Speaker 1 (00:00):
It's KFI Am sixty and you're listening to the Conway
Show on demand on the iHeartRadio app. Lots of news
to get to, tons of news to get to, and
almost too much news.

Speaker 2 (00:14):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (00:14):
With this kid who allegedly shot and killed Brian Thompson,
the CEO of United Healthcare, that's a big story. Daniel
Penney in New York found not guilty of choking out
a guy on a on a subway car. The sant
Ana Wins are going to start to kick in and
we'll have a story on that shortly. Plus the fall
of Syria over the weekend. If you saw that, and

(00:38):
what happens to Syria now, what that looks like in
five years or ten years. And the latest news here
a stabbing or two stabbings at Dugo Hills High School,
Fordugo Hills. For people who are unfamiliar with where that is,
it's on the two ten, right off the two ten
freeway between the San fernandzov and Pasadena or Altadena, and

(01:04):
uh again, people live up there. To avoid getting stabbed, right,
they will spend an extra half hour forty five minutes
in their car every morning, an extra forty five minutes
to an hour getting home at night, so they can
live in an area where the kids don't get stabbed.
And now the kids are getting stabbed and nothing pisses

(01:26):
them off board in that it happened last week in
Newbury Park and now it's Fordugo Hills and the people
up there are not going to tolerate this, not going
to tolerate at all. That's why they're there for a
safe place to raise their kids. Ask anybody out there
up up in the in that area, the Sunland Verdugo
Hills area, why hey, why are you there for a

(01:49):
safe place to raise my kids?

Speaker 3 (01:50):
Hey?

Speaker 1 (01:50):
Why are you guys there the same thing? Save place
raised kids? And now a stabbing for stabbings at Dugo
Hills High School, LA.

Speaker 3 (01:59):
School police tell us now that at least one person
has been detained following the stabbing that took place on
campus this afternoon. I want to step out of the
way and show you what it looks like here today,
much quieter than what it looked like earlier. I'll show
you some of that news chop or four video as
they were over the scene. Stabbing took place just before
two o'clock.

Speaker 1 (02:19):
Right just before two o'clock if you're not familiar with
this area, it's off the two ten in Sunland Boulevard
and then you go east or I guess that would
be north and you go about three miles and it's
on your left hand side that I believe that's the
only big high school out there. I think if you
live in that area that your kids probably go to

(02:40):
Mount Gleeson, which is the middle school out there. And
then I believe all the kids they go out there,
they live out there. I think they all go to
Virdigo unless you're going to private school. I think that's
the move out there. So everybody who lives in that area,
you know Sunline right off you know Hill Boulevard, Sunland

(03:01):
Boulevard off the two ten freeway. If you live in
that area, chances are your kids go to that school
or you went to that school. Now further east, there's
the Anderson Clark Magnet High School and that some of
the kids that live on the east side of town
go to that school, but mostly it's for Dugo Hills

(03:22):
High School. That's the big high school out there.

Speaker 3 (03:24):
And Lapd said the person are people responsible used a knife.
One of the two injured is a seventeen year old
who's now in serious condition at the hospital. We don't
have the age or condition of the second person injured.
Parents were notified of the lockdown by an automated message
sent by the school today, and one parent I spoke

(03:44):
with said she doesn't believe the district is doing enough
to keep students safe.

Speaker 4 (03:47):
I am one hundred percent scared, and I'm more concerned
about my son's well being and any other student that
goes to the school because I don't believe that the
staff is taking the safety measures to keep our kids safe.

Speaker 1 (04:01):
You know, when my daughter went to Burrows here in Burbank,
and I think twice when she was there in the
three years, four years, three or four years, we got
the school is locked down, And man, does that wake
you up. You want to get to the school, see
what's going on. You make some calls, you get on
the follow with friends and family. You want to see

(04:23):
what's going on. And so when they got that email
or that text alert at two o'clock, about a lot
of parents flipped out.

Speaker 4 (04:32):
Hey, it scares me to that, And that's why I'm
speaking to you guys today because I want to be heard.

Speaker 3 (04:37):
Minutes ago, La USD Superintendent Delberto Carvallo released the statement,
as you look live here Fordugo Hills High School, and
he said to our families, rest assured that we are
working tirelessly to protect all students. He said, in part,
we are wishing a swift recovery for our students at
Verdugo Hills High School while we fully investigate what happened

(04:58):
and how it took place. But that was the Superintendent
of LAUSD, Alberto Carbolo, So again, two students stabbed here
on campus today. Will bring you the latest details as
we have them, all.

Speaker 1 (05:11):
Right, So that's a big story. We'll have details when
we get them. The other big local story is the weather.
When this wind picks up, it's going to get it's
going to get dangerous for the hillsides. If you live
up in the hills, up of the mountains, this is
going to be a sleepless couple of days for you
because when you can hear the wind outside, it is

(05:34):
nerve racking, nerve racking.

Speaker 5 (05:36):
We were talking about red flag warnings in place for
most of southern California today, not too much just yet.
When we're talking about those winds, you can see behind
me the palm trees not swaying too much this afternoon,
but that is all going to change as we head
into the next couple hours. I want to show you
just how widespread these red flag warnings. You can see
most of southern California under these watches and warnings, not
only today but through Wednesday. We're talking about wind speeds

(05:58):
anywhere from twenty five to forty miles per hour. GUS
is going to be even higher than that. It's not
only just the winds that are the concern, but of
course all that dry fuel too. This is a live
look right now in Malibu. Seem a little bit of
a breeze, not too bad temperatures though, pretty comfortable fifty
seven miles per hour. But I want to show you this.
We are starting to see just wait, what was then
pretty comfortable fifty seven miles per hour, But I.

Speaker 1 (06:20):
Think she meant degrees.

Speaker 5 (06:22):
Wait a minute, Boos, seem a little bit of a breeze,
not too bad temperatures though pretty comfortable fifty seven miles per.

Speaker 1 (06:28):
Hour, but yeah, I think she meant degrees.

Speaker 6 (06:30):
I want to show you this.

Speaker 1 (06:31):
On No one's really happy with fifty seven miles an
hour winds. I think she meant degrees.

Speaker 6 (06:36):
I want to show you this.

Speaker 5 (06:36):
We are starting to see just a couple wins picking
up for parts of southern California. Now these are those
wind prone spots, already seeing those gusty conditions. You can
see thousand oaks, fillmore, seeing some gus in the teens.
See me Valley Santa Clarita, already seeing us over thirty
miles per hour.

Speaker 1 (06:51):
Here it comes. You gotta be careful. You've got to
make sure that your valuables are packed and ready to
go in case you have to be evacuated. I hate
to say that, by it's you gotta make sure that
you're ready, because you never know. You never know. Again,
just as the people up up in the area of
Ventura and Ox start of what happened lat you know,

(07:13):
two three weeks ago, and ask them what that was like,
it's a living nightmare.

Speaker 5 (07:20):
As you move farther south, not quite as breezy, but
still seeing some of that wind. Riverside San Bernardino, Banning
all seeing some breezy conditions. And again this is just
the start we were talking about. Watch his warnings. Very
dry fuels in place through Wednesday, the worst of those
winds still to come.

Speaker 1 (07:36):
All right, so bad, crazy winds, and it's going to
start tonight into tomorrow and all through Wednesday, possibly Thursday.
So be aware of you don't have the panic, but
please be aware of it and make sure that you
again you have a plan because it when those fires start,

(07:56):
they move very very quickly. When I was growing up
with the San Farnwn Valley, it would take a couple
of days for a fire to get during the San
Ana wins. For fire to get from the San Fernando
Valley in Malibu, it would take a couple of days.
Now it takes a couple hours. I don't know what
the hell's going on out there, but these fires are
moving very very quickly, quicker than I've ever seen before.
And I was born and raised here in the San

(08:17):
Fernando Valley. All right, re live on KFI AM six forty.
We'll come back with all the information the arrest in
the Brian Thompson case. The United Healthcare CEO is a major, big,
big story, and we'll have any details that are coming in,
including we'll play replace some of the press conference that
happened right at the top of the show at four o'clock.

Speaker 7 (08:37):
You're listening to Tim Conway Junior on demand from KFI
AM six forty.

Speaker 1 (08:43):
All right, dang dog with everybody again, we want to
give you an update on the numbers. We're up over
a million dollars. A million dollars with the Catarinas Club,
so thank you to everybody that participated. That is cool.
Approaching one point two million dollars, so that's great. A

(09:04):
lot of kids are beating over the holidays and you're responsible,
so we thank you for doing that. We've got more
breaking news coming in. We have an earthquake to report,
and this is significant because it's parallel to the one
that happened last week, the seven point zero outside up
in Northern California. This one's in Yerington, Nevada, which is

(09:25):
near South Lake Tahoe and Reno, and it was a
five point seven. That's significant, and again it's parallel to
the Northern California quake that we have. So I don't
know what that means. Maybe it means nothing, but it's
it scares the hell out of a lot of people.

(09:45):
Magnitude five point five or five point seven downgrade to
a five point five Monday afternoon Rattled Nevada and California.
You earthquake happen at three oh eight, so just about
an hour and a half ago, uh no, two hours ago,
two hours ago. And it was sent in central Nevada

(10:06):
town of Yerington, I know who knows, No one's ever
been there, about sixty miles southeast of Carson City and
three hundred and seventy miles northwest of Las Vegas. Moderate
to strong shaking reported in Sacramento, San Francisco, Reno, Carson City, Stockton,
and other areas. It it rattles us. It does because

(10:29):
we know, and we've been told. You know, I've been
told for fifty years the big One's coming, The Big
One's coming. And the one thing that doctor Lucy Jones
has said in the past, and she said it right
here on KFI on our show. When the big one happens,

(10:49):
nobody in southern California, central California, or northern California, depending
on where you are, when it hits, nobody will say
is this the big one? Nobody You'll know it. You'll
know it. It'll be radical shaking. And for I believe

(11:12):
doctor Lucy Jones said up to one hundred seconds just
under two minutes of unbelievable terror. And I don't want
to scare the hell out of you, but you've got
to remember that's the only, the only reason, the only
way to get an earthquake kit and to get people
to act is to scare the hell out of them.

(11:34):
And so if you don't have an earthquake kit, maybe
it's time, you know, put a couple of things together.
Doctor Lucy Jones says water is going to be your friend.
That it might be six months before we get flowing
water again, to bathtubs, showers, sinks, to wash your clothes,
to drink. So go out. Maybe you're on your way

(11:57):
home now, maybe you want to pick up a couple
of drugs of water. And if you get to still water,
that's pretty good for quite a long time. But you
got to you gotta think about it. And these constant
earthquakes a reminder. Last week seven point zero today five
point five at three oh eight, about an hour, two
hours and uh fifteen minutes ago, two hours and fifteen

(12:20):
minutes ago. So just a warning, just a warning. The
sant Ana winds another warning. We've got to be aware
that the sant Ana winds are coming and it is
going to be grim for another couple of days. You'll
at least feel dry and like you're hungover. But at

(12:45):
worst there's gonna be some kind of fire. And we
told you about this last time, and you know, I
think it was Channel five KTLA that reported they said
you were gonna have hurricane level winds, tornado and hurricane
level winds, and we did. And a lot of people
lost their homes up in Ventura over that fire. And

(13:06):
they went to bed the night before, like tonight, the
night before, thinking nothing of it, thinking they're fine, thinking
they're not gonna lose anything, and then it hits, and
it hits hard, and it hits fast, and so you've
got to be aware that that could happen. All right,
We've got other news going on as well in Las Vegas.

(13:29):
Las Vegas homes have reached an all time high. Remember
during the two thousand and eight recession, homes in Las
Vegas went in the toilet. You could buy a home
for one hundred and thirty five thousand dollars. Well, everybody's
moved to Las Vegas to save on taxes. Maybe somebody's
got a gambling jones. I don't know why you moved there,

(13:50):
the schools are good, maybe like that dry community, whatever
it is, but all time high in Las Vegas. Home
prizes in the Las Vegas Valley nearly hit a record high.

Speaker 4 (14:00):
In November, the median home price for a single family
home was four hundred and eighty thousand dollars.

Speaker 3 (14:06):
That is two thousand dollars short of the all time
high and is now.

Speaker 8 (14:10):
Reporter Ryan Tismaneski with more on the movement that this
is creating.

Speaker 9 (14:15):
Glenn Brisbee is leaving the valley. He's moving in with
his daughter over in North Carolina. He listed his home
in November and god offers as soon as it hit
the market.

Speaker 1 (14:24):
We had three right away. Is not wild three offers
right away in this economy. Immediately we had three right away,
you know, three right off the bad which was nice.

Speaker 9 (14:34):
A realtor Brisbee worked with, Letty Rowland, says the home
market was recently pretty stable, but November was a surprise.

Speaker 8 (14:42):
Typically when we plateau, you kind of see a dip
down and we went upwards. So that was actually really
exciting to see, especially with the number of homes actually
closing that went down.

Speaker 9 (14:51):
Wading into the colder months. Roland says, a common misconception
is winter being a bad time to sell, but she
says that's actually when the skeptic buyers tend to stay doors.

Speaker 8 (15:01):
The serious sellers and serious buyers would be in the
market in the winter and in the holidays. They stay
on the market.

Speaker 9 (15:08):
And if you're looking to buy right now.

Speaker 8 (15:10):
One of the things I say is date the rate,
marry the price, so you know, go out what's the same,
date the rate, marry the price, so you know, go
out there and make some offers and you could always
refine later.

Speaker 9 (15:23):
Consider dating the Fed's interest rate too. With one meeting
left this year or another cut could be coming. Brisbee saying,
if the feeling is right.

Speaker 1 (15:31):
Why not go for it, give it a shot.

Speaker 6 (15:33):
You never know.

Speaker 9 (15:34):
Ryan Lavinski eight News Now there you go.

Speaker 1 (15:37):
All right, So that's a good indicator that Vegas is
a two thousand shy of the all time high when
it comes to home prices. All right, lots going on here.
We're going to play some of the press conference when
we come back again. If you're just tuning in, you
just arrived in the country, maybe you've been on a
plane for last eight nine ten hours. They found the
guy who people the cops think Luigi Mangioni killed Brian Thompson,

(16:04):
the CEO of United Healthcare in New York, last Wednesday,
and less than a week they think they got their guy.
We come back. We'll play some of the press conference
for you. More details are coming out about this kid.

Speaker 7 (16:16):
You're listening to Tim Conway Junior on Demya from KFI
Am sixty.

Speaker 1 (16:23):
Crew krous Are you taping the Cowboys game and hoping
not to see the score before you get home? I've
been pretty much avoiding the Cowboys this year. Uh that
kind of year? Uh oh yeah, five and seven? Uh yeah,
they win tonight. You know they got a shot at
the playoffs. You know, six and seven and they're seven
and seven? Do they possible? Possible? They're playing tonight? They're

(16:48):
hosting I believe Cincinnati, aren't they? Indeed? Have you ever
seen a game there at the State? Looks spectacular. They've
got to put a They've got to put curtains up
on the west end, though, because that son comes through
and gets right in their eyes. Jerry says no. Why
is he saying no to that? All the players want
it on both sides, And what does it cost to

(17:09):
put up drapes. I put them up at our house.
Go to three day blinds for gods, that's right. You
could do get a call an advertiser here at KFI.
But that's a spectacular stadium. That's really cool. All right.
We've got a lot of stories going on. We've got
and look, this story should have been major news all week,

(17:30):
the kid that killed his brother allegedly the Newbury Park.
But that story gets wiped off the map because all
these other stories come in, one after another after another
after another. And then you got the stabbings at Verdugo
Hills High School we talked about that earlier, the sant
Ana wins. Those are all three local stories happening here
in southern California. And then the national stories. Luigi Mangioni.

(17:53):
They think the suspect in the murder of Brian Thompson,
who is who ran United Hell health Care, they think
they caught him in Altoona, Pennsylvania. Daniel Penny found not
guilty of choking out a guy in a subway in
New York. A lot of big stories, and then this
fall of Syria. I mean, there are like ten major

(18:16):
stories going on, and we're trying to cover all of them.
You know it's difficulty too. You know, there's only a
certain amount of hours and we got to cover all
of them. All right, let's get let's play some of this.
If you're if you were in at work and you
didn't hear the press conference that happened around four o'clock,
so about an hour and thirty eight minutes ago of

(18:36):
the press conference where they think they found their guy
who killed Brian Thompson, the CEO of United Healthcare. Let's
play a little of this. Here we go.

Speaker 2 (18:45):
My name is Deputy Chief Derek Swelve of the Autunda
Police Department. Today we're going to go through an incident
that occurred in the city of Altuna.

Speaker 6 (18:53):
This morning.

Speaker 2 (18:54):
At approximately nine to fourteen am, Altena police officers received
a call of suspicious mail at a local restaurant. It
was reported that the mail matched the description of the
United Healthcare murder in New York City.

Speaker 6 (19:12):
When officers arrived, they made contact with the mail. We
had a face mask on.

Speaker 2 (19:17):
That mail was asked to remove his face mask and
officers immediately recognized him as a suspect.

Speaker 6 (19:23):
In the New York City shooting in recent days. Wow,
that mail is asked for a form of identification.

Speaker 2 (19:33):
He then provided a fake identification card out of New Jersey.
After a brief investigation, it was determined that the ID
provided was in fact a fake ID, and he was
subsequently arrested for a forgery charge.

Speaker 6 (19:51):
Once he was taken into.

Speaker 2 (19:52):
Custody for that forgery charge, he was transported to the
police department. Once at the police department, that mail was searched.
Instant to arrest, it was discovered they had a United
States passport that identified him as excuse me, Luigi Mangion.

(20:16):
From there continued search of his property. A firearm was
located and a suppressor.

Speaker 6 (20:22):
Was also located.

Speaker 1 (20:24):
Sounds like the game.

Speaker 2 (20:25):
There are also other items of evidentiary value that were
located that would assist in this investigation. At this time,
I'm going to turn it over to Governor Shapiro for
some words.

Speaker 10 (20:38):
Governor Pennsylvania, thank you, Deputy Chief Swope, and let me
acknowledge and thank the law enforcement who I'm joined with today,
beginning with Lieutenant Colonel Bivins of the Pennsylvania State Police.
I want to thank Senior Special Supervisory Agent Disabo from
the FBI, acknowledge NYPD committe Daughtry and the women and

(21:02):
men of the NYPD who join us here today.

Speaker 1 (21:05):
How about a shout out for the guy that dropped
the dime on him at McDonald's anything Anything.

Speaker 10 (21:11):
District Attorney Weeks, who you will hear from shortly and
I just concluded a briefing with Mayor Adams and Commissioner
Tish from New York.

Speaker 1 (21:21):
How about the dude eating what's the breakfast food over there? Sausage,
sandwich stuffs? What do they offer McDonald's for breakfast? Oh, mcgriddle's.
Oh they still have that? Oh yeah, Oh those are
great mcmuffins. Oh yeah, the mcmuffins, egg McMuffin with the
hash browns. Ah, doesn't get better than that. What I

(21:42):
treat This guy was in the middle of an awesome breakfast,
then the cops rolled up on him.

Speaker 6 (21:46):
I want to begin by thank you.

Speaker 1 (21:48):
I turned him in or gave him the tip. Does
he get a reward he got, Oh you didn't see that.
You got a free breakfast? Oh yeah, got the mcgriddle
and sausage. And they didn't give him the free coffee,
but he bought his own coffee and he was styling.

(22:08):
I guess he gets the reward. Why would they not?
They have ten thousand dollars reward. I think he gets
every dime of that, absolutely, But we don't even know
his name yet. Crozcher, have you seen that? And I
know you're you're at the Altoona desk in the newsroom.
Have you seen a name on this guy yet? Or
drop the dime on this dude. No, I haven't seen
a name. Interesting.

Speaker 10 (22:27):
I want to begin by thanking our fellow Pennsylvania resident
America is a hero today.

Speaker 1 (22:34):
Here we go, Here we go? Got it?

Speaker 10 (22:36):
Thank this guy, our fellow Pennsylvania resident who acted as
a hero today. Pennsylvania resident saw something early this morning
at McDonald's.

Speaker 1 (22:46):
Was that his name saw something?

Speaker 6 (22:49):
Saw something early?

Speaker 1 (22:51):
Oh? He saw something.

Speaker 6 (22:52):
Pennsylvania resident saw something early this morning.

Speaker 1 (22:55):
Never know nowadays, Maybe there's his name.

Speaker 10 (22:57):
Saw something early this morning at mcdonaldnolds and said something
to our local police, and our local police here in
Altuna acted swiftly. I want to say a special thanks
to Officer Tyler Fry, the Altuna Police Department. Officer Fry
is about six months into his time serving his fellow

(23:21):
people here in Pennsylvania.

Speaker 1 (23:22):
Wow, rookie got a big deal. Rookie's going to get
credit for this, and.

Speaker 10 (23:28):
He acted swiftly, He acted with smarts, and he acted
with calm. You know, safety often turns on the strength
of the relationship between the community and law enforcement. We
have that strong relationship here in Altuona, and it was
proven here today.

Speaker 1 (23:49):
I want must not be a defund the cops City
must be a we like the cops City.

Speaker 10 (23:54):
I want to ask all of our fellow Pennsylvanians to
demonstrate the same type of thoughtfulness and courage and smarts
as the individual at McDonald's did this morning and help
law enforcement here in Pennsylvania. As we continue with our investigation,
you'll see photos of the suspect who is here, and

(24:16):
you should know that this suspect traveled between Philadelphia and Pittsburgh,
making stops in between, obviously here in Altoona. I want
to ask all of our fellow Pennsylvanians to help us
with any tips that they might have by contacting us
at eight hundred four PA Tips.

Speaker 6 (24:38):
Again, that number is eight hundred four PA Tips.

Speaker 1 (24:43):
Why'd you dump that? You said, tips c Ips. You
don't you be able to dump that?

Speaker 11 (24:50):
Man?

Speaker 1 (24:50):
We get scared around here, got am mighty. I'm gonna
play it again because I don't we should.

Speaker 6 (24:55):
Have dumped that again. That number is eight hundred four
PA tips.

Speaker 10 (25:02):
The suspect was just arraigned here in the courthouse and
presumably New York will file charges.

Speaker 6 (25:10):
Very very soon.

Speaker 10 (25:11):
That process will continue to play out and justice will
be delivered in this case.

Speaker 6 (25:20):
This case has hinged on attention.

Speaker 10 (25:23):
In fact, the attention in this case and the killing
of Brian Thompson was helpful, no doubt, in allowing us
to capture this killer. In alerting that individual at McDonald's
this morning and then having that individual contact police.

Speaker 1 (25:41):
At fourth shout out for McDonald's. You're getting to know
some maritime But.

Speaker 10 (25:45):
Some attention in this case, especially online, has been deeply disturbing,
as some have looked to celebrate instead of condemning this killer.
Brian Thompson was a father to two, He was a husband,
and he was a friend to many. And yes, he

(26:07):
was the CEO of a health insurance company.

Speaker 1 (26:11):
Can you imagine if you're one of those kids where
Brian Thompson's your dad, and you on social media and
people are praising the killer of your dad, You imagine
the anger and the depression that sets in with those kids. Unbelievable.
All right, we're gonna finish up. We'll be back. We're
gonna keep playing this. It's the press conference that happened
about three about four o'clock, so an hour and forty

(26:32):
five minutes ago. And they think they got their guy
in this, Luigi Mangione, who allegedly has killed or killed
Brian Thompson, the CEO of Your Night Healthcare. We'll come
back and play the rest of it. Maybe you missed it,
You're not gonna miss.

Speaker 3 (26:49):
It this time.

Speaker 7 (26:50):
You're listening to Tim Conway Junior on demand from KFI
AM six forty.

Speaker 1 (26:57):
It's Conway Show. Please be careful with these sant and
the winds coming in. Don't take it lightly, all right,
don't take it lightly. Have a plan, have your valuables ready.
You may not use it, probably won't, but at least
you'll be aware. And the scariest thing is it happens
in Burbank all the time. When I wake up in

(27:19):
the middle of the night and I can hear the
wind outside, it's bad. It's bad. You hear the trees
banging against the against the walls. Cruzer, you get it.
Probably pretty bad out there too. In montclairen. I'm sorry Claremont. Yes,
much better.

Speaker 12 (27:35):
Yeah, yeah, especially considering our backyard is basically the is
the two ten freeway. Oh yeah, it's down in there,
and that's just like a gully that brings them wins
right through.

Speaker 1 (27:43):
Yeah, it's like a bowling alley. Yeah, really short.

Speaker 12 (27:46):
It's like where Claremont is, where it gets into Upland
on that two ten. That's where you just start to
see all the trucks kind of on the side if
the wind picks up a little bit.

Speaker 1 (27:55):
Oh yes, you know, I've seen that before coming home
from it was ago one year. I sak like nine
trucks that have tipped over. Yeah.

Speaker 12 (28:03):
And the further out you get, like towards getting closer
to the fifteen, you start seeing some of them sometimes
on their side on the shoulder.

Speaker 1 (28:10):
Yeah, it's not out there anyway. Santa Ana winds are
coming tonight tomorrow into Wednesday. All r let's get back
to this press conference here. They think they found their
guy and in this Luigi Mangoni who killed Brian Thompson,
and they're pretty they're ninety nine point nine percent sure
they got their guy, who was the CEO of United
healthcare killed on the streets of New York last Wednesday.

(28:32):
Let's pick up this press conference that happened about almost
two hours ago.

Speaker 10 (28:36):
In America, we do not kill people in cold blood
to resolve policy differences or express a viewpoint.

Speaker 1 (28:47):
Do you hear that this is the governor of New York, Democrat.
He might possibly be the next president of the United States,
And he said something a lot of people need to
hear a lot of young people out there in America.

Speaker 10 (29:03):
We do not kill people in cold blood to resolve
policy differences or express a viewpoint. I understand people have
real frustration with our healthcare system, and I have worked
to address that throughout my career.

Speaker 6 (29:22):
But I have no tolerance, nor.

Speaker 10 (29:25):
Should anyone, for one man using an illegal ghost gun
to murder someone because he thinks his opinion matters most
in a civil society. We are all less safe when
ideologues engage in vigilante justice.

Speaker 6 (29:50):
In some dark corners. This killer is being hailed as
a hero. Hear me on this. He is no hero.

Speaker 10 (30:00):
Hero in this story is the person who called nine
to one one at McDonald's this morning.

Speaker 1 (30:06):
Another shout out for McDonald's fifth mention.

Speaker 10 (30:08):
The real heroes every day in our society are the
women and men who put on uniforms like these and
go out in our communities to keep us safe.

Speaker 6 (30:19):
This killer was not a hero. He should not be hailed.

Speaker 10 (30:25):
Mister Thompson, I understand, was laid to rest earlier today
in Minnesota in a private setting. As the conversation continues
about this case, let's be mindful not to dehumanize him
and make him just an avatar of a system that

(30:46):
is disliked by many. He was a father, he was
a husband, and he did not deserve to die like
this on a sidewalk in New York City. I again
want to thank all law enforced was present here this evening.
Law enforcement works best when it works together. In this case,

(31:07):
you have the New York Police Department working together with
the Altoona Police Department, working together with our Pennsylvania State Police,
and our partners at the federal level as well. Everyone
came together to solve this case and keep the public safe.

Speaker 1 (31:24):
Far cry from defund the cops, which is only four
years ago.

Speaker 10 (31:28):
I again want to ask my fellow Pennsylvanians if you
have any information regarding this suspect or his travels.

Speaker 6 (31:37):
Throughout Pennsylvania. Please share those tips with us immediately.

Speaker 1 (31:41):
I'm surprised that nobody family members, friends, co workers, fellow
students in his past, because there were some really clear
pictures of this this cat, and nobody nobody call the
cops or the FBI. Now, maybe I'm wrong. Maybe they
did call the cops and they called the FBI, and
maybe the FBI was just holding the information back. That's possible,

(32:03):
and we'll find that out in the next couple of days.
But man, this kid got away with us for a
long time. He was out there all Wednesday night, Thursday night,
Friday night, Saturday night, Sunday, five nights.

Speaker 10 (32:13):
And with that, I want to thank District Attorney Weeks
for his important work today and invite him to the
microphone to say a few words.

Speaker 11 (32:23):
Thank you, gunor Sapiram evening everyone. I would acto the
Governor's sentiments. Law enforcement does work at its best when
they work together. I'd also like to thank District Attorney's
title and his staff came down from Manhattan District Attorney's
office today in record time to assist us at the
Alton Police Department, and as the Governor stated, the state

(32:46):
Police the Altuna Police Department, the FBI, the New York
City Police Department.

Speaker 1 (32:51):
Yeah, they should all get shout outs for them to report.

Speaker 11 (32:54):
A crime, to contact local law enforcement. And I've often
touted how they've made their community, whether it be Altuna
or somewhere else, a safer place to live. And today
I submit that a resident from Altoona and the Altuna
Police Department helped make New York City a safer place
to live and helped to kickstart the process.

Speaker 6 (33:14):
To seek justice for a senseless killing.

Speaker 11 (33:18):
So again I'd like to thank everybody, and it's my
honor to introduce Deputy Commissioner and daughtery at this time.

Speaker 13 (33:28):
Thank you mister da on behalf of the New York
City Mayor Eric Adams, my boss, Police Commissioner Jessica Tish
once swix thing once again, their appreciation to the Altuna
Police Department, to your to your your your leadership team.

Speaker 1 (33:45):
All right, then they go into just a couple of five.
I thank you was there, bye man, A great work,
great work found the guy. People can sleep again tonight.
And this kid is going to be be behind bars
for the rest of his life. And again the Governor's right,
that's not how we handle differences in this country. It's
just not how we do it. We're live on KFI
