Tim Cates is in studio to celebrate with Conway Jr that their beloved Dodgers have now taken the lead! We continue to update on the Burbank Airport situation with no air traffic controllers, with Tim noting that the website departure information is not updating the delays. Is it due to a “sick-out” or delayed payments due to the federal government shutdown? We continue to cover the flight delays out of Burbank Airport, with some flights running as much as four hours behind schedule.

Speaker 1 (00:00):
It's KFI AM sixty and you're listening to The Conway
Show on demand on the iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 2 (00:09):
KFI AM six forty. It's Conway Show.

Speaker 1 (00:11):
Tim Kats here, the voice of your Los Angeles Dodgers.

Speaker 2 (00:15):
We had an update, a really a good update.

Speaker 3 (00:19):
Huge Conway. It's a big one here.

Speaker 2 (00:21):
All right? What do we got?

Speaker 3 (00:22):
And what was a pitchers duel? For this first six
plus innings? The Dodgers have now taken the lead. Yes,
Will Smith with a two run single, Dodgers up three
to nothing.

Speaker 2 (00:33):
Oh that's great, all right. So where there's a Will,
there's a way a way. Yeah, wait, it was zero zero?
Be was it? Three runs at scort?

Speaker 4 (00:41):
On them?

Speaker 3 (00:41):
Two runs on the base hit there? They had a
run on a weird play, a broken bat infield fielder's choice.
The Teoscar Hernandez slid into home and beat the throw. Okay,
it was an ugly play, but you get a run
for it, right, excellent. They're not done. They got some
guy named shoe Hey o Tani up to bat right now.

Speaker 1 (00:57):
And this is the top of the seventh inning. If
show Hey hits this out, this game could be over.
Oh three nothing with Snell Zilla.

Speaker 2 (01:05):
On the mound. Yeah, is he still pitching a one hitter?

Speaker 3 (01:07):
He's still pitching a one hitter. But he's at about
one hundred pitches. So we'll see if he goes back
out for the bottom of the seventh. But all right,
I think this show hel tiny guy might stick around
for a while. He's pretty good out here.

Speaker 2 (01:17):
I like this guy.

Speaker 1 (01:18):
It's one it's three nothing Dodgers, and it's gonna be
four nothing.

Speaker 3 (01:23):
Yeah, this guy show hey, unbelievable.

Speaker 1 (01:25):
All right, So month see Max Monday scores. I know,
I know it's not Max Monday. But David Vessey was
doing Dodger talk and a drunk woman called up. She goes,
I love Conway and I love Max Monday.

Speaker 3 (01:39):
Look at all those those Philly fans sitting down. I
don't see those towels being away right now.

Speaker 1 (01:44):
It's a long weekend in Philly. You have the Dodgers
beat the Phillies. On Saturday, Denver beats the undefeated Eagles
in Philly.

Speaker 3 (01:53):
In Philly, the Dodgers had to change their workout schedule
yesterday because the parks are right near each other.

Speaker 2 (01:58):
Oh is that right?

Speaker 3 (01:59):
And so the game was happened and they had to
wait until the Eagles game was basically over and the
crowded started league so they can get to the stadium to.

Speaker 2 (02:05):
Do their workout. That's great.

Speaker 3 (02:07):
This is four nights in the seventh inning, three of
which come with two outs.

Speaker 1 (02:12):
And we were the last time we were all in
the Dodgers studios just in there during the break was
the Yankees Dodgers World Series last year, October thirtieth, Game five,
Game five, magical fifth inning with the Bamboos stick. That's right,
magical fifth inning in which Aaron Judge dropped the line
drive in center field, and at that point we gripped

(02:32):
that bamboos stick so hard and nobody let go. All right,
So this game inding's going to be over, Okay, all right,
the top of the inning's over. So the af Phillies
have three at bats left. We're nine outs away from
a commanding two nothing lead coming back to LA which.

Speaker 3 (02:48):
Is huge because the numbers showed that like ninety percent
of the teams that go up two to zero in
a best of five series, especially if you went on
the road, go on away in the series.

Speaker 4 (02:56):
Yew.

Speaker 1 (02:56):
I mean, look, if if you win two in Philly
and you're coming back for two. It's it's right, are
they gonna go back for game five into Philly if
it goes high.

Speaker 3 (03:04):
If it goes five, it goes back to Philly on Saturday, Wednesday, Thursday.
Here if they need a game four on Thursday, potential
game five on Saturday.

Speaker 2 (03:12):
But this is huge, Conway, it's Hue.

Speaker 3 (03:14):
You got to Sanchez on Saturday, their ace and their
stud who might win the cy young with this war
order this year or finished second and now you get
to their second guy, which is pretty impressive as well.

Speaker 1 (03:24):
Okay, and I thought that Sanchez story was gonna be
the biggest over the weekend.

Speaker 2 (03:27):
Not even close. Mark Sanchez was the big story.

Speaker 3 (03:31):
Yeah, I thought we were gonna stay away from that.

Speaker 2 (03:39):
Kates three nothing, four nothing, Dodge.

Speaker 3 (03:41):
Four nothing, Dodgers.

Speaker 4 (03:42):
Let's go.

Speaker 3 (03:43):
Okay, during your next break, come on over Getna field.
That bamboostick again the.

Speaker 1 (03:46):
Best tim Kate's over there at five seventy am. And
they're they're station is literally next door, so I could
hear them screaming next door when the Dodgers scored, and
it that's and that's the studio I was in last
October thirtieth when the Dodgers laid five on the Yankees,
five unearned runs to beat the Yankees on October thirtieth

(04:09):
to win the World Series, and I could hear them
screaming in the I mean literally, we share a wall.
If you drill through that wall, which is only by
I don't know four inches thick, you literally would be
in the Dodger studio. On either side they have, Dodgers
have the you know, both sides of our studio. They
bookend us, it goes Dodgers KFI then Dodgers, and I

(04:31):
could hear those guys screaming in there, so I knew
that the Dodgers did well.

Speaker 2 (04:34):
All right, it's four nothing Dodgers for nothing. Sorry.

Speaker 1 (04:38):
If you're recording the game, but on the playoffs, if
you're not watching it live, then you've got to avoid radio, Internet,
texting friends, you know, being out in public. You got
to avoid a lot of stuff if you're recording the
game and you got to get home and watch it.

Speaker 2 (04:52):
So don't blame me, you know, f you, it's on you.

Speaker 1 (04:55):
If you if you're taping the game and you don't
want to score, then you're listening to the wrong show.

Speaker 2 (04:59):
Listening the run show all right, that is huge. That's
huge news.

Speaker 1 (05:03):
The Dodgers could go up to nothing coming back to
Dodger Stadium. Tomorrow'll be an off day. I think they
pick it up on Wednesday and Thursday Dodger Stadium. So
this is a big, big ass story. The second big
story is Burbank Airport, and that's another major story where
there's no traffic control, where there's nobody in the control

(05:27):
tower at Burbank. We have a five h five update
here from Conan Nolan over there at NBC News. Let's
find out what's going on and who he's blaming. Yeah,
I think a wild guess here.

Speaker 5 (05:40):
We've had some cancelations.

Speaker 6 (05:42):
Everything leaving Burbank Airport has been delayed by about three hours.
Everything arriving has been delayed about three hours. We're not
sure if they're going to be able to find enough
air traffic controllers.

Speaker 1 (05:52):
Take okay, if everything leaving and arriving has been delayed
for three hours, then the Burbank Airport's website is wrong
because they have Alaska Airlines. I'm looking at Alaska Airlines
right now. The FedEx plane is due to go off
at seven to ten, and it's not delayed at all

(06:13):
Jet X is not delayed. And also I mean, is
it jet X. I think that's the name of that
semi private airline, Jet Sweet Yeah, jetsweet yeah, jet Sweet X. Well,
they have an Oakland flight, a Vegas flight, and another
Vegas flight. They got two Vegas flights and they are

(06:35):
they're going on time. They don't give a red says
they're taken off. And then you have Alaska Airlines And
I'm showing at six pm, so in forty five minutes
from now, I'm showing Alaska Airlines is going to take
off and they have not changed their departure time. And
I'm also looking at United Airlines and they're going to
take off at six thirty. They have not changed their

(06:55):
departure time. FedEx which will be going to Memphis, they
are going to leave at seven to ten. They don't
give a red says they're taking off. They got packages
to deliver. UPS going to go to Louisville, Kentucky at
seven fifteen. They're going those packages have got to get there.
The Alaska Airlines seven thirty eight to Seattle, that is

(07:16):
on time.

Speaker 2 (07:17):
There's been no changes.

Speaker 1 (07:18):
So Alaska Airlines, UPS, Jetsweet X, and USPS, United Parcel Service, FedEx,
Alaska Airlines and JetSuite are saying no, nay never, we
don't care. We're going soo's United Airlines. So it looks
like just Southwest is the only one affected by Jet

(07:39):
Blue is on time. The nine o'clock Jet Blue in
New York is not showing a delayed in departure. So
I don't know where that information is coming from. Maybe
Conan Nolan has some information there that they're leading off
the Burbank Airport Bob Hope website, But it looks like
there are some flights going to take off out of Burbank.

Speaker 6 (08:01):
Everything arriving has been delayed about three hours. We're not
sure if they're going to be able to find enough
air traffic controllers to get to this tower by ten
o'clock to night, but what we understand it may be
several hours before any of these flights can take off
again or land, and you may see plenty more cancelations.

Speaker 5 (08:20):
Now picture to show you, of course.

Speaker 6 (08:22):
Of what it looked like here at Bob Hollywood Burbank Airport. Again,
no announcement was made. We believe this is a result
of a sick out. As a result of the of
the federal government shut down.

Speaker 1 (08:35):
These are okay, well, if it's a sick out, then
those guys should all be fired. If it's a sick
out and and they're going to and we shut this
down and they're going to delay you know, these flights,
that's that's BS. I mean that that really is horrible.
If that is indeed the real reason.

Speaker 6 (08:53):
Federal government shutdown. These employees have been told to show
up to work, but you're not being paid. They would
be paid later after the government resumes work and we
reopen whenever. That is the Secretary of Transportation Sean Duffy
earlier today in Washington, d C. Held a news conference
where he told individuals and the traveling public to beware

(09:14):
there will be delays because of things like this.

Speaker 7 (09:18):
We're tracking sick calls, sick leave and have we had
a slight tick up in sick calls, yes, and then
you'll see delays that come from that. Right because again,
our priority again, I want to see your flight not
be delayed. I don't want you, I don't want you canceled.
But our priorities are safety. And so if we have
additional sick calls, we will reduce the flow consistent with

(09:41):
a rate that's safe for the American people.

Speaker 6 (09:44):
Governor Gavin Newsom's sending out a post on x saying
congratulations to the federal government and to the Republican administration
of Washington for shutting down this airport for the time
being and putting the safety of the American public in jeopardy.

Speaker 1 (09:58):
Okay, so it a or is it the government shutdown
that's doing it? So far, we have two stories in
this one piece with Conanlan. It's a sick out and
or it's the government shutdown.

Speaker 6 (10:12):
Keep this in mind that it's not just up until
the last time this happened in twenty eighteen, it was
it was TSA workers who about twenty days into that
shutdown started calling in sick.

Speaker 5 (10:26):
End Mass.

Speaker 6 (10:27):
It didn't close down airports, but it made the security
line extremely long and delayed flights. This is the first
time we've actually seen air traffic controllers call in sick
before the TSA members do, and it represents the weakest
link in this entire federal government shutdown. There's a lot
of things that the public can do without, frankly, because

(10:48):
they don't have a daily interaction with much of the
federal government, but they do when it comes to transportation
and air traffic controllers and whether or not their flight's
going to be on time, arrive, or even take off.

Speaker 5 (11:00):
That's the question here at Hollywood Burbank Airport.

Speaker 6 (11:02):
We'll keep your posted reporting live from Hollywood Plan Airport.

Speaker 5 (11:05):
I'm coming to note on NBC four News.

Speaker 1 (11:06):
All right, So I don't know whether it's a sick
out or it's a government shutdown, but there's gonna be
some delays. We come back, we'll talk more about it
Burbank Airport. If you're leaving out of Burbank Airport, I
know you're nervous, don't be. You'll you'll eventually get to
where you're going and we will come back and tell
you and calm your nurse. We're live on KFI AM

Speaker 2 (12:03):
All right.

Speaker 1 (12:04):
So we just heard from Conan Nolan over at NBC News,
and at the top of his report he said he
I think he said all flights are delayed or canceled.

Speaker 5 (12:14):
We've had some cancelations.

Speaker 6 (12:15):
Everything leaving Burbank Airport has been delayed by about three hours.

Speaker 1 (12:19):
Okay, Everything leaving Burbank has been delayed by three hours.

Speaker 6 (12:23):
Everything leaving Burbank Airport has been delayed by about three hours.

Speaker 2 (12:27):
Okay.

Speaker 1 (12:28):
I'm looking at Burbank Airport departures and I'm looking at
a lot of departures that are still scheduled. You've got
a six thirty, times it five thirty. You have a
six thirty. United Airlines is scheduled. United Airlines delayed to

(12:50):
San Francisco, but scheduled to leave for Denver, and they
have not changed the time. It looks like it is
on time, and then we have delayed, delayed, scheduled Alaska
Airlines at seven thirty eight. Spirit Airlines has been delayed.
Southwest has been delayed. They canceled the southwest to Las

(13:14):
Vegas at seven point thirty. You have to figure out
how to get there. Maybe you could drive in the
time that they put this airport back together. Alaska Airlines
scheduled to leave Seattle for Seattle at seven thirty eight
is now scheduled four seven thirty eight, no changes.

Speaker 2 (13:28):
Gate B five.

Speaker 1 (13:31):
Then you have canceled Oakland. Southwest to Oakland's been canceled.
Southwest of Sacramento has been canceled at seven fifty five.
And this is all because the air traffic controllers in
the tower or the ground control had called in sick
and or they don't like not being paid and they're

(13:54):
not showing up to work. Okay, So let's see what
else is going out, because if you are going to
Burbank Airport right now, and you know, it might be
difficult to get to the airlines because everyone's calling the
airlines right now. United Airlines scheduled for eight oh eight
to San Francisco is scheduled for eight oh eight they're leaving.

Speaker 2 (14:13):
Let's see if the ups.

Speaker 1 (14:14):
And Avello Airlines scheduled for five point fifty two has
been delayed, but not long, just a six oh seven,
so only about a fifteen minute delay in that flight
to Eureka, Canada, Eureka, California. But it does look like

(14:35):
everything else is either you know, been canceled or delayed.
But there are some flights that are going to take off.
So you've got to make sure if you're on a
Vellow Airlines or Alaska or United, that you're still going
to the airport or making other plans, because if you
don't show up for the flight and does take off,

(14:56):
it's hard to get your money back. And American Airlines
has delayed to San Francisco at seven thirteen, and all
these other ones are either delayed or canceled. But there
are some flights still at least for now, scheduled to
take off.

Speaker 2 (15:15):
All right, it's a mess. It's a mess out there.

Speaker 1 (15:16):
But let me replay this again, this Conan Nolan piece,
or at least some of it here in the top,
and see what we know.

Speaker 5 (15:22):
We've had some cancelations.

Speaker 6 (15:23):
Everything leaving Burbank Airport has been delayed, by about three hours.
Everything arriving has been delayed about three hours. We're not
sure if they're going to be able to find enough
air traffic controllers to get to this tower by ten
o'clock tonight, but what we understand it may be several
hours before any of these flights can take off again
or land, and you may see plenty more cancelations.

Speaker 5 (15:47):
Now picture to show you, of.

Speaker 6 (15:48):
Course, of what it looked like here at Bob Hollywood
Burbank Airport.

Speaker 5 (15:52):
Again, no announcement was made. We believe this.

Speaker 1 (15:55):
There should have been announcement made, and there should be
somebody from the airport, you know, addressing all these reporters.
But it's live. It's now on channel eleven. There are
no air traffic controllers over Burbank Airport.

Speaker 2 (16:07):
Let's go to eleven real quick.

Speaker 1 (16:08):
Before we take a break here, miss Sam, they're going
to do a live shot here as a matter of fact.
Let's record that. We'll come back and do it all right,
we're live on KFI. We'll come back and tell you
about the Burbank Airport. The Dodgers are up for nothing
in the eighth inning, bottom of the eighth with one out,
So that's looking good as well. So Burbank Airport not
so good. Dodgers very good. We're live on KFI.

Speaker 8 (16:31):
You're listening to Tim Conway Junior on demand from KFI
AM six forty.

Speaker 1 (16:38):
KFI AM six fort It's Conway Show. Dodger Update. Dodgers
for Phillies one in the bottom of the eighth inning,
and they were having some problems with the they call PitchCom,
with the equipment that the pitcher and catcher can talk
to each other or at least listen to each other,

(17:00):
and that's taking care of. So back to the game
and it's two outs, bottom of the eighth inning. Man
on first for the Phillies. Four to one Dodgers, and
it's always very tense when you get late in the innings,
late in the game. Oh boy, all right, So keep

(17:21):
an eye on that. We'll keep you certainly updated on
the Dodgers up four to one against the Phillies and
the best of five. Dodgers won the first game on Saturday.
If they win tonight, they'll be up to nothing. Coming
back to Dodgers Stadium Wednesday and Thursday, and hopefully they
can pull this game out. And then we got Burbank

(17:44):
Airport Burbank Airport and the delays going on out there.
We just channeled eleven just had a live report out there,
So let's find out from Channel eleven sister station what's
going on at Burbank Airport.

Speaker 9 (17:59):
Delays They are loading up here, piling up big time.
More than eighty flights already hit with delays, some six
or so already canceled, and those numbers all expected to
go up. Joe, take us right into it. The main
terminal here, Burbank Airport, the terminal, the tower up there,
and yes, no air traffic controllers here. Started around four
point fifteen, as you know, the government shut down day six.
The air traffic controllers still have to work. Thing is

(18:21):
they're not getting paid, and according to the FEDS, there
was a sickle to cross the line, so it stretched
out the system of air traffic controllers, and Burbank Airport
here really feeling it.

Speaker 5 (18:30):
To the video we got.

Speaker 9 (18:31):
It's controllers from the San Diego area. But still it's
meant dozens and dozens of delays because safety continues to
be a primary issue here. We're told that they're trying
to call in the FEDS are trying to call in
some air traffic controllers to get them here ahead of time.
But they're thinking the best guests now might be ten
o'clock tonight. So we're talking about perhaps no controllers here
until ten tonight, which means you're going to have continued

(18:52):
flight delays, flight cancelations. And talking to someone who just
left the terminal was saying, you look at all the boards,
especially for the departures, there're all saying delayed, delayed, delayed,
all the flights. A real nightmare here. The offense we're
talking about it, particularly Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy earlier.

Speaker 7 (19:09):
Listen to him, is our airspace on safe no right.
If we think there's issues in the airspace, we will
shut it down. We will close it down, we will delay.
But again it's creating a ripple effect for our controllers.

Speaker 2 (19:24):
I'm here to advocate for the end to the shutdown.

Speaker 10 (19:28):
We need to bring this shut down to a close
so that the Federal Aviation Administration and the committed aviation
safety professionals can put this distraction and focus, put this
distraction behind us and completely focus on their vital work.

Speaker 5 (19:42):
And so now live.

Speaker 9 (19:43):
The best information we're getting here from the airport is
they're telling everybody to check with their flights with their
airlines to see about those delays. But again they're running
anywhere maybe about an hour to two and a half
to three hours. The system may start moving again when
they get some of the air traffic controllers in here,
maybe around ten o'clock, but then you have that backlog.
We all know know how that works. So I think
a lot of frustration here. Christina's everybody tries to work

(20:04):
this out through, but again the delays really mounting. Luckily,
some of these folks were some of the folks who
are leaving the airport now, the terminal they just got
in maybe some of the last flights before the delays
started to hit. Interestingly, we've been here for a few
minutes now and usually you see one or two flights
taking off here heading off toward the west. It's been quiet,
eerily quiet when it comes to air travel here at Burbank.

Speaker 2 (20:24):
Airport, Okay.

Speaker 1 (20:25):
So here's the latest so far, delays or cancelations on
most flights, but there are some flights that are still scheduled.
Alaska Airlines to Portland, Oregon, at six o'clock in twenty
minutes from now is still saying it's scheduled at six o'clock.

(20:47):
So I'm curious as to why it says that Avello
Airlines flying to Eureka, California, scheduled at five point fifty two.
Now at six oh seven, that is still on time,
and so you might see a plane or two take off.
Alaska just canceled the boat or just delayed, I should say,
the Boise, Idaho flight six thirteen, it's now scheduled for

(21:11):
ten to seven. And then there's delayed, delayed, canceled, delayed, canceled,
canceled for the rest of the flights almost yeah, the
entire day.

Speaker 2 (21:23):
So there's just two flights.

Speaker 1 (21:25):
Maybe Alaska Airlines hasn't gotten around to cancel them or
delay them. But it still looks like the flight to Portland,
the flight eleven oh seven Portland, Oregon acclording, according to
Burbank's website, is still scheduled for six o'clock, and I
find that unusual.

Speaker 2 (21:43):
It might just be a mistake. Let me update this
and see.

Speaker 1 (21:46):
Let me go here to six o'clock and see if
they have delayed Alaska Airlines to Seattle. Let's go to
six o'clock here. Okay, they just that flight has Okay,
that flight was scheduled for six o'clock, and I can't tell.

(22:09):
I can't tell whether that has been delayed or not.
But it looks like a ninety five percent of the
planes leaving and coming into Burbank either have been canceled
or delayed. So if you're leaving out of Burbank Airport,
you have got to contact your airline because you don't
want your flight to take off and you thought it

(22:29):
was canceled or delayed, and then you could tough to
get your money back.

Speaker 3 (22:32):
All right, LAPD.

Speaker 1 (22:34):
There's a shooting in downtown Los Angeles. While this whole
Burbank Airport thing was going on, there was a shooting
in downtown Los Angeles. We're keeping eye on that. The
Dodgers and the Phillies game. They're in the ninth inning,
Dodgers for Phillies one top of the ninth inning. Nobody
on Max Munsey coming to bat one out, and we'll
keep an eye on that one as well.

Speaker 2 (22:54):
Lots going on.

Speaker 1 (22:55):
Got to keep it on KFI AM six forty, KFI
AM six forty. It's show Burbank Airport. Everything is delayed
or canceled. Yeah, the air traffic controllers either walked out,
sick out and we're tired of working for no money whatever.
They're not manning their stations. And there are probably close

(23:16):
to one hundred flights that have been affected, and not
just departures but arrivals as well, and so I guess
life goes on. But it's weird though, because the six
thirty United Airline flight to Denver is still scheduled at
six thirty pm. They've not changed that. And there's another couple.

(23:39):
The Seattle flight at seven thirty eight on Alaska Airline
still shows it's scheduled at seven thirty eight. So either
they're very optimistic they're going to get some air traffic
controllers in there, or they're just gonna free ball it and.

Speaker 2 (23:55):
Take off anyway. I don't know if that's what they
call it.

Speaker 1 (23:58):
You know, in the control time, we're gonna free ball it,
But I don't know if i'd be comfortable with my
pilot using that term. Either uh yeah, we're right next
to takeoff. There's no control tower or nobody in the
power control tower. You're just gonna kind of free ball this,
So sit back and enjoy yourself. First, PEPSI or cocazanas

(24:19):
and sit back.

Speaker 2 (24:20):
You'll enjoy this play.

Speaker 1 (24:22):
Thank you.

Speaker 5 (24:23):
One dude the back whoa.

Speaker 2 (24:26):
Yeah, singing a tank top?

Speaker 1 (24:28):
Yes, times go all right, Dodgers for Phillies one, two
outs in the top of the ninth. Man on first
for the Dodgers, Man on second months he hit a
double and show Hey Otani.

Speaker 2 (24:48):
At bat and I kinda watched it.

Speaker 1 (24:54):
Sorry, I know there's a lot going on, but a
huge Dodger fan, and I'm that you are as well,
and I know you're either watching it or listening to it.
But let's find out what show Aotani does here?

Speaker 2 (25:10):
All right?

Speaker 1 (25:10):
Two strikes, so it's one and two, one and two,
show Aotani and we'll get an update on them.

Speaker 2 (25:18):
All right. There's other news going around.

Speaker 1 (25:20):
The shooting in downtown Los Angeles happened around three o'clock.
And it never ends. It just never ends. We've got
just unbelievable amount of news always in Los Angeles, especially Yeah, downtown,
seems like a lot going on down there.

Speaker 4 (25:36):
Shooting happened just a short time ago.

Speaker 11 (25:39):
LAPDS Central Division officers responding to a shooting in progress here.
This is going to be Fifth and Main Street. Also,
there's another shooting scene at Fourth and Spring.

Speaker 1 (25:49):
Now, okay, two shooting scenes, two locations in downtown LA
where they're shootings. People are shooting people downtown two.

Speaker 11 (25:58):
At this is going to be Fifth and Main Street. Also,
there's another shooting scene at Fourth and Spring. Now, we
believe that these two shootings are connected. We know that
the suspect is in custody, but unfortunately it pears that
one person has died as a result of this shooting.
I'm not going to go in tight to show you
over across on Spring Street here at Fourth this is

(26:20):
where the other shooting occurred, and we believe they are related.
LAPD and Fire Department on scene investigating or starting their investigation.

Speaker 4 (26:29):
At this point, two people have been shot.

Speaker 11 (26:32):
One we understand is conscious of breathing, and unfortunately the
other one has it looks like has died at the
scene here. So we'll stay overhead and bringing the very
latest as this story develops.

Speaker 4 (26:41):
This is Gillay us up in sky five. US.

Speaker 1 (26:43):
Man, we throw a lot at you living in LA.
You get a lot thrown at you.

Speaker 4 (26:47):
Man.

Speaker 2 (26:48):
All right.

Speaker 1 (26:48):
Two shooting incidents downtown LA, Fifth and Main, Fourth and Spring.
Those areas are fairly close to one another. So it
might be the same incident shooting people or cops shooting
and a guy with a gun, and we'll have more
on that as it develops. Show Aotani struck out, checks

(27:09):
Wing strikeout. So we go to the bottom of the ninth,
Dodgers up four to one.

Speaker 2 (27:15):
It will be.

Speaker 1 (27:16):
A tremendous victory if the Dodgers can hold on here,
and a tremendous loss if they don't, almost a like
a series changing loss if they blow this.

Speaker 2 (27:31):
So we'll see.

Speaker 1 (27:32):
We'll see Dodgers up by three going to the bottom
of the ninth following the LAPD shooting. And the big
story here is the Burbank Airport. The controllers have left
the building, either a sick out or they were tired
of working and not getting paid. They're making a statement
whatever it is. There are no planes leaving Burbank or
arriving in Burbank, except that Alaska Airlines has either not

(27:57):
updated their website or they are going to take off,
and they've got a flight scheduled the Seattle at seven
thirty eight. It's still scheduled for seven thirty eight. United
Airlines has a flight at going to Denver at six thirty.
That's still scheduled for six thirty. And then a Vellow Airlines.

(28:17):
It's supposed to leave at six oh seven, so you
might see a Velo Airlines take off at six oh seven.
That would be odd, it would be odd. Schedule for
five point fifty two. Now at six oh seven, and
we'll see, well, that plane takes off and says, screw it,
we're gonna free ball and go.

Speaker 2 (28:33):
We're going.

Speaker 1 (28:34):
People have to get to Eureka, get you know, California,
they got to get there. All the people down here
from Eureka have got to get back to Eureka on this,
you know, Vlow Airlines. All right, busy day here in
southern California. A lot going on. We are covering all
of it, including that stupid dinosaur that's back in bel
air for some reason. That was a big story and

(28:56):
I can't figure it out. I just can't figure it out.
And then the there's also another story that's not getting
a lot of attention. But they say there might be
a thousand people stuck on Mount Everest because of the storms.
It's certainly hundreds, but there might be one thousand people
in a snowstorm that is trapped all these people at

(29:18):
the base of Mount Everest and so when come back,
we'll talk about that as well. All Right, lots going on.
The Dodgers are up four to one. By the end
of I don't know, maybe the middle of next segment,
we will know whether the Dodgers have beat the Phillies,
they're going into extra innings, or they lost. We will
have an update for you when we come back. We're
