We are moments away from the Los Angeles Dodgers and
game time against the San Diego Padres. Maybe you're stuck
in traffic. You probably are, although now I'm looking at
(00:21):
the stadium. There are a lot of people in there
now over the last ten to fifteen minutes. I don't
know where. Maybe people are up grabbing a beer or
a hot dog, or I don't know, a sandwich or
some kind of sushi dish or burritos, whatever they got
out there, but it looks like a lot of people
have packed into their seats. I'm watching it on Channel
(00:41):
eleven right now, and man, it is going to be
some game the entire season. Shoho Tani's unbelievable season his
first time in the playoffs. He had fifty to fifty
this year, the first guy ever to be in the
fifty to fifty club. Fifty home runs, fifty stolen bases.
He had more than fifty in each category and he's
(01:04):
never been to the playoffs before his very first playoff
series against the Padres, They've got to win tonight. This
city is counting on these Dodgers to win it tonight.
No pressure, but lots of pressure, lots of pressure. Let's
get some more information. If you're stuck in traffic, don't panic.
(01:26):
You'll get there and we'll keep you busy until you
slide into the stadium. And then you can shut us
off and walk into the stadium. You know, just to
ignore us and walk into the stadium. It's totally uncool,
but I get it. I get it. Unless you have
a small trends, it's to radio can drag us in
there as well.
Speaker 2 (01:43):
LA's ready for Game five of the NLDS. It's wien

Speaker 5 (02:17):
It couldn't have like been a more storybook ending.
Speaker 1 (02:19):
To That's my kind of guy.
Speaker 4 (02:20):
How excited are you for this?
Speaker 1 (02:21):
Oh man, I'm freaking soak dude. It couldn't have like
been a more storybook ending to this.
Speaker 6 (02:25):
That's right, we can edit that a little better here,
Like San Diego, we to we're gonna do it.
Speaker 1 (02:33):
This is like the World Series to right here, right now,
we're gonna do it.
Speaker 3 (02:36):
How excited are you for this?
Speaker 7 (02:37):
Oh man?
Speaker 1 (02:38):
So couldn't have like been the more knocked it out
first time around?
Speaker 4 (02:44):
How excited are you for this?
Speaker 8 (02:45):
Oh man?
Speaker 9 (02:46):
So couldn't have like been a more storybook.
Speaker 1 (02:48):
Yeah, that's great.
Speaker 4 (02:49):
How excited are you for this?
Speaker 1 (02:50):
Oh man? So couldn't have like stoked?
Speaker 4 (02:53):
How excited are you for this?
Speaker 1 (02:54):
Oh man, I'm freaking soak dude. It couldn't have like
been a more storybook ending to this.
Speaker 9 (02:58):
You know, we were supposed to win the last game.
Speaker 1 (03:00):
And we pulled that out.
Speaker 2 (03:01):
The National Division Series has come down to this single game.
After the Dodgers routed the padres ate nothing insid They
need to keep that momentum up tonight if they want
to avoid a third straight season of losing in the NLDS.
Speaker 1 (03:13):
Yeah, if they lose tonight. They were lost to the
Padres Arizona and the Padres in the first round of
the playoffs. Horrible.
Speaker 9 (03:22):
How confident are read they're going to win tonight?
Speaker 1 (03:24):
I like that. I like these people very positive. That's
we need in the stadium. Positivity.
Speaker 10 (03:31):
Like I've been telling everybody, Game five is in Los Angeles,
not San Diego, not in New York, not Philadelphia. You're
the best team, best record in baseball, and we are
going to take care of business today.
Speaker 2 (03:43):
These fans were smart. They got here early. It's a
big game with a set.
Speaker 1 (03:47):
Okay, they were listening to kfive.
Speaker 10 (03:49):
And we are going to take care of business today.
Speaker 1 (03:51):
Okay, these sound like KFI listeners. I'll tell you why.
Speaker 2 (03:53):
These fans were smart. They got here early.
Speaker 1 (03:56):
They are KFI listeners.
Speaker 2 (03:58):
These fans were smart, they got here early.
Speaker 1 (04:01):
Yes, these fans are smart. They got here, they got
here early.
Speaker 2 (04:06):
These fans were smart, they got here early. It's a
big game with a sellout crowd. On a Friday night
in LA the lots opened early to try and ease
the traffic, and one of those early fans was Kiara Vasquez,
who's from Utah and has never seen the Dodgers play
in person.
Speaker 1 (04:21):
I'm excited.
Speaker 8 (04:22):
I'm really excited.
Speaker 1 (04:22):
It's my first Dodgers game, so.
Speaker 8 (04:24):
It's gonna be really fun.
Speaker 9 (04:24):
You chose a good one to come.
Speaker 6 (04:26):
I did.
Speaker 4 (04:26):
I'm really excited.
Speaker 9 (04:26):
I hope they win, all right?
Speaker 2 (04:28):
She told us she is anxious, she is nervous, but
she is excited. That perfectly describes a deciding Game five
here in the NLDS. We want to coin now again.
In that game, too, the umpires wouldn't continue playing until
there was extra security placed in the outfield to make
sure that there were no shenanigans coming.
Speaker 1 (04:45):
There's no shenanigans, all right. The Dodger lineup for night again.
Maybe you're stuck in your car, you're trying to get
a Dodger stadium. We have the lineup for you.
Speaker 11 (04:53):
Here.
Speaker 8 (04:53):
The Dodger fans are pouring into Dodger Stadium. Really proud
of them because it's a tough time to be driving
on the LA Freeways to get here. But the fans
seem to be getting here early. Remember, going back on
March twentieth, the Dodgers down the Padres open up the
new Major League Baseball season in South Korea.
Speaker 1 (05:11):
They split two games there.
Speaker 8 (05:12):
Here we are one hundred and sixty two regular season
games later, four playoff games later, and it's come down.
Speaker 1 (05:18):
To a one game. A little take.
Speaker 8 (05:20):
Call to determine who earns the spot in the NLCS
against the Mets on Sunday. The Dodgers are thirteen and
seven in the elimination games under Dave Roberts.
Speaker 1 (05:30):
Oh, there's a good stat. How about that stat?
Speaker 8 (05:32):
The Dodgers are thirteen and.
Speaker 1 (05:34):
Seven, thirteen and seven in elimination game.
Speaker 8 (05:37):
The Dodgers are thirteen and seven in the elimination games
under Dave Roberts, and Roberts is granting Sho Heil Tani's wish,
Yoshinobo Yamamoto and you Darvish, both starting in Game five,
the first matchup of Japanese born starting pitchers in Major
League Baseball postseason history.
Speaker 11 (05:54):
Setting the tone by thowing of Bazeri would be huge.
Speaker 1 (05:58):
How about that? Two Japanese pitchers and the first guy
to bat for the home team Japanese. This game has
got to be a huge hit in Japan. Wow, it's
got to be got.
Speaker 11 (06:10):
To be Also, it kind of gets us into the game,
gets us up to hitting, and also just kind of
seeing where he's at emotionally and with his stuff. So I'm,
like everyone else, just curious to see how he's going
to come out, but feel that he's ready.
Speaker 1 (06:25):
For He's going to be great. He's going to be great,
all right? Speaking of Japan, how is this game being
viewed in Japan right now?
Speaker 6 (06:32):
For the Dodgers and Padre season opening series in Soeul,
South Korea, drew over seventeen million viewers in Japan, more
than doubling the amount that watched Japanese baseball legend Ichido
Suzuki in the same series in twenty nineteen. But Tonight's
Game five could very well become the most watched AMLB
game in Japanese broadcasting history.
Speaker 1 (06:54):
Wow about that? All right? For people wondering, I know
you're all wondering, what time is it in Japan right now?
It's nine fifteen or nine twelve in the morning. It
is nine to fifteen AM, So Japan is just starting
their Saturday and they flip on the TV and there
(07:14):
you go, Morning Baseball Andres and Dodge.
Speaker 12 (07:17):
We were talking before about how there are eleven Japanese
players currently in Major League Baseball. The team with the
most Japanese players is Seattle. They have three. Dodgers obviously
got two, then San Diego. I don't if they have
more than just the one pitcher, but that's six right
off the bat. That's more than half of the total
for Major League Baseball on the West Coast.
Speaker 1 (07:37):
Yeah, yeah, that is a crazy stat and this game
huge in Japan far as one two.
Speaker 10 (07:43):
To a half.
Speaker 1 (07:45):
Looking good one batter end.
Speaker 6 (07:47):
Blake's off occurves with both team season on the line.
Yoshinobu Yamamoto will take his place on the mound and
in Major League Baseball history. Tonight, Yemomoto is starting opposite
the padres you Darvish, making this the first MLB postseason
matchup between two Japanese born pitchers.
Speaker 2 (08:05):
This is one of the most significant moments for the
Japanese slash Japanese American communities, or.
Speaker 11 (08:12):
Maybe the entire Asian communities as well.
Speaker 8 (08:15):
Yeah, I'm pretty looking forwards.
Speaker 6 (08:17):
Of course, the Dodgers also have the biggest Japanese star
in the game, who knows the thing or two about
making history himself. Last month, Shohio Tani became the first
Major League baseball player to hit fifty home runs and
steal fifty bases. Here's what he had to say about
Darbish and Yamamoto facing off on the field.
Speaker 11 (08:34):
Puisin tiking, what are you.
Speaker 1 (08:42):
Football? Puisin ticking?
Speaker 10 (08:44):
Silks tanness.
Speaker 6 (08:46):
It's a sentiment that shared across dugouts, it seems desmoue
the attempts growing rivalry between the two teams. There is
some common after all, yam momobile Ya Mamodo yum Momobile.
(09:06):
Yamamoto and Darvish's hometowns our two hour bus ride away
from each other. Show Hey is from Oshu, about six
hundred miles north. The game will start at nine a m.
Saturday morning in Japan. Certainly a lot of alarms are
set for Yamamoto's first pitch, so there's a lot of
excitement in Japan. All these superstars. As we all know
shohe is gigantic. But you know Dodgers, They've been steeped
(09:29):
in Japanese history for quite some time, from Hedeo Nomo
Danny in the nineties. Yeah, but also even before that,
the O'Malley's had the Dodgers touring Japan in the fifties
doing exhibition games to promote American baseball.
Speaker 1 (09:42):
So that's great, okay. So it's nine to fifteen in
the morning at in Japan. It is five to fifteen
in the afternoon here on a Friday. It's Saturday morning
in Japan. The Dodgers are playing the Pandres. Whoever wins
this game will play the Mets at home, either at
Dodger Stadium or at the Padres Stadium. And so the Padres,
(10:05):
I'm sorry, the Mets are already here in southern California
because they're going to work out tomorrow, either at Dodger
Stadium or in San Diego, and so they're already here.
They flew in, I believe this afternoon. I read that
online somewhere, and this is I can't believe. When I'm
watching the game right now, it looks like everybody's standing.
(10:27):
I think this is going to be a standing game.
I think everyone's gonna be standing for most of this game,
except for the really, really wealthy people in the lower seats.
And whether you get free food, do you know that crows,
you get free food down there with the with the
really good seats.
Speaker 9 (10:40):
Have you ever been in those seats?
Speaker 1 (10:42):
Never been in those seats. Now the rich getting richer,
free food for the rich. That's great. All I rely
on KFI.
Speaker 13 (10:48):
You're listening to Tim Conway Junior on demand from KFI
AM six forty KFI AM Sick.
Speaker 1 (10:56):
Morning's Conway Show. We'll keep an eye on the Dodger game.
Maybe you're stuck in traffic. It's going to take you
another half hour forty five minutes to get in there.
But once you get in there, you'll enjoy yourself. Grab beer,
grab a Dodger dog and sit back and watch this game.
It's do or die for both teams, the Padres and
the Dodgers. Whoever wins. We'll play the New York Mets
either in San Diego or in Los Angeles on Sunday,
(11:18):
so we'll keep you updated. All right, Fashion Island, Remember
those suspects that I'm knocked off? A guy, a couple
here from Australia doing what people do as tourists, going
to a mall shopping thinking it's very safe, which it
is down in Newport, and then all hell broke loose?
(11:39):
Will those suspects who fled those igh speed persuit cops
caught them? They are being denied bail.
Speaker 14 (11:47):
Preman accused of killing a tourist at Fashion Island Mall
were denied bail again today in a Santa Ana court room.
In descator say. The woman from New Zealand was run
over by one of the suspects during the July robbery.
The Mayor of Newport Beach attendant today's hearing for the
victims family and spoke to Fox eleven afterwards.
Speaker 7 (12:03):
Bail has been denied, which means that here in Orange
County they will have served for at least ten fifteen,
twenty times longer than the twenty six year old served
in Los Angeles, despite the fact in Los Angeles he
fled no contest to an armed robbery. This is a
miscarriage of justice that happened in Los Angeles that allowed
for a murder to happen in Orange County.
Speaker 14 (12:24):
Mayor Will O'Neil, talking about the getaway driver in the crime.
That suspect was on probation in La County after a
plea deal for an armed robbery in Santa Monica. He
spent just five days in jail for that felony before
allegedly taking part in this similar crime in Newport Beach.
Speaker 1 (12:40):
Okay, well, Los Angeles should be a shame to that guy.
He was arrested for armed robbery in La County and
served five days in jail.
Speaker 14 (12:55):
After a plea deal for an armed robbery in Santa Monica,
he spent just five days in jail.
Speaker 1 (13:00):
Five days in jail, they went to Newport Beach allegedly
and killed somebody. That is a huge, huge embarrassment and
we should all be ashamed. Did we let this guy? Look,
I would assume that, you know, if I got drunk
(13:21):
in public and I got arrested, I assumed I would
spend a couple of nights in jail, you know, just
for being drunk in public, because if you get arrested
on a Friday, they may hold you over until Monday
to see the judge. And this guy armed robbery, five
days in jail, that's outrageous, outrageous.
Speaker 14 (13:44):
After a plea deal for an armed robbery in Santa Monica,
he spent just five days in jail for that felony
before allegedly taking part in this similar crime in Newport Beach.
Back in July, Lle County DA George Gascon told Fox
eleven there wasn't enough evidence to convict him in the
Santa monic kicks.
Speaker 1 (14:01):
God, man, is that going to hurt George gascon in
about two and a half or three weeks? All right,
gas prices. Everybody's buying gas. Maybe you're buying gas right now.
You just pull up to a gas station and you're
probably thinking, I know that. How do you know where it?
Just pull up to a gas station. I like you shot,
Just take a shot here.
Speaker 15 (14:22):
Big regulators in Sacramento are considering new rules on refineries
that could send gas prices even higher in our state.
Some analysts say drivers in California could see spikes of
sixty five cents more per gallon.
Speaker 1 (14:36):
What you gotta be kidding?
Speaker 15 (14:38):
Men could see spikes of sixty five cents more per gallon.
Speaker 1 (14:42):
We can't afford that.
Speaker 15 (14:43):
The California Air Resources Board will vote next month on
the plan. Refineries would have to pay more to make
diesel and gas.
Speaker 1 (14:51):
When does it stop in California when they have all
the money, When the government has all the money through
taxes and fees and high prices, When they have it all,
will that be enough?
Speaker 15 (15:03):
They would pay less to make lower carbon fuels, such
as renewable diesel. Now the higher cost would likely be
not likely They will be passed on the consumers. The
board won't say how much gas prices would spike. Some
lawmakers accuse the board of not being transparent.
Speaker 1 (15:18):
Oh my god, it never ends in California, never ever ends.

of these high prices in California? Here's how you can

inning zero zero. Keep an eye on that for you.
Maybe you're on your way to the stadium right now
and you got caught in traffic. As you vote no
by down Friday for a three day weekend, there's gonna
be traffic. I told you to leave early yesterday and
you didn't, So this one's on you, all right. Yesterday
we followed the breaking news all afternoon the shooting on
(17:16):
the five North Freeway just before the East La interchange,
and now details are coming out on exactly what happened.
It took them a long time to get the details.
A very big crime scene stretching over I don't know.
It looks like a quarter mile or so, and a
lot of there's suspects, there's innocent people. It has all
(17:38):
the signs of a really crazy you know, ten to
fifteen seconds on a Los Angeles freeway. Let's find out
exactly what happened yesterday.
Speaker 3 (17:48):
California Highway Patrol investigators continue the service for two armed
suspects who they say were involved in a deadly road
rage incident here on the freeway and Boil Heights. Sky
Fox was over the scene where the passenger inside this
gold Cadillac was shot dead. The driver seriously injured and
rushed to the hospital. The shooting unfolding on the north.
Speaker 1 (18:06):
So the person that was shot and killed had nothing
to do with the incident nothing. They weren't driving, there
were just a passenger in the car.
Speaker 3 (18:14):
The shooting unfolding on the north found lanes of the
five Freeway near Lorraina Street after an alleged road rage
incident on surface streets spilled onto the freeway. CHP investigators
say that gold Cadillac we reranded an uninvolved car and
that's when they say two armed suspects got out of
the dark colored dodged Durango and opened fire on the Cadillac.
Speaker 16 (18:32):
The driver of the Durango fled the sea. We believe
it's two Hispanic mal adults.
Speaker 1 (18:39):
Trying to escape the gunfire.
Speaker 3 (18:40):
The driver, they say, made a U turn, colliding with
several other.
Speaker 1 (18:43):
Vehicles before coming to a stop.
Speaker 3 (18:45):
The driver in the Cadillac seriously injured and the passenger
died from their injuries.
Speaker 16 (18:49):
Hopefully they catch him soon because we don't know what
their intentions are.
Speaker 1 (18:52):
That's right, very smart woman here.
Speaker 16 (18:55):
Hopefully they catch him soon because we don't know what
their intentions are, if to hurt more people or or not.
Speaker 3 (19:01):
The CHP says several other vehicles were hit by gunfire
apart from those involved, but fortunately none of those people
were injured. The shooting and homicide investigation shutting down parts
of the northbound freeway and snarling traffic for miles.
Speaker 16 (19:14):
Oh, it's absolutely dangerous to the public. You're got vehicles
stopped and stop and go traffic at you know, four
or five o'clock in the afternoon on a major artery.
People getting out and walking up on a car fighting
shooting other people. It's just detrimental to the public.
Speaker 10 (19:30):
Safety.
Speaker 3 (19:30):
Investigators are asking for anyone who may have been on
the freeway and captured the incident or that dark color
dodged Durrango on dash can video to contact the CHP
in Boil Heights near the five Freeway.
Speaker 9 (19:41):
I'm Mario Ramirez, Fox eleven News.
Speaker 1 (19:43):
All right, we'll keep an eye on that, on the
investigation and see if I'm if they can find these
two guys. But it's just a it's another it's another sign.
It's another signal. It's another warning. Stop with the road
rage in LA. It's not worth it to lose your
(20:05):
life over honking at a guy or flipping a guy off.
It's just not worth it. So let's please slow down.
Dodgers have just hit a home run. Dodgers go up.
They had a guy on, they had Muncy on first.
He got picked off on a double play. Ye Keiki
Hernandez just hit that ball to Griffith Park.
Speaker 12 (20:27):
It was funny because as soon as the pitcher let
it go, man, he knew it walked away from the mound.
Speaker 1 (20:32):
Yeah, he left one hanging for a guy who's made
a living, you know, putting those things in the parking lot.
Oh my, look at that key a Hernandez, and he
knew it when he hit it it was gone. He
just it just it was a matter of how many
rows up it was gonna be. Wow. He clabbored that.
That looks like that's twenty rows up, maybe twenty five. Wow.
(20:55):
What a hit, what a smash. Dodgers up one nothing
in the second thanks to Keik Hernandez. Dodgers won Padres
nothing in the second. I we'll give you updates all
afternoon long. This is a huge game for Dodger fans.
And if you if you grew up a Dodger fan.
The first time I went to the stadium was nineteen
(21:17):
sixty nine, maybe in nineteen seventy. It was miniature bat night.
I remember that. I remember they played. I think it
was I didn't can remember who they played. Now, I
was young, give you a break. It was nine, you know,
six seven eight, I don't know. I would have been six.
I would have been six years old. And my dad
was a big Dodger fan, and so he would take us.
(21:37):
We had a tradition in our house that my dad
would take us out of school for Opening Day every year,
and which was great. It turned us into Dodger fans
because we could get out of school. That game always
started around one o'clock, and we would get out of
school early. My dad would pick us up around ten
thirty eleven o'clock. We'd head out to the stadium and
we'd watch Opening Day at Dodger Stadium. And I remember
(21:58):
nineteen eighty at the stadium Opening Day, sitting there and
watching a brand new pitcher that nobody ever heard of before,
named Fernando Valenzuela. Maybe you've heard of him now, And
he won his Opening Day nineteen eighty at Dodger Stadium,
and he went on I think he went on to
get the Cy Young that year. I remember he had
(22:18):
four or five, six, seven games of a shutout ball.
It was a remarkable time to be a Dodger fan.
And then the next year, nineteen eighty one, they beat
the Yankees in the World Series. And then in nineteen
eighty eight, just seven years later, they beat the A's
in the World Series. And that was when Kirk Gibson
hit that home run that won the first game in
(22:39):
the bottom of the ninth, the two run walk off
home run in the bottom of the ninth that Angel
Martinez was at that game but had to get home
to make some sandals at what age twelve and missed?
Where were you when that ball was hit?
Speaker 17 (22:56):
My back was towards the field. I was at the
top of the stairs making left turn to walk to
the gate to get out to my car.
Speaker 1 (23:03):
So how much time did you save? Fifteen twenty seconds?
Speaker 17 (23:07):
Well, as soon as we saw what was happening and
everything where I was like, oh my gosh, and we
stopped for a moment, and then we just looked at
each other and said, let's go, well, listen to the
rest of the game. And so we ran out to
the car and picked up the rest of it.
Speaker 1 (23:20):
That is such a great Dodger fan. That is so
typical Los Angeles fan. Hey, let's get the hell out
of here. Wait, this might be the greatest hit in
the history of baseball. Scrow it. Let's get to the car.
That's so great. All right, let's take a break. Dodgers
one podres nothing after two innings, and we'll keep you
updated all afternoon on the score.
Speaker 13 (23:41):
You're listening to Tim Conway Junior on demand from KFI
AM six forty am.
Speaker 1 (23:47):
Sixty Conway Show, Dodger's up one nothing in the third inning,
top of the third inning. We'll keep you up on
the score of that game. All you got other news
to get into. Laundry pods on TikTok. No good, these
TikTok challenges and TikTok trends. They increase the potential of
(24:09):
children getting poisoned.
Speaker 18 (24:12):
New concerns. Certain social media trends are putting kids at risk.
But it's the parents, not the children, unintentionally creating the danger.
But what parents do it by choosing certain esthetics.
Speaker 19 (24:23):
We looked at social media trends over a four year period.
There were more than nearly eight hundred thousand mentions or
displays of ticking laundry packets out of their containers and
putting them in clear jars.
Speaker 1 (24:38):
Okay, we do that. I didn't know I was putting
anybody in danger. We do that, do that at home
and there, Yeah, it looks great. Nearly eight okay, eight
hundred thousand people doing this.
Speaker 19 (24:51):
Ticking laundry packets out of their containers and putting them
in clear jars.
Speaker 1 (24:56):
Right, well, it just looks better. Okay, sorry, sorry.
Speaker 19 (25:01):
That's putting style over safety.
Speaker 12 (25:04):
Okay, Okay, you did say, then Southern California is the
look at me?
Speaker 1 (25:08):
Plus sure it is style over safety. That should be laundry.
That should be the name of this town. Style over safety,
putting style over safety. Yeah, it should be the name
of Los Angeles. Change the name too, style over safety,
Style over safety.
Speaker 18 (25:21):
I like that the American Cleaning Institute is sounding the
alarm over hashtag clean talk.
Speaker 1 (25:27):
What to brag that is to be a member of
the American Cleaning Institute, to be American. I'm a member
of the American Cleaning Institute.
Speaker 18 (25:34):
In a survey, the group found thirty six percent of
Americans believe putting gel laundry pods and decorative containers can
enhance their laundry space.
Speaker 1 (25:43):
Okay, well, I don't know that's why we do it.
I think we do it because when you go to
use those pods, if you keep in the original container,
you've got to work it. You got to work that
jar to open it, you know, the one that it
comes in from the supermarket. Because there's a lock on
it and you can't really pull it off easily, so
you say screw it and you put them all into
(26:04):
a glass jar. That's what we do.
Speaker 18 (26:05):
And twelve percent of them are already doing it. But
that aesthetic choice can also make those chemicals more appealing
to your toddler.
Speaker 1 (26:12):
Okay, well, we don't have toddlers around the house, but
I get it. If you have toddlers around the house,
you got to do a lot of things to keep
them alive.
Speaker 19 (26:19):
You need to keep those products out of sight and
out of the reach of children.
Speaker 1 (26:24):
You know, Krozier, when you and I were growing up,
our parents. You know, my dad had six kids, my
mom dad had six kids, and I don't remember once
in my life any outlets in our house being covered
and with those children's safety locks on them.
Speaker 12 (26:41):
And forks were readily available everywhere, forks and knives.
Speaker 1 (26:44):
I one remember my brother's sticking a knife into a
socket and it popped.
Speaker 9 (26:49):
Yeah, perc yeah, yeah, quick, Oh my god.
Speaker 1 (26:54):
And then you've thought, oh my god, we're gonna be
in trouble. I mean, I'm glad he didn't die, but
we're gonna be in.
Speaker 9 (26:58):
A lot of times.
Speaker 12 (26:59):
You either got you either got the knife in the
little slot or you got it close and little arc happen.
Speaker 1 (27:04):
That's right. It sparked, it sparked, it knocked him on
his ass. Yes, But when I when my daughter was
growing up, man, I had everything. I had the cabinet locks,
I had the drawer locks. I had the pads on
the side of the of the coffee table. And if
I didn't have those, if we were on vacation, they
didn't happen.
Speaker 6 (27:24):
With me.
Speaker 1 (27:24):
I would bring duct tape with me and and duct
tape towels to the corners.
Speaker 12 (27:29):
Did you say the the the anti opening cabinet things.
Speaker 1 (27:33):
Yep. Had all those little hooks, had all of those,
every one of them. I covered every outlet. You know,
if you had to use anything in our house, you
had to undo the outlet, take that child proof thing off.
And man, it was a lot of work to do
anything around the house.
Speaker 9 (27:47):
How did we get to be adults.
Speaker 8 (27:48):
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (27:49):
I don't know how we all made it. But I
remember something my wife hates, but I'm gonna roll it
out anyway. Take a shot. Being quite weak getting around
the house. But I remember going home. We lived in
Tarzana way back when, you know, twenty twenty years ago,
maybe it got to be less seventeen years ago, and
(28:11):
we had a pool and I got home and the
gate to the pool was open, and my daughter was
only one or two at the time, and the door
was unlocked, and the gate to the pool was open,
and I said, Jenna said, I told you you've got
to shut that gate to the pool, and I'm not
(28:35):
going to tell you again. And I locked it and
I put a lock on it, and I was the
only one.
Speaker 9 (28:42):
With the key.
Speaker 1 (28:43):
And that made her crazy because whenever she wanted to
use the pool, she would have to find me to
get the key to unlock it. And if I were
at work, she would have to get a ladder to
go over the fence to get to the pool. But
I could live with that. I could live with that.
I could not live with my daughter falling into that pool.
(29:07):
I could not live with that. I could live with
jen being pissed, and she was. But that gate was
locked always.
Speaker 12 (29:17):
And uh, that probably didn't happen too many times, did it?
After like the first time off her being pissed?
Speaker 1 (29:23):
Oh yeah, oh no, Oh, she got pissed all the time.
Speaker 9 (29:25):
But I kept doing it.
Speaker 1 (29:27):
Oh, she never had the key because I I'm a
one off guy like that. I had I had the
only key to it.
Speaker 9 (29:35):
You let me know when you're mature enough to handle
the key.
Speaker 1 (29:38):
You let me know when you want to use the pool.
I'll open that gate and then i'll close it and
lock it when you're done. But I'm not going to
give you the key. That's not gonna happen. I know
a lot of people think I'm huge a hole, but
I just couldn't. Couldn't deal with the alternative, couldn't deal
with it. Just I'm not built that way, not built
(29:59):
that way where I can and deal with stuff like that.
Just do a right Dodgers. In the third inning, one
nothing Dodgers Pever Wins goes on to play the New
York Mets. The New York Mets. This is a win
or go home or stay home situation. Yeah, to be winner,
(30:21):
stay home situation or winner go home for the Padres.
Speaker 9 (30:25):
It is going to be electric in here.
Speaker 5 (30:27):
Yes, as Dodger fans have been waiting for this moment,
so exciting. The series tied two to two, so tonight
it's Steward's ie.
Speaker 1 (30:33):
Yes, here we go. There is so much.
Speaker 5 (30:36):
At stake, the season on the line tonight. The winner
of tonight's game going on to play the New York
Mets in the NLCS. The winner of that series will
go to the World Series.
Speaker 1 (30:45):
That's right, and security is going to be very tight
tonight at this stadium.
Speaker 2 (30:50):
LA's ready for Game five of the NLDS. It's wiener
go home for the Dodgers again, winner go home.
Speaker 1 (30:56):
We got a lot of stories on these Dodgers and
we will keep updated all afternoon long here. Right now,
the third inning is over, so Dodgers won, pandres nothing
after three. Maybe you saw this last night, Maybe you
have relatives. I got pictures from family in Detroit and
(31:16):
Canada that they saw the northern lights last night. It
was spectacular, and maybe you have some relatives that sent
you pictures as well. It was unreal.
Speaker 20 (31:26):
This dazzling display from space was captured Monday by astronauts
Aurora Borealis, triggered by a surge in solar activity from space.
Speaker 4 (31:36):
Sparked by a very intense flare on the service of
the Sun.
Speaker 20 (31:40):
It's caused by something called a coronal mass ejection. Something
called a coronal mass ejection.
Speaker 9 (31:48):
And a medical term that could have been better.
Speaker 20 (31:51):
Coronal mass ejection.
Speaker 1 (31:53):
You imagine going to the emergency room, what's wrong with you?
Speaker 20 (31:56):
Coronal mass ejection?
Speaker 1 (31:58):
Coronal massive if you know what I mean.
Speaker 20 (32:03):
Baronal mass ejection. If it sounds fancy, that's because it is.
It happens when gases on the Sun explode violently.
Speaker 1 (32:11):
Oh so it is the same thing.
Speaker 20 (32:13):
It happens when gases on the Sun explode violently.
Speaker 1 (32:16):
Causing it's the sunfart is what it is.
Speaker 20 (32:19):
Causing those pops of blues seen here and images from Noah,
and potentially triggering severe interference reaching all the way to Earth.
Speaker 4 (32:28):
That could effect GPS, power grids, radio communication systems.
Speaker 1 (32:32):
Then did it no?
Speaker 20 (32:34):
RAJ Dix It with the Sacramento Valley Astronomical ra Dixon
with the Sacramento Valley Astronomical Society snapped these photos of
the Northern lights. RAJ Dixon with the Sacramento Valley Astronomical Society.
Speaker 1 (32:47):
Astronomical Society. Wow, what a big society astronomical society? Is
that society? Astronomical Astronomical Yeah, I like that guy's name.
Speaker 20 (32:55):
RAJ Dixon with the Sacramento Valley Astronomical Society, snapped these
photos of the Northern lights in May from Placerville. He
says people have a similar chance to see the same
stunning sits in parts of California Thursday into Friday. But
with the dazzling display comes real implications. Noah warning the
solar spectacle could hamper efforts.
Speaker 21 (33:16):
Happening right now.
Speaker 20 (33:17):
Everybody didn't to coordinate rescues and communication on the ground
after Hurricane Milton.
Speaker 4 (33:23):
Intense discharges from the sun during this type of event
can figure blackouts and other problems.
Speaker 21 (33:29):
Last time there was a blackout was back in the eighties.
But good news so far, no reports of interference right
now on the ground there in Florida the solar storm, though,
as I mentioned, they've extended that warning until tomorrow night,
and Roger says the best chance for you to see
them here in northern California between eight thirty.
Speaker 1 (33:46):
And nine o'clock.
Speaker 21 (33:47):
And then you heard Nick say you gotta look due
north and turn the exposure up.
Speaker 1 (33:53):
Okay, yeah, we have towitch light here. We're too far
south to have seen it. But do you get any
relatives when your friends send you photos.
Speaker 12 (34:00):
Someone posted a photo my wife showed me last night
because because we've been saying, we've been talking about this,
and they were talking about how the lights would be
seen as far south as basically northern California. But Jen
showed me something from one of those next door apps
or whatever last night that showed someone in Claremont posting
a couple pics of like and they said they sort
of like filtered and washed with some of the colors
(34:22):
to accentuate it, but they you could see some of
the different different colors and Claremont.
Speaker 1 (34:29):
That's a cool deal, cool deal. All right, did Dodger
update for you. In the fourth inning, top of the
fourth Dodgers won Pondres zero. Very tight game, yeah, very
fast game. I mean, look, they they're not even playing
an hour yet and they've already had four They're into
the fifth, fourth inning, almost halfway through. Thing don We're
