Speaker 1 (00:00):
It's KFI AM six forty and you're listening to The
Conway Show on demand on the iHeartRadio app KFI AM sixty.

Speaker 2 (00:10):
It is The Conway Show.

Speaker 3 (00:13):
Hey, look at this.

Speaker 2 (00:14):
We're all together for.

Speaker 1 (00:15):
The first time this year. Angel Martinez joins us. Angel Martinez, welcome.

Speaker 3 (00:20):
Back, little buddy.

Speaker 4 (00:22):
Hey, thank you so much.

Speaker 2 (00:23):
Happy New Year to you.

Speaker 4 (00:24):
Happy New Year.

Speaker 1 (00:25):
By the way, I have an Angel Martinez story I'm
gonna tell later in the program, and it it is
gonna affect you. Let me just I'll tell you that
it affects you radically. Oh, something I did over the
week over the vacation is gonna affect you in a
almost an immeasurable way. All right, let's talk about but
we'll do that a little later on. Brian Gannis with us.

(00:46):
He's the CAFI national correspondent, and the FBI says that
the New Orleans drive the rampage down there acted alone. Brian,
welcome to KFI. What do you say, what do you know?

Speaker 5 (00:57):
Well, they said, we've learned a lot in the last
twenty four hours since we last talked. Here's what we
know now. The FBI says, as you mentioned that they
believe he acted alone. As we told you yesterday, he
was identified as forty two year old Sham Said Den Jabbar,
Texas born US citizen, Army veteran, And what we have
confirmed is that he posted several videos prior to the

(01:18):
attack proclaiming his support for ices, and since then, bomb
technicians say they recovered two IED's in coolers, one of
those at a cross section of Bourbon and Orleans Street
and the second one about two blocks away. I can
tell you a lot more about what they found there
and also at his home as well.

Speaker 1 (01:35):
Tim Okay, so were these id coolers? They never went off?
Thank god? How were they supposed to go off? Were
they timed? Or they're going to go off with a
cell phone?

Speaker 5 (01:45):
No, We've been told that he did have some type
of a device that would be a receiver activated device
set up for both. But again they never went off,
so I don't know if they if it failed. One
was in the vehicle, one was down the street, And
there are now FBI photos that have been released late
today that show him actually walking down the street just

(02:08):
after two that morning, and apparently that's when one of
those devices was placed down the street. And interestingly, at
that time he is wearing a brown long coat, a
dark button down shirt, blue jeans, and brown dress shoes.
I believe sometime after that, which was two three, sometime

(02:28):
after that he changed into that camouflage. And then at
three fifteen or three sixteens when he drove down the street.

Speaker 1 (02:34):
You know, I've been I've been watching as much video
as I can before it gets you know, wiped clean
from the internet. And I can't believe how fast that
a hale was driving down that street.

Speaker 5 (02:48):
Unbelievable. And that and the way he turned, the way
he turned past the police car that was blocking the
street was also the acceleration was able.

Speaker 2 (03:00):
Yeah, you know what, Brian, there's a real similarity.

Speaker 1 (03:04):
There's a lot of similar points between the Las Vegas
guy and this guy. They're both veterans, but they both
served at the you know, at Fort Bragg. I believe
they also are you know, were really elevated in the
you know, in the military. And they both rented the
car from the same rental car application.

Speaker 2 (03:24):
It's really weird the similarities.

Speaker 5 (03:27):
Well, you know, in the FBI and well the local
authorities in the Las Vegas had a news conference earlier
today as well, and they even mentioned the fact that
while there are some similarities and some coincidences, until they
want to rule everything out, they just not found any
true connection other than both had been in the military.
Of course, the one in Vegas was still in the

(03:48):
military and was on leave. But it does not appear
that other than the fact that they both weren't bragg
and also at one time in Afghanistan, that they may
not have crossed paths. But they're going to be looking
into the which is partly why they're calling it a
global investigation. One thing to point out, obviously, a number
of people are for Brag. A number of people were
in Afghanistan. These two had different roles, and one was

(04:13):
the US Army's elite special Forces unit. That's the guy
in Vegas, and the one in New Orleans was really
more of a technical IT type, computer type guy.

Speaker 1 (04:22):
Yeah, and that it makes it doesn't make any sense
that the IT technical computer guy wasn't able to launch
those bombs.

Speaker 2 (04:30):
Yeah, it doesn't make any true, very true. That's well.

Speaker 5 (04:33):
And also and Tammy, he had a long time to
prepare for this. I don't know if you've seen it yet.
There's a video on the New York Posts online where
they had a reporter that was able to get into
the home and that was rated by the federal by
the FBI yesterday. And inside this home there was a
table set up where there was clearly bomb type devices

(04:56):
being built. Uh. There there were chemicals, there were other
types of items there near and so he had been
set up there for quite some time building that uh.
And it was also interesting I think that all of
the items that were left behind by the federal officials.
There was a Koran there that was open to a
page that talked about martyrdom.

Speaker 2 (05:17):
Wow.

Speaker 5 (05:17):
There were there were other uh again clearly device type
building of materials that were left there. Nothing that would
be explosive, but clearly that's what that table was set
up to do.

Speaker 2 (05:30):
You know what I thought was odd too.

Speaker 1 (05:32):
I did see that picture of inside this guy's living
facility in I think it was outside of Houston. I
thought it was weird. And how much workout equipment this
guy has. You know, he's he's about to kill people,
he's about to kill himself, he's about to leave you know,
planet Earth, and yet he's still getting in shape.

Speaker 5 (05:50):
Yeah, that was strange. I agree, that's.

Speaker 2 (05:52):
Odd on on all right, Brent. So what did they do.

Speaker 1 (05:55):
I'm sure New Orleans went, you know, all out with
security today. Did did you notice or did you do
you hear of anything special?

Speaker 3 (06:02):
Was that?

Speaker 2 (06:03):
You know it could to calm people's nerves before the
Sugar Bowl.

Speaker 5 (06:06):
Oh, there were extra and they also opened up Bourbon
Street a few hours ago as well, so it's reopened.
Extra police force on the street and there are there.
There were some military style vehicles parked outside the Caesar
super Dome. There was a tremendous amount of police presence
visible and they were flying a drone overhead the entire
time as the crowd was going. Yet I got to

(06:27):
tell you the game, of course, it's still underway. There
were very few empty seats, so it hears that most
of the people that were going to go last night
stayed in town one more night in there at this
afternoon or the evenings game.

Speaker 1 (06:40):
I don't know if you have a dog in the
fight there, but I'm a big Notre Dame fan, and
they're winning twenty three to ten with about nine minutes left,
so I'm very excited about them possibly moving on.

Speaker 5 (06:50):
Yeah, me too, that's who Wait, I was far going
to Okay, so.

Speaker 2 (06:54):
You're a Notre Dame fan.

Speaker 1 (06:55):
So I imagine Brian Kelly is at home somewhere watching
this thing.

Speaker 5 (07:00):
Yeah you know what I mean, Yeah, you know that one.

Speaker 1 (07:05):
But I'm glad they opened Bourbon Street. I think it's
important to get right back to society the way it was.

Speaker 2 (07:10):
Again. We talked about these yesterday.

Speaker 1 (07:11):
What they want, what terrorists want, and this guy Jabbar
I think is is I put them in that category.
What they want is to disrupt everybody's life as much
as they can. And the quicker we go back to normal,
the more they fail.

Speaker 5 (07:25):
Yeah, and that's why it was so important to get
Bourbon Street. Obviously they had to clean up in addition
to the investigation, but it was so important to get
that street reopened so that now, you know, I'm not
sure how many of these fans when they leave the
game are going to go over there, but it was
important that for no other reason, just to say, you
can't stop something like this. And you know, New Orleans's
been through so many different tragedies over the years there.

(07:47):
The town is resilient and they're showing some of that
right now.

Speaker 2 (07:50):
I agree.

Speaker 3 (07:51):
Brian.

Speaker 1 (07:51):
On a personal note, we we've only worked together this week.
How long you been with iHeart.

Speaker 5 (07:57):
I've been with iHeart almost fifteen years.

Speaker 2 (08:00):
Right, fantastic buddy.

Speaker 1 (08:01):
We'd love to have you on. You have all the knowledge,
great reporter. We'd love to have you back as often
as as as you are. You're able to come.

Speaker 5 (08:08):
On, okay, we'd love to be on.

Speaker 2 (08:12):
All right, Happy New Year? All right, thanks Briangan everybody.

Speaker 1 (08:15):
He is a KFI, our new national correspondent here at KF,
I am six four. He's been with iHeart for fifteen years.
Triffer reporter, has all the knowledge, a great sense of humor.

Speaker 2 (08:27):
And Notre Dame fan how about that?

Speaker 3 (08:30):
All right?

Speaker 1 (08:30):
We're live on KFI. That game is still going on.
The Notre Dame a fighting Irish, which I find defensive,
very stereotypical. You know, plug in any other race or
religion and put in a stereotype and see how long
that name lasts.

Speaker 2 (08:47):
But we don't care.

Speaker 1 (08:47):
We are the fighting Irish. And the Leprechaun, by the way,
is not only fighting. He's in a fighting stance. That's
the you know, the the mascot. But he's also drinking.
He's the fighting drinking Irish. And you know what we
do as Irish, We celebrate it. We celebrate it when
some idiots come forward and say no, we want to

(09:07):
change it because it's stereotypical of the Irish. The Irish
are the first one to stand up and go get
the hell out of here. We're keeping it, the fighting Irish.
We like the stereotype. We like it, we like it.
The drunk fighting Irish stereotype also happens to be true.
I have a lot of uncles, a lot of cousins,
a lot of drinking, a lot of fighting, lots of it.

Speaker 6 (09:30):
You're listening to Tim Conway Junior on demand from KFI
Am six forty.

Speaker 1 (09:36):
We're live by the way. It's Thursday, January second, little
after four o'clock. Keeping an eye on the sugar bowl.
Which of all the ball games, the bowl games, I
think it makes the most sense, you know, I mean,
you do have a sugar bowl at home, maybe your
grandmother did. On the table, the coffee table, you know,

(09:59):
please pass sugar bowl. There was a bowl of sugar,
little spoon in it for a little in your coffee,
your tea or whatever you got rolling on. But I
don't know the Dorito's bowl. I don't know if you
have a Dorito's Bowl. Maybe you do the Rose Bowl.

Speaker 6 (10:14):
Nah, I don't know.

Speaker 2 (10:15):
I don't know.

Speaker 1 (10:16):
I think the Sugar Bowl is the dominant proper name
for a football game. But there's six minutes and twenty
six seconds left. Notre Dame twenty three, Georgia ten. So
if that game, if that score holds up and Notre
Dame goes on, they're gonna go on to play Penn State,

(10:37):
I believe. And there'll be four teams left, four teams left,
and so that'd be so it'll be Notre Dame Penn State, Texas.
And I can't think of who the other guy is,
which is one of the reasons I'm not doing sports radio.
Many reasons not doing sports radio. But Angel Martinez, you

(10:57):
whether it's Angels back, how are you, darling?

Speaker 7 (11:00):
Hey there, look at you.

Speaker 2 (11:02):
Happy New Year, Happy New Year.

Speaker 3 (11:04):
Thank you.

Speaker 2 (11:05):
I got a story about you, all right.

Speaker 1 (11:09):
I drove up to Portland, Oregon, and my first I
was going to drive alone, drive up there, to have
a car up there, and I just wanted to, you know,
I liked I like to drive.

Speaker 2 (11:18):
It's beautiful drive. Once you get north of.

Speaker 1 (11:21):
Redding, you know, Shasta and Ashland, and once you get
into Oregon. Everything is beautiful, everything is tree lined. It
looks like, you know, christ It's like a Christmas painting
everywhere you look.

Speaker 3 (11:32):
So I get up.

Speaker 1 (11:33):
My first night is at a beautiful casino called Calusa,
and I slide into Calusa.

Speaker 2 (11:40):
I have a great dinner. I'm alone.

Speaker 1 (11:42):
I have a couple of drinks and I start gambling
and I'm getting worked in the casino. I am getting
every slot machine, every hand of cards, every roll, the dice.
Everything I'm just getting, you know, destroyed. So I got
back to the room. I try to take a break.

(12:02):
I finish off a sandwich that I had ordered before
I go back down destroyed again. Everything I touch turns
to you know, crap. So I'm out of money and
I've already taken four hundred dollars out of the ATM,
which is my max every day. And I don't want
to bump a credit card because I don't know if
I could do it that late. I feel like an
a hole if I do that. You know, it's like

(12:23):
forty two percent if you hit a credit card.

Speaker 3 (12:25):
So I go back to.

Speaker 1 (12:26):
The room and I'm looking through my backpack because I
remember I brought some granola bars with me. That's what
kind of a loser I am. A I have a
bottle of water. I'm looking throw my backpack for granola bars.
And as I'm looking through my backpack, I see the
Christmas card that I was supposed to send to you
with cash in it.

Speaker 4 (12:48):
Oh, well there you go.

Speaker 2 (12:49):
Popped it open. Back to the casino. Back to the casino.

Speaker 1 (12:53):
Angel Martinez and I are now gambling together, and Angel
we came so close to hitting oh so close to it.
We almost had a straight flush. Oh a straight flush.
We had had seven hundred bucks each, easy, easy, so close. Yeah,
so you zeroed out, you went down, zeroed out, and

(13:16):
you went down with the ship.

Speaker 4 (13:17):
Sorry, oh that's all right.

Speaker 2 (13:19):
Merry Christmas, Christmas.

Speaker 8 (13:22):
Yeah, it sounds like I have this relative that would
say something kind of similar, similar, but not really. You
could go, oh, guess what I got you for filling
the blank present, you know, some holiday or birthday whatever.
I'm like what, and he goes, okay, close your eyes,

(13:42):
like I'm supposed to imagine something. I'm like, okay, they're closed.
He's like, now what do you see?

Speaker 4 (13:50):
Thanks nothing, Thanks a lot.

Speaker 1 (13:53):
That's great, that's fantastic. But I do have the ripped
card that I open. I'll send you that.

Speaker 4 (13:59):
Awesome. I can't wait.

Speaker 1 (14:00):
Okay, all right, Angel Martinez. By the way, how you feeling.
You're feeling better?

Speaker 8 (14:05):
Feeling a lot better? Oh man, I got this. This
cold kicked my butt. It wasn't you know, they tested
me for everything, strap RSV, COVID. It wasn't any of that.

Speaker 2 (14:16):
It was just a cold.

Speaker 8 (14:18):
But you know, I went over to the Urgent Carrot
Hogue and Raj listens to the show. I don't know
if I was really excited that he recognized me because
I looked like h double hockey sticks when I went
into this place.

Speaker 4 (14:32):
And he's like, oh oh I love the Conway Show.

Speaker 8 (14:35):
I download every episode and I just love it. Tell Timmy,
I said, Hi, he's even come out to the postathon.

Speaker 4 (14:44):
You know you donate and say hello.

Speaker 8 (14:46):
Yeah? Yeah.

Speaker 1 (14:47):
So is he like a morphine guy or delauded or what?

Speaker 2 (14:53):
Can he help us out with anything?

Speaker 4 (14:55):
The morphine?

Speaker 2 (14:56):
You know whatever?

Speaker 8 (14:57):
You want?

Speaker 2 (14:58):
Tell them to bring the pad. That's well, his name
is Rog.

Speaker 4 (15:01):
Yes, Rog's awesome.

Speaker 2 (15:03):
Yeah, short for Roger. I guess so thought that was odd.

Speaker 1 (15:09):
Okay, Rog at Hogue Medical Clinic or doc in the
box whatever they call it.

Speaker 2 (15:14):
Urgent Care, Urgent Care carer. I did talng with you,
all right.

Speaker 1 (15:18):
The Rose Parade is over, everybody, bond you have a
chance to go see your favorite float. Maybe you want
to slide in there and see the one that won
the animation award. I wonder which one won the animation award.
Oh yeah, the one Burbank created. Burbank won the animation Award.
So you can go take the kids and go see
these floats. Let's find out where and how long they're

(15:39):
gonna be around before they got to take them apart,
because those roses and flowers start to turn on you
and they've got to toss.

Speaker 3 (15:47):
Them all away.

Speaker 2 (15:47):
I don't know where they go, but they throw them
all away.

Speaker 3 (15:49):
You know.

Speaker 9 (15:49):
We talk about tradition in terms of camping out before
the parade or going to the parade or just watching
it at home, but let me tell you, float Fest
is just as big of a addition for lots of families.
You can come walk down the street and look how
close you can get to them and see all this
artistry and craftsmanship.

Speaker 3 (16:08):
It's incredible.

Speaker 9 (16:09):
Candy Carlson is here with the Tournament of Roses Parade
First of all, we've got to get the important stuff
out of the way. We know that security this year
is a big deal, as it usually is, but there
are other factors, of course that play into this.

Speaker 3 (16:23):
That is something that's top of.

Speaker 4 (16:25):
Mind, of course. And we have multiple layers of security,
and we are fortunate enough.

Speaker 2 (16:31):
To have which means no drinking.

Speaker 1 (16:32):
By the way, multiple layers of security means leave the
flask at home, leave the beer at home, leave the
cigarettes at home.

Speaker 2 (16:40):
That's what that means, of course.

Speaker 4 (16:42):
And we have multiple layers of security, and.

Speaker 2 (16:45):
That means the fun level has gone down five notches.

Speaker 4 (16:48):
We are fortunate enough to have cooperated and been working
with our federal, state and local partners.

Speaker 3 (16:57):
So multiple agencies.

Speaker 9 (16:58):
I mean we see some of these, uh some of
them working right now with dogs and things like that
going through.

Speaker 1 (17:05):
Let's get to the floats. We have to scare the
hell out of everybody every day.

Speaker 9 (17:09):
So all that to ensure that people can have a
fantastic time.

Speaker 2 (17:13):
Let's get to the float.

Speaker 4 (17:14):
Absolutely, it's a family friendly event.

Speaker 3 (17:16):
We have.

Speaker 4 (17:18):
Tons of entertainment that's happening, and.

Speaker 3 (17:21):
The food trucks that are here, yes, more.

Speaker 4 (17:23):
Importantly, and we also have a fun scavenger hunt for kids?

Speaker 2 (17:26):
Have you ever done that?

Speaker 7 (17:27):
Crow?

Speaker 2 (17:27):
Have you ever gone to see the floats after the parade?

Speaker 3 (17:30):
No?

Speaker 2 (17:30):
Never after the parade? Belly, Have you ever done that?
You go down to see those floats after the parade?

Speaker 7 (17:35):
I have not, but I would like to.

Speaker 2 (17:38):
I don't know, Angel, you ever done that? You see
the floats after that parade on TV?

Speaker 1 (17:43):
Steps you ever do that? You ever go see those
floats after that parade? What about you, Maddie? You ever
go see that floats after the parine?

Speaker 2 (17:53):
No? Nobody?

Speaker 4 (17:54):
Have you ever gone?

Speaker 2 (17:56):
I don't think I've ever gone to see the floats
after the.

Speaker 1 (18:00):
But I wonder how quickly the thrill wears off after
you see one, because they're probably five seconds. Yeah, I
imagine it's pretty quick because they're not moving. The ones
that are moving and the volcanoes exploding and the birds
are flying, those are all dead. Those are all stiff.
Nothing's going on. They're just the dead carcass of the float.

(18:23):
And once you see one and you're like, Okay, that's
pepper corn on that one, that's hay seed on that one,
I don't know if there's enough.

Speaker 8 (18:33):
I ask you this, You go to like target blows
home depot.

Speaker 2 (18:39):
I did last night. Yeah, nightly, I did last night.

Speaker 10 (18:43):
That doesn't wear off too And I don't see the
same things every night.

Speaker 2 (18:47):
Every aisles the same.

Speaker 1 (18:49):
I went to Walmart last night and we didn't they
didn't know the stuff we're looking. First, we went to
Target and I enjoyed both of those stores. I love
those stores. I don't know what it is, maybe the
smell may just walking around, but it's beautiful.

Speaker 2 (19:02):
I love them.

Speaker 7 (19:03):
Oh cool.

Speaker 4 (19:03):
So we have a little book that they can go
around and get stickers. And then we also have the
rose pedal bar.

Speaker 1 (19:10):
So ooh, now we're talking. Now we're talking the rose
pedal bar, the rose pedal bar.

Speaker 3 (19:16):
What's this?

Speaker 4 (19:17):
So put the kids on the scavenger huts and you
can have a good time as well.

Speaker 1 (19:23):
But listen, we're getting dong with this lady. She's picked
it up. She's picked it up.

Speaker 9 (19:28):
But listen where you're gonna earn that, because wear comfortable
shoes when you come out here.

Speaker 3 (19:32):
Two miles of road covered with.

Speaker 4 (19:34):
These floats and thirty nine floats, we have thirty nine, yes,
lots to see so much.

Speaker 9 (19:40):
So this has been such a big event that there
is a whole extra day added this year.

Speaker 4 (19:45):
Isn't that fabulous? Usually float Fest is two days, but
this year we have a third day. So if you
don't make it today, we love to have you here tomorrow.

Speaker 9 (19:54):
Yeah, and it's so cool to see it up close.
You know, I watched a lot of these floats being built,
but now that they're finished, I mean, it's fantastic, isn't it.

Speaker 4 (20:01):
It's seeing the little things. They look fantastic on TV,
and then all of a sudden you're like, is that
an onion.

Speaker 3 (20:08):
Wall made of potatoes?

Speaker 2 (20:09):
Yes, it's so bizarre.

Speaker 4 (20:10):
But every float has to be of all natural materials.
So once you see them up close, then you.

Speaker 3 (20:17):
Really get to understand them.

Speaker 4 (20:18):
And appreciate all of the hours, hard.

Speaker 3 (20:21):
Work, the little details that go into doing it.

Speaker 2 (20:23):
All right, let's find out where Floatfest is for you. Here,
we'll come back.

Speaker 1 (20:27):
I'll tell you where it is, what the hours, what
it costs to get in the whole run? Visit float
float Oh, I gotta be careful, float Fest, float Fest.

Speaker 2 (20:36):
All right, I got the information. We're come back.

Speaker 1 (20:38):
I'll tell you when it's gonna be today and tomorrow
nine am to five pm. Today, nine am to four
pm tomorrow and I'll tell you about ticket price and
where you can go and how you get involved if
that's your thing.

Speaker 6 (20:53):
You're listening to Tim Conway Junior on demand from kf
I AM six forty.

Speaker 1 (20:59):
All right, let's let me tell you where these floats
are if you want to go to float Fest twenty
twenty five.

Speaker 2 (21:06):
Float Fest, take the kids out there. Theyn't like that.

Speaker 1 (21:08):
Yeah, today, until five, I got about twenty five minutes
or so to get there might be a shine today,
but tomorrow tomorrow, January third, nine am to four pm.
Ticket sales end at two thirty pm and last entries
at three pm. Oh, last entry today is four pm,
So you are completely hosed. Today you're done. You're done.

(21:31):
You're done. Not today, it's not going to happen. As
much as you want to go, you're not going. But
tomorrow you can go. Nine am to four pm. Ticket
sales end at two thirty pm, last entries at three pm.
And my experience with the people run the Pasadena Rose Parade,
when they say three pm, they mean three pm. When

(21:54):
they say last ticket sales two thirty pm, there won't
be a single ticket sold after two. They are very
strict and very punctual. So don't screw around. Don't think
you can talk yourself in to coming in late. You can't.
It's not gonna happen. Float Fest twenty twenty five. All
the floats will be at Sierra Madre and Washington Boulevard

(22:17):
in Pasadena. Now, if you're not familiar with where that is,
you might be like me. It's right off the two
ten freeway. If you hop off to two ten at
I think it's Alta Dina or Sierra Madre Boulevard, you
go north about two blocks. If you know where Pasadena
High School is, boom, you nailed it. Passady in a
high school is right in that area. The only problem

(22:40):
you're going to have is a lot of blocked off streets,
not just the streets where the floats are on Washington
and Sierra Madre, but they block all of the streets
off around it because the neighbors used to complain that
people were walking through their yards. So you can't park
on any of those streets in that entire neighborhood. So
if you're going to Deville Family and Youth Service or

(23:04):
McDonald's on Altadena and Washington, well don't park in their
in their yard in their lot, because they'll tell you.
So it's a right opacity in high school go to
If you go to Pasady in high school, you'll be
able to find this. And it's a it's a cool
thing for kids. I think kids like it. I don't
know if you're an adult. Might not be enough there

(23:25):
for you, but it's a it's a only once in
a lifetime thing you might never ever get to go again.
Tickets all right, twenty five bucks for children under five
or free. Children under five are free, and for seniors
they have three words. For seniors, no senior discounts. How

(23:47):
friendly is that? No in big letters, no senior discounts.
Seniors on that fixed budget, you are screwed. You pay
your fair share. You seniors where you're not coming in.
All tickets are digital. Early booking is encouraged. Tickets sold
online only at sharpseating dot com. No cash, no credit

(24:12):
card sales on site.

Speaker 2 (24:14):
Got almighty. They make it almost impossible to see these things.

Speaker 1 (24:19):
Shuttle service and parking YEP can do free shuttle free service.
Parking near Floatfest is extremely limited, so the free shuttle
service will be available from Pasadena City College. Guests used
in the shuttle will enter the event through a priority line.
It's expected to close to close to one hundred and

(24:40):
fifty thousand visitors. I sorry, close to one hundred and
fifty thousand visitors. Shuttle location Pasadena City College. I think
everybody knows where that is, fifteen seventy East Colorado Boulevard,
So i'd get in there tomorrow again eight thirty am
to two thirty pm. Final departure is four thirty pm.

(25:00):
So those are the shuttle times. Shuttle runs approximately every
five minutes. Every five minutes, you can also go on metro.
Metro is going to be open. Take the Metro. I
think it's the a line out to see our Madre
and there'll be signs every ten minutes they run, so
that might be the easiest way to get out there.

(25:22):
All right, here's their animal policy. No pets allowed, No
pets allowed. Service animals are welcome, all right. And then tips,
tips tips for the day, wear comfortable shoes, all strollers, backpacks, purses,
and bags will be inspected before you enter the venue.

Speaker 2 (25:41):
Only clear bags are allowed.

Speaker 1 (25:43):
Strollers strollers might be tough to navigate because of the terrain.
Viewing of the floats require walking distance approximately two and
a half miles might take you about two hours. No bikes,
no skateboards, no roller skates, no tricycles, no segways, and
no wagons allowed. There might be food vendors there, so

(26:04):
you can get some food from the vendors before you start.
Agree on a meeting place. That's always fun. And also
please dispose of recyclable items in the mark or whatever. Also,
American sign language interpreters will be available. The clear bag
policy for security purposes only clear bags allowed. Please be
prepared to leave your purse in your car where it

(26:27):
could get ripped off.

Speaker 2 (26:28):
That's going to happen.

Speaker 1 (26:30):
And anyway, congratulations, I love the fact I'm on board
with them.

Speaker 2 (26:34):
No senior discounts. You know you have all the money anyway.

Speaker 1 (26:39):
You you invested right, you're you blew it out in
the stock market. You sold your home for a couple
million bucks. So got to pay your fair share? Is
that what Kamala Harris said. Kamala Harrison, pay your fair share?
You got to pay your fair share.

Speaker 3 (26:56):
I love.

Speaker 1 (26:58):
Yes, she was all right, Yes she let billionaires off
the hook. She said, just seniors on a fixed income,
you pay your fair share. I love that in big
bold letters. No senior discounts. That's a I've never I've
never think, I've never seen that before my life.

Speaker 2 (27:13):
No dogs, no old people. I've never seen those three
words in my life together. Never.

Speaker 1 (27:21):
People love seniors, they love giving them discounts, and then
big bold letters, no senior discounts. You know what they
should put a guy giving a middle finger after it,
you know, let them really get die hammered. There no
senior discounts. Seniors, you thought you're gonna get a steal.
You thought you're gonna have a good year and get
in for five bucks off. You got hosed like the

(27:43):
rest of us. So F you to the seniors. That's
what the floatfest is saying. F you to seniors. That's
what they should name it. F you seniors, that's what
they're saying. It's not me, don't look at me like that.
And they set it right here on their homepage. Twenty
five children under five free, No senior discounts none zero.

(28:07):
Don't brag about your age, don't tell us how many
how many years yelled?

Speaker 3 (28:12):
And you are you.

Speaker 1 (28:13):
Are like all of us scumbags. You got to pay
your fair share, so it'screw it. No no senior discounts.
I've never seen that in my life. I have never
ever seen that.

Speaker 3 (28:24):
Ever.

Speaker 6 (28:25):
You're listening to Tim Conway Junior on demand from kf
I Am six forty.

Speaker 2 (28:32):
The Conway Show.

Speaker 1 (28:32):
We got it bad news coming out of fort and Kroz,
who's been all over the story where we've had a
small plane crash, a small plane crash into a building
and there are a lot of people who have been
injured by this thing, and so you know, it's a
it's a horrible incident that had happened.

Speaker 2 (28:54):
Let me give you the first story on it. Then
we're gonna give you the update.

Speaker 1 (28:57):
I catch you up on what happened here, but Fulletin Airport,
and I think is where they were trying to land.

Speaker 10 (29:04):
Here, eleven people injured within the warehouse, but that's not
counting the people who were on board that small aircraft
that almost made it back to Fullerton Airport before crashing
into that commercial building. Here's the proximity of the airport,
which is actually shut down at this time due to
that crash. Now the streets here in the area are

(29:26):
going to be shut down because we do have a
lot of fire department and police personnel that are still
arriving on scene.

Speaker 7 (29:34):
In fact, that we just saw these four ambulances arrive
and most of the people who were injured have been
taken away.

Speaker 10 (29:41):
We do still see some people sitting there on the curb,
and we see that the fire department is taking the
vitals of these people. But for the most part, it
looks like they are doing relatively fine all things considered. Now,
as I move the shop over to the east along
Raymer Avenue, here, I'm going to show you that there's
a large group of people, and I believe it's the
group of people that Hetty was a reference referring to

(30:05):
during her report.

Speaker 7 (30:07):
You see them there.

Speaker 10 (30:08):
On the on the intersection of Raymond and Gilbert.

Speaker 1 (30:11):
Okay, that's where we are. Raymond and Gilbert. For people
familiar with that that part of Orange County, Fullerton, Raymond
and Gilbert is that the same airport.

Speaker 4 (30:20):
It is a it's that plane that would caused the
tower collapsed in two thousand and four.

Speaker 5 (30:24):
That was trial.

Speaker 2 (30:24):
The plane was going from Elmonty too full of tin.

Speaker 1 (30:27):
Okay, so the plane that crashed into the KFI tower
and brought it down, and I think one person died
in that in that incident, two two people died. That
was the same airport they're trying to land, the same
airport in Fullerton.

Speaker 2 (30:40):
Man. That is that's warmd the intersection.

Speaker 7 (30:43):
Of Raymond and Gilbert.

Speaker 10 (30:45):
So some of these people may have been the employees
in that building, and some of them may also be
employees from nearby buildings.

Speaker 7 (30:52):
Because again, there was some.

Speaker 10 (30:53):
Sort of explosion that occurred when this plane crashed, which
I'm sure drew a lot of people's attention. Ten people
came out of their buildings to see what was going on,
and what they saw was this very.

Speaker 7 (31:05):
Large furniture manufacturing building on fire.

Speaker 1 (31:08):
Okay, so that's what it is, furniture manufacturing. And you
know when you I'm sure this was happening, you know,
either this morning or slight or just before this plane crashed,
where the guys and the gals working manufacturing furniture, and
they were talking about, you know, the Sugar Bowl was

(31:28):
postponed because of this, you know, terrorist attack in New Orleans,
the cyber truck blowing up in Las Vegas right in
front of Trump Tower, the Tesla truck, and they were
probably discussing, you know, all the bad news. There was
an amber alert. Yesterday coming out of Inglewood. There was

(31:49):
a bar that got shot up in New York in
Queens and ten people got shot. And they were probably saying, man,
what a really horrible, horrible start to this year. And
then bang a plane comes right into the furniture manufacturing warehouse.

Speaker 2 (32:10):
I'm sure that happened. I'm sure that happened.

Speaker 1 (32:12):
People were discussing what a horrible start it was to
the air and then a plane flew right into.

Speaker 2 (32:20):
Their facility.

Speaker 7 (32:21):
Large furniture manufacturing building on fire.

Speaker 10 (32:24):
Now at this point we're not seeing any flames, but
when we first arrived non scene, we did have some smoke.

Speaker 7 (32:29):
But this building does.

Speaker 10 (32:30):
Appear to be equipped with sprinklers, which I am sure
helped with the firefight.

Speaker 7 (32:35):
And now, at least as far as.

Speaker 10 (32:37):
That goes, it looks like the fire is out for
the most part.

Speaker 11 (32:41):
Leanna, if you can't, please widen your shot. And you know,
we were talking about the traffic of a commercial area here,
so I'm sure a lot of people are going to
be impacted. Some of those streets that are impacted are
raymer Gilbert and Commonwealth. What would you recommend to anybody
who needs to drive around this particular area at this moment.

Speaker 7 (33:01):
Yeah, that's correct.

Speaker 10 (33:02):
Lots of these streets are absolutely vital for all of
these commercial buildings. But if you will normally travel through
the Fullerton area and you're trying to figure.

Speaker 7 (33:12):
Out what way you can go, I would take it
down to Orangethorpe. I would take Orangethorpe through here.

Speaker 10 (33:18):
You can actually stay north as well, if you can
take Malvern, which is this street here that still looks
completely open to me, that does become Chapman Avenue as you.

Speaker 7 (33:28):
Continue to the east. So those are two good alternates.

Speaker 10 (33:31):
Another great alternate is simply just stay on the ninety
one freeway to get through the Fullerton area and then
just bypass.

Speaker 7 (33:39):
Some of these street closures.

Speaker 10 (33:41):
But of course, if you live in the if you
work in some of these commercial buildings.

Speaker 7 (33:45):
You may be stuck for the time being until.

Speaker 10 (33:47):
The situation gets resolved, because even though your building may
not have been evacuated per se, at this point, these
streets are completely jammed up with prior department personnel, and
the best thing you can do is just stay indoors
until the situation result.

Speaker 1 (34:00):
Okay, so that's that's the basically what happened earlier today.
Let me give you an update here. If you're not
familiar with Fullerton, it essentially it's a fairly big town.

Speaker 2 (34:14):
It's Fulton College down there.

Speaker 1 (34:16):
It's a little bit north of the five freeway and
north of the ninety one and so it's where the
ninety one and the fifty seven meet. That's that's the
you know, north of that, and it's north of the
ninety one and west of the fifty seven. So that's
where Fulton is. And you've got the you know, the

(34:37):
college down there, Fulton College. You've got a lot of
warehouse and a lot of businesses in that area. That's
right in the corner where the ninety one and the
fifty seven meet. That's the industrial part of Fulton and
and that's where you know, there's a lot of manufacturing.
Once you get outside of that pocket, it's all residential,

(34:58):
with the exception of the shopping center it's over near
you know, on the west side of Fullerton, but most
of it it's all residential except for where you know,
the corner is the fifty seven and ninety one on
the northwest corner of that. Okay, so let's get an
update now that we know what happened. Let's see an

(35:19):
update that just came in. Just came in, and we'll
give you an update on casualties and see how things
have progressed.

Speaker 3 (35:28):
Here.

Speaker 12 (35:29):
The plane has crashed into a warehouse and Fullerton. You're
taking a live look at the aftermath of that plane crashed,
a small hole left behind there, the fire still burning.
You can see the sprinkler system has been activated as
firefighters finally get this fire under control. We understand there
have been a number of injuries, including eleven people transported
to the hospital, six people treated on the scene, and

(35:51):
one person has been killed. This all happened as that
small plane was attempting to land at Fullerton Airport. We
will have the very latest coming up reporting live seven
them Chris Christie, ABC seven.

Speaker 1 (36:02):
And I don't know where Fulletin Airport is, Krozy, Do
you know where fulletd Airport is? I don't know how
far they were to, you know, to making it or
not making it?

Speaker 2 (36:11):
Are really close? They were close?

Speaker 8 (36:14):
Yes?

Speaker 2 (36:14):
And what is what's happening with traffic in that area?

Speaker 8 (36:16):
Angel Well, Gilbert Avenue is closed right now between Malvern
and Artesia Boulevard, so they have that completely shut down
and as a result, see, there's not a lot of
north south streets in that area to use as alternates,
so a lot of people are Traffic's pretty heavy on
Malvern traveling east and west, as well as Commonwealth, and

(36:39):
I think Ileana suggested instead of Commonwealth just continue south
to Orangethorpe and use that instead. But it's just a
huge mess out there. I think you're the best. Another
north south alternate in that stretch is making your way
all the way over to Euclid to the east and

(37:00):
then to the west.

Speaker 4 (37:02):
It looks like it's it'll be Beach Boulevard.

Speaker 8 (37:04):
I mean, it's quite a shot, but there's some smaller
streets like Dale Street.

Speaker 1 (37:09):
Yeah, so that whole street is closed. Then that Gilbert
north and south all the way. Did you say from Malvin.

Speaker 8 (37:18):
From Artesia Avenue to Malvin Avenue, yes, Liments.

Speaker 1 (37:22):
Okay, so that isn't where the fifty seven, that's close
to the ninety one and the five, then yes it is.

Speaker 4 (37:29):
It is.

Speaker 8 (37:29):
It's right at the five. Ninety one north of that
is where the Fullerton Airport is, and then Gilbert Avenue
is just to the east of Fullerton Airport.

Speaker 1 (37:40):
Okay, so this is not far then, I mean if
you were, I think if you're right in that area,
if you went due south, you'd run into Knottsbury Farm.

Speaker 2 (37:48):
Is that in that area?

Speaker 8 (37:49):
Yeah, just to the south. It's Knotsbury farmle a little
bit west because knots is along Beach Boulevard, but it's
very close.

Speaker 2 (37:58):
All right.

Speaker 1 (37:59):
So that's where it is. It's the ninety one and
the five freeway. The ninety one and the five freeway,
so if you're traveling in that area, it looks like
the ninety one and the five are wide open. Though
it's not affecting any one of these places here, but
that's exactly where it's happened. And Crozier's right. I mean,
that is less than a quarter mile from the airport.

(38:23):
They nearly made it to that airport. And there's some
nice homes around there. You know, there's that Lakeside Drive
which is the Lakeside Master Association of if they still
call that or not.

Speaker 2 (38:35):
But there's a big pool.

Speaker 1 (38:37):
There and that big communal you know lake there with
the rec center, and there's some beautiful homes right there.
And that's like old school money, you where the golf
courses and anyway, so that's where it's happening, where the fifteen,
where the five and the ninety one meet directly north
of that, and so there's still a tremendous investigation there.

(39:01):
The airport, which is literally a quarter mile from where
they are, maybe less, and they nearly made it back
to the airport, and it just they slammed into a
furniture repair or furniture manufacturing facility. And if we have
any updates, so which I'm sure we will, we will
have that for you when we get them. We are
