Speaker 1 (00:00):
It's KFI AM six forty and you're listening to the
Conway Show on demand on the iHeartRadio app. If you
have a daughter, you probably have gone through similar events
and challenges like I have. And one of them was today,
my daughter's going with her friend up to San Francisco,

(00:22):
and her friend's mom nice enough to drive him up there,
so I feel better. They're going to a concert up there.
I think it's Waylon Jennings. It's something at the Sofi
not Sofi Levi Stadium on August first. Morgan Wallen, Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,
Morgan Wallen, What did I say, Whaling Jen?

Speaker 2 (00:44):
Ylan Jen? Is that the same guy? It's a little different.
He's a little He's a different, different dude, Morgan Wallen.
I gotta write that down. So she wanted to get
an outfit to go to the concert. I get that.

Speaker 1 (00:58):
You know, she's nineteen, want to get you know, dressed
up for the concert. I guess, you know, cowboy boots, shorts,
you know, a nice top, maybe a sweater might be
chilly up there. And so I go to the mall
with her. I went to Glendale Galleria and I she
goes into the store like garage or pack son or

(01:19):
you know, whatever clothing store she goes into. And I
usually stand outside because there's a lot of you know,
young girls in there, and I don't, you know, want
to be the weirdo just standing there and I stand outside.
But my daughter was taking a little while, so I
wanted to go and make sure everything was okay. So
I go in and there's nobody else in the store,
and the lady at the desk says, oh, can I

(01:40):
help you? I said, yeah, I'm just looking for my
my daughter, and she goes, well, there's nobody in here.
I said, oh, maybe she's stuck out and passed me
or something.

Speaker 2 (01:49):
I don't know.

Speaker 1 (01:50):
And I felt odd like being the only guy in
the store, going, hey, I'm just looking around. You know,
it's my daughter in here, and like, oh I heard
that excuse before. But she's in the change room trying
something on. But you don't know what to do. Like
if it was her mom, her mom would go in
there and stand next to her and look at everything,
and then they even go into the chains room with her.

Speaker 2 (02:10):
But with guys, you never know what to do.

Speaker 1 (02:12):
You know, you're so so uncomfortable you stand outside that
you don't feel right about standing outside. So you're like, Oh,
I'm gonna go to the cigar shop and see if
I could smoke a cigar with the fellas and go
to the food court and get a donut from I
don't know Winchell's or whatever is in that mall. But
I ran into a guy who's also with his daughter
out there. His name is Chris, so a big old

(02:34):
shout out to Chris. This guy had a cowboy hat on,
probably a Morgan Walland fan and a big beard and
a Harley Davidson shirt on right. Probably a guy I'd
never meet unless it was for radio. And I was
standing outside of a store, Princess Polly. Is that a store?
Angel or belly o? Do you never heard of that store,
Princess Polly?

Speaker 2 (02:54):
Not off the top of my head?

Speaker 1 (02:56):
No, No, okay, all right, well it's a clothing store,
I guess for you know, younger women. Sorry, and and
and I'm standing outside the store and this guy comes
by with his daughter.

Speaker 2 (03:07):
I think your name is Haley. He goes, hey, ding dong,
and so I engage.

Speaker 1 (03:11):
I engage with him, right, I'm ding dog and him
he's ding dong and me and I and I said,
and my policy is when I meet somebody is I'm like, hey,
let's take a picture. And then I say, give me
your email address or a phone number and I'll send
it to you. And he says, oh, that'd be great.
And he said and I said, also, if you ever
see a fire or a high speed chase, text me.

(03:34):
This is how I developed my network of people who
are out there. And he said, oh. He says, he
drives for Uber and Lyft. He does a lot of deliveries,
so he goes. He goes, I'm out there all the time.
I'll definitely text you or or email you. And I
see something, I said, okay, all right, and I shook
his hand and he walked away and I just stood
there and I thought, okay, that's that's a cool guy.

(03:55):
And I think a lot of KFI listeners are exactly
like that guy. Where's he's well, he's hanging out with
his daughter in the middle of the day. He's spending
quality time with his family. I think this audience is
exactly like him and me, you know, spending as much
time with our kids as we can. And I don't
think there's a I think at the end of your life.

(04:15):
I don't think anyone has ever said I wish I
spent less time with my kids. Oh absolutely, except maybe
the Redbird. Maybe she's tossed that in once in a while.
But I think it's I think it's really cool to see,
you know, guys, he's probably in his you know, late forties,
early fifties, hanging out with his daughter in the middle

(04:36):
of the summer on a Wednesday at the mall. That's
that's a guy who you know, he's got the Harley
Davidson and he's got his big gray beard, he's got
the cowboy hat on. He's probably more comfortable throwing darts
or playing pool with his buddies at a bar or
on a Harley somewhere, but he's hanging out with his daughter.
And I thought that was really cool. You know, people
spending a lot of time with their kids.

Speaker 2 (04:56):
I like that. I like it.

Speaker 1 (04:58):
And guess what, Chris and everybody else listening, it pays off.
It pays off. It doesn't immediately. Sometimes they're moody. Sometimes
they show up moody. Sometimes, you know, they go through
problems with friends or in school where they get emotional
over stuff that you know that you probably shouldn't, but

(05:20):
they're young. But in the long run, man, I'll tell you,
spending time with those kids will mean the world to them,
the world to them. That's my only advice when you
got kids. And I learned it from Jesse Jackson. I
used to tape. I used to record Jesse Jackson's show
every Saturday morning. He had a show on Saturday morning

(05:41):
on Cable, Rainbow Push, Rainbow Coalition, and he did an
hour and a half sermon out of Chicago every Saturday morning,
and I recorded it because we you know, we taped
it and then we played his clips back for what
they held Jesse Jackson say. And the weekend before we
had our daughter, back in two thousand and five, he
said something on a show that stuck with me to

(06:02):
this day. And I try to tell to all new
moms and dads, and he said, it's not what you
buy them, it's where you take them. It's not where
you buy them, it's where you take them. And I
wrote that down. I stuck at my wallet and I
tattooed it on my chest. It's not what you buy them,

(06:23):
it's where you take them. Take them everywhere. I took
my daughter everywhere. I went, if I went to home depot,
if I went to work, everywhere I went, I threw
in the car and we spent a hell of a
lot of time together, and she still seemingly enjoys it,
which is great.

Speaker 2 (06:42):
I think that's a touchdown.

Speaker 1 (06:44):
So my only advice for new parents spend as much
time with those kids as you can because it's going
to fly by. Everyone says, you know, your wedding flies by,
and your wedding is you know, literally eight seconds, BELLI,
when you got married, I'll bet you experienced this. You
got on board and before you know what, everyone was disembarking.

Speaker 2 (07:01):
Yeah, it went by really quick.

Speaker 1 (07:03):
Yeah that's what Yeah, that's what life is when you
have kids. It flies by and all of a sudden,
your kids are driving, your kids are in college, your
kids have their own kids, and it just it always
goes by way too quickly. So I don't like to
give a lot of advice because I don't like to
get a lot of advice. But the only advice I
have for parents, and for new parents especially, spend as

(07:24):
much time with those kids as you can.

Speaker 2 (07:27):
It'll pay off in the long run. Trust me on
this one.

Speaker 3 (07:30):
Guaranteed, You're listening to Tim Conway Junior on demand from
KFI AM six forty.

Speaker 1 (07:38):
So we all survived tsunami Watch twenty twenty five. All
of us made it. So congratulations, but yet another thing
to worry about. You know, when we were growing up,
never worried about tsunami. When I was growing up, I
never worried about a pilot crashing a plane on purpose
while we were sitting on it. Never worried about the

(07:58):
door flying off of a plane. A lot of things
we didn't worry about. But now everything we worry about. Everything,
including one of my favorite stores, j C Pennies. J
C Penny, I believe, not Pennies. My mom used my
grandmother's got you want to go to Pennies. She loved it,
and she loved j C Pennies, and I do too.
You know, when you grow up and your grandmother loves

(08:19):
Sears or Kmart or JC Pennies, you learned to love
that store as well, because that reminds me of and
you of spending time with your grandparents, if that was
part of your life. But there now their stores have
sold in a billion dollars deal. Somebody paid a billion
dollars for j C.

Speaker 2 (08:39):
Pennies.

Speaker 4 (08:39):
JC Penny, one of the nation's oldest department store chains,
is selling off one hundred and nineteen of its stores
to a private equity firm. The nine hundred and forty
seven million dollar deal comes five years after the company
filed for bankruptcy. Copper Property Trust, which earlier purchased one
hundred and sixty JC Penny stores and six distribution centers.

Speaker 2 (09:00):
It's like a late night drunk purchase.

Speaker 5 (09:02):
You know.

Speaker 1 (09:02):
These billionaires are online and they're they're they're buzz they're drinking.
I don't know Tito's or Jack Daniels, and they're like,
they're on eBay and they're like, Oh, what's this.

Speaker 2 (09:12):
Oh j C Pennies for sale, Let's buy it.

Speaker 5 (09:15):
Purchased one. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (09:17):
Did you go to jacon Penny as a kid?

Speaker 4 (09:19):
I did.

Speaker 2 (09:20):
Yeah, I loved it. I enjoyed it.

Speaker 1 (09:23):
Were they big and denver? Yeah, yeah, they're big and clean.
There's a smell to Sears that's on like any other store,
and I miss it. I haven't had that smell in
a long time. Smell to Yeah, it smells different.

Speaker 6 (09:37):
I told you I got my first uh bra. My
mom and my sister took me and I was so upset. Wow,
you know the circular clothes, the racket rack. I hid
in the center of it because I didn't want to
get a bra.

Speaker 2 (09:57):
That's so great, man, That's something thing.

Speaker 1 (10:00):
It's so odd, Like my dad and I never had that,
you know that No Penny's visit for my first braw
my first jockstrap.

Speaker 2 (10:09):
But you had to go to the husky section. Oh no, no, no,
that was that was Steckler.

Speaker 1 (10:13):
But yeah, but my dad and I never had that
that uh you know that visit where he's buying my
first cup or jockstrap.

Speaker 2 (10:22):
But you had to have that. It just wasn't at sears, right.

Speaker 1 (10:25):
Yeah, And I bought one that if it didn't fit,
I'd throw it away go get another one.

Speaker 2 (10:29):
I wasn't returning it, you know.

Speaker 6 (10:31):
I don't think you can return a lot of moms
take sons to get their first cup.

Speaker 2 (10:36):
Right, I don't know that's ever happened. Oh see, I
don't know. I don't think it's ever happened. No, no, ever.

Speaker 1 (10:42):
I think the guy goes on his own or maybe
mom buys it, but not with him, you know, like
holding it up to him.

Speaker 2 (10:48):
Hold this up. Let me look at that. No, I
don't mean it that way. I don't know. I don't know.
It's odd.

Speaker 1 (10:57):
You know, it's just guys who are playing sports. You know,
you don't wear one if you're a gamer. There's not
a lot of gamers gamer playing with jock straps.

Speaker 2 (11:06):
Maybe they should maybe, maybe, But J C. Pennies is sold.

Speaker 4 (11:10):
Purchased one hundred and sixty j C. Penny stores and
six distribution centers is expected.

Speaker 3 (11:15):
I was at j C.

Speaker 2 (11:16):
Pennies today. I walked through Pennies today. It's a great store.

Speaker 4 (11:19):
Is expected to close the deal in early September. The
equity firm owns twelve stores here in southern California.

Speaker 5 (11:26):
J C.

Speaker 4 (11:26):
Penny, once one of the largest retailers in the US,
currently operates about six hundred and fifty stores.

Speaker 1 (11:32):
Oh, I would have lost that bet for sure. How
many J C. Pennies stores are still left? And what
is the number?

Speaker 4 (11:41):
It's about six hundred and fifty stores.

Speaker 1 (11:43):
About six hundred and fifty j C. Pennies are left. Wow,
that's a lot, all right? Gambling Oh a, no, no,
we got some former NBA players have been caught up
in a gambling sting.

Speaker 7 (11:57):
He was just in court a few moments ago, pleading
not guilty to go free on fifty thousand dollars bond.
Gilbert Arenas is of course known for his time in
the NBA, playing for teams like the Warriors and the Wizards,
known here in LA as well for his son, who
is a star recruit at USC recently in a violent
cyber truck crash.

Speaker 2 (12:13):
Oh is that the same guy? I didn't know that.

Speaker 1 (12:15):
Yeah, his kid who out in the San Fernando Valley
out Northridge. Wow, what a year for this crew.

Speaker 7 (12:20):
Huh, federal prosecutor say, Arenas and other defendants, including a
high level member of an Israeli transnational crime group, we're
all arrested today.

Speaker 1 (12:29):
For what poker? I think that goes on a lot.
I think there had to be something else involved.

Speaker 7 (12:34):
They're accused of running an illegal gambling club of sorts
out of his mansion in Encino. Federal prosecutors say.

Speaker 2 (12:40):
They is this Alex Stone?

Speaker 3 (12:42):
Yes?

Speaker 2 (12:42):
Oh, I like Alex Stone is chevman?

Speaker 6 (12:44):
Well the reason why he wasn't on is because he
was doing that.

Speaker 2 (12:47):
Oh okay.

Speaker 7 (12:48):
They're accused of running an illegal gambling club of sorts
out of his mansion in Encino.

Speaker 5 (12:53):
Oh.

Speaker 2 (12:53):
That happens everywhere all the time.

Speaker 1 (12:55):
If you're going to arrest him for doing that, you
might as well build eight new prisons, because that's all
rich guys do.

Speaker 2 (13:02):
They just go to each other's houses and play poker.

Speaker 7 (13:04):
Federal prosecutors say they had high stakes illegal poker games
and collected a rake of fee that the house charges
for those who would play big money and pay into it.
Young women were allegedly hired to serve drinks, provide massages,
and companionship.

Speaker 2 (13:18):
Sounds like a party. Sounds like a pretty decent party
so far.

Speaker 7 (13:23):
Young women were allegedly hired to serve drinks, provide massages,
and companionship.

Speaker 1 (13:28):
Okay, I would lie I any time that I've heard
about these parties where they have women serving food and
catering or doing the valet parking.

Speaker 2 (13:36):
They're all over eighteen.

Speaker 1 (13:38):
I've never heard of them hiring like fourteen or fifteen
year old girls for this, So I don't think that
angle is here.

Speaker 7 (13:45):
The way that prosecutors put it, and the women were
largely allegedly charged money as well. Prosecutors say chefs, valets,
armed security guards they were hired, and guys are Charges
include conspiracy to operate an illegal gambling business.

Speaker 1 (14:00):
Oh, if this is all they got him for is
illegal gambling playing cards Again, there's a lot of guys
listening to KFI right now, going God Almighty, I'm glad
it wasn't me. There's a lot of KFI listeners who
go to very expensive homes and play in very expensive
poker games.

Speaker 7 (14:17):
If convicted, they could be looking at five years in
federal prisk.

Speaker 2 (14:20):
Five years in federal prison.

Speaker 8 (14:22):
You talk about high stakes, the young women hired.

Speaker 2 (14:25):
You've read through the court documents.

Speaker 8 (14:26):
What evidence do they have here to prove all that?

Speaker 7 (14:29):
Yeah, a number of different things. And there was a
photo that he allegedly sent to another member of this
group that he texted the defendant, this photo showing Arenas
Poker Club. They say that this is part of their case.

Speaker 1 (14:42):
Oh, you know what, it was a welcome Matt. It's
at Arenas Poker Club and then you come in, you
wipe your feet, and then you come into the game.
So maybe he shouldn't have done that.

Speaker 2 (14:51):
I'll give him that Arenas Poker Club.

Speaker 7 (14:53):
They say that this is part of their case, the
allegation that he was renting out this home to those
who are running the operation.

Speaker 2 (15:00):
Interesting.

Speaker 8 (15:00):
This goes beyond the Friday night poker night with your buddies, and.

Speaker 7 (15:03):
That is very allegations, yes allegedly, Well no, no, I
don't think it does.

Speaker 1 (15:06):
I think that this is exactly that you know, these
guys who have high end poker games. I have a
friend who goes to some of these high end poker
games where there are women serving food valet parking security
and they take a raak and they also, you know,
supply great food and drinks and people have a good time.

(15:28):
I don't again, I've got to see a victim before
I I, you know, point fingers at work at who
committed the crime, because my philosophy in life is no victim,
no crime. And I don't know who the victim is here.
The women are all there on their own. They all
agreed to go, The guys serving food agreed to go.
The guy's playing cards agreed to go. Know who's there

(15:50):
against their will? I don't know who the victim is
in this, but the cops will tell you that this
leads to another. One thing leads to another, and then
there's leads to the neighborhood going in the toilet. But
I don't know sounds like guys just having a good
party and everyone.

Speaker 2 (16:06):
Else is just jealous. That's my take. Who cares?

Speaker 4 (16:09):
All?

Speaker 5 (16:09):
Right?

Speaker 2 (16:10):
Relyve on KFI A six forty.

Speaker 1 (16:11):
Krozer's out celebrating his birthday today and it's also my
sister's birthday. My sister, Kelly was born on this same
day as Krozer. They share a birthday together, which is
kind of cool.

Speaker 3 (16:22):
You're listening to Tim Conway Junior on demand from KFI
AM six forty.

Speaker 1 (16:29):
Jane Wells was on with us last night. She left
her condo in Kona, Hawaii, beautiful west and I believe
the west side of the Big Island, and I headed
for a higher ground so she wouldn't get killed by
this tsunami and she made it. Congratulations Jane Wells, oh oh.

Speaker 5 (16:49):
Jim, it was touching go there for a while. You know,
we're just trying to we're trying to, you know, sip
things out of the mud this morning.

Speaker 2 (16:56):
And how big did the walk out?

Speaker 1 (16:58):
Seriously, how big did the waves get? Was it two
three feet? Did you notice any difference.

Speaker 5 (17:04):
Here? No, the biggest wave they recorded was in Kahluia, Maui,
which was almost six feet, But the only damage I
saw was like a parking lot in Heilo got flooded.
There was there wasn't much. I mean, we waited until
an hour before it was supposed to hit Kawhi to
finally head the higher ground up at the shopping center

(17:24):
where everybody else was right, and I thought, well, you know,
we'll go up there and have a my tie. The
one bar there was closed. No h no, I'm not kidding.
They could have made so much money, ridiculous. But I
figured that maybe their employees wanted to go home. So
we hung out there. But so I had to drag
my husband there because he said we really shouldn't go.

(17:45):
We're on the third floor. We're really on the fourth
floor because we have a car board. He said, it's
this is going to be nothing. I said, but I
told Tim that, you know, I don't want to be
that doe, right, So I drag him up there and
I'll go ahead.

Speaker 1 (17:57):
So let me get this straight. But just to give
it people an idea, where you are is ConA?

Speaker 2 (18:01):
Am I right? ConA is on the west side of
the Big Island.

Speaker 5 (18:04):
Yeah, okay, so it is, and.

Speaker 1 (18:07):
You know the condos on that side of the island
typically sell for one hundred and fifty to two hundred
thousand dollars more because you get the sunset and not
the sun rise.

Speaker 5 (18:18):
It's and it's drier, it rains less often. The Snarkling's amazing. No,
Cona's amazing. But in twenty eleven, that Fukushima or her
earthquake in tsunami, it did some damage here in ConA
is certainly nothing like it did in Japan. Yeah, it
did down not far from here. It destroyed a few
houses and that sort of thing. But so we go
up and we're with everybody, and so we wait till

(18:41):
seven fifteen when it's supposed to hit Kawhai and we've
already seen that it hasn't done much to Midway or
Wakes Island, and my husband and I look at each other.
I said, let's just go home. We got a couple
hours before it reaches the big island. We went back.
We left the car up higher and then we just
we just were up on the we're way up high.
We ate ice cream and watched the new It's a

(19:01):
good thing we did because we went at the right moment.
All the cops were apparently on a break and the
road was opened. Our neighbors tried to come ten minuts
after us, and they weren't. They didn't let they were back.
They didn't let anybody until eleven thirty last night.

Speaker 2 (19:15):
Oh my god, Oh that's horrible.

Speaker 1 (19:18):
I've looked at ConA prices after I talked to you
last night, and for a one bedroom, one bathroom play
you know, condo that's six hundred square feet is six
hundred and fifty dollars.

Speaker 5 (19:35):
Well, it kind of depends on where you are and
how old it is. I will say we quite accidentally
made the best financial decision of our lives because we
bought before COVID. Oh so prices around here basically doubled
after COVID. So I mean we didn't we we have

(19:56):
no intention of selling. But Coda's nice.

Speaker 2 (20:00):
It's got a great name. I love the name.

Speaker 1 (20:01):
Conah is a great name. You know, you can spell it.
You don't have to go into and the Aldi Beach
and all that crap.

Speaker 2 (20:09):
You know.

Speaker 1 (20:09):
It's really cool. And a lot of very wealthy people
live in Kona.

Speaker 5 (20:15):
Yes, yes, they do up in wall Ali, but I
love watching the local news because they call it, you know,
Hawaii and kawaik you know, right, always fun.

Speaker 1 (20:27):
But I think living on Hawaii. You know, people, there's
two groups of people. One group goes to Hawaii, they
buy a condo, they're there for two years and they
can't wait to get back. The other people never leave
the islands.

Speaker 5 (20:43):
You are absolutely right, And you can tell by the
way they look who is who? Okay, right, who's gone
to ConA and who goes. But we go back and forth,
and you know, it's a privilege to be here when
we're we're out of state most of the year, and
we have to pay a higher property tax to Oh
I didn't know that than if we were actually local.

(21:04):
Oh yeah, yeah, But I don't mind because you know,
I'm housing is scarce, and I'm sure there are plenty
of locals who resent me for owning a place that
I don't live in full time. But you know that's
that's the way it goes.

Speaker 2 (21:15):
Are there HOA fees with most of the condos?

Speaker 5 (21:19):
Oh my god, yes, you're not gonna believe it. So
for this complex where I'm in my monthly HOA fees, Okay,
just just guess you're in a condo.

Speaker 2 (21:30):
All right, Let's do a quick whip around.

Speaker 1 (21:32):
Okay, quick whip around Steph, oosh, how much does Jane
Wells pay for homeowners fee or HOA HOA every every month? Well,
you got to tell us real quickly. How big your
place is it? Two bedroom, two bath, one bedroom, one bath, two.

Speaker 5 (21:47):
Bedroom, two bath, about a thousand square feet ocean view?
Oh yeah, okay, all.

Speaker 1 (21:54):
Right, I'm gonna guess your HOA fees. As a matter
of fact, let's start with Steph. What do you think
the HOA fees for Kona whai a two hundred and
fifty dollars to fifty a month? How about Eileen Gonzalez?
What do you think it is?

Speaker 2 (22:06):
I'm going to guess about six six hundred all right,
Bellio seven, seven hundred, Angel seventy five dollars, seventy five bucks.

Speaker 1 (22:18):
Okay, I'm going to go last, and I'm going to
say one thousand dollars all right, laid honest.

Speaker 5 (22:28):
You're twelve hundred bucks.

Speaker 1 (22:30):
No one, you gotta be kidding me.

Speaker 2 (22:36):
No, what does that include? I mean, obviously to ensure
the place?

Speaker 5 (22:40):
Good question.

Speaker 1 (22:41):
Oh my god, that's a lot of people pay rent
for a month.

Speaker 5 (22:50):
Look, it's a privilege to be here, but that is
really uh and it goes up every year. I mean,
I guess I got to keep the pool clean and
they did put it and the security camera, so there
you go.

Speaker 2 (23:03):
Oh that's got to make you crazy.

Speaker 5 (23:06):
Well again, when I'm here, it's hard to complain about anything.

Speaker 2 (23:11):
Yeah, I get it.

Speaker 5 (23:11):
I mean, it's just it's beautiful, I know. But yeah,
you have to take out a mortgage to pay the
ho apes.

Speaker 1 (23:17):
Really, I mean you're paying eleven twelve, you're paying twelve
or fourteen thousand dollars a.

Speaker 5 (23:22):
Year, yeah, plus insurance and property taxes. But that's okay,
I'm in saying this. I'm starting to get stressed out, man.

Speaker 1 (23:32):
And that's not why you moved there to get more
stressed down. No, that's classic. Though I'd love to. I'd
love to have a condo there. I just you know,
can't afford it. I had to make a CNBC money,
you know, growing up or and MSNBA.

Speaker 5 (23:46):
Nice enough, If you're nice enough, I might let you.
Oh I love you.

Speaker 6 (23:59):
So good. Yes, thank you because I told her about
your sub stack.

Speaker 2 (24:05):
Oh is that right? Okay, that's right.

Speaker 5 (24:08):
No, Angel can definitely stay here.

Speaker 1 (24:14):
Angel had a pylon session as soon as they knew
they had a condo there.

Speaker 2 (24:18):
It's like, hey, look at me. What am I going here?

Speaker 4 (24:21):
Jane?

Speaker 2 (24:21):
I appreciate you coming on.

Speaker 1 (24:22):
I'm glad you're safe, you and your husband, and I
call us next the next tsunami.

Speaker 2 (24:30):
Okay, all right, there she goes Jane Wells. Everybody from Conah, Hawaii.

Speaker 1 (24:34):
Oh what a life she's got going on there, ConA, Hawaii,
the west side of the Big Island.

Speaker 2 (24:40):
That is some life. Oh, bellio, that's the life you wanted.
How that workout? Not really well?

Speaker 1 (24:47):
And walking around with the shirt that says Bakeman football.

Speaker 2 (24:52):
This is Beckman football football. Whatever. It's better than tsunami
T shirt you're wearing. Yeah, with this shirt will last
longer that one.

Speaker 3 (25:01):
You're listening to Tim Conway Junior on demand from KFI
AM sixty.

Speaker 1 (25:07):
Ah, yes, yes, yes, nice to talk to Jane Wells. Hey,
we've got Dean Sharp coming up at six point twenty.
That guy's always great. We'll talk to a Dean Sharp
and we'll talk to him about it. We got an
interesting topic. How to make the most of a small room.
You got a small room at home, and you just
throw a bunch of crap in it. It becomes like

(25:30):
a big closet. You use it for recycling where you
keep all your paper towels in there and you know
jackets during the summer. How to expand and utilize a
small room which is great?

Speaker 2 (25:42):
Which is great?

Speaker 1 (25:43):
I think a lot of people have small rooms that
they never use. And Dean Sharp might be able to
help you out here. Okay, we have a There was
today an Ozzy Osbourne funeral procession in England that was
very well attended. Man, is this guy missed? This guy
had absolutely millions and millions upon millions of fans and

(26:07):
they all showed up in England to stand there in
the funeral procession and watch this this hearse and watch
Ozzy you know, slide by for the very last time.

Speaker 8 (26:19):
Qu This was a heavy day for fans of heavy metal.
The people in Birmingham lined the streets as a car
carrying Ozzy Osbourne's body traveled through the town he once
called home. It was there that Black Sabbath was formed
in nineteen sixty eight, and it was there the Osborne
family chose for what became a flower filled funeral procession.

(26:43):
The city of Birmingham, England, known as the home of metal,
showed up today in forced to say goodbye to a
favorite son. Thousands of fans just wanting to be there
to pay their respects to Ozzy Osbourne. A visibly move.
Sharon Osbourne, along with her children, made a brief appearance
seeing all the love that surrounded them. The Black Sabbath

(27:05):
lead singer.

Speaker 1 (27:06):
You know, I got to give it to Sharon Osbourne.
That woman kept Ozzy Osbourne alive for probably ten to
twenty years, longer than he would have without her.

Speaker 2 (27:14):
One hundred percent. One hundred percent.

Speaker 8 (27:16):
The Black Sabbath lead singer, nicknamed the Prince of Darkness,
died last week at seventy six, but his legend lives on.

Speaker 9 (27:25):
It was beautiful to see so many people come out
and just want to pay their respects to a famous person. Well,
he's influenced such a massive amount of people in the
area that he deserves the recognition.

Speaker 10 (27:37):
I thought about his contribution, you know, his cultural contribution
to rock music, to the city, and the fact that
all these people are here to farewell him today, like
what a legacy.

Speaker 8 (27:51):
Flowers and fans shared space along the streets where Black
Sabbath was born fifty seven years ago.

Speaker 2 (27:58):
Wow.

Speaker 8 (27:58):
Four guys looking to au escape a life of factory work.
They achieved that, but Osborne never forgot his working class roots.
His final concert on July fifth in England raised more
than one hundred and ninety million dollars, the highest grossing
charity concert of all time.

Speaker 1 (28:16):
That's incredible at that age to bring in one hundred
and ninety million dollars. And they brought him out and
he sat on that big black leather chair and I
don't think got up once. He just sat there and
sang all of his songs, and man, it was emotional.
A lot of people in the audience broke down because
they knew that that was probably going to be the
last time they saw Ozzy Osbourne perform.

Speaker 8 (28:39):
He'd been in poor health for some time, but that
didn't stop him from performing, and that didn't stop fans
from being there to cheer him on.

Speaker 9 (28:48):
I love especially someone who go out and do what
he did.

Speaker 5 (28:55):
Everybody and with.

Speaker 8 (28:56):
Music that will live on forever. Fans have been showing
up to sites around Birmingham since Osbourne's death to pay
their respects. The Osbourne family paid for today's procession with
so many honoring someone they all loved.

Speaker 1 (29:11):
Oh that's great, Ozzy Osbourne, man, What a life?

Speaker 2 (29:15):
What a life?

Speaker 1 (29:15):
