Speaker 1 (00:00):
You're listening to Tim Conway Junior on demand from KFI
AM six forty.
Speaker 2 (00:08):
KFI AM six forty Conway Show. The Dodger game starts
in about a minute, and well, let's scores for you
all afternoon into the evening. I hope and pray it
doesn't go eighteen innings. That was a long ass game.
I really as a board op hope him. Pray for
(00:29):
Colin's sake it does not go eighteen innings again.
Speaker 3 (00:33):
Who oh yeah Colin next door here? Yeah, yeah, man,
that guy had to work until midnight.
Speaker 4 (00:39):
I was here with him up until the seventeenth inning
and then I had to go back and walk the dogs.
He was just waiting for one. They had so many opportunities,
so many men left on base that there were so
many golden opportunities that got missed, and that last one
happened to be an amazing moment, specifically for him.
Speaker 3 (00:57):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (00:57):
Yeah, And those guys work their ass off. Kate Colin,
And who's the other kid that vassa? David Vasse Is
that that guy's name. Yeah, he's great.
Speaker 3 (01:10):
We'll keep it.
Speaker 2 (01:10):
Eyeing this hurricane that is barreling through Jamaica on its
way to Cuba. It's more powerful than Katrina. It's it
is about five to ten miles an hour sustained winds, higher,
faster than Katrina, and it is wiped out a huge
(01:31):
part of Jamaica.
Speaker 3 (01:33):
It's on its way to Cuba.
Speaker 2 (01:35):
And those islands are not set up like we are
here in the United States. You know, the building codes
aren't the same. A lot of people are putting together
homes with you know doing it.
Speaker 3 (01:49):
It's a lot of do it yourself projects.
Speaker 2 (01:53):
Cuba is not set up and they could get absolutely
pummeled by this. So I wouldn't be surprised if once
this storm leaves the area that there is a lot
of aid that comes from the United States and is
given to Jamaica and to Cuba. I have a feeling
(02:14):
that Cuba is going to need a lot of help,
more so than Jamaica, because Jamaica has a tourism industry
that brings in a lot of money. At Montego Bay,
Sandals Kingston, they have really My brother got married in
Montego Bay and I went there for his wedding and
(02:38):
I had an incident where I wanted to get out
in playpool or go drink or do something I didn't
want to stay at this Sandals. Everything seemed to be
too American. Everybody there was from America, the waiters, the waitresses,
the cook everybody's you know, it's like going to Miami,
and I want to get out and see a little
of the of the island. So little flavor. Yeah, So
(03:01):
I walked to a bar there was up in the hills.
Always a good idea in Jamaica, a great idea, great idea.
And I walked up, walked into this bar and there's
about seventeen local guys. They were playing pool for money
and I played a little bit, lost a little bit,
and then I was walking back to the hotel, buzzed,
(03:21):
you know, drinking my is it stripe beer?
Speaker 3 (03:25):
Is that the Jamaican beer? Red stripe, red stripe? Yeah?
I had about twelve of those.
Speaker 2 (03:29):
And I'm walking back and a car rolls up on
me and two guys get out of the car and I'm.
Speaker 3 (03:36):
Like, okay, here we go, this is it, this is it.
Speaker 2 (03:40):
And the guy goes, I was probably, you know, twenty
eight at the time. He goes, a young man, come here,
and I was going to take off into it. There
was a cornfield there and I was going to take
off and try to hide the cornfield and I turned
around and I said, what do you need this? What
(04:00):
are you doing out here? And it turned out there
are cops and I said, I'm walking back to the hotel.
And the guy's like, buddy, look, I don't know where
you're from, but this is one of the dumbest moves you've.
Speaker 5 (04:10):
Ever made in your life in a Jamaican accent. Yeah,
this is not for you.
Speaker 2 (04:14):
Mon, This is not what you should be doing out here, mom.
So they drove me back to the hotel, and on
the way back to the hotel, they just kept talking
about how stupid I am. This is not because I
don't know where you're from. Don't you read new newspapers.
This is not a good place to walk out here, Mom? Yeah, and.
Speaker 3 (04:34):
No I didn't.
Speaker 2 (04:34):
That was before, like, you know, people had cell phones
and you know I didn't record any of that.
Speaker 5 (04:41):
Are you're looking for the Bob sled team?
Speaker 6 (04:42):
Mom?
Speaker 3 (04:46):
As well?
Speaker 2 (04:47):
I'm actually thinking about walking to Kingston. He goes, Oh,
that's a good idea, Mom, that's a great idea. You'll
never make it, but it is a beautiful island. You've
been to Jamaica I.
Speaker 5 (04:56):
Have, yeah, one time on a solo vacation.
Speaker 3 (04:59):
Oh that's a cool way to go. Where'd you go
to Montego Bay?
Speaker 5 (05:02):
Uh negrill?
Speaker 2 (05:03):
Wow, I'm really going for the north to west corner
of the island. Yeah, that's where Montego Bay is, right
in that area. Yes, where the airport is. That's southeast north.
I was north May. That was a Montego Bay is
north of that island. Is a smaller airport there, Yeah, yeah,
there really smaller airport there. But it is absolutely spectacular.
(05:26):
And in what they said is they said, do not
bring any weed or drugs or any alcohol with you.
You'll be thrown in jail and they'll never hear from
you again. They are really strict about that.
Speaker 5 (05:38):
Yeah you can. You can find plenty there.
Speaker 7 (05:40):
You know.
Speaker 2 (05:40):
I literally got in the cab and the and the
cab driver opens up his glove cambar he goes, would
you like a soaka weed?
Speaker 4 (05:47):
Man?
Speaker 2 (05:48):
Oh my, I thought it was illegal because that is,
But for you, for twenty dollars, I give you a
Socca weed.
Speaker 8 (05:53):
I got it.
Speaker 9 (05:53):
I landed on the plane at the airport and in
the airport they said, over here.
Speaker 5 (05:58):
Man, you get your guns the whole section over.
Speaker 3 (06:02):
Here, Crowzer you and that is I really respect that.
Speaker 2 (06:05):
I'm very envious that you do that, you go on
vacation by yourself, that I've done that before in my life,
and that I've had some of the greatest vacations ever.
Speaker 9 (06:13):
I did that the year just under a year after
my dad passed, so I kind of did it in
celebration of him.
Speaker 5 (06:20):
He'd love that. Yeah, And it was one of the
best things I ever.
Speaker 2 (06:22):
You stayed for a week, yes, the whole weeks. It's
a great hang to go on vacation by yourself.
Speaker 5 (06:28):
Absolutely fantastically.
Speaker 3 (06:29):
I think.
Speaker 9 (06:30):
I think if you're by yourself, though, you need to
be in that resort. I went, and I've ventured out,
but Nice States.
Speaker 2 (06:35):
My favorite solo vacation. The Rams were playing Philadelphia in
the playoffs and it was gonna be on like December
twenty ninth, and so I flew twa into Philly, watched
the game, the Rams won, and then I took a
train to New York City where Dick Clark was doing
New Year's Rocket Eve. And I was working for Dick
Clark at the time, and I said, Hey, do you
(06:57):
guys need need help? And they said, yeah, we could
use you know, a runner or a pa or whatever. Said, Oh,
I'd be happy to do that. So I went to
New York, took a train to New York. I saw
all of DC before, you know, in the middle of
all that, went to New York. I worked for Dick
Clark in New Year's Rock and Eve and that was
just such a great week. I still remember, like all
the great details, going to Philadelphia, then to Washington, d C.
(07:19):
Then to New York City and working you know in
right in the heart of Times Square and Dick Clark
was the host, and that was before he had a
stroke and he was knocking it out. It was just
a really cool vacation. I mean, going by yourself on vacation,
I think used to be looked down upon, like you know,
it's kind of odd, but I think I really respect
(07:42):
people to do them, you know that just pack up,
you go when you want, You eat when you want,
you turn the air conditioning on when you want, you
sleep when you want, you watch TV when you want.
Speaker 3 (07:52):
You do everything for yourself because just you.
Speaker 9 (07:55):
Yeah, Normally, like if when I'm traveling with someone else,
my head is preoccupied with them. One hundred percent and
going by myself like that one time, it was just phenomenal.
I don't have to worry about anything or anybody, just myself.
Speaker 2 (08:06):
And when you go with somebody, especially if you go
with a woman you are, you get in protection mode.
You know, when you go to a foreign country, you know,
and you want to protect them. That eats up a
lot of your energy and you're a lot of your fun. Yep,
you know, when you go by yourself, it's spectacular.
Speaker 3 (08:20):
Angel.
Speaker 2 (08:20):
You strike me as a woman who vacations by herself
almost exclusively, well not almost.
Speaker 3 (08:27):
I mean I don't travel.
Speaker 8 (08:29):
With other people, but I do love to go by
myself as well.
Speaker 5 (08:33):
It's fun.
Speaker 3 (08:34):
I didn't mean. I didn't mean that as insulid. I
was envious that you do that.
Speaker 2 (08:39):
And balliol I don't think you've ever vacation in your life,

Speaker 2 (09:20):
One thousand dollars. It's a lot of dough one thousand
dollars and it's all yours. You can do whatever the
hell you want with it. All right, Yesterday there was
a police pursuit on the two ten freeway. Guy shot
and killed San Bordino County Deputy Andrew Nuniez, and the
(09:43):
pursuit was seen by millions of people.
Speaker 3 (09:47):
And while it was going on, we weren't we weren't really.
Speaker 2 (09:50):
Privy to all the details on why the cops wanted
this guy, what did he do?
Speaker 3 (09:55):
But I noticed it was a really aggressive chase.
Speaker 2 (09:58):
And when you see a lot of cops out there,
like thirty cop cars, two helicopters, it's somebody has really
stepped off the curb and done something really gruesome to
law enforcement.
Speaker 3 (10:13):
And that was the case. There was a domestic dispute.
Speaker 2 (10:16):
Originally was a call for shoplifting and then they changed
that to the domestic dispute. It was a guy having
an argument with his girlfriend and he shot and killed
a deputy Andrew nunya Is in the head and killed him.
And so here's a little more on the tactical means
(10:41):
and what they used during the pursuit of this motorcycle.
Speaker 3 (10:45):
At one point, if you remember.
Speaker 2 (10:46):
There was a highway patrol officer who was following the
motorcycle while on his motorcycle and almost did a pit
maneuver motorcycle the motorcycle.
Speaker 3 (10:56):
I've never seen that before.
Speaker 2 (10:58):
But they really wanted this guy because he had shot
and killed a deputy. And when you f with the
cops like that, man, are you in for an awaking,
an awakening, a rude awakening. They will pursue you with
every ounce of their bodies that try to capture you.
(11:21):
And not only did demonstrate why it was wrong for
what you did, but to show everybody else and make
an example out of you. Don't shoot cops, and if
you do, the entire state is going to come down
on you. It's something that crosses over political boundaries or
(11:43):
political lines. Democrats, Republicans, independents, they all hate this and
they come down in you like a ton of bricks.
All right, here's the motorcycle pursuit and the tactics that
they used yesterday in that chase.
Speaker 6 (11:56):
This pursuit was certainly, as we can see, a wild one,
but experts ap the officers really trained for situations just
like that. It takes very complex motor skills and situational
awareness as those officers try to stop the suspect and
also keep the public safe. The pursuit at times reaching
speeds over one hundred and twenty miles per hour. For
law enforcement, this was a huge danger to the public.
(12:19):
Doctor Tommy Tunson is a retired police chief.
Speaker 7 (12:22):
Very horrific, probably one of the most dangerous type of
pursuits because motorcycles are involved.
Speaker 6 (12:28):
The suspect moved east on the two ten freeway and
CHP was right behind him. At one point one officer
got very close.
Speaker 7 (12:35):
He wanted to make sure about the safety of everybody
around him, and his vision is somewhat obscured on a
motorcycle with the helmet and the glasses on his chase,
and so he got close to it so he could
verify this was the same suspect.
Speaker 6 (12:51):
The suspect then appeared to pull out a gun and
even took his hands off the handlebars.
Speaker 7 (12:56):
Therefore, all these safety measures, all the tactical situational awareness
takes hold at that very moment, and we keep our
eyes on him to ensure that no one else, the
motor republic, or anybody else is harm because of his
extreme disregard for human life.
Speaker 6 (13:13):
The pursuit came to a dramat again when this black
sedan swerved into the motorcycle's lane and the suspect flew
through the air and crashed on the freeway.
Speaker 2 (13:22):
And this the guy who hit him with the car.
He was off duty, and he put himself on duty
immediately and rammed into the motorcyclist and caused him to
do a flip, and then the motorcycle came down and
landed on the guy's head.
Speaker 6 (13:36):
It was actually an off duty deputy in that vehicle,
and what he did was considered a legal intervention.
Speaker 7 (13:42):
That very moment is when a motorcyclist turned around, looked away,
and that vehicle, coincidentally driven by an all duty deputy,
was getting into the lane. Maybe to slow down to
pursuit that he could see in his review mirror in
his vehicle and as a swarm police officer, and he
understands the gravity of what's called on. Now he's in
(14:03):
the midst of a pursuit on a major freeways.
Speaker 6 (14:06):
Well, now that we know the name of the suspect,
Angelo Jose Saldivar, we are waiting for more information about
any possible motive the San Bernardino County District Attorney's Offices.
Charges will be announced soon. I'm Colonel Scron ABC seven eyewitnessed.
Speaker 2 (14:20):
Me our collars Grande. We'll have any more information that
comes in on that, we'll have that for you. Also,
they're putting together a fundraiser for the officer who left
this planet with a wife, a two year old daughter
and a wife who's pregnant. She's expecting And if you've
ever been pregnant before, or you're a father of a child,
(14:42):
you know the challenges that go through the entire process,
and then to involve to add to the challenges the
horrific murder of your husband and the father is unimaginable.
What this woman is going through. I hope she has
a support and it sounds like she does. It sounds
(15:04):
like she's got a lot of people around her. They're
going to help her out and try to fill that void.
And these deputies step forward and also try to help
in a situation like that. But you know, there's gonna
be a fundraise. They're gonna raise a ton of money,
but money doesn't mean much to her right now. She
trade all of it just to you know, get her
husband back. And there's gonna be a service. We'll tell
(15:25):
you give you the details on that that's gonna be
very well attended from with the police officers coming from
around the country, perhaps around the world to pay their respects.
And Burbank cops are great. Burbank cops are always every
time I go to a you know, I've been to
a service for a fallen officer, either in La County,
Orange County, Ventura County, Burbank cops always show.
Speaker 3 (15:48):
Up in great numbers. They are terrific.
Speaker 2 (15:51):
They really do support their fellow brothers and sisters. In
a moment like this, we will have more information on that.
The Dodgers are playing as well. They are in the
top of the second inning. Zero zero Otani's pitching, so
we'll have updates and scores for you all afternoon. We're
live on KFI AM six forty.
Speaker 1 (16:13):
You're listening to Tim Conway Junior on demand from KFI
AM six forty.
Speaker 2 (16:20):
AM six fort It's Conway Show zero zero. At Dodgers
Stadium looks like a full house again, fifty six thousand
people out there watching the Dodgers trying to take Game four.
If they win this game, they will be headhead three
games to one, and it is going to be very,
very difficult for Toronto to win three straight and beat
(16:45):
these Dodgers.
Speaker 3 (16:46):
This is a must win for Toronto. What a game
last night.
Speaker 2 (16:51):
I think a lot of people saying, whoever won last
game is last night's game is going to win the
whole thing, and they may be true, that might be true.
Who knows, you know, Strange things happen in the game.
By what a beautiful night at Dodger Stadium, A little warm,
but great October baseball. And to be out there at
(17:12):
the stadium eating a hot dog, drinking a beer, eating
some popcorn or peanuts. I don't know how it gets
any better. And we all as a city have to
thank the organization and the guys running the Dodgers who
put this together.
Speaker 3 (17:32):
It is.
Speaker 2 (17:32):
It brings this city so much joy, especially after what
happened on January seventh of this past year, all of
the commotions surrounding Ice and the raids and what's going
on on that level. People who are in Los Angeles
who are broke. It's very expensive to live out here.
(17:54):
But right now when you're watching the game, it takes
your mind off all that. We all have the same
goal to support these guys and try to win another
World Series. It'll be the second World Series in a row.
And I think that they're going to have the same
parade if they win as they did last year, where
there's a parade downtown and then it culminates at Dodger
(18:17):
Stadium and there's one big party. And I went last
year and I hope to go again this year if
they win, and it was a lot of fun. There's
about fifty five fifty six thousand people there last year,
one big party. It will be great if they could
win another World Series and all these kids. My daughter
works at a local school in the San Fernando Valley
(18:40):
and there's probably four or five hundred students that go
to her the school that she works at, and every
single one of those kids, without exception, every single one
of those kids had either a Dodger hat, a jersey,
a jacket, a sweater.
Speaker 3 (18:57):
That say the Dodgers on it.
Speaker 2 (18:58):
The new crop of Dodger fans is going to be
much bigger than they could ever imagine. Every single kid
in that school is a Dodger fan, every one of them,
and they're going to grow up listen to the games
on five seventy. That's gonna be their Dodger station, watching
them on TV, going to the ballpark, and this is
(19:21):
just going to keep expanding and expanding, and it might
price a lot of people out when it comes to
the World Series. I think the cheapest seat right now
is eight hundred dollars with shoe Aotani pitching. But I
don't think anyone really, you know, cares about the money
that they're spending. Once you get to the stadium, I
don't think you you know, you think to yourself, oh,
(19:41):
I spend eight hundred bucks.
Speaker 3 (19:43):
I hope I enjoy this.
Speaker 2 (19:44):
You just you just sit there and you're in awe
on how beautiful that stadium is and all the memories
you have at that stadium when you were a child,
you know, your first time you went to Dodger Stadium,
you know, the first playoff game you saw on maybe
you were old enough to remember, you know, for an
end Venezuela. Maybe even went to Opening Day where Fernando
(20:05):
Vealezuela pitched in nineteen eighty eighty one. It's it's been
a lot of joy for me, my friends and my family.
People work here. We work right next door to the
Dodger station. So literally, if I were to drill a
hole in the wall that's just west of us or
(20:27):
west wall in the station, it would pop through into
the Dodger station. The Dodgers have two stations here, or
two rooms that they use. They use one that's directly
west of us and one directly east of US. So
either way, we are book bookended by Dodger Studios here,
and so we get the inside scoop on the Dodgers,
(20:48):
you know, we get the hang out with David Vasse
and Tim Kats and Colin Petros and money. It's just
a it's really a cool hang here, especially during the
World Series. The energy in this building, the people coming
in and out and celebrating and screaming and yelling and
trying to get this team another World Series. It's a
(21:09):
great time of year, great time of year to be
a Dodger. Was that Brian Kelly that said that. Remember
Brian Kelly who was the football coach of Notre Dame.
He left it like overnight. He quit coaching Notre Dame,
left at like midnight like a scoundrel. Went to LSU
and the introduction of him at LSU to be the
(21:32):
new coach of football. He was going to go to
an LSU basketball game and during the halftime he grabbed
the microphone and he walked to the center court and
they introduced him as a new football coach of LSU
Louisiana State University. And he goes out onto the court
and he says, oh man, it's a good, good time
(21:55):
to be a Tiger. With that accent, but that like
southern draw. He's never had that and be born in
his life. This phony is Brian Kelly, great time to
be a Tiger. And it lasted about three years.
Speaker 3 (22:08):
They threw him out.
Speaker 2 (22:10):
They fired him on Saturday after a loss, another LSU loss.
Speaker 3 (22:15):
They fired him.
Speaker 2 (22:15):
I think they still own like sixty million dollars, but
they don't care. They just want his ass out of
there because LSU is not used to losing, and they
fired him on his birthday. That's an extra FU fired
him on his birthday and threw him out of town.
Speaker 3 (22:33):
So lsu'll be looking for a new coach.
Speaker 2 (22:35):
They are not used to losing at LSU on any
level of any sport. And you come in on your
high horrors or your big Notre dame coach, and you
don't make it to the playoffs every year, or you
lose three or four games of the season, you are done.
You're done. I don't know what he does now. He
doesn't have to do anything. He's going to make another
(22:56):
sixty million dollars from LSU, but he has been disgraced
and he's been thrown out of town, so who knows
where he ends up. Dodgers zero zero in the bottom
of the second inning, and we'll keep an eye on
that game so you don't have to and we'll also
hit you with some news as well. We got a
(23:18):
weather advisory for southern California that includes some Santa Anna wins.
We come back, we'll talk to you about that zero
zero at Dodgers Stadium. We are live on kfive.
Speaker 3 (23:27):
Come he fine. Four o'clockn my show, the Dodgers have scoring.
Speaker 2 (23:34):
One nothing Dodgers and sho heo tanis still pitching top
of the third third inning.
Speaker 3 (23:43):
Thing dog with this guy.
Speaker 2 (23:46):
All right, we do have weather warnings for you, Santa
Ana wins. Anytime you hear about sant Ana wins before
January seventh of this year, you're like, Okay, it's gonna
be windy. Now, now you want to know when, how fast,
how long it's going to last the whole run, because
we are all very well aware that you could lose
(24:06):
everything everything in the Santa Ana winds and it's going
to be like that for the next ten to fifteen years.
May never go back because of the damage of those
those fires. Let's find out what's going on here with
these Santa Ana winds.
Speaker 8 (24:20):
There is a level of concerns hot temperatures heightening southern
California's fire danger. Temperatures expected to be warming up as
the Santa Ana winds head to our region.
Speaker 10 (24:30):
That it is a going to be a hot, dry,
windy day through a lot of areas of Los Angeles County.
It is the ripe conditions to start a fire and
for it to spread aggressively.
Speaker 3 (24:39):
Do you hear that.
Speaker 2 (24:40):
I know sometimes you have asked listen to the radio.
This is not one of those times. You got to
listen to this. Listen carefully, listen.
Speaker 3 (24:45):
Here we go. Listen to this.
Speaker 10 (24:47):
Conditions to start a fire and for it to spread aggressively.
Speaker 3 (24:50):
Okay, we back this up. Here we go.
Speaker 10 (24:51):
It is the ripe conditions to start a fire and
for it to spread aggressively, the right condition.
Speaker 8 (24:57):
Katla Weather Team predicting wind gus could be between thirty
five and forty five miles per hour through the Santa
Ana Wind Corridor. The strongest winds expected Tuesday into Wednesday morning.
Speaker 11 (25:07):
Wind GUS as well as very dry vegetation and no
precipitation expected. Those combined to create a situation where we
must use the safety tool public safety power shutoffs.
Speaker 8 (25:22):
Southern California Edison alerting roughly fifty thousand of their customers.
Speaker 2 (25:26):
They great fifty thousand people are gonna have their electricity
shut offs.
Speaker 8 (25:30):
They could be impacted by those preemptive public safety power shutoffs.
Speaker 2 (25:34):
I don't know anywhere else in America this happens where
the wind kicks up and we have to shut the
power off, like it's you know, nineteen twelve around here.
Speaker 11 (25:42):
Let's say a palme front or a branch or a
tumbleweed becomes airborne. We want to make sure that if
that happens, power lines are turned off to prevent a spark.
Speaker 8 (25:54):
La County Fire prepositioning strike teams and upstaffing their stations.
Speaker 10 (25:58):
We increased our foot with our hand crews and our
aircraft and our bulldozers.
Speaker 8 (26:03):
This engine coming in from the City of Industry patrolling
parts of Malibu and Amora Hills, keeping a watchful eye
on the area.
Speaker 10 (26:11):
With a red flag being issued in areas we have
those vulnerabilities, so we had to upstaff our operational footprint.
Speaker 8 (26:18):
Assistant Fire Chief Drew Smith saying, even with the recent
rainstorm two weeks ago in La there wasn't enough water
to take away the threat of a fire.
Speaker 10 (26:27):
Some areas we had in inch, some areas we had
four inches. The rain did stimulate some new brass to grow,
but it does not significantly reduce the probability for a
fire to start and spread. So those vulnerabilities are still there.
Speaker 8 (26:41):
So Kyle Edison going on to say that if your
power does go out in the next day or two,
try to avoid using any of those candles.
Speaker 3 (26:48):
That poses a whole additional risk.
Speaker 8 (26:50):
We're going to want to use flashlights or any battery
operated lamps. But I gotta say, it has been hot
all day here and that when kicking up just a
little a little bit in the past thirty minutes or so,
live in Calabasas.
Speaker 2 (27:03):
Here we go, sant Ana winds. The weather advisory. We
are in for a long couple of days. These aren't
the winds like we had on January seventh of this year,
but they're close. They're close, and this could be a disaster.
This could be, you know, not not a repeat of
what happened earlier this year, but certainly very concerning for
(27:26):
people that live near the hills. Very concerning weather advisory.
Let's get some more information he.
Speaker 8 (27:32):
That if your power does go out in the next day,
rebbe hold.
Speaker 2 (27:35):
Them on a second. This is the weather advisory they're
giving everybody.
Speaker 12 (27:38):
We have a heat advisory. When advisory red flag warning.
Keep in mind when we talk about heat advisories, it's
the heat relative to what is somewhat normal for that
time of the year. So we've had some very mild
weather through October. Body starts to acclimate to all of
these changes, and even though we've had hotter weather, this
is going to be a big change. So it takes
a toll on your body. And that's why we issue
(28:00):
these heat advisories, not to sit there and say, hey,
it's going.
Speaker 3 (28:03):
To be hot.
Speaker 12 (28:03):
It's to tell you, hey, your advised that the heat
is going to have a little bit of a toll
on you.
Speaker 2 (28:08):
Okay, it is going to be hot this week, it's
gonna be windy. We also have Halloween this Friday, so
a lot of kids will be out on the streets.
And to top it off, another thing you've got to
remember this weekend is we change the clocks and we
fall back on Sunday. So Sunday at two am or
three am, it's going to go back to two am.
You're gonna get another hour's worth of sleep. But it's
(28:30):
going to start getting darker earlier, an hour earlier. And
you people that get off at work at five or
six o'clock, you can be driving home in the dark.
And so we got a lot work going on. We've
got Halloween, the sant Ana winds, the clock's being turned back,
Dodger is going on. We've got a lot going on.
You got to listen the KFI This week, huge week
(28:50):
for KFI because.
Speaker 12 (28:51):
Of this big extreme warm up that we haven't had
quite some time. So we do know we have a
warm up. We have offshore winds. Want to see those
airs not tightly packed. We want to see some space
in there that will tell us the wind direction and
also the intensity. So up through the high desert, looks
like our strongest winds coming tomorrow afternoon.
Speaker 3 (29:11):
Okay, do you hear that?
Speaker 2 (29:12):
Tomorrow afternoon for the high the strong winds in the desert.
Speaker 12 (29:15):
Looks like our strongest winds coming tomorrow afternoon. This afternoon,
we will see the winds pick up. Now I'm hoping
the winds stay between that thirty to forty mile prior range. Yes,
that's still warm, that's still dry, it's still a little
bit gusty. We don't want the sixty seventy mile prior winds.
I don't see that happening, but we still have the
wind advisory just in case we do see the winds
become more of an issue. The winds are going to
(29:36):
do its job. That offshore flow going to warm us up,
dry us out. We're going twenty degrees warmer today. In fact,
if you look at your temperatures today and tomorrow and
actually up then from what I was forecasting yesterday for
today and tomorrow. So the heat is here.
Speaker 7 (29:49):
Here's the good news.
Speaker 3 (29:50):
Oh, we got good news here.
Speaker 12 (29:51):
It is so we're going to get there's some changes
to the forecast. First changes.
Speaker 3 (29:56):
We are hotter. We know it is going to be hot.
Speaker 12 (29:58):
We're hotter today and tomorrow. Your weekend, though, is looking
a little bit better. So those of you that had
weekend plans, now instead of those eighty degree temperatures downtown
mid to upper eighties, it's lower eighties. The ie you're
still holding on to the heat. You're still holding on
to upper eighties. But we do get this hot burst
over the next couple of days. Still warm through the weekend,
above the average, but we need to get through today
(30:19):
and tomorrow because of the heat and the windesday. That's
the main concern.
Speaker 2 (30:23):
Okay, so this weekend was supposed to be in the
high eighties, low nineties. That's been changed and the new
numbers are low eighties. That is great news. Especially on Halloween.
You know, people these kids have these big heavy costumes
on going out trigger treating in ninety degree weather is
not great. So it's gonna be a little cooler this
weekend and hopefully next week all this heat does leave.
(30:46):
I'll check it out for you real quick. The San
Fernando Valley for next week starting Monday is going to
be fantastic, seventy six seventy six, seventy and next Thursday,
a week from the day after tomorrow, the high in
the San Fernando Valley.
Speaker 3 (31:03):
Sixty eight degrees. Sixty eight degrees.
Speaker 2 (31:07):
So let's get through this week and then we can
start putting sweaters on next week. Conway Show. We're keep
an eye on the Dodger game. Still one nothing out
of Dodger Stadium. Dodgers are winning jitter one.
Speaker 3 (31:16):
They're down. Vlad Guerrero Junior hit a two run blasts.
Speaker 2 (31:20):
I've been doing these weather reports instead of keeping an
eye on the Dodgers two to one Toronto. All right,
they need to come back, all right, Well they're totally
capable of that.
Speaker 3 (31:31):
We're live on KFI AM six forty.
Speaker 2 (31:33):
Conway Show on demand on the iHeart Radio app. Now
you can always hear us live on KFI AM six
forty four to seven pm Monday through Friday, and anytime
on demand on the iHeart Radio app.
