Speaker 2 (00:00):
I am sixty and you're listening to The Conway Show
on demand on.
Speaker 3 (00:05):
The iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 2 (00:07):
We've got Jesse Smolett, Jesse Smolley Iver you pronounce him.
He's the guy that was allegedly attacked in Chicago and
by two guys wearing Maga hats and they called him
the N word and the F word. And then it
turns out that that whole story was a hoax.
Speaker 3 (00:28):
And a lot of people jumped on it. You know, Oh,
how dare that?
Speaker 4 (00:31):
You know?
Speaker 2 (00:32):
People call him that I even just made the whole
story up. So now there's a documentary out on the
entire incident, and I think Juicy smole A is in it,
and I wonder if he's gonna cop to the fact
that he made the whole thing up. I don't know,
But if not, I don't know why they're doing the documentary.
Speaker 3 (00:54):
You know, what are they gonna do?
Speaker 1 (00:54):
It?
Speaker 2 (00:55):
Just continue the lie for this guy. Let's find out
there's a documentary. Krozier found this for us, So thank you, Crozer.
Speaker 3 (01:02):
Have you seen it? Asn't come out.
Speaker 5 (01:03):
Yet, that's coming out one week from today.
Speaker 2 (01:05):
Oh, I gotta check it out. I got to look
at this big fan of that whole incident. Here we go, everybody,
Jesse Juicy Smoole.
Speaker 6 (01:13):
A January twenty ninth, twenty nineteen, police were called to
an incident. They seen an actor called Jesse Smollett with
a news around his neck. She says that he was
the victim of a hate crime.
Speaker 7 (01:25):
To think that I had two white guys attack a
black man in this city was disgusting to me.
Speaker 6 (01:33):
This was a racially motivated incident involving a celebrity.
Speaker 7 (01:36):
I knew this was going to be huge.
Speaker 8 (01:38):
You could not turn on the TV, you cannot turn
on the radio.
Speaker 9 (01:41):
It literally was everywhere.
Speaker 6 (01:44):
I thought it was a horrible crime at first, until
it started to.
Speaker 1 (01:48):
Fall apart to me.
Speaker 8 (01:49):
Jesse was still being treated as the victim, but the
narrative out there was shifting.
Speaker 2 (01:54):
Shifting, Yeah, just a slightly shifting.
Speaker 9 (01:58):
Was shifting some things.
Speaker 2 (02:00):
It wasn't exploding or you know, blowing up in his face,
I you know, revealing that he's a huge liar. It
was just shifting, a little shifting a couple degrees, was
shifting some things.
Speaker 7 (02:16):
Kind of struck me as a little odd.
Speaker 6 (02:19):
It was not fit with justice account It would occurred.
Speaker 7 (02:21):
We were going through the polar vortex at the time.
Who was out in the street with it being cold
out there.
Speaker 10 (02:27):
The fact that they weren't buying his story, it was like, Wow, I.
Speaker 7 (02:31):
Was taking in.
Speaker 6 (02:31):
The pressure's on to get to the bottom of what's
going on.
Speaker 7 (02:34):
We saw that they had actually identified who these guys were.
I was like, we got this, dude.
Speaker 1 (02:41):
The twists in terms of it are really george up face.
Speaker 11 (02:45):
I would not be my mother's son if I was
capable of one drop of what I was accused of.
Speaker 3 (02:50):
M Well, then maybe you're not. Maybe you're adopted.
Speaker 11 (02:53):
I would not be my mother's son if I was
capable of one drop of what I.
Speaker 7 (02:56):
Was accused of.
Speaker 8 (02:58):
Most people don't really know the truth and what the
actual evidence in the case was. Evidence from the same
you know when she says this, she said the truth
and what the actual evidence.
Speaker 3 (03:09):
Let me say we back it up here. People don't
wait here we go.
Speaker 8 (03:12):
Most people don't really know the truth and what the
actual evidence in the case was.
Speaker 2 (03:16):
That's not true. I think most people know exactly what happened.
I think most people know more about that case than
cases that happened to their you know, family. I know,
I could name you probably eight hundred details on that case.
I think most people are aware of what happened.
Speaker 1 (03:32):
Evidence from the saying shows that there were white men there.
Speaker 5 (03:35):
Would it be possible that Jessie Smollett is actually easy?
Speaker 7 (03:39):
What kind of bizarro world are they living?
Speaker 4 (03:43):
I don't want to say it's suspicious, It seems sensational.
Speaker 8 (03:49):
Chicago police has a century long history of lying to
the public.
Speaker 2 (03:54):
Oh, so they're going to take jesse Smollett's side. It
looks like on this documentary.
Speaker 5 (03:59):
Well, I mean he's in it right, Maybe that was conditional?
Speaker 3 (04:02):
Wow, that is wild.
Speaker 6 (04:04):
It's just creening a distraction.
Speaker 7 (04:08):
What the is going on?
Speaker 9 (04:11):
That's the biggest question is who really can we trust?
Speaker 12 (04:17):
Wow?
Speaker 3 (04:20):
When is it gonna Is it on HBO or Netflix?
Speaker 5 (04:24):
Netflix?
Speaker 3 (04:24):
Next Friday? Netflix, next Friday? All right? That should be good,
That should be great. All right, we have we got
time for this show. We got time.
Speaker 2 (04:32):
We have a The LGBT Center in bell keeps finding
dog poop on its property.
Speaker 3 (04:41):
What's going on here?
Speaker 5 (04:43):
It's happening right up here, Yes, right up here.
Speaker 11 (04:45):
So you could actually see one of the poop bags
that must have got here overnight We're not.
Speaker 5 (04:49):
Talking one or two bags.
Speaker 11 (04:50):
We're talking there are over ten bags. And so that
was about I think that was the second time that
we did like a full sweep of the of the
AUNTI it was really bad yesterday. It was not a
pretty site whatsoever. I had to get up on the
ladder and go take it down.
Speaker 2 (05:06):
Tell me, oh, they're throwing it all over the place,
not just on the lawn but on the roof everywhere.
Speaker 1 (05:11):
Tell me what you guys have done in terms of
trying to figure out who it is.
Speaker 11 (05:15):
Yeah, So, I mean we've been checking cameras. We've been
like repositioning cameras to see if we could catch the
person that's doing it.
Speaker 9 (05:21):
It seems like this person or.
Speaker 11 (05:23):
People are aware of where the cameras are positioned though,
So that's just been making it a little bit hard.
Speaker 2 (05:28):
Who's doing this in twenty twenty five, you know, taking
their dog ass and throwing it at the LGBT.
Speaker 5 (05:34):
We know it's a dog.
Speaker 2 (05:36):
Oh yeah, maybe it's not. Maybe it's not. That's possible.
Is that better or works a lot worse?
Speaker 3 (05:41):
Not dog.
Speaker 13 (05:43):
There's a concern that you're being targeted because you're in LGBT.
Speaker 7 (05:46):
And resource center.
Speaker 5 (05:47):
What do you think about that?
Speaker 11 (05:48):
I just worry about like what if it does escalat
in the future. Like I said, this is a youth
of resource center. So we have clients coming in each day,
and I don't want them to feel like they're going
to get like harassed just we're coming to the center
or anything.
Speaker 5 (05:59):
You guys have been here work a couple of years.
Speaker 11 (06:01):
Yeah, so we've been doing work in the area for
a couple of years pre pandemic too. But we just
got this center about two years ago.
Speaker 3 (06:10):
And this is center in Bell in Yes, is that right?
It's the center in Bell, California.
Speaker 2 (06:16):
That's a tough pot in Bell you know. I mean,
if you're in Long Beach or West Hollywood, I think,
you know, people sort of behave, but Bell Is it's
going to be a tough run there.
Speaker 3 (06:27):
But where do you find this? Richie? Is this NBC? NBC?
Have you had you heard about this before?
Speaker 12 (06:34):
No?
Speaker 3 (06:34):
I was, you know, shocked, right, Yeah? Yeah?
Speaker 11 (06:37):
So actually this weekend is going to be our second
year anniversary of the center.
Speaker 5 (06:40):
Horrible celebrated right.
Speaker 11 (06:43):
At the same time. You know, this just proves why
we need to do the work we.
Speaker 3 (06:46):
Do, is that in the tape or was that somebody
on the show laughing at that?
Speaker 11 (06:49):
Right at the same time, you know, this just proves
why we need to do the work we do and
we're not going anywhere. We're going to still keep providing
resources and make sure that people are taken care of.
But it just really it just really sucks when we
see things like this, but the work.
Speaker 3 (07:03):
Still goes on.
Speaker 5 (07:03):
Tim Bill I become Madina NBC four.
Speaker 2 (07:06):
That's crazy, crazy people. All right, here's this just happens
to be a coincidence. I look this up the other day.
Let's do a whip around? You got the whip around music? Robin,
who's in for foosh? Here is the whip around? What percentage?
Speaker 3 (07:21):
All right?
Speaker 2 (07:22):
Krozer? Are you gonna play? Angel? Robin? Richie?
Speaker 3 (07:26):
Is Maddie with us? Or is he gone?
Speaker 11 (07:27):
Gone?
Speaker 3 (07:28):
He's gone? All right?
Speaker 2 (07:30):
So Robin is with us? Richie, Angel and Crozier? Okay, Rob, okay,
all right, here's the question. What percentage? What percentage you
got the I think Steph Fush hides that music?
Speaker 3 (07:49):
Did you find it? Robin?
Speaker 1 (07:52):
Oh?
Speaker 7 (07:52):
There's okay?
Speaker 2 (07:55):
What percentage of people who transition? All right, male to female,
female to male? What percentage are happier after they transition.
Speaker 3 (08:09):
Robin, let's start with you.
Speaker 2 (08:11):
What percentage of people transition are happier after they do?
Speaker 4 (08:18):
Eighty five?
Speaker 3 (08:19):
Eighty five? All right, Richie, I'm gonna say a good
seventy five, seventy five. Angel, I'm gonna say eighty.
Speaker 2 (08:32):
Eighty all right, Crozier, don't say zero, creature, what's wrong
with you?
Speaker 5 (08:36):
I'm gonna go big. I'm gonna go the other way.
Speaker 2 (08:38):
Ninety five ninety five, all right, Crosier winds, Oh, Crozier
winds ninety four percent. Oh, ninety four percent. That is huge,
thank you, Robin with the music fans. Ninety four percent.
That's unbelievable.
Speaker 3 (08:55):
That's huge. I'm surprised by that. Yeah, I don't think
i'd be in that.
Speaker 2 (09:00):
I think i'd be in the six percent to be like, oh,
this dress doesn't fit. I don't like the way my
boobs look. That part that Susan is such a bee
to me, you.
Speaker 3 (09:11):
Know, but looks big in those pans.
Speaker 13 (09:14):
I know.
Speaker 3 (09:14):
I get that out though. Hey, I get split ends.
Speaker 2 (09:17):
My hair is all frowsy, it's all burned out and huge. Plus,
why do I have to pay more for dry cleaning now?
You know, crazy, So I'm not the probably good candidate.
Lower pay, yeah right, lower pay and not a lot
of rights. You know, got to cook and clean more
now it sucks. So I'm not the guy to do this.
(09:39):
I think i'd be, I'd be in the six percent.
I think I wouldn't be the guy. So I'm gonna
I'm not going to lower that. I'm gonna I'm gonna
ride out this one. I got. Yeah, I got to
say with what you got, that's right. Although I will say,
you know, I gamble on horse racing, go to casinos
and way that. But man, these people gamble. These are
(10:04):
the real gamblers. These are my this is my crew.
I mean, you're gambling that you're gonna, you know, cut
off your you're wiener and be happier as a woman,
or add one and and.
Speaker 3 (10:18):
Lose the the top and be happier. That is a game.
Those are people are gamblers. I'm like a player.
Speaker 2 (10:26):
I'm like a two dollars window player compared to these people.
Speaker 13 (10:29):
Man, man, isn't there isn't there a term of that
for people that the gamblers that are just barely putting in.
Speaker 3 (10:36):
Yeah, they call them players. That's it.
Speaker 5 (10:38):
Yeah, players, are. That's that's a player.
Speaker 11 (10:40):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (10:40):
Because a gambler is gambling the rent money and you
know the mortgage.
Speaker 5 (10:46):
You are officially a gambler.
Speaker 2 (10:47):
Yeah, you're a gambler if it's making you know, radical
decisions at home based just dip your toes. Yeah, you're
just a weekend player, you know. That's what I am.
I'm just a player. But these gamblers are you know.
I've guys like that at the track. You know, they'll
they'll lose a car or you know, their home, and
those those are my heroes.
Speaker 5 (11:07):
That's see. I was gonna go the other way.
Speaker 13 (11:10):
No, no, no, no, that would be why I probably couldn't
go on a regular basis to to like the track,
to just see people just their emotional breakdown, know when
they just lost everything.
Speaker 2 (11:20):
Those are superman to me. I love those guys. Those
guys all have a great sense of humor, all of them.
All Right, we got to take a break here. President
Trump and President Putin have finished their agreements, all right,
their talks, I should say. And now it looks like
Donald Trump is about to leave Anchorage, and I think
Putin's leaving as well. It's got to be a bummer
(11:43):
for Putin to come onto a soil that they sold
to America for like two cents an acre, and then
deal with Donald Trump and the whole airplane.
Speaker 13 (11:52):
And then the pilot has to go to the front
of the plane and throw that prop to get the
plane going.
Speaker 2 (11:57):
Yeah, he's rolling around at old seven thirty. Evan Putin is,
but Trump's leaving right now. If you want to turn
on TV and watch Air Force one take off out
of Alaska, that's always a cool thing to watch.
Speaker 10 (12:09):
You're listening to Tim Conway Junior on demand from KFI
AM six forty.
Speaker 2 (12:16):
I was looking up a at the horses today in
del Mar. They're running Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, and
I noticed there was a horse running in the first
race called Daniels Magic. Is that the name of the horse, Yeah,
Daniels Magic. So I sent a text to my buddy
Malibu Dan, his name is Daniel, like, hey, Daniels Magic.
(12:38):
It's going off at eight to one, and put twenty
bucks on that to win. Go to that OTV in
Orange County. Put twenty to win on it. You'll get
back one hundred and eighty dollars. It'll pay eighteen to
win and you'll ten times eighteen, one hundred and eighty bucks.
And then he texts me back, He's like, oh, buddy,
can you put twenty on it for me? I'm like, ah,
I don't do that anymore. I don't do that anymore
(13:00):
because that ye'll y'll never see the twenty. You know,
it's gone. So I but it's true that I have
no more room on my account. You know, I can
only I can only bet a certain amount a week
on my account, and then they shut it down and
that's already gone for this week, so you're on your own. Anyway,
came in fifth, So he saved twenty bucks by not
(13:24):
betting on that horse, not betting on all right. Michelle
Obama is in the news. She's talking and giving free
advice to is it Malia and Sasha Those is her
daughter's names, Malia and Sasha something like that, giving him
my advice on dating. Maybe we can use some advice
like this.
Speaker 9 (13:42):
The thing that I did do was date a lot.
Speaker 14 (13:45):
Right, here's the advice Michelle Obama gives her two daughters
about finding love. The former First Lady gives her take
on the modern dating scene in a recent episode of
her I Amo podcast with brother Craig Robinson, revealing she
tells twenty seven year old Malia and twenty four year
old Sasha to stay open minded when it comes to
(14:05):
finding a partner. It's something she says she learned during
the early years of her relationship with former President Barack Obama.
Speaker 1 (14:13):
I just try to get them to stay open to people, right,
because my people, I just try to get them to
stay open to people, right, because my feeling is like,
the thing that I did do was date a lot.
Speaker 5 (14:31):
Right.
Speaker 2 (14:32):
Well, that's the second time she said that, right. A
lot of women won't say that.
Speaker 9 (14:37):
Feeling is like the thing that I did do was
date a lot.
Speaker 4 (14:40):
Right.
Speaker 3 (14:41):
That's like you croze, you know you dated a lot?
Didn't you date a lot?
Speaker 2 (14:45):
You say that you you feel say that all in
a lot of park cars.
Speaker 9 (14:50):
But what the thing that I did do was date
a lot?
Speaker 1 (14:55):
Right.
Speaker 3 (14:55):
I always have different stories about all these.
Speaker 5 (14:59):
Lot don't I hate on a man who's lived a life.
Speaker 3 (15:05):
That's okay.
Speaker 1 (15:06):
The thing that I did do was date a lot, right,
And so when Barack showed up, I had experiences to
compare him against, Like I knew a lot of mine.
Speaker 9 (15:18):
I didn't like this.
Speaker 14 (15:18):
I didn't like that, and Michelle says her and her
husband try to talk openly about their romantic history in
front of their daughters to hopefully teach them a thing
or two.
Speaker 9 (15:28):
Barack and I talk about you know, I don't know.
Speaker 2 (15:31):
I mean, I never give advice to anybody about dating.
But I think some of the happier couples I've ever
met are couples that knew each other like in seventh
grade and they're still together. You know, these long ass relationships.
Speaker 5 (15:44):
I'm always fascinated by people like that.
Speaker 3 (15:46):
Yeah, like they've only been with one person. You do
is like that? Is that comedian Nate Bargetzi.
Speaker 2 (15:51):
Oh yeah, he met his wife I think when they
were both in high school working at I don't know,
one of those chain restaurants.
Speaker 13 (15:59):
Sometimes, man, I think people just you get lucky, you
get you get it early, and you're like, you know
what you got and it works.
Speaker 2 (16:06):
And you have a lot of history. Yeah, a lot
of history, you know with the families too, like that.
You know that that that girl used to work here,
Aaron Benmo. She met her now husband I think in
grade school yea, or in junior high like that.
Speaker 5 (16:21):
Yeah, that's crazy to me.
Speaker 3 (16:23):
Yeah, it's just not experiences.
Speaker 2 (16:28):
And other people are going a blind date and they
fall in love and so there's no real.
Speaker 3 (16:33):
Rule book for it.
Speaker 5 (16:33):
Yeah, that's absolutely right.
Speaker 3 (16:35):
You know, you never know, you never know.
Speaker 2 (16:38):
And some people arrange marriages, you know, the parents will
arrange a marriage that you got to stick with and
that works with that. Yeah, it works beautifully for some people.
So I don't know about giving advice to.
Speaker 13 (16:48):
Me about just is it making you happy? Are you
are you? Do you feel fulfilled? Why you need to
move on?
Speaker 3 (16:54):
Then that's right.
Speaker 2 (16:55):
And but I will say this, the one thing that
I will get of you know, young people who are
dating advice is I you're not just dating the woman,
you're dating the family. And if you can get a
big extended family, another extended family into your orbit, that's
(17:16):
really cool.
Speaker 10 (17:16):
Yeah.
Speaker 13 (17:16):
My my issue, more more often than not, was the family.
And I got along far more than me and the.
Speaker 3 (17:22):
Groand oh yeah I was with you.
Speaker 2 (17:23):
But like my my my wife has a huge, huge family,
I mean hundreds of cousins and uncles and aunts and
grandparents and her great grandfather, great grandmother was alive for
the for the first few years we were dating. And
we have a picture of five generations. It was her
great grandmother, her grandmother, her mom, her and my daughter
(17:47):
and and uh and I love the the big, huge
family that she has up in Oregon. And and it's great.
That's one of the cool deals in hanging with her
big ass fan up in Oregon and all great people.
Speaker 3 (18:01):
You know, I'll just really cool. People say you got lucky,
very lucky. You're very lucky.
Speaker 1 (18:06):
Brock and I talk about our dating experiences, and you know,
so we try to sort of educate the girls by
sharing our experiences what didn't work. So my whole thing
is date and data.
Speaker 9 (18:19):
Date a lot.
Speaker 3 (18:20):
Wow, man, you never hear that, you know.
Speaker 2 (18:22):
Mom says, I get out there, move around, Yeah, shake
it up, start keeping.
Speaker 1 (18:27):
Score, date a lot, date a lot, fun, date a lot.
Speaker 3 (18:32):
And you know that's not my advice to my daughter.
You know, Yeah, I go out there and date a
million people.
Speaker 9 (18:38):
Date a lot.
Speaker 1 (18:40):
And you know, if you run into a bad date
or have a bad experience.
Speaker 3 (18:44):
You will.
Speaker 2 (18:44):
If you're dating a lot, you're going to have a
bad experience. A lot of them bad dat yeah right, yeah,
just the numbers game.
Speaker 1 (18:50):
Bad date or have a bad experience, move on quickly,
you know, don't stay around.
Speaker 9 (18:56):
It's like if it's not working, but.
Speaker 3 (18:58):
Next, oh what flat advice?
Speaker 5 (19:00):
You know?
Speaker 13 (19:00):
Yeah, if you're you know, like when you're dating someone
and you like it, they like it, and everything's going great,
You're gonna not date anymore just.
Speaker 3 (19:10):
For the sake of numbers. It's it's odd, and this
advice here at the end.
Speaker 1 (19:14):
Bad date or have a bad experience, move on, move on,
bad date or have a bad experience, move on quickly.
Speaker 2 (19:21):
Yeah, okay, well that's like everything in life. You know,
you go to a restaurant, you don't like the food,
don't go back by a car breaks down in time,
get a different car.
Speaker 3 (19:29):
It's a real flat advice. I mean it's sold like
it's a jewel. It's not. It's a three D house
of flat advice.
Speaker 13 (19:36):
I'm gonna tell you the secret of life from the
happiness and the relationship.
Speaker 3 (19:39):
You know, it's great when you're really thirsty cold water.
Speaker 10 (19:44):
You're listening to Tim Conway Junior on demand from KFI
AM six forty.
Speaker 2 (19:49):
Del Mar is in full swing right now. I just
talked to a buddy on the following about del Mar.
I want to go this weekend, but I got stuff
to do so won't be able to slide down there.
But let's check in with somebody who knows it was
down in del Mar. Devin Bowman is with us runs
the Grand Villas at del Mar.
Speaker 10 (20:09):
Devin, How you I am great.
Speaker 4 (20:11):
I'm so excited to be on your show.
Speaker 3 (20:16):
It sounds like Devon.
Speaker 4 (20:18):
Yeah. I have been listening to A six forty my
entire life and I love del Mar and Delmar Racing
more than anything in the world.
Speaker 3 (20:28):
Oh, that is fantastic.
Speaker 2 (20:30):
What h How far by the way, how far is
the Grand Villa is from del Mar?
Speaker 4 (20:35):
They are about five to ten minute drive and there
is a courtesy car available to the hotel as well.
Speaker 3 (20:42):
Wow.
Speaker 2 (20:42):
You know what, there are a lot of beautiful hotels
around del Mar and they you know, the prices are
obviously higher during the summer because of demand, but I
can't believe how beautiful. You know, when we used to
go to Delmar with my dad, the only hotel that was,
you know, near del Mar back then, was that Hilton
right on.
Speaker 4 (21:03):
Heights. You know what I'm talking about it, I said,
you know what's funny is that that was my very
first hotel job. I was a front desk agent.
Speaker 3 (21:10):
No way, is that right?
Speaker 9 (21:12):
Yeah, I've been.
Speaker 4 (21:13):
Wow in del Mar for the last twenty years. Okay,
I just love it here.
Speaker 2 (21:18):
Okay, so you remember, I mean that this is you know,
that was the you know what was great about it
is that was walking distance of the track. You got
up in the morning, you had breakfast at the Hilton
and just walked over the track. And then you know,
since then, in the last twenty years, there's been a
ton of places that have cropped up there and it's
it's just spectacular.
Speaker 4 (21:36):
Well. I worked at Laberge as well, which is also
very close to the track, but I don't think there's
anything like the Grand del Mar because we have a
three star Michelin restaurant, we have a five star spot.
Speaker 3 (21:47):
Wow.
Speaker 4 (21:48):
I mean, we really do everything we can to create
extraordinary experiences for our guests, and we love hosting racetrack people.
That is one of our favorite things to do. We
have some racetrack people in house right now, big time
Grade one horse owners. Okay, right now, So yeah, I
get excited. It's like spunning the celebrity for me.
Speaker 2 (22:09):
Devin, how far so? How far is the Grand Villas
from the track exactly?
Speaker 4 (22:14):
I would say, like a five to ten minute drive.
Speaker 2 (22:16):
Oh good, okay, all right, that's actually pretty cool, you know,
to get away from it at night, you know, if
you're at the Hilton or you know, there's a million
people going to drive by you every night, you know,
on the way out.
Speaker 3 (22:28):
I can't believe you worked at the Hilton. What years
did you work there?
Speaker 4 (22:31):
Let me see, I think like two thousand and nine
or maybe two thousand and eight.
Speaker 3 (22:35):
Did you check this in? We were there all the time?
Speaker 10 (22:37):
That was hard.
Speaker 4 (22:39):
Oh, I did a good job.
Speaker 3 (22:42):
It is really a look Delmar.
Speaker 2 (22:44):
If anyone is listening right now, is familiar with Saratoga.
Saratoga is what del Mar is to the East Coast.
But del Mar has the advantage of being close to
the ocean, so it's always yeah.
Speaker 4 (22:56):
Seven track with an ocean view, shack with an ocean view.
And I have been to like Keenland, Churchill, Arlington, Santa Anita,
and I just think Delmar is one of the prettiest
tracks in the world. And I think there's never a
bad day at the track. I mean, you get dressed
up right, you have something to eat, something to drink,
(23:16):
You win a little money, you lose a little money.
You can you know, you consider the picnic tables and
eat hot dogs, or you can go to the turf
club and have filet mignon, So you can make it
whatever you want. And I don't ever see anybody leaving
without a smile on their face, honestly, I.
Speaker 2 (23:33):
Know, which is amazing because most people walking out with
less money than they came with and they're still happy.
Speaker 1 (23:38):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (23:39):
You know what I tell people, I said, when you
bet on a race, think about it like paying for
a carnival ride. You're just making a race more exciting
for yourself. And if two dollars does it for you,
that's great. If one thousand dollars does it for you,
that's great too. But it makes the race just like
more exciting. And you know, I just I don't think
(24:00):
there's any you know, city prettier than del Mar's Steffie.
I mean, it's right by the beach. We have amazing restaurants.
Speaker 7 (24:10):
Yeah, we got a downtown.
Speaker 2 (24:11):
Downtown del Mar is spectacular now. It's got that little
mall there and it's got beautiful restaurants. It's just the
greatest place in the world is del Mar, California.
Speaker 4 (24:20):
I absolutely agree, And they will have to like, drag
me out of here. I can't imagine living anywhere else.
Speaker 3 (24:28):
So it's called the Grandville is a Delmar? How old
is this place?
Speaker 4 (24:31):
So the Grand del Mar was built by Doug Manchester
about fifteen years ago. So there's the hotel and then
what I manage are private residences that are about five
thousand square feet and three bedroom, four and a half
baths and they have a full kitchen. Oh but I
think the biggest advantage to the villas is that you
have a dedicated team. You have me. I'm available twenty
(24:53):
four hours. You need a private chef, I can do it.
Speaker 3 (24:56):
Wow, you need I'm down more.
Speaker 4 (24:59):
I can do it. Like you need a daily racing form,
I'll drive one.
Speaker 3 (25:02):
Over to you, okay.
Speaker 4 (25:05):
And our housekeepers have been with us for twelve years
and okay, you know, we just have an amazing team
and we love welcoming our guests, especially our horse racing guests.
Speaker 2 (25:16):
Do rich people call you at three o'clock in the
morning and ask for stuff?
Speaker 4 (25:22):
Yes, But you know what, I love my job and
I really extraordinary things and like really surprising people where
they're like, oh my god, you're awake.
Speaker 3 (25:34):
What's the website? I got to show people how beautiful
as places.
Speaker 4 (25:39):
Okay, it's villas at the Grandelmar dot com.
Speaker 3 (25:43):
At the Grant What is it?
Speaker 4 (25:44):
Villas villas at the Grandelmarta dot com at the Grand Villa.
Speaker 3 (25:49):
Okay, all right, people got to see it.
Speaker 2 (25:51):
It's spectacular, Devin, thank you for calling in and we'll
see at the track.
Speaker 4 (25:55):
So welcome and I can't wait for you to come
so we can host you and show you how it is.
I was so traffic okay, I was so excited to
talk to you. I missed the first post today, so oh.
Speaker 3 (26:09):
Good for you.
Speaker 2 (26:10):
Yeah, I would, I would come down with the traffic
is such a nightmare. You know it's four hours out
down there.
Speaker 4 (26:14):
Well, you can also take the train in our courtesy
car can pick you up at the Solana Beach.
Speaker 2 (26:19):
I'm I'm a basement guy at San Anita. You're not
looking for my type down there, all right, Devin, I
appreciate it.
Speaker 4 (26:26):
Thank you, oh, thank you so much for having me.
Speaker 2 (26:29):
Devin Bowman a huge race fan, and she's like like
the unofficial mayor of del Mar knows everybody down there's
been down there forever. Worked at the Hilton, and I
was working at the Grand villas down there.
Speaker 13 (26:42):
Even look, I mean not that you wouldn't anyways, but
that's a beautiful area right there. That's Salana Beach out
and I've gone there and stayed there. That there they
have a belly up tavern there where they have fantastic
live acts.
Speaker 2 (26:54):
And you know this, this Devin Bowman has invited me
and my family down there, and I just tell I
keep telling I, go, look, i am not going to
sit in traffic for four hours. Yeah, you know, I
love the place, but I'm going to go down in
November when it's a Breeders cup that you can slide
down there without the traffic. But you know, the song
goes where the surf meets the turf at Old del Mar.
(27:16):
Take a plane, take a train, take a car, don't
take a car. Don't take unless you're suicidal.
Speaker 10 (27:23):
You're listening to Tim Conway Junior on de Mayo from
KFI AM six forty man.
Speaker 2 (27:29):
What a week it's been with Steph Fush in his
old accident last Thursday, and we got to thank a
lot of people who really helped him out. Pete Willigren,
will Grin Wilgeron will Goren with KTLA Managing Director and
Content and Coverage Rick Chambers. Hey, he's swung by Esaday.
It was cool to meet him. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I've
(27:49):
never met that dude. He's he's a really cool guy.
Pete also Jose Hernandez, he's the photo journalist. Sandra Mitchell,
she came by as well, and also ABC News director
and uh tim blogger Bloget blog Get blood get photo
journalists came by and did that thing last night on
(28:12):
Channel seven with Mark Brown and we played that earlier.
Speaker 3 (28:15):
That was great.
Speaker 2 (28:17):
Barbara Myers who is Stephush's mom, Curtis Myers who is
Steph Fush's stepdad, and Ed who's Steph Fush's dad. Is
one of my favorite guys in the world. That's a
great guy. He is just a really cool dude. Got
to get the hook up with him more. But he's
got a million stories. And also Keyante Hubbard and Jonathan Garray.
Speaker 3 (28:41):
That's cool.
Speaker 2 (28:41):
He works at that KIPPERD bar Jonathan Garray. So go
down and get those ten meats in you that it's
called Yes KIPPERD ten meats all right, people are into that.
Come on, I bet you're dad ug My dad wasn't
a big fish guy, and I think I picked that
up from him, you know, I just it always tastes
(29:05):
like fishy to me. Yeah, but they they say it
that's bad fish. If it tastes fishy, it's bad, right,
you know. So I guess my mom and dad just
got crappy fish our whole life. I thought fish sticks, Well,
that's as close as I got the fish like fish sticks.
Speaker 7 (29:19):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (29:19):
I like fish and chips with a lot of a
lot of vinegar, a lot of lemon, a lot of salt.
Speaker 3 (29:24):
Yeah, you gotta really pile it on.
Speaker 5 (29:25):
Oh, we have fish and chips with vine like.
Speaker 3 (29:28):
People health nuts don't consider fish and chips healthy.
Speaker 13 (29:31):
I do that whole thing, like I think the Great
Shake and Steak and Shake or steak Fry or whatever
place that came out here. For the longest time, when
I came out of here, people did not know the
whole Vinegar on fries really.
Speaker 3 (29:44):
Oh my god, that's the best.
Speaker 5 (29:45):
Where I'm from DC, Maryland Boardwalk fries.
Speaker 2 (29:49):
And then up in Canada they put gravy on the fries,
which makes sense. It's potatoes and it's terrific. But vinegar
on anything is great, even on chicken. You know, if
you go to What Canes and get a vinegar with
that ingredient when I cook, me too, Me too. I
love vinteground everything, malt vinegar. I put on malt vinegron
almost anything everything I eat. Maybe it's why my system
(30:09):
so fed up. But there's a place up in Oregon
and in Washington called Burgerville. If people are from that area,
they know what I'm talking about, and they have the
best fish and chips ever. Fish and chips at Burgerville
fast food fish and chips. You know, it's not the greatest,
but for fast food, it's spectacular, spectacular.
Speaker 3 (30:33):
All right, Let's talk about Paul Rodriguez.
Speaker 2 (30:35):
He was in Burbank again buzzing around and got picked
up again.
Speaker 12 (30:40):
Mecter and comedian Paul Rodriguez is in trouble with the
law once again. Rodriguez was arrested after leaving a restaurant
in downtown Burbank. He was found in his car with narcotics,
sayle East. This is the second time Rodriguez has been
arrested in Burbank.
Speaker 2 (30:54):
In Burbank twice with the narcotics. That's a strong you know,
I guess a positive message for people.
Speaker 3 (31:04):
They really love Burbank.
Speaker 2 (31:05):
You know, it doesn't matter what they're doing in their car,
they'll risk at all to come to Burbank and enjoy themselves.
Speaker 7 (31:10):
For possession of narcotics.
Speaker 12 (31:11):
Just this year, a woman who was with the comedian
was also arrested. He was released with a citation and
is expected to appear in court on September fifth. A
seventy year old, is best known for his roles in
the films Blood Work and Tortilla Suit.
Speaker 2 (31:24):
You got to give him that. You know, if you're
seventy and older, you should be able to do whatever
you want. You've made it to seventy. You know, if
you want to do coke, crack, you want to do pills, smoke, weed,
got it all. Yeah, you want to mainline whatever you
want to do after seventy, you should be get a
free bride.
Speaker 3 (31:43):
Yeah, and do it in Burbank. Yeah, do it in Burbank.
It's a great place to hang. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (31:46):
Cops are tough in Burbank though. There's a lot of
them and they don't f around.
Speaker 3 (31:50):
Not when you're seventy. They stepped you real quick, man.
Speaker 2 (31:53):
But there's two people I think that should be able
to do with drugs at will. Seventy and above, and
anybody who's inn a mascot outfit, you know guys michelin
Man or he's the you know, the dig Dog or
whatever you know at Universal Studios, whatever character he's playing.
Speaker 3 (32:11):
Those people should be able.
Speaker 2 (32:12):
To be on whatever they want, you know, in a
hot costume all day with kids pulling on him.
Speaker 3 (32:19):
They should be able to, you know, literally.
Speaker 2 (32:21):
Do cocaine or poppers or crack or crank or weed
whatever they want. Those two people I give passes to,
total passes to.
Speaker 3 (32:31):
All Right, we gotta take a break here, we'll come back.
Speaker 2 (32:33):
