Speaker 1 (00:00):
It's camp I Am six forty and you're listening to
The Conway Show on demand on the iHeartRadio app CAMF.
I Am six forty. It is The Conway Show. We
are at smart and Final in your Belinda and guess
what We've just gone over ten thousand dollars.
Speaker 2 (00:24):
It's pretty damn good start.
Speaker 1 (00:25):
Yeah, that's ten thousand meals for kids. Michael Krozer's with us,
Sharon Bellio, Angel Martinez and Maddie back here as well
with Michelle Cube. People wanted me to tell you the
Thanksgiving story, so because we're going to take some time
off next week, this is a true story that happened
(00:46):
in Colorado. My mom lived in Colorado, and my relationship
with my mom was always on and off. We didn't
speak for night six months, then we talked for a
couple of years. That we didn't speak for three months,
then we talked. It was always he's very stressful. So
I'm up in Colorado and I want to spend a
month and a half with my mom. I had six
(01:07):
weeks off and I wull to spend a month and
a half my mom to see if I could understand
her and get to the bottom of how we always
have these run ins. So she said, for Thanksgiving, we're
going to one of her friend's house. She just moved
to a different city in Colorado, Durango, and she said,
it's about an hour and a half drive outside of Durango,
(01:29):
and you and I are going to Thanksgiving to this
woman's house and she's gonna have fifteen twenty people over there.
I said okay. So as we're driving out there, she said,
can I ask you a favorite? I said yeah, And
she says, don't smoke when you're out there. I said okay,
and she said, also, don't tell loud stories. You always
tell loud stories. Don't tell loud stories. I said okay.
(01:52):
And she said, also, don't clap. You have the loudest
clap in the world. Please don't do that, Please don't.
I said okay. And she said, also, please don't swear.
These are religious people. Please don't swear. I said okay.
And she then she said, and don't make fun of
their house. They live in a trailer that still has
(02:12):
the wheels on it and they're in the process of
moving down three houses. Don't make fun of their home.
I said, okay.
Speaker 2 (02:19):
She's giving you air motion.
Speaker 1 (02:21):
She's giving me the entire rundown on what and how
to be I'm fifty one at the time. She's telling
me how to behave She went through about nine or
ten more, you know, help with the turkey, help with
the dishes. Offer you know when you're watching sports, don't
be a no at all, you know, just you know,
just be on your best behaviors. So we get there.
(02:44):
I take all the stuff inside. I'm dressed up. I
got a nice shirt on, a jacket and nice dress pants.
And we go inside and I help with the cooking.
I pour some people to drink. There's a woman with
a wheelchair. I help her get around on the couch
and put her in front of the TV so she
could enjoy the games. I watched the games. I don't
(03:04):
say anything. Dinner is served. I helped serve the dinner,
and then I talked during a lot of people asked
about my dad the Carabernet show. I told him only
positive stories. I cleaned up afterwards, I served dessert, I
did the dishes. I complimented the woman's home. I helped
(03:25):
light the fire. They had a little fireplace there, even
in this home with the wheels on it. I don't
know how they did that, but they had a fireplace.
I brought in wood from outside. I helped clean up.
I was even sweeping because somebody spilled something in the kitchen.
I brought the broom out in the dustpan. And I
did everything right. I served coffee to everybody. I didn't swear,
I didn't drink, I didn't smoke. I had everything my
(03:46):
mom wanted me to do. So we're leaving, and the
woman who owns the house said to my mom, Mary Ann,
you're here. You're welcome here anytime. And your son is
the most beautifully the beautifully behave kid we've ever had.
On Thanksgiving, and we said we all adore him and
we want him back every single year. It was just
(04:08):
a wonderful Thanksgiving. And I'm glad to see that you've
raised this beautiful you know man. And I touchdown with
my mom, right, yeah, touchdown, touch them all, walk off,
grand slam home run. Huge compliment from the woman who
owns the house. So we're driving home and my mom's quiet,
(04:30):
the redbird's quiet. And when the redbird's quiet, she's really
really pissed, angry as hell, just sitting there with a purse,
not even listening to radio, and I asked her about
halfway back to Durango. I said, I'm are you okay?
And she said, yeah, I think I'm okay? And I
(04:50):
said what's wrong? And she said you really want to know?
I said, yeah, what's bothering you? And she says, you
didn't seem like yourself tonight.
Speaker 2 (05:10):
Silence. The rest of the way home.
Speaker 1 (05:12):
I stopped the car. It was snowing, and I said,
you have got to get the f out of this car.
She didn't, But Krozier, I think was there because you
nailed it. Quiet ride home, quiet ride home. You just
(05:33):
didn't seem like yourself tonight. That's right, because I was
doing everything you wanted me to do, exactly how you
want to be, behave compliments from everybody. Didn't seem like
yourself tonight. That's my mom. That's my mom. That's the
same woman who's been thrown out of two Catholic parishes
in the San Fernando Valley two and my dad was
(05:55):
doing the Carabernet show at the time, tithing ten percent
of his salary to Saint mel But my mom was
a very strict life starts at conception and the period
is the size of the United States period. There's no
wiggle room. Conception starts. A life starts at conception period.
(06:18):
And if the priest varied off that by just like
a hair, she would get up in his face afterwards
and says, hey, listen, you mother, you be going after
him with her finger. So they kicked us out at
Saint Mels. We got thrown out of Saint Mel's. We
went to our Lady of Grace. A year and a
half later, Lady of Grace, same thing. He varied off
(06:39):
just a bit. You'd have to have some pretty sensitive
equipment to see where the deviation was. And again afterwards
you piece a you mother, you and who you teaching?
You liberal blah blah blah down to Saint Cyril's. Kicked
out of two parishes on Ventura Boulevard. Every four years
we'd have to move perishes, you know, our Saint Meles
(07:01):
or our Lady of Grace, and ended up in Saint Cyril's.
That was the redbird. That was the red bird. I
do miss her, but man, was she challenging. She was
challenging when we were alive. And so one thing that
all my brothers and my sister agree on she was challenging.
She was challenging, but around Thanksgiving we always remember her
and light a candle for she went to church every
(07:23):
single day. She was very Catholic and loved going to church.
She went every single day and lit candles. So to
Mary and God bless you. Hopefully you know when I
see you next time you've calmed down. All right, real live,
we're out here at Smart and Final. Come on down.
We'll be here for another forty five minutes live on
KFI AM Sick forty.
Speaker 3 (07:45):
You're listening to Tim Conway Junior on demand from KFI
AM six forty.
Speaker 1 (07:52):
Ding Dong and ding Dong. We have gone over ten
thousand dollars here, Thank you very much, Thank you all.
Let's get the where's uh belly, let's get the microphone
and uh and and find out some more about this
lovely crowd because about half of them have split, but
the other half are here and very energetic and uh,
(08:16):
we appreciate everybody coming by. Hey belly, let me talk
to this young man here and his dad. What is
your ethan? Is it ethan?
Speaker 4 (08:26):
Yes?
Speaker 1 (08:26):
Ethan? How are you sir? Good? Good? And uh? What
is your dad's name? Grady didn't, Grady. Didn't you spent
a lot of time with your dad. Huh, yes, Yeah,
that's gonna be. That'll pay off later in your life.
Where's Mom?
Speaker 2 (08:39):
Oh she's here too. Oh, okay, keep us before you
keep me awake.
Speaker 1 (08:43):
I guess how gentlemen, gentlemanly that the guys are sitting
and the woman is standing. You're a big Charlie kirk fan. Yes,
anybody else, any big Charlie kirkman. I remember where I
was when I heard. I was out at Tim Moran
(09:05):
has a Ford dealership in hemet and I was on
his lot, and some guy, one of the general managers,
came up and said, Charlie Kirk's been shot. And I
looked at him, and both me and Tim Moran and
the other guy we just almost we lost, not consciousness,
but like we felt the blood drain out of us.
(09:27):
We couldn't believe it. My sister and my wife. My
wife spent two days in bed, in and out of bed,
just hysterical. And she'd never met him, never met him
before in her life, but he had that kind of
effect on her and on my sister as well. My
sister was hysterical over it, and to have that kind
(09:47):
of effect over somebody you've never met before is really unusual, right.
I know you have the Freedom hat. My wife and
I and my sister have the Freedom shirt. And you
went to the memorial.
Speaker 5 (10:00):
We all did, all three of us.
Speaker 6 (10:01):
You did.
Speaker 5 (10:01):
Yes, it was a great experience for him to be
able to go there.
Speaker 1 (10:04):
Oh, I bet so you stood out in that heat.
Speaker 5 (10:06):
Yes, it were like the lines were people were fainting
and but you know, we got through it. Everybody got through.
Speaker 1 (10:13):
It and all.
Speaker 3 (10:14):
It was a long it was.
Speaker 5 (10:15):
I think we were there for like almost seven hours.
We had a walk from the parking lot all the
way to the stadium, so that was a long.
Speaker 1 (10:21):
Like, like, what time did you get there?
Speaker 3 (10:23):
We got there like.
Speaker 5 (10:24):
Around four in the morning.
Speaker 1 (10:25):
Wow. Wow, true dedication. Yes, yeah, that is great. I
love the hat. I love the shirt. Thank you, sir,
God bless it a great raise that kid. Yeah, that's
a great way to.
Speaker 4 (10:35):
Raise I'm part of the Young Marines American Legion and.
Speaker 1 (10:44):
Really, oh that's fantastic.
Speaker 5 (10:46):
We try to throw the veterans in every way.
Speaker 1 (10:49):
How did you get involved with the Marines. It's school.
Speaker 4 (10:55):
No, we went to a parade for the American Legion
and we saw the Marine detachment. They saw that.
Speaker 1 (11:02):
I was like, oh whoa, yeah old I was.
Speaker 4 (11:04):
I was ten, and said I should join the Young
Marie program. It's for cage ages eight to eighteen.
Speaker 1 (11:10):
Well that's great.
Speaker 5 (11:11):
Actually is gonna go to Hawaii this year in December.
So yeah, that's you know, he earned his way.
Speaker 1 (11:17):
Is that what you want to do later on in life?
Become a marine?
Speaker 7 (11:19):
Yes?
Speaker 1 (11:20):
Good for you, right, who Well, okay, this Orange County
knows how to raise these kids. Yeah, in la would
have been different. You know, you'd been a skateboard probably
already been on weed, you know. But here joining the
US Marines. You get that both from mom and dad.
Then yes, yeah, where where are you from? Where's where
(11:43):
are you from?
Speaker 5 (11:44):
Originally I'm from.
Speaker 1 (11:45):
Allowed here, I was born here yet Yeah, and so
you raised your kid out here? Yes, in Orange County?
Speaker 5 (11:51):
Well, I would say Laverne because that's why. That's right, Laverne.
There we go, so that area.
Speaker 1 (11:56):
I'll tell you a quick story. Mario is his name.
He's a mailman in Burbank. And I was walking. I
walked to the Triple A office. Because it's a long story.
My license was expired. I mean I've been. I'm in
my late fifties whatever you believe, early fifties, late fifties, whatever,
(12:17):
and I'm still my license is expired. Right. So I
walked to the Triple A office and somebody from the
post service US Postal Service. His name is Mari goes Hey,
he goes I listened to the KFI all the time.
I knew i'd see you walking around Burbank one day.
I'm like, okay, that's cool. And so I was talking
to him and he's a Dodger fan and his kids,
his two daughters are big Dodger fans. Where his daughter
(12:39):
and his son and his daughter and his son said, hey,
can you take us to the place where you were raised,
where all the fireworks, the donuts, you know, the gun's
going off, all that stuff. We want to celebrate the
old fashioned way in not in Pomona, but in near
Van Eyes, North Fan Eyes. And he said, it's a
little rough out there there. I grew up in a
(13:00):
rough neighborhood. I don't think you'll like it. And they're like, no, no, no, dad,
let's just go. We're going to celebrate the real way, right,
he said. The kid said, the real Hispanic way, We're
going to go to Panoramic City and really get down
watch the donuts, the fireworks, all it's up. They get
down there, they're there for three minutes. The kids are like,
can we go home? Can we go back to north Ridge?
(13:20):
You know, they didn't realize it gets a little tight
down there. But that's great. Congratulations, I'm raising a kid
like that. Were you in the Marines as well?
Speaker 5 (13:28):
I'm part of the Sons of the American Legion in
Azuso on eighty But my grandfather was in the he
was in the military, and then my grandmother was in
the Army and the.
Speaker 1 (13:38):
Air Force, and so that's wild man.
Speaker 5 (13:41):
So I just wanted to know anybody that has their
grandmother or grandfather or dad, you can join the American
legionhow and you don't have to be a veteran.
Speaker 1 (13:50):
Oh that's great.
Speaker 5 (13:50):
So you want to get back to the veterans in
any way you can, that's the best way.
Speaker 1 (13:54):
That's fantastic. I'm glad you're raising that kid like I'll
bet you you probably have a flag flying outside your house.
Speaker 5 (13:59):
That's right, Yes, yes you do.
Speaker 1 (14:01):
I nailed that one. I don't know how. Shot in
the dark, Shot in the dark. I also have one
outside as well, and I am shocked by how few
people have them. I think more people in Orange County.
Hm though, than I thank you for coming by and
your wife and and keep up the good work. I
hope you joined the Marines one day.
Speaker 4 (14:23):
Yes, thank you.
Speaker 1 (14:23):
All right, be safe and go out there and protect
this country. All right, keep dong with you, Thank you, buddy.
All right, we're live. It's Conway Crozier, Angel Bellio, Maddie,
Michelle Cube had to take off and we're all live
here and you got to come down to your Belinda
Smart and Final.
Speaker 3 (14:41):
You're listening to Tim Conway Junior on demand from KFI
AM six forty.
Speaker 1 (14:47):
The holidays are here at Disneyland Resort. Let me put
my glasses on here so you can actually see this
ding dong. We're by the way. We're as smart and
Final in your Linda Clumbout. Holidays are here at Disneyland Resort.
Man KFI wants to give you a chance to enjoy
an unbelievable season during the Disneyland Resort seventieth Celebration. Experienced

Spectacular World of Color, Happiness at Disneyland California Adventure Park.
Over at Disneyland Park, rediscover holiday classics like the Fireworks Spectacular,
Believe in Holiday Magic, a Christmas Fantasy Parade, and so
(15:32):
much more. Right now, we have a four pack of
one day, one park tickets to Disneyland Park or disney

one eight hundred five to two oh one KFI one
eight hundred five to two oh one KFI and we're
(15:56):
going to take the tenth caller. Holiday offerings available now
through January seventh. Offering subject to restrictions and change without notice.
So that's a cool deal. Also, I was talking to Jake.
Is he still here? Oh? There he is. He lives
in Oh No, It wasn't Jake who told me this.
It was this gentleman here and he said that Waltz Wharf,
(16:21):
which is one of the most one of the best
restaurants in the world, it had closed for a couple
of years and they just told me it's back open.
You've been to Walts Wharf, it's in Seal Beach. Anybody's
been to Walts Wharf, one of the top five restaurants
I think in California, and they're open again. Waltz Wharf
is open again, and when we are. We lived there
(16:44):
for a while, then we moved out and it went
back to Walts Wharf and Walts Wharf always has a
two hour weight to get a table hour and a
half to two hour weight always. So I go up
to the you know the host and is a guy
I think his name was John, and I said, hey,
can I can I put my name down for a table?
And he says, wait a minute. He goes, I think
(17:05):
I know your name. I recognize the voice. Are you
one KFI? And it said, I am thinking I'm getting
the next table. Are you sure he recognized your voice
or did you have your head oh my cafi? Sure yeah,
that might have been any tables. Yeah, And I kept saying, hey,
are there any KFI tables at this KFI restaurant? So uh,
(17:29):
he said, you're on the KFI? He said yes, thinking
I'm getting the next table, and he said I'm going
to do you a favor. I said, oh yeah, and
I'm looking round at the tables, went to one. We're
gonna get he said in an hour and a half.
I'm gonna paid you personally unbelievable.
Speaker 2 (17:46):
What do you do?
Speaker 1 (17:47):
All right? The tenth caller is going to get tickets
to either at Disneyland Resort either or Disney California Venture
Park one eight five to oh one k F. I
we I have a woman here named Carol, Is that right?
I'll may flip the mic up there, that might help them.
All right, Carol, you have a friend who is in
(18:08):
tremendous need right now? We do, and also featured on
Oprah Winfrey.
Speaker 6 (18:13):
Yes, what happened in two thousand and seven, Chris Coble
and his wife Lori Coble lost all three of their
children god car accident. It was all over. She was
on Oprah, the family was on Oprah. But the blessing
on the side of that is that they wound up having.
Speaker 1 (18:30):
Triplet triplets on the same day that those kids died.
I think something around yeah, so, but that was unusual
that set of circumstances. I remember we did that story
on kfive, the three kids that died, and I think
on the anniversary of that accident, she had triplets.
Speaker 6 (18:48):
Yeah, so they do have the three and they're going
to graduate in May.
Speaker 1 (18:51):
Well, how old are those kids now?
Speaker 6 (18:54):
Eighteen seventeen eighteen, they're about to graduate.
Speaker 1 (18:56):
I can't believe that's been already eighteen years.
Speaker 6 (18:58):
Yeah, I know, it's it was a very big deal.
Where we were, Yeah, where was that act?
Speaker 1 (19:04):
Was that data point?
Speaker 6 (19:05):
It was in southern California or southern Orange County. It
was on the five. It was a big rig that
rear rended them.
Speaker 7 (19:14):
I remember that, Yeah, I remember that.
Speaker 1 (19:16):
Yeah. We did that story for weeks.
Speaker 6 (19:18):
Yeah. And now she's got a whole battle of breast
and brain cancer that she's dealing with. Oh my god,
Chris it has taken a leave from work and unfortunately
he's not you know, he's depleted all of his PTO,
all of his emergency time and now he wants to
be there with his wife to give her the best care.
And that's approximately seven thousand dollars a week.
Speaker 1 (19:40):
Oh man.
Speaker 6 (19:41):
And she's had recently had a setback, but she's a trooper.
She's really fighting and so she they have this gofund
me set up.
Speaker 1 (19:50):
Okay, let's give out the address for that.
Speaker 6 (19:52):
I appreciated. It's for Lori Koebol to go fund me.
Yes co b l E. And after seeing what you've
done for Steph Fush. I thought there's no better team
to get the word out there than you know.
Speaker 1 (20:07):
If Steph Fush had a big heart, he would give
that money to her.
Speaker 6 (20:10):
I was saying the same thing that I just don't
want to say it. So the pastries are the bribe.
I hope you guys are over.
Speaker 1 (20:16):
Oh yeah with the portos, Yeah, exactly. How well do
you know this woman?
Speaker 6 (20:21):
I don't. I work with her husband.
Speaker 1 (20:24):
So it is a bit of a what a life.
Speaker 6 (20:28):
It is amazing that they are able to do what
they've done to just overcome it.
Speaker 1 (20:35):
And I do remember that story. There was a significant
date there where those three kids were killed, and I
think a year to the day those triplets were born.
I think that's the story. But man, unbelievable.
Speaker 6 (20:46):
It's very job like where they lost everything but they
were given back everything right now.
Speaker 1 (20:53):
And what are the kids? Are they? Three boys? Three girls?
Speaker 6 (20:55):
No, it was exactly what they lost. Yes, yes, my god,
one boy, two girls.
Speaker 1 (21:01):
And that's wild. Okay, all right, so Laurie coo b
l e okay on GoFundMe go fund all right, you
are a terrific friend. Thank you for doing that. And
God bless that.
Speaker 6 (21:12):
I appreciate you giving me the opportunity to put it
out there, and I'm really just praying that this blows
up and gets them to their goal and that he's
able to continue to be there for his wife.
Speaker 1 (21:24):
I'm glad that her husband has friends like you. You
need those people in life, especially now in the circumstances.
Thank you so much.
