Speaker 1 (00:00):
It's KFI Am six and you're listening to the Conway
Show on demand on the iHeartRadio app. Water has been
restored to the North Valley that was out since Tuesday
night of last week, so nights to get water back.
Speaker 2 (00:15):
You do have to boil it though. You've got to
boil your water or else you could go down. So
all right, let's get into we'll get into those stories.
Speaker 1 (00:28):
But first Steph Fush, whose life was saved last Thursday
by good smartans, good heroes, and we had two of
them on the four o'clock hours. So if you missed
any part of that, go download the podcast. And so
we're gonna play. This is from Steph Fush himself, a
message from the hospital where he currently is, hoping that
(00:53):
he gets full recovery of his left arm.
Speaker 2 (00:56):
That's going to be a long road ahead of him,
but they've got some doctors there at UCLA.
Speaker 1 (01:02):
Right here he is Steph Fush, thanking everybody for being
so concerned about him after his accident.
Speaker 3 (01:08):
Hey guys, this is Stephan the Foosh. I'm doing a
lot better. It's been a rough couple of days and
there's gonna be a rough couple more days ahead. Of me,
but I'm healing really well and they're taking real good
care of me. I miss you all, and I can't
begin to thank you enough for all the donations, all
the love, all the prayers. It's been just unbelievably humbling,
(01:34):
and I can't wait to get back in the studio
and start, you know, parting with you all again.
Speaker 2 (01:39):
All right, love you guys. There he goes Steph fush
and hopefully he's back soon. You know, it's gonna be
a I think, a long road though, I bet.
Speaker 1 (01:48):
I imagine it's probably a month or so out, maybe more,
maybe two months before we see him again.
Speaker 2 (01:53):
But hey, just him walking through.
Speaker 1 (01:55):
That door again will be a miracle, you know, when
he comes back. The Woody Show is on every morning
on Alt ninety eight point seven. Stephus is a huge,
huge Woody fan, huge and what he donated one thousand
dollars to the gofundname along with John Colebel, and they
talked about it on his show on The Woody Show.
(02:18):
They talked about Steph fuche and that's his favorite show.
And I know he's listening now, so let's play it
The Woody Show, lo Kel News and it's.
Speaker 2 (02:26):
Get a headline cluttered home here in the state of California.
Speaker 4 (02:29):
Well, this has been all over the news the past
few days. One of our colleagues and a big fan
of The Woody Show was involved in a terrible car
crash late last week. He goes by Steffuch. His real
name is Stefan Cabezas. He works as a board up
for Tim Conway Junior. He also works with Mo Kelly
down at our sister station KFI. Turns out Stuffush did
not show up for work. Everybody was wondering where he was.
(02:51):
And what happened was he was on his way to
work on the one to oh five. Somebody cut him
off and the sudden maneuver caused him to crash into
a guard rail and then his car are completely flipped
and caught fire. Luckily, some good Samaritans dragged him out
of the burning car. Somebody put a tourniquet on his arm,
and that's all being credited with saving his life.
Speaker 5 (03:09):
Did they find the two people that helped him out,
because I know Tim was posting a lot of stuff.
Speaker 2 (03:13):
Tim Connor Jr.
Speaker 5 (03:14):
Was posting a lot of stuff like we were looking
to identify these guys because they're in the video.
Speaker 2 (03:17):
You could see a video of them and their face
and everything else. Right, it's three men who pull up.
We would love to find who they are.
Speaker 6 (03:24):
Didn't They also say like his window is down, so
his arm was like literally crushed.
Speaker 2 (03:27):
It was a really bad.
Speaker 4 (03:28):
A woman put a tourniquet on his arm, and police
say he wouldn't have survived if he hadn't been dragged
in the car and had his arm wrapped up. So
now Stiffush has had surgeries at Harbor UCLA Medical Center.
His family and friends are relieved that he survived, and
there's also a go fundme set up where you can
help with medical expenses.
Speaker 2 (03:45):
He's a big FANI what show too, Oh yeah, exactly GoFundMe.
Speaker 4 (03:49):
If you search for the fouch f o O s
h you'll find.
Speaker 2 (03:53):
That gofund me there. That's great man, what a he
and everybody talking about Steph Fush That is terrific. Also
Petro some money, We're we're talking about it as well.
Matt Buddy Smith is a little pissed that I've sort
of hijacked the hot dog Day. Hot Dog Day was his,
(04:15):
you know, he brought in a hot dog steamer twice
a year, and everybody in sales and management got together
at five seventy am and then I said, oh, let's.
Speaker 1 (04:27):
Steal that, and we did. That's all radio is, yeah, right,
just stealing crap from each other. Yeah, you know, if
you heard it here, you've not If you heard anything
on the show, that means I've heard it somewhere else.
Speaker 2 (04:41):
Yeah, it ain't the first time anybody's heard it, that's right,
for sure. But Petro some Money talked about Steph Fush
on their program, and so here.
Speaker 6 (04:55):
It is, my god anyway, any other green Vince, I mean.
Speaker 2 (05:00):
No, And I appreciate your as someone who worked in
a restaurant and around appliances, I believe your solution has worked,
so thank you. Yeah, I unplugged it for a few minutes.
I just plugged it back in, and it does feel
as though it is blowing some cold are here.
Speaker 6 (05:15):
I have a nice fridge down here, Matt, you know,
and guess who leaves it open from time to time.
Speaker 2 (05:20):
I'm going to go with your son, my great son,
but we'll see. I think we got a lot of dishes.
Maybe he just cracked the door just to be a jerk.
Is this the whole show, belly. No, he just cracked
(05:41):
the door open to be a jerk.
Speaker 6 (05:42):
We've got a lot of dishes to watch them. So
the other thing we should say is this, uh, that
Friday Night was kind of a gnarly deal and we
had some fun about it on the air because Tim
Conway lost his engineer, his production engineer, shouldn't find him,
couldn't find Staffouche. And I don't think anybody's told this
(06:04):
because he's been on TV in the radio, but he's
too humble of a guy to actually say this. And
Tim Conway on Friday Night was so worried about that
guy Steffouche that and rightfully so he went to his
apartment in Hawthorne and was getting lost in different neighborhoods.
(06:26):
He called me and said, big dumb, there's people on
the street playing loud music. Dig dug, and he wus do.
Speaker 1 (06:39):
I remember hearing this part of the story from this
white guy from Burbanks crawling around Hawthorne with the flashlight.
Speaker 6 (06:46):
Hey guys, how are you?
Speaker 2 (06:48):
Then?
Speaker 1 (06:49):
I've been playing loud music, people were playing news and
down the street on the corner. Who's playing music on
the street?
Speaker 6 (06:56):
Do wop?
Speaker 2 (06:56):
I'm here from the corners are there around a bucket.
Speaker 6 (06:58):
Of fire Stephan's door, and uh the window was open
and the TV was on and he wasn't coming to
the door, and uh he really really felt and feared
the worst and got to the police. Uh, got to
do a welfare check, got into the apartment, got the
(07:19):
police involved this whole time. Uh, Stefusia's mother and father
not able to get a hold of them all day,
very very worried. Uh. Coincidentally, just the day before was.
Speaker 2 (07:32):
Hot Dog Day and not around.
Speaker 6 (07:37):
Well and no, and then they it was a.
Speaker 2 (07:39):
Double up hot dog Day.
Speaker 6 (07:41):
So it seems like they've really taken the hot dog
not acceptable, like Transformers took the Gobot's chain or hot
Dog Day chain. Anyway we could be. It's no longer special.
Now it's on Channel five. It's it's it's totally.
Speaker 7 (08:00):
It's now on Channel five. It's no longer special. Now
it's on Channel five. It's it's it's totally. It's totally
intertwined with the steffuh store. Now it's tough for us. Yeah,
I mean, here's no doubt, it's.
Speaker 2 (08:15):
Time we're done.
Speaker 6 (08:17):
I do but Steffush it turned out once the cops
got involved. Was it a terrible car accident?
Speaker 1 (08:24):
Okay, we'll continue playing this weekend back. This is great
Petros and money talking about Steph Fush and his crazy
accident last week.
Speaker 8 (08:31):
You're listening to Tim Conway Junior on demand from KFI
AM sixty.
Speaker 2 (08:37):
Steph Fush is the big story here at KF five.
Speaker 1 (08:40):
They had the go fundmeme which raised a ton of money,
and he's going to need it because he's got a long,
long road in front of him. This young man and
everyone who donated, we can't thank you enough.
Speaker 2 (08:55):
I'm gonna check out the the site here. Let me see,
oh wow, appear right on the homepage for Steph Oush
right now. It's at ninety six, three hundred and sixty
six dollars.
Speaker 6 (09:10):
Man, oh man.
Speaker 1 (09:12):
If I was him again, the first ten grand, We'll
go to those people who saved my life.
Speaker 2 (09:18):
I'd find out what they wanted.
Speaker 1 (09:19):
Maybe set up a scholarship for that young daughter of
one of those lads. Maybe somebody wants electric bike, maybe
somebody's never been to Hawaii before. I'd start moving those
the first ten thousand shell shillings around and see what
we can do. My buddy said, it was his idea,
(09:42):
a gut named Steve. He said, he goes, I'd take
the first ten thousand big ones and spend it on
those people who saved his life. And I said, I
think you're my only friend who calls a dollar a
big one some Allians, because I'd take the first ten
thousand big ones. You call it the dollar a big one.
Kind of life you got going on, it's going on
(10:03):
with you. But here's Petro some money talking about Steph
Fush and they seem seem to be angry and out
of sorts with us hijacking Hot Dog Day and then
Steph and and I think I got that order right.
(10:24):
And by the way, I think I got the right
order because they did establish Hot Dog Day and we
hijacked it. Because the one way Belly you'll you'll know,
you'll confirm this. We've been trying to get through to
Steph fuj to be more you know, more open and
you know, more involved in the show. And we couldn't
(10:47):
get him to do anything with bits or you know,
callings or reports or anything.
Speaker 2 (10:54):
We got him to open up with hot dogs.
Speaker 1 (10:59):
That was the he was the secret eleven dogs, eleven
cheap costco dogs and he was on fire. He had
eleven hot dogs on Hot Dog Day. Wasn't a contest,
wasn't a challenge, wasn't a dare casually? Eight eleven hot dogs?
Speaker 2 (11:15):
Casually? He was unreal? Did you received anhing like that?
All right, here's a petrol of money talking about Steph Fush.
Speaker 6 (11:24):
But Steffush, it turned out, once the cops got involved,
was in a terrible car accident and a flaming car
and the whole terrible deal and was pulled to safety
a woman put a tourniquet on his arm. You've seen
the story now from then on, and what is the
takeaway from it? Tim Conway on local News going dig dog.
(11:44):
You know, if a guy miss his hot dog Day,
dig dog, you know something's wrong.
Speaker 2 (11:49):
Day is officially left our airport and landed at one.
Speaker 9 (11:54):
Adjacent here's the anger over hot dog Day. Well, I
don't think that's I mean true, it's true. I mean, look,
once this Steffush thing calms down, I.
Speaker 2 (12:04):
Mean Tim Conway's making not to distract from the most
important part of the story, and that is that Steffush
was saved by three good Samaritans, a tourniquit, two guys
pulled him out of a fiery wrecked a woman applied
the tournique's literally saved his life. He had another surgery today.
There's a GoFundMe by the way, because.
Speaker 6 (12:20):
Obviously his armis jack.
Speaker 2 (12:22):
Yeah, he needs he's gonna need a lot of help
with these medical bills. Not to take away from that,
but Tim Conway's now chopping his own down onions, which
Tim Kate's put in our face. Tim Conway is making
Rice Crispy treats for people. Yeah, he's baking.
Speaker 6 (12:37):
Before you think about it, you know, he does that
show and then he turns around and does all this
stuff for everybody. And then he's in the car going
around like Batman as a vigilante finding Staffu.
Speaker 2 (12:50):
And which, by the way, I completely thought it would
be a drive by and we'd find him and then
I could go to the Hustler Casino, which is down
the street.
Speaker 6 (12:59):
That was the plan originally, making himself known around Hawthorn
to locate the young man being done.
Speaker 2 (13:05):
You've seen the foosh.
Speaker 6 (13:07):
He's lapping us. You know, it's not even close. And
and and but I'm saying we could counter with our
own hot dog day cut up some martisanal pickles who
cut up our own onions. You hear that, belly, get
on it, bring some various mustards.
Speaker 2 (13:24):
You know, are you talking going high end?
Speaker 6 (13:27):
I'm talking.
Speaker 2 (13:28):
You know you're talking. I'm going high end, that's what
you're saying.
Speaker 6 (13:30):
Well, I don't know what kind of hot dogs is
Conway servant? He does, he doesn't have the Hoffey hook
up like this.
Speaker 2 (13:35):
And you know Haffy's got those high end hot dogs.
He's actually right high end hot dogs. Belly, let's get
on this right and we could.
Speaker 6 (13:42):
Even I mean, we can even boil and steam some susagion.
Speaker 2 (13:46):
You talk, you're talking like we're going Brioche buns like
we're going.
Speaker 6 (13:50):
I mean, I don't know. I mean what I'm saying, if.
Speaker 1 (13:53):
They did that, they would be stealing from Angel Martinez.
Speaker 2 (13:56):
So it's a tennis match. It's tennis. You're talking like
we're going brioche buns that Angel Broad, Like we're going
in sausage, that Angel Broad.
Speaker 6 (14:05):
I mean, I don't know.
Speaker 2 (14:06):
I mean, I steal all our.
Speaker 1 (14:07):
Ideas over there at five seventy radio going on with
those guys.
Speaker 2 (14:12):
What's up with those two going on with these guys?
Speaker 6 (14:15):
I mean I don't know. I mean, what I'm saying
is we could counter with our own.
Speaker 2 (14:20):
We ain't getting them woke dogs from the Whole Foods
that'll say that no woke dogs.
Speaker 6 (14:23):
No, But we could still counter with our own hot
dog day. We don't just have to curl up and
die like the gobots. You know. Yeah, once the foosh
gets out of the hospital and he's got his sling
on his arm and his pillow.
Speaker 2 (14:39):
We can't allow this to devolve into a competition like
it happened with the line. Because Tim Comway lost his mind. Yeah,
he lost his mind, and you know.
Speaker 6 (14:48):
What, And I don't want it to end up like
the line where in the end we look back and
we're all embarrassed.
Speaker 2 (14:54):
That's what I mean. We're all idiots.
Speaker 6 (14:56):
We all feel stupid.
Speaker 2 (14:58):
That's right.
Speaker 6 (14:59):
That's what they wanted. They had something terrible to sell,
and they made us go after each other like children
to sell it.
Speaker 5 (15:06):
I guess two things Conway does use bottled water only
to steam the hot talks.
Speaker 2 (15:13):
We could do that. That's some above and beyond. Maybe
we use seven up see what happens. And two I
was thinking about this and I actually brought this up.
Speaker 5 (15:20):
I was talking about this with my wife over the weekend,
and she said, what if you got into an accident
or something happened to you or Ronnie, how quickly would
petros are mad like drive to Burbank to try to
find you.
Speaker 1 (15:33):
That's a great question. Tim Kates is their producer. If
he got into a wreck in Burbank, would these guys
come out of you know, the South Bay and Sam
Pedro to look for Tim Kates, Let me guess.
Speaker 5 (15:49):
And would they like Conway drove to the South Bays.
Speaker 2 (15:52):
Well, in our defense, you and Ronnie each have significant
others and they would be on top of it immediately.
Speaker 6 (16:00):
Whereas Stefus didn't have anybody. His emergency number was his number.
Speaker 2 (16:05):
His emergency number is number was Wienerschnitzel.
Speaker 6 (16:12):
So there's that. So they tried to call his emergency
number and hey, it's Steffus show about there, So.
Speaker 2 (16:17):
I think that's would we be concerned?
Speaker 6 (16:20):
Of course?
Speaker 2 (16:21):
Yeah, I ready to start the show on Tim Kates
is in air. We're going to reach out to the wife.
Speaker 6 (16:25):
If I was on the phone with Tim Kates and
he was like, hey, I'm on all of and like
I drive over there to see what happened, you know.
But at the same time, you know, Steffusche was was
missing because there was nobody, you know, to find him,
and and Conway took it upon himself, as Steffuche's radio father,
(16:49):
to look after him. And I saw a text from
Steffuchi's mother to Sharon which was effusive with praise and
grots gratitude, saying thank you for finding my son and
all this. And you know that, coupled with the bottled
water and the hot die steamer and the chopped onions
(17:10):
Rice Crispy treats, It's that's hard to overcome.
Speaker 2 (17:13):
Now, that's like giving up.
Speaker 6 (17:14):
Twenty one points in the first quarter, you know, Matt,
it's tough to over You know, we're gonna have a heart.
We're a running team. We're not built to win that way.
Speaker 2 (17:21):
If I make Kates, we're not gonna come back if
I may. Do you feel as though if there were
a slant in your wife's query, do you think Leslie
was intimating that there's no chance that we would do
with Tim comwaye or do you think it's a split
like she could Oh, I could see Petros maybe, but
definitely not Matt. Like, what do you think her her
(17:43):
position before you gave her an answer? What do you
think her position? That's a good question by you, Matt,
thank you.
Speaker 5 (17:49):
I think she was intimating that neither one of you
would leave your respect areas of Orange County in this.
Speaker 6 (17:54):
So what am I gonna do? That's great?
Speaker 1 (18:02):
Tim sets it up like that's a good question. You know,
me and my lovely wife, we love you, guys, we
believe in you. And then hammer bang, no way you
guys would ever, you know, do this for me? I
got this, you know.
Speaker 6 (18:15):
I back off the APB, the secret APB that was
put out right for Kate's twenty four hours ago. Let me,
fifty year old fat radio host with a huge head,
peruse the streets.
Speaker 5 (18:29):
I just kind of picture you guys driving around, windows
down on the on the you know the masta.
Speaker 6 (18:34):
And then how long till we are you? Hey, keg,
where are you? How long till we end up at
the Bob's Big Boys sharing a milkshake with two straw.
Speaker 2 (18:41):
It's ten minutes? Great?
Speaker 1 (18:43):
All right, that is awesome. I thank you to Petro
some money man. They they will kick ass job over
there every day. Five seventy am. There you go, My
ding dong. It's Conway s We'll come back with some news.
I know you guys like news.
Speaker 8 (18:57):
You're listening to Tim Conway Junior on de Mayo from
KFI AM six forty.
Speaker 1 (19:02):
Hey, everybody here in southern California is dealing with roof issues,
especially if your home was burned down. Uh and you're
have to deal with roof issues. So every once in
a while we try to get a guy in and
a company and to talk about specifics about rebuilding and
how you can make your your home safer for you know,
family and friends. And today's guest is a guy named
(19:25):
Levi Ousfeld with roof Buddy.
Speaker 2 (19:27):
How you man, I'm doing well. Nice to see you
kick with the headphones on there with I hear what
we're talking about. But uh, man, I wish I had
known you fifteen years ago. We had to get a
hold of the roof and it was a disaster. The guy,
I mean he was.
Speaker 1 (19:42):
We had to hire a second guy to come in
to fix what the first guy did.
Speaker 2 (19:46):
And it's a it's a lot of work and it's
and it and it's a big investment for a lot
of people. It sure is, you know, to get the
to get the roof on your house.
Speaker 10 (19:54):
Our most roofs still composite, I would say, mostly, especially
if they've been built before nineteen eighty.
Speaker 11 (20:00):
After nineteen eighty Muslim have gone to like tile or
you know, Spanish tile or concrete tile. But homes have
been built prior to nineteen seventy nine are going to
be comp shingle.
Speaker 2 (20:10):
Okay, And what is the life span of a roof nowadays?
Speaker 6 (20:14):
Today?
Speaker 2 (20:15):
You could get roots that will last as long as
fifty years.
Speaker 10 (20:17):
No way, you know, that could be your final roof,
that could be do it once for exactly, that's great, exactly,
but typically the last twenty to thirty years if you're
not getting the whole right. Bells and whistles and you
guys do a Spanish tile for people that.
Speaker 2 (20:31):
Have money, We do, We do. Absolutely.
Speaker 11 (20:33):
They install a little bit more slower, so they don't
you can't knock them out in three four days, right,
They move a little slower.
Speaker 1 (20:39):
But they're good roofs too. What is what are the
drawbacks of Spanish tile?
Speaker 2 (20:43):
They crack?
Speaker 11 (20:44):
They do crack, hard to walk on. Uh oh, impossible
to walk on. Yeah, yeah, there's an art form to it.
It's a little tricky, but I know the art form myself.
Speaker 2 (20:53):
I've tried.
Speaker 6 (20:53):
I didn't do.
Speaker 2 (20:54):
I didn't fare very well. Try that's great. Look if
you don't know it, I don't know who does.
Speaker 11 (20:58):
Yeah, well, my form and my cruise they're pretty good
at it. But those guys are roof ninjas. I can't
say the same for myself.
Speaker 2 (21:04):
And what does it take start to finish?
Speaker 1 (21:06):
Guys building a new house in Pacific Palisades, Malibu, Altadena area,
they're at the stage where they want to apply the roof.
What is the beginning to end stage day wise?
Speaker 2 (21:16):
Okay, so if there's no tear OFFF.
Speaker 11 (21:18):
So for new new construction where there's not going to
be a tear OFFF, we can get a roof and
average size home done probably about a day day and
a half. Really yeah, But if there's a tear OFFF,
you know, you can account for an average home one
day for the tear OFFF. City's got to come out
the next day, do their inspection sign off on it,
and then we can get the instell done in a
day two So an average roof we get done in
(21:38):
three days.
Speaker 1 (21:39):
The reason why I took it so long in our
our former house in Burbank is and I didn't know this,
and I'm sure they skirted the you know, the the
regulations in Burbank, but they had one roof after another
after they had four pile on top of each other.
Speaker 10 (21:54):
Oh yeah, a lot of layers. Oh yeah, is that
something that they you still do? You know, you're you're
technically not supposed to have more than two.
Speaker 2 (22:01):
That's right, That's what I told him.
Speaker 1 (22:02):
I said, whoever okayed this, you know, or maybe someone
nobody ever came out.
Speaker 2 (22:07):
I don't think anyone okayed to They just did it right.
Speaker 1 (22:10):
But does that add extra installation? Is that put too
much weight up there?
Speaker 2 (22:13):
It caused a lot of stress on the structural supports.
Speaker 11 (22:16):
So when we run into that, a lot of times
we'll have to replace rafters or structural roof because they
weren't built to withstand so much weight.
Speaker 2 (22:24):
It could actually cause a lot of challenges. It could
collapse on you. It can collapse, and I've seen that
many times.
Speaker 11 (22:28):
Now way oh yeah, oh yeah wow, especially on some
commercial abilities.
Speaker 2 (22:32):
They'll layer that thing up until it goes down.
Speaker 1 (22:35):
I heard a rumor that ninety nine point nine percent
of the people own homes in California they do not
allow a wood shake roof, that is correct, But there's
one city that does.
Speaker 11 (22:47):
There's one pocket in Long Beach that allows you. I
can't tell you why. Maybe they're just right by the water.
They're not worrying about fire hazard or something. But that
one little pocket you can install a wood shake roof.
There's reel or else that you can install, at least
to my knowledge, and wood obviously because it catches fire,
that's correct. Are these new roofs are they fireproof?
Speaker 6 (23:05):
They are?
Speaker 2 (23:06):
Yeah, wait, it's comp shingle roof.
Speaker 11 (23:07):
They have a Class A fire rating, you know tile
those obviously they are going to be fire resistant.
Speaker 1 (23:13):
And that's what you're looking for. And you know the
old days when my parents had a house in Tarzana
and it was a big vent, it was it was
almost like the size of a window. Now they're much smaller,
so these sparks don't get in there.
Speaker 11 (23:24):
Yeah, lot a lot harder to get through when those
low profile intake vents. So they allow airflow, but they're
there to protect it from debris, wind driven rain, so
less prone for embers to come in there.
Speaker 1 (23:34):
And I once they put the new roof on and
the and these guys did a great job.
Speaker 7 (23:39):
You know.
Speaker 1 (23:39):
Fifteen years ago, I said, where are the vents? And
he said, no, they're on the top. You can't see him,
but that top line that that whole thing is a vent.
Speaker 2 (23:47):
Yeah, that's called the ridge vent.
Speaker 6 (23:49):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (23:49):
The ridge vent's a great idea because that's where all
the heat is. That's right, that's right, the heat raises
the top and boom. That's a great idea. How many
people you got working for you? Well, in the office cruise,
Well we got six cruise total. Oh, that's great.
Speaker 11 (24:03):
Yeah, that's between our Bay Area office and our Southern
California offices, and then we have about twenty project managers.
And then we have everybody in the office, production and
everything else that goes with it.
Speaker 2 (24:15):
I didn't know you were in the Bay Area. How
long you've been in the Bay Area. That's our newer office.
Speaker 11 (24:19):
We just opened up the Bay at the end of
last year, late November.
Speaker 2 (24:23):
And do you have a history of roofing?
Speaker 9 (24:24):
Did you?
Speaker 2 (24:24):
Was your dad into it or No?
Speaker 11 (24:26):
Not at all, not at all. I just I moved
here from Canada. It was the second job that I had.
I was a project manager. I didn't love the way
the client was treating their customers or their quality of
install and I figured we could just do it better.
Speaker 2 (24:38):
I love Canadians, very nice people.
Speaker 11 (24:40):
We're in Canada, Toronto whereabouts if you know Thornhill, just
north of Toronto proper.
Speaker 1 (24:47):
I did a TV show up there called Boogie's Diner
back I don't know, nineteen ninety five, probably before you
were born, and we stayed at the Sutton Place there
in downtown Spectacular. It's beautiful, beautiful town, so it's one
of the greatest towns of the world. I remember sitting
there at a Great Western hotel when the OJ Simpson
chase was going on on the freeway. They're showing the
(25:09):
NBA on the big screen, then the small screen was
OJ Simpson and then about twenty minutes into it, they
realized nobody's watching the game and they flipped it. The
big screen was OJ and the small screen was the
NBA playoff.
Speaker 2 (25:21):
I think's the NBA Finals. I think it was all right.
Speaker 1 (25:23):
So you are if people want to get ahold of
you eight sixty six ninety five, Buddy, that is correct,
and Roofbuddy dot com and you guys are offering two
years without money, two.
Speaker 11 (25:33):
Years no payments no interest. We also have low monthly
payment options and estimates are good for two years. So
if now's not the right time, you can always get
you a pro that's great.
Speaker 1 (25:41):
Yeah, okay, all right, and all right, so phone them
up eight six six ninety five Buddy or roofbuddy dot com.
And you guys got a hell of a lot of
five star refuse, which is impossible in this business.
Speaker 2 (25:52):
Yeah, I mean, it's it's not an easy business.
Speaker 11 (25:54):
Roofing is messy, but we were I believe today as
of today not two hundred ninety five reviews on Google
at a four point seven star.
Speaker 2 (26:01):
So that's great. We do everything we can take care
of our clients. All right.
Speaker 1 (26:04):
If you are rebuilding in Pacific Palisade or Malibu out
in the Altadena area and you want a great guy
to come out and give you an estimate that's good
for two years, go to roofbuddy dot com, roofbuddy dot com.
Speaker 2 (26:17):
Levin, thanks for coming in, man, Thank you so much.
Speaker 1 (26:20):
Roofbuddy dot com. It's Convoys show were live on KFI
more now.
Speaker 8 (26:22):
Correct, you're listening to Tim Conway Junior on demand from
KFI AM six forty.
Speaker 1 (26:28):
All right, they promised water. They originally said last Friday
that you'd have some water, and then they said, ah,
it's not going to happen.
Speaker 2 (26:37):
You know, we just can't get our egg together. So
then they said maybe Saturday, and then I heard it
was Sunday. And then finally early early this morning, they
got the water going again. They got it restored, but
families were without water for a long time. Huge inconvenience,
(26:58):
Huge inconvenience.
Speaker 12 (27:00):
And the good news is everyone should be waking up
to running water this morning. They can use that for
things like doing laundry, flexing a toilet, taking a shot,
Hire's waterfla as you can see behind me, still not
safe to drink yet. That boil water notice remains in effect.
Ledwpie says that will be the case until water quality
testing is complete, and that could take a few more days.
Speaker 4 (27:22):
Take a look.
Speaker 12 (27:23):
A broken valve caused all of this. Now, getting to
it was tough, but workers finished fixing it over the weekend.
Speaker 1 (27:29):
I hope when once they got to it that they
put some cement around it so whenever they have to
get to it again, they don't have to dig twenty
four feet of dirt and shut the water off for
five days.
Speaker 2 (27:40):
You think they did that. Probably not.
Speaker 12 (27:43):
When that valve broke last Tuesday, customers immediately reported no
or little water flow. Throughout the weekend, all customers, even
those who were getting some water, were urged not to
use it so that pressure within the system would stay
stable and where cares could be made. Now that's no
longer necessary. Everything's been fixed and folks can use water
for household functions. But take a look again, everyone Impactage
(28:06):
has still been using bottled water to drink. And the
lines at water giveaway spots like Holly Burnson Memorial Park
and oh Melvanie Park, those were very long over the weekend.
Speaker 2 (28:16):
A lot of people miss that.
Speaker 1 (28:18):
They get into tragedies, you know, they're like, oh, I
miss having to drive down the street to get water.
Speaker 2 (28:23):
There's those people.
Speaker 1 (28:25):
But families without water for a long time, they didn't
like it at all.
Speaker 13 (28:28):
People in this community have been going without water now
for six days. They have been remarkably patient. We're on
Sessanon and you can see right over there Balboa Is
at the end. Part of the street is still closed
off and crews are working NonStop to fix this problem.
Speaker 2 (28:46):
Yeah, and they finally did it three thirty this morning.
It's been pretty much a nightmare for us.
Speaker 14 (28:53):
No showers, no toilets, no hand washing, simple everyday things
we take for granted, like washing up, cooking, even flushing
the toilet.
Speaker 2 (29:03):
Yeah, things you do with water.
Speaker 13 (29:05):
It's been impossible for thousands of people who live in
Granada Hills and port A Ranch since August fifth.
Speaker 15 (29:11):
This has been you know, very difficult to us, to
all the families in Porto Ranch here, but you know,
thanks to the city, we're getting water and then hopefully,
you know, everything gets resolved pretty soon.
Speaker 13 (29:24):
The City of La has been handing out bottled water
at distribution sites for those affected.
Speaker 2 (29:29):
It's been NonStop since seven o'clock.
Speaker 1 (29:31):
What if that'll still go on. I wonder if they'll
still be given out water. Because you can't drink the water.
It's not good for you. You got to boil it first.
I don't know how long you have to boil it for,
but I can't imagine.
Speaker 6 (29:43):
It's long.
Speaker 2 (29:44):
Work Consols nine o'clock to night.
Speaker 1 (29:45):
But then once it's boiled, you got to cool it
down to use it. That takes a while. Can't just
stick that in the freezer. Work Consols nine o'clock to night.
Speaker 13 (29:52):
But residents say, what they really need is water.
Speaker 2 (29:55):
Flowing from there. It's flowing. It's flowing, baby, it's back
water is back to the North Valley and that emergency
is over. Thank God.
Speaker 1 (30:05):
Those people up there five to six days with no water,
and it's a tremendous inconvenience.
Speaker 2 (30:11):
You know, the things.
Speaker 1 (30:13):
You take for granted, using the shower, bathroom, can't do
any of it. Yeah, it's a bad vibe. All right,
This is the Conway Show. If you missed the first hour,
we talked about Steph Fuche and we had three two
of the guy of the five people that saved Steph
Fush's life. They came on with us and that was

part of that Conway Show. We're live on KFI AM
