don't know the homeless pluckers, because that's
(11:26):
who gets caught in that. You know, a guy who
has an apartment on Kester and Sherman Way is not
going to be at the bottom of the La River
or on the shores the great beautiful sandy shores of
the La River. The book La they always make it
(11:46):
sound so romantic. I live near the La River. Wow,
what is that? Like a lot of debris, homeless bicycles,
old refrigerators. Is that enough? Is that enough? Old beds,
tire par car parks.
Speaker 8 (12:00):
You know, I'd like to sit on my beach chair
by the La River and dip my toes in the
filled up diapers of others.
Speaker 2 (12:07):
The last that's so great? All right, We're live on KFI.

they just got out of the bottom of the first
so one inning is over zero zero Dodgers Milwaukee in
the National League Championship Series. All right, breaking news. There's
a radical story going on in an area that usually
(13:25):
doesn't get radical stories in Torrents and Redondo Beach fairly
safe areas to live, beautiful areas near the ocean. I
love that area. I enjoy that, the beach, the beach
community out there, Manhattan Beach, for Moosa Beach, Redondo Beach. Oh,
it's beautiful out there. Marina del Rey very expensive to
(13:48):
live out there. And when you live in an expensive area,
one of the reasons you live there is to get
away from crazies, people that are going to stab and
shoot you and terrorize you and your family and your kids.
And that's really one of the principal reasons you pay
a lot for a house is to keep your family
(14:10):
away from as George Carlin used to call them, life's
most interesting guys. And I think you know what I mean.
Hopefully you can put that together, all right? Breaking news here.
Three stabbed at Torrance at a school, and then there's
a secondary location that's of interest to the cops. Let's
find out what's happening.
Speaker 9 (14:29):
A chaotic day on campus at Switzer Learning Center in Torres.
Police say a former student they're stabbed three staff members
around eight o'clock this morning and attempted to stab afourth
Vinable officers were arresting him. They say he told them
he planted bombs in the area. Now police say they
found two potentially dangerous devices, but they haven't yet specified.
Speaker 2 (14:49):
What the devices were.
Speaker 9 (14:50):
Here, all three school employees are expected to recover. Al
Ana Morano is live a news shop before above a
home in Redondo Beach believed to be connected to this
former student the bomb squad on CEA Right now, Atlanta,
what do you see this home?
Speaker 10 (15:02):
Michael is located on Rynche Lane and Ripley Avenue here
in Redondo Beach. And now, please can't give us too
much information about what they're looking for inside, but we
have seen a number of investigators going in and out
of this home, particularly that upper unit that you see
there with bags full of evidence. You can see that
these investigators are still on scene, but they appear to
(15:24):
be wrapping up for the day. But in the meantime,
this is going to be a street in Rynch Lane
all the way over to Spire Lane here in Redondo Beach.
That's the latest from US Chopper four. I'm Aliana Marino.
Speaker 2 (15:37):
Okay, well, it's busy. The cops are going to be
busy investigating that story for quite some time and we
have any more news on that, we will have that
for you immediately. So that's going on. We've got the
rain coming in and the helicopter, the crash in Huntington Beach,
and then the big story over the weekend. I'm sure
(15:59):
you saw it. You were up late last night, like
I was, all of the tears and the joy coming
out of Israel and Hamas and the you know, the
Gaza and that old area looks like that war for
now is over after what seven hundred and thirty eight days.
(16:20):
That's the number that everybody was wearing on their shirts,
seven three eight And a lot of these hostages are
coming home and they're going to see their family and
their friends, their coworkers, their relatives for the first time
in over two years, two years. It's an unbelievable story.
(16:42):
We came back. We'll play the audio for you and
it's really moving. It got belly O Bellio got very
emotional over the story. We're about to play. Yeah, we're
live on KFI AM six forty its Conway Show.
Speaker 1 (16:54):
You're listening to Tim Conway Junior on demand from KFI
AM six forty.
Speaker 2 (17:02):
I AM six forty. It's Conway show very emotional day
in Israel. After seven hundred and thirty eight days, the hostages,
the ones that are still alive, have been released, and
the unification with the families is unbelievable, unbelievable to watch.
(17:23):
But let's get some little background here and then we'll
play you the emotional reunion of the hostages with their
family members. And man, it's it's emotional. If you want
to take a look at it tonight on the news
or find it on YouTube to hear these grown men
and women screaming at the top of their lungs. How
(17:44):
thrilled they are to see their loved ones again. They
thought they'd never see them again and have them back home.
Oh man, what a day, What a day. Here's some
background on the day, and then we'll get to the
emotional reunions.
Speaker 4 (17:57):
You're seven and thirty eight days all of the remaining
Israeli hostages were released. President Donald Trump called this a
dawn of a new Middle East, as Israel also released
Palestinian prisoners as part of a US broker agreement. Emotional
reunions as the former hostages are reunited with their families
for the first time in more than two years.
Speaker 2 (18:18):
As part of the agreement.
Speaker 4 (18:20):
All hostages still alive in Gaza were released by Hamas early.
Speaker 2 (18:23):
This morning, So this is the time to celebrate.
Speaker 4 (18:26):
In Hostage Square, Israeli an American flag's wave above thousands
of people as President Trump receives a warm welcome from
Israel's parliament.
Speaker 11 (18:35):
Donald Trump is the greatest friend that the State of
Israel has ever had in the White House.
Speaker 3 (18:42):
This is the day that people across the region and
around the world have been working, striving, hoping, and praying.
Speaker 4 (18:50):
For The peace agreement was broken by President Trump and
he signed it this morning along with representatives from Cutter, Egypt,
and Turkey who acted as mediators. Got into applause when
the four leaders held up the sign documents.
Speaker 8 (19:04):
Today is.
Speaker 12 (19:06):
One of the greatest day in contemporary history because peace
has been achieved after undoubting efforts.
Speaker 4 (19:18):
As part of the agreement, nearly two thousand Palestinian prisoners
are being released. By some estimates, in two years, sixty
seven thousand Palestinians have been killed. Now, the more challenging
work of rebuilding Gaza begins, and for the.
Speaker 3 (19:32):
People of Gaza, the focus now must be on restoring
the basics of a good life We're gonna have a
lot of money coming into Gaza and a lot of
rebuilding and building. It's not so much rebuilding, is really building,
cleaning up and building.
Speaker 4 (19:47):
And the remains of other hostages are also expected to
be transferred. So far, four bodies out of twenty eight
held by Hamas wemoved. Hamas is expected to release the
remaining deceased hostages after proper identification. I'm Cardinalscron ABC seven
eyewitness news man.
Speaker 2 (20:03):
What an emotional reunion it was. I'm going to play
a half of this then we'll play the other half
on the other side of the break. But this is
unbelievable audio and video, and it really affected Bellio. She
got very emotional over this.
Speaker 13 (20:23):
There's jubilation as vans carry freed Israeli hostages back into
Israelis and the moment the massive crowds that packed Hostage
Square all night erupts in cheers.
Speaker 14 (20:35):
It's an incredible moment right now here at Hot Fix Square,
ever flipping to the guys because a military helicopter carrying
some of the hostages plunging into televis right now.
Speaker 2 (20:44):
All day, the emotion's pouring out.
Speaker 13 (20:46):
After seven hundred and thirty eight days many in underground
Hamas tunnels. Twenty Israelis are finally back home. Two years ago,
the world watched in horror at these images. Hamas terrorists
de Noah Argamani onto a motorcycle as her boyfriend is
also dragged away. Noah was rescued last year, and tonight
(21:15):
they are finally together again. Twenty five year old Aton
Moore was taken from the Nova Music Festival as well.
That's his father overcome during their reunion, and here's the
(21:42):
emotional moment Calfon reunites with his family.
Speaker 2 (21:51):
Was also abdupted from the music festival, his family only
learning a few months ago he was still alive.
Speaker 13 (21:58):
This is Aviohanna a hallway, preparing for the time many
thought would never come. His son Joseph, who helped others
escape the Hamas terror attacks but was then kidnapped himself. Tonight,
his powerful embrace with his dad, and watch as those
(22:26):
van doors open up to reveal Avi Tar David.
Speaker 2 (22:32):
Greeting a cheering crowd.
Speaker 13 (22:38):
Two months ago, Hamas terrorists released a video of Avi
Tar digging his own grave. But tonight he's back in
Israel and back with his family and we're also seeing
the first images of Omri Moran reunited with his wife
and daughters. I spoke to his brother in law yesterday.
What do you hope to tell him?
Speaker 15 (22:57):
I hope to tell him what an incredible wife he has,
what brave little daughters he has. The entire world knows
his name one way or another and wanted to see
him home.
Speaker 13 (23:08):
And that's Keith Siegel facetiming tonight with freed hostage Matan ungress.
I love you so much, Keith tells him, And no
one knows better what Matan is going through.
Speaker 16 (23:18):
We were held together for two and a half months,
locked up in a very small dark room, just the
two of us.
Speaker 13 (23:25):
Keith was held captive with Matan before he was released
last February. Does it stay with you?
Speaker 2 (23:30):
I mean, do you do you have nightmares?
Speaker 13 (23:32):
What is life like afterwards?
Speaker 16 (23:34):
Life has a lot of things afterwards. I try to
focus on the good my family. My family suffered for
four hundred and eighty four days, not knowing if I
was alive, not knowing what's happening with me.
Speaker 13 (23:48):
All of these reunions a result of President Trump's peace deal,
a remarkable diplomatic achievement. The hostages are back.
Speaker 3 (23:56):
It is a good feeling, isn't that nice to say?
Speaker 13 (23:59):
Speaking to the Israeli Parliament today, President Trump saying this
deal is just the beginning.
Speaker 17 (24:04):
Generations from now, this will be remembered as the moment
that everything began to change. It will be the golden
age of Israel and the golden age of the Middle East.
Speaker 13 (24:15):
As part of that agreement, nearly two thousand Palestinian prisoners,
some convicted of murder and terror offenses, but others detained
without charges during the war, were also released today, the
President appealing to Palestinians.
Speaker 17 (24:29):
This is their chance to turn forever from the path
of terror and violence.
Speaker 2 (24:33):
Now I think that's going to happen.
Speaker 13 (24:35):
Still, this is a bittersweet moment for many families here
in Israel tonight, just hoping to get their loved ones remains.
American Hirsch Goldberg Poland was one of the hostages murdered
by Hamas.
Speaker 18 (24:48):
We spoke to his parents. We've got some painful days
ahead as we uncover the fact that some number of
them may not even be found.
Speaker 14 (25:00):
And tonight, even though there is so much hope, there
is already some conflict Israel, says Hamas has not returned
as many hostage remains as the deal required. Meanwhile, President
Trump making stops not only in Israel, but also in Egypt,
as we showed you there.
Speaker 7 (25:15):
As his peace steel begins.
Speaker 14 (25:17):
Here's Peter Alexander.
Speaker 19 (25:19):
From the moment he landed in Israel, the words thank
you visible from Air Force one and billboard to your
expressing gratitude. President Trump basted in the praise of a
country that credits him more than its own prime minister
for today's long awaited reunions, the President's name echoing through
Israel's parliament as he touted his landmark diplomatic success.
Speaker 2 (25:40):
This is the end of the.
Speaker 17 (25:42):
Age of terror and death.
Speaker 3 (25:43):
This is the historic dawn of a new Middle East.
Speaker 19 (25:48):
Net Yahoo praising his American ally, Donald Trump.
Speaker 11 (25:52):
Is the greatest friend that the State of Visrael has
ever had.
Speaker 19 (25:56):
In the White House, going off script, the President called
on his is Raeley counterpart to pardon net and Yahoo,
who was indicted for allegedly accepting expensive gifts, which he denies.
Speaker 3 (26:07):
Cigarzan Champagne, who the hell cares about it?
Speaker 19 (26:12):
The President then heading to Egypt for a peace signing
ceremony with Arab nations and other world leaders who backed
the deal.
Speaker 12 (26:19):
Peace has been achieved after unduarding efforts, efforts led by
President Trump.
Speaker 19 (26:31):
NBC's Cure Simmons with the Italian Prime Minister.
Speaker 6 (26:34):
Do you believe that President Trump will manage to turn
this into an actual peace for the Middle East?
Speaker 11 (26:39):
I am absolutely absolutely optimistic on this.
Speaker 13 (26:43):
President Trump opened it, but we have to help.
Speaker 19 (26:46):
This help with so many potential challenges still ahead, like
disarming Hamas and rebuilding Gaza that the President largely glossed
over today while declaring the war is over.
Speaker 3 (26:57):
This is the three thousand years to get to this point.
Speaker 2 (27:00):
Can you believe it? And it's going to hold up
to It's going to hold up.
Speaker 14 (27:06):
And Peter listening to President Trump today, he's hoping this agreement.
Speaker 2 (27:09):
Is just a starting point.
Speaker 19 (27:11):
Tom, that's right. President Trump is looking to build on
the momentum from this deal to help reshape this region,
even looking to expand his Abraham Accords that normalize relations
between Israel and other Arab nations and suggesting a possible
peace deal with Iran that just a couple of months
ago Israel and the US were bombing. The President today
said this deal will hold up.
Speaker 2 (27:33):
Time will test that unbelievable day in Israel, in Gaza,
and hopefully this does lead to a long, long period
where people can rebuild their homes and start their lives
over again. But man, what an emotional day in that
entire area. It's Conways Show. We're live on KFIM six forty.
(27:54):
I am sixty. It's Conway Show, Dodgers and Brewers zero zero.
I believe it's in the second or third inning. Let's
see here bottle of the third inning zero zero in Milwaukee.
We'll keep you updated on that score. Big story here
locally is the weather. First, big rainstorm is coming in
(28:19):
and it's going to be radical in some areas. You're
gonna see, you know, up to two inches of rain
in an area that hasn't received much at all. So
if you're in Malibu, Pacific Palisades, the Eat and Fire area,
you gotta be careful. There could be flooding, and especially
(28:44):
in the evacuation. There's gonna be evacuation warnings in the
burn Scar area and there you can't screw around with them.
You know, these flash floods can pop up. And the
reason why we run the emergency broadcastings system here or
the Emergency broadcast alerts here is that they do save lives,
(29:06):
and flooding is probably imminent in these burn scar areas,
so we can't state we can't overstate it. You've got
to be careful tomorrow, starting early early in the morning,
late tonight and throughout twil About noon between five am
and noon is going to be the most rain that
(29:29):
we get, you know, the highest density and the most
drops per hour. I think they call it time, but
it's going to be a lot, a lot of rain
coming in short period of time. The ground is dry,
and there's going to be flooding.
Speaker 20 (29:45):
The National Weather Service advising residents to remain indoors and
be extra careful when driving. Meanwhile, the City of Pasadena
has installed k rails temporary concrete barriers to protect areas
most at risk. City and county leaders are urging peace
but in our or near the Burnsquare areas in Altadena
to shore up their property and be prepared to evacuate.
Speaker 21 (30:06):
So in recent burn areas, there is of course concern
of mud and debris flow, and if you have a
home that's at the bottom of a canyon, or if
you have a home that's in a vulnerable area, actually
those home owners have been advised already that they may
need to evacuate, so you can certainly go to ready
dot La County dot gov.
Speaker 2 (30:24):
For more information.
Speaker 20 (30:26):
Back during the summer cruise remove tons of material from
the Eaton Wash Dam to protect downstream communities ahead of
the storm season. You can also again visit Waterforla dot
com to learn more about the flood risk around your home.
County leaders also suggest mapping out alternative routes to avoid
driving in burn areas.
Speaker 2 (30:44):
Yeah, and we're going to get angel. Where is that
is it on the It's on the five Freeway. I
don't know if it's Sunlin or you know, it's off
near with it one seventy and the five meet. But
there's always flooding up in that area on the five Freeway.
Where is that typically? And it happens almost every time
it rains.
Speaker 22 (31:04):
Yeah, it always happens, like right at the one seventy
merge between just south of the one eighteen north of
about Sunland Boulevard, right in that stretch, and not only
on the freeways but also on the surface streets in
that area. There's this one road that goes underneath I
think it might be the five freeway and that always
(31:25):
collects a boatload of water.
Speaker 2 (31:27):
Yeah you got how Yeah, earn your money tomorrow, I
tell you that angel, every dime of that pench in tomorrow,
it's gonna be a lot of around now. They do
have this thing that we've used at our house. It's
called quick Dam Quick Dam. They sell it at home depot.
I didn't see it anywhere else. Maybe it's available other places.
(31:50):
But it's very light. It's only about a pound and
a half and it can stretch up to ten feet
and it's activated by water, and so the more water
it hits, the thicker it gets, and it absorbs water
and creates a dam. It's called quick Dam quick Dam,
(32:11):
and they usually sell out by whenever there's a threat
of rain storm. But if you can slide into home
depot and grab some it, they do work. Unbelievable. I mean,
they're the best thing that I've ever purchased when it
comes to you know, directing water or you know, keeping
your garage dry. So look forward. It's called quick dam.
(32:35):
I doubt you're going to find any tonight. Maybe you will,
you know, maybe they've overstocked in case like this, and
they're not that expensive. Either. I think you can buy
the smaller ones for I don't know, thirty or forty dollars,
and I think the ten footers are twenty five dollars
and the ones that are up to twelve feet I
(32:57):
think they're thirty six somewhere in that rain definitely order
on Amazon as well, Is that right?
Speaker 1 (33:02):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (33:03):
Okay, for sure? Right there you go, Happy birthday to
quick damn. It's their fourteenth birthday today, So quick damn
home depot, go check it out, belly O. I know
you love the rain. You're going to get a dose
of it tomorrow. And Irvine, I know, I hope you're
thrilled with that. And Crows you're going to get it too.
(33:23):
Montclair is going to get some sw I mean Clairemont.
Clairemont is going to get hit because they're expecting almost
two inches in Pomona. You're fairly close to Pomona, aren't
you a little bit? Can you hear Pomona Raceway from
your house? Pomona Raceway worthy the drag racing that they
do in Pomota. Oh, that's at the fair grounds, I
mean fairgrounds?
Speaker 8 (33:44):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, isn't that Pomoona that's yeah, that's that's
right on the edge of the northern edge. But you
can hear that that new where the metrolink now stops.
Speaker 2 (33:50):
Oh, that's right, that's right, but that's probably you know,
as the crow flies, maybe seven miles from you, not
even not even now, and you can hear it from
your house.
Speaker 8 (34:01):
Drag yes, yes, yeah, it's great on a Saturday Sunday.
Speaker 2 (34:06):
Yeah, nice casual Saturday. That's classic.
Speaker 8 (34:12):
Usually look over and Jena go pardon me.
Speaker 2 (34:15):

so keep it here on KFI. It's Conwy Show. We're
