Speaker 1 (00:00):
It's KFI AM six and you're listening to The Conway
Show on demand on the iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 2 (00:10):
Six.

Speaker 1 (00:11):
It is the Conway Show. And Krozier said it best.

Speaker 3 (00:15):
What a day?

Speaker 1 (00:17):
What a day? First of all, start off raining, and
it was raining all morning at our house, pouring, thunder, lightning, twisters, tornadoes.
I think there was a water spout in our backyard
or it was crazy. It was crazy, I tell you.
And so dealing with that, then the Jimmy Kimmel story,

(00:38):
that's everywhere and everyone's shouting about that, no matter what
side you're on. You got a huge opinion on that.
If you drive by Disney, there's about forty people outside
screaming about the Jimmy Kimmel firing slash suspension. Who knows
what it's gonna be. And then you've got two great

(00:58):
athletes who both made their announcement today that they're retiring
two and both of them, both of their last names
start with a K. What are the odds of that?
What are the odds of that?

Speaker 3 (01:15):
Six?

Speaker 1 (01:16):
Yeah, maybe or even I guess it happens. It just happened.
But Kershaw is retiring from the LA Dodgers and Copaitar
from the La Kings and Copaitar's announcement was around three
thirty today. We'll have audio from that and Kershaw's is
going to be live on KFI. Is that a five

(01:37):
thirty start? Dug believe? Yes, okay, five thirty start and
Krozier I was talking to Ritchie, one of our producers here,
that Bellio's out looking for a new hairdoo. But I
think that he should break down and cry or scream
or do something memorable, because that's how you get it
on all the stations you're talking about about Kershaw. Yeah,

(02:00):
but if he doesn't, then you know they'll that nobody
will play it. But if he's crying, you know, if
he's crying, it's hysterical screams, you know, maybe has a meltdown,
he passes out, the ambulance comes in. That's what gets
the attention. That's what you need to do when you retire.
You know, we know that you're probably not that emotional
over it, but you have to be. You have to be.

(02:20):
It shows the fans you love him, It shows the
team and the organization that you love it, and it
shows that that you're you know, wildly unsure about the
decision you made.

Speaker 4 (02:31):
He's a pretty emotional guy too, Yes he is. He
is impossibility.

Speaker 5 (02:35):
Now you're this, I imagine him having a melt down
or crying moment with the rain in the background.

Speaker 1 (02:39):
Automatic god.

Speaker 3 (02:41):
Yes.

Speaker 1 (02:42):
And then Steph who's driving by Dodger Stadium. I think
there's a funeral. But yeah, that's gonna happen at five
point thirty today. So we got a lot going on, man,
a lot going on. But that rain was wild. Did
you get out of yet your place?

Speaker 3 (02:56):
Cross?

Speaker 4 (02:56):
I didn't hear it one bit. I looked outside this
morning and there was looked like there was a little
bit of moisture on the concrete.

Speaker 1 (03:02):
Really nothing. Wow, that's odd. Yeah, yeah, I thought you
were getting around. You're talking about all the damage and
the water. Oh my god, fourteen trees down and all
kinds of stuff going on. But it was, Yeah, it
was pretty radical, and and you know, it wasn't It
wasn't really. You know, it's it's a it's a storm

(03:24):
that they just sort of popped up in the last
couple of days. You know this it was a hurricane
Mario and then became a tropical disturbance. Mario came up
from Mexico and then bang I hit us and and
so all some totals over that. It wasn't huge, but
it was a nice change too. And you'll also you'll
know that you've got to get new wipers on your car.

(03:47):
If you turn them on, it just sort of smudged
the water around. This is the time to get your
new wipers, you know, October September, October November, because if
you wait too long, well, bad vibes. Oh my god.
And then just there we go, got almighty. All right,
gotta have Channel five, Robin, let's pot up Channel five.

(04:09):
What a day this is?

Speaker 2 (04:11):
Now?

Speaker 1 (04:11):
We got a high speed pursuit on Channel five. The
it's on the I ten. It's on the one ten
northbound exit Los Angeles, San Diego. Okay, it's right near
I think the one ten in the four to five shoulder.
This guy's flying to continue southbound.

Speaker 5 (04:30):
We're reaching speeds at one point of at least one
hundred miles SUV.

Speaker 1 (04:36):
Is that a Volkswagon right now?

Speaker 5 (04:37):
This driver refusing to pull on Toyota.

Speaker 1 (04:42):
Where is this angel? You're the queen of traffic hour.

Speaker 6 (04:45):
That's right, it's on the northbound Carson coming up on
Carson Street.

Speaker 1 (04:52):
All right, So then Carson is that before the one ten,
I mean the one on the one oh five.

Speaker 7 (04:58):
Yeah, it is, are heading to towards the one o
five right now.

Speaker 1 (05:02):
It looks like the front left is maybe that's just
dust that he's picking up on off the tire, maybe
it's not smoked. But he's flying on the one tin northbound,
coming up on the one oh five.

Speaker 3 (05:13):
Yeah, he's not in the carpoo lane. That's the shoulder right, yeah, shoulder.

Speaker 1 (05:18):
He is doing a a no, no, you know, I'm
not supposed to do that.

Speaker 3 (05:24):
That is what like you're saying.

Speaker 4 (05:25):
It's what makes it tough to tell if that's dust
that's being kicked up from the shoulder or tire or something.

Speaker 1 (05:30):
It looks like it is dust from all the crap
and the debris, and they in those on their shoulders. Yeah,
and you know when they try to clean them around
three point thirty on Friday.

Speaker 6 (05:40):
Yeah, buzzy, they may not even need to like pit
him or anything, because if he runs over a big
old two by four loaded with nails, yeah, he don't
do it to himself.

Speaker 1 (05:53):
He is done. So he's northbound on the one ten,
coming up on the one oh five. If you're on
that freeway line that looks wide opening, Joe, if you
don't mind me observing for four twelve in the afternoon,
north and southbound open.

Speaker 6 (06:06):
Yeah, he's about to come into some pretty heavy traffic.

Speaker 1 (06:09):
Does he know that?

Speaker 7 (06:10):
Yeah, he knows it's coming up.

Speaker 1 (06:14):
All right, let's sun a crank up Channel five here.
It gets more information on this cat.

Speaker 5 (06:18):
Weave in and out of traffic. So there there, there's
the first two units at least, so they're there, they're
they're close proximity to them coming up.

Speaker 3 (06:25):
But the airship overhead.

Speaker 1 (06:27):
Is calling him ninety miles an hour.

Speaker 5 (06:29):
You pursue package at this point. Now he's right down
the center of the freeway. We'll see if he's thinking
about getting off here in the.

Speaker 1 (06:36):
Wait, he's got to be going southbound. Then he's not
going northbound.

Speaker 6 (06:40):
Yes, Oh, the banner was saying northbound initially.

Speaker 1 (06:44):
Yeah, oh they did. Okay, right, the shadow shadows on
his left hand side, So he's got to be going southbound.
So he's southbound on the one ten, not northbound. And
that's even more amazing that the southbound traffic is that
wide open.

Speaker 6 (06:56):
Yeah, it is wide open all the way into sam WHOA, all.

Speaker 1 (07:02):
Right, get on down there and help with those containers.
Put that crap back on that ship. Yeah, let's let's
get that crap out of here. So southbound. We were wrong,
we were fooled. But the shadows don't lie.

Speaker 3 (07:17):
Keep switching up because he just went one ten north again.

Speaker 1 (07:20):
Oh they did. Okay, all right, it's one ten southbound.
And you can tell this time of day, you know,
anything after about three thirty or four where the shadow is.
Shadows don't lie. And if the shadows on his left
hand side, that means the sun is to his west
and he's going south. If it was the sun was
in front of him or the shadow was in front

(07:40):
of him, and then he would be going east. It's tough.

Speaker 3 (07:45):
Those speed gags are so tough to sort of.

Speaker 1 (07:47):
Yeah, they're not right.

Speaker 3 (07:48):
In an hour, they're not right.

Speaker 1 (07:51):
I mean they had a police they had a foot
bail the other day and they said the guy was
running twenty three miles an hour. Oh, he's picked the
wrong profession. This guy get up to Oregon and try
out for the team.

Speaker 6 (08:06):
So he's going to come into some heavy traffic as
he comes up on Channel Street and then beyond to Gaffy.

Speaker 1 (08:11):
All right, So he's not crossed the four or five
yet or has he?

Speaker 2 (08:15):
Oh?

Speaker 7 (08:15):
He has.

Speaker 6 (08:16):
He's almost at the end of the windway heading into
sam Pedro.

Speaker 1 (08:18):
Oh okay, he's coming.

Speaker 6 (08:20):
Up on the Terminal Island exit right now. That takes
you over to the h I wish.

Speaker 4 (08:25):
We were with Tetrose getting off at the moment.

Speaker 1 (08:29):
I bet he is. Is that the Vincent Thomas Bridge
he's getting on. Is that what he's doing?

Speaker 6 (08:32):
Yes, yeah, Timmy, see if he's listening.

Speaker 1 (08:37):
Yeah, you know what I hate to do then during
but he's so active, you know. But and also we
can't really see his his lights. That that good. It's
sort of a nighttime thing where you can put on
his hazards. I couldn't even see where if he had
his hazards on right there. But I'm sure. Look, if
you're running from the cops, you would have to listen
to the KFI because you know we're on it. We're

(08:59):
in the car with you, and we're you know, you've
become a fugitive and we're sort of setting shotgun with you.
And now it looks like is he going to go back?
So he's going eastbound?

Speaker 6 (09:10):
Right now onto the bridge. He's heading over to the
Vincent Thomas Bridge, is he.

Speaker 1 (09:15):
Oh boy, he's gonna go against traffic.

Speaker 7 (09:20):
You know where he is, Timmy, he's by the bag
of bond.

Speaker 1 (09:23):
Oh that's great. Okay, he's going against traffic, against traffic.
This is going to end pretty quickly. Oh my god.

Speaker 8 (09:31):
Look at this.

Speaker 3 (09:34):
And that guy was trying to go to the mouth.

Speaker 1 (09:36):
That's a radical chase. He's going against traffic, traffic, and
he's got back into the right way. Okay, now he's
back again. Oh okay, that's right where I think all
the cruises dock, or at least the ones that go
to Sam Pedro and you jump on the ship there. Yeah,
all right, a lot of construction there by the way.
That construction started nineteen sixty seven in that area, really, yeah,

(09:59):
sixty seven sixty eight, and they're just wrapping it up
the next ten years. Don't do it, Lyle. He's he's
now going let me see the shadows. Now he's going northbound.
This is Front Street and let's sit out based local
baseball fields there at Sam Steve an hour yeah, from

(10:22):
from nine.

Speaker 6 (10:23):
Yeah, he's heading over to Pacific Avenue and that way
he can either hop onto the one ten again or
head into Sam Pedro.

Speaker 1 (10:32):
Okay, he's going northbound.

Speaker 2 (10:34):
Now.

Speaker 1 (10:34):
Wherever he's going his shadows on the right hand side.
That's that car.

Speaker 3 (10:38):
Definitely one of the more reckless drivers we've seen in
a minute.

Speaker 1 (10:40):
Oh, you're right, Angel, That is where the vagabon is.
Right there. It would be like the next block if
you went straight here, that's where the old vagabon is. Sure,
all right, we've got to take a small break. Unfortunately,
we've got a lot going on. Oh my god, we've
got the Jimmy Kimmel's story, an update on Charlie Kirk
the Service this weekend, kerk Shaw retiring. Those were all

(11:06):
reactions to Kershaw retiring and then also Copatar retiring from
the Kings. So we got a lot going on. He
did clip his back bumpers, yeah on that last one. Yeah,
you're right on that last one.

Speaker 3 (11:18):
He's back on the one ten north.

Speaker 1 (11:20):
Yeah, that's right, Eh, Cruiser nailed it one ten northbound.
He'll be coming up on the four h five. But
he's damaged damage goods, the back, the rear fender, the
rear bumper is probably about thirty thirty five hundred dollars
worth of damage. And I know that because I've been
through it the last couple of years experience. Oh yeah,

(11:43):
oh yeah, I can get you within about eight dollars
of what that's going to cout ver. All right, we're
live on KFI. Go there you are. The bumper's gone
and two hundred ninety eight fifty just fell off that car.
All right, we're live on KFI. Get this chase on
channel five, Channel five. Watch this chase with us.

Speaker 8 (12:04):
You're listening to Tim Conway Junior on demand from KFI
AM six forty.

Speaker 1 (12:10):
We're watching the high speed chase on channel five, Channel seven,
channel four. But first, a big Dodger announcement will keep
you up on the chase. If it ends, we'll break in.
But first, David Vast says with us, the say, hey kid,
how you Bob?

Speaker 2 (12:25):
I'm doing great. I'm in the storage room on the
visiting side clubhouse at Dodger Stadium. I popped in here, wow,
because I was waiting for future Hall of Famer Justin
Berlander in the clubhouse. But I said, hey, future Hall
of Famer, you gotta wait. I gotta talk to Conway
Junior about another future Hall of Famer making it official

(12:45):
that twenty twenty five will be his final season. And
that is, of course Clayton Kershaw.

Speaker 1 (12:50):
I just heard him. He was on with Petro some
Money last week and he was talking about, you know,
when you're pitching eighty seven, eighty eight, eighty nine miles
an hour, man, a lot of those pitches have to
really be perfect on the corners, and he is. He doesn't.
He just you know, he's he's a family man. He's
got kids, he's got other things to do, He's got
a lot of money. But I bet he's going to
be emotional tonight at five thirty when he leaves the game.

Speaker 2 (13:14):
Yeah, he's going to have a press conference tonight at
five point thirty, and tomorrow is going to be his
final regular season start at Dodger Stadium, and that will
be emotionally charged here at Dodger Stadium. And the way
players on his team found out was Freddie Freeman said
about a month ago, Kershaw let him know face to face.

(13:37):
Max Munsey, who's the third baseman and is the second
longest active teammate Kershaw has played with, said around the
same timing, and then this morning, when Kershaw knew they
were going to make this public. He sent out a
group text to the entire team to give them a
heads up that Hey, it's coming out. It's official, and
I just wanted to let you know before it was

(13:59):
public at one o'clock this afternoon.

Speaker 1 (14:01):
Okay, so this might be his last game, I you know,
with the Dodgers regularly season, but he's sure to pitch
in the postseason if they make it.

Speaker 2 (14:11):
Yes, but maybe not as a starting pitcher too. The
Dodgers have guys that are in their prime that are
dominant right now, while Kershaw obviously is in his final season,
still effective, but certainly not one of the top four
starting pitchers on the team at this point in time.
So there's a very good chance that Kershaw plays a
role coming out of the bullpen as a relief pitcher

(14:34):
in the postseason.

Speaker 1 (14:35):
Wait a minute, but they the bullpen's on fire. I
don't want to screw it up by adding another That's.

Speaker 2 (14:40):
Why he's out there to cool it down. They're going
to need him and another young starting pitcher, Emmit Shehan,
to come out of the bullpen and pitch and release
because a lot of their relievers have not pitched the
way they thought they would.

Speaker 1 (14:57):
I watched the game last night like I do every night,
and I don't remember the last time I saw a
reliever leave the bullpen, turn around, and go back to
the bullpen.

Speaker 2 (15:08):
Yeah, that doesn't happen too often, but that was a
situation where a two time cy Young Award winner in
Blake Snell, had his signature moment to this date as
a Dodger, going as the manager leave me in the game,
and he delivered. He struck out the final batter and
finished with seven scoreless innings. But yeah, Vessia was probably

(15:32):
in short left field coming out of the bullpen gate
and had to go back in and get ready for
the next inning.

Speaker 1 (15:38):
And he finished him off with a high heater and
went to the dugout. I thought that was and the
crowd loved the fact that he told Roberts no, no, no, no,
I'm not coming out. I'm staying in this game.

Speaker 2 (15:49):
Without a doubt. Last night, Blake Snell, who the Dodger
signed to a very lucrative contract for five years one
eighty five, had his shining moment as a Dodger and
certainly won over Dodger fans last night, and I believed
him more importantly went over his teammates in the dugout.
The dugout was fired up and could be a spark

(16:10):
the Dodgers have been looking for lately.

Speaker 1 (16:12):
It could be the turning point of the season.

Speaker 2 (16:16):
Uh sure, Yeah, who knows. When we look back, we
could say, yeah, that was the moment.

Speaker 1 (16:21):
And now Kershaw's big speech night of five point thirty
is I bet his wife will be there and all
the kids as well, I imagine.

Speaker 2 (16:30):
Yeah, that's been kind of the tipping off of him
possibly pitching his final year. We've seen his family come
to certain games, obviously home games, but they've been with
him at every road city that he's pitched in, including Pittsburgh.
Tim nobody wants to go to Pittsburgh, not do so.
For his family to show up in Pittsburgh and be

(16:53):
front row behind the Dodger dugout when he was pitching
kind of tipped all of this off that, yeah, this
might be it for h.

Speaker 1 (17:00):
So Kershaw is a eighteenth or nineteenth.

Speaker 2 (17:02):
Year, eighteenth season, three cy youngs, WOW, two World Series championships,
and an MVP as a pitcher that doesn't happen.

Speaker 1 (17:12):
Yeah, that's fantastic. First ballot Hall of famer, A lock.

Speaker 2 (17:18):
A lock Tim. Six years from now, he will be
making his induction speech at Cooperstown at Baseball's Hall of Fame.
And you never know a guy that pitched all eighteen
seasons for the Dodgers at Dodgers Stadium, maybe a statue
one day as well, easily will be retired.

Speaker 1 (17:35):
Easily a statue. There's nobody that did over last eighteen
years on the Dodgers. Nobody has done more for charity
than that man. Yeah, that's a.

Speaker 2 (17:43):
Great point, Tim. It's not only what he did on
the mound, but what he meant to his teammates, what
he stood for as a person, as an example in
the city. Definitely a big deal.

Speaker 1 (17:54):
And I'll bet you anything. And I don't know if
the Dodgers you know like you do, but I'll bet
you any thing. When Freeman was going through, you know,
his depressing days with his son who is not well,
I'll bet you he relied and Kershaw I talked him
through a lot of those depressing nights. I'll bet you,
I bet you a million dollars that happened.

Speaker 2 (18:15):
Okay, I'll ask Freddy about that, no doubt, no doubt.
I mean your teammates are your support system. They're around
each other more than their own families. So I wouldn't
doubt that for a second.

Speaker 1 (18:25):
I know, you gotta get out of here. You got
to get to the press conference. I really appreciate you
coming on, Bob, but I really appreciate man.

Speaker 2 (18:31):
Hey, thank you. It's a big day, big Dan Dodger
history for sure. You know. Unfortunately tomorrow, Tim, the game
is going to be broadcast and streamed on Apple TV,
not local broadcast on television, which means you have to
tune into AM five seventy LA Sports and the iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 1 (18:48):
That's right, That's exactly right. I'll be listening. Thanks man.
All right, there he goes David vasse La Dodgers Kershaw
retiring tonight. You'll hear the press conference at five point thirty.
My guess is he's going to be emotional over it
and we will carry it live at around five thirty.
You must be back here for that. I don't know

(19:10):
what you got going on between now and five thirty.
Maybe you're running away from the cops in South Los Angeles. Well,
if everybody else who's not running away from the cops,
And by the way, This chase is now on Main
Street and in West Rancho, Domingus, which is right near Compton.
So all right, we'll come back with his chase. We
got the chase, We got kersh are retiring, Jimmy Kimmel news,

(19:32):
an update on Charlie Kirk's service and Copatar retiring from
the Kings. It is a huge news day and you
got to keep it on kfive.

Speaker 8 (19:42):
You're listening to Tim Conway Junior on demand from KFI
AM six forty.

Speaker 1 (19:47):
Michael Monks joins us as he says, the King of
Saturday Night seven to nine pm. I like how you're
embracing your ratings. Look, I appreciate you being my hype man.
Thank you, buddy. I'm much more humble about I'm just
glad to be here. You know I wouldn't be. You
should celebrate your ratings because if you don't, nobody will.

Speaker 9 (20:09):
Yeah, they're huge, huge, biggest ratings, bigger than Kimmel.

Speaker 1 (20:12):
You have the number one talk show in Los Angeles
seven to nine pm on Saturday.

Speaker 9 (20:17):
Yeah, I'm beating all of those infomercials about stem cells.

Speaker 1 (20:19):
Whatever you're beating. You're beating book when you go to
Rich Carlton. They don't ask you how you made the
money for the hotel room. You just have the money.
You can't control your competition. That's true. That's true.

Speaker 9 (20:33):
I'm happy to destroy the infomercial world. And I'll tell
you this about hotels. And I don't know if this
has worked for Krozer and his adventures as well. But
I went to Carmel back in June and popped into
a hotel that had a restaurant we were going to
eat at, and he found the guy. The concierge found
out I worked at KFI and I got a lot
of money off my bill.

Speaker 1 (20:52):
Really, wow, that's pretty cool. Yeah, the signal travels far.
That's special. Well, restaurant you want to apply? I would,
and I've forgotten's that memory? Okay. I bet the guy's thrilled.
Who gave you the discount? God damn, he was selling vacations.
Gave this guy free mimosas and now he doesn't know
where he went. All right, we're going to get to
I believe what are we talking about the convention? I'm

(21:14):
sorry to keep bringing it up.

Speaker 9 (21:15):
If it's a big deal and there's new developments because
today La Mayor Bass has come out in favor of
the city moving forward on this project. There's a big
vote tomorrow. We've been talking about this for a while
because this is huge. Even if you're kind of rolling
your eyes in your car right now, I think who
cares about the La Convention Center?

Speaker 1 (21:31):
You should?

Speaker 9 (21:31):
You should because it's two point seven billion dollars and
it could cost the City of Los Angeles somewhere between
one hundred and two hundred million dollars every year. They
already don't have that kind of money. They're trimming services,
potentially cutting staff, and their financial woes are not projected
to get any better. And then you add this on
top of it. You could have a serious problem. But

(21:52):
the mayor put out a statement today that together, we
must work to make a bold step toward realizing Los
Angeles future. There's a thriving city with good paying jobs,
a vibrant downtown, and a world renowned destination.

Speaker 1 (22:07):
Okay, so what does that mean they're back on the
hook for the money.

Speaker 9 (22:09):
Well, here's the deal. Tomorrow, the city Council will take
up two options. One, let's move forward on the whole shebang.
Let's see if we can spend the two point seven
billion do the first phase, get it spruced up in
time for the Olympics. There's events there, taekwondo, judo, table tennis,
and let's get it finished. The other option from the
less I, let's say more skeptical folks on the council

(22:31):
are saying, why do we not do this and instead
run the vacuum cleaner, steam the curtains, spray the glass
down a little bit.

Speaker 1 (22:39):
It always seemed every time I've been to the convention center,
and I go down there maybe once or twice a year,
it always seemed very nice, and the people that work
there seemed to be and seem to know what they're doing.

Speaker 9 (22:48):
Yeah, everybody's fine, But what you hear from the convention crew,
especially from the downtown civic and business groups, is we're
losing out on conventions. LA is losing out, you know,
to Oklahoma City, smaller cities, because they have better convention
services and the environment around the convention centers are nicer
for people who are attending conventions. If we make this investment,

(23:11):
there will be thousands of construction jobs right off the bat,
and then there will be lasting jobs generated by this investment.

Speaker 1 (23:18):
And you know what, and we deserve a world class
convention center. Every single big city has one. New York
has one. That big glass building where Hillary Clinton was
going to have her big reception and you know, a
big party after she became president of twenty sixteen. If
that's the Javin Center, it's the same architect. Did you know?

Speaker 9 (23:38):
I didn't today, and I also designed Madison Square Garden. Okay,
well that's great the original building anyway. But I wanted
to play a little piece of audio because if I
were to ask you, who do you think should know
whether this is going to happen on time and on budget?

Speaker 1 (23:55):
Who do you think should know? The mayor?

Speaker 9 (23:57):
The mayor and perhaps the city council. This is a
city councilman, Katie R. Slavsky, speaking at the budget committee
this week.

Speaker 1 (24:03):
Perfect, But the truth.

Speaker 10 (24:05):
Is that we don't actually know. We don't know because
as a city, we haven't built up a real estate
development practice in house that can advise us on whether
or not this is a good deal and that's capable
of being finished by March of twenty eight or it's not.
We just don't know.

Speaker 1 (24:20):
I don't know.

Speaker 10 (24:23):
I'm a climate lawyer, right so we and a climate
lawyer Zabo isn't going to get up here. In contrast, you,
miss so is not going to get up here and
contribut He's not going to get up here and contradict you.
No one wants to offend. And so we have no
idea whether or not this thing is actually going to
be built, or if it's going to be six months later,
two years late.

Speaker 1 (24:44):
We just don't, okay, And we would like to live
in a world thank about it. If you played me
that audio and you said you got to guess whether
that whether that's a city council member, a sitting city
council member, or a homeless woman in there who wants
to speak, I wouldn't able to tell.

Speaker 9 (25:00):
Well, she is the chair of the budget Committee and
the daughter in law of zeb Yuoslavsky, a name that
many people around here know for all of his years
of service on the council and the Board of Supervisors.

Speaker 1 (25:10):
And she doesn't know, right, she doesn't know.

Speaker 9 (25:12):
And here's the and I know we got to run
then who knows the issue is this? The city has
spent fifty four million dollars on this project already for
what to know, oh my god, whether it can be
done in time?

Speaker 1 (25:25):
And they don't know. They don't know.

Speaker 9 (25:27):
She basically said, look, the city administrator's coming up here,
the building department is coming up here. They're telling us
what we want to hear because they don't want to
tell us we can't do it.

Speaker 1 (25:36):
Will do me a favor when you finally do lose
all hope in downtown LA, will you come in here
and throw the towel on the show, A literal towel.

Speaker 3 (25:44):
Yeah.

Speaker 9 (25:45):
Yeah, I'll throw it as soon as I find the
right towel that I'll hang up in my swanky new
pad in Burbank.

Speaker 1 (25:49):
Okay, all right, Michael Monks, Saturday seven to nine pm.
We're still following this Chase lapd in pursuit of a
murder suspect, and it looks like they're right now on
West Florence and South Broadway near downtown Los Angeles. Oh no,
I'm sorry, seventy first and Broadway, so that's not near
downtown LA, more south of LA. All right. We're live

(26:11):
on KFI. Kershaw's retiring at five thirty. We're rolling that
live and we have updates on kim O. We got
an update on Charlie Kirk at the service and also
Coopatar retiring from the Kings and the chase going on.
It's an impossible day to turn away from KFI, so
don't do it. It's impossible day. You need this information,
we got it for you.

Speaker 8 (26:31):
You're listening to Tim Conway Junior on demand from KFI
AM six forty.

Speaker 1 (26:36):
It is on and off the freeways. It's in South
Los Angeles, near downtown LA. It continues. They're on surface
streets right now. Looks like Avalon and seventieth in downtown LA.

Speaker 4 (26:51):
It's always funny when when you get with you're seeing
people on the sidewalks that know this is happening, that
are waiting for the car to get right, which tells
you okay, so there are some people that are still
watching local TV or.

Speaker 3 (27:04):
Listening to us. Oh yeah yeah, And.

Speaker 1 (27:06):
It gets around. I think, you know, people text each other,
like I never get as many texts as I do
when there's a chase. I probably got thirty texts, you know,
from people saying, hey, chase on four, chase on five.
And if we're looking at if you're looking at channel two, five,
four or seven right now. The reason why the shot
is horrible is because all these helicopters are probably eight

(27:28):
to ten miles away from this chase because they can't
cross the flight path of Lax.

Speaker 3 (27:33):
Plus they got the marine layer because of this weather.

Speaker 1 (27:35):
Yes, that's right, so it's not it's not great coverage.
There should be one helicopter that always sits on the
south side of Lax and they can go to that,
and I think they do try to guess where it's
going to be, and they try to be on the
right side of Lax, but they can't. They would have
to fly way above Lax and all the way around it,

(27:56):
which is time consuming. And then if the chase goes
back under the flight path and they got to go
all the way around again, and it wastes a lot
of fuel. And these guys would rather be up there
for three or four hours than waste, you know, an
hour's worth of fuel trying to speed over to the
right area. So we're watching it on channel two, I
believe No. Two's not on channel four, five, seven are

(28:19):
all on it, and we're watching this guy who's a
murder suspect, and Krozier's right. People are lining up on
the streets like it's a it's an instant parade. This
guy's a Superstar, what's going on? Angel?

Speaker 6 (28:31):
I thought that some of those many mini bikes were
gonna join him, because for a little bit there was one,
you know, there's a little mini moy one was out
in front of him, and I was waiting for that
whole gang to show up and ride around with him.

Speaker 3 (28:45):
I was talking about her during her traffic break.

Speaker 4 (28:47):
How the guy he was getting off the freeway and
he had a big rig right in front of him
that was kind of swaying like he was trying.

Speaker 3 (28:53):
To have And you gotta wonder if the police.

Speaker 4 (28:56):
Were on their bullhorn saying don't do that, don't do that.

Speaker 1 (29:01):
Yeah, maybe the guy's name was loud, but I think
they get down on you if you try to help
him out.

Speaker 3 (29:07):
You know, it's like, we don't need help, but he
ain't going anywhere. We're not getting away from.

Speaker 1 (29:12):
One of the few agencies that gets rather pissed if
you try to help him out. You know, if there
was like a you know, if there's a fire and
you brought an extra hose to the party, they'd probably
thank you for that. But the cops, man, they're they're
their own breed. They want to handle it themselves. They
don't need your help. They don't want to put you
in harm's way. Yeah, and they'll they'll they'll handle it, man.

(29:34):
And right now they looks like they're on East eighty
fourth and Avalon in downtown LA and.

Speaker 7 (29:42):
From Mount Avalon.

Speaker 1 (29:43):
Yeah, and from the shadows, it looks like they're going
southbound again. And these helicopters are all caught on the
north side of lax And that's why they're doing highlights.
Channel four is doing highlights from the chase, earlier highlights
and that's why you that's anyway, we'll continue to follow it.
Five point thirty Kershaw is retiring. It'll be a live

(30:05):
news conference from Dodger Stadium. You want to stay here
on KFI and listen to it. I think this is
the only station that's running it. I didn't think the
Dodger station is running. Oh they are. I think they are.
Oh there, I do believe they are. It would make
sense if they did, wouldn't it, Robin? Would it make
sense if the Dodger station rennet? Absolutely? Yeah, you're a

(30:26):
company Man or one Conway show on demand on the
iHeart Radio app. Now you can always hear us live
on KFI AM six forty four to seven pm Monday
through Friday, and anytime on demand on the iHeart Radio app.
