How'd the big shows go? Unreal.
Two of the best nights in my career.
Crowd were amazing, venue perfect.
We Nando's unreal. What's your plan for next year
Going bigger and better? Next year I'm just going to
relax with a big cup of tea. Separate welcome to this episode

(00:41):
of the Tea with Me podcast. With me, she and Todd.
Before we get into this episode, let me tell you a couple of
things about a couple of little things.
We are sponsored by none other than that prize guy.
You're going, what is our prize guy?
Well, if you like prizes, I've got the guy for you.
You owe. Oh, just like an international

(01:03):
company or something like that. No, no, no company from here.
You. Oh well, it's coming here doing
price stuff. How much is he giving away?
What, £70? So my God, he's giving away £70
on a first generation iPod 125 millimetre.
He has given away £125 million. I made 7 millionaires.

(01:24):
You probably know because you'resuch a small place, somebody who
is one massive on that prize guy.
I the first time I met that prize guy, I then was doing a
workout at Sean McComb boxing place and I said I just met that
prize guy and Sean goes he won aRolex.
I'm point to do is mates, we want to Rolex that week from

(01:47):
that price guy. Huge cash giveaways, sometimes
smaller amounts where you pay like literally a couple of pence
or a couple of pound. And look at the website here,
he's got a caravan car and jet ski or 150 grand.
And tickets? Tickets for that are probably
£50. Yeah, 90 P He.
Must be mental. There's some at I think he when

(02:11):
he sends out to his website guy,he's putting it up wrong.
You think there's? Mistakes.
I think that price guy also has that website guy and anyone who
works with that something guy, the next millionaire he's making
is a 23rd of February. If you don't believe me, go to
thatpriceguy.co.uk and see what he's all about.
I've tell you that we are doing a huge live podcast in the SSC
Arena in Belfast on the 23rd of May 2025.

(02:37):
It's going to be big. It's bold.
It's it's Bravo. You know, it's probably Simo.
It's going to be big. There's going to be, you know,
your favourite comedian. So things you expect, some of
your favourite comics, some of your favourite team, your
regular. There's going to be things that
you don't expect. OK, maybe we have surprises.

(02:58):
OK, it's going to be a fun time.I want to get too much more
away. What I will say is we've
oversold the sort of theatre setup in the SSC.
We've made it even bigger. We've expanded it.
There'll be a point where we can't do that anymore.
If you want to come take it, you're in the description.
Go and take a master. Come see it.
If you want to watch any of the older podcasts, go to our
Patreon where we've just put up our Waterfront Hall episode with

(03:18):
Mickey Bartlett and William Thompson.
And coming up soon, we'll have just used to be a Patreon.
We'll have the waterfrontal episode with Evaluate Now Ryan
and what comedian stars in your eyes?
Yeah, before that. Stars in your eyes.
That's what we do over in patreonpatreon.com such TV
podcast. We've got the big specials,
which is also and we've also gotlike 1 offs and we do our our

(03:38):
Friday live stream and the bonusepisode called the Special Brew
that we do every Monday. This episode of the podcast, I
sit down with John Ellis, who isno exaggeration, taking this
sort of football content world by storm.
This is a guy from here, but like that prize guy, a guy from

(03:59):
here doing massive things. John quit his job, which which
we talk about in air traffic control.
He was living down in Cork and he had what did he say at that
point? The 7000 followers subscribers.
Yeah, when he handled his notice.
And 7000 subscribers. But he believed that he could he
could make headway and what he was doing and grow what he has.
And I just three million subscribers, fans all over the

(04:23):
world loving his content. He's got to work with some of
the biggest footballers in the world and don't don't listen to
this and go, I'm not into football.
I won't enjoy this podcast. Kind of what John was saying is
he's not someone who's his content isn't based on, you
know, when everything that's going on in the football world
or keeping up to date with it, he is making content that just

(04:44):
happens to you know, it's football content, but it's not.
You know, everything he does haslike a bit of heart behind it
and just such a such a down to earth guy who is a living the
dream is absolutely living the dream travel in the world
getting invited to this and not he's at the balloon door

(05:05):
ceremony. He's recently done videos with
Gareth Bale killing and Bob Bay Zinedine Zidane and he's just
what they say the million subscribers in August.
I think it was a million in August, so that's whatever like.
Six months, so just could have shouted to him for far longer
than we did. So hopefully he'll come back on.

(05:26):
He's absolutely brilliant. Please enjoy this episode of the
Tea with Me podcast with my guest, John Nellis.
It's just get the point where I don't know every player's name
and. What foot they use?
But I'm looking at some of the Subs going no one drown this by
me. How do you never heard this
guy's name? I think that's a sign that maybe
you're, you're getting older andlosing touch with football a

(05:47):
bit. Because I would have known like
every player, yeah, every team, even young players coming in by
from like Football Manager, I would have known, yeah, this
name and that name. But when 1 sneaks in, you're
like, yeah. Yeah.
Yeah, who's this guy? G Smith.
Yeah. Get ready for this right, We'll
start the episode in style. We were talking about mystery
football shorts here. Yes.

(06:08):
So recently this is I live for this shit, right I.
Thought you were ready to give me one live.
If you like this, I'll literallygive you it off my back.
We have it on it won't fit me but.
A couple of weeks ago. So I have, I have a big
collection of football tops and I have some that have given them
a sum as well. Now I remembered have a literal
treasure chest, a plastic treasure chest that we got in

(06:30):
home base, yeah, by 1994 filled with football shirts.
And I just collected my head andI went, that's in my DAS loft.
That's up in the loft. Did I get mouldier?
Perfectly fine. OK, because I was wearing the 95
red Man United top sharp. We count them back like.
Actual one. Authentic, authentic.

(06:52):
I have I have my own size when my wife got me from birthday
like five years ago, I count nowon the back and I was wearing it
and my son who's 4. I'm begging the money and I
didn't know got them. He doesn't know what shit.
Yeah, he he said, Daddy, I love it.
Will you get me that top? And I said don't sell them
anymore. I go that if I'm, I go if I'm
right here. That top in his size is in that

(07:14):
treasure chest and my dad's loftwith counting that 7 on the
back, Call it big Dennis, 75 years old.
Get up that ladder. He gets up a ladder, calls me
back. We've got it.
He brought a treasure chest of football tops to my house.
You're joking. When was this a?
Couple of weeks ago, that's class and within that treasure
chest Nigeria, Nigeria 2000. Looks like a golf top.

(07:40):
South Korea World Cup. Look at that.
What's on the back? Nobody.
No, that's class. I have a like, you know, from
when I was younger, I kind of, Ihad a wee Jimmy.
I was a chubby wee bastard. OK.
I was not changed, but no, I wasreally like a wee chunk.
And there's a full of me standing in the snow with like a
pair of black gloves on T-shirt.But it's the Jamaica.

(08:02):
Jamaica, like Kappa. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Like circa O3 type of time. Was it a?
Yellow yellowy shirt with a black collar.
Yeah. I think Tommy McCarthy wears
like a retro version. It's.
Came back in and I have a an OG for when we want it, but I had
actually the only kind of the throwback to old shirts.
Had a lovely moment very recently.

(08:23):
Here comes the first name drop of the episode.
So I and I was like when I was about what got me into football
was the 2002 World Cup. Yeah.
And I remember at that time. Was the same age.
I'm 313636 yeah geez, you look, you look 36 to look 44.
I was common one yeah. Anyway, no.
So I get into football when I was probably 8, umm, kind of

(08:48):
2001, 2002 World Cup, blah blah.And I, I lived in like the
Brazil top from that world. I think you said Brazil.
No wonder you've got a Brazil. Yeah, I lived in that Brazil top
for like, yeah. And it was my school uniform and
that Brazil top and I've two of them was.
It this one just yelling? Yes, yes.
But I two of them on rotation, Yeah.
Umm, because I worked so much. Yeah.
And Long story short, kept them for years, as I said, was a

(09:11):
chubby wee bastard. So it still fits me now.
Yeah, that's mad. But I went to do like a charity
game a few months ago and Roberto Carlos was playing and I
had the same Brazil top from when I was what, eight or nine
years old and brought it over and he signed it.
It's just one of those full circle moments on Real.
It was lovely. So I have it now squirted away.

(09:32):
I think we should definitely name drop loads throughout this
episode. Oh yeah OK do I get a name drop
password like no one listen? To me like.
This guy, he's an asshole. No, no, no people.
If you ask I'll be in drop but I'm not going to try and bring
every time. You so last time I saw you was
at the Lauren game me Michael and down there and you were

(09:52):
shooting a video there where I already have done the intro by
the way, for this episode. In case this feels mental,
there's just launching straight.Raw dog and.
Launching straight in and you were doing a video where you
were trying to meet and say hello to as many current or
former professional footballers.Yeah, it's 100 hours to meet 100
footballers. And you were like, ah, you know,
just so many people here don't know who's who.

(10:14):
You came to the Oracle of local former and present footballers.
You you picked out like 5 or 6 guys who were technically pros.
And I wasn't even looking at them.
I was literally just, I felt it.You just felt their presence.
Josh Robinson, Jeff Hughes, Albert Watson.
And you were like, I don't know what who you were planning to
meet, but I was like, don't worry.
This guy's five first team appearances for Carrick Rangers.
Come on, come on. Yeah, he's a sure.

(10:36):
But like, just like this guy, this guy, this guy.
Although like I'm not a game like I like everyone's probably
played like decent level football at some point.
I was introducing you to guys with knowing them.
I was like, he's probably playedfor someone.
But they're all like, Yep, I have, OK, you'll do because I
was like, I need a hundred of them, so.
I felt like a weird middle man. Yeah, you were.
No one wouldn't need that skill ever.
And like if you need a haircut, former Irish League players,

(10:57):
give me a shout. Yeah, no, you definitely helped
us take a few off the list. Sippers, let me take a quick 2nd
to tell you this episode of the Team Between podcast is
sponsored by our friends and none other than Better Help.
What's better than help? We're talking about relationship
green flags. You know, a lot of time people
talk about red flags. You know, a lot of content you
see online is people talking about my red flags.

(11:19):
This or this is a red flag in terms of things we should avoid.
But what are the things that we look for?
What are the green flags in friends and partners?
What, what is a green flag from me?
I mean, I like it when, you know, you make tea for someone
and they also make tea for you. I don't like getting into this
thing. What's like, it's always me

(11:40):
making the tea, but at the same time, I know that if I don't
make the tea, it's not going to be as nice.
But it's nice to share responsibilities like that, you
know? Sometimes you have to be a good
friend back and accept that their tea might be different to
yours. You're right and I say there's a
lovely cup of tea, but I do it with this face.

(12:01):
So I think green flags for me are are being able to listen are
sometimes, sometimes nice. You do you do some good.
Someone will say good job, that was a good job you did.
Good cup of tea. Good.
Hey, that's a nice cup of tea. Yeah, but whether you're dating,
married or building a friendshipor just working on yourself,

(12:24):
it's time to form relationships.Relationships that love you
back. Better Help is totally online.
You're going on someone. I don't like going to places,
you know, don't like going into places.
Talk about the feelings. Hey, this is online.
Doing a comfort your own home. It's affordable and convenient.
5 million people do it worldwide.
You can discover your relationship green flags with

(13:07):

Not just below the belt grooming, manscaped, they're
above the belt manscaped. Here's what I always say
manscape from your heels to yourhead.

The link is in the description. Back to the episode.
I was blown away by your abilityto just go and talk to anyone.

(15:08):
I think within reason, I can't. But the idea of just like
walking up, putting out your hand and getting that
conversation going, especially with the camera there, although
the camera is not in the person's face, it's quite
subtle. But the ability to do that.
I wondered when you started making videos and content and
going out and about, did that come to you straight away or
have you had to build build thatup?

(15:29):
That's a good, that is a good question because I've never been
asked that I liked. Like people ask me when I do all
the time. It's like, oh, YouTube or like
do you say content career influence or whatever it is.
But sometimes if I'm feeling a bit funky and having a bit of
fun, I'll say, oh, I do rejection therapy for a living.
Because it is, yeah. Like I literally do weird shit
for a living and ask people stuff.
That's it. It's I naturally I'm quite a

(15:51):
chill guy. Like I'm really not this big,
like hey, what's going on? Like personality.
But I think The thing is like when the camera's on and I know
it's a good video and typically I'm doing quite nice things with
people. I'm asking people questions.
It's probably going to lead to them either end meeting a
footballer or winning a prize orgoing to a match or something
nice. Most of the time I don't really
do stuff that's like, there's nopunching 9, there's no mile

(16:13):
intent, there's no making the deck out of people.
Yeah, which makes it a lot easier, like to go and knock a
door because it's like I'm knocking their door to see if
they want to come to a football match.
Yes, I'm knocking their door because I want to give them
something. Yes.
But yeah, I think at the start it was a lot harder whenever,
you know, I think I did my firstsort of stuff like that in
public when I maybe had two or three thousand subscribers.
And I think what content creators is now, and everyone

(16:35):
can relate to this is everyone can relate to this.
We all know someone like locallyor in our life who's like, oh,
they think they're we content creator.
Look at them making these cringe.
Yeah, I was that guy. Well, what to do it at any
level, you have to have been. You have to have been doing it
at a point where nobody was watching or whatever.
Exactly. And everyone at the time thinks
that God, look at this Egypt. Yeah, but then it gets to the
point where you get enough subscribers where it's like

(16:57):
somebody's doing class. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
It's. This weird thing you have to
kind of battle through the the cringiness of it all.
Yes, definitely. At the start, it was harder, and
you've got the people and it'd be like, they give you the time
and like, what's your challenge? You'd show them and they'd be
like, Oh yeah, you know, Whereasnow it's like, what?
Yeah, yeah, you know, yeah, which is nice.
Do you remember your first? What was the first thing you
were? What's the first video you were

(17:17):
doing where you were going up the people and trying to make
something happen? So going up the people that to
approach them in public? Because I remember the first
videos I saw from you, you were sort of in your house talking to
camera. Yeah, you know, some graphics.
Yeah. So then what was the first one
where you went out? It was.
It was in like the summer of 2022.
We kind of sounds like a song you.

(17:39):
Know it sounds like it's kind ofgetting into a really deep story
here. We we realised that like short
form content was a big thing forus and we went out in the
streets of Cork. We asked people basically guess
the player's price in fantasy football and you went in cash.
I wasn't given like most hours, like 13 million.
I wasn't given another 13 million.
We got like €13.00 right. But that was the first thing

(18:00):
walking around asking people like what's his price in FPL and
then if they get it right, give him the money.
That was the first thing we did.And was that no.
Was that were you nervous doing that?
I was a bit. I think it's very different when
you do it at home as well. Yeah, it going out and doing it
in like London or whatever it's,I don't really care.
Manchester or Liverpool, you see, like today I'm gonna have
to go and shoot something in Belfast because I try and stay

(18:20):
at home a bit more now so. I'd be more nervous with that.
It's a bit more, I don't know, it's a bit like it's home.
I think we're more awkward people anywhere, like in London,
no one bats an eyelid. You're filming in the street.
But we still have that thing of,like, what's going on there?
Yeah. People stop and look, whereas in
those other cities, it's just nothing to them.

(18:41):
Yeah, there's so much going on. Everyone's doing it in those
cities. I don't know as well.
I feel it's like I can go over there and I come home and then
I'm home. Or is it when I'm doing it at
home? It's like, yeah, making an agent
out of myself. And you might see someone you
vaguely know or whatever, and they're like, why are you doing
this? They all, they know what I do if
I know them. Yeah, mind that.
Honestly, it's actually it's gotmuch easier now that I'm bigger
because neither have more followers and more views and

(19:02):
more people recognise me. If I just go and pitch up
outside Victoria Square, the chances are a few people come
over and say. They're coming to you as well.
Once they come to me, I say how you can get a photo, no worries.
But here, can I get you for a video?
Yeah, and it means I'm actually doing a lot less, like cold
approaching. Yes, which is nice.
Have you done one where you you had this idea where you're like,
brilliant, this will be great. You go out and film it and it

(19:23):
just does, yeah, like wasted footage.
We've we've came like scarily close to wasted, like wasted
days. But like thankfully we haven't
yet. The worst video I'd say we've
made, I think it's it's came together nicely, but the closest
we ever got to that was, you know, and this was a big
learning curve for us in terms of like pre production and like
come up the idea and just it wasall puppies and rainbows and we

(19:44):
thought it would be amazing. We were like right face your
fear, win VIP football tickets class because you have to face a
fear. It's great.
And then like that actually we were like, what can you do?
We looked up in London like swimming with sharks.
So you go swimming with sharks and an aquarium over there as
you do so then we're out walkingaround like the Westfield
shopping centre being like right, here's what we'll do.
We'll ask people what's your biggest fear?

(20:06):
Someone's going to say sharks because everyone scores sharks
when they say that. We say right, we'll go swim with
sharks and then you'll get AVIP ticket and they'll go, oh, I
really want the ticket. I'll go and swim with a shark
and they'll be really scared. Reality is they were more scared
of like poverty and failure. Everyone.
I swear to God no one was scaredof sharks.
It wasn't one person who said shocks.

(20:28):
I was like, I'm scared of poverty arms.
I'm scared of let my parents down and I'm like, man, and I
was having to go. Then what about animals like
lions? Scared of going to the gym?
Yeah, you're sitting there. Literally.
It was answers like that all dayand then I was like, but we were
in the place as well. We're like, it was right to say
West Ham Stadium. It was West Ham, Man City, and

(20:48):
everyone already had a ticket. Right.
So it's like everyone who was there was there to go to the
game. So they all had tickets anyway.
Yes. And no one was scared of sharks.
And I ended up one stage. I was like, you scared of it?
And they're like, and I'm whatever, they're probably
honestly, I'm joking. Everyone said like poverty,
there's a yeah or hunger or something, right?
What about an animal? I don't know and I said maybe

(21:10):
something in the ocean and she went I don't know.
I said sharks. No, I'm not scared of sharks.
Probably wheels. And I'm like anyway, ended up
finding the guy like I mean likeclutch end of the day stopped
approaching just started shouting is anyone scared of
sharks? Does anyone want to go to the
match? And this guy is like, sorry,

(21:31):
what are you doing? And then met him and he but like
he didn't, he was just out for agood day.
Like he didn't. He wasn't really scared of
sharks, yes. And he didn't really give a shit
about the football. But also, who are these people
who are not really scared of? Sharks, I know like.
It doesn't spend. I don't spend a large part of my
day thinking about sharks, but Iam scared of them like.
If I told you there's one, if someone told me there's one

(21:53):
shark in like Murloc Beach, likehe mills around in like a 10
miles square radius and he mightbe there, I'd never get in ever,
ever, ever, ever. No.
So I don't get people who go swimming in like Australia or
surfing. I think they are mental.
I went swimming in Australia on Bondi Beach and I was just
swimming out and there's quite alot of people there, but it

(22:14):
wasn't packed. It's like a Tuesday morning.
Went swimming out and I was like, God, this is class, what a
beach. And then there was a moment
where I stopped swimming and just was treading water for a
while and then I went, well, notfar.
I went, what the fuck am I doing?
Yeah, who do I think I am? Yeah, that's why I'm back.
But I was trying not to like flop, you know, So it took me a
long. Time.
So I just like. Floated back in so but I am

(22:36):
scared of sharks. But I guess in London as well,
you've more more important things to worry about, like the
guys on more pairs of steel phones.
With knives, Yeah. Like if I said, you know, now
like what are you scared of right now?
It's pretty not sharks because we're not really going to
encounter one. No here.
But if I said do you like like you'd be pretty fucking scared
one if it was in a bath with theeffect. 1000% or a swimming.

(22:58):
Pool when he bought a water I wouldn't terrify we're going to
be able to just. Sit and enjoy the ambulance of
the bath like. Anything in the homework I also
I can think of very few things worse because you're literally
like like a fish out of water still the way around.
I can think of something worse. You haven't had the immersion on
long enough. You've got in the bath, you run
it. You're.
Not enough enough water in the bath.
So you keep on the top it up andyou're, you know, your dad I'd

(23:21):
bring up, but you know the kettle.
How much really how much? What are you getting in that
kettle? So and then and then and then if
a shark were to appear, it's just the worst after at that
point, it'd probably just be open to it.
I mean like. Throw the toaster in, baby.
Eat me. Yeah.
Yeah, I'm done. Eat me.
So I say what you mean where like you want, you have a
specific goal of like they say this, then I will be able to do
this. But if they don't say this,

(23:42):
you've got to like crowbar it. Yeah, crowbar it in.
But I think like then like we did because that was early days
and I mean even like, I'm not sure when I say, you see booking
the like shark swimming thing. I'm paying £500 for VIP tickets
out of her own pocket. That was like a big outlay for
us. Oh, I.
Didn't know you're you're. I assumed you've got some sort
of hookup, or you were. Able no, not that video that
that was early days. I mean, the video was still did

(24:03):
all right at the time, but like,I don't know, it was a big risk
for us, whereas now I think we're a bit more savvy.
I am like I work very closely with a guy called Alex like 5050
on ever and he's the guy behind the camera, the brains, the
editor does all the sexy stuff. I'm just the idiot on the camera
who does the rejection therapy. But we now whenever we have an

(24:24):
idea, I'm much more like Debbie Downer about it and pessimist
and be like, well, here we know the reality is because he'll
have an idea. It's like we're going to go and
we're going to meet 100 footballers.
He had that idea a week before and I was like, there's no
mission. We're ever meeting 100
footballers. How on earth we meet 100
footballers, 100 hours. It's not even possible.
We have no contacts. We don't have and we just sent
them. We did it and I think through

(24:45):
doing it as well, we made a lot more contacts we can now go back
to because we forced ourselves to go out and be LinkedIn
warriors and meet people and make new relationships.
But all that said, now we just, I think we're a bit more savvy
as to what the reality of situations is when back then it
was all, as I say, sort of the. First, the first thing I
remember seeing you doing kind of out of out of the bedroom if

(25:06):
you like is sounds weird was theLiverpool video where where you
wrapped doors all. Around I was big was the. 1st
And you brought the guy over. I thought that was beautiful.
Like it was, really. Just that was it was.
Nice being able to do something really nice for someone who
appreciate it was you're wrapping doors and basically
being like come and play it. I'm feeling coming up a kick
about it was a guy who if, correct me if I'm wrong, but

(25:28):
hadn't been out of the house much and haven't been having a
good time. Yeah.
And just being able to deliver like it's great when you're, of
course, when you're like, do youwant to come and see a VIP match
or? Whatever.
Yeah. And it's just, you know, it's in
every man in the street. But when it's someone who like
needs it and you can see him what it means, then that's
great. That's the best.
Of I and they say you can't you can't really like you can, but

(25:49):
we don't like pre write that in a sense or like look for that
person. Yeah, I don't I what I the line
I always tread so carefully is like the virtue signal line.
Like I want to do nice things and I want to be the nice guy,
but I'm not walking up the homeless people giving them
football tickets because that just looks like I'm a virtue
signal and prick. However, for that video, for

(26:09):
example, it's like we have this once in a lifetime experience to
play downfield. I've done it twice just to be a
prick, but no, like because the brands get it every year.
Yes, but The thing is that even just I've done it twice.
How mad that I'm not even a mad Liverpool fan.
Yeah, How have I done that twice?
Yeah, there's people out there who would literally give you a
bollock to do that. Yes, and I've done it twice.

(26:29):
Yeah. So like with that logic, I'm
like, I can just go and play it on field and be like, I played
it on field and make a video. Who gives a fuck?
I'm like, who would want this the most?
And it's like a Liverpool fan, right?
I know a few, but I'm like were if we wanted to knock doors,
were we knocking on Anfield Roadright outside the stadium?
And it was just like, it just felt right.
And we did it. And it was the first sort of
touch of like proper virality from a long form we've had.

(26:52):
And it did just help that it waslike we got lucky and the guy we
found, great guy, still in contact with him.
But like he needed that, you know, he needed, he needed that.
And it was a lot of stuff that happens on camera, but like
doesn't make the video because you want to be sensitive to
that. But like he really needed that
even more than the video probably portrays.

(27:13):
But that is and it sounds so sappy.
And again, it sounds so virtually singly and it drives
me insane because I'm trying to tread that line so carefully.
But like, that is why I do what I do.
And like why? What we do is when I get all
this cool experiences and cool stuff and meeting them Bappe,
I'm not just going doing 5 videos about being myself and
pissing off. It's like right, who's the
French guy I know who can I bring to me the best yes.

(27:34):
Or like you know. I know a wee guy who really, it
would mean a lot to him to play at Old Trafford.
A wee guy. Oh, is he you?
I know a wee guy. Old Trafford, right.
OK, I'll keep that one the memory.
Bank. I've done the tour.
You've never played in the pitchthough.
Here's the problem though. I'll be honest with you.

(27:54):
See, if I brought you, people won't care a lot.
They'll think you're big enough to go and play yourself.
They will care. That no, but they'll be like.
People will. Also, we brought an alert he
brought, he brought she in touch.
You'll find a lot of you'll finda lot of problems in the world
or. Sorted out.
Go away from. You by get to play at all
Trafford, right? It will.
People will love it. Because here's the thing, will.
You cry for me on camera. You're exactly yours that people

(28:17):
wouldn't care if I was just I guess doing it on nonchalant top
hitting a few top corners. Just a few, Trafford.
What you'll see when I'm talkingabout the football top side of
the kid in the treasure chest oftops, you'll see that in my
face. I won't be cool.
I won't be cool. I won't just be this class.
I'll be like, giddy. I'll be giddy.

(28:38):
I'll be hyper. Yeah.
You know, I need to be teased atsome point to be taken out of
there. I won't know.
You should. Say that actually I have a
blindfold here for you. That would have been good,
actually. Imagine I'd surprise a new year
now. Oh no, I would don't fun.
I would like. You let him in, I'd say.

(28:58):
I I there's stuff like I can meet any comedian in the world
and it's all right. It's relatively normal.
You know it's but I don't get even if someone I'm a massive
fan of it, just it I can, I'm composed.
You know, it's it's not not really a big deal.
I'm making you nervous. You're making me nervous right
now because you have the power to get me to Old Trafford.

(29:20):
But if I was in a situation likethat, yeah, I lose my mind.
We we played them. I saw you play against the The
Man United Legends I. I'm losing my mind.
I would have. Loved an invite to that, but she
didn't get me more of those, didyou?
We. I wasn't wrong on that, I that
was. AI wasn't wrong on the pitch
dead Old Trafford either. But you are now that was a we we
actually talked about that on the pod recently where that was

(29:42):
like a charity day and there waslike kind of three teams playing
against the United Legends. So there was like 3 thirds the
game basically. And then I showed up and I was
like, guy goes, we'll have you done for the comedians team.
I was like, yeah, I'm playing for all the teams against, you
know, legends. He's like, I will get your game.
I was like, no, no, no, I'm going to start for all the I'm

(30:03):
not going to leave the pitch. So I just was I've run three
kids through it today. I loved it and it was see just
like did you set? The apps down as ours or
something? Look, Yap has had a great
career, OK, He's not pick Yap Stan.
I didn't set him that. I just kind of like there was a
point he sort of when I was going to no, he's planning

(30:26):
something else. I'm going to talk to you about
that. We do want you involved with.
So I can't talk it up too much because he will fucking nail me
in this game. But yes, there was a moment
where I scored my goal. There was a moment where Yap
kind of like, I don't know, he just kind of, he's played
against great strikers before, but he just came that he didn't
fancy. I don't know whether.
You take a ball. No, I didn't even a sort of I

(30:49):
think he was he saw Thunderbolt when it was coming to me, right.
OK, but I did. I just nestled it right.
But he he thought like, here comes the hammer.
I. You know, saw those thigh
muscles. But that was one of the best
days of my life, really. We always play 1000% Borsky,
Yapstam. Where's Brown?
Keith Gillespie, Paul Parker, eh, Brian Mcclair.

(31:15):
So this is like my general, likewhen I first got into football
at the age my son is. No, they were the players,
really. Yeah.
So it was so good. And then we're going to sort of
announce this a little bit, but in May.
Or soft launch is. This let me check.
Can I guess you're going to tellit hard?
It's a semi launch. A semi launch.

(31:36):
OK, baby. What do you think I'm going to
tell you? You're going to tell me user
running some game at Windsor? Not Windsor.
We couldn't get Windsor. We are going to play at
solitude, solid solitude. Well, there you go.
Homo club whether united legendsgame was yeah which is perfect
because. I've just ruined that and you
whatever like you say how much you like these shoes were and

(32:01):
then. £400. Oh no, I've just come in with it
when you're playing. Against the 1990 United
Champions League and we're playing at solitude.
Class how many Cedars at? 4000 class roughly.
I was sold out and played the United Legends game and the

(32:22):
atmosphere is unbelievable. Perfectly included the Irish
League stadium, we're playing tea with me.
I'm not price guy or hosting a wee bit of A and we're hosting a
bit of a local soccer and I would say.
Yep. And Tommy, which is a local
mental health charity that's like the use of sport to support

(32:45):
mental health. We're putting together a bit of
a team. They're putting together a
Premier League Legends team and we're going to have a podcast
team with with that Price guy. Previous guests are going to
play against Premier League 11. Now I can't I'm not giving
anything away. All say is Todd Stan Ding Ding

(33:08):
run two. OK.
And it's not just Man United Legends, Premier League Legends.
And what I'm saying is, now thatyou've been a guest on the pod.
And eligible. You're eligible.
You're available to play. I'm eligible.
You're available to play. I am.
There's only one problem. I'm fat, I am.
I am not great at football. See these both See these legends

(33:30):
1st 20 minutes are unbelievable.They they gas.
They gas out. So bring me on us for 20
minutes. So here's what I'll say to you.
I'm getting married in June and I am going to be doing this
whole 75 hard thing. Yeah.
I'm thinking of doing like 75 mildly.
It's difficult. 75 like something.
Yeah, 75 easy. But I do.
I want to lose a lot of weight by just.

(33:51):
So I might be a good neck by theend of May.
Listen. And I'll tell you to be mixed.
I want to be a goalkeeper. Is there a problem?
You've got 1 pencil in. Eh, well, you can.
That guy can play upfront. My goalkeeper.
Half, I'll go upfront, then I'llgo on goals, will flip, flip

(34:11):
flop. I'm trying to make myself a bit
of a goalkeeper. You can't imagine you just you
tip on over from insert name of Premier League players plan
Yeah. I'd be, I'd be happy to.
I do run for the team to be honest with you.
You're not, and then you're going to play.
It from amazing, so I'll save them and then I'll score them or
I'll do the opposite. What was it was like the head
did the thing where you like LED11 penalties in and I apparently

(34:32):
shoot out and then missed his. Was it the hair who did that
like last season? Did you see David James doing, I
think it was at Anfield that cando you see this?
It was like a kid. It's like a young fan who I'm
not 100% sure but might have hada disability and that's why he
was there and was to take a penalty past former Liverpool

(34:55):
goalkeeper David James, who's probably put 50 now.
And the kid got love him. His first penalty, bottom
corner, decent head David James just pass it, tips it past the
poster like OK, David, he take another one here.
All right, David boom smashes itaway.
Didn't score. The most famous one that's
Oliver Khan and like 2008 was kids were taking penalties

(35:17):
against them to raise money for charity.
Everyone they scored, he saved every one of them.
That's also like we put your mind of do you remember the
Michael Owen Neville South Hall video?
It's like AI think it's for Umbro maybe, or I'm not sure
what it, but Michael Owens pretty young time.
He's maybe just got into the Liverpool team that sort of era.
I'm Neville Southall, the formerEverton keeper is coaching like

(35:41):
a young teenage goalkeeper and the kids are like you can tell
maybe he plays for a Saturday team.
But Neville says looking moise pointers and he's saving shots
from Michael Owen and Michael Owen is like banging them in but
like talking out loud in the kids head.
He's like yes, bottom corner strike.
He just keeps going and Neville says falls like Oh well, what is
he says when he puts one in he'slike well done Michael.

(36:03):
He's 13. He keeps roofing the men.
But we would love to have you aspart of it.
That would. Be I would love to be that would
be genuine because the. Balls of that kind of thing is
like honestly, when I when I play in those my I've been I
want to talk to you about games you played in and time you've
been able to do that sort of stuff.
But like even from I'm the firstone I did was against Lemphi

(36:23):
legends and because I love Irishleague football, I pinch myself
to I'm like, this is surreal. Yeah, and that would the
Liverpool legends up in Newry City And then I get such a buzz
from I get such a buzz. Umm, So what was the 1st thing
you got? You got invited to be part of
whether it was a kick about or yeah, going to an event.

(36:44):
What was the first one? We were like God, this is.
The first thing there wasn't even football related though.
Is this a? Football question?
No. No it doesn't.
Need to be because the first thing that I was like a wee bit
out of my depth so weirdly was aGary Vaynerchuk interview.
You know Gary, Gary Vee, he. Stole remember a couple of weeks
after we started tea with me, hestarted tea with V Did he?
And I said, listen, Gary, No, hedidn't respond.

(37:05):
But I said Gary, I tweeted out. I tagged him.
I said, Gary, you watch yourself, but it can only be 1.
He would be last about two weeks.
He got the message or he moved on.
Yeah. He probably got the message.
He got a bit scared, yeah, But yeah, I actually had a podcast
years ago about like fantasy football and it was run by

(37:26):
Vayner Media or like Vayner X orsomething.
So like his company? Called 1:37 PM.
It's one of his companies. And then through that they were
like, oh, you want a 30 minute interview with Gary type of
thing. So I rock over to the New York
office and go in and I'm sittingin his way office talking to
Gary Vee. But it was the first time I'd
encountered. Like before you'd done like, I
mean the camera stuff. I was, I was into that game.

(37:47):
So rare. I've played like the NFT.
It was during the NFT boom. Were you in New York at the
time? I went over to New York for it.
I was over for something else. I went to Miami to go to like a
match and whatever, but I went to New York for a couple of days
and met big Gary Vee. But that was a weird one because
it was just like the thing, the thing that gets me is I don't
really get starstruck, thankfully.
And that's just luck of the draw, You know, I could have.
It's not like me trying to be cool.

(38:08):
I really don't. I know what you mean.
Yeah, like I actually. Just don't really.
It's like, how's it going mate? The thing that I do get nervous
about though is like the gravity, gravity, gravity,
gravitas, gravitos. What's the word the size of an
opportunity? What's the word?
Is there a word with gravitas? Gravitas of a situation where
it's like Gary Vaynerchuk, who'slike the biggest grinder and
hustler in the world and he's always at it and he never stops.

(38:30):
If anyone listen doesn't know what that was, that was me doing
is. Actually, I know it was actually
quite good. It wasn't bad, but it's like
he's took half an hour to his super busy schedule and he's
worth millions to talk to me. And it's like if you just go in
and fumble it and talk shit, I don't know.
It's just like it's more like you don't want to waste his time
or like when I did the Mbappe thing, it's like the size of the

(38:53):
opportunity. It's like I have like 7 minutes
of getting in Bappe. If you fuck this up, like the
contents crap, you're never getting in Bappe again.
You'll never get other. But you need.
This needs to be the sort of proof case to other players and
other clubs. I can deal with this, so it's
more like the the size of the situation that scares me than

(39:14):
the. Part Gary be was Gary be cool.
He was really nice, really friendly, really present.
That was what I'd say about him.He was very present.
Look me in my eyes for 30 minutes and talk to.
Me, I've had that before. It's like very successful people
or very well known people where they do lock in for a short
amount of time and in that time you feel like nothing else in
their universe exists bar you. It's that ability to make you

(39:36):
feel like you're the most important person.
Yeah. And then it's like done.
Go to a lot of events and stuff in the whole like networking,
but you're walking on, you're talking to people, the worst
people. The people here like looking
over your shoulder. Yes, yes.
They're talking to you, but they're not really they're
they're looking around who they're looking for someone.
Else Zimbabwe thing. Zidane was probably the one I

(39:59):
was most like. It's a damn.
Like that's the one I would havepicked if.
I know my awkward meetings and on story, but I haven't told
it's it's funny. So meets Zadan there, but it's
like kind of like a wee. How's it going?
Nice to meet you thinking there's about six of us standing
around. He's 2 agents with him, me, my
camera guy and one other and he only speaks French and Spanish.
So they're sitting there kind ofchittering away and whatever

(40:20):
else and I'm kind of catching a few words, but they're only like
who do you support? So someone's telling Zadan who
to support and whatever one comearound to me and whatever else.
And then I kind of at the end ofwhat I'm like, we're trying to
again, like, not do the whole like starstruck thing and acting
like he's gone, I think. Who do you support?
Yeah, asking Zadan who supports. And he's just like, you just
look like Real Madrid. Yeah, I was like, Oh yeah, yeah,

(40:47):
of course. I was kind of thinking more
like, we local, you know, him togo like Glen Horne, Lisburn, the
story. But no, I just felt like a deck
in the world. But then I think people like
that probably appreciate more ofa human set.
Like, yeah, appreciate you. Sure, if you're a bit nervous,
they say it. It's better than just being like
like you say like trying to be cool or anything like that.

(41:08):
But in not like the only time I've had maybe something like
that, I've done a lot of stuff in the Northern Ireland team and
that's different because is way more laid back.
You're not like someone's like when you've 7 minutes with these
guys. It's fine.
They just chat to you've met them a lot of times anyway.
So it's easy. But Matt Hummels when Germany

(41:28):
were here playing, we had like acase of like you have 5 minutes,
get over here now you 5 minutes with him and I and I exactly
that feeling you had of like don't fuck this up.
Make every question hit, establish a connection with them
fast as well. And I love that.
I love the adrenaline of it as well.
With someone like say Killian and Bobby, is it like cold as in

(41:51):
are you sort of like brought in,you're like 5 minutes, set the
timer or are they good at? It, it depends what can be.
It depends. There's situations where like I
know when I was at Milan Player Access, who was, it was a
Benicer, someone's agent. It was literally like because
you're told you have 5 minutes with five players, blah blah,

(42:12):
someone will come in and I'll begrand.
Some of them you might only use 4 minutes of them, you might
take six. We try and be strategic with it,
where the last thing is the hardest thing for them to walk
away from to an extent because they'll probably be enjoying it
and I want a finger. Trap, yeah.
But I. Don't, said Chinese finger trap.
Is that what that is? I don't even know.
Yeah, probably. But sometimes you will get major

(42:36):
going like that's your time, time, time and you'll be mid
shot. It's like, well, I thought he
was dead. Other times it's so if it's with
so like for example, the Mbappe thing was through the brand so
rare. So how that works is so rare.
Have paid probably an extortion amount of money for two hours or
4 hours or something of Mbappe'stime.
He rocks in with millions. I don't know.

(42:58):
I, I think it would be millions. It's not just for his time, it's
for the brand association and for yeah, yeah, yeah, I imagine
it's millions. Anyway, the he rocks up and it's
probably like, right four hours.Their agent's probably on it.
But The thing is then it's all like so rare to police how they
use their four hours. So they shot a commercial, they
got them to sign stuff. They got photos of them for
their brand. They got this.
And within that it was like, John, you're getting 5 minutes

(43:19):
right now. Once you get going, it's harder.
Like if they're like this is good shit, they're not going to
be like, let's call this becausethey're not the age and it's
like good for them too, yes. So it depends.
But the beauty with what we do is, and this goes across the
board with player access. I think players are jaded and
done with what's your goal? What's your biggest moment?

(43:41):
Who's your favourite player I'veever played Asda Box.
They're media trained. They'll do the same stuff if
you're going to have them fun, for example in Bap Bay.
I haven't watched that video or anyone doesn't have a clue what
I'm on about. Basically I blindfolded a guy
for like 8 hours and he took it off.
He sat like this for killing Mbappe for 5 minutes.
So Mbappe isn't used to having people kidnapped in a blindfold

(44:01):
in front of them. So he walked in the door and it
wasn't our time but we positioned ourselves at the door
so he'd walk in and he'd seen him and he was like what's this?
You're like went over him, his tickle on his chin and shake his
hand with a blindfold. I'm like what the fuck?
I'm like, this is crazy and he thought it was fun.
And then because he thinks it's what everyone in the room is
like, this is fun, you know whatI mean?
And they're all like, this is great.
So then he went over and did alltheir stuff and then when it was

(44:23):
our time to go over, he's like, this is great, right?
What are we doing? And he was bought in.
He's like, this is class and like, I think if we do player
access with anyone, our thing istypically fun.
We'll try and have fun. It's a better crack.
It's a game. It's a surprise.
It's making someone's day. It's Anton Gries when dying my
hair. It's it's something fun.
But they're they'll remember or they'll be like, that wasn't

(44:46):
like workout wasn't bollocks media training.
And that stands you in such goodstep because they they see you
again and there's loads of people trying to get in a chat
with them or whatever they go, there's that guy that did that.
Thing, That weird thing. Or they tell a teammate.
Yeah. Or viewing with this guy today.
What? Happened the other day.
I can't name dropping, here we go.
But like honestly, this happenedthe other day and I remember
thinking exactly what you're saying.
So Kobe mainly United. I kidnapped the taxi driver.

(45:11):
I've usually got a taxi driver. Long story short, finally
supported United, got him to drive his state location, asked
him to put a blindfold on, walked him into a building.
He sat there. When he took it off, he sat with
Kobe. Man news favourite player.
Kobe thought that was hilarious.Thought it was funny.
I happened to be over progressedat the United SVSFFCSB game.
The progress team and Cobby's walking out and I'm there with

(45:33):
like, you ever doing something? So I'm like trying to shake
hands. The players walk out and he
comes over and he's like, what'shappening, man?
Like how's things? And ah, and there's just that
report. He remembers you were false.
You're not just some journalist who had the microphone up and
asked them like. Yes, where do you want to be?
In five years, probably, yeah. Yeah.
So it is. It does stand you in good state,
I think. And you'll get sometimes after
the shoots, like the players will go and find you on
Instagram or whatever because they're like, he did something

(45:54):
fun, cool, different that. Our class is it when you get
when you get it, follow and you go, Oh yeah, look at that.
I won. I'll dropping him, umm, last
week and I didn't follow him. I'm an appreciator of him, but I
didn't even think the follow Evan Ferguson right in Ireland
just out of nowhere just drops afollow.
And I was like, Oh yeah, I just love, I just love nice.

(46:17):
I loved it so much because then in my I'm like, he's my mate
now. Yeah, yeah.
Oh yeah. Like, Oh yeah, yeah.
Game. Respect game, yeah.
But then I don't want to come across too strong and because I
liked one of his pictures and I was like no, no, no, just just
chill. Just chill.
Yeah, like straight away, yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
And I was going to do. I stopped myself dropping him,
you know? DM like we love for the season.

(46:39):
Brother. Yeah, I've been there.
The ghosted, Yeah. Yeah, keep your head up brother.
We we long move for you in January.
You'll be banging them in in no time.
You've got watching you. For years, kid, you're going
right to the top I. Don't think it's all instinct.
Make it all instinct. Don't overthink it.

(47:00):
I think like it is the we followand it's like kind of collect
them all like Pokémon. Do you know what I make my wee
guilty like thing that I get a kick out of now is a.
Blindfolded man. Blindfolded man, celebrities or
footballers, kids asking me for a photo or like, recognising me.
Yeah, that gives me a kick. Yeah.

(47:21):
This is the most attached from reality podcast anyone's ever.
Listened. But then not because then that's
the other. That's what we're saying about
players being like a checker deck.
Then the the parent or whatever is going to is then going to
take an interest in you of like or want to impress their kids by
Yeah. See your audience.
Probably a bit older, but I get pensioners.
I get loads of like probably 6 to 14 year olds coming up going

(47:42):
crazy at me. Yeah, but then if I go to the
pub, no one. Says right, right, right you're.
Probably you probably can't go for a pint because everyone's
like you're a funny guy. That's.
Not what they say. You're not really.
Handsome guy. No, I know, I know what you
mean. And I, I realised that my
demographics changed slightly because last week we did all

(48:03):
student union gigs for University of Ulster and I was
like, demographics changed the way.
But you know, I was looking at the audience like, oh, to me, to
you guys, sorry, I'm a 79 year old man.
You know, it's like, I've never had that before where I was
like, I think I said the phrase hello, young people want to walk
down. Oh, you know, my people.
Can I ask you before, because I want to go back a little bit as

(48:23):
well about how you got into this, but what player have you,
who's been the warmest player you've met, who's been someone
you've met, and when this guy isjust great.
Oh, there's a few like this is the got people always ask who's
the next player you've met. No one's been a deck like to the

(48:45):
point that the worst player I'vehad was still lovely.
But I remember the only reason I'd say was bad is it was Tango
in the Belly at Napoli. But he was lovely, you know what
I mean? He was lovely, but I rocked up
and the first thing he said to me was like, what time is this
done? I have to come pick up my
daughter. And I was like, oh shit.
I was like, Nah, it's 5 minutes. If he drives the way he runs,

(49:08):
just based on this time it spursit probably does take.
Him just to get your school yeahhe the action patches long off
guard by the way so quite often I'll like say something they're
like oh where you from and then they like for some reason give
you a bit of a by ball yes, but I said him verbatim.
I would I went tell you what time I give me 5 minutes and you
won't want to leave. It would be my new best mate.

(49:28):
Come on, we'll go and play some games here, be a bit of crack.
And he's like better crack. What does that mean?
Off you go. And he was great, lovely, very
present, out of a laugh. How'd she exceed later mate?
That's as bad as it's been. No one's been a Dick.
They've all been lovely. One who I'd say like I have like
a nice relationship with is Strohenya Pavlovich.
He plays for Milan now. He's starting centre back.
Last few games he's on the benchfor a while.

(49:50):
But I met him when I went to Salzburg and he was there.
But he's just this big lovely guy.
Very welcome. And I was just to be a YouTube
there pinging around their training ground asking people
stuff. And then we were waiting on a
taxi at the front and he was driving out going to like a
youth Game Match. We wanted.
He's going to the match. I said, yeah, he's like just
want a lift. And I said we've ordered an
Uber. He's like, I don't know where I
see you there, whatever. Went there and sort of chatted
him a bit. But like it was a nice kind of

(50:12):
another like not a full circle moment, but like I went to a
Milan game recently and at the end had like access in the pitch
and I went up to he was like, oh, what's happening?
And like during the EUR he was playing and I'd sort of mess and
be like, ah lad, seen you there. What a game.
And he's like replying like, youknow, just post.
I don't know. It's just like it felt like it
feels like a nice real, yeah, yeah thing that's not just like

(50:32):
transactional, you know, where it's like you come, you make
content, you fuck off. It's nice whenever it's like, Oh
no, I'm just a guy too, yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
So Pavlovich is probably the onewho have like a soft spot for.
I find out with like I think when I've have done like support
or warm up for big name comedians, you people go like,
who's a Dick? Yeah.

(50:54):
It would, it's boring how lovelyeverybody is, you know, And
they're probably successful because they are good people.
They're nice people. Umm, I assume like someone gets
into what you're doing, they, you know, maybe you do a
journalism degree, you come fromthat kind of background and it's

(51:14):
a, it's a very obvious transition into what you're
doing, but you're, you're bringing in planes and Cork
airport. I was, yeah, no Runway 35 kid.
Now, did you? Were you like the guy with the
you didn't? Do it.
You did it with this. No, you can tell why I got
sacked from City Airport. Did you work?
There no. But look, I don't make.
Yeah, but you? Were you the guy on the ground?

(51:43):
No. Were you up at Europe?
The guitar, yeah, yeah. It's telling them to take off
land, turn right, climb, descend, all that stuff.
Did you love that? I did genuinely love that.
I wouldn't. There's no job on this planet
I'd rather do for someone else. I just YouTube kind of took it
started off as we said thing andit got too big to kind of not

(52:05):
just go into it full time. But what was the point where you
realised you couldn't do both? World Cup 2022, it was actually
before that. To be honest with you, I left my
job. I the thing with air traffic
control within Ireland is, I've said this before in podcasts,
but it's like people have jobs. Like my partner, she's an
engineer, chemical engineer. If she leaves that job in a few

(52:28):
issues, go back, yeah, might be a bit harder, but she'll get
recruited, she'll go. Somewhere you're in that sector.
Yes, you're title. Can just go back.
You see with air traffic controlin Ireland, basically what
happened was everyone was getting trained they're all
going off to Dubai or the MiddleEast to make a fortune and then
they were coming back and the Irish aviation three were having
to train them twice. We're training them when they
arrive and they were retrain them when they.
Come back why things cheat like.Things change policy,

(52:48):
procedures, ratings, which is like your qualification lapses,
loads of things. We're getting retrained.
And also they were losing staff and then having to recruit
staff. And basically they just said, I
don't even, I don't think it said on the books, but it's a
blanket rule. It's like you go, we will never
take you back. Basically meaning like if you
come here, you're here and if you go away, we're not taking
you back. I'd just go on, but we're not
taking you back. So that kind of meant like if I

(53:10):
leave here, I'm done, you know, because you can't to come and do
it in the UK, for example, unless you go to like a private
airport and like jobs might be might come up that often, you
might have to go back and train and start a lower salary.
Long story short, me leaving, I'm done.
I hand it in my notice one no one leaves because of that by
the way yeah, jaw breaks or anything.
No one leaves like no one. A few more are starting to
leave. But anyway, 100 a minute was one

(53:33):
of like 7000 subscribers and that was mental yeah like that
was mental, yeah mental, but no one leaves.
So whenever I did that, they were like, we'll give you half
time like we'll give you like a split thing or whatever yeah,
split shifts or whatever it is. Can you?
Start a mutiny. Pretty much honestly, I kind of
started and everyone was like, OK, maybe if I say I'm going to

(53:53):
leave they'll give me that. But I did that then for a
further six months and then I handed him a notice on like the
20. The straw that broke the camel's
back was they rostered me for Christmas and it was the first
Christmas they'd ever rostered me for.
Now you could argue you were dueone then, but the reality is
that there are people who were willing to work Christmas
because you don't really have togo in.
They're from Cork, it's double time deliver on the corner,

(54:16):
they're essentially on call for the morning.
Just don't have a few drinks themorning in your suite.
So I never had to work at Christmas because my whole
family's up here. So I it would always be like
send the boys from the north home.
People in Cork will work it. They won't really have to work.
Look at double time. We're happy the time off,
they're happy the double time. I got rostered Christmas Eve,
Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year's Day.
I just went Nah, fuck that. I handed him a notice on the

(54:38):
24th of October so that I could walk out on Christmas Eve and be
done. So I was.
Stringer reverse Santa. Yeah, one in, one out high 5.
That's funny. Is Ireland air traffic control a
little bit more laid back? No, no, no, I totally air.
Traffic, I'd imagine we were more casual with it, you know?
No, I think it's it's. It won't runway Milan.

(55:00):
You're like, you just find a space, brother, Yeah.
Brother, it is kind of like, no,it's, it's very, it's very
uniform globally, to be quite honest with you.
There's a lot of very it it English is used globally for air
traffic control, and it's just like the same words and the same
structures and the same way of communicating you.
Ever, like, is it ever like a movie where like there's little

(55:22):
calls coming? You're like, we've got to do
this. Go there like.
It's it's a fucking hectic job. Yeah, they could genuinely is
stressful at times. Like it's umm, it's, it's what I
would say is, you know, people who work in jobs and they've got
4000 emails coming in a day. That's a chronic stress.
And they're getting calls from their boss at 9:00 at night and
they're having to sort this out in deadlines.
That's like a chronic stress. Air traffic control's like when

(55:43):
I'm not at work, I don't think about it.
I don't care about it. No one rings me.
No one messes me. I don't care.
You see, when I walk in and plugmy wee headset in, you're like
in, yeah, yeah. And you're in for hours.
Now, if that's in the winter andthere's no flights, you just
chill. You might just be chilling.
But all the time you're sat in work maybe 10% of the time is
like relatively stressful. You're busy. 1% of the time is
like holy people could die you. Know it's.

(56:05):
Stressful, but that's like 1% ofyou're working on.
It's very rare. I'd be fucking terrible at that.
Job. Yeah, Not about it.
Man, I can't concentrate on anything like no.
I love gaming, right? It's kind of like a game in that
the stakes are pretty high, don't get me wrong, but like
it's, it's flips around the screen.
Don't make them hit each other. It's like a game.

(56:27):
You can't just like exit and notsave it.
You know, yeah, you can't just restart.
I can't like, like I've never owned the console in my life.
How weird's that I don't have the.
It's strange to game. I can't game.
You said you play Football Manager.
That's on the piece on the mark, but I mean like I can't like.
You can't hold the control. You've got an issue with.

(56:49):
Thoughts. Game like this, don't you?
Yeah, because people like headset on like that's gaming
Football Manager. So I'll only play Football
Manager if I'm on like a long trip, say, like when I was going
to Dubai there, I'd play in the plane there and back.
Eh, because it just hit like I get bored on planes or I'm going
to America March, I'll just playFootball Manager.
Yeah, every time I'm flying. But you know, I don't have the

(57:11):
heads. I'm, you know, it's a
gentleman's game. Yeah.
Fine gentleman's game, but I was.
No audio really. Is there no new plug in?
I've heard of people putting audio on for the matches in it,
but to me that's like that's a bit perverted.
I just have like a podcast goingon.
I'm just, I'm playing and I don't, I don't care about the
matches. I just want to like, I want to
run the club. I want to make sure the finances

(57:33):
are in order. I find it to to in the weeds or
something. And it's very.
And I kind of didn't play it growing up and then tried to
download it like two or three years ago and it was like, you
know, like hire an assistant coaches and this is a nuts.
And like, I just thought it was like too much to take in.
I always needed like a baby tutorial and build it up.
See, I look for a club I'm I look for a club legend like the

(57:55):
bringing the system manager, because then I can say to the
boys like listen, respect them, you know.
Does it work like that in the game though?
No, there's no function where they appreciate you've done
that, but. In your head.
But it's all in my head. In the game, it's all in my
head. Like there's there's things I'll
be like I'm saying this to the boys, but you can't say it.
I there's no function say it in the game but I feel like

(58:17):
somehow. They're hearing them.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. I like asking questions probably
never been asked before but here's a question definitely
will have been who's a player orwhat's an experience that is top
of your list for something you would love to do like do a video
with. OK, well then the top is always,
you'd guess, number one, it's Ronaldo, Messi, because it's

(58:38):
just like I am very like data-driven, YouTube analytics,
views, subscribers, whatever else.
I am all about it. And if you get Ronaldo on a
video, you've completed it. Yeah, so Ronaldo, one minute.
R9 over Cristiano, but I get. But not for a YouTube video.
I get what you're saying. He doesn't have the same draw

(59:00):
and I believe that I would. I would.
I believe I will get an R9 at some stage.
I'll meet him at something. Yeah, it'll be something.
Yeah. Cristiano's different gravy.
Yeah. It seemed messy.
Well, let me ask you this then say I was able to say I go
listen after this part, I go man, I know Ronaldo.
Yeah. And I show you on my phone all
these like weird. He comes all my gigs and
disguises and stuff. I go fly over.

(59:24):
Can get you 5 minutes with him. Yeah, but it's quick turn
around. What are you going to do?
With Ronaldo, Yep, I know exactly what I'm going to do.
I'm going to take someone, I'm going to throw them in a
blindfold to meet Cristiano Ronaldo.
I've had a few, there's a few really good ideas I've got at
the minute, yeah that are cooking for different things,

(59:44):
but none that I could do a tightturn around with Cristiano in 5
minutes. It feels like, like if I like
the possibilities feel kind of endless for what you do.
And there's so many leagues and clubs and players that it must
be hard to like, work out your focus for like, you know?
Because like you could just, I don't know, there's just so much

(01:00:05):
to me that you could advance currently going on.
Yeah, there's, there's clubs andplayers and there's always
something happening. So you must, it must be from the
start. You were probably thinking when
you started this, like, you know, anything you were offered,
you're like, this would be great.
You jump on it. But now you're obviously in the
territory of turning things down.
Yeah. And.
That's very recent, like literally in the last, I'd say
two or three months because it goes.

(01:00:26):
Against like you feel weird turning anything down because
you go, I need this thing to survive.
I need to be saying yes. To say no feels it's scary.
Like it's definitely scary the first times you start to do it.
I think like having an agent helps there.
That's why an agent exists. It sounds so wanky, but like the
reality, I think in the it's particularly in the last few
months, I don't know if it's offthe back I went in the Tech Talk

(01:00:48):
award or the Mbappe video. The reality is as well, since
like August, I think it was July, we celebrated a million
subscribers. We had like 3 million yesterday.
There's a big difference there in terms of like demand.
So like right now I am like, I'mnot sure when I say like I am
like there's, there's, there's too much I can't.
Do that, no. No.
And the problem in this industryis like people will give me like

(01:01:10):
48 hours notice or they'll ask me do you want to do this with
such and such? And I'll be like, yes, but we
don't have a date. I'm like, great.
But then they'll all come back with the same date.
Yeah, it's it's an absolute nightmare.
So then even trying to plan, you're like your next two weeks.
I don't even know what I'm doingnext week.
Like, I don't know what I'm doing next week.
But there's about four things that could be happening, yeah.

(01:01:31):
One involves going to Dortmund, ones in America, ones in in.
Dortmund. Dortmund.
Do you like Dortmund or Dortmund?
Yes, Dortmund. It's not with Dortmund, it's
with a player do. You play for Dortmund.
And he plays for Dortmund. Do that, do it.
I'm waiting on him to confirm with me.
We're trying. So this is where I'd love to see
it going, right? We do things that are a bit mad

(01:01:53):
and a bit different and where I wanted to go, I think with the
likes of Fernaldo starting YouTube, more footballers and
YouTube, what I want to be, you see, whenever you go through a
brand, the brand's going to havesome sort of creative brief and
they're going to like 9 times out of 10, they will dictate
what you have to do or like. They'll, they won't give you
creative control and they'll be overbearing and they'll be
things that you have to fit in and tag lines and this is and

(01:02:14):
that and whatever. If you go through a league, you,
you and you want a player, you'll probably have to include
a minimum of like 3 or 4 clubs so that it's league content, not
club content. If you go through a club, you'll
probably have to include three or four players.
So it's not player content. It's like it's just there's
always an issue, always a problem.
See if you can just go to a player and be like, mate, let's
make a video. Yeah.

(01:02:34):
Then you just get to do whateverthe fuck you want.
Yeah, because the players there and they're like a game.
So that said, what I would love to do is build more
relationships directly with players to be like, what's the
crack mate with this video idea? You up for it?
And then yes, yeah, yeah, yeah, sweet.
And and and we live in the time where, like you say, like
Ronaldo started, but those players have their own YouTube

(01:02:55):
channels, yeah, where they want that's.
Where it's mutually beneficial now.
Like we like I saw like a 1% glimpse of we were in Dubai
Precision FC. You're a team out there and
there's loads of like ex PremierLeague players that play for
them, Jamie Ward, Revell Morrison, Harry Order.
And we were overdoing a gig and shot like a video messing about
with them. And the players are going like,

(01:03:17):
hey, will you tag me in it? And you feel weird that they're
at, you're like, surely you don't care about this.
And they're like, no, make sure you tag me.
The thing is that YouTube in particular is such a like a lot
of people listen this. Again, talking to demographics,
a lot of people listen to this might watch YouTube, but there
might be of kids who watch YouTube.
Yeah. The thing with YouTube is, it's
so it's such an art in terms of the algorithm and how you build

(01:03:40):
a video and how the video is titled and thumbnailed and the
structure of the intro and the structure of the video that it's
like you look at Ronaldo and youlook at his channel, right?
He has millions of subscribers off the bat and his videos are
getting millions because it's Ronaldo.
The videos are actually made really poorly from a YouTube
standpoint. And The thing is that they go
out and they'll get 50 million views because it's Ronaldo that

(01:04:03):
it looks like a success when thereality is he could get 500
million or you know what I mean,50 million.
So it's that opportunity cost. It's, it's the same with a lot
of the point is that there's a lot of these footballers who
come in and they're like, I'm a footballer.
And they'll go and they'll try this YouTube thing and they'll
start a video wrong. They'll package it wrong,
they'll title it wrong. And you're talking legitimate
Premier League players sticking out a vlog and getting like

(01:04:25):
10,000 views. That's mad because they don't
know YouTube. So that's where it's weirdly, I
think there's opportunity for you to present me in football
where it's like, I already have millions of subscribers and I
know how to get views. So like, let me come and shoot
with you. I've got millions of views for
us and tell me, won't subscribe to you.
And then you're getting massive access, like behind the scenes

(01:04:46):
with big players, but in a really weird way when you assume
they need nothing because they have everything.
They don't know YouTube, but they all want bigger social
medias now because Gen Z and where football's going.
And gets them a move. The places the.
Difference of a club going well.Look.
Look at this guy's profile. And a lot more than we're
thinking after football, they'redoing, you know, they're being

(01:05:06):
advised by their agency and they're a bit younger.
If they're younger, they're probably watching TikTok and
they're watching YouTube and on their Snapchat.
Yeah. So they want a bit of that.
How do they get that? So there's a lot to it.
I've got a series pitch for you. It's called We take Shame.
It's called. Takes you in the matches.
OK. And I pick matches I want to go
to. Yeah.
Look, sometimes it's not even filmed, but you just send me.

(01:05:27):
I just take. The game and then you can text
me and how? How was it now It was unreal.
Here's the games. I want to go to any Dortmund
game and be in the Yellow Wall. You want to be in the Yellow
Wall, yes. Right.
I want to well near I don't knowhow I wrote it.
I don't want like the only one like pushing like push me.
I think you look quite German. I think it's 100.
Percent. Yeah, there's no.

(01:05:48):
Issue that night I just don't speak and you'll be.
Fine. I want to go to the Barker Real
Derby. Yeah, I want to go to that.
I want to go to. I've never been to a league
game. I'll probably want to go, unless
not the game it was. I probably want to go to
Classical. Yeah, I'm not lying.
Probably want to go to that. I've never been to an Italian

(01:06:09):
game, so I'd like to go to Roma Latio.
Roma Latio. But like again, away from.
Not Sancero Lenter. Milan Derby.
As a sancer getting ripped down or something.
No, but I think I think enter orbuilding their own stadium.
OK. OK, I'll go.
I'll go. I'll.
Go OK, I have to. Go Milan Derby and then let me

(01:06:30):
see one more Celtic Rangers a game.
Yep, I think. And I want to build like.
I want us to build like a separate part of the stadium,
like a neutral stand, like. So this.
Up really had like almost out ofthe stadium.

(01:06:51):
We're very high, OK, You know, like those.
Well, I just got us a blimp. Just hot air balloon hovering
over the stadium, right? That'll be ideal.
But yeah, I want to go to some games.
Yeah. Yeah.
Cool. And I'll.
Yeah. I'll I'll get working on the
series. I'll just be there.
I don't really know what I'm doing or I don't know what's
different. There's no angle to it.
Yeah, it's just like I'm like, Oh yeah, I'm at the game here
and then shots me with thumbs upthe camera.

(01:07:14):
And I'll just put up like a wee post been like, he said.
It wasn't a speedy baser, man. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Just quote me on that. It was it was good it.
Was good, he said. The football was really good.
I love if I was in your position, I would just, I'd be
just looking so much like football gear.
So what I what I got to be bit of a horn for to be honest with
you, is I like have a run a jokewith my mate.

(01:07:35):
I work with you, give me we lookthere, but I do have we horn for
this, the just collecting randomstuff like and I say this is the
attic, this is the attic, because what I love this one.
I love the idea of and this is it isn't why I do it all not
that savvy, but like a big thingI love about it is I love the
idea. Can you imagine?
You mean you mentioned that treasure chest?
Treasure chest in my day as. Well So what I picture is

(01:07:55):
imagine now having a treasure chest of random sign stuff and
memorabilia from games in the 90s or early 2000s, sign shirts
from players of the time and. Wouldn't sell one of them.
It's exactly so I'm currently making that chest and my plan is
like with my son and other kids are having all whenever they're

(01:08:16):
like 25. She's been like, look at this
cool shit. Have you, the players you've
been doing stuff with it? Why are we talking like like
this is like, not like. See the players you've been
doing? Is it because I mentioned Horn?
Have you? I think so.
Have you been getting them to sign stuff?
Yes, Yeah. Do you know?
No. Did you get?
Anything sent from Sadat? No, yes, Mbappe, no Garfield.
Yes, Mbappe 1 killed who? So what I try and get them to do

(01:08:40):
is I'll say like, can you write like 2 John or something?
Because I want it to be like, this is for me.
Yes, I'm not reselling this. Yes.
So like the Mbappe, there's another one's like 2 John, it's
easy or whatever. And then the problem with the
Mbappe 1 is so this is where like brands and whatever's come
in and it melts me. So with Mbappe, we pitched an
idea which was like Mbappe semi YouTube plaque or like, it'll

(01:09:01):
take him 10 seconds and it's done.
And his team were like, it's notenough upside.
We want bigger videos or whatever.
And I'm like, promise, you're giving us no time.
So it's like we need things thatare like him doing an action and
then I can tell the story, building up to it.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. But they said no to it because
they said no to it. It meant that if on the day I'd
went and asked them to sign something, it would look like I
was going over their head. Yeah.
Yeah, yeah. But then there were other people

(01:09:21):
on the day getting stuff signed.Yeah.
But like, I kind of felt like ifI had went and got stuff signed,
it would have looked like I was undermining them.
You. Maybe burn a relationship there
or. Yeah, so I just didn't.
So when I'm not being got nothing signed, but it's a Dan
Beale, obviously a Cobbie Manning, Griezmann.
I think I was like random have so many re random ones who I

(01:09:41):
like them just as much so because I've worked with the
player. Yeah, actually one of Evan
Ferguson. I love what you did at the at
the ballandoor ceremony with your shoes.
Yes, that's a great video just getting a pair of classic
football boots turned into a pair of shoes.
Belfast to the ballandores, thatwhat you?
Got city heel bar Yeah, shout out the boys and it's Queen St.
There's a pair of. Boots I'm trying to get for this

(01:10:01):
game. We're going to play this charity
and we're going to play and I told Paul that Price guy about
it and Paul's kind of guy. You mentioned anything he goes,
I'll get that done. And you're I'm like, you can't
get these boots. It's a challenge.
That the original R 998 right? Brazil colours, yes.
I was like. You cannot do it, but he's often
a mission. That I'd love the Ronaldinho.
Can always remember the ones where you like.

(01:10:22):
Take some of the case, then start kicking the original.
Temp tempos, yeah. But I had a story kind of on
this recently and that game in like November, the charity game,
I had November, October, the Roberto Carlos one for it.
I had bought a pair of new Total90's, the gold kind of golden,
golden like silver, yeah, copperTotal 90s and was wearing them.

(01:10:46):
I'm not joking. You see, after runner and I
played the game in them, I played 1/2 in them.
They so there's a thing with like Nike, the way they used to
make their shoes and strangely someone told me this like the
week before and I didn't put twoand two together at my entry.
It was the guy in the city heel bar told me when I was in
getting the football boots made, the football boots made into
shoes. He was saying to me about like

(01:11:07):
how people bring in things to get refurbished and it can't be
done. Basically, a lot of companies
back in like the 90s used to usethis stuff that's almost like a
foam that it hardens into like ashoe material, right?
Whatever. But over time, it degrades the
point it becomes like mushy foam, right?
So you can actually just scrape the shoe away.
It's really hard to describe, almost like, you know that sound
that like kids get in the bath. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

(01:11:28):
I don't it just mushes away right.
I thought nothing of this one didn't run around these Nike
shoes. I had AI had A and free kick to
warm up whatever and like the shoe like cracked and it was
like foam almost like yeah, I need to show you this is really
crap for someone listen, but like they just felt a mush.
Yeah, I bought a pair of Valley Express told us in the pub

(01:11:49):
before of the remake of those Brazil ones, so that, you know,
the nightbots that had like, almost the ankle sock built in.
Yeah, that's all. I could get an award down at the
spa field here for a game against shorts.
We're playing a plan for Hollywood playing League game,
and I was, I guess we create a summer's day.
Got them on a few boys in their team.
We're looking over at the warm up like he must be a player.

(01:12:09):
I'm like until the game starts, you change your mind and but I
was like, because it when you'rewearing those boots, you're
sending out a statement and thatis I am not good enough to be
wearing these, but just let me have it.
Yeah. So I get the ball as like 3
minutes into the game and I'm playing wide on the right and I
like get the ball and loads of space and start going up the

(01:12:32):
line. And I was like, God, no one's
coming here. So I turn it into a Sprint and
the boot just like a muppet's mouth, just like completely
opened. I got these off Aliexpress for
like £25, but just like completely like this.
So I'd like kick it, use my sock, kick it in my sock.
And then someone threw tape. So I had to tape it and it was
the sadest sight of all. I had to tape it up until the

(01:12:54):
end of the half and it was just.Like everyone else, left pitch
was bossing. Oh.
Man. You know what I mean?
Everyone was bossing. Yeah, and then luckily I had a
spare pair of boots was able to put on but but I like football
gear is my. Is here we top sure.
Thing and. That's all I'm saying, though,
is like a price bag goes and sorts you out or whatever, you
could be in trouble because the boots from that area are quite

(01:13:16):
often aren't made to be worn anymore.
They've just degraded. So they're like a nice thing to
have. But like, now I have a pair of
total 90s that are mashed up. Yeah, from paying 45 minutes
football. I did that.
I was buying legit pairs that were really all with a bit of
damage to try and get them fixedup.
And like you say, you take them to places or like there's not
these are so badly made. Yeah, there's nothing.
And I hate modern boots. Some of them.

(01:13:37):
I've got a new pair recently. They're kind of like I, I love
the idea of like playing at stadiums, doing all that kind of
stuff. I wonder is I always talk about
soccer rate as being like, yeah,if I could do anything.
That's it. It would be like I'm a celeb.
No. 0 interest 00 not for years and 0 interest less than 0 No.

(01:13:59):
No, No. I'd love to do like game shows.
Your own concept or exist. Go on.
I'd love to just go on game shows.
See basically. People on point this and all I'm
like. I'm not quite smart enough to do
like certain ones, but I think Igive like the weakest like a
good crack or like, but like, the chase is not for me.
You see, if you start asking me about like 1842 poetry, I'm not

(01:14:21):
there. But like, I don't know, I think
I'd love the cube. That's all like balancing weird
stuff that's not. I'd love that.
Takeshi's Castle like a runner. But this is yeah, yeah, yeah.
Takeshi's castle. Imagine.
I always wondered how more injuries in that probably more
injuries were. Yeah, they're just covering it
up. Different time.
Remember they're running across the stones.
Oh yeah, I remember the one where it was like a beehive cone

(01:14:43):
from above and you'd see it. So it was like a, it was like
little pentagons right from above.
And they're these like 3 big hairy guys in it.
And they had like black tar on their hands and you just had to
run through random doors and tryto get the other side.
But you could open a door and there would just be a big hairy
guy there, but like Black Town, and he'd stick in your face and
that's what you're put out. Some people might want that
door, you know, they're like no,no, no, I knew what I was doing
here. The the one.

(01:15:04):
I love this when you the run andjump through.
The door, I was amazing. Some of them.
Are. You have to do all.
You'd be half. What I love is they just sent
it. They said that I'd be walking up
and like kicking it. You know, and Craig Charles
commentary on that brilliant. He's.
What a wasik. That wasn't what he used to say.
Would you drink? Would you want to like create
your own thing, like a like a series, like a show, like

(01:15:30):
something you know, because you're you're involved in long
form content. We've done some spin off type
things like as a Patreon speciallike we've done Who Wants to Be
a Millionaire with. Comedians, which was.
So much fun, yeah, and stars in your eyes and things like that.
But we've talked before about like, is there like an original
thing that we could? What would you do?
We could. Do I just wonder is like?

(01:15:50):
If I had an idea, yeah, I don't really have an idea though.
The thing is as well as like I am very much like a YouTube.
So it's like to try and take that to like traditional TV and
it would be weird. So for me we need to be like
optimal for like YouTube. That's what I mean, Yeah, yeah,
yeah. Do you know this isn't something
I want to do? So here's the problem, right
with what we do at the minute. Everything's such big ideas and

(01:16:11):
like we have really good ideas and we hold ourselves to that
standard that it means there's loads of ideas and I'm like,
I'll be fun, but it's like it's not.
We can't make it, but I think someone else should.
Something that I thought is veryfunny.
There was a guy when I lived in Cork, there was a guy and this
used to crack me up, right. I might be get it wrong of a
feeling His name was Richie Roast.
Now I have no idea what this guy's I haven't seen Richie

(01:16:32):
roast Richie roasts or somethingright.
I might be making this up. Someone listen.
Well, I've heard of this guy, whatever that might have even
been his name, but he was this guy from Cork and I used to go
around, I think it was around just at the back of COVID.
He would he'd go. He used to take a food reviews,
but he did this thing where likeevery Sunday he'd go to some
randomers gaffe and eat their Sunday dinner.

(01:16:57):
So you'd have these weak cork mommies making a Sunday dinner
and he's sitting there going like like to the camera like
roasties are a bit soggy. You know, the carrots are good
that you know, 7 out of 10 or whatever and the whole family
would invite him around. Then he'd go round his wee shirt
and eat, eat, eat the roast. That's brilliant.
It's hilarious. I like the idea within football
being like going around rating people's like football days out
or away days. Yeah, maybe you're.

(01:17:19):
Home games better like you go with proper fans, you go and
have a few tins here and then wego here and we grab a Curry and
then we do this then we what pubdo you go to like I'd love to
see like what's your football day yes and do that multiple
clubs. Yeah.
Probably it's a game with what we do, the beauty with what I do
and the curse. But it's definitely the beauty
and the reason I love what I do is that genuinely anyone can

(01:17:40):
watch the stuff I make. It's not about football, it's
loosely based on football. It's not about results, not
about players. You don't need any prior
knowledge. You can be any age and something
like 30% of reviewers are female, which is quite high in
the football, which is great. Anyone can watch it.
And that for that reason we wouldn't do something like that

(01:18:02):
because I'm not going to a Plymouth game and doing that
because it alienates everyone who doesn't give a shit about
Plymouth, right? I'm not going.
I'm not even doing it United because.
It's only United. Fans, only United fans and it's
you need to sort of context around that.
Can I pitch you an idea? Pitch me the idea.
I want to give you this disclaimer.
My family do this all the time. I get pitched a million ideas,

(01:18:23):
me and Alex and the rest of my team, Jacob and Seb and the guys
I work with. We have a great relationship
where we know we know that 99% of ideas are a no.
This is this is my family can't take it.
My girlfriend can't take it whenshe says this is a great idea.
And I go Nope. And she's like, why?
I'm like, well, because the packaging is not right.
Or what's your retention strategy of all this shit?
I've thought about it to me, butI'm just telling you I've

(01:18:44):
thought about all I'm very likely to say.
Does this not look like who spends a lot of time thinking
about retention? See if this.
Is going to be me sending you togames you.
Send me to the Man United Megastore with the ground.
Here's the catch of new video I just come back and tell you.
Right, you get access to a player.

(01:19:05):
Yep. Doesn't matter who the player
is, OK matters. Yeah, probably.
The player is messy. OK.
Right. You're going fuck, what am I
going to do? What's the angle of it?
You want me to be a yes man herebefore you get into this?
No. OK.
You want to be trouble. Never.

(01:19:26):
It's about like sentimental items.
OK. So the game is called something
like Smashed It. OK.
Something like that. Don't worry, don't.
Worry I need here what the game is before I see if it's a good
name, OK. You bring a sentimental valuable
item. Of mine.
Yes, the player you arranged to have some sort of sentimental

(01:19:47):
item of his, but obviously it can be in Bel, you know?
It's like messy World Cup battle.
A replica of all of an award he's won OK, but maybe not the
medal want like more of like a trophy or a plaque We're.
Gonna be kicking balls these are.
Top of the crossbar. I just knew it right top of the
crossbar. That's it.

(01:20:07):
On them you just take shots and hit each others.
Try to smash it and break it. Do you know what?
I'll tell you something. It needs fleshed out, but
there's something on it because there's stakes.
The stakes are that your thing is broken, which is good for
YouTube. It's an insight into a big
footballer's life and they're sentimental.
Items show the videos. Here's the thumbnail.
That's why Smashed it's good. Do you know the first thumbnails

(01:20:30):
are going away from that? Right.
The overly embellished shocked. Fees, then it is.
I don't know, I'm trying what that thumbnail would be.
But yeah, we probably do that asa short.
We wouldn't do that as long form.
I want pitched it as a short. I think it's a good short.
I think there's something in that.
This is Massey's World Cup medaland today I'm going to try and

(01:20:53):
break it. That's probably how it would go.
Flip it today I'm going to breakLionel Messi's World Cup medal.
And then Messi, they're going like park.
OK. Yeah, or whatever.
He's he's your YouTube, eh? You've had your YouTube pluck
sign by certain people. Yeah, there.
Yeah, the plaque could be a goodone.
Yeah, There are things you do, people.
I'd love to get to the scale oneday where you could do stuff.

(01:21:15):
Like people have definitely donethis, though, you know, like the
Lamborghini parked and it's likeyou're there with your
goalkeeper gloves on and Messi'spicking balls, trying to, like,
hit your Lamborghini type of thing.
I don't own a Lamborghini is theproblem, do you?
Remember Nakamura, who played for Celtic, was hitting free
kicks through the window of a moving bus.
I don't remember that phenomenon.
Doesn't surprise me. Did you ever see the the Ronaldo

(01:21:36):
documentary? It was Cristiano Ronaldo back at
the peak of his Parson United, and he did all these challenges
of kicking a ball through like glass panels to see him and he
could. Be yes for Sky.
But there was an amazing thing he didn't that so they had him
and they had Ronald, who was a Sunday league player to compare.
It was like Ronaldo and Ronald and Ronald was just this fad
geezer from Birmingham or something and basically the one

(01:21:58):
test that really like I was like, that's incredible.
And at the time, because I was young, I thought like Cristiano
Ronaldo was gold. Yes, it's confirmed now.
They did this thing where like acorner was taken and they had to
head her then and he did that and they had her in no worries.
Then they did it where the ball was kicked and after maybe half
a second in the air, the lights went out and he had to still

(01:22:20):
score it. But it was to show that he knew
where the ball was going to go when he'd already tracked it and
he was already moving and he scored.
Then they did it where the ball, the lights went out the second
the ball was kicked. So the second the ball moved
lights out and he stands there and he just shoulders it in
right, The lights are like night, night vision goggles.
Then your man's running up and the lights go out before he even

(01:22:44):
kicks the ball. And Ronaldo stand on her and I'm
pretty sure he sticks at the net.
It sounds like bollocks now thatit.
Doesn't have eases cards. But I think that's true.
Part of me wonders, with the lights not fully out, but the
way they were trying to say it is that he can see by the way
the person's leg is moving, how the ball is going to be kicked
and where it's going to go. Yeah.

(01:23:05):
Now, now that I've told this story, I didn't think it before
going to it sounds like a bit ofembellishment.
Sounds like there might have been a bit of funny business
going on here. But at the time I thought it was
incredible. Yeah, so she didn't smash it.
The lights are going to go out to.
It's in the dark. And the water levels rising.

(01:23:27):
Night vision. Got night vision goggles?
There's something night vision goggles, actually, I might put
that on my list. There's definitely can I score a
goal night vision goggles. That's what it's called.
That's going on the idea. Can I score night vision
goggles? Yeah, yeah, I have a wee idea.
So. So, night vision goggles.
You're playing at the new camp at 2:00 AM.
Pitch black. Here's the hook.
You're telling people rap doors around Barcelona.
Do you want to play at the new camp?

(01:23:48):
Guys like, yeah, amazing, right?2 in the morning.
No, let's go. It's all dark.
They have floodlights, so. No, don't turn them on.
Just playing in the dark. We're doing in the dark.
Yeah, that'd be great. That'd be good fun.
Can you score, you know, can youscore in the dark?
Can I score night vision goggles, anyone?
That I'm going to do that. Yeah.
We take a while, but I've got a thought.
We we are going to do that. Well, thanks a million for for

(01:24:13):
coming on. I normally save a guess I go,
man, you want to plug your job, You don't need to plug it.
There's no, it's, it's too big. It's too big.
Still got my name maybe? It's just yeah, but the stuff is
your values are brilliant. Because I think what I love
about it is it's it's not, it just feels like you're they're
watching it and you feel like somebody.

(01:24:34):
I obviously know you a little bit, but it feels like somebody,
you know, I think people don't watch it.
That's that's what gets people in a lot is you and how friendly
you are to people and all that kind of stuff.
And it's great. It's just so engaging.
And also just Matt, like you never expect people.
We talk about this in the pot a lot, but you don't expect people
from here to be running the world doing that sort of that

(01:24:56):
sort of stuff. Yeah, you know this is mad.
The ball door was a real 1 whereI was like.
I'm sure that was a moment more like is.
There anyone else Irish here I don't even know well?
If it had been a few years, Jimmy, and as we would have been
hosting it probably a few years ago.
Remember he did he actually? Did he?
Actually? Yeah.
And Jimmy knows, but he's ever. Got so much shit for the he's
wearing a wig. That's mad.
But you're like, why not? Yeah, it's the bound door.

(01:25:16):
But what is crazy like because I'm going all doing all this mad
stuff, But The thing is I'm fromhere live in Belfast and I do I
do want to do more locally. So thanks for having me on.
I really enjoyed this. But like whenever you reached
out, it was like, yes, because Ijust, I want to do more at home.
I want to do more podcasts and you want to and.
You like meeting football? It's nice.
See, when I go on podcast, the minute it's always like talking
with me because like I wanted to, I just want to go and talk

(01:25:37):
about random things. Yeah, you know, So we'll do more
podcasts on the line, but reallyenjoyed.
It was the last thing you saw the cinema if you want to talk
about random things. Last thing I saw the cinema was
Sonic the Hedgehog 3. Thought.
I thought so. I brought my 3 1/2 year old,
because he's big, into his Sonic.
I thought it would have catered him.

(01:25:57):
But no, it's much more of an 8 year old movie, I'd say.
Right. A lot less cartoony.
A lot of in jokes, yeah. It'll be adulty jokes that you
might get. Yeah, but yeah.
Haven't seen Paddington in Peru on Saturday.
Who? Paddington in Peru?
Oh yeah, yeah, it was all over. Paddington one I just it was a
long journey. No, it was it was great.
We've seen it before, but my someone TV and you just got the

(01:26:18):
joke. I just got the yeah, but but you
know what? I've seen it twice.
Thought the first time didn't like it because we love the
other Panda movies I've saw the second time.
Great. Really good.
Made some Paddington's on the list there.
Paddington and Peru, it's great.Antonio Banderas isn't.
He's the bad guy. Banderas.
Is he the guy who was in Spy Kids?
Yes. What a movie.
He's pushing boots and track as.Well, yeah, he's handsome.

(01:26:40):
He is very handsome. Yeah, but I remember the Spy
Kids was the thing. Haven't seen that in the cinema.
Used to be a cinema on the at the Beers Bridge Rd somewhere in
east Belfast. It was the cinemas not there
anymore and I would sit there and I fancied the girl in.
Last week was it? John, thanks very much.
