(00:00):
It's k IF. I am sixforty and you're listening to the Conway Show
on demand on the iHeartRadio app.All right, we're with you for three
hours. It's Monday. I don'tknow what that means. I don't know
if that that macare anybody cares afterCOVID murder. During COVID we all got
lost. You had no idea whatday it was. Is it Wednesday?
Is it Sunday? Is it Tuesday? Is a Friday? I don't know.
(00:21):
Nobody cared, but I guess now. And we're back into it,
all right, Alex Stone is whetherit's from ABC News, Alex, how
you Bob ding Dong? Hey,look, let me take a second here,
and Buddy, I never want totake advantage of our personal relationship off
the air, but when you calledme last night, I think it shows
a I know you know what I'mbeen talking about, but I think it
(00:45):
shows another side of you. Howemotional you were when fan of White gave
her speech and she's leaving real crochet. I didn't know who else to call.
But seriously, Buddy, I don'twant to joke about it. I
think that's a really soft side toyou. It really is well, thank
you for with me. I havebeen a lot. Okay, all right,
now people are gonna believe me.But okay, all right, So
(01:07):
what's going on with Apple? They'reputting out anything new of last time I
really cared was the iPhone and theeyewatch. They got anything new. Yeah,
So today the Worldwide Developers Conference theydo once a year. This is
when because September they do the newiPhones and then usually somewhere around there the
iPads and all that. This isabout all the developer stuff that they're going
(01:29):
to care about, the software, the guts of the things. And today
they had a big announcement, onethat some people think is going to be
one of the bigger announcements of thein the history of Apple, that they're
going with AI artificial intelligence getting intothe ballgame that other companies have been way
more willing to jump in than Applehas been. And Apple has been quiet
(01:49):
about it. And today they wentfull throttle in announcing as had been rumored
that they were working on different thingsthat with iOS eighteen, the next iPhone
update when you update it in thenext couple of months, and iPads and
max the same things that they're goingto have AI running in them. It's
going to be called Apple Intelligence insteadof artificial intelligence. And they played high
(02:10):
tech music and everything today announcing itto the convention. But what they say
is it's going to make your iPhoneactually know you and get to know you
and do things to help you outthe way you like what you don't like,
to be able to do things likerewrite an email for you in your
voice, but you can tell it. I want to be more direct,
I want to be less direct,I want to be friendlier. I want
(02:31):
to be professional. It'll rewrite it, it'll proof read things for you.
It'll make emojis for you. Theylook like you, they look like your
friends, and your photos. It'lldo what we've seen other programs do,
create images based off of the descriptionthat you give it. So if you
say I want King Kong hanging offof a tree, it'll then give you
(02:51):
King Kong hanging off of a treeon your iPhone. Then they say it's
going to do where it gets intothe guts of your phone and reads all
of your messages in your email andeverything to give you answers that you're looking
for. If you say, whattime is mom landing at the airport.
It's going to know from your communicationweeks ago and flight tracking software and email
(03:12):
confirmations. Well, she's landing uptoo. You need to be there at
one thirty to get to the airport. Leave it this time, and I'm
going to give you the answer. This is Tim Cook today Apple. See
ye, all of this goes beyondartificial intelligence. It's personal intelligence and it's
the next big step for Apple. So they say they're going to be focused
on security, that the data typicallywould be the number crunching of AI would
(03:34):
be going on in the web andin the cloud, and that they're going
to do it. They say they'vegot the power in your phone based on
the chips of Apple uses to doit on your phone, on your iPad,
in your Mac, so that it'sall locally stored and secured in your
device and not having to go upinto the cloud. In most cases,
some of it it will have to, but in most of it won't.
(03:55):
The other thing, though, isthey say this is going to make Siri
a lot smarter. Thank goodness, because I have no Seria. Doesn't she
reads me Wikipedia pages. Anything youask her, she says, I don't
know. I found this on theweb. Well I can do that.
Yeah, And you know Alexa willplay your music and answer all kinds of
things. You ask her to playmusic and she says, sorry, I
can't do that. So they say, she's gonna work with the apps.
(04:17):
She'll be able to do things foryou on the phone. She's gonna be
smarter, have better answers. You'regonna be able to record phone calls for
the first time on an iPhone. They will be you can transcribe them,
have them transcribed, even ask forbullet points, the main points out of
the conversation. And they added, today we are embarking on a new journey
to bring you intelligence that understands you. Apple Intelligence is the personal intelligence system
(04:41):
that puts powerful generative models right atthe core of your iPhone, iPad and
mac. They say, you know, it's gonna know what you like,
notification wise, where you don't like, and kind of streamline all of that.
The other thing is away from AI. They made a bunch of other
announcements, but one of the kindof cool things is if you go camping
or you go fishing or hunting andyou're off the grid. Uh, you
know how for the last couple ofmodels of the iPhone for nine one one
(05:04):
calls, they would go to asatellite and let nine one one know text
nine on one that you're in troubleand where you work. You'll be able
to use that in the next coupleof months when it goes live to continue
texting with your friends or or Imessage, so you can tell your wife
I'll be home at six even thoughyou're totally off the grid. You'll be
able to stay connected via satellite ifyou have an iPhone fourteen or Now,
(05:25):
wow, that's kind of cool. You know what, But don't you envision
a day when the new Apple intelligencewhere you know, we'll argue with you
and then you'll miss the dumb Siri. Yeah, you give me dumb Siri
back because I don't need another personarguing with me. That's right, you
say, No, that's not whatI want. It is what you want.
You do want that exactly. Sohopefully we'll spend be spending more time
(05:48):
on cell phones. So, so, my Siri just came alive as I
was saying that she's dies. Sheactually is talking to me over here.
Sorry, sir, that's classic.Sorry, I wouldn't have any phones do
that. When we say that word, are we gonna spend more time on
cell phones? You think then probably, Well, I mean they would like
that, that's what that's what Applewants. And also when they say they're
going to concentrate on security, Ithink the exact opposite with my history of
(06:12):
everything. Yeah, and then theysaid, well, it's all gonna be
on your device except for some thingswhere we need to go to the cloud.
But that is exciting and it's goingto save lives. If you can
be off the grid and still talkand text via satellite, yeah, you'll
be able to do that. Itseems like they're moving toward being able to
one day make phone calls and everything. But right now, if you're off
grid, it'll be texting only, but both I message and text messaging.
(06:33):
The other thing they said today thatI mean, you know all the little
things where you go, okay, that you change the color of your apps
on there and they but you're gonnabe able to lock some of your apps.
So if you give your phone tosomebody else at work, they can't
get into all of your apps. You can, and you'll be able to
hide in case you got you know, maybe an adult app on there somewhere
you'll be able to hide them.So you you show somebody your phone,
(06:55):
say here, check out this photo, or you give it to your kid,
they won't even know that app isanywhere on your phone. Then it
will be hitting and until it seesyour face, it won't show that app.
I wonder what the feeling is likethough, after you're done with you
know, with free adult sites, and you make that commitment with a credit
card, is that a big dayfor people when you're putting that credit card.
(07:15):
We're in there. Yeah, Idon't know. I think I had
enough. You've got that app onyour phone? That yeah, I think
that's a niche group, you know. I think that's a group that's out
there. Okay, yeah, surethey are. And can you download from
the app store those kinds of apps? I don't know, that's right.
I don't think you can. Idon't think you can. I think that's
why people have Android today. Theyin the example, they used a hair
loss app as the embarrassing app wherethey're saying, if you don't want you
(07:39):
know how to grow hair, Yeah, if you don't want your coworkers know
this, then then you can hideit. Oh that's great, buddy.
Yeah, I appreciate coming on AlexStone. Enjoy your summer. Buddy,
will talk you real soon. Thanks. Man. There he goes Alex Stone.
That kind of does everything. Thatguy's great. He comes on with
us all the time. Alex Stone. Brand new cell phone out there,
coming out soon. So they wantto wait a little time to buy one,
(08:03):
because you know, here's how youknow something great is coming out on
a cell phone or an iPad.If I buy one three months later,
massive improvements. And that happened.I got a new iPad about a month
and a half ago. And nowmassive improvement. Is that why you've been
stolen buying a car? A newcar? That's right. Yeah, I'm
looking for new improvements, new improvements. Keep wait, keep waiting. You're
(08:30):
listening to Tim Conway Junior on demandfrom KFI AM six forty. I was
off last Wednesday, Thursday and Fridaybecause I wanted to I wanted to go
into one hundred and eighteen hundred nineteendegrees and see what that's like. So
I went to a Parker, Arizonafor the float and my daughter and her
friends and my wife. They gottena float and floated down the river in
(08:50):
one hundred nineteen degrees. I bailed. I didn't go. I stayed in
the hotel. Oh you went, you just didn't go down, that's right.
I got them in the river, then went back to the hotel and
watched ESPN for about a two hoursthree hours, then went to pick them
up, and then went back tothe hotel and watched ESPN. And that's
(09:11):
a vacation to you, you knowwhat. It depends. It depends.
Yeah, I think that's about asgood as it gets for me. You're
just the cruise director. Yes,I'm the butler of the of the trip.
I help everybody out, help everybodyout have a good time. But
for you, yeah, I don'tknow. I think this is relaxing for
(09:33):
me, you know, come inand see you and Angel and Crozier and
Steph Fush and who else is intoday? Anybody, Lindsey, Yes,
this is relaxing for me. ButI missed Angel's birthday on Friday, so
I want to mention that Angel, happy birthday. Oh thanks, thank you
so much. Yeah, what didyou do for your big birthday? I
(09:54):
worked, and you did do anythingafterwards? Yeah? What did I do
afterwards? Oh? Yeah, Iwent out to dinner with some friends.
Really Yeah, where'd you go?Oh, where'd we go? We went
down to uh, Jimmy's Famous inDana Point. Oh that's a great restaurant.
(10:15):
Yeah, it's really good. Yeah, excellent. And by the way,
the whole month of June is angelFest, so not just celebrated one
day. Oh yeah, right,so every day we got to discuss something
with your birthday. Okay, yeah, okay, all right, I'll try
to remembers elbow no way from makingtoo many shoes, from playing tennis.
(10:43):
Well, you got tennis elbow theold fashioned way from tennis. Yeah,
yeah, the old fashioned way.I don't know what tennis elbow is.
It just hurts when you do anything. It's the tendon on that connects to
my elbow that goes down into myfour arm is disconnecting from the elbow bone.
Oh man, yeah, So JohnMcEnroe surgery, No, no,
(11:07):
no, I don't want surgery.I got that pr John mcinroe surgery is
a Tommy John for baseball? John, is there John McEnroe for tennis elbow?
For the tennis elbow? Yeah,I'll take the tennis version of that.
Does it hurt a lot? Ithurts a lot, But I got
p r P. Yeah, Ican't. I can't drive. I can't
(11:28):
like, I can't. Oh mygod, can't make any sandals. So
I'm not making sandals for about thenext month. Please, Steph wants to
know if you're if you there's anypain pills at your house. Please God,
you can get the car. Ohso that's some p r P.
(11:50):
And and so if it, ifI let it heal on its own,
it means I can't do anything withmy arm for one year. Oh my
god, you can't, like likeit was a mouse on a computer any
nothing? Right, yeah, nothing. It's super painful. And so I
(12:11):
got PRP, that platelet rich plasmaand I had that injected in its healings
coming along. It should take liketwo months instead of twelve months to heal.
So oh that sucks, man. That it sounds like really really painful.
It really is. It really ishorrible. Belly, have you had
it? You seem to be chimingin a lot. I know you're not
(12:31):
a doctor, but you seem tobe coming in on this. You have
you had it? No, it'sjust we had this conversation Friday with what
I'm saying. Okay, all right, BELLI O is so angry when and
does anybody's birthday except Bellos of course. Yeah then she just then she loves
(12:54):
it, absolutely loves it. Ihelp you feel better, Hey, thank
you, happy birthday. All rightthere she got all right. The heat
Dome is here, everybody. Iexperienced one hundred and nineteen degrees in Arizona,
but although it really only felt likeone hundred and seventeen, so I
think I got off light. Butwe are in for a massive I mean,
if you're driving to Texas, Arizona, New Mexico, it is an
(13:18):
absolute brutal nightmare. It really trulyis, and you get no relief at
all. You know, you getout there and you drive on the ten
Freeway and you're like, okay,I'll get some relief somewhere. At midnight.
Where I was in Park, Arizona, it was one hundred and one
degrees at midnight midnight. Now notunbelievable. Now this heat Dome is returning
(13:41):
again, making a comeback. LasVegas one hundred and nine degrees potentially tomorrow,
Phoenix won eleven, Pueblo one hundredby Thursday, Albuquerque ninety eight.
I wasday that is. Those areall potential record breaking daily highs. So
keep that in mind. That recordbreaking heat persists in the west, and
now it's getting ready to start makingits way east. If you live in
(14:03):
Philadelphia, d C, Raleigh,New York, really any city lining the
I ninety five coast, as youhead into the weekend, prepare for temperatures
in the nineties. We're taken aback, so croach. You're from the east
coast, you know, Maryland,Washington, d C, Baltimore area.
When it's ninety five there, it'sbrutal and you're getting that humidity too.
(14:24):
It's a little bit further east. We're right at the Mason Dixon line right
there, Virginia, Maryland. Butyeh yeah, we still feel the humidity.
Yeah, in North Carolina, whenit's ninety five and eighty nine percent
humidity, that's worse than one hundrednineteen. Step out of the shower,
step into the air shower, instantlysweat everywhere you go, Yeah, everywhere
everything you do, it's just yousweat your ass. I tell you what,
(14:46):
though I preferred to dry heat, you like the humidity. Yeah,
there's something about like especially a Jenaand I learned this, you know,
when we go to New Orleans whereit is perpetually humid. There's something about
the humidity that allows me to atleast walk in it, you know,
and drink the street and take ittime. Yeah. Yeah. Dry heat,
man, it just it completely SAPsany energy I have. Yeah,
(15:07):
dry heat. You've got to watchdrinking because you're going to get dehydrated.
Yeah. And in New Orleans, man, you can knock it out.
It's one hundred percent humidity every day, every single day. In the nineties.
We're taking it back to the nineties. Ninety one in Raleigh on Thursday,
potentially ninety four on Friday, evenin our nation's capital, ninety three
degrees by Friday. Meanwhile, wealso have to monitor this threat for severe
(15:30):
weather. And I'll tell you somethingabout heat. It really does fuel these
storms. Yeah, it does fuelthe storms. It really does fuel these
storms. Doesn't just feel the storms, It really fuels the storms. It
really does fuel these storms. Sowe could see some severe weather popping up
in places like Rapid City, Scott'sBluff. They're damaging wind, large hill
and isolated tornado possible even down nearSavannah, Georgia. And then Thursday night
(15:54):
we are tracking the threat for severeweather moving into the Great Lakes region and
into parts of the Ohio Valley. There you go. All right, if
you listen online then you live inthose parts of the world. It's gonna
be horrible. We're getting into horrible, horrible weather. But we're out near
in La and it's not bad.You know, it's gonna be eighties.
We're gonna be fine for a coupleof days. But when we come back,
the AutoZone was robbed, the AutoZonegetting the zone auto zone. And
(16:18):
also we'll check him with Corbyn Carson. Yes, Corbyn Carson. I love
that guy and he's coming on toI think talk about the sentencing. Yes,
Olivia, all right, so aboutRebecca Grossman. That sentence was handed
down today, we'll talk to andwe're talking about about how long the minimum
and the maximum of the sentence ofRebecca Grossman. And if you don't know
(16:42):
who that is, that's the ladywho was driving in I think Thousand Oaks
or Westlake area and killed two youngboys. So we'll come back and talk
about that. You're listening to TimConway Junior on demand from KFI AM six
forty. Well, the Rebecca Grossmanverdict is in she was one not drinking
(17:06):
and driving and killed two young boysin the Westlake area, not near Thousand
Oaks. And she has been sentenced. And here is Corbyn Carson to give
us some of the details. Corbyn, how you Bob? Yeah? What's
going on? Man? Yea.The judge sentence Rebecca Grossman to fifteen years
to life for the second degree murderof each kid that's eight and eleven year
(17:27):
old Mark and Jacob Iskander, andfour years for fleeing the scene. But
all of those sentences will be servedat the same time. So in all,
fifteen years to life is the basesentence she was given today. Prosecutors
wanted the maximum thirty four years tolife, but the judge ruled that's what
he gives someone who intended to kill. He says he just didn't buy the
(17:48):
prosecutor story that she is a monster. He said, this was a very
horrible result. But every court istaking into consideration the person in their entire
He said, this is a sixtyyear old woman who has no criminal history,
and she will be punished for thehorrible action. But again, no
court can discount who she is asa person aside from the crime. I
(18:11):
mean, this was an emotional fivehours of statements from more than a dozen
speakers supporting the maximum sentence for RebeccaGrossman. There was also a thirty minute
edited video where we heard from PeterGrossman and the children, and then there
was also a chance where Rebecca Grossmangot to speak at the end as well
(18:33):
as her children. They were allin tears. Grossman addressed Nancy Iscandor,
the mother at the end there whoat first this was a very poignant moment.
But at first Nancy when she knewRebecca was gonna gross ex excuse me,
Rebecca was gonna address her, andNancy tried to leave, and Rebecca
Grossman begged her to stay, Imean sobbing, begging her to stay,
(18:56):
so that Nancy Iscandor turned back aroundto hear her hear her apology. But
again at the end, I caughtup with Nancyscandor as she walked out,
just a short statement that I playedearlier about her saying, look, she
apologized about what happened, but notwhat she did. And so the family
just not hearing that the fifteen yearsthey were saying, and as well as
(19:17):
the prosecution was saying that fifteen yearsjust doesn't encapsulate both children. It should
have been fifteen years for one andfifteen years for the other. These are
two separate children. Again, therewere a lot of kids that spoke.
There was this young man, AustinWallace. He was one of three brothers.
He's now fourteen. This all happenedfour years ago, almost four years
(19:37):
ago, this September in twenty twenty. He sounded legitimately angry as he ended
staring at the judge, saying,I think it's only fair that she spends
fifteen years in prison for each kidthat she killed. And I caught up
with Austin outside the courtroom just tosee just how much this has affected him
and his brothers. I saw theshock on my little brother's face so young
(20:00):
when we heard about that when wegot home. It's sad because thinking about
losing them, and then on topof it, you're thinking about how it
would feel losing your own brothers. Can't even think about it, how horrifying
it would be if I came hometo hear my little brother or older brothers
were killed in a car crash bysomeone who just was reckless, driving and
(20:21):
drinking and making awful decisions. Andthen to not admit it and try to
cover it up so wrong. Andthat's just what we heard him from most
of the family today. Yeah, yeah, but that is the worst nightmare
of a parent. You know, parents deal with you know, brothers and
sisters who pass away, parents dealwith mom and dad or grandparents would pass
(20:42):
away, maybe a dog or acap a man. When you involve kids,
that's a parent's worst nightmare. Absolutely, and not just not just one,
but two. Many people said no, and no parents should have to
bury their child. And keep inmind, the younger Zachary is kandor watch
this all happen. That's the boythat Rebecca excuse me, Nancy was able
(21:02):
to pull out of the way ofthe two cars. So many people talked
about how that kid, I mean, he just started kindergarten after the crash,
and how he's had to try toovercome what he saw unbelievable. Was
she taken right into custody? Oh, she was already taken into custody right
when she was convicted, right, yeah, in in February she was convicted,
(21:22):
so she she I mean, whenshe came into court today, she
had on the brown prison or jailjumpsuit and hair frizzled, and honestly she
was in tears having to listen tothis. It was very it looked it
appeared very painful for her as well, And many people on the Grossman side
kept saying, nothing we're going throughcan compare to what the iscandors Uh were
feeling. But again the Iscandor familyis like, where was all this?
(21:45):
Why did she leave the flee thescene? Why did she say it was
the Dodger's pitcher who did it?Why did she say it was other cars?
Why didn't she care? I meanthe Nancy talked about when they walked
in at the hospital where the olderbrother, the doctors told her that the
older brother they had to pull theplug on him, and she was They
told her, you need to makea decision on pulling the plug. She
(22:07):
walks out of the hospital. NancyIskander says she saw Rebecca Grossman look her
in the eye, and she says, that was your time, that was
your time to tell me you weresorry. Instead, she went in there
and she watched her son turn bluefrom the forehead down. And that's something
she says she thinks about every timeshe kisses the two remaining kids she has
left She's exactly right, one hundredpercent right now, when is she eligible
(22:30):
for parole? Does she have toa minimum fifteen years? And she does
not. That is something we askedand the prosecutors were very upset about that.
She can be eligible for parole inseven to ten years. It's up
to a parole board. So thatplus the good time, I guess it's
been about about three or four monthsyou're looking at again. It's up.
(22:51):
It depends on her actions and whena parole board would take that up.
And you know, seven to tenyears is a very long time, but
she could be out in seven years. Carvin, appreciate it, Thank you
for coming on. Thanks all right, there he goes Corvin Carson with the
update on Rebecca Gross been sentenced fifteenyears to life and for taking those those
two beautiful boys from their mom anddad. Horrible, horrible story. You're
(23:15):
listening to Tim Conway Junior on demandfrom KF I am six forty one of
my good buddies, Mark Chrisky.I think I can. I consider him
a good body. Was down fora while, had what will probably take
me out stroke, But he's back. I mean, he's getting well,
(23:37):
he's getting well. Mark Chrisky. He's over there at KTLA and he's been
there for quite a while doing theweather at KTLA. It's getting update on
what Mark Chrisky's going through physically.Tag gong with this guy. Hey guys,
really looking forward to getting back towork. I'm doing greatly, copies
go fantastic and really miss being atKTLAM. Looking forward to getting back there
(24:00):
as soon as possible. I reallywant to thank you everybody. It's been
a village. It's been a team. All my doctors, all my nurses,
the nurses assistant. I'm sorry thephysical thing I thought he meant friends
texting him, sorry meant the doctorsall right. I really want to thank
you everybody. It's been a village. It's been a team. All my
doctors, all my nurses, thenurses assistance, the physcal therapist. Wow,
(24:25):
man, it's got a lot ofpeople staring at him. The cooks,
the food has been acting pretty good. I want to thank my wife
for helping out what I couldn't dowithout her. Thank you everybody, Thank
you for all your support and wellwish is out there. Thank you.
It's my KTLA Faber number one.I'll be back soon. There you go,
(24:45):
Mark Chrisky. I'm the men froma mild stroke. A mild stroke,
so he'll be back, hopefully soon. Coyotes, I see him all
the time in Burbank when I drivehome. They're everywhere, And my wife
saw one the other day at noonwalking around in broad daylight looking for pets.
They look for dogs and cats, and I don't know what else you
(25:07):
got going on. Maybe pigs.People have pigs in their homes and they
are hungry. They can't find enoughfood up in the hills, so they
come down and eat our pets.Obviously they don't have pets of their own
because they don't know the relationship wehave with our pets. But man,
is that gotta be One of theworst things with a pet owner is to
(25:27):
see your dog or cat dragged awaywith another animal. Oh so vicious,
so crazy, And people say, wow, it's it's natural. Okay,
it might be natural, but stillit's fairly ugly. Residents in this cul
de Sac and mar Vista, I'vehad a close encounters with these coyotes.
(25:48):
Now, many of them have smallpets, they have children, so they
fear it's only a matter of timebefore someone gets hurt. Tonight, residents
they're banding together. Can here usa pack of coyotes? How disrupting the
this neighborhood in mar Vista, evenstalking a man walking his dog during the
middle of the day. Yeah,I saw that video. The guy was
walking a dog. He's got thisbig white I don't know, like a
(26:08):
standard poodle or something, and thecoyote is walking behind him. He's walking
his dog. The coyotes behind himwalking step first step with this dog.
Guy walking a dog. That isjust crazy. They've been captured on surveillance
cameras. This video is showing notjust one, but a total of six
wild dogs scurri along a back patiofence. Residents say the coyote population has
(26:30):
gotten out of hand, so thatwas the start of this coyote apocalypse.
Janel Arios has banded a group ofneighbors together to demand action following this scare
involving her pops. My dogs areoutside in the backyard going to the bathroom,
in the potty, and all ofa sudden, a coyote approached my
(26:52):
fourteen year old senior dog and tryto attack it. Ah, that's the
worst. That's when you got tokill the coyote. No. Sorry.
Luckily, my little younger dog sawwhat was going on and he chased it
off. Her brave dog, Bartsurvived the attack. But what's the name
of the dog? Bart? Herbrave dog Bart survived the attack. The
(27:14):
residents fear it's only a matter oftime before he small pet or child gets
hurt. I take my horn. That makes lots of noise. Pepper gel.
Some residents have even raised their fencingto keep Yeah, I don't think
they're bringing the right equipment. Hornthat makes lots of noise. Bringing a
