Speaker 1 (00:00):
It's Camp I Am sixty and you're listening to the
Conway Show on demand on the iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 2 (00:07):
Dodgers, What a week?
Speaker 1 (00:09):
Dodgers won the World Series last Saturday, week from tomorrow,
one week aldgo from tomorrow. Toronto was four pitches away
from a World Series. Four pitches, I'm sorry, four strikes away,
four strikes away from a World Series. Rojas was three
to two count. He was the second guy up. Key
(00:30):
k Hernandez was first up. He struck out. Rojas came up,
he was the second guy up, went to a full count.
And Rojas has not hit a single home run this
year off a right handed pitcher, at least from what
I can tell. And he hits one deep over left
field wall to tie the game, and then they win
(00:52):
it in over top on extra innings, sorry in extra innings,
with Will Smith hitting home run. And I still can't
believe that all came together like that. It was an
unbelievable series. Everybody who knows sports says that's the best
World Series, and that's the best Game seven they've ever seen.
Everyone who knows sports much better than I do, that's
(01:13):
what they say. It's incredible. Unbelievable, just amazing. All right,
let's get into.
Speaker 2 (01:20):
Some odd news here.
Speaker 1 (01:22):
There was a Orange County. Orange County is loaded. Orange
County has so much money. I remember when Orange County
went bankrupt. I don't know ten, twelve, fifteen, oh as
longer than its probably about twenty five years ago. They
made some bad investments in the stock market and the
county went bankrupt. They just blew everything. Well, there's so
(01:43):
much money in Orange County that not only did they
make a comeback, but they have all their freeways are beautiful.
All the roads are beautiful in Orange County. It's a
really cool hang. Whether you're in northern Orange County, southern,
the middle section, wherever you are. If you live in
Orange County, I am completely jealous that you get to
(02:04):
live in OC. I'm stuck up here in the San
Fernando Valley with a bunch of naked guys running around
looking to break into homes. That's where I am in life.
You're in Orange County, enjoying yourself. I'm here in burbank
San Fernando Valley, scared to death. I'm gonna be blown
away by the next idiot. The swings by the house
(02:24):
with a gun or county fire.
Speaker 2 (02:27):
They got money too, what are they doing with it?
Let's find out.
Speaker 3 (02:34):
We got a demonstration of how the new Demer helicopter
hydrant will work. It's an eighty five hundred gallon water
tank built at the water treatment plant in Your Belinda
that can be filled and refilled in less than ten minutes.
Now during a fire, helicopter pilots will be able to
remotely open and operate this tank from the air, so
they won't have to waste time searching for a nearby
pond or other water source. One of the Metropolitan Water
(02:57):
District officials lives in Altadena. He saw how debis stating
the Eaton fires were earlier this year, and he said
that made him realize how important projects like this can be.
Speaker 4 (03:06):
When I think about facilities like this, it now really
takes on sort of a personal reason for me to
be involved and want to see these be successful, because
I really now value the importance of giving our first
responders the facilities that they need so that they can
come in when they have to save lives and save property.
Speaker 3 (03:24):
And this is actually the third helicopter hydrant that is
opening in the Your Belinda region, so it is something
that the firefighters know. It's a tool that they know works,
and they say they're happy to have more spread out
in different areas so they can respond when they need to.
Speaker 1 (03:38):
Yeah, we had that guy on the show. He created
this hydrant that is you know, it's you can move it.
It's mobile and you can literally move it to any
area you need. And then the helicopter comes and dips
it's beak there, fills up with five ten thousand gallons
and off to fight the fire. It's great idea, it's
(03:59):
great idea. Orange County they got it going on. But
Orange County is still facing some problems like we are
with hunger. There's a lot of people, there's forty five
million Americans to rely on food stamps or SNAP or
WICK or welfare or whatever you call it. And even
in Irvine there's a run on these food banks and
(04:22):
people are you know, they're hung great there.
Speaker 5 (04:24):
Yeah, they have been busy here because of so much
confusion with folks who get these snap benefits about what's
going to happen next, how much are they.
Speaker 6 (04:32):
Going to get on their EVD T cards.
Speaker 5 (04:34):
How much benefits are they going to get? So it's
been a very confusing situation right now. We are waiting
for a decision on an appeal, as you mentioned, filed
by the Trump administration.
Speaker 6 (04:44):
Here's what's going on right now.
Speaker 5 (04:46):
Right these benefits that were supposed to come to folks
November first were at first delayed because of the government shutdown.
But there were some court cases that got some of
those benefits flowing. Partial benefits were supposed to start flowing
to benefitiaries of the SNAP program, this is the former
food stamp program because of these court decisions, but not
(05:06):
full benefits.
Speaker 6 (05:07):
And for some.
Speaker 5 (05:07):
People, they still haven't gotten any of their benefits. And
these are people that rely on the SNAP program, the
former food stamp program, to get groceries on a monthly basis.
Speaker 6 (05:16):
So because of all the.
Speaker 5 (05:17):
Confusion and what's happening, there was a court decision yesterday.
Just to add to the confusion, there was a court
decision yesterday that said that the government must fund one
hundred percent of the SNAP benefits immediately. But that's the
one that was appealed. We're waiting for a decision to
see what's going to happen. So some people are getting
benefits right now, partial benefits, some aren't, Some don't know
when they're going to get there. So that has been
(05:38):
having an effect on food banks, including food banks here
the Second Harvest Food Bank we are in front of
right now here in Irvine. Here is some video I
think we have of the Second Harvest Food Bank. If
we have that queued up, you can see there are
some volunteers in there working today. We're talking to some
of the folks here about the situation and they say,
all this confusion, all this stuff going on with court
(06:00):
cases saying the benefits are going to be restored, when
are they going to be restored than the appeals? You know,
when are they going to get at All the questions
have been causing a spike in demand for services from
the food banks. Here's more from the CEO of the
Second Harvest Food Bank.
Speaker 7 (06:14):
We know that between last Thursday and last Sunday are
two on one systems on increase in call volume of
almost five hundred percent, with the assistance for food being
the number overtaking housing and being the number one reason
people were calling.
Speaker 1 (06:27):
Yeah, people are broke, they need their food. Up here
in Burbank at BTAG they have a lot of food.
People are really responding in Burbank and dropping off canned goods, soups, pasta, vegetables, bread,
and I went by the other day.
Speaker 2 (06:41):
They're loaded with food. They got a lot of food there.
Speaker 7 (06:44):
Our own system, when we called out to some of
our partners were reporting double the people in their distribution
lines and three times the number of people signing up
as new clients.
Speaker 2 (06:53):
Is that right? Three times the normal lines.
Speaker 7 (06:56):
And three times the number of people signing up as
new clients.
Speaker 6 (07:00):
And what she was referencing was the two one one system.
Speaker 5 (07:02):
So if you're in need of food or assistance, and
you're kind of in this situation in Limbo, don't know
when your benefits are coming here. In Orange County and
other counties, they have a two to one one system.
You can call two one one and find out if
there are any resources available for food or other assistance
you might need. So that's a good resource to tap
into if you live in one of those counties, one
of those areas with the two one one system in place.
Speaker 6 (07:24):
But as far as that course, so what.
Speaker 1 (07:26):
What do you when you call two on one You
just order food? You just order a takeout or pizzas.
I don't know, they tell you where the food bank.
Is I tried calling two one one, I didn't get anywhere?
What would they?
Speaker 6 (07:38):
Did?
Speaker 2 (07:38):
They say?
Speaker 1 (07:39):
Sporting try it again here, let's see. I'm gonna try

You're listening to Tim Conway Junior on demand from kf
I am six forty.
Speaker 1 (10:53):
Our next guest comes out of La PD and I
want to ask them about one of the the shooting
that happened today in Studio City. And then also he's
got a big cool thing that he's doing next May.
Speaker 2 (11:06):
We'll talk about that as well.
Speaker 1 (11:07):
His name is Jason Jacobson, LAPD's Finest.
Speaker 2 (11:11):
What's up, Bob?
Speaker 10 (11:12):
How you.
Speaker 11 (11:14):
Jimmy ding Dog? You ding Dogs is a Dodgers?
Speaker 2 (11:17):
Come on, I can't believe I watched.
Speaker 1 (11:20):
I've watched probably about ten hours a day of just videos,
and the one I'm watching right now, there's a still camera.
There's a camera on the owner's box of the Toronto
Blue Jays, and they all started jumping up and dancing
and hugging each other when the play of plate when
Smith caught Rojas's ball at the plate and they thought
(11:41):
they had won the break series and they didn't.
Speaker 2 (11:43):
It's really embarrassing, man.
Speaker 1 (11:45):
Yeah, no, luck, Hey, there was a shooting in Studio
City today. There was a naked guy. Maybe you saw this,
maybe you're on the case. There was a naked guy
running around. He tried to get into somebody's townhouse. The
woman was screaming. A veteran from a VIETA non veteran
came out and and I tried to get between him
and the woman and the homeless nude guy slammed the
(12:07):
Vietnam veteran to the ground, breaking both of his legs.
The veteran pulls out a gun and shoots him three
times and kills him. That's Is that a good self
defense there? Do you think this guy's gonna be thrown
in jail for this?
Speaker 11 (12:19):
Well, great day in America and yay a self defense
all the way.
Speaker 6 (12:23):
Yeah.
Speaker 11 (12:23):
I mean, look, you guys have stayed so about the
injury and next so yeah, he got with game to him.
Speaker 2 (12:31):
Yeah, bad vibes.
Speaker 6 (12:32):
Man.
Speaker 1 (12:32):
It's a bad day for them, worst day of his
life for that young man.
Speaker 2 (12:36):
And I feel bad for him.
Speaker 1 (12:37):
You know he's going through obviously, he's on whacked out
on drugs and he isn't know where he is. He's
nude in Studio City and he just went too far,
went too far man, So he's not with us anymore. Hey,
So I'm going to ask you you're going on this
special trip next May in honor of your ex partner,
Is that correct?
Speaker 11 (12:58):
I am so. I was with a part of an
officer Houston's tipping basically twenty two. He was in a
bike bicycle school. So the officers that goes to the
Bible school to roll around the police local book bikes
and one of the aspects of the school was they
(13:20):
were to dismount and then go into a physical conversation
with somebody and what we call a redman too. So
the redman which was my buddy Houston, and he loved it.
He's all around with such of gear head to tell
and the droppers would going there and basically affect their
arrest for the scenario. And unfortunately in the certace that
(13:46):
happened his spinal cor re severe. Oh no, so he
was kept alive for a number of days. But they
basically determined like, hey, we're keeping him alive, we're taking
things off. He's done.
Speaker 2 (14:04):
It's horrible.
Speaker 11 (14:05):
It is horrible in I mean, what a terrific proper
he was. He would go in too.
Speaker 1 (14:14):
I'm sorry, Jase, let me put you on hold. We've
got a horrible connection. I'm going to give out. Jason Jacobson.
He's going in May of next year, twenty twenty six
to join the Police Unity Tour Southern California chapter. It's
also the Challenge Ride, and so he's going to raise
some money so we can go do this and honor
his partner who was killed in the line of duty.
Speaker 2 (14:38):
And it's just horrible.
Speaker 1 (14:40):
So if you'd like to donate, you can go to
GoFundMe and just put in support Police Unity Tour in Memory,
where you can put in Jason Jacobson Police Unity Tour
and there's a picture of him with his motorcycle there
what looks like a lake or something, and you can
help this guy out. Man, what an emotional ride that's
(15:02):
going to be for, you know, all these fallen officers
who gave their lives to protect idiots like US Police
Unity Tour Challenge. It's up on GoFundMe. It's going to
be May of twenty twenty six. So if you go
to go fund me, just put in support Police Unity
Tour in Memory. You'll be directed right to it. Jason,
(15:23):
we appreciate you call them. So we got a bad connection.
Maybe we'll do it again. You know, sometime before obviously
before May of next year.
Speaker 9 (15:31):
You're listening to Tim Conway Junior on demand from KFI
AM six forty.
Speaker 1 (15:36):
You know, we've talked about how beautiful it is that
live in Orange County. The beaches are beautiful, the inland areas.
Newport Beach, I think has four of the most expensive
zip codes in the nation.
Speaker 2 (15:49):
A lot of money down there.
Speaker 1 (15:51):
But we're doing okay up here in the valley and
in North Hollywood. You know, we're holding our own. Here's
an interesting story about a dog who was well doing
valley stuff.
Speaker 10 (16:05):
Meet a tray. You a four year old German Shepherd
Husky mix. He's a rescue living in North Hollywood and
on Sunday.
Speaker 1 (16:11):
Okay, all right, a rescue in North Hollywood. Life's going
pretty good.
Speaker 10 (16:14):
He went out for a morning walk with his pet parents.
Speaker 1 (16:17):
Okay, out for a walk with his parents in North Hollywood.
How could this go wrong?
Speaker 10 (16:21):
And came back acting out of sorts?
Speaker 1 (16:23):
Wait, what what happened to the dog? He was just
walking with his parents in North Hollywood.
Speaker 2 (16:27):
What happened to this guy?
Speaker 12 (16:28):
He was just like not being able to settle down.
He was his eyes were moving in a weird way.
Speaker 2 (16:35):
Carlin or huss freaking out. Dog's freaking out?
Speaker 10 (16:38):
Carlin her husband rushing the dog to their veterinarian who
started checking his vitals.
Speaker 12 (16:42):
He's hard, right, he was really like elevated, and he
was panting a lot and like again, couldn't settle down.
He had a fever one hundred and fifty feet a
free fever.
Speaker 10 (16:52):
A sign showing you had toxins in his body.
Speaker 2 (16:54):
Uh oh, what happened? What does this guy do? What
does dog do that?
Speaker 10 (16:58):
Giving a tray? You a drug test came back positive
for methanphetamines.
Speaker 2 (17:02):
How about that?
Speaker 6 (17:04):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (17:04):
North Hollywood drug dog goes out and he comes back
on methn fhetamines.
Speaker 10 (17:09):
Came back positive for methanphetamines.
Speaker 2 (17:11):
Dog's on meth.
Speaker 10 (17:12):
Carlo's husband believes he ate it in their alley.
Speaker 12 (17:15):
It's easier for them to come back.
Speaker 10 (17:16):
Through the alley.
Speaker 1 (17:17):
There's so much myth in North Hollywood. Dogs just casually
eat it in the alleys. Right, He's walking around like
there's a bone, here's a piece of a chicken. Oh,
it's a little meth' I'll ace that of our apartment.
Speaker 12 (17:31):
And they came and he said he saw him grab something,
but he couldn't tell what he like ate it super fast.
Speaker 10 (17:38):
Every few days, I see a case like this terinary
what waititute?
Speaker 1 (17:44):
Every few days you see a dog on methan phetamine.
Speaker 11 (17:48):
Every few days I see a case like this.
Speaker 10 (17:52):
Veterinarian doctor Amos says it's an issue he sees often
in La.
Speaker 1 (17:57):
Yeah, if you're in Newport, I would come back to
North Hollywood. We're not ready for you yet. We're not
ready for you. Give us some time here. You know,
we're still adjusting in the valley. So if you live
in Dana Point, Newport, Laguta, Neguel, I don't know wherever.
Speaker 2 (18:13):
You are, hold on there for a while.
Speaker 1 (18:16):
Let me let me straighten up the valley here and
then you can come on back.
Speaker 2 (18:23):
Yeah, we got we got work to do, work to
do here.
Speaker 1 (18:26):
So if you live in Newport or Coast to Mesa,
Seal Beach, Huntington Beach, and you just can't wait to
get back to North Hollywood, give me a minute, Give
me a minute. I got a we got some housekeeping
to do before you bring the dogs.
Speaker 11 (18:38):
Back anywhere that there might be people doing drugs. They
might be dropping stuff that the animals can eat.
Speaker 10 (18:43):
And this isn't even the first time a tray you
has eaten something he wasn't supposed to Okay.
Speaker 1 (18:47):
I talked to a friend of mine, and there's a
ton of people that live in like Dana Point, San Clemente,
Newport Coast, a Mesa, hunting In Beach, Seal Beach, Sunset Beach.
Is a ton of people who live in those communities
who just can't wait to get back to North Hollywood.
(19:07):
And so I'm telling you give it a couple more months.
Don't all race back at once. I talked to a
friend of mine who works at U haul and he said,
right now, all the U hauls are being rented by
people who live in Newport, Dana Point, and Huntington Beach,
and they're all wanting to move to North Hollywood. And
they're just swamped, swamped. They don't have enough trucks. But
(19:29):
if you do, if you're one of these cats who's
moving back to North Hollywood from deep Orange County, give
it a minute, give it a minute. Let me let
me just tell you give it another couple of weeks
before you move back.
Speaker 12 (19:39):
It happened a few months ago with Weed in the Park.
That time he was the opposite. He was like, Barry drowsy.
Speaker 1 (19:46):
He was like, so this is the second time this
dog has been high just because he's walking around North Hollywood.
So again, give us a while, We need some time.
Speaker 12 (19:59):
Trying to stand and then who would pee on himself?
Speaker 2 (20:01):
These things that's what happens when I.
Speaker 12 (20:04):
Get high, trying to stand up and then who would
pee on himself?
Speaker 2 (20:07):
It's true, what's okay? Yeah, he's enjoying himself. He's high
on weed.
Speaker 9 (20:13):
These things are gonna happen.
Speaker 11 (20:14):
Having a good relationship with a vet is a great idea.
Speaker 10 (20:17):
But if a dog consumes meth, doctor Amos saying, the
consequences could be deadly.
Speaker 2 (20:21):
A dog could definitely die from a meth overdose. Yes,
anybody can. It's just a dog.
Speaker 4 (20:27):
The real devil is in the details of like how
much they got into and how big the dog is.
Speaker 10 (20:32):
Carla sharing her story so pet parents know what to
do if this happens to their furry friends.
Speaker 12 (20:37):
How does it look when they get in contact with
a substance like this.
Speaker 1 (20:42):
Because it's scary, Yeah, sucks, dog's uh, maybe the dog's
an addict, you know, and and just the parents don't
know that's possible as well.
Speaker 9 (20:51):
You're listening to Tim Conway Junior on demand from KFI
AM six forty.
Speaker 1 (20:57):
Norm mcmcdonald was on with Ray Romano and I never
heard this story before, but it's something light and funny.
Ray Ramono is one of the funniest guys in the world.
And he's talking about how everyone everybody loves Raymond, how
they got the title of that show, and he hates it.
(21:17):
He hates the title of that show. Everybody Loves Raymond.
And Ray Romano grew up in New York. He was
a comedian. His brother was on the NYPD and so
he tells a very funny story on how the title
of his show was created.
Speaker 13 (21:38):
Here it is this is what nobody knows, which which
is what I hate, is that everybody loves Raymond.
Speaker 10 (21:44):
Yeah.
Speaker 13 (21:44):
Yeah, it wasn't a title I wanted. It was a
quote from my brother, said sarcastically in truth in real life. Yeah,
he came over my house. He saw the case. I
want to like a cable Ace award, which we don't know. Yeah,
and he said, look at it. What's the Yeah, I
got it. They just gave.
Speaker 11 (22:01):
Me in one.
Speaker 13 (22:02):
And he just goes, look at it, look at look
at this, look at our lives. You know, he was
a cop, New York City cop. He said, people spit
at me, they shoot at me. Everybody loves and so
that got in the show and Phil Rosenhol said, let's
use it as a working title.
Speaker 6 (22:18):
It's a working title.
Speaker 13 (22:20):
And I said, Oh, it's gonna stick.
Speaker 10 (22:23):
This is what.
Speaker 2 (22:24):
Sure enough, it stuck. Oh that's fantastic.
Speaker 8 (22:28):
Hey.
Speaker 1 (22:28):
Uh, there's some breaking news coming out of Florida here
that is not good. This just came out of Miami Dade, Florida.
I just saw this. Miami Dade Sheriff's deputy has been
killed and he shot during an altercation. And Miami Dade
sheriff deputy died after he was shot during an altercation
(22:50):
while responding to a traffic crash on Friday, that's today.
According to the sheriff, Deputy Devon Heramilo Heramo, twenty seven,
was shot before four pm in the area of the
twelve two hundred block of Southwest twenty eighth Street.
Speaker 2 (23:13):
And I had said here.
Speaker 1 (23:15):
He worked in the Kendall District, had responded to a
traffic crash before he was brutally attacked. When he was
murdered bystanders called nine to one one. Deputies responded and
gave him first aid before he was rushed to a
local hospital where he died of his injuries. And there's
some audio here of a press conference that they had
(23:38):
probably less than an hour ago. And I'll play this
for he's it's pretty pretty brutal. You can hear the
emotion in this woman's voice talking about this deputy.
Speaker 14 (23:51):
What happened to our deputy is not okay. He gave
the ultimate sacrifice his life defending us, defending you, and
we need to understand as a society and as a community,
that's just unacceptable.
Speaker 10 (24:09):
We will not accept that ever.
Speaker 2 (24:14):
Yeah, that's a very sad story.
Speaker 1 (24:16):
Miami Dade County deputy was killed in the line of duty.
Speaker 2 (24:20):
And he and he looks very young too.
Speaker 1 (24:24):
That's it's it's just it's unbelievable, you know, the the
amount of crap that cops get nowadays and how dangerous
it is.
Speaker 2 (24:35):
It's unreal.
Speaker 1 (24:36):
No other details about the suspect were were released, but
it says, quote, he's not only a deputy, he's a son,
he's a brother, he's a friend. What happened to our
deputy is not okay. We just heard that audio. Aerial
footage from chapter six showed a large police enforcement or
a large law enforcement presence at the scene, along with
(24:59):
fire rescue crew and SWAT vehicles as well. A portion
of the parking lot was closed by the police tape,
and a parked car appeared to be covered by a
yellow tarp. A source said the suspect was dead inside
that car, though officials haven't confirmed that information in investigation
(25:19):
is underway on how he died. Footage also showed that
the Florida Highway Patrol troopers and FBI agents were on
the scene, and it was later learned that the Sheriff's
office was investigating whether the deputy was shot with his
own gun during the altercation. So it's very a sad
note to leave on a Friday, but it's dangerous out there.
(25:41):
It's not just La, it's everywhere. These cops put up
with a lot of crap, man, a lot of crap,
and now this guy is not going home to his family.
So God bless him and that whole law enforcement agency
in Miami Dade County. Tiffany Hobbs is up next. It's
