Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome to All the Smoke, a production of The Black
Effect and our Heart Radio in partnership with Showtime. Welcome
(00:20):
back to All the Smoke Season three teaser. I've got
no guests yet for you, but we're gonna open up
season three October seven with the one and only Half
Pint Superstar Chocolate Drop Kevin Hart, So make sure you'll
tune into that. Jack. We've had about six weeks off.
(00:41):
That's how you won a championship within that time? What
do you do with you downtime? Bro uh, spending a
little time with family. Um, last couple of weeks, Big
Three coaching the trilogy, end up win the championships. You're
thinking your son toying in the Bahamas. Yeah. I went
to the Bama shout out all my teammates. You won
the chip, right, They said they want to come on
the show. Yeah, so we gotta get the whole team
(01:01):
on the show. I mean, they gave you crazy shot.
I was like, man, I'm about to call Matt. It's like, man, Matt,
already know what time it is. We gotta have us
on the show. So straight up, definitely gotta have the
boys on the show. Yeah, that's what's up not. I
mean it was dope because you gotta think our schedules
are crazy outside of the Big Three. I mean, you're
traveling constantly with you're, you know, touching every state in
the United States give Back tour. Um. You know, I've
(01:21):
been traveling a lot with basketball in the Twins school
started ashes sucking, shut up, um, really working, bro. So
we're in the pilot stage of my new Showtime show, um,
the Education of Matt Barnes. So you definitely gotta come in. Yeah,
you gotta come in and play yourself. So excited about that.
We teamed up a lions Gate dropping man. Besides that,
(01:42):
just grind didn't join a little bit of talent time.
Obviously with basketball season not around, you know, neither of
us are really working that much on that standpoint. So
actually for the first time all year, man, you got
to slow down a little bit, which feel good, put
on a little weight, eating good, living, good hood. Yeah.
Season two, we teamed up with Charlotte Magne and Black
Effects over there with with the I Heart Family. We
(02:04):
appreciate that opportunity. You know, Showtime is family, and we
had a good run, man, another good run. I mean
it was hard to top season one with the caliber
of guests we had, but I think we did it
in season two. And then the thing was we stayed
We stayed efficient, you know, we have we kept coming
out with episodes, We kept working doing everything that was
going on, and I think not only didn't help us,
(02:26):
you know, deal with everything by staying busy, but so
when people that was at home, you know, those remote
shows did a lot for them. Yeah, I think we
kind of set the standard with that because I remember
remember people were asking both us like, you know, what
kind of cameras do you guys use? What kind of
microphones are you like? We you know, obviously shout out
to Malcolm Showtime because we kind of set the standard
with this remote shooting, and we had a lot of
good episodes obviously to kind of kept people going through
(02:48):
the pandemic. I just wish we can get some of
those episodes live like we needed. We needed a couple
like the forty and Short needed to be you know what,
It's funny you said that I talked to the forty,
so you know he has his going with a spoon stuff.
Now he has his wine to come back and get
Drun said he wanted to come to the house. One
has come to the show of his house that is
(03:08):
the same day. And yeah, and and and he cooked
something stuff and we tried wine and all that. Oh boy,
oh boy, I'm down. I mean my weeples. Yeah, but
obviously culminating with someone we've been trying to chase down
since we started this show. We finally got our brother
Carmelo Anthony h to sit down with us out there
in New York. What's your thoughts on that interview? Man?
That was big? I can't lie. It was anticipated, like
(03:31):
it like the Kobe. Uh. And if he was anticipated,
you know, we were looking forward to talk to him.
He had so much going on and uh, you know,
we s somebody we had Mara and we're with fans
of so to finally get him on the show. For
I Undrew episode was special. I think it was dope
because he's someone that just doesn't talk much. As the
biggest you know, the biggest superstars you could be in
the NBA, he just doesn't talk much. You know. For
(03:51):
him to come down and sit down with us and
chop it up and really open up and talk what
was big. And I think, you know, we had the
ability to make him feel comfortable. He really kind of
let his guard down, obviously having Fat Joe to me
one of my favorite episodes. Man, he was amazing the
storytelling and I got chills listening to his ship. You
got you, you got your official Terror squad chain. Starting
(04:12):
season three, we had some new additions and I'm gonna
let you started off. We got your brother Pimpcy down
here in this lower corner. I mean, look at the detail,
got the freckles on his face, the jewelry, everything speak
to me what it means to have him on our wall,
but what he also meant to you someone coming from
the Seas, being from put Off, the Texas, nobody never
(04:33):
heard about my city, toil you g K came about
and they was worldwide and what they did and he
was somebody that everybody loves, especially coming from the South,
opened a lot of doors. So for me, he let
me know that I could make it being from my hometown.
You know him and Bumbes, I always salute them when
people asked where you find something from where you G
came from, that's how they know. So to have him
on the wall rest in peace to PIMC. I appreciate
(04:57):
Malcas showtime and everybody maga, you know, not one. It
made me feel that home on the set and having
pimple definitely, you know. And I actually ran into Bun
beat uh At Justin Biever had an event and I
ran into Bun and we gotta get him on the show.
I got to got to get him on the show.
Got a lot of good stuff going on Houston too.
He's gonna he's gonna be the first rapper to headline.
You know, they do a big rodeos every year in Texas.
(05:19):
He's gonna be the first. A lot of headline. The crossover, yeah,
the crossovers, last but not least X Man. Someone that
was just instrumental. Um was that flashing my slash Blood
of my Blood that came out right when I went
to college and it was kind of the soundtrack my
first year. A. Yeah, I can't get up some man
to lose someone like him. Obviously, this is an amazing wall,
(05:41):
but we really hate to see any of these people
up on the wall. To me, all still young, all
should still be pumping. But that's an honor to have
them on the wall and and kind of make their
proud man and live. You know, they built the soundtrack
to Live Many Man, you have big parts our lives man,
so obviously shout out ink one man. Great job on
(06:03):
this mural. We hope you don't have to add nobody
else because we didn't ran out of space. But we're
good with these legends right here. They got our back.
First off, let's get back man. Season three teaser. Let's
go to fan questions. I know it's been a minute
since he did these, but man, let's get right to it. Jack,
you wanna start with the first one. Let's do it first.
Fan question. Louell is a chef. The one you did
(06:26):
with KG was alive artist was great. Maybe more of
those also on your radar? Could you have d Rows
on the episode? I think that would be dope, man,
We definitely want d rows. Uh. D Ros has been
one of the biggest names in basketball. We're definitely big
fans of d Ros and been through a lot. Uh.
He's definitely an example for so many young fellas that think, uh,
(06:47):
everything is all good once you get to the NBA.
He's been through the ups and downs and still getting
through it and still balling and still shining. So having
the rolls to be onest, be on the show would
definitely be great, but live shows man coming. We just
talked about that. It's coming. Man. We've teamed up with
the Light, who is a technology app that will set
up we're gonna start doing a podcast tour, so we're
(07:08):
hoping to hit three major cities before the turn of
this year and then it hit a whole two runs.
So light Time Showtime, um is gonna be crazy. And
what we're gonna do is we're gonna have our show
and then we're gonna have an A list uh comedian
and an a A list uh rapper, singer, entertainer, however
(07:29):
you want to call him man. So we're coming to
you to bring you an evening of all the smokes,
and we're definitely gonna start coming to a city near you.
Next question, Timothy Underscore Cruise the comeback of Mr Jackson's
begging segment. Jack Motherfucker's wants you to start begging again?
What happened? How? Well? You know what, I think it
died out when Motherfucker's was saying it was gonna do
(07:50):
stuff and didn't receive nothing. So you know what I'm saying,
I think I start getting like I got this when
I didn't ask, so maybe I need to stop asking.
Because the beggant segment did not work. People telling about
you got your your drawings back to deal back because
of the bagging segment. No, the begging segment had nothing
to do with that. I worked and made the right calls.
I know the Bagga stegment put it on the radar, though.
(08:13):
The begging segment definitely put it on the radar. And
now you got your boxes back because you've been shotting
ever since. Yeah, definitely put it on the radio. But
a lot of guests that I had that I had
practiced my begging segments. I haven't seen none of my
guests with y'all kid grief film waiting on my shoe.
We both wint on our shoes. I don't even ask
we need them Griffic because I saw Uncle Sha got
his motherfuckering shoes the show did PG. I think you
(08:38):
need to do. I think we need what PG takes
care of my kids straight, So I'm good. I think
we need to do. We need to start like a
po box so people know where to send our show,
whether it be fans too. If you want to send
us your gear, you know they'll be trying to send
all kinds of stuff to the house. Yeah, I think
if we that's what we're gonna do. I think we're
gonna start a po box. If you want us to
wear your gear, I'm an extra large, I'm a large.
(09:00):
Send us your ship. If we like it, we'll where
to give you a shout out. Something new season three
just off the top, like now the wait not my heart.
One thing we had fun with I think we've yeah,
we've only done one, but we got more coming was
the animation. You know, we told uh the game sixth
story with Snoop at the risk Carlton. That got a
lot of feedback, a lot of loves um skits between
(09:20):
me and you, like real life skits. How we we
we you know, we went got the Christmas Tree, and
we want to continue to evolve this. We feel like
all the smokers so much more than a podcast. We
want to just continue to bring different unique looks and ship.
We feel like, uh, you guys were like, so stay
locked in with that frank question three POI say what
(09:40):
collab with I am Athlete podcast? We would love too.
That's our brothers. We've seen him at the fight. We
actually spoke about that with our brothers man, and uh,
you know we're gonna not only that, we're gonna collab
with Let's Get Technical, the Nugglehead podcast. That's all our
brothers in the space. So look forward to this season
that's collabing with all those guys. Gonna be dope collab
even the possibly bring him on tour, you know what
(10:02):
I mean. So, like I said, we got a lot
of ship cooking over here that we want to bring
you know, our brothers into. Just just like any other situation,
we got some good business cooking up, so we're gonna
offer it to them once everything is settled in. So yeah,
I definitely looking for those collapse Again, we're all in
the same space, same gang, so it's it's good to
get together and kind of tuck our ships. So even
though we didn't know what the podcast was, right, we
can't say we're gonna come in and change the space
(10:23):
and h this podcast. You heard a lot of kickback,
but I really think we have and you know, obviously
you know, I've been doing some other stuff with Brandon
Marshall and it's dope to hear when people say, like, Yeo,
we look up to your podcast to kind of roadmap
our ship, you know what I mean. And we never
did this for that. We wanted to bring our family
unique look at some of their favorite people. But to
see on the business side and the inspirational side that
(10:45):
we're motivating people and opening up doors for our brothers
and sisters in this space, I think that's dope. You
have to hear gut people like Gills say he watch
our showing basics show off of even to have Charlemagne
call us and asks as what we're doing matter, I
think it's big, man. But just to be able to
control our on narrative and give others the opportunity to
speak on to control that on nagative too, I think
(11:05):
that's been big for you. We've been able to create
a safe space, you know. I mean, we've been able
to create a safe space, and you know the amount
of times of people say, man, I've never said this
on our show, it is crazy, And I think obviously
that's when you tap into that goal. Man. So I
think that's obviously a credit to you and I and
what we've built in who we are and obviously the
team and what we continue to do. Man. So we
(11:26):
again continue once to evolve this space, and and and
really kind of not the ceiling that you know, podcast
is the ceiling, but we feel like this is more
than a podcast that we're gonna continue to kick the
fucking ceiling off. Tim Fully sixteen fifteen have multiple guests
(11:50):
on the show at once. Example, Paul pierced Kevin Garnett
Region Randall to talk about the seas. I think that'd
be dope, like roundtable conversations, and it could be something
we create. Don't know if we want to give this
idea away because they might steal it, but like, you know,
maybe best teams that never never did, never won, maybe
we have that as a segment. You know, we have
the Portland Trailblazers with the you know that jail Blazer
(12:12):
team that was Nugget, the Nuggets team, the Sacramento Kings team.
So if any of them, you guys steal that idea.
You know that I said that ship for because I've
been wanting to do that. But I think that's a
great idea. I think roundtable conversations are dope. We had
a roundtable's got the conversation during season two, but it
was around politics, So I think they have a roundtable
(12:32):
conversation around basketball and what the team was like back then.
I think that'd be super du super dug. I'm down.
Next fan question, gotta be more careful more female athletes
like Serena Williams, Cheryl Miller, Candice Parker, Diana to Rossi,
Megan Rapino, Shikari Richson, and name a few more. But
I agree with that, bro, because you know, we're both
fans of female sports as well. We have a lot
(12:54):
of relationships with a lot of female athletes as well too,
so um, we're gonna be reaching out to a lot
of this season. Yeah no, I definitely agree. I actually
was just talking to someone about Serena rain Was literally
right before we started filming, so we would love to
get her. We've been begging Candice Parker's busy ass to
come on the show, but we know she's juggling motherhood
and the season and multiple jobs, so she's getting in
(13:14):
her bag. But yeah, no, we definitely are gonna make
an effort um this year to to to really bring
more women to the show. Obviously shout out the guests
we've had in the past, but Carrie Champion, Jamille Hill,
Rachel Rachel Nichols, Cinebus, Genie Buss, Joey Taylor, Taylor to
name a few, so Sue Bird. Um, so definitely looking
(13:36):
forward to bringing out more female guests Um Swoops, Cheryl Swoops.
So if you hear us, if you heard your name,
any more names, you guys, help us get them. We
need help, so help us. Come on. Liz, Liz camp Bay. Yeah, Liz,
you're definitely do on the show this season, So we're
definitely gonna tap in and get some more females this year.
Ja Pinos eighteen podcast recorded during the game with guest
(13:57):
features and former players. We actually talked about doing that.
I think that here where we would have, you know,
a live game. I think obviously the pandemic slowd all
that down, but we're talking about having a live a
game here, you know, eat, drink, smoke, enjoy ourselves and
kind of shoot a pod from there. So, um, if
this pandemic permits, we would definitely like to do more
interactive stuff and get to know our fans and be
(14:19):
more inactive from that kind of standpoint, yep, but you
gotta roll your own no sharing weed, no passing weed on,
no puffing past smoking alone. Shout out to nip. Yeah,
and next fan question dollar Bill Boneo. We are ever
choosing a fan to come on the show and experience
all the smoke of course. Man, We're definitely looking forward
to having some guys on set, you know, just to
(14:41):
be around and get the whole experience. But that's why
we wanted coordinate to live shows, so what we can
can get a good experience of what we do, how
we do it, and how cool we are. Y'all would
trip out if you saw just kind of how laxed
the crew is and and and how our day goes
on the shoot day, although it's a lot of work
and it gets exhausting, I mean, our our set, our environment,
it's so dope, so agetting the pandemic slow that down. Um,
(15:03):
we want to start inviting people around to shadow us,
shadow the film crew, because I mean, obviously we're the
stars of the show, but I feel like there's so
many made more more ways you can be involved in
the podcast space. So you come on and meet our
amazing crew and kind of see how the vibe is.
That might you know a lot of fire under you
to do something. So looking forward to that. Tray b
(15:23):
Target coaches at the College and professional level hard right
now to do football, but maybe a coach K Phil Jackson,
if you'll do it, pat Riley, et cetera. Would be
cool to hear their perspectives on different things y'all come
up with. Couldn't agree more. It would be an honor
to have Phil Jackson, Mafia, pat Riley, uh, coach K
you name it. So that's a good idea because I
(15:43):
didn't really cross my mind. So we'll definitely try to
put feelers out and um see if we can get
those guys because those are you know, obviously brilliant minds
of the game. Anytime you can get a pat Riley
Phil Jackson on your show, that's so it's an ultimate
win just to mable to pick their brain and hear
what was going on through their mind doing those championship
royns as as a win win. Next fat question and
(16:04):
if he wants saw you, what would be a one
question you would ask Adam Silver if he was on
the show. I know what I would ask him. I mean,
after the documentary, you haven't you haven't thought about giving
us our money back or some of it back like that?
And I wouldn't that I wouldn't even be joking, bro,
like I wouldn't look at him in his eyes. And
after you seeing this documentary and after looking at everything
(16:25):
that happened, do you think we should give us some
of our money back? Bro? That's exactly what I asked
that even though on his watching U. But they still
got the money to pay us back. I always wonder
where the funk that fine money went, you know. I mean,
I think if we get fine, we should be able
to pick the charity of the gooes to or you
know that the gift back because they took a lot.
(16:46):
I lost more than half a million dollars in fines.
You lost. You lost a couple of millions just that
fight alone, right, and you kicked out several times after
that he lost? Now I think that would be dope
my question, man, I don't know. I mean, he came
into a crazy time, especially you know, his first job
was to kick my former owner out the NBA, you
(17:08):
know what I mean. So he came in during that
that that the Donald Sterling scandal with the Clippers. But
he's been great. You know, I'm a big fan of Adam.
Adam silver Um obviously loosening the cannabis guidelines of the
probably definitely a discussion we would have. But yeah, we
would love to get Adam Silver. Season three will be
in New York a lot so Adam Pence a lot
(17:30):
of time man coming for you. Also, let us be
the first to call an NBA game smoking not actually
you know, on the NBA network, but give us the
rights to be able to do that, you know what
I mean? That a bit dope too, Okay, push the envelope.
Then push the envelope. Then at Wayne too Wavy, who's
the person that's no longer with us that you wish
(17:51):
you had the opportunity to have on the show. That's
a great question, Wayne too Wavy? How would go Nip?
I think Nick would have been a great interview. You
know are our shows about sports and culture, lifestyle and
uh you know he speaks to all that from me
in course side at the Laker game to pull his
pants up when uh Rondo and CP got into a
ready to throw hands, the movement he's created while he
(18:14):
was here and obviously post afterlife. So yeah, my my
pick would definitely be Nipped. Uh, I would have I
would have to go with Malcolm X on Tupac. Oh,
Malcolm X to Tupac, just to just to dig deep
into a lot of things that's going on the day,
(18:35):
to have their opinion what's going on and and and
you know, Malcolm X with somebody I look up to
because he would fall full equality the right way, you
know what I mean. And just to be able to
ask at act those real questions and what was going
on through their mind at certain times of their life.
I think that had been big for me. I see,
you're watching Godfather Harlem now, huh, Yes, she turned me
on to and I can't stop watching. The episode is
(18:58):
Windy Sunday nights every Sunday night. Okay, So they just
got they just got back Cowen's two to five All
the Smoke more behind the scenes video. Those are dope. Yeah,
shout out to the team, particularly Richie rich and the crew. Um. Yeah,
that behind the scenes is dope. And I think it's
you know, everyone wants to know what it's like, you know,
they oh, we saw him as a player where they
like off the court, we see him on All the Smoke.
(19:20):
What they're like behind the scenes. So I think behind
the scenes is always go the material, and I think
we've done a great job of kind of utilizing that
behind the scenes, so definitely look forward to doing that.
And we got a lot more for you guys. Yeah.
I like when the camera just rolling and we get
to really be us and they have people around to
see how the act as well. So more that coming
in closing Bigger Music Collapse, New merch dropping in October,
(19:42):
welcoming new and old friends to the Showtime Basketball Family.
About to kick off season three with the motherfucking Bang
with the one and only Kevin Hart dropping October seventh,
So stay tuned. We appreciate you'all. Man, We're back for
season three real quick. What's our top ten wish list?
(20:04):
Right now? Let's just start doing some names out there.
We want top ten, whishless, jay Z, Beyonce, just the
whole family, blew all of them. Dr Dre Dr Dre, Jordan's,
Serena Williams, Serena Williams, Magic Johnson, Mike Tyson, Yes, um
said Michael Jordan. Yeah, okay, Michael Jordan, Okay, uh fifty
(20:26):
cent yes, we gotta fifty. Almost have fifty for this
round too. But he and I got and I got one.
Who I want to get a sleeper? WHOOPI Goldberg? She
blows now too. I want Whoopy on here, some other
players I want. We can't forget the Golden State fucking reunion,
don Nelson, Nelly Cush, that's gotta happen. That's I forgot
(20:49):
to happen. We're trying to get the Weak belief Ship.
But you know, beat got damn still talking. He definitely
need to check a trip to mount He smokes a
weed with our old coach and chop it up. So again, man,
thank you for riding with us. We appreciate you all.
We love you guys. Season three promises to be bigger
than ever and again man, we kicked that off October seven.
(21:13):
Thank you guys for ryan with us. We love you,
We appreciate you. Guys. We promised Season three is gonna
be bigger and better. We'll see you all next week
