Speaker 1 (00:00):
It's CAMF I AM six forty and you're listening to
The Conway Show on demand on the iHeartRadio app CAMF
I AM sixty. It is The Conway Show. All right,
ding dong, everybody, ding dong. If you are keeping track,
you have a racing program, Scratch, Angel Martinez late scratch

(00:23):
and put in who's.

Speaker 2 (00:24):
Doing traffic today?

Speaker 1 (00:26):
Randy Fuller and then Scratch Krozier and add Andrew Caravella.

Speaker 2 (00:32):
You go by Andy or Andrew publicly? Andrew? What about privately?
Just family? You go?

Speaker 1 (00:40):
Only family can call you Andy. Yeah, welcome to the family. Okay,
all right, but I've got to tell everybody here. I
just learned this, and I hope, I hope you already know.
But it's tradition in Major League Baseball when you win
a championship, they give out the rings on the very

(01:02):
first home game. Okay, that's a Dodger game tomorrow. But
I think it's because of ESPN. I think that's gonna
be the game, the Thursday game of the week, and ESPN,
I don't think wanted, you know, forty five minutes of
guys getting rings and speeches and stuff, so they put
it off until Friday. So if you're going to Friday's

(01:23):
Dodger game, touchdown, touchdown, you're gonna see the ring ceremony.
And how often do you see a ring ceremony? Did
you just say touchdown for a baseball? Touchdown? Okay, let's right, touchdown,
all right? How often do you see a ring ceremony? Well,
i'll tell you last time you probably saw one nineteen

(01:44):
eighty nine. I know the Dodgers won in twenty twenty,
but I don't know if that ring ceremony was public
the next year because of COVID.

Speaker 2 (01:51):
I'd have to look that up. I don't know.

Speaker 1 (01:54):
But the Dodgers are going to get their World Championship
rings and it's going to happen on Friday. So if
you have tickets for tomorrow, enjoy the game. You'll still
see a great game. You'll be at the home opener
at four to ten pm right as we're going on
the air, and you can see you'll see a great
game against the Detroit Tigers, Los Angeles Dodgers against those

(02:14):
Detroit Tigers. But you're not gonna see the ring ceremony.
That's not gonna happen until Friday. So Friday ring ceremony.
I'll read you the text, or not the text, but
the social media post that they put out the Dodgers
put out here sent to me by Eric Sclar, the
Duke of Sports. Opening Day, Los Angeles Dodgers. That's tomorrow.

(02:41):
Parking gates open at one ten pm, not one o'clock
one ten pm. Stadium gates open at one ten pm.
Ceremony begins at three point thirty pm, first pitch at
four ten pm.

Speaker 2 (02:57):
Ring ceremony.

Speaker 1 (02:58):
Parking gates four ten pm, Stadium gates four ten pm.
Ceremony begins six to fifteen. First pitch seven ten pm.
So the ring ceremony is going to be on Friday.
The ring ceremony is March twenty eight. That's Friday. Parking
gates open at four to ten pm on Friday. Stadium

(03:21):
gates open at four ten pm Friday. Ceremony begins six
point fifteen pm Friday. First pitch seven to ten pm Friday.
So it's a big deal to see the team get
the rings. It's a big deal for everybody involved. It's

(03:42):
a big deal for fans as well. So if you're
going to Friday's game, please please get there early. There's
gonna be fifty six thousand people wanting to see the
Dodgers get their rings. Bring your kids, you know, it's
a big thing for kids to see as well.

Speaker 2 (03:58):
Maybe you got an eight.

Speaker 1 (03:58):
Year old, nine year old, ten year old in your
family who's a big Dodger fan. You know, you never
know when you're going to see another one of these things.
You know, Baseball is a real flukey game. The Dodgers
won a World Series in nineteen eighty one. In eighty eight,
and they and then again in twenty twenty. Didn't they

(04:19):
win one between nineteen eighty eight and twenty twenty. I
think they did, But anyway, I'd have to look this up.
You know what, there was a time when I wasn't
the biggest Dodger fan when I had a child. When
you have kids, everything else gets put on the back burner.
So from two thousand and five to two thousand, I

(04:41):
don't know, eight nineteen, fuzzy fuzzy with the with the Dodgers.
But I'm back, baby, I am back with these Los
Angeles Dodgers. They got a great team this year. They
have a tremendous amount of talent at every position. There's
no week, no week spot in the lineup, not a
single one. If you're pitching against the Los Angeles Dodgers,

(05:05):
you've got to pitch to nine great batters.

Speaker 2 (05:10):
Nine.

Speaker 1 (05:11):
The guy who was the DH last year, Shoe a Otani,
was on a rehab year. He was rehabilitating his arm
last year. Fifty home runs, fifty stolen bases in a
rehab year. All right, So let's look this up Los
Angeles Dodgers World Series years. All right, let's see what

(05:35):
the Dodgers did here. Okay, so they did it in
nineteen eighty eight. Eighty one I was right, eighty eight
I was correct, twenty twenty I was correct, and twenty
twenty four. So between nineteen eighty eight and twenty twenty,
I count that thirty two years, thirty two years the
Dodgers did not win the World Series.

Speaker 2 (05:57):
So if you were four years.

Speaker 1 (05:59):
Old and when the Dodgers won the World Series in
nineteen eighty eight, you probably don't remember that. You were
too young. And then when they won the next one,
you were, I don't know, in your late thirties. So
you got to you gotta absorb this when you can.
You've got to shell out the money to get into
that park. On Friday and watch the ring ceremony. I

(06:22):
can't tell you how much of a big deal it is.
It's it's, it's it's it's huge to see your team
get a World Series ring and the whole stadium goes crazy.
All the fans are there, all the players are there,
the announcers are there. I'm sure they'll be you know
my speeches. I'm sure they'll talk about Vin Scully.

Speaker 2 (06:43):
I saw.

Speaker 1 (06:44):
I was listening to David vasse Went last night when
I was buzzing around and I heard him. He had
a recording of Ron Howard talking about his memory of
Vin Scully. And I sat in the car in the
parking lot of loads and I couldn't get out, couldn't
get out of the car. I was listening to Ron Howard.

(07:04):
Richie Cunningham talk about how he had had transistor radio
when he was a kid and he didn't know what
baseball was. He was messing around with a transistor radio
when he was five or six years old, and he heard,
all of a sudden, he heard people cheering, and he
kept it on that game, and he kept it on
that station, and then the very next day he turned

(07:25):
on the radio again and He sat there and he
listened to the entire game.

Speaker 2 (07:29):
He didn't know what was going on.

Speaker 1 (07:30):
He didn't know what the Dodgers were and who they
were playing or anything, but just listening to Vince Scully's
voice captured him and brought him into the Dodgers organization.
And I think for a lot of people that happened.
I remember I was punished as a kid quite off him,
mostly for things I did, I would say, but I

(07:51):
do remember being punished during Dodger season. It wasn't really
a punishment because I'd be in my room anyway, listening
to the game. And so I collected baseball car cards
as a kid, you know, like every you know, stupid
kid in the valley. You know, you go to the
drug store ten cents and you buy your tops baseball cards.
You come home the gum stale, but you eat it anyway,

(08:12):
and then you go through and you see what you got.

Speaker 2 (08:13):
You see what you got.

Speaker 1 (08:15):
I got DA's, I got this guy from the Pirates,
I get this guy from Then all of a sudden,
you go, I got the Dodgers. So I collected enough
baseball cards where I had I had the starting lineups
for every team in the National League, every team in
the National League. So when the Dodgers played the let's
say the Cincinnati Reds, I was punished. I was in

(08:35):
my room, you know, cool on my heels, and I
would take masking tape I had I had. I had
a dark green bed spread. I quilt on my on
my bed, and I would take masking tape and put
one piece of tape about four or five feet towards
my door, one towards the window, and I make a
big V. And then I make little tiny bases with

(08:58):
masking tape. And then I would put the baseball cards
around my bedspread, and I'd listen to Vin Scully on
my old headphones, and I would move the baseball cards
around the diamond as Vin Scully would call the game.
And man, those games flew by, and I could see
him right in front of me. I could see, you know,
Steve Garvey on first, Davy Lobes on second, Bill Russell

(09:20):
in short, Ron Say on third, Don Sutton pitching, you know,
Pedro Guerrero in the outfield, Reggie Smith.

Speaker 2 (09:27):
You know.

Speaker 1 (09:27):
I could see all these Dodgers in front of me
on my bedspread, and I moved him around as Vin
Scully called the game. And that's how I spent a
lot of baseball seasons, you know, sitting in my room
listening to the game because they weren't on TV. Most
of them weren't on TV. It was really odd, really rare,
and really special for a Dodger game to be on television.

(09:49):
It was only on weekends, and it was it had
to be the game of the week, like an NBC
or CBS, maybe ABC. It was rarely on TV, so
you had to do your best. And Vin Scully made
us all fans. Vin Scully turned a lot of people
in Los Angeles into baseball fans, into Dodger fans. And
we can remember the first time you went to the stadium.

(10:12):
For me, it was nineteen sixty nine, went to Dodger Stadium.
We were sitting in the left field way, way way
up high, in the real cheap seats, and I remember
we're like nine miles from the field. And even at
you know, I think I was six or seven years old,
I said to my dad and my dad, you've got
to be making a little more money than this. I mean,

(10:33):
we're like in the clouds here. And it was bat night.
It was free bat now you got a free tiny
baseball bat. There's about a foot and a half or
maybe about eighteen inches or maybe a foot, and you'd
take that bat home. And I remember my very first
game it is against it I think it was again Houston,
but I remember sitting there in Dodgers Stadium my very
first time and hooked ever since. So anyway, the big

(10:55):
ring event, the Dodgers are getting their rings on Friday,
not tomorrow. On Friday, so buzz out to Dodger Stadium
on Friday.

Speaker 2 (11:02):
Don't miss that.

Speaker 1 (11:03):
That that might be a once in lifetime deal for you,
and you'll want to you'll want to be there. So again,
just to recap, Friday is ring ceremony. Gates open at
four ten. Stadium gates open at four ten. Parking opens
at four ten, Stadium opens at four ten. Ceremony begins
at six fifteen. First pitch at seven ten against the

(11:24):
Detroit Tigers. Ring Ceremony Friday, Dodger Stadium. And we'll have
it on the audio at some point on KFO.

Speaker 3 (11:33):
You're listening to Tim Conway Junior on demand from KFI
Am six forty.

Speaker 1 (11:40):
You know what, yesterday I looked at the weather and
they said it's gonna beautiful for the next ten days.
They said there's gonna be no rain. It's not gonna
be one hundred and twenty degrees. It's gonna beautiful. I
woke up this morning. It's raining raining this morning. Unbelievable.

Speaker 2 (11:55):
I think the traffic MIC's opening. Stephan, like you, thank
you for tuning it to the top. Like is shut?
All right?

Speaker 1 (12:04):
Do we have some nightmares going on here? Businesses are closing.
I don't know if you saw this, but my favorite place
to buy clothes, Coals, is closing up a lot of stores.
Macy's is closing sixty stores. Everybody's closing Sunset Sunset Boulevard.

Speaker 2 (12:26):
A string of.

Speaker 1 (12:26):
Businesses on the famed Sunset Strip are closing. The rent
is too damn high, and they're closing. Let's find out
where this is and who's closing.

Speaker 4 (12:36):
I'm hearing about this happening over and over again. We
counted a total of five businesses and restaurants that have
announced they're closing just in the past two months here
on the Sunset Strip, including the restaurant you see behind me,
beloved lay Petite four.

Speaker 1 (12:50):
It has been Oh wait, lay petit is a great
restaurant Lay Petite four. I don't know about La Petite four.
Lay Petit one and two were good.

Speaker 4 (12:58):
Blay Petite four it has been around pizza.

Speaker 2 (13:00):
I know it's a French place, but they do make
a great pizza.

Speaker 4 (13:03):
For over forty years, and now some community members coming
together to make a last ditch effort in order to
try and save it. Take a look here. They are
posting this go Fundme page in order to have folks
donate to it after the restaurant owners announced earlier this
week they'll be shutting their doors for good at the
end of this month.

Speaker 1 (13:23):
I don't know if GoFundMe is going to help. Maybe
it's a band aid, Maybe it'll help for a little while.
But I think that the problem with restaurants nowadays, it's
not a problem with their food or the service. The
problem is everybody is brooke. Nobody has any money.

Speaker 2 (13:39):
You can see her.

Speaker 4 (13:39):
They've already raised over six thousand dollars and their ultimate
goal is to get about one hundred and fifty thousand
dollars in donation.

Speaker 1 (13:46):
All right, one hundred and fifty thousand might keep them
open for a couple months, but it's not going to
keep them opening forever. And I have a theory on
why everybody's broke. When my dad was younger, he was
raising six kids and he had a.

Speaker 2 (13:58):
Power bill that he had to pay.

Speaker 1 (14:00):
He had to pay his taxes, water bill, and insurance,
and I think he paid for the LA Times and
I think that was it. And then we all went
to private public school, so he didn't have to shell
out any money there. But nowadays, Bellio, Yeah, you've got

(14:21):
a cell phone, you got streaming, You've got all kinds
of bills, you know, subscriptions to crap you. You know,
you went in and subscribed, you forgot, You're charging you
twenty nine dollars a month for your entire life. It's
much more expensive to live nowadays.

Speaker 2 (14:38):
It's hard to hold on to your money, it is.

Speaker 1 (14:40):
Everybody's always grabbing at it. And then you get phone
calls and texts saying, hey, I'm calling from your bank.
Somebody's trying to rip you off. Can you give me
your credit card number? And then people get ripped off
like that all the time. Yeah, you're constantly protecting your money.

Speaker 2 (14:54):
That's right. Yeah, you know I went with one of these.
You know, they have the three Bureau credit bureaus. Yes,
what are they?

Speaker 1 (15:01):
Equifas experience experience and experiences. We don't use that transcredit,
trans Union, TransUnion.

Speaker 2 (15:09):
Okay, who got them? It was close, belly close.

Speaker 1 (15:15):
So I went and looked at my credit because I
thought somebody was trying to or somebody was trying to
open up get a home loan under my credit. So
I had to go over there and lock it all up.
And then I accidentally, I must have accidentally subscribed to
one of their protection services. I was completely unaware I
did this, and then every single month I was charged

(15:37):
by one of these big three twenty nine ninety five
a month.

Speaker 4 (15:40):
That happened to me too.

Speaker 2 (15:41):
I must have checked something or didn't uncheck it, that's right,
that happened to me. Yeah, And so I called him up.
I was yelling at him, I'm wa, wait a minute.

Speaker 1 (15:49):
We all turned to you guys to help us protect
from crap like this.

Speaker 2 (15:53):
Good point, and now you're charging us like this.

Speaker 1 (15:56):
Outraged, And I said, you got to put every dime
back into into a into my account. And they said, well,
it's been going on for eight months, we can give
you three months back. I said, no, No, you got to
put all of it back in, put all of it
back in, or.

Speaker 2 (16:09):
I'm going to write a letter.

Speaker 1 (16:12):
Yeah yeah, you bet you, you bet you man. So
they eventually did give it back, but it was a fight.
I had to fight him to get the money back
and they didn't want to give it back.

Speaker 2 (16:21):
Thieve.

Speaker 4 (16:21):
And you know now you have to if you're going
to unsub subscribe, you have to pay to unsubscribe.

Speaker 2 (16:28):
I know, it's unbelievable. You know.

Speaker 1 (16:31):
That's why twenty three and me didn't make it, because
there was no long term subscription. You know, there was
no reason to have a monthly payment on that. You know,
there are some good services out there, you know, like LifeLock.
Is that what's one? Yeah, lifelocks great where they can
you know, they can protect you, and it's a monthly service.
I think it's like twelve bucks a month, and that's
that's worth it. But there's other ones out there that

(16:54):
are horrible and so and you all of a sudden
you look at your credit card bill and there's nine
to ninety nine. You don't know where it's coming from.
There's ten ninety nine. You don't where that It always
says apple, You don't know what that is. Oh, yes, yeah, no, please,
I don't know, but but I'm tired of that. And
then you call him like, okay, what is this? They
don't know, nobody knows, nobody does. Do you remember what

(17:14):
happened to the CEO of LifeLock? Oh yeah, he got
his credit still yep, like ten times.

Speaker 2 (17:20):
You know why?

Speaker 1 (17:20):
You know how he used to give out a social
security number? Yeah, he would say, like the guy on LifeLock,
would they feel it? Yeah, he goes, right, here's my
social Security number, and then he got sneaked.

Speaker 2 (17:31):
I don't think he does that anymore.

Speaker 1 (17:32):
I think he's learned his lesson there all right, back
to the business is closing on Sunset.

Speaker 4 (17:36):
It's coming after the restaurant posted at their social media
pages saying they'll be closing on March thirty first, saying
they did everything possible to keep their doors open, but
due to rising costs and a decline in foot traffic,
thesion decision to close became unavoidable. But this business not
the only one to make the same tough decision down
the street at the restaurant and bar called the Den,

(17:59):
They announced their closing just yesterday, calling it an end
of an era. After sixteen years of business, thanking the
West Hollywood community for its support all these years. They'll
be closing for good at the end of the month
as well.

Speaker 1 (18:13):
Okay, so that's two very good restaurants on Sunset We
still don't.

Speaker 4 (18:16):
Know exactly why they're closing. They haven't posted.

Speaker 2 (18:18):
That on any side. And let me guess they're not
making enough money?

Speaker 1 (18:24):
Is that? Is that in the article? They're not making
enough money? Is that in the article? It is okay on.

Speaker 4 (18:29):
Any of their social media pages. Now, another Sunset Strip
establishment is called the Irish pub called Rock and Riley's.
We all know this one. Yes, They shut down earlier
this month, right before Saint Patrick's Day.

Speaker 1 (18:41):
Oh there's a good idea shutdown on one of the
most popular Irish bars a week before then week before
Saint Patrick's Day.

Speaker 4 (18:47):
They shut down earlier this month, right before Saint Patrick's Day.
They are located just two doors down from the Whiskey
a Go Go, and according to yelp, it is now
permanently closed after fourteen years of business. Other locations though
staying open, and the Hudson House is another restaurant closing.

Speaker 5 (19:05):
After three years if business.

Speaker 4 (19:06):
The general manager leaving a note on the door, expressing
gratitude to customers with their support. And those are just
the restaurants you know back here live just a couple
of blocks from where I'm standing, the Sunset Strip Liquor Store.
It used to be called the Sunbee Liquor Store that
was around for decades. Then it became the Sunset Strip
Liquor Store. And their owners announced they're going to be closing.

(19:29):
They say this is due to an increase in rent prices.
They put all of their liquor on sale in order
to clear it all out, so they're going to shut
their doors permanently by the end of the month.

Speaker 1 (19:39):
Yeah, we're in trouble when liquor stores can't stay open.
You know, there's a lot of a lot of money
in that game. Man, oh man, I don't know what
I don't know what we're doing. I don't know what
we're doing in society. We're all, you know, buying everything
on Amazon, on eBay, online at sea. Isn't that something Bellio?
You buy on et seed, Every buy on ets Seed?
But yeah, okay, Well, do you consider yourself the reason

(20:03):
that Sunset's closing?

Speaker 2 (20:05):
Probably not? Maybe, Well, I have to say I haven't
been there.

Speaker 6 (20:08):
In a while.

Speaker 2 (20:08):
Okay, all right, it's out. It's out. It's you.

Speaker 1 (20:10):
It's you, it's me, it's you. Yeah, you didn't go
to Sunset, you didn't get a meal. You said you
bought chicken at the Costco. And now they're going out
of business.

Speaker 2 (20:18):
I mean, the traffic's so bad over there, I know.

Speaker 1 (20:20):
And parking is thirty dollars, you know. It's it's Sunset Strip,
Sunset Plaza, always hell to park around. Always it's very
difficult to get through there. And now these restaurants are
going away. It's got to stop. At some point, it's
got to stop. I don't know what the answer is,
but there's got to be a there's got to be
a you know, some kind of relief. We see robbery

(20:43):
after robbery, after store closing after restaurant closing. What's going
on in La There are a billion dollars in debt
as a city and everything's closing.

Speaker 2 (20:52):
We've got to fix this. We all live here. We've
got to fix this.

Speaker 7 (20:56):
Well.

Speaker 2 (20:57):
I don't know how, but we got it.

Speaker 3 (20:59):
You're listening to Tim Conway Junior on demand from KFI
A six.

Speaker 2 (21:05):
The high speed Chase.

Speaker 1 (21:06):
It ends in a cul de sac and these two chaps,
these two scientists. One works for Teldyne, the other one
works for NASA. They left the car and they ran
into a shed. You know, one of those sheds where
you see at home depot or at Costco and it's
like eighteen hundred bucks. You want to buy it, but

(21:26):
it's heavy and you want to take it home put
it together. Well, this family bought one. They put it together,
and they put it in their backyard. And then these
two guys ran all out of the car. The cops
are pulling up. Now three guys, three guys, okay, all
three Manny, Moe and Jack sitting in the shack there,
the three stooges are in the shack. Everybody knows they're

(21:50):
in the shack and they're gonna get arrested unless they
get out and start running. And they're not. They're just
cooling their heels inside the shack. Fun fact, where is this?
What city is it?

Speaker 7 (22:02):
You know what?

Speaker 2 (22:03):
No, but I just.

Speaker 8 (22:04):
Wanted to say, looking at the shed on the on
the helicopter image, I actually put the exact same shed
together for my mom. She bought that exact same one
where Costco. Yeah, yeah, okay, a better eighteen hundred bucks. Yeah,
it was hard to put together too. Oh, I know
it's paying the answer.

Speaker 1 (22:18):
And these guys are going to be dragged out of
that shed and put into that car right there.

Speaker 2 (22:24):
It looks like More Park Police, More Park Way.

Speaker 1 (22:27):
Up in near Okay out in Seam Valley area. So
they are in the shed. Gang cops know it. More
Park cops know it. It's a cul de sac. So
they're doubly screwed. There's nowhere to go, and now they're
going to go into the shed and drag these these
three CEOs out of there. I think one of them

(22:47):
is the CEO for Ford, the other one runs Taco
Bell and the other one runs General Motors.

Speaker 2 (22:52):
And they just had like.

Speaker 1 (22:52):
Sort of an odd day where they just were frustrated
with business. The sock market was going up and down.
So they got on the highway going too fast. Cops
are following them and bang they're in the shed. Now
there's like two there's one, two, three, four, five, six seven.
There's eight cops, four cop cars. It looks like one
person from the Sheriff's department or highway patrol, the other

(23:15):
one local cops from Newbury Park or more Park, More
Park and now they're going to go into this shed,
this Costco shed, and pull those chaps out of there.
And they're gonna have a different weekend now than they
were before. They're probably gonna at least spend tonight in jail,

(23:35):
maybe tomorrow, and if they don't get bailed, they'll be
there till Monday.

Speaker 2 (23:40):
Nice backyard.

Speaker 1 (23:41):
It's a pool area in the moor Park area, right
off the freeway. Imagine that's the one eighteen freeway they're
off of there or the twenty three out there, and
everybody's looking at the shed. It's on channel four, it's
on channel five. Channel seven is bailed And there they go.
They're out of the car. A weird the black car,
a lot of blue paint on the bottom where the

(24:04):
tires are painted blue. The bottom of his painted blue.
And now they're hopping over the fence. This is a delay.
This is an earlier video. Yeah, they're all kids, Yeah,
hopping over the fence. One guy's got a red jacket on,
which is a big no no when you're running away
from the cops. You don't want to wear a color
that they can identify quickly. And all three of them
decided to bail into the shed. Oh no, I'm sorry,

(24:25):
two of them, one into the shed and the other
one's hiding. Oh no, he goes there, he goes. The
third one win in the shed. So there's three guys
in the shed and the cops are just sitting there waiting,
I guess, for reinforcement to go there and drag them
out of there. But now those three more part kids
who are probably I don't know, they look like high
school age, maybe you know, college, early college, and they're

(24:49):
going to Now the cops are moving in with their
guns drawn. There's two cops leading the procession.

Speaker 2 (24:56):
Here.

Speaker 1 (24:56):
They're walking over the sidewalk and they're taking a stance
behind a parked car in a driveway. And all three
kids are still in the shed. Now there's ten twelve
cops out there and they're surrounding the house. They're surrounding
the shed. And it'll be before we go to commercial break,

(25:17):
or maybe maybe right after the commercial break. You'll see
this clearly on Channel five and Channel four. They're still
with it. But you'll see very clearly those kids coming
out of that shed and being put in the back
of that suv. That's what's going to shake down. Now,
the suv is getting closer. They're pulling up closer. They're
going to use the shed and they're going to use

(25:38):
the suv as cover and probably ask those kids to
come out of there, and if they don't, then they'll
send either a dog or they'll go in and have
to get them out of there. But it's you know,
you'll never know. I mean, it doesn't look dangerous, but
you never know. You know, if these guys have a gun,
any kind of weapon, it's always a possibility. Running away

(25:58):
from the cops is kind of a dicey situation. And
and those look like expensive homes around there probably a
million and a half two million bucks each, nice pool
in the backyard of some of these places. Freeway adjacent
I'll give you that. I mean, these kids ran from
the freeway over the fence right into the pool area,

(26:21):
and so now they're going to get arrested. Let's pull
the audio up on channel five. STEPHANU, shoot's going on here.

Speaker 7 (26:29):
Sam may use that chair to look over the fence
and probably not jump over the fence yet because that
might be a crossfire situation with these officers on this side.
But they are aware of the shed, they have eyes
on it at this point, and now it's just a
matter of making access into that ponder what.

Speaker 2 (26:45):
The conversations like inside the shed.

Speaker 7 (26:47):
To get in there, they'll likely make call outs to
those suspects to come out with their hands, have any gump,
and we'll see what happens that fIF.

Speaker 2 (26:56):
You think at this point we're still looking for us.

Speaker 1 (26:59):
Yeah, looks like that's the I think they're still looking
for Overhead, they're.

Speaker 8 (27:03):
Probably being streamed live on TikTok right now. Yeah, probably
they're probably watching.

Speaker 1 (27:07):
There's a helicopter literally right over the freeway off ramp
where they bailed from the car More Park area and
county now looking into that's the that's the Ventura County
Sheriff's car, the one on the freeway, but the other
one is a More Park local police.

Speaker 5 (27:26):
Car foo of wood Haven Court.

Speaker 2 (27:29):
What Haven Court?

Speaker 5 (27:30):
Not the exact address, but I am we could figure
it out. Police ever reach out to you or law
enforcement reach out to you if you were able to spot, yes,
something in the air that they maybe hadn't caught up
to yet.

Speaker 7 (27:43):
Yes. In fact, the airship was talking to my pilot
if Pollard during the chase was on their way and
because the units were so far back they lost sight
on the ground and they were relying on us to
give a location. As he was exiting Tapo Canyon, my
pilot pointed that out and then they responded to this
cul de sac, so they were able to get eyes
on that shed right away as soon as those officers

(28:05):
rolled up. And now this area is completely surrounded.

Speaker 6 (28:09):
Yeah, and you have to wonder are they going to
evacuate some of those homes before they make any moves
to try and arrest these three suspects. Obviously, you don't
want anybody to get hurt. Obviously, if these guys try
to run, or if they are armed, you don't want
anyone to get hurt. So, and you're looking at the

(28:30):
left right side of your screen here and you can
just see how fast this Mercedes was hauling wow as
it tried to evade capture. And you see him clip
the side of a vehicle there. A short time later,
he actually loses a tire as he's weaving dangerously in
and out of traffic.

Speaker 5 (28:46):
And Gil, I think you balcepen twice.

Speaker 2 (28:49):
If that's wood Haven, it's in SeeMe.

Speaker 5 (28:50):
Valley, innocent drivers before eventually getting off the freeway and
We just hope that maybe there was no whiplash or
some sort of injury involved with such a high speed
crash that may have looked I don't want to say minor,
but at that high rate of speed, it could be
it could result in a heavy, yeah, totally big crash

(29:12):
injury I'm just thinking of. Even if you get rear
ended and it's relatively slow, A lot of people report
neck injury whiplash. So you hope that those two people
who were hit by this car are okay, that's right.

Speaker 7 (29:24):
It may have been a gray's hit and you know,
sideswiping the vehicle as it went by one hundred miles
an hour, but at that rate of speed certainly could
cause a big jolt to the car and caused the
car to go out of control. We didn't see the
car go out of control. That's good news. And I'm
looking up the freeway right now. It doesn't look like
there that's.

Speaker 1 (29:39):
Going to be a relatively new shed because I'm looking
on Google at their house and there's no shed. So
relatively new purchase the shed and now it's being used
by guys who are avoiding the cops they do, so
no shed on the old photo. It's it's right near
if you want to know where this is. The closest
freeway was the one eighteen, the Ronald Reagan Freeway, and

(30:03):
they got off the Ronald Reagan Freeway at Tapo Tapo
Tapo Canyon and they went north and they're right now
on wood Haven, the twenty four hundred block of wood
Haven Court, at the end of that cul de sac
and in a tiny Costco shed and that's where we
find the three of them. All right, we're gonna take

(30:24):
a break. They'll pull these chaps out of there. We'll
have the audio for you. It is live on Channel four,
Channel five, Channel seven and kfive. We're all covering it.
High speed chase coming to an end for these poorest
suckers in SeeMe Valley. Bad day, bad day for running
from the cops. Now they're going to coolder heels and
do some speed wrapping.

Speaker 3 (30:45):
You're listening to Tim Conway Junior on De Mayo from
KFI AM six forty.

Speaker 7 (30:51):
Hey.

Speaker 1 (30:52):
The chases ended for these three chaps. They were a
little held up in a shed, one of those costco sheds.
It was eighteen hundred dollars jobs. Well, they were sitting
in that shed for quite some time now. They've gotten
out three young kids. There's rumor going around that they
tried to steal stuff from a Nike store. They all

(31:12):
have pretty nice tennis shoes on, so that sort of
makes sense.

Speaker 2 (31:14):
Pretty nice dressers, eh, Stanzy.

Speaker 1 (31:17):
And they that said wood Haven Court or wood Haven Street.
They're taking three of them away and they'll all be uh,
they're all had. They all have guns pointed at him
right now, and they're outnumbered probably seven to one with
the cops. There's the Ventura County Sheriff's Department. More park
cops are out there, Seami Valley cops are out there.

(31:39):
And this all ended at Tapo Canyon and the one
eighteen and they held up. They were held up in
that shed for about fifteen minutes. And I wonder what
the conversation was like in that shed. You know, you know,
one guy, you going to the Dodger opener. Ah, yeah,
my dad got to it's uh as soon as we

(32:01):
get out of here, slide home, get a good night's
sleep and going to that Dodger game tomorrow.

Speaker 2 (32:06):
You think they're still looking for us? That sounds like it.

Speaker 1 (32:09):
Yeah, this sounds like eight helicopters over us and about
thirty cops right outside the.

Speaker 2 (32:14):
Shed, so I think they're still looking for us. Yeah, Hey,
that Arby's we had earlier is knocking on the door.
No no, no, not in here, not in here.

Speaker 1 (32:23):
The tight shed plays hold it, it's going down with you.
And now they're being hauled away by the cops. They
got their man. Let's put out a Channel five audio
and see if we know anything more here Valley.

Speaker 6 (32:36):
All right, we're gonna check in real fast with Kay Goldberg.

Speaker 2 (32:39):
That's it.

Speaker 1 (32:40):
That's code form. Out of the shed into the cop car.
Now they're going to the backyard and seeing if there's
any more evidence they could pick up out of that shed.
Maybe they've got some cool nikes in there, some high tops.
I don't know, but that game is over and that's
a wrap, and those guys will always remember this. The

(33:02):
parents are probably embarrassed by what's going on. If they're,
you know, close to their parents. Parents have to be humiliated.
Where your son is on NASH or on local TV,
being arrested on live television on Channel two, four, five, seven,
and nine, and eleven all carrying the arrest of your

(33:26):
kid live on TV. So a great job raising these kids.
I don't know where it went wrong, but evidently at
some point it did. And now they're gone. They're going
to cool their heels tonight, probably make bail tonight, maybe tomorrow.
And now they've got a record. Yeah, and it's going

(33:51):
to be more difficult in life, you know, to do anything,
because people can look at your social media, they could
look at your past. Oh, these are the guys that
run away from cops and steal from stores. Let's pass
on hiring them. And this is the this is the big,
you know, downward slide. This is where it starts. And
now it's very difficult to get a job. It's difficult

(34:12):
to get into a relationship. Although that's probably not true.
There are probably a lot of women out there who
are already lining up to date these chaps, and that's
but this is the beginning of a long life for
these kids, because now they're going to become virtually unhirable.
And when you have that kind of publicity and you

(34:33):
have an arrest record and you ripped off a store,
and then when you're unhirable, you get back into more
crime because you can't make any money legally. And it's
a big downward spiral. So kids, don't run from the cops,
don't rip off stores. Do it the right way. I
know it takes a lot longer to make money, but

(34:55):
do it the right way. Go out, get a job,
go to sleep it up, go to work, get a family,
and just do it right.

Speaker 2 (35:04):
You know.

Speaker 1 (35:05):
I know it takes a long time. There's some up,
lot of ups and downs and doing it the right way.
But when you do it the wrong way, there's a
huge price to pay, major, major price to pay.

Speaker 2 (35:17):
No cap, no one, no cap. That means no.

Speaker 1 (35:20):
Lie, no, no lie, no cap. Okay, no cap? All right,
thing wrong with you? All right, let's talk about these skeeters.

Speaker 2 (35:27):
We have time.

Speaker 1 (35:28):
Oh wait, we'll come back. We'll talk about these mosquitos.
This is gonna be a big deal with these mosquitos.
And we have the pirates on the high seats. We'll
talk about that as well. But the mosquitoes are gonna
be a major problem. These pools in Pacific Palisades and
Altadena that are stagnant, they can produce up to three
million mosquitoes. Three million mosquitos, So it's gonna be a

(35:52):
long mosquito season because of these fires. And you've got
to make sure that whatever you know standing water you
have in the backyard. I went out last night and
checked if we have standing water, and we did. I
had a water bucke in the back that had two
or three inches of water because of our last rain
emptied that out. But I had no idea. I could
have been raising mosquitoes. So you got to get out
and check your backyard for any kind of water that

(36:14):
you have standing. But if you have one of these
big pools, you've got to invest in chlorine. Put some
chlorine tabs. It'll it'll, it'll work.

Speaker 2 (36:22):
Wonders.

Speaker 1 (36:23):
But when we come back, we'll talk about that, and
also the Pirates on the High Seas. Plus the Dodger
opener is tomorrow at Dodgers Stadium. A lot going on
here on KFI AM six forty Conway show on demand
on the iHeartRadio app. Now you can always hear us
live on KFI AM six forty four to seven pm

(36:44):
Monday through Friday, and anytime on demand on the iHeartRadio app.
