Speaker 1 (00:00):
You're listening to Tim Conway Junior on Demaya from kfi
AM six forty.
Speaker 2 (00:08):
Kf I AM six forties Conway Show. Mark Thompson is
here and we've got some very special legislation that's going
on up in Sacramento. And we have a guest here
and her name is Judy Mancuso, and Mark tell me
a little bit about Judy and what she's doing before papron.
Speaker 3 (00:27):
The good thing about Judy is she does a lot
of sort of legislative work on the part of animals.
It's called Social Compassion and Legislation, and that's the name
of her group. She's the president's CEO and founder, Judy Mancuso.
But anyway, point is that the fires really educated us
in a bad way about something, which is that there
(00:48):
was no plan, no emergency plan from the city or
county as to how to deal with household pets who
are left in areas that were in an evacuation. Had
a lot of them die, they wouldn't let rescue groups in.
Nobody kind of knew a policy as to who should
go in, what recognized rescue group, what credential would be
(01:09):
allowed in to rescue these animals. So what this new
Assembly bill does AB four seventy eight is it requires
the city or county, when they next update their emergency
plan to figure out to designate procedures for the rescue
of household pets from the area subject to an evacuation order.
So that's what she's working on, and she's trying to
(01:31):
get you know, public awareness around this bill. So I
think that's why she's joining us.
Speaker 4 (01:36):
Judy Mancuso, how are you.
Speaker 5 (01:39):
Yay, very good, Thank you so much.
Speaker 4 (01:42):
I think Mark about said it all, so thanks for calling.
Speaker 5 (01:47):
Well, what I will say is Mark and I were
learning on the fly through the disaster of all the
missing pieces and why so many animals perished, and that families, people, individuals,
rescuers were you know, breaching the fire lines to go
(02:12):
and rescue pets and all. In the meanwhile, I was
taking notes all along the way on what was missing,
how do we fill in those blngths and so there
is no next time that we go through this, and
that is where AB four seventy eight came from. And
(02:35):
we have to thank Assembly Member Rick Zeburg for being
the author of the bill. But right now it is
in the Senate Appropriations Committee. On what's called the suspense file.
And the reason I wanted to raise awareness is because
(02:56):
the Department of Emergency Services has put a price tag
around its neck of six hundred and eighty eight thousand
dollars a year for three new positions, which can kill
the bill. I mean, you go through this process where
(03:17):
you go through both houses. You started in the Assembly.
This was an Assembly member. We got through all that.
Now we're in the Senate and this this line and
the sand at the Legislature. Oh sorry, let me put
you you're in that.
Speaker 2 (03:33):
I'm sorry, dude, let me put you on hold real quick.
We have a news conference here. LAPD is increasing the
patrols in South Let me put you on hold, and
then we're going to take this real quick. This is
Mayor Bass speaking about the shooting today in Vermont.
Speaker 4 (03:45):
Knows if you could pomp it up there.
Speaker 6 (03:47):
Especially violent crime.
Speaker 7 (03:49):
I'm confident, though, just like I was confident yesterday in
the press conference where we announced the arrest of gang
members that have been responsible for close to one hundred burglaries,
that we will find the perpetrators of this crime and
hold them accountable, And especially when we have leaders of
our Los Angeles Police Department like Captain Gonzalez, who I
(04:11):
know now will provide the details as to what happened today.
Speaker 8 (04:15):
Thank you, maer Hi. Good evening everyone. So my name
is Adrian Gonzalez. I'll give you guys an update on
what I know as of now. So approximately two thirty
this afternoon, we received multiple radio calls of shooting calls
at this location.
Speaker 6 (04:31):
The location where the shooting occurred is behind me in
front of the market.
Speaker 8 (04:35):
At that time, our officers responded to multiple radio calls
of victims being down. We did locate ultimately five victims
so far. They all suffer from various injuries.
Speaker 6 (04:47):
They were all.
Speaker 8 (04:48):
Transported to local hospitals and as of now, we haven't
had any victim who has been pronounced deceased.
Speaker 6 (04:55):
It's an ongoing investigation.
Speaker 8 (04:57):
We continue to our investigators are here, our detective are here.
We continue to scour UH the location for video, for
additional witnesses, for additional evidence, UH and and so we
will continue investigating this investigation UH with whatever resources that we.
Speaker 6 (05:14):
Need to UH.
Speaker 8 (05:15):
The one thing I do want to mention is we
don't know the cause yet of what happened here. As
we continue UH interviewing some of our witnesses and we
might get more information. We are looking at it from
a gang related component, and so that we have our
gang officers here. We have additional gang officers working the streets,
(05:36):
conducting follow ups and trying to gather more information. As
of now, that's all the information I have, and I'll
take a few questions.
Speaker 9 (05:43):
Under a multiple shooters, I'm sorry, I'll close it up.
Speaker 8 (05:53):
I'll repeat that at this time, we believe there's multiple shooters, so.
Speaker 6 (05:58):
Many han people somebody gun stand out the leg We
don't know that yet.
Speaker 8 (06:03):
We're assuming that, but we don't know that yet that
there's a beef, but that we do know that there's
multiple shooters.
Speaker 3 (06:09):
And we had any.
Speaker 10 (06:10):
Previous lists civil evolution last twenty four to forty.
Speaker 6 (06:14):
Eight hours, not at this location.
Speaker 11 (06:19):
The fatidays are that you guys had not far from
hearing out.
Speaker 6 (06:22):
We haven't verified that yet.
Speaker 8 (06:24):
Obviously, we're looking at all angles there shooting that we
had over the weekend, and this one.
Speaker 6 (06:28):
To us seems a little.
Speaker 3 (06:33):
Yeah.
Speaker 8 (06:34):
We just think that that it's just because of the proximity.
We're looking at all angles, but we haven't confirmed that yet.
Speaker 7 (06:39):
With the activity of Purmont and Manchester is not related
to this shooting.
Speaker 8 (06:44):
We don't know, so so we received the information from
the sheriff's department. There were several vehicles that fled from
this location.
Speaker 6 (06:51):
We're still trying.
Speaker 8 (06:52):
To vet if the if the vehicles that fled this
location we're tied to this shooting, but so there was
vehicles that fled a hi rate of speed. The sheriffs,
who were just south of Manchester and Vermont made contact
with those vehicles, and my understanding is that there were
some type of interaction between the sheriffs and us.
Speaker 6 (07:10):
I don't have all the details on that, but I
do know that the.
Speaker 8 (07:13):
Sheriffs are out there handling their investigation in the sheriffs
and Meling. No, it was between the sheriffs and vehicles
that they believed fled from this location.
Speaker 4 (07:25):
Is anyone ins me on that location, I.
Speaker 6 (07:27):
Don't believe so yet.
Speaker 10 (07:28):
Any indication you have how the shooter or shooters may
have done the way on foot.
Speaker 6 (07:33):
Car ails, We believe they fled in a vehicle.
Speaker 8 (07:35):
However, preliminary investigation is that there's several videos that that
left here and we haven't determined who was in which vehicle.
Speaker 10 (07:42):
Are your detectives in these shorts? It looks like they've
got cameras all around this loft. You're gonna have a
lot of viney over the support we do.
Speaker 6 (07:48):
We do, and that'll take a little bit of time
to review all the video. That's part of what's going
on now. But we haven't reviewed all the video yet.
I know earlier.
Speaker 11 (07:56):
Can you run the way I think how it's played
out in the prospect not up that far.
Speaker 6 (08:01):
They know the triple yeah, I believe it. So there's
a group setting in front of the location.
Speaker 8 (08:07):
The vehicle drives up and we believe we don't have
information whether the suspects exit the vehicle or not, but
they did arrive in a vehicle and fled in a vehicle.
Speaker 10 (08:16):
How the ages of victims and how many suspects.
Speaker 8 (08:19):
Possibly Yeah, so as far as suspects, we believe maybe
there's two to three. Yet again it's preliminary now because
we have to continue reviewing our video. Our victims are
the ages between nineteen and thirty five. I believe there's
four males and one female victim.
Speaker 7 (08:35):
I think the layer permently, but need a relationship the
suspects and there's three to common.
Speaker 6 (08:39):
Light on the civic sent still the next that was
preliminary information.
Speaker 8 (08:44):
So I tell you there's probably seven or ten radio
calls that came out initially, and so there's a lot
of information that's been put out by different witnesses.
Speaker 6 (08:51):
So we're still vending that information.
Speaker 3 (08:53):
Any information on the suspects besides that the age, are they.
Speaker 5 (08:58):
Male, weary?
Speaker 6 (09:00):
Yeah, we don't have that information at this moment. All
of your big is.
Speaker 11 (09:03):
Standing outside that play.
Speaker 4 (09:05):
Your suspects of the plan.
Speaker 8 (09:06):
Again, yes, based on the preliminary investigation and witnesses that
we have spoken to this so far, that's.
Speaker 6 (09:12):
What we believe at this time.
Speaker 2 (09:14):
Yeah, think and you you can talk about perhaps something
achievement on a fayre large presence.
Speaker 6 (09:19):
So all of the importance of keeping the peace.
Speaker 9 (09:21):
You don't know this to get out of the hands
in your gang activity of lasting to please help.
Speaker 8 (09:26):
Of course, we're always trying to keep the peace, so
moving forward, I do have a bunch of gang officers
out there right now just trying to to make sure
that they make the community feel safe. We have additional
regular patrol officers who are doing the same for the
next week at least.
Speaker 6 (09:42):
We'll reassess after the weekend.
Speaker 8 (09:44):
This is going to be labor d The weekend might
be busy, but at least for the next week, we
will have additional resources in and around the area, not
only here, but obviously bordering a seventy seventh division to
make sure that the public feels safe.
Speaker 9 (09:56):
If you have any intel, I know you guys are
all over up ten years over the out intel and
you know there's bad bloodline devils.
Speaker 8 (10:05):
Well, we don't have any definitive intel obviously, Like if
we're looking at this investigation as being gang related, that's
we're looking at that angle.
Speaker 6 (10:14):
There's a lot of different angles that we can look
at it. That's definitely one angle that we're looking at.
Speaker 8 (10:17):
And so we'll continue interviewing witnesses and hopefully we can
get additional information that confirm or prove that that's not
the case.
Speaker 6 (10:25):
So often, thanks good Let's say a couple of words here.
Speaker 9 (10:28):
Just yeah, if I could thank you all for being
here and being able to allow us to share what
happened with the public. You look at this shooting occurred
about two thirty this afternoon. There's a school right across
the street. That's the time generally that the school is
letting out. The senselessness and there's the callousness of where
they did it and when they did it. It should
(10:48):
really hit all of us. So my ask is that
if anybody out there knows what happened here, knows who
is responsible, please let us know. If you would, please
call Robbery Homicide Division South your own and be able
to let the detectives know.
Speaker 6 (11:03):
We have a lot of people work in this case.
Speaker 9 (11:05):
As you heard, we'll have a lot of resources here
over the next week or so at least, and we'll
reassess then. But as we move forward, certainly, the sooner
we can tie this up, be able to hold the
people accountable who did it, the less chance there is
of recurrences, paybacks or other things like that.
Speaker 6 (11:21):
So we really do appreciate any help we can get
on that. Thank you, Chiefs.
Speaker 10 (11:25):
The self you're only going to be handling. You're going
to put an orange to you as well.
Speaker 3 (11:28):
Well.
Speaker 9 (11:29):
It's all the homicide now is our HD self Bureau
is the portion that's handling this important.
Speaker 11 (11:36):
Yeah, you're concern for morning, I guess you pick is
a game, you know, and if you're a flight to
be found, disturb the concern as a plas gold be
confident like you want it's not.
Speaker 6 (11:45):
The same morning a ring out there, Sure, no, A
good question.
Speaker 9 (11:48):
Always concerned about retaliation shootings, and as such we try
as soon as we identify what potential gangs were involved,
we put our people in our resources in the right
place to create a deterrent effect and to use the
intel that we have to be able to hold people
accountable and to.
Speaker 6 (12:05):
Do what we can to disrupt that kind of activity.
Speaker 5 (12:08):
Considering this shooting on Saturday, the shooting which calls.
Speaker 9 (12:12):
The cascilation of a possible area, you know, we'd have
to be able to show that they were the same
gangs involved and that what there was some Next is
certainly the proximity the type of violence that we've seen here.
Speaker 6 (12:25):
That's something detectors will look at very closely. Thanks sure,
thank you all very much. All Right, you've just been
listening to a pressure all right.
Speaker 2 (12:32):
That's the press conference that about the shooting that happened
around two point thirty. They said four men one women
were shot. The age ranges or nineteen to thirty five.
Two to three suspects pull up in a car. Could
be gang related. Probably is multiple shootings. They don't know
if there was some bad blood before maybe a shooting
(12:53):
that is connected to that that happened on Saturday in
the in the same area. And this is an area
right off the one ten freeway and between I think
it's Manchester and I don't know what the other street
is there, but Manchester in the in the Vermont Knowles area.
(13:16):
It's just west of the one ten freeway. And that's
what they're they're concentrating on right now, Vermont Square area.
What angel is this is this affecting imagine there's a
lot of traffic in there because a lot of streets
are closed too.
Speaker 11 (13:33):
Yeah, that sure is, and it is affecting Vermont Avenue,
So that is off limits right now from just about
eighty ninth Street as you make your way towards eighty
first Street. So as a result, a lot of people
taking Figaroa instead. And that is that runs parallel to
the one ten is just east of Vermont and Manchester
(13:53):
Avenue also just really messy right now from Main Street
on the west side of the one ten all the
way heading into Vermont. So lots of traffic in all directions,
especially on these alternates. While Vermont Avenue is closed right
now between eighty ninth Street and eighty first Street.
Speaker 4 (14:10):
All right, So this is very close to Manchester as well.
Speaker 11 (14:14):
Yeah, yeah, Vermont and Manchester.
Speaker 4 (14:16):
Okay, Vermont and Manchester, all right.
Speaker 2 (14:19):
And five people were shot in the middle of the
day as school was getting out. As the chief said,
school is getting out. There's a market there. Five people
shot looking for video. There's no clue on why, but
there's a ton of gang units out there to keep
the peace, at least, they said all the way through
the weekend. So welcome back. Well, if there's any more information,
(14:41):
we'll have that for you. We'll also continuing to talk
to Judy Mancuso about the legislation on helping pets after
a natural disaster. So lots going on. Keep it here
on KFI. It's Conway Thompson AM six forty is Convoy Show.
We just listened to a press conference. If there's any
more news coming U about the shooting, we'll have that
for you. Let's get back to Judy ANDUSO. Judy, I
know that you're working closely with Bill. I guess it's
(15:05):
AB four seventy eight to help the pets out a
natural disaster. It doesn't seem like there should be anybody
against this is The only thing that might be slowing
it down is having to hire three more people to
take care of this.
Speaker 11 (15:18):
That's try.
Speaker 5 (15:18):
We got through both houses with unanimous votes, zero no votes,
and everything's been going beautiful, and now we're at the
finish line and the Department of Emergency Services has put
a pretty big price tag on it. I mean it
(15:41):
shouldn't be big, but they did. And you know they
they don't even do the need.
Speaker 4 (15:47):
They have to hire three new people do that.
Speaker 2 (15:50):
There's nobody in Sacramento that has an extra minute to
help out on this. Everybody's fully employed and fully their
full days are taken care of and taken up.
Speaker 5 (16:00):
Well, there's two things that play here. This is how
Sacramento really works when bills are moving through and if
an agency, a department doesn't like your bill, they'll be
quiet right, and they see if the bill gets to
the finish line. Then once you're in the last throws
(16:22):
towards the finish line, that's when they come out and
zap you. And the reON how they zap you is
by putting a big, bloated price tag on your bill.
And so that is what's happening to us. It is
more political than it is reality in my eyes, because
(16:43):
the local jurisdiction is where the onus is to make
this stuff happen. Not oh yes, Oees has to interface
with them, but to have three full time's position is
over the touch.
Speaker 3 (17:00):
I'm sure.
Speaker 5 (17:01):
All right.
Speaker 4 (17:01):
We appreciate you coming on.
Speaker 2 (17:02):
Sorry about that news conference, and keep us updated, maybe
you know, every a couple of weeks or so as
this thing goes through and see if we can help
you out.
Speaker 3 (17:09):
Is there anything the public needs to do, Judy, AB four.
Speaker 5 (17:11):
Show Yes Friday, Yes, Friday's the deadline. So is do
or die after Friday? So if they could call Senator
an A. Cavalero nine one six six five one four
zero one four and tell her to please let AB
four seventy eight go to the Senate floor for a vote.
Speaker 4 (17:35):
Excellent. I appreciate you coming on. We'll give out that
number up until Friday. Thanks Judy, thank you so much.
Speaker 2 (17:41):
Jerdy MANCUSO call and if you're into pets, you don't
want to see pets die. If you don't call this number,
you hate pets. Nine ones, that's true. I guess I
want to confirm that number before I give that number
out again. All right, we're live on KFI. It's Conway
and Thompson.
Speaker 1 (17:58):
You're listening to Tim Conway Junior on demand from KFI
AM six forty.
Speaker 4 (18:05):
Just up KFI AM sixty. It is the Conway Show.
Speaker 2 (18:10):
Mark Thompson is here and during the break we just
discovered that we have somewhat of an answer. Maybe you've
had this happen to you before, maybe not. But I
was driving from Portland to Burbank over the weekend and
I left Portland the Portland area and I saw there
was a b in the car and I couldn't find it.
Speaker 4 (18:29):
And I looked for it for a whiles.
Speaker 2 (18:31):
I didn't want to get stung while I'm going eighty
miles an hour and then do cartwheels, so I couldn't
find it. I figured it just left and I get
down to Ashland, which is about three hundred and forty
miles from where I was going, and I see it's
on the dashboard and so I opened the door and
I shushed it out and it flew away. I'm like, oh,
that's great, he made it. But he's never going to
(18:54):
find his home hive again. No, he's you know, he's
three hundred and forty miles away from his crew. Yeah,
what will happen to him? He apparently because we looked
it up. Looked it up, and disorientation is what he faces.
He faces The bee big survival challenges disorientation. Most social
(19:18):
bees rely on landmarks, the sun, their hives, pheromones to navigate.
Speaker 3 (19:21):
Apparently, if the bee is dropped hundreds of miles away,
it's no way to recalculate that and find its original
high Wow. Also colony dependents. It suggested honey bees can't
survive long term alone. A worker bee is part of
a hive super organism, meaning it's food, shelter, and protection
come from the colony away from its hive. Its odds
of lasting more than a few days are slim nectar
(19:43):
and pollen foraging. If there are flowers nearby, the bee
might still forage for nectar and pollen, but with no
hive to bring resources back to, it's essentially surviving for itself.
Tim That could extend its life for a short while
days to weeks, depending on how old it already is,
and then possible integration. Some bee species can sometimes sneak
into another hive. If they're accepted, they'll usually guard bees,
(20:07):
reject or kill intruders, so finding a new colony isn't
a realistic survival strategy. Bottom line, B probably won't find
its way home, likely won't live long, but for at
least a few hours to days, it can still fly,
feed on local flowers, and survive on its own until
it becomes exhausted.
Speaker 2 (20:25):
I feel horrible it's over, But I didn't also want
to drive back three hundred and eighty miles to find
his hive.
Speaker 3 (20:33):
Yeah, I could see where, you know, you didn't want
to be too committed to the effort, that's right.
Speaker 2 (20:38):
But I watched a video because when I got to
the hotel, I asked the same story, will this bee survive?
And I found that hornets they thrive and they live
off killing bees, killing honey bees, and they eat the larva.
They go in, they eat the babies. And what they
do is they go in, they find a hive. Then
(20:58):
they go back and they tell the other hornets where
it is and they all converge. And how the honey
bees fight back is because you know, they're too small
to fight back physically. You know, one on one, they
gang up on the hornet and they heat their bodies up.
They surround the hornet, and they heat their bodies up
to one hundred and seventeen degrees and it burns the
hornet alive, the wasp or the hornet alive. But at
(21:21):
one eighteen the bee would die. So they got a.
Speaker 3 (21:24):
Very very little wig overal margin for air.
Speaker 2 (21:27):
But they don't ever go over one seventeen. Wow, they
keep it great. They keep it a one hundred and seventeen.
So twenty bees will put their one hundred and seventeen
degree body on this.
Speaker 4 (21:37):
Wasp and kill it.
Speaker 3 (21:38):
So that's a honeybee that would do that.
Speaker 4 (21:40):
Yeah, honey bees.
Speaker 5 (21:41):
Wow.
Speaker 4 (21:41):
But at one hundred and eighteen, one more degree and
they're done.
Speaker 3 (21:44):
Man, that's great.
Speaker 4 (21:45):
I mean, you know, the nature's is sensational.
Speaker 3 (21:49):
Nature is amazing.
Speaker 4 (21:50):
Now they really got it going on.
Speaker 6 (21:53):
You know.
Speaker 3 (21:53):
The astronomer Brian Cox, he's a very famous kind of
young astronomer, very celebrated guy British.
Speaker 4 (22:00):
Didn't he start super cuts? Is that different?
Speaker 6 (22:02):
Guys?
Speaker 3 (22:02):
What I thought the other Brian Cox I know is
that the guy on succession. Yeah. Anyway, he says to
your point about nature, that the things that had to
come together to make for this planet, the kind of
evolution that had to come together. All of these chemical
(22:24):
reactions over these millions of years, electrical reactions, chemical reactions,
the geological reactions, all these things had to come together
to give us this power of thought, of reflection, of
a sense of ourselves in the universe. He thinks it's
very likely that there is no other planet that would
(22:45):
have that kind of evolution possible in the entire galaxy.
The galaxy's made up of, you know, jillions of solar
system the millions of stars. I mean, it's a just
our Milky Way galaxy is an extraordinary thing. He thinks
we could be the only intelligent life like this in
the entire galaxy. Wow. And so it's kind of what
(23:06):
your point is, which is that the majesty and beauty
of nature is such a special thing, which is really
you know, why we should try to do what we
can to protect it.
Speaker 5 (23:15):
You know.
Speaker 2 (23:15):
The new James Web Space telescope is the you know,
the most powerful telescope they've ever had, by billions of
light years, and it focused on a little tiny area
of space the size of a dime. If you're holding
a dime twenty five miles from you, it would that's
how small the space is. And in that little tiny
(23:36):
space they found a planet or a star in the
eighteen hundred galaxies or in that little tiny space that's
thirteen billion light years away. So when we see that
the light left that star before this solar system even existed,
that's wild it And now we're just seeing it that is.
(23:57):
And so if that if that sun bird, if that's
the burns out, we still see the light for another
thirteen billion years.
Speaker 3 (24:03):
It's crazy. Yeah, you're looking back in time when you
look into the night sky.
Speaker 2 (24:08):
Space is unbelievable. Yeah, I mean, you know, just the
rules that are broken. Like if you're if you were
eighteen billions a billion light years away from Earth and
you took a telescope that's powerful enough to see Earth,
you would see Earth if it was like you know,
two hundred million years ago, you would if you would
(24:29):
saw Earth, you would see dinosaurs.
Speaker 4 (24:31):
Right, it's extraordinary. It is extraordinary, unbelievable.
Speaker 2 (24:34):
And then the people hate space have just turned onto
ESPN or Fox.
Speaker 3 (24:39):
You know, they're like, f FU with space.
Speaker 4 (24:41):
I don't get it out of want.
Speaker 3 (24:42):
Well, it's science. It's really fascinating. All right.
Speaker 2 (24:45):
We gotta take a break here. We got bad news
with hostess and ding dongs. No, we've got some bad
ding dong news. You have a special ding don correspondent
on this show. Seems like you should.
Speaker 4 (24:55):
Yeah, Tuesdays at six fifty to a ding dong report.
Speaker 2 (24:59):
Come on, it's kind of KFI AM and six morety
it is the Conway Show. Mark Thompson is here. Before
we get into these horrible story about the ding dong you.
You have a very popular show on YouTube.
Speaker 3 (25:13):
Thank you pal. It's called The Mark Thompson Show. Had
a lot of news and politics and stuff. So is
it just yours?
Speaker 4 (25:19):
And also Brian?
Speaker 3 (25:21):
There's no Brian. It's just I'm the other Mark Thompson,
not the Mark Thompson from Mark and Brian.
Speaker 4 (25:26):
I get confused.
Speaker 3 (25:26):
Yeah, people do make that mistake. But he's also he's
immensely talented and far wealthier and more successful than am I.
But what is how many listeners do you have to subscribe?
One hundred and thirty two thousand?
Speaker 4 (25:41):
Wow, that's great, dude. You were one hundred and fourteen
last time I checked.
Speaker 3 (25:43):
Yeah, it's really the things are tacking along. So you
got one hundred thousand viewer plaque? Yeah, they got the
big plaque behind me. It's in every shot and it's fun.
It's fun, I'll tell you. In my KFI family, I'm
getting tired even as I do it. I feel I'm
pretty diligent, you know me, I'm pretty diligent, like pretty
(26:04):
serious about stuff. But I could use a couple of
days off every weekend, you know, to.
Speaker 4 (26:09):
Make a success. I was just talking to Belly about this.
Speaker 2 (26:12):
In my opinion, to make a very successful YouTube channel
like you have, you have to put something out every day.
Speaker 4 (26:19):
Yeah, if you miss a day, they get after you.
Speaker 3 (26:22):
Yeah, and you have to. There's a lot of other stuff,
like we put out shorts like that are really cut
downs of stuff, conversations we've had. You have to do those.
Those are kind of promos. And so there's a lot
of like care and maintenance of a YouTube channel that
you're right has to. And then you just have to
take care to do a good show every day. I mean,
you know, and you know there are hills and valleys.
Something is going to be better than others, but you
(26:43):
just have to kind of maintain a standard. So, yeah,
it's some Mark Thompson show. It's on YouTube, and it
was also on the iHeartRadio network and on Spotify. We're on.
We're an audio podcast.
Speaker 2 (26:51):
Also, it's very successful, buddy, Thanks. Bad news with Hostess.
They're recalling ding dong.
Speaker 3 (26:59):
Oh no, this is how could this not be the
lead story on the.
Speaker 2 (27:03):
Show due to potential mold contamination? Oh my god, some
Hostess ding dongs sold the United States are being recalled
because the potential of the product may be contaminated with mold.
Speaker 3 (27:15):
What does that mean? It's been lying around in the
in the warehouse for too long.
Speaker 2 (27:20):
Don't they just taste like mold anyway? You know, so
you're buying. It wasn't clear what states or retail stores
were impacted.
Speaker 3 (27:28):
All school, thanks for the info.
Speaker 2 (27:30):
However, the affected products have a best by date of
August thirtieth through September third of twenty twenty five. And
they said we're committed to your health and safety. That
can't possibly be true. The guys making ding dongs are
committed to your health to.
Speaker 3 (27:48):
The point that right, there's nothing even when the ones
without the mold that is good for your health. I
love when people come to your events and they bring
ding dong. That's right, yeah, sort of a cool thing.
Speaker 2 (27:59):
It says host that says, we apologize for any convenience
it may have caused you. And then they show a
ding dong right there? You see that, Oh yeah, there
is big Dog.
Speaker 4 (28:08):
Whenever I see him at Walmart or Target, I always
yell that out, big dog.
Speaker 3 (28:13):
I hope that's true. Yeah, I do.
Speaker 4 (28:15):
And my wife's like, look, can you take a separate
cart and buzz around? It's embarrassing.
Speaker 3 (28:20):
It's funny when people come on the line, like Alex
Michael sent me to with him when I was filling
in for you, I guess last week. I'm trying to
think of what I was last week, and then that
out of nowhere, Alex goes ding dog with you. I'm thinking, Wow,
I forgot. I mean, it's just so funny because I'm
so used to you saying it. You know that, it's
very very funny to hear guests say it.
Speaker 2 (28:38):
Do you know how how does he spell his first
name e L e X? Yeah, right Elex. Yeah, it's
kind of a cool way to spell it.
Speaker 5 (28:45):
It is.
Speaker 2 (28:46):
And he's left Fox. Now he's going over to well,
I can't say, I don't know where he's going. Yeah,
he's going to He's going to someplace very exciting or
something very Yeah, I think he's going to the news NBC,
but he won't admit that or deny it. He actually
does deny it because I can't tell you where I'm going.
Speaker 3 (29:06):
Oh, did you guess I think you're going to what
they call it MS NOW or something?
Speaker 5 (29:10):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (29:10):
Ms now Yeah, And he said, look, he goes, you'll
be the first one I call when I when I
can tell everybody where I'm going.
Speaker 4 (29:17):
And I said, buddy, look, I barely care where.
Speaker 6 (29:21):
My friend is.
Speaker 3 (29:23):
Don't make me your first call.
Speaker 2 (29:25):
Yeah, you can set your mom and dad as the priority.
Put me down as an also, ram Yeah.
Speaker 3 (29:30):
That's right, just put me in the email blast. Okay,
But he don't worry about calling me.
Speaker 4 (29:34):
But he's off to a brand new star.
Speaker 3 (29:37):
Talented guy.
Speaker 10 (29:37):
Man.
Speaker 4 (29:37):
I think he recreates himself every you know, five to
ten years.
Speaker 3 (29:41):
Yeah, he's very talented that way. You know, he's a tall,
good looking dude. He knows his stuff. He's a good anchor.
Speaker 4 (29:46):
So he's young too. How old do you think he is?
Speaker 3 (29:48):
I'm going to guess he's I'm going to say, I'm
going to say he's thirty eight.
Speaker 4 (29:54):
Yeah, right round there, seven thirty eight years old.
Speaker 3 (29:57):
Yeah, it's pretty it's pretty uh, pretty great what he's done.
He's got a lot of a lot of uh road
ahead of him, that's right. And he's uh, he works
his ass off. There's nobody works harder than that guy. Yeah,
so true.
Speaker 4 (30:10):
Tomorrow another guy works his ass.
Speaker 3 (30:11):
Off, but he doesn't have a statue at Fox eleven
the way I do.
Speaker 4 (30:14):
But you have a statue in the lobby, no way?
Speaker 3 (30:18):
Yeah, like you know, you know, you see the Kobe
Bryant statue out in front of you have one in
front of Crypto. I was the number one newscast I
was a number one personality on that station. Tim. I
didn't know that a huge, huge ship, a bust statute.
Speaker 4 (30:31):
And a full statue or a boss or what is it?
Speaker 3 (30:34):
I'm gonna tell you. Honestly, I'm told that you can't
that they moved it out of the lobby. It's been
a while since I've been over there at Fox eleven.
But anyway, they should give it to you.
Speaker 4 (30:43):
Yeah, you're you're the kind of guy that would put
it up in his house.
Speaker 3 (30:46):
I got it. Well, I take that as a compliment.
Speaker 4 (30:50):
It is a compliment in a very prominent position in
your house. Like as you walk in.
Speaker 3 (30:55):
Oh wow, that's you. I'm so tired and still you're
making me laugh so much today. This has been great.
