Speaker 1 (00:00):
Oh man, how are you guys and girls? How are
you doing? No show?

Speaker 2 (00:06):
Tonight's Apaulo Gee's Then he says, to work, and it's
She's like Tornado season.

Speaker 1 (00:13):
There's two.

Speaker 2 (00:14):
I don't know if you know this, but there's two
big tornado seasons every year. It happens in the spring
in the fall. She's kind of like Tornado season. Actually,
now that I'm saying this out loud, it's perfect. It
works perfect with her because it kind of correlates to
the real Tornado season. And my nickname for her is
Tornado because he'll just like walk into a room and

(00:35):
just like the Tasmanian devil, mess it all up.

Speaker 1 (00:38):
Now that I'm a housewife, she messes it all up
and then bounces.

Speaker 2 (00:42):
And anyway, it's a Tornado season for her, meaning that
she's got back to back events and a lot of
stuff happened.

Speaker 1 (00:49):
And hang on a second, hang on. She just texted me.
It's gonna be embarrassing.

Speaker 2 (00:54):
No, but here I am telling you guys about the
hard works he's doing. She's sending me Liam p former
One Direction member dies, Well, I guess you got my
first reaction on that. Holy crap, he fell off a
found dead after falling from a third floor hotel balcony

(01:16):
Buenos Aires.

Speaker 1 (01:18):
Hopefully I said that right? Did I say that right?
I should know that on Wednesday. Wow, that's crazy.

Speaker 2 (01:26):
I want to start asking questions, but it's definitely too soon.
So I'm just gonna, you know, just take that in
and we'll discuss that coming up in a future show.
WHOA What a way to go? I don't think I
can help myself. You're probably asking the same questions.

Speaker 1 (01:46):
Right, like was there drinks? Drugs of volts?

Speaker 2 (01:52):
Some shady characters, there's you know, there's there's questions.

Speaker 1 (01:57):
Way too soon for the questions, all right, ain't too
soon for the questions. I don't even have the whole story.
She just set me like two sentences. That's it.

Speaker 2 (02:08):
Well, I guess that puts things in perspective. Not that
I knew the guy or anything. It's not like somebody
really close guy. You don't want to hear of anybody dying,
but it still puts things in perspective.

Speaker 1 (02:18):
Wow.

Speaker 2 (02:19):
All right, let me try to get back on track
talk about timing. Here's really the deal that's going on.
First of all, Denise has a lot of groups and
a lot of things that she's doing for the next
couple of weeks. So we're trying to figure out like
a schedule to do the show, so we might have
to move it to like a Friday or Saturday, but
I still wanna. I don't want to give you shows
because I don't think that's the right phrase, the right

(02:42):
way to describe what I'm doing. I'd like to connect
with you, tell you about some of the stuff that's
going on, because also if we're jumping on once a
month or something, there's a lot of things that get lost,
and there's some things going on right now. So I
like to be able to connect with y'all, and that's
what I'm doing right I'm gonna tell you about some
of the things that have been going on, and also
my idea.

Speaker 1 (03:02):
I finally can tell you about it.

Speaker 2 (03:04):
I really wanted to do it on the live show
so I can actually show you, but I didn't want
to do that while making a few gifts for people.
But now that the gifts have been delivered, I am
free to tell you about this idea and you are
free to tell me that it stinks. So I want
to do that here in just a sec But first,
going back to Denise. That's why we're not doing the

(03:26):
show tonight, and also why I was looking at her
text message and it kind of threw me off before
I even read it, and it was one of like
those old shit texts. The reason is is tomorrow I
have an interview.

Speaker 1 (03:42):
Now.

Speaker 2 (03:43):
A lot of y'all know me. You know I'm not
a superstitious guy, make fun of all that stuff, not
a big believer in karma. I just do what's right
because it's the right thing to do, not because I'm
afraid of the consequences.

Speaker 1 (03:55):
You know me.

Speaker 2 (03:56):
You know, I'm more like scientifically based. That wasn't but
I am. It's just the way that my brain works.
So but I'm telling you all that to also say
that I don't want to tell you where the interview
is tomorrow because I feel like I'm gonna jinx it.
So I've been keeping it real close to the chest.
Denise obviously knows. Look, if I'm being honest with you,

(04:18):
this is so out of my realm of possibilities that
I'm surprised I even got a note back. I have
been applying at this company for god two years at
least at least I've gotten used to their decline letter,
the automated response that says thank you, but no, thank you,

(04:40):
there's another whatever, we'll keep your resume. I'm like, okay,
we'll keep my resume. Then I'm gonna send you another.
I've been on the side. I've been looking at jobs
that I'm not qualified for and jobs that, frankly, I
am very qualified for, and just just keep getting one
note after another, and then to my surprise, I get
an email. I've gotten so many notes from this place

(05:03):
that I'm going to tomorrow, so many no's that I
thought I was getting scammed. Oh sad is that Denise
thought I was getting scammed? I said, oh shit, look
at this. He said, that's not real. We started googling
the guy that sent the email, and we still like,
after finding him, we still think I might be getting scammed.

(05:26):
I'm gonna get in the car tomorrow and I'm gonna
drive two hours. I'm dropping hints. I'll drop some hints
drive two hours tomorrow, and if I get scammed, like
if I pull up and it's a parking lot and
I get robbed, I won't be surprised. I will not
be surprised. But in the off chance that this is legit,
and I do think it is. I had to sign

(05:48):
an NDA, which is as I'm recording that I don't
want to say again show because we're connecting. As I'm
recording this. It also just dawned on me that, well,
I haven't said anything bad yet, and I think I
can say where the interview is. I just can't say
about the stuff that happens there. So I should really
read that NDA. But you know what, I signed it,

(06:09):
and then it's like poof, it's gone. It's not like
I gotta it's not like it's not like I got
an emailed copy. Oh man, there's so much stuff going on.
But anyway, like if I pull up tomorrow and I
get robbed, I will not be surprised, is what I'm saying.
And I will tell you where the interview is taking place.
But i'd like to do that tomorrow, just out of

(06:30):
weird superstition that I don't even really buy into. But
if I can do anything to help any kind of chances,
whether that's not walking under ladders or you know, triple
check in my resume, I'm gonna do that. So again,
going back to that text message, why it really got
my attention again before knowing that it was, like, you know,

(06:51):
some seriously sad news is that I had just sent
her my resume packet to print at work, which is
very embarrassing for me because I don't know why, you know,
my cover letter it really came from the heart, and
I didn't want it to be like an AI generated
cover letter, so I really spent some time on it
and stuff, and I just I never think my stuff
is good enough. And originally I was just gonna print

(07:13):
it here because we obviously we have an HP printer,
but the stupid motherfan printer is If anybody out there,
if you right now thinking to yourself, I need a printer,
HP not the fucking way to go, piece of shit.
Sorry for the language, but it really comes from the
heart because I got this when we started the show
with the Rhyan, when we first moved to Houston after Atlanta.

Speaker 1 (07:37):
It's just been sitting in this room. I've barely printed
anything on it.

Speaker 2 (07:40):
The scanner stopped working, and now it just like cycles
or just makes noises.

Speaker 1 (07:44):
What it does.

Speaker 2 (07:44):
It just makes noise NonStop for a half hour and
then spits out like twenty pieces of white paper, even
though it has ink and like you gotta have a
program installed on the computer to even connect to it.
It is the biggest pile of trash, the worst purchase
of twenty twenty two, because every year I like to
grade my purchases, and I think I got it in

(08:05):
twenty twenty two, absolute worse. Don't go HP any other printer,
go for it. Let me know how it works out,
because I'm gonna be in the market for a printer obviously,
but just don't go eh spe so anyway, because I
can't print my stupid resume here. I sent it to Denise,
but now she's gonna read my cover letter and it's like, uh,
I don't know.

Speaker 1 (08:26):
Maybe I shouldn't be embarrassed.

Speaker 2 (08:27):
I just can't help it, not confident in my writing,
and it's hard to you know what I was gonna.
I can't tell you because you're gonna put the pieces together.

Speaker 1 (08:35):
All right.

Speaker 2 (08:35):
Tomorrow, I'm gonna drop a plus show and I'm gonna
tell you where the well I'll see what I can
even say. Again, I think I'm pretty confident that I
can tell you where the interview's taking place at. And
let's be honest, seriously, don I'm gonna get the job,
even though I didn't because get the interview. So we're
gonna find out. But tomorrow i'm gonna let you know.
And with that, I'm gonna let you know what I

(08:57):
originally was gonna do for a cover letter, which I
decided to last minute. I still think it's a great idea,
but you're gonna laugh when you hear all the details.
And again, I'm gonna do that for Plus people tomorrow
because again part of me just doesn't want to jinx it.
I don't want to have it out for everybody, and
I think, like, I don't know, let's be honest, Like
twenty thirty people have the Plus show, so I feel
more confident about telling that group, that smaller group than

(09:20):
you know.

Speaker 1 (09:20):
A bunch of people. I mean, I'll eventually talk about
it on the show. I'll probably talk about it next week.

Speaker 2 (09:26):
But if you have a Plus account, I thank you
for it. Plus, I gotta give you some extra. I
gotta give you something for that, so be on the lookout.
I'll record something on the way back. I'll do it
after the interview because.

Speaker 1 (09:36):
It's it's a drive.

Speaker 2 (09:38):
It's a little bit of a drive, which also let
me throw this question out to y'all and drop me
an instant voice note, yeah, it still works.

Speaker 1 (09:45):
Just go to.

Speaker 2 (09:46):
PKDK dot com on a cell phone. Can't say mobile
phone on a cell phone. Hit the ivan button. I'll
get your comments or or email me. How easy is that?
PK at PKDK dot com. But what's the furthest you've
commuted for a job? Half hour, forty minutes an hour?
I'm talking about like each way, So make sure you

(10:06):
specify that as you as you let me know. How
long did you last? How long did you think in
the beginning you were going to be able to keep
it up? How long did it actually last? Did you
end up quitting because of it?

Speaker 1 (10:15):
Did you move.

Speaker 2 (10:16):
Closer to that job like what happened in your situation,
or maybe you have a friend that went through it.
We had one of our close friends, Melissa See would
drive from Salem to downtown Portland. If you're in Atlanta
or Houston, you don't know the distance?

Speaker 1 (10:30):
Is there?

Speaker 2 (10:30):
About forty five minutes each way every single day. Actually,
I think she only worked well I want to say only,
but I think she.

Speaker 1 (10:36):
Worked four days out of the week. I could be.

Speaker 2 (10:38):
Wrong, could be off on that because he would do
the twelve hour shifts. He's a nurse, so I don't
know what the I don't think it's three days. I
think it was like four days, maybe five, I don't know,
but I remember at the time. I'm like, you're nuts.
You're driving forty five like an hour to work and
then an hour back. And I might be in the
same boat. But this is such a crazy opportunity. Need

(11:00):
to even be interviewing for that, you know, just fingers crossed,
And I appreciate any positive comments. So let's be honest.
This probably will not work out. So now let me
tell you about what I have been putting together and
trying to tell you about on the actual live show. Well,
I just got a message from our pal Jerry, who

(11:22):
was by the way, not to get off track, but
that Oregon game, WHOA, what a move by coach landing
big brain moves.

Speaker 1 (11:31):
My friends wonder if he's gonna get fined for that.
But what a game? That was home.

Speaker 2 (11:35):
We almost like walked away from that game, not that
we were at the game, but we're at a friend's
house and then their parents are big LSU fans, so
they had the LSU game on. I'm watching the Oregon game,
and then we were switching back and forth. The Orgon
game was so good that the LSU fans stayed on
the Oregon game, and then after the game, then we
went back over to LSU. Also something else that's craziest.
So we go to our friends' parents' house, which is

(11:57):
like forty forty five minutes away, and it's their kid's
birthday party, which ties in to what I've been working on,
which is, you know, everybody knows that I love photography,
and so I've been taking some pictures of different people
and their kids. Did some graduation pictures shout out Ureil.
I did some blue bonnet pictures for our buddy Betts

(12:18):
and his daughter six months ago or something, and some
other stuff. Right, So you know, when you're taking a
bunch of pictures, not all of them make the cut,
but some of them have like some crazy expressions that
you want to do something with you They're just adorable, right,
So what I did is I took that funny little
expression that Sophia was making, and then I put her
like writing a dragon, right, which sounds insane, And this

(12:40):
would have been so much better to tell you while
being able to show you this because I feel like
you really need to see it. But you probably have
seen some of my work in the past, some of
my photoshop work, and I never really thought anything of
it except that I love to combine pictures and just
create things. And then I started thinking about, like that's
always been something that you know, maybe I was wrong about, Like,

(13:03):
for instance, this is weird just talking to myself with
you listening right now, because I feel like it's like
a one on one therapy session, like things come out,
and then I start thinking about the things that I say,
and it's just weird, is what I'm saying. But going
back to the radio show right Being in the industry,
I know a lot of people wanted to do radio

(13:23):
and there's nothing wrong with it because of the music,
the interviews, the concerts, the perks. Right for me, it
wasn't about that.

Speaker 1 (13:30):
In the beginning.

Speaker 2 (13:30):
Was always about like will somebody laugh? Can I just
brighten somebody's day? And an extension of that became like
how to make people laugh? So that's what I really
For me, it was just about how do we creatively
get somebody's attention, what's funny? What will make them laugh,
what's what can we sculpt into like the greatest prank

(13:51):
of old time or something? You know which and follow
me on this, I think just talking out loud, it's
the it's creating things that I'm really in love with,
not necessarily doing radio because I never wanted to be
the you know, there's a thing called voice tracking, which
is just you record like fifteen seconds and then you

(14:12):
do a whole show in like five minutes and then
you're done, which is great for some people. Some people
love that, and you still need to have a lot
of talent to be able to pull that off. When
they had me voice tracking stuff, it would take me
about four hours to do a four hour show because
I sucked at that so much because that wasn't in
my wheelhouse. You know, that wasn't what I was interested in.
It wasn't really creating what I wanted to kind of create,
which took it took more time than just that thirty seconds,

(14:36):
which again I'm not knocking. I want to make it
very very clear that I'm not knocking voice tracking, because
you still the people that are good at it, they're
not just repeating the same stuff over and over and over.

Speaker 1 (14:46):
You know.

Speaker 2 (14:46):
I was just that wasn't me. So I think I'm
just getting off track now. Bottom line is I love
creating things. Whether it's a parody, whether it's a segment,
whether it's a video, a special effect in a video.
I just like it when something comes together and the
end result is like you know, for instance, when I

(15:06):
published YouTube videos back in the day, when I would
do parodies or whatever it, man, it would take forever
because like when you hit the published button, you can
never go back. It's like done, It's out there, that's it,
you know. So I would always want to make it
as perfect as it could be because I enjoyed that
process of getting something to a point that that hopefully
years later I can go back to and be like, oh,
that that was freaking amazing. For instance, I've been stuck

(15:29):
on this video I've been doing for our friends because
we went to Greece like God when we first moved
to Houston, right, And the reason I haven't told them this,
but the reason that I'm really stuck on it is
because a long time ago, I did a video where
we were all in Europe at the same time. We
were in different parts of Europe and not knowing that
I was going to make a video. Elia was recording

(15:50):
on his phone just so he could have memories, and
then we Denise and myself we were recording, and then
after when we came back, I asked to see his
videos and I was able to put something together that
it just it fit, like it was such a jigsaw puzzle.
But when you watch it, like years later now, I
watched that video and I'm like, holy crap, Like it's
just the way that it ties into each other. It's

(16:11):
just like maybe one of the greatest things I've ever done,
at least for me. Other people might hate it, but
for me, you know. So I've been stuck on doing
the Grease video because, like I know, I can never
match that quality, but I still love.

Speaker 1 (16:24):
Working on it. So Jesus, I went off the fucking
reservation on that is that I don't even know if
that's bad to say. Now, can you say that.

Speaker 2 (16:36):
We're doing the podcast with Ryan, like I enjoyed making
the photoshop jobs of like you know, sayta hitting on
his mom or whatever, you know, like where you're it's
called compositing. So what I've been doing going back to
Sophia's he had this funny little face and I'm like,
I think I can make her writing a dragon, and
it'd be really cool if you know, it's if I

(16:58):
could print it out and give it to them a gift.
And then I was looking at Elias Kid and his
cute pictures and I'm like, oh, that's gonna be awesome
if I can make something with this. And then and
then so I went down this rabbit hole and I
started making.

Speaker 1 (17:10):
Other people call it art.

Speaker 2 (17:12):
I wouldn't go necessarily that far because you know, I've
always said if I can do it, it's definitely not art.
That's my gauge for art. That's when you see a
dented soda can in a museum and people are setting in.
I'm like, you're a fucking idiot, Like anybody can dent
that soda can not art. So what I initially thought
nothing of, you know, Elia came back and he was like,
oh my god, like this is amazing. People would love

(17:34):
it if you if you did this, like for Christmas
or something, because really, what it is it's a composite,
one of a kind and it's printed. Really I got
to get him on here because I think he's gonna
do a better job of describing what it is that
I'm trying to tell you. So what I'm gonna do
is in the description of this podcast is gonna be
a link click on that, and I'm gonna put up

(17:56):
the examples the things that I did for other people,
just so you can kind of right. And then what
I want from you is like your honest feedback of
is there anything there do you think that's something that
I should pursue, because that is that's a huge, huge
interest of mine. I love doing it, and I have
all these ideas and all these things that I want
to do, and I guess what's really holding me back

(18:17):
is the fact that everything I've done hasn't really worked out.

Speaker 1 (18:20):
You know.

Speaker 2 (18:20):
Plus the wrench and this whole thing is the job
interview tomorrow, so we're going to see how that goes.
So stick with me. I really appreciate y'all. I'll drop
that plus show tomorrow and tell you about the interview.
And then what I want to do is I don't
think next Wednesday we can have the live show either
because of Denise's work, but maybe we can do a
show on Saturday or like a different day of the

(18:42):
week depending. I'm telling you, she's like NonStop right now,
and she's been absolutely amazing. And I can't tell you
how guilty I feel, because you know, I need to contribute,
and it's like, all right, fuck, like I've been applying.

Speaker 1 (18:56):
Dude, did you.

Speaker 2 (18:57):
Know that FBI agent you got to be under the
age of like thirty four or some shit, Like what
is that about?

Speaker 1 (19:01):
I can't be that would have been a cool job.
I would have been a fucking fed could flip the bats,
have a gun pow pow pal.

Speaker 2 (19:08):
Actually that doesn't really interest me because like I would
immediately get shot. But a detective, that'd be some shit
I'd like to do that. Can't do it too old.
I mean, I've been looking at all kinds of jobs.
As I talk to you, I just get a text
from her, maybe longer than six. I'll keep you posted
just so y'all know that this isn't just us. You know, Oh,

(19:29):
we're not gonna do a show. It's tough right now
as we try to figure out. But also things are happening.
So I do feel I do feel really good. I
feel really good about the things that I that I
made for people that I honestly didn't think they would
enjoy them.

Speaker 1 (19:44):
They seem to like.

Speaker 2 (19:46):
Them, so I'm equally as excited for that as for
this other insane I mean, these people are out of
their minds to have me show up tomorrow.

Speaker 1 (19:55):
Fuck a NDA kid didn't read a word.

Speaker 2 (19:58):
Taylor Swift once wanted me to sign an NDA to
hear like some new song. I said, fuck that. This
says I can't talk shit about it for twelve years twelve.
Probably should have read that NDA. Learn from Me kids.
One of the other pictures that I made composite, I said,
call him. I need to figure out what to call
these things. I hesitate to call them art because you know,

(20:19):
we went over that. But I had this picture a
long time ago. We went to a friend's wedding in
Cabo and I had brought a drone. No surprise, you
know me. If you've ever been on vocation with me,
you know I got like twelve cameras, fucking five lenses,
two drones, not the wires to control the drones, so
they just sit in the bag.

Speaker 1 (20:36):
But that that trip I actually had all the wires.

Speaker 2 (20:39):
So I had de Nise in this pretty dress because
the beats that we were staying at a hotel, and
the beats there was nobody on the beach, so I
had to go out on this dress. But the drone
up took this awesome picture, and as beautiful as the
picture is, it always missed something because it was just
like she's in a beautiful dress, but it's just like
an ocean, and I don't know, it's kind of hard
to describe. Like I love the picture, but it was

(21:02):
just always missing something. So before I even did the
kids the kid composites, when Godzilla Minus One, I don't
know if you've seen the Netflix movie, when it won
for like Special Effects of the Year at the Oscars,
they released the model. So I started playing with a model,
you know, and I'm like, oh my god, I think
I can have Godzilla walking in the ocean in front

(21:23):
of Denise with that blue dress. So then I started
messing with that and I had like twelve variations later.

Speaker 1 (21:31):
The shit looks like a painting.

Speaker 2 (21:33):
Like I don't even know how to describe it, Like
you'll have to see it for yourself, but like I
even added to her dress to make it more flowy
and like it really for as dumb as a concept
as that sounds, And trust me, as you're listening to me,
you're like, who's gonna ever want that up on a wall?
When you see it, you're gonna be like, oh, that's
kind of cool. At least I think it's kind of cool.

(21:54):
So what I want you to do is give me
your honest feedback. And again, I'll have the link in
the description of the show, and there's only I think
there's four that I have right now, But just tell me, like,
could you see parents getting these, you know, and hanging
them up or maybe like as gifts for grandparents or
I don't know, you know, I just really love making them,

(22:15):
and i'd like, I don't want to leave an opportunity
I guess on the table. Plus, I think I kind
of want to do some kind of tutorials and how
I made those in case other people want to make them,
because I feel like the technology's out there right now
and if I can do you definitely one percent can.

Speaker 1 (22:29):
So how are we rating this? The babbling on the show? Jesus?

Speaker 2 (22:34):
I am very excited about tomorrow, though it's in the
confirmation email. I hope that's not in the NDIA. I'm like,

Speaker 1 (23:17):
You know, you got like a button down and a
sweater over it.

Speaker 2 (23:19):

can wear that tomorrow.

Speaker 1 (23:23):

one is my my.
