It's KFI AM six forty and you're listening to the
Conway Show on demand on the iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 2 (00:08):
This is the News.
Speaker 3 (00:12):
AFI Am sixty. It's Conway Show.
Speaker 1 (00:15):
Before we get into the news Whip, which is a
cool deal. I got a I ran into a friend
of mine today. He owns Philly's Best Again. Michael in Burbank,
great sandwich.
Speaker 3 (00:27):
I love it. I love it.
Speaker 1 (00:29):
He said he was driving out of Von's in Burbank
yesterday he heard that whole and b run and he
said he almost crashed his car. He's laughing so hard.
That's a huge compliment, Michael. So I appreciate it, buddy,
I appreciate it. I really do.
Speaker 3 (00:43):
All right, let's get into the news Whip.
Speaker 1 (00:45):
It is what we do every single day at five
oh five. We were doing it for almost a little
or fifteen years now, and it's it's basically these you know,
news stories that aren't really out there on the level
that they should be according to the people work here
at KFI. But before we do that, Angel Martinez, what's
(01:06):
going on with this jumper?
Speaker 4 (01:08):
So the jumper I just heard from a Conway it's
in Orange along the fifty five Freeway on the southbound
side at the Lincoln off ramp. It's where the fifty
five freeway goes over Lincoln. And I just heard from
a couple of Conway listeners that they've got the jump
bags out on the street of Lincoln. I'm watching on
(01:31):
the Coltrans cameras and there's a couple of people standing
on the side of the overpass, so they're ready for
anything that happens. They've shut down the fifty five southbound
completely from the ninety one freeway to just past Lincoln,
so you can't make the connection from the ninety one
to the south fifty five, and it's a huge mess.
(01:53):
Alternates fifty seven or even Testin Street, testin Avenue. You
could bail off on the ninety one at Teston Street.
Speaker 5 (02:02):
So there.
Speaker 3 (02:03):
Did you say that both north and south are closed?
Speaker 4 (02:06):
Just the southbound side northbound remains open?
Speaker 3 (02:10):
I heard that.
Speaker 1 (02:10):
Is there any video I heard online that he was
holding a bag that said Panda Express on it. He
just couldn't take it anymore. Is that true?
Speaker 4 (02:20):
That that is true? Something blah blah blah, kung pow chicken,
Oh my god, something something I've been there.
Speaker 5 (02:27):
I couldn't make it out.
Speaker 3 (02:28):
I've been there. I've been there. Man, that's a that's
a rough ride. All right.
Speaker 1 (02:31):
Hopefully the guy gets down and he's safe and he
you know, he has a better life.
Speaker 5 (02:39):
Definitely, definitely.
Speaker 1 (02:40):
All right, let's get into the NewsWhip here. Let's start
with cross what's going on?
Speaker 6 (02:45):
Crozier So, a TikTok video that's gotten hundreds of thousands
of views, glorifies the health benefits of water based cooking.
Video show simmering pots of veggies, noodles, and meats for
the caption that says, you started water based cooking and
now your skin is clear, your stomach is thriving, and
you recover from illness overnight. Other videos talk about how
water based cooking methods like blanching, steaming, or poaching can
(03:08):
help wind back Father Time like a gastronomic Benjamin Button
critics though I've countered with h this is every day
in Asian cultures that go back as far as five
thousand BC. And congratulations, gen Z, you've discovered soup.
Speaker 7 (03:25):
Give me a hard time.
Speaker 3 (03:26):
Yes, I was just gonna say that.
Speaker 1 (03:28):
Yeah, because you said your your your water and irvine
is really clean and you like cooking with it. Yeah, like,
what are you making? John water? What soup with a
side of water?
Speaker 7 (03:39):
But look, it's it's all the rage and it makes
you younger.
Speaker 3 (03:43):
Yeah. And what is it called again, croze? What's that?
Speaker 7 (03:45):
Water based?
Speaker 6 (03:46):
Water based at cooking? Yeah? Yeah, soup, soup? Yeah?
Speaker 1 (03:49):
Okay, all right, that's great. All right, belly, what's going on?
What's on your mind?
Speaker 8 (03:54):
Well, this is pretty exciting wild we'll determine that wild wolves.
Speaker 7 (03:59):
Are making a big comeback in California.
Speaker 8 (04:01):
Wow, see, it's pretty exciting the state's Department of Fish
and Wildlife just confirmed three new wolf packs, the Echy
Pack in eastern Tahima County, the tennis And Pack in
central Lasson County, and the Ashpan Pack in eastern.
Speaker 1 (04:16):
Weak names those names there should be man killers, you know,
maybe that's what that means, baby grabbers, you know, I mean,
give them some teeth. Okay, they're wolves.
Speaker 8 (04:27):
That brings California's total to ten known wolf packs. Confirmation
of the new packs is the latest step forward in
decades long effort to re establish wolves across the Western US.
Speaker 1 (04:37):
Have we put an overpass over the one on one farm?
Speaker 2 (04:40):
Yet?
Speaker 3 (04:41):
Is that just for the No, they're podcasts.
Speaker 7 (04:44):
They're allowed to use it.
Speaker 1 (04:45):
They are, okay, all right, so they're gonna come to
eat your dogs.
Speaker 7 (04:49):
Well, I hope not.
Speaker 3 (04:50):
That's what they do.
Speaker 7 (04:51):
That's what they don't want them to do.
Speaker 1 (04:53):
That I know, but that's what they were crazy enough,
and we're going to set that up. All right, Angel,
what's happening out there?
Speaker 4 (05:00):
So you know, the sun solar flare activity has been
strong lately. I saw that launching X class flares just
the other day on May twenty fourth, and several M
class flares on the twenty sixth of this month. Now,
these flares are so strong that they have the potential
to wipe out power grids. And because of this elevated
(05:21):
solar flare activity, NASA has officially launched Easy Electrojet Zeman
Imaging Explorer, which is a sixteen month mission designed to
study the auroral electrojets. It's the powerful electrical currents flowing
in Earth's upper atmosphere. Now, since most of us don't
(05:42):
have access to these images, you might be lucky enough
to see the Aurora borealist tonight. All you have to
do is be in a low light pollution area with
some altitude and the Noah forecast shows viewing as far
south as Wisconsin, along with nine other states.
Speaker 1 (06:03):
Okay, all right, that's a cool deal. All right, Well,
can we see it here or not?
Speaker 4 (06:08):
No, you gotta get up high enough like you might
be able to see it up at like you know,
Joshuba Tree or up in the San Bernardino Mountains. As
long as you've got a clear sky and no light pollution.
Speaker 1 (06:19):
Excellent, all right, batting cleanup step uche. Well we all
like some basket robins, right, sure, I love it. They
released a new flavor with this candy brand for its
first ever ice cream, June's Flavor of the Month, Trolley
Sour Blast. It's probably more for kids, the iconic candy
brand's first ever ice cream collaboration, available starting June one.
(06:42):
This frozen treat is inspired by the Sweet and Sour
candy Trolley Sour Bright Crawlers. It's a swirl of Trolley
lime flavored ice cream and orange flavored Sherbert finished with
lime flavored swirls.
Speaker 3 (06:56):
Man, oh man, sounds great? Something going on?
Speaker 1 (06:59):
Yeah, Petros, Petros, please, it's just ice cream?
Speaker 9 (07:07):
Man?
Speaker 3 (07:07):
What's going on with you?
Speaker 1 (07:09):
That is cool? I like bask and Robins. I've been
going there my entire life. My mom used to take
us there after kindergarten. I went to Louisville High School
kindergarten because that's I know, it's an all girls school,
but by they didn't know what sex that was until
like third grade, so I'd got.
Speaker 3 (07:27):
To think in there.
Speaker 7 (07:27):
Man.
Speaker 1 (07:29):
Yes, I'm not proud of it, but I so. My
mom used to pick me up there and we'd go
to bask and Robbins. I remember I always got two
scoops of ice cream, chocolate chip and chocolate min That was.
Speaker 7 (07:40):
My Chocolateman's my favorite.
Speaker 1 (07:45):
Yeah, that's my dish. I actually really enjoyed.
Speaker 5 (07:48):
That sounds good.
Speaker 3 (07:49):
Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes yes.
Speaker 1 (07:51):
And Petros loved it as well, didn't you be? It
sounds like a pirate keep storming the beaches. He's a
parrot on his shoulders.
Speaker 3 (08:11):
All right, that is in great news Web.
Speaker 1 (08:14):
We'llcome back and talk more about the jumper on the
fifty five freeway.
Speaker 3 (08:19):
It's a mess out there.
Speaker 2 (08:21):
You're listening to Tim Conway Junior on demand from KFI
AM six forty.
Speaker 3 (08:27):
It is The Conway Show.
Speaker 1 (08:29):
Welcome everybody, Welcome, Welcome, Welcome, and let's get right to
the fifty five and find out what's going on with
this jumper angel, what's happening out there.
Speaker 4 (08:40):
So all lanes on the fifty five southbound are closed
from the ninety one to Lincoln because of this jumper.
Speaker 3 (08:48):
And he's not a jumper yet, right.
Speaker 4 (08:50):
Not yet, okay, but they are on the side of
the overpass, the overpass from the fifty five that goes
over the street of Lincoln.
Speaker 5 (08:58):
From what.
Speaker 3 (09:00):
We eaten, Oh, a lot, I guess, is the answer.
Speaker 4 (09:05):
Hunh, Yeah, a lot, A whole lot to.
Speaker 1 (09:12):
Those bowl balls from Trader Joe's or whatever those things are.
Speaker 4 (09:16):
Yeah, yeah, there's froze balls. I got the peanut butter
and jelly ones. They're good, like, yeah, the peanut butter
and jelly covered with I don't know, some date stuff
and no, that sounds awesome. I guess you could freeze
them though, but these aren't frozen.
Speaker 3 (09:37):
Perfect for radio.
Speaker 1 (09:38):
Load up on a lot of peanut butter before you
have mentioned the jumper.
Speaker 5 (09:43):
I like it. I'm gonna chase it down with some popcorn.
Speaker 1 (09:46):
Too, okay, all right, all right, little molasses and we're
off the races.
Speaker 8 (09:53):
I'm home.
Speaker 3 (09:56):
I think I got hell. I couldn sit and sleep
out there?
Speaker 4 (10:01):
Is it?
Speaker 3 (10:02):
What I hit and sleep out there?
Speaker 10 (10:04):
Oh?
Speaker 3 (10:04):
Sit and sleep out there? Okay? All right? So where
is this dude again? Lincoln and the fifty.
Speaker 4 (10:10):
Five southbound at Lincoln right at the Lincoln Overpass?
Speaker 1 (10:16):
Is that I'm looking at it right now? Is that
near on what's the exit here? North Ranch Road?
Speaker 4 (10:24):
Yeah, nol Ranch Road. On the east side of the
fifty five, it's nol Ranch. On the west side it's
Lincoln okay, just south of the ninety one freeway.
Speaker 1 (10:33):
Okay, so they closed some of these on and off
ramps as well.
Speaker 4 (10:36):
Then yeah, at you know, at on the southbound side
of the fifty five at nol Ranch they've shut that down.
Speaker 3 (10:45):
Oh my god?
Speaker 5 (10:47):
On or off there?
Speaker 3 (10:49):
Can you go shut thee though?
Speaker 1 (10:51):
You can get on southbound a Catella though, Yeah, yeah
you can.
Speaker 5 (10:54):
You can hop on down there, you can?
Speaker 4 (10:56):
You can't or what they also did was close the
connectors from the ninety one to the south fifty five.
Speaker 3 (11:03):
Oh my god, that's a mess.
Speaker 4 (11:05):
It is a huge mess. Like surface streets and everything
in the area. Just a nightmare right now. I was
giving testin Street as an alternate, but that is that's
just solid now.
Speaker 5 (11:15):
Orange Olive Road is solid, all right.
Speaker 1 (11:17):
So if you're going westbound in the ninety one and
you want to go southbound fifty five, you are screwed today.
Speaker 3 (11:22):
That's not happening.
Speaker 5 (11:24):
Yeah, it's not happening. Go to Kramer and go sell.
That's looking a lot better than testin right now.
Speaker 3 (11:29):
All right?
Speaker 1 (11:29):
Any word is the highway patrol be saying we're closed.
We're not closed, You ain't coming down.
Speaker 4 (11:38):
At their last update, which was about twenty minutes ago,
southbound lanes remained closed. I'm looking at the camera and
it looks like southbound they're letting the carpool lane through.
Speaker 5 (11:54):
Now, okay, that's a little bit of progress.
Speaker 4 (11:57):
Yeah, but there's still a lot of people standing over
the side of the road looking off of the overpass.
Speaker 1 (12:05):
There's a good interne out there off and my daughter
had cheer down there off Chapman East Chapman, just east
of the fifty five freeway. So if you can't get
on the fifty five fifty five north, even though it's open,
is backed up. Looks like all the way to even
past near I guess Lakewood or love Eleveda, Eleveda doing
(12:27):
the e Leveta.
Speaker 5 (12:29):
You what the Eleveda.
Speaker 3 (12:30):
East of Levetta, Levetta, Oh, Leveda. Yeah, doing the Levita.
Speaker 5 (12:39):
Is that like a deep cycle through that.
Speaker 1 (12:41):
I don't know what that is, but northbound fifty five,
I mean it goes all the way back to the
five freeway.
Speaker 3 (12:47):
It's screwed.
Speaker 5 (12:48):
Yeah, it's a it's a mess.
Speaker 4 (12:50):
But you do have one the carpooling open now on
the southbound side of the fifty five, So that's a.
Speaker 5 (12:55):
Little bit of progress.
Speaker 4 (12:56):
I was wondering what they were putting those orange cones
up for, but I guess that's that's why. Just letting
people through on that in the carpool lane.
Speaker 1 (13:03):
Yeah, so Bellio, you're gonna have traffic because everybody's gonna
pile onto that five to avoid.
Speaker 4 (13:08):
These should head out now, okay, Oh I should start
using that as an alternate in my next report.
Speaker 3 (13:14):
Everybody load up on the five souths.
Speaker 8 (13:16):
Yeah, and when you're like, you know, chewing down on
those peanut butter balls, I didn't like.
Speaker 5 (13:21):
I didn't, I didn't.
Speaker 7 (13:23):
I was very kind to you. Oh let's remember that,
so let's load up the two ten instead.
Speaker 1 (13:29):
I love that that that Bellios like euphemism or similar
is biting down? As you were biting down, well, I
like to use colorful language, you know, on the program,
as you were biting down, I heard you biting Angel.
Speaker 7 (13:49):
Tell us more about solar flares.
Speaker 1 (13:55):
I think, all right, we've got anyway. We'll keep an
eye on that. We'll keep and I on the on
their craziness. Trump pardoned a couple of people. I didn't
know who they were. My daughter knows who they are,
and I guess Bellio knows who knows who they are.
I think there's the only two people, but everybody else
doesn't know who these.
Speaker 11 (14:13):
People any moment. Todd and Julie Chris Lee stars of
the reality television show chrisly knows best.
Speaker 3 (14:18):
You know that show? Anybody?
Speaker 10 (14:20):
Chris?
Speaker 3 (14:21):
Is it good? It's whatever? People love it?
Speaker 11 (14:25):
Okay, Christly knows best. They're set to be released from
prison in what.
Speaker 3 (14:29):
Kind of show is it? It's reality. It's a reality show.
Speaker 1 (14:32):
And what's it's basically just about uh husband and wife
and their kids and all that stuff.
Speaker 3 (14:38):
But yeah, it's just what do they do for a living?
What's the business? I think steal? Guy? Well, they steal yeah, exactly, Okay.
Speaker 11 (14:44):
In an emotional phone call with the couple, President Trump
said he's pardoning them. The Justice Department said the couple
submitted false financial statements to get more than thirty million
dollars in personal loans to pay for luxury cars, designer clothes,
and he even more so. They were sentenced in twenty
twenty two. Todd received twelve years, while Julie received seven.
(15:07):
So I want to bring in the attorney for the Christlies, Alex.
Little Alex, thank you so much for making the time
to be here, especially on this busy day when they're
expected to be released. Let's talk about what's happening right now,
who's supposed to be released in any moment, And talk
about the moment you heard about your pardoning. What was
(15:27):
your reaction?
Speaker 3 (15:28):
Chure's a first.
Speaker 9 (15:29):
The President signed the pardons about an hour ago, and
so the process should happen pretty quickly for them to
be able to be released from the facilities.
Speaker 3 (15:36):
Julie, why did he pardon these people?
Speaker 1 (15:38):
Is he an executive executive producer on the show on
the Christlies?
Speaker 3 (15:42):
Did he get making some money?
Speaker 12 (15:43):
Oh?
Speaker 8 (15:43):
But I believe the daughter Savannah spoke at his She's
a big supporter of Trump and she spoke at his man.
Speaker 1 (15:52):
To get a pardon like that, to jack you out
of twelve years of prison.
Speaker 3 (15:56):
That's wild, man, that is wild.
Speaker 6 (15:58):
And they had been released.
Speaker 3 (16:00):
They're both released. Yes, they're gone.
Speaker 6 (16:01):
Yes, he was released from a minimum security prison in
Pensacola in Florida. She was released from hostility in Lexington, Kentucky.
Speaker 3 (16:08):
And is the show going on without them?
Speaker 6 (16:11):
I don't know if the show is continuing, but apparently
they keep saying, at least the daughter does that they've
had meetings for new shows.
Speaker 3 (16:16):
Wow.
Speaker 1 (16:17):
Man, Okay, maybe I'll look at that, and maybe is
the pardon going to be on the show?
Speaker 9 (16:21):
To be released from the facilities. Julius held a prison
in Lexington, Kentucky, and Todd's been held at a prison
in Pensacola, Florida. And so we're hoping this afternoon they
will be out out the doors and headed back home.
In terms of hearing.
Speaker 3 (16:33):
About this, it was great news.
Speaker 9 (16:34):
I mean, shortly after call of the President, I talked
to Savannah, we heard what happened. Obviously, very shortly after that,
the President of the White House published the video to
the web, so everybody got to watch the phone call,
and it was absolutely.
Speaker 11 (16:46):
Fantastic, I imagine for your clients and for you as
well since you've been part of this. But talk about
why they're getting pardoned. I think that's the million dollar question,
so to speak.
Speaker 3 (16:57):
Okay, welcome back.
Speaker 1 (16:57):
We'll figure out why they got pardoned, how they got pardoned,
and will the show go on?
Speaker 3 (17:04):
Is the show going on? And we'll continue with those two.
Speaker 1 (17:06):
People, the the you know, the the what are the
the Priestleys? Is that what they call Chris Julian Todd, Yes,
Julian Todd Christly. All right, the show must go on.
Speaker 2 (17:17):
I guess you're listening to Tim Conway Junior on demand
from KFI Am six.
Speaker 1 (17:26):
It looks like these reality stars Todd and Julie Christly
are getting out of prisoner or they've just left. We're
getting audio as we speak, and we'll have more on
this on how they got pardoned, why they got pardoned.
Speaker 3 (17:40):
But we're gathering audio and we'll have it for you asap.
Speaker 1 (17:43):
But first, we live in a car community and I
remember working over at kalas X and I lived in
walking distance of the radio station, so I didn't have
a car. And the general manager over there, guy named
Bob Morey, said Tim.
Speaker 3 (17:59):
The LA is a one place you need a car,
And I said, ah, maybe I should get a car.
Speaker 2 (18:04):
Whatever.
Speaker 1 (18:04):
But I have a million questions about cars. This is
car buying season. Maybe you're out there and you're gonna
buy a car, and I you know, you want to
know what's going on with the tariffs. You're gonna buy
an ev Are you gonna get something new? Are you
gonna get something cool? What's going on with the cars?
So I said, Bellio, please try to get somebody important
on to talk about this, and she did it. The
(18:26):
president of SoCal Chevy Dealers Association, Nick Kokuccio Cacuchouchulo.
Speaker 3 (18:37):
How you bub.
Speaker 10 (18:38):
We're doing great. Thank you for having us, buddy.
Speaker 3 (18:41):
I love this.
Speaker 1 (18:42):
Hey, So let me ask you a couple of questions
because I'm I'm puzzled. Every time I go to Walmart
in Burbank there are fifteen to twenty cars waiting for
those chargers and to charge up their electric vehicle. Are
they doing that because there are limited chargers around and
the infrastructure is not there, or is it just cheaper
(19:02):
to buy your electricity from Walmart?
Speaker 10 (19:05):
Well, there's a couple of things there. You know, infrastructure
is definitely an issue. But you know, as EV's continue
to grow in the market, we're just trying to catch
up and get as many charging stations as we can
to keep up with the demand. So yeah, there is
times tim where you'll see a line of evs trying
(19:25):
to charge and it's just because we're limited. Infrastructure is
definitely an issue. We're definitely on the right track. It's
just a matter of time, hopefully before that problem gets resolved.
Speaker 1 (19:35):
So right, and I look, I've given in now two
electric cars, Amanda. They take off. When you hit that accelerator,
it throws you back in the seat. If you're not
used to driving electric car, you got to be careful
the first couple of times you step into one.
Speaker 10 (19:50):
Absolutely, the power and torque on those vehicles are phenomenal.
I mean the amount of power behind them is that
zero to sixties really really the uh performing vehicles. So yeah, yeah,
if you're if you're used to gas and get into electric,
you definitely want to, uh you know, practice test drive
before you buy and make sure you're comfortable and enjoy
(20:11):
the ride.
Speaker 1 (20:12):
So and and have tariffs affected you guys, are most
of your cars still coming out of Detroit?
Speaker 10 (20:19):
Uh? You know what a good amount are you know,
we uh, we have vehicles coming from other you know,
parts of the world. Tariffs are uh, you know, are
we going to have the tariffs? Are they going to
kick in? They kind of get delayed. There's a lot
of uncertainty there.
Speaker 4 (20:34):
Uh.
Speaker 10 (20:34):
One thing that General Motors and Chevrolet has done a
really good, great job with though, tim is uh they've
had spectacular incentives. We have tons of product you know,
out out the you know, for the consumer, and there's
just a lot of great incentives right now. I mean
there's large rebates, you know, zero percent on select vehicles.
So Chevrolet really does a great job trying to accommodate
(20:56):
and you know and fill that and you know, we
want to make sure, but hey, it's a great deal.
Speaker 1 (21:00):
So with the incentives, has the Corvette come out with
an electric version yet?
Speaker 10 (21:06):
There is there's an E Ray Corvette that has been
out for a little over about a year now and
you know we have that the new body still it's
been out a few years. But yeah, that's a great vehicle.
Tons of performance. You know, obviously a Corvette already has
a lot of power, but once you add that, you know,
electric portion to it. It really gets up and goes.
Speaker 3 (21:26):
I heard it goes zero to sixty in zero seconds?
Is that true?
Speaker 10 (21:31):
Pretty close, it's pretty close to that. Yeah, what are
those run?
Speaker 3 (21:36):
Is that the five hundred thousand?
Speaker 10 (21:38):
No? No, Actually, Corvettes are for a supercar is pretty
reasonably reasonably priced, you know, Corvette starting around the seventy
thousand range, and then they can go up to a
they can go up to about one hundred and fifty
hundred and eighty one thousand dollars. Just a pan of options,
features and you know, stuff like that.
Speaker 1 (21:54):
All right, I always asked, I always like to ask
the president of of of any kind of dealership, in
your case, the Okal Chevy dealers, what do you drive
right now?
Speaker 10 (22:03):
I'm driving a Chevrolet Tahoe.
Speaker 3 (22:05):
I love Tahoes.
Speaker 10 (22:06):
Those are the best, great vehicle under the room. Yeah,
great gas miology. I love the Tago.
Speaker 3 (22:11):
My sister has one. It's not new.
Speaker 1 (22:13):
I think it was a twenty fifteen or twenty sixteen,
but it still seemed new to me. And man it is.
It's a huge car. We've got everything in it. And
all the people we took to the desert in the river,
everybody was comfortable and it has the most power. We
dragged a boat behind us from my father in law
and it was like towing nothing.
Speaker 3 (22:33):
I mean, the power is unbelievable in that Tahoe.
Speaker 10 (22:36):
Yeah, they with that vd V eight engine there, you know,
you really get a lot of performance, great for towing power,
just like the Silverado truck. So it's definitely, definitely a
great vehicle.
Speaker 1 (22:46):
And what have the twenty twenty sixes come out yet?
Speaker 10 (22:49):
Twenty twenty sixes are right around the corner. We should
be seeing them here shortly. So anything newly around probably
right around the end of summertime they'll start coming in.
Speaker 3 (22:58):
Anything new that we can look forward to.
Speaker 10 (23:00):
We have a new refresh with the Silverado, which will
have a new appearance package interior. The Corvette is going
through a new refresh where the interior is completely new
with some new interior colors exterior colors. The new Tahoe
Suburban is not far off. So yeah, there's a lot
of great stuff. The Equinox and EV Blazer we've had
(23:24):
out for a little bit now with the new EV Silverado,
so you know, those are fantastic looking vehicles. The technology
knowledgy on them is phenomenal.
Speaker 3 (23:32):
Is there an electric Tahoe yet?
Speaker 10 (23:34):
There is not yet, but Cadillac does have the electric Escalade,
which is very comparable to a Tahoe suburban.
Speaker 1 (23:43):
And when people when people come to your shop or
your a Mountain View, what percentage are still interested in gas?
What percentage are looking for electric?
Speaker 10 (23:53):
You know, it's I would say probably probably. Yet every
ten customers we get about three or four inquiring about EV's.
Speaker 3 (24:02):
Oh that's you. It's compared to ten years ago.
Speaker 10 (24:04):
Yes, it's a pretty good number. And plus we've also
installed a lot of charging stations at the dealership for
our customers. So you know, like earlier in the show,
people don't have to go to that Walmart weight. They
can come to the dealership if they're nearby, they can
charge their vehicle. There's no weight, and you know, it's
fantastic for the customer to have that flexibility.
Speaker 1 (24:26):
All right, where's the website where people can get a
suite what I call a sweet KFI deal.
Speaker 10 (24:31):
Well, they can go to Mtvchevy dot com or Mountainview
Chevrolet dot com. And we have all of our specials
on the home page of our website with all of
our great rebates incentives and service and parts specials as well.
Speaker 1 (24:46):
All Right, excellent, buddy. I really appreciate you coming on.
It was nice to see you at that Wango tango
the other night. Man, I can't believe how much vodka
you and I finished.
Speaker 10 (24:54):
Woof Yeah, great time. As always, I appreciate everything, and
for having me on the show.
Speaker 3 (25:00):
I appreciate it, man, thank you.
Speaker 10 (25:01):
Okay, and then a shout out to the kids. I
appreciate everything. Thanks Tim, Oh you got it?
Speaker 9 (25:05):
Wait?
Speaker 3 (25:05):
Wait your kids?
Speaker 10 (25:06):
Yeah? I have three kids.
Speaker 3 (25:07):
Oh, let's get wait, let's give them a proper mention.
What are their names?
Speaker 10 (25:12):
Uh, Nicolette, Courtney and Justin.
Speaker 1 (25:14):
All right, Courtney and Justin. Excellent, buddy, appreciate you coming on.
Speaker 10 (25:18):
Man, all right, thank you everything.
Speaker 3 (25:19):
Take care.
Speaker 1 (25:20):
VP of mountain View Chevy also president of SoCal Chevy
Dealers Association.
Speaker 3 (25:26):
Man, that guy's got it going on. That's how near
you Red Crows Mountain View?
Speaker 1 (25:29):
Yeah, man, I bought a car from them about six
years seven, eight years.
Speaker 3 (25:34):
Ago, got a sweet deal.
Speaker 1 (25:36):
I drove off without signing the papers and he's like, hey,
you just stole that vehicle, buddy. I'm like, oh, I'll
come back. And he goes, no, you got to come back.
Now you can't.
Speaker 3 (25:45):
You can't drive, it's not insured. And you just drove off.
Speaker 1 (25:47):
What's going on with you? And he got and we
we repaired our relationship. After that, I stole a car
from Mountainview. I felt like an idiot. All right, we're
live on KFI more now, Kroze, Well, come back, we'll
talk about those Chris Lei's and how they got out
out of a jail.
Speaker 2 (26:01):
You're listening to Tim Conway Junior on demand from KFI
Am sixty.
Speaker 3 (26:07):
It's Conway's show.
Speaker 1 (26:08):
The big story on the fifty five Freeway is this
jumpers southbound at Lincoln at the overpass there. Guys at
his wits end. Probably broke, has some personal problems. Maybe
your relationship blew up on him. Maybe he's psychologically, you know,
(26:28):
at his wits end, and he's he doesn't see any
way out. So he's standing on this overpass threatening to
jump angel.
Speaker 3 (26:36):
Is he still up there?
Speaker 5 (26:38):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (26:39):
They still have lanes blocked off. Let me look at
the camera, because.
Speaker 1 (26:43):
You look up and could have changed you. Look at
the camera, bro how's your camera?
Speaker 6 (26:49):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (26:50):
And they got the bag out there right?
Speaker 5 (26:52):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (26:53):
Well the bag I haven't seen the bag because the
bag is below the freeway on the street of Lincoln.
But I've heard from Conway listeners at they did have
that they do have the bag out, just waiting and
the person is still sitting right there on the on
the rail.
Speaker 1 (27:08):
This is second time this has happened last couple weeks.
Remember it happened in Burbank on a Friday, I think, yeah,
late on a Friday before Easter. I think it was
before East or something then, and or before Mother's Day,
one of those holidays. And now it's happening again. And
these arteries, you know, these freeways get clogged up. Anytime
(27:29):
one is shut down, all the other ones become really
really busy.
Speaker 4 (27:33):
It's really tough the surface streets. Well, Lincoln is closed
because they've got to close it underneath the fifty five freeway.
So that's just putting a ton of extra pressure on
not only the surrounding freeway system, but also all of
the surface streets in the area. It's a nightmare.
Speaker 1 (27:51):
All right, keep an eye on, of course, will you.
All right, there she goes Angel Martins. All right, Trump
has pardoned Todd and Julie Chris Lee, and they're going
back home. One was in Florida, the other one was
I don't know, in Kentucky, I think. But let's find
out what's going on with these reality show starts.
Speaker 13 (28:09):
Tonight, Donald Trump made it official, issuing a pardon of
reality TV stars Todd and Julie Chrisley, who were serving
prison sentences for tax evasion and bank fraud. Today, their
daughter thanking the President as she waited for her father's release.
Speaker 5 (28:25):
I'm just so grateful of that.
Speaker 3 (28:27):
I'm going to leave here with my dad.
Speaker 13 (28:29):
The couple served just over two years behind bars. Todd
was sentenced to twelve years.
Speaker 1 (28:33):
Julie seven man of these two, grateful that Trump became president.
If it was Joe Biden, there's no way that these
two would have been pardoned.
Speaker 3 (28:42):
There's no way.
Speaker 13 (28:43):
Just yesterday the President breaking the news he intended to
issue the pardon.
Speaker 3 (28:47):
In a call to their daughter, it's.
Speaker 9 (28:48):
A great thing because your parents are going to be
free and clean.
Speaker 13 (28:53):
For years, the Christlies portrayed themselves as self made real
estate tycoons on their show. Chrisly knows best showcasing a
life of luxury.
Speaker 3 (29:02):
Product is better than Gucci, She's.
Speaker 13 (29:04):
Better than I don't even know what product is what
federal prosecutors called the couple career swindlers who have made
a living by jumping from one fraud scheme to another,
saying they defrauded banks of more than thirty million dollars,
using the money on luxury cars, homes, and clothes. Daughter Savannah,
a Trump supporter, had lobbied for the pardon, suggesting in
(29:26):
a speech at the Republican National Convention that her parents
were targeted because of their politics and celebrity.
Speaker 11 (29:32):
Due to our public profile and conservative beliefs, they accused
my parents of fraud.
Speaker 13 (29:40):
In less than two months after, Trump met with Michigan's
Democratic governor Gretchen Whitmer at the White House. We're honored
to have Gretchen Whitmer from the great state of Michigan.
She's really done an excellent job, very good person.
Speaker 3 (29:52):
Trump said.
Speaker 13 (29:52):
Today is considering pardoning a group of men in connection
with a plot to kidnap Whitmer back in twenty twenty.
The two alleged ring leaders of the plot are now
serving sentences of sixteen and nineteen years in prison. Today,
Trump suggested they were not guilty. It looked to me
like somewhat of a railroad job. I'll be honest with you.
It looked to me like some people said some stupid things.
(30:14):
You know, they were drinking, and I think they said
stupid things.
Speaker 3 (30:17):
But I'll take a look at that.
Speaker 13 (30:19):
Last month, Trump pardoned Paul Walzach, a nursing home executive
convicted of cheating on his taxes, erasing an.
Speaker 1 (30:25):
Eighteen everybody's getting a pardon. I'd like to get a pardon.
I haven't done anything yet, but I like to get
a preemptive pardon.
Speaker 13 (30:31):
Prison sentence, and a four point four million dollar penalty.
The New York Times reporting the pardon came three weeks
after his mother attended a one million dollar per person
fundraiser at mar A Lago.
Speaker 1 (30:43):
Ah, hey, BELLYO, do you think I can get a
pardon for the audio that we played yesterday?
Speaker 4 (30:52):
Maybe?
Speaker 3 (30:52):
I think I'm gonna need one to need one.
Speaker 1 (30:55):
Yeah, all right, So let's bring in Jonathan Carly's live
in Washington.
Speaker 3 (30:58):
John a string of pardons here, and President Trump.
Speaker 8 (31:00):
Is there a through line here, a common thread to
these pardons?
Speaker 9 (31:03):
Well?
Speaker 13 (31:03):
Well, first of all, David Donald Trump is using his
pardon power much earlier and much more broadly than it is.
First time, and what we are seeing in many of
these pardons is people that have clear political connections or
are political supporters of Donald Trump. For instance, just today,
the White House announced pardons for former Republican Congressman from
(31:25):
New York Michael Grimm and former Republican Governor of Connecticut
John Rowland. Both have been convicted of tax fraud and
other federal crimes.
Speaker 1 (31:33):
All right, so the priestles are out or Chris Ly's,
I should say, and Chris Ly's yeah, yeah, Chris l'es yes, yes, yes, yes, yes.
And Todd and Julie chris Ly they're on their way home.
This is moments ago on inside editions.
Speaker 7 (31:48):
They're heading home.
Speaker 12 (31:49):
Big reaction today to the news that President Trump was
pardoning Todd and Julie Chrisly, the stars of the reality
show Chrisly Knows Best. The couple has been behind bars
for two years after being convicted of defrauding banks of
tens of millions of dollars.
Speaker 1 (32:04):
Do you think that when he got a pardon, do
you think he called President trumme goo hey?
Speaker 3 (32:10):
My wife was the real ring leader there. She's guilty
as hell.
Speaker 1 (32:13):
I think she should probably ride out her twelve years
in prison. If you could just give me one, I
could slide back there with the dough. I have my
kids and she should really serve out her twelve years.
You think that happened, You think it happened.
Speaker 12 (32:28):
Now after their lawyers and family worked with the White House,
the Grizzlies, they're being set free.
Speaker 14 (32:33):
The Chrislies are free, but their pardon is sparking outrage today.
Speaker 1 (32:37):
Thank you, President Trump, thank you, thank you, thank you,
thank you.
Speaker 14 (32:41):
The stunning news was applauded by their daughter Savannah.
Speaker 5 (32:44):
I still don't believe it's real.
Speaker 3 (32:46):
I'm freaking out, she says.
Speaker 14 (32:48):
She got the call from Trump out of the blue
while shopping at her local Sam's Club.
Speaker 3 (32:52):
The White House posted this video.
Speaker 14 (32:54):
Of the moment from the Oval Office.
Speaker 2 (32:56):
Your parents are going to be free and clean.
Speaker 8 (32:58):
To give them my regards and wish them a good life.
Speaker 14 (33:05):
The chris Le's found fame as reality stars enjoying a
lavish lifestyle in Georgia.
Speaker 1 (33:10):
It happens that quickly when the pardon is signed, I
mean you're out. You get out of jail, like in
ten minutes. I always thought it'd signed, And then they
got to do paperwork and administrative work and it takes
you like a week or two or a couple of
months to get out, But man, that is a powerful signature.
You've signed that piece of paper, and ten minutes later
they're walking out on long sentences, too, very long sentences.
Speaker 3 (33:33):
Wow.
Speaker 1 (33:34):
All right, we're keeping an eye on the possible jumper,
not jumper yet, but a guy who's not thrilled with
his life on the fifty five freeway at Lincoln and
that is making Orange County traffic a nightmare today and
we'll continue to keep an eye on that.
Speaker 3 (33:49):
We're live on KFI AM six forty.
