Speaker 1 (00:00):
It's KFI AM six forty and you're listening to the
Conway Show on demand on the iHeartRadio app. What Mark
Thompson is here? Lots going on in the news. We
have the Charlie Kirk Memorial which will be happening this Sunday,
the day after tomorrow in Arizona, and it is going
(00:21):
to be a huge deal they are expecting. I saw
a piece this morning on one of the cable news
stations him remember which one. I was watching News Nation
I think, and they said they're talking to the chief
of police in Phoenix, Arizona, and they are preparing for
two hundred and fifty to three hundred and fifty thousand people.
(00:42):
Geez showing up on Sunday.
Speaker 2 (00:44):
Oh, you got the President coming to which means that
you know, you'll have all the additional Secret Service and
other security.
Speaker 1 (00:52):
Yeah, logistics have to work out. You're gonna get the
city cops there, Glendale copps, Phoenix cops, You're going to
have the count cops, the state cops, and then the FEDS.
Plus they're also having all three of them, are supplying
a swat team and bomb sniffing dogs for the event.
So they're also a do not fly zone thirty miles
(01:14):
around the arena, and that includes Phoenix Airport, So I
don't know how they're going to work that. You know,
when the president's in town, you can't fly within thirty
miles or wherever he is sure, and they'll also have
two or three F eighteens flying at around twenty to
twenty three thousand feet above them where you can't see
him or hear them, but they can come down and
(01:37):
mess your s up in about maybe thirty forty seconds.
So it's going to be a huge deal. None of
the networks are carrying it. Look I saw today. ABC's
carrying it online, so is CBSNBC, but Fox News is
going to carry it live, and I think News Nation
is carrying it live as well. But that's going to
(01:59):
be a big event. Charlie Kirk Memorial And if you're
just tuning in or just coming out of coma or
maybe just arrive in the country, was shot and killed
a week ago Wednesday in Utah in when he's giving
a speech and having a debate with a bunch of
the kids who went to Utah Valley University. Let's get
the speaker line up and find out who's going to
(02:21):
be speaking this Sunday at the Charlie Kirk Memorial.
Speaker 3 (02:24):
All right, this celebration of life happening once again at
the University of Arizona. We have been seeing really tributes
continue to happen really across the country ever since the
assassination of Charlie Kirk. And on this Sunday, there is
going to be a big, big memorial for Charlie Kirk
(02:48):
at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. Here is a
live look at that stadium that will be packed. We
are expecting close to sixty thousand people coming to support
Charlie Kirk and also see some of the big name
speakers that will be there. Take a look at the
(03:09):
list that was just released by Turning Point USA, and
you can just see. I mean, we have President Donald Trump,
we have the Vice president JD.
Speaker 1 (03:18):
Vance, and here's the list, you know, fifth and not
admitted into this report. You know, we finally get the
list of speakers. He's patting his part. Yeah, the last
was like, please, let's just get to the.
Speaker 2 (03:29):
List, man.
Speaker 3 (03:30):
Just see, I mean, we have President Donald Trump, we
have the Vice President JD. Vance, and of course the
widow Erica Kirk and then you can also see just
the more of the big time speakers. We have Secretary
Marco Rubio, Secretary Bobby Kennedy, Secretary Pete Hegseth, Director Tulci Gabbert,
Donald Trump Junior Tucker Carlson will be there, Stephen Miller,
(03:54):
as well as Sergio Gore and Suzanne Scott of Box News.
And then it also says more names to be announced,
and again that is happening this Sunday. And on the
bottom there it has the fight for Charlie dot com
website that has been trying to again bring up support
for a turning point and really a Charlie Kirk's mission
(04:18):
as well. But I just want to give you another
live look here.
Speaker 2 (04:21):
All right.
Speaker 1 (04:21):
And then so a lot of networks are going to
be covering this. There's gonna be people from around the world,
and the local, state and federal law enforcement. They're working
together prepare the memorial and they expect anywhere on the
low end sixty thousand people, on the high end, three
hundred and fifty thousand people. According to the Arizona Department
of Public Safety. The US Secret Service they are expecting
(04:45):
two hundred and fifty thousand people, So that means a
lot of people will be driving to this event. So
traffic is going to be tough. And if you left
today it'll probably be easier than if you leave tomorrow.
But I think if you leave tomorrow and and you
just you know, you expect, I don't know's a I
think it's a three hundred mile trip or so. I
guess I could tell you exactly how my miles it is,
(05:07):
and it's going to take you probably seven or eight hours.
But as you drive along the ten Freeway, which is
the way that you know, the route that most people
will take, then you're gonna see caravan after caravan, and
you might even be part of one of it. You know,
all of a sudden, you look around and you see
you know, American flags or Charlie Kirk on the bumper
(05:28):
or on the windows, painted on the windows or stuff.
And it'll be like a big road trip with a
bunch of people who are going to you know, like
I don't know, almost like a concert. You know, they're
all going they're all big Charlie Kirk fans or Trump fans,
and they're going to the State Farm or I guess
it was an all State. I think it's a state farm,
(05:49):
and then they also have the arena next door, which
is where the Coyotes played, and I think they've also
secured that for the overflow.
Speaker 2 (05:56):
But these are outdoor venues or no.
Speaker 1 (05:58):
The State farm is indoor, and so hopefully the air
condition will be on because it'll be one hundred degrees.
Speaker 2 (06:03):
It's going to be so hot.
Speaker 1 (06:04):
It's gonna be hundred in hell and the surrounding areas.
You know, it's a fairly new stadium, so you don't
get a lot of big trees around there. Hopefully they
have tents and water and fans and air conditioners set
up because you know, when you get let's say there
is two hundred thousand people and people are passing out,
and you know, it's very hard for the paramedics to
keep up on people passing out. A lot of people
are going to be older, maybe not aware of you know.
(06:27):
You know, they're being told to stand in line starting
at eight am. You have to be in line at
eight am to get into the arena, into the stadium
well from eight to eleven or whenever they let them
in eight to ten. That's two hours standing in one
hundred degree heat. A lot of people are not set
up for that.
Speaker 2 (06:43):
Yeah, it's definitely going to test people, but I mean,
I think that's part of it. It's a big sojourn there,
and yeah, I think right a lot of people feel
the kind of devotion, you know. All Right, So that's
Sunday at eleven am. It'll be live on Fox News
also News Nation, and it'll be streamed on all the
other CNN, MSNBC. I think it's also on ABC, CBS, NBC.
(07:06):
It'll be on their streaming network, so you're able to
see it. You'll be able to see it wherever you are.
Speaker 4 (07:10):
You're listening to Tim Conway Junior on demand from KFI
AM six forty.
Speaker 1 (07:16):
You ready for fall.
Speaker 2 (07:19):
Back to school?
Speaker 1 (07:21):
What's what are you doing for Halloween?
Speaker 2 (07:22):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (07:23):
One eight hundred five too?
Speaker 2 (07:24):
Oh yeah? Most popular, well, most popular costumes.
Speaker 1 (07:27):
Let's hear from you, dear, it's hot toylet Christmas one
eight hundred five to oh one.
Speaker 2 (07:33):
Five three four?
Speaker 1 (07:35):
All right. Let me ask you a question. You've seen
these videos recently, so have I and everybody else on
the program where these whales are attacking boats. Yeah, now
here's the question I have for you. Has that been
happening for decades and centuries and because nobody had video,
we just didn't see it.
Speaker 2 (07:54):
Or is that something new? That's a great question. I
don't know, and I haven't heard anybody else ask that question.
Like it's like the tornado thing. Are there more tornadoes
or does everybody just have the means to record the
tornentos now exactly?
Speaker 1 (08:05):
Or do we live closer to tornado?
Speaker 2 (08:06):
Yeah? Right, right, And you know, maybe both it's true
in the case of tornado's But I would say that
that I don't know the answer to the to the
but it's.
Speaker 1 (08:14):
Weird because you know, you can also extend that to
people fighting on airplanes. Are there more people fighting on
airplanes now? Or does everybody have a camera and we're
seeing it more? And I'll tell you what I think
it is. I think there's more people fighting on airlines
because when I flew as a kid, I never saw
anybody in my life do anything inappropriate on a plane
until I was about forty. Yeah, never, And I used
(08:35):
to fly all the time my mom or dad, and
we'd fly to Cleveland to see my grandparents in Detroit
or you know, windsor Ontario, and so I flew around
with my dad quite often. I never saw anybody do
anything even remotely.
Speaker 2 (08:50):
Violent. Ever. On the plane thing, We've all flown enough
that we know that the incidents are just higher. They are,
and the irritants are higher too, Like you know, they
pack you in tighter. The humiliation associated with the security
is greater. Everything is just worse. So and the service
or whatever you know you're expecting a comfort factor is
(09:10):
just bad. So yeah, So I think similarly, this is
kind of it's actually a pretty good parallel. I think
what you're talking about with the whales, these people who
spend time a lot of time on the water say,
you know, this is a new phenomenon. I'm going to
say that decades of data suggest that it is kind
of a new cabinet.
Speaker 1 (09:31):
All right, Well you know then then okay, then that
expands the the conversation to it's not just people that
are getting angrier, it's also whales because the animals.
Speaker 2 (09:43):
The irritants for the whales are greater. Right, More boats,
oceans getting more polluted.
Speaker 1 (09:48):
Life's just horrible, right, And maybe I know you're not
you know, you're not on board like I am, But
maybe the water is getting warmer and that's irritating them.
You know, of course that's true. Right, let's talk about
these orcas. They turned over a boat and sank it.
How about these effing orchids. I'm on team whale too,
all right, I'm on team boat. I'm on the boat, guys,
(10:11):
it's stopping.
Speaker 5 (10:12):
Video A pot of orcas swarms a torre.
Speaker 6 (10:14):
Sailboat, ramming the vessel repeatedly circling the boat carrying five
people over the weekend, about five miles off the coast
of Portugal.
Speaker 2 (10:24):
Wow.
Speaker 6 (10:24):
In video shared by the Portuguese nautical center Terra Incognitia,
you can see the crew start to panic and the
boat eventually goes under the bow, tipping into the water
and sinking.
Speaker 1 (10:35):
Now, these orcas have quite the story to tell other orcas.
They sank a boat with five people on board. That's
got to be a big story in the Orca world. Sure,
it's got to be.
Speaker 6 (10:45):
The Portuguese Navy says. All five people were safely rescued
without injury. And later that day the Navy says.
Speaker 1 (10:52):
Let me and now, I know there's going to piss
you off, but maybe if we capture more of.
Speaker 2 (10:57):
These come on.
Speaker 1 (10:59):
That is how area put them at SeaWorld.
Speaker 2 (11:01):
That is blasphemy awfulness.
Speaker 1 (11:03):
Then, and they don't kill us anything, don't even they
don't kill us anymore. Yes, I'm just saying. I'm just saying,
if we catch catch more of them, put them in
sea World and we can be uh, it'll be easier
on the oce.
Speaker 2 (11:17):
Angry about SeaWorld, Tim, if you ever thought about that,
I don't know. Maybe that's the thing that's Britzi. Maybe
if you close sea World then all of this would stop.
Speaker 1 (11:25):
I don't think so. I think SeaWorld's saving these people,
teaching them how to behave in the ocean for five
or six years.
Speaker 2 (11:31):
Ocean, then let them go in bathtubs.
Speaker 1 (11:33):
That's right.
Speaker 6 (11:34):
And later that day the Navy says another incident with
the same pot of orcas.
Speaker 1 (11:38):
Oh, it's the same pod, the angry pot above Orchestre,
the Gangster pod. Yes, the gangs pod.
Speaker 5 (11:45):
It's part of an uptick.
Speaker 6 (11:46):
Over the last five years, hundreds of orca runnings have
been recorded, mostly here off the coast of Portugal and Spain.
Speaker 1 (11:52):
Yeah, they're all off Spain. It's weird. There's no angry orcas,
you know, off the east coast of the United States
or West coast or what do you call it the
Gulf of America. Oh, yeah, it's none of that, you know,
But it's always in Portugal or Spain.
Speaker 2 (12:05):
Maybe you're going on there. Maybe the words got to
get out, and maybe it's going to get in all
those other places.
Speaker 5 (12:10):
Vision Maybe the encounters can be alarming.
Speaker 7 (12:12):
They are the top predator of the ocean litis though
Cornosaurus rex has got its eyes set on you.
Speaker 6 (12:19):
But experts say they're not targeting humans. The orcas often
sink their teeth into boat rudders, getting pulled along, but
rudders aren't designed for that kind of force.
Speaker 7 (12:28):
The not consciously doing harm to boats, but it is
a behavior that is causing harm ultimately.
Speaker 1 (12:35):
Do you think they're just playing with the boats?
Speaker 2 (12:37):
I don't know about that.
Speaker 1 (12:38):
They're sinking a lot of them though I see it
all the time, all the time.
Speaker 6 (12:42):
Iberian orcas they're critically endangered. Scientists say the population number
fewer than fifty. Organs are the largest member of the
dolphin family.
Speaker 5 (12:50):
They can grow thirty two feet long and weigh six tons.
Speaker 1 (12:53):
Wow did you hear that? First of all, I didn't
know when orca was a dolphin, that was a whale.
Speaker 5 (12:58):
Thirty two feet long and waste six.
Speaker 1 (13:00):
Tons thirty two foot orca wasting your little catamaran or
your little boat. It's gotta be scary as hell.
Speaker 2 (13:07):
It's scary. But I mean, you know, they're not after
the peoples, the people dropping the water. The orca is
not gonna hurt them.
Speaker 1 (13:12):
I don't know. I don't know.
Speaker 5 (13:14):
Living as long as ninety years.
Speaker 2 (13:16):
Wow.
Speaker 6 (13:17):
Back in May of twenty twenty three, a sunset sail
dramatically interrupted by a pot of workers destroying.
Speaker 5 (13:24):
The rudder, piercing the whole.
Speaker 6 (13:26):
The trend started back in twenty twenty and scientists still
don't know exactly why.
Speaker 7 (13:32):
I think they're realdy. Here is they are targeting boats,
and it seems to be a play behavior engaged by
young males.
Speaker 1 (13:40):
No, it's always the guy. I love the young male,
always blaming the young men.
Speaker 2 (13:44):
They're always up for a party.
Speaker 1 (13:45):
What are they gonna do next? Knock off a AutoZone?
What's the next one? The orcas list out there, these orcas.
All right, we gotta take a break. Welcome back Jimmy
Kimmels in the news. We'll find out what's going on
with him. And we also have that big, huge memorial.
I think we talked a lot about that, but I
know people want information because there's people in the car
right now driving to Glendale, Arizona and paying your last
(14:09):
respects or paying your respects to Charlie Kirk and his family.
And so if you're on the road right now, you
are probably not alone. You probably passed dozens of cars
heading the same way for the same reason.
Speaker 4 (14:21):
You're listening to Tim Conway Junior on demand from KFI
AM six forty in the house.
Speaker 1 (14:27):
Baby, Yeah, we've had some chaos at the airport. So
if you're going to Dallas and you have or you
have somebody flying in from Dallas, they had a big problem.
The computers went down, the phones went down, the communications
between the air traffic control and the planes went down,
and it could have been a horrific, horrific scene in
(14:51):
Texas tonight.
Speaker 8 (14:52):
Chaos at two of the nation's busiest airports after a
major radar and communications outage were that a thousand flights
canceled or delayed.
Speaker 9 (15:00):
We lost all radar, phone.
Speaker 1 (15:02):
They lost radar and the way to communicate to the planes.
Other than that everything was firing and all that.
Speaker 9 (15:08):
We lost all radar phone.
Speaker 8 (15:10):
Air traffic controllers that Dallas love Field and Dallas Fort
Worth International losing the ability to communicate with each other,
causing ground stomps.
Speaker 9 (15:18):
We'll not the party anybody, and so we can get
a system so that we have no comments with the
approach right now.
Speaker 8 (15:24):
Listen, as a Southwest pilot in the air and still
able to reach the tower, passed along a message between
air traffic controllers who could not communicate that approach.
Speaker 9 (15:33):
Wanted to pass on to you to stop all the parties.
They can't get hold of you to comment.
Speaker 1 (15:38):
Said, yeah, yeah, I think the entirements questions went down,
but thank you.
Speaker 8 (15:42):
We had a hold of somebody tonight, the FAA saying
it was not their equipment that caused the outage, instead
blaming a local telephone company equipment issue.
Speaker 1 (15:51):
The new constructions the airports.
Speaker 9 (15:52):
It up for a couple days ago with somebody.
Speaker 1 (15:54):
To cut a line and we watch, Oh I see, okay,
so there was construction at the airport. Yeah, that's his problem.
Then that's second incident this week. The President was flying
from Washington, d C. To England for a big state
dinner over there, right, and Air Force one gets the
right of way whenever it flies, you gotta watch out
(16:15):
for Air Force one. They don't watch out for you.
Speaker 2 (16:17):
That's why they call it air Force one.
Speaker 1 (16:19):
That's right. Your everyone else is two, three, four, five,
nine thousand. So Spirit Airlines amongst the the better classier
airlines here in the United States. Sure higher end, that's right.
And somebody got in the way of Air Force one.
Speaker 10 (16:35):
With increasing urgency, air traffic controllers repeatedly ordered these Spirit
Airlines pilots to pay attention and change course after seeing
their plane flying towards Air Force one when over Long
Island Now. At one point, controllers were told to get
off their iPad. Here's how it played out over atc
audio here at twenty.
Speaker 9 (16:56):
Degrees right now, Spirit Wings thirteen twenty degrees immediately.
Speaker 1 (17:01):
Wow, man, you could hear the desperation.
Speaker 2 (17:03):
Yeah, you don't want to get that call.
Speaker 1 (17:04):
Holy smokes.
Speaker 9 (17:06):
Spir Wing thirteen turned twenty degrees right immediately, thirteen hundred
traffics off your left wing by six or eight miles
seven forty seven. I'm sure you can see who it is.
Speaker 1 (17:17):
I'm sure you can see who it is. I guess
they can't say it's the president, so they have to
say I guess you apparently who it is.
Speaker 2 (17:26):
I'm sure that's the reason.
Speaker 9 (17:27):
Yeah, I'm sure you can see who it is. To
keep an eyelets for white and blue.
Speaker 10 (17:31):
That plane, of course, was Air Force one, which was
carrying President Trump to London. Now, at one point the
planes were flying parallel, about eight miles apart. The FAA
tells me just moments ago, their preliminary investigation shows that
there was not a loss of separation here, but it
was clearly closer than those controllers wanted the planes to be.
Speaker 1 (17:48):
Spirit tells CBS News.
Speaker 10 (17:50):
The pilots followed instructions and landed uneventfully, adding safety is
always our top priority.
Speaker 1 (17:56):
Yeah, they always say that safety is the top priority. Yeah,
is always our top always the top priority.
Speaker 2 (18:03):
Exactly.
Speaker 1 (18:03):
And right before the two planes crashed into each other,
we have La Metro's long awaited Pomona extension is done.
So now you can go from Pomona all the way
to Long Beach on one train.
Speaker 2 (18:17):
Oh that's great.
Speaker 1 (18:17):
Actually, yeah, it's a lot of fun and it's all finished.
Speaker 2 (18:21):
I don't know if it's fun.
Speaker 1 (18:22):
Oh no, it is. It's a good time. All the
cool cats are on the train. Okay, that's right, that's
exactly right. Let's get more information from our sister station
k t l A into the Metro A line is opening.
Speaker 11 (18:34):
KLA's Omar lewis live with where all the new stops are.
Speaker 1 (18:39):
Good morning, and they've been waiting a while for this,
the people in Pomona. They were promises last year than
the year before that, and today finally it's done. And
I think, Mark, you know you won't ride it because
you're a snob, but I mean, normal people, you can
ride it for free. I think for the next month,
I think, let's find out.
Speaker 2 (18:57):
Well, I'm a snob who appreciates values, so maybe I
will write.
Speaker 12 (19:02):
Good morning, Jess and Frank. Yeah, we're live this morning
from the new Pomona North station where they are rolling
out the welcome matts and running the very first A
Line train into town. You can see one of them
behind me here this morning. This is the first time
they've had service.
Speaker 1 (19:18):
Like, oh, this guy just got robbed. Guy just got robbed.
Oh man, right before that train, the first train, right
before I left the station for the first time. Wow,
you can clearly see it here. Two guys robbed another
guy took his wallet, his iPad and his bike and split.
Speaker 2 (19:34):
Ah, that's really bad.
Speaker 1 (19:37):
They got so close to a big brand opening. Oh,
it's terrible in.
Speaker 12 (19:41):
This area in more than seventy years. Want to bring
in Edna's Stanley, chief Deputy operations Officer for Metro this morning,
thank you so much for joining us.
Speaker 13 (19:50):
Really appreciate that. Good morning, good morning.
Speaker 5 (19:52):
Nice to have you here.
Speaker 1 (19:53):
This is a big deal, Marko, for LA to go
from Pomona to Long Beach on one train. That that's
the longest route in America. Sure it is for the
Metro for a Metro actually light rail line the longest
in the world.
Speaker 14 (20:06):
Really closure over the time, and it was the longest
in the world before this extension today.
Speaker 1 (20:13):
Oh I know that. Does this come anywhere in New
York place?
Speaker 2 (20:16):
It is.
Speaker 14 (20:17):
They have two more stops to go before this a
line is done, and it's Claremont and Montclair and then
it's done.
Speaker 1 (20:22):
No way, how far from your house will the stop be?
Speaker 14 (20:25):
It's probably well, the Claremont one is not even a
mile for me. Oh my god, I mean this one
here in Pomona, it's probably three miles, four miles from me, all.
Speaker 1 (20:33):
Right, So when it comes to Claremont, you're gonna be
taking the train every day. Oh yes, yeah, I think
dong with you.
Speaker 13 (20:39):
Thank you so much. Tell us about what's in store
for today. Oh, we're excited.
Speaker 15 (20:42):
So this is the opening of the new A line
extension out here to Pomona, where actually I'm adding nine
miles to the A line who for a total of
fifty eight miles. And guess what, this is the longest
light row line in the world.
Speaker 1 (20:58):
Man. All right, so here's what you got. You got
a Zuza out there, and then you've got the Citrus
College that that that's the one east of there. And
then where it ended before that's okay, that's where it ended.
Speaker 2 (21:08):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (21:08):
Then they added Glendora, San dimass Or, sand Dumbass, Laverne
and Pomona, and then you say it's gonna be Claremont
and then Montclair Claire yep, and then it's ended. Wow, Wow, Wow.
Speaker 5 (21:22):
Gabriel Valley.
Speaker 15 (21:23):
Exciting times for the region.
Speaker 13 (21:25):
Tell us about this.
Speaker 12 (21:26):
This is a one point five billion dollar project, A
lot of money here in an investment for this community.
Speaker 13 (21:31):
What does it mean for the San Gabriel Valley.
Speaker 5 (21:34):
WHOA or crime.
Speaker 15 (21:37):
Because this is key on time and on budget, but
really exciting connections for the residents out here. So we've
got four news stations.
Speaker 1 (21:45):
We've got that'd be great if the guy said, what
is it going to do for homelessness and crime in
the area, and she's like, Oh, it's gonna be great.
It's gonna go through the roof on both both those areas.
Speaker 14 (21:56):
That the motil and by the way, is right at
the fairgrounds. Oh it is, so imagine what that's going
to do for the for the Pomona Fair La County
Fair come springtime.
Speaker 1 (22:04):
That's beautiful. Yeah, you know you can slide in there
and you know, go to the fair and get ropped
or something.
Speaker 15 (22:10):
There's Sandy Miss the Laverne Fairplex, and then here at Pomona.
Speaker 13 (22:14):
So really good.
Speaker 1 (22:15):
I'm gonna do that. Maybe not this weekend because I
got plans, but I'm going to get on in Long
Beach and go all the way to Pomona. I'm gonna
do the whole run, the whole thing.
Speaker 2 (22:23):
I think it sounds like I don't you want to
do it. I'd considered you, I can't you want to
do it this week now. I can't do this. I
can't do it this weekend.
Speaker 14 (22:30):
Jed and I did it a couple months ago where
we took one end to the other and then back again.
Really it takes a minute, and you go through some
pretty hairy areas.
Speaker 2 (22:38):
Yeah.
Speaker 14 (22:39):
So so goes all the way to Long Beach. Yeah,
and what did you do when Long Beach hung out
head lunch? When her daughter goes to cal State Long Beach. Oh,
that's great, Samantha go. So we met her there and
then we got back, spent a couple of hours walking
around Long Beach on the beach stand and stuff, and
then got back on and came back home.
Speaker 1 (22:53):
Long Beach is beautiful. I don't think I think it's
like the best kept secret.
Speaker 2 (22:57):
Cardi B is coming to Long Beach to promote her
album too. Maybe.
Speaker 1 (23:00):
Do you think she'll be on the A train.
Speaker 2 (23:02):
I doubt she's taking the train there.
Speaker 1 (23:04):
Do you think she knows where the A training? Don't
probably show Longly.
Speaker 14 (23:08):
She's doing a great job of revitalizing that city little
by little.
Speaker 1 (23:11):
That's great. Yeah, Yeah, Pine Street down there, it's one
of the fair places. Tank I enjoyed.
Speaker 15 (23:15):
Connection for the residents that are out here in this area.
We're excited about it. These stations out here are also
serviced by Foothill Transit so there's local bus service that
connects to these routes, and then there's even metro link
out here as well. So for those who live out
here in San Gabriel Valley, they got to going on
spending their time on the two, ten and the ten.
(23:36):
Now they can go metro and get downtown in less
than an hour fifty eight minute ride and you'll be
at Union Station.
Speaker 1 (23:43):
Okay, that's a good deal. Fifty eight minutes from Pomona
and all the way to downtown. If you're driving, it
probably takes you longer than that a daily basis, So
get on the train and enjoy that.
Speaker 13 (23:55):
We're supposed to wrap up here.
Speaker 12 (23:56):
But I have one more question about the twenty eight
by eight and getting folks to the Olympics.
Speaker 13 (24:01):
There's gonna be some games out here. Tell me about
that really quick. Yeah, it's really cool.
Speaker 1 (24:05):
So too early for that.
Speaker 4 (24:07):
You're listening to Tim Conway Junior on DEMYA from KFI
AM six forty.
Speaker 1 (24:12):
Maybe you're in the car right now, you're going to
Dodgers Stadium. You got to try to get their early.
I think first pitches at seven to ten. It most
likely would be probably closer to seven thirty because Clayton
Kershaw will be taking the mound and he will have
a very long standing ovation that the umpire will have
to probably or out of just courtesy to Clayton Kershaw
(24:33):
and the Dodgers probably stop the game or postpone it
because you're going to see you know, whoever's there at
You know, there's fifty six thousand seats. I imagine thirty
five thousand people will be there early, and there'll be
a very long, very prolonged standing ovation for Clayton Kershaw
when he takes the mound at ten after seven. It's
going to be a huge night at Dodgers Stadium. So
(24:56):
try to get there early. Angel Martinez, are you with us?
Angel Martinez?
Speaker 5 (25:00):
I am Tim Conway too, Thank you.
Speaker 1 (25:02):
What does that look like around Dodgers Stadium traffic wise?
So the ten five, one oh one, That whole area
in downtown LA.
Speaker 5 (25:14):
It's loaded, Oh no.
Speaker 11 (25:16):
Loaded, the two southbounds backing up all the way from
the one thirty four.
Speaker 1 (25:21):
Why why wait to southbound to get onto the five
is already the one thirty four? Yes, oh that sucks.
Speaker 11 (25:29):
Yeah, and burbank the southbound side of the five that's
loading up all the way from Empire cropping into Illsian Park.
Speaker 1 (25:37):
It's not God and people left too late. It's already
five p fifty five. Everyone's pissed, they're panicking. They're like,
FU Conway, I'm gonna make it. F you, F you all,
your family, your sisters, your brothers. Never thought your dad
was funny. F Carobernet, F Ficky Lawrence, extensively doorf on
(25:58):
golf and know I never enjoyed the Apple Dumpling gang
at fall sounds like a lots coming up and boiling up.
Speaker 2 (26:05):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (26:05):
Yeah, So try to get there and try to get
in your seat before seven to ten. You get stuff
a little over an hour, about an hour and fifteen
minutes to get in your seat and watch Clayton Kershaw
his last regular season game. Now here's the downside. I
have Spectrum Vision at home, Spectrum cable because I like
watching the Dodgers. This is going to be the first
(26:28):
game in a long time that's not going to be
on Spectrum. It'll be on Apple TV. And I don't
know how to find that. I'm too old to look
for that. You can find it, I can't find it.
I want to be I want it on my TV,
and I want to sit in my chair where I
watch it and drink my drinks and watch my TV.
And I can't put that together, so I'll just miss
this one.
Speaker 2 (26:47):
Who cares?
Speaker 1 (26:48):
Right, But tonight is a big night at Dodger Stadium
and you'll remember you you remember being there. Unfortunately, you
will not be able to save the ticket stub like
you used to in the old days. Oh wait, you there, Kates,
Can you come on for a second talk about the Dodger.
Speaker 2 (27:02):
We have a question about the Dodgers. Kates.
Speaker 1 (27:04):
What time do you have to go on? Are you
going to how many minutes? Four minutes? Okay, yeah, us
real quickly, what do you know about tonight? It's gonna
be packed, it's gonna be jammed, or they get delayed
the start.
Speaker 16 (27:13):
They're not going to delay the start. They open the
parking lot up early so people can get to their
seats early, so you can get there by first pitch
at seven to ten in honor Clayton Kershaw on his
final home start.
Speaker 1 (27:24):
You don't think they'll they'll stop the game or delayed
till seven twenty seventh.
Speaker 16 (27:28):
No, there's no delay because Clayton Kershaw will never allow
that to happen.
Speaker 1 (27:31):
He is mister on time.
Speaker 16 (27:33):
He starts his pregame at a certain time, is warm up,
Everything is all done at a certain time leading up
to first pitch to seven ten. He'll be the first
guy on the field that's seven oh eight warming up
for a seven to ten first pitch.
Speaker 9 (27:44):
Right.
Speaker 1 (27:44):
And then let's say he goes seven innings and they
pull him standing ovation.
Speaker 16 (27:48):
He's gonna get a standing ovation after the first, after
every strikeout, and then every half inning that he comes out,
he's gonna get a standing ovation.
Speaker 1 (27:56):
Okay, are you nervous that it'll be seven to nothing
giants after one? Extremely nervous. So that's gonna be that.
Speaker 2 (28:03):
Because this is can teeter awkward.
Speaker 16 (28:04):
This can teeter either way, right, this could be like
two thirds of an inning, Hey, I missed it, I'm
still parking. Or this could be like, wow, I'll never
forget where I was. By the way, nineteen ninety three,
September of that year, I saw Nolan Ryan pitch his
last game at the Big A and Anaheim when the
Rangers were in town to take on the Angels. Now
I'll be out there tonight after the pregame show to
watch Clayton Kersh on his finals.
Speaker 1 (28:23):
Sorry, but you better leave quickly because there's traffic all
the way to Empire Center on the five South.
Speaker 16 (28:29):
I'm gonna cut through Traveltown, Riverside Drive right past Ricks,
Burritos and Timers and Burgers right there and just kind
of cut through, you know, Scott Road by a Lesion Park.
Speaker 1 (28:39):
A special Dodger mobile on our shot, you know. And
we just had Angel on. She said, you know the
two freeway, you're familiar with it. Yeah, yeah, okay, it's
backed up to the one thirty four. Oh boy, yeah,
that means that means fifty six thousand people are going
to Dodger Stadium. They all live in the valley. Should
have left earlier, yes, and you should leave earlier.
Speaker 2 (28:56):
Yeah, pre game. Yeah. The guy's got a job. You're
going to be on in ninety second.
Speaker 1 (29:01):
When do you go on in ninety second? Okay? Alright,
well listen a s Am'm so great. Kate's is great man.
He has more knowledge about sports, I think than anybody is.
Speaker 2 (29:12):
So impression.
Speaker 1 (29:13):
That guy is very impressive. Good dude, Tim Kates. All right,
you can listen to Tim Kates if you want. I guess, uh,
you know, I mean we Prefreman.
Speaker 2 (29:20):
Dodger talking men. Yeah, it stays in the family.
Speaker 1 (29:22):
You have done Kate, Clayton Kershaw. It's a big deal
on five to seventy am.
Speaker 2 (29:26):
Look at you sending people back over to the other station.
Speaker 1 (29:28):
I appreciate the fact that they think we're honest about it,
and they'll they'll come back. Don't come back, They'll wonder back.
